so many songs on this album are the foil/dark/sad/evil/mature version of other songs. thematically there's but daddy i love him/love story, guilty as sin/i can see you, waolom/ME!, down bad/gorgeous, so long london/lover, i can do it with a broken heart/bejeweled, florida/welcome to new york, cassandra/mad woman. sonically i draw comparisons to so high school/hits different and the tortured poets department/suburban legends.

but also in my head peter is about the same person in we were happy and chloe or sam or sophia or marcus is from the champagne problems narrator's pov.

ohhh i love this thought. i totally agree, i even think we can get specific and say that a lot of songs on folklore give hints to what TTPD is and that in turn means that folklore and TTPD have so many parallels
