I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!!~ Thank you so much for the dishes piece! I'm ever so shy, but I enjoyed it, thank you darling!~ Sidenote: I learned different people do dishes differently! Interesting little extra! I also love how non-judgmental he is even if he does things differently, you put little extra things in there that are so nice - seeing how we get little insights into Rocket alongside our helpful reminders~ Embarassing, but the mental health is Not Good rn, could you do one for brushing your teeth?
first of all, ever-so-shy-nonnie, you are so fuckin sweet i could die. just a sugary little lemondrop. a sleepy little bumble bee on the warmest day of spring.
secondly (and most importantly), i want to just remind you to be super-kind to yourself. it’s fucken rough out there. the world has been made to be difficult, and sometimes when it’s at it’s worst, the simple things become the most challenging because you’re already trying so hard to keep up on the bigger, more complex, more pervasive things. you are doing so much work to try to maintain balance right now and i honestly just want to applaud you for that (and then squeeze you into a blanket-burrito and make you watch comfort tv while i feed you tea & treats till you fall asleep). give yourself grace. you can & deserve to forgive yourself for not brushing your teeth when you’re busy trying to stay alive is what im saying.
the world is hard. and you are good.
thirdly and much less importantly, im so relieved you liked the dishes piece, because i actually had a really hard time writing it and was very insecure about it lol. among other things i was definitely like “i dunno how this nonnie does their dishes, or if they have a dishwasher, or what — so i guess we’re gonna wing it!” (also rocket probably doesn’t care how you do dishes because if he’s helping, he’s gonna do ‘em his way anyway)
and finally — i will definitely work on this tooth-brushing scene. i think i actually have a weird idea based off my own distant past, so i extra-hope you like it. ♡ im going to try and fast-track it and get it done by next week — sometime between march 21-23. i’ll update the march posting-calendar once i have a clearer idea.
in the meantime, please try to remind yourself: you’re doing the best you can with the circumstances you’re in, and you deserve gentleness, care, and soft things.
i hope tomorrow is better, love. ♡

It's me again—the anon who asked about how you got into writing and stuff. Thank you so much for taking time answering my last ask. Just one last question tho. What books/kind of stories would you recommend for someone like me who's trying to get better at writing? You are such a blessing (+your writings) and I do hope you'd live a great life. :) Thank you x100
oh snap, i am opening this one up to all of tumblr, but especially to my beta @dragonsinparis!! if anyone were to have specific recs for cool shit to read on this topic, it would be her 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✨✨✨
in the meantime, i’d like to repeat and expand upon something that was once told to me, which has really resonated with me over the years:
first, READ ALL SORTS OF SHIT.
read beautiful, high-quality, gorgeously written prose. read stories with shitty grammar. stories with plot-holes but with great emotional gravitas, read stories that are superficial and predictable and trite and cliche and interesting. read stories with great characterization, read stories with just-okay characterization. read fiction and non-fiction and poetry and freeform and fanfiction and drabbles. read first person point-of-view and and third person omniscient and limited and goddammit even though it FREAKS ME THE FUCK OUT, maybe some second person-perspective, too. read all sorts of kinds of styles and authors. read works from seasoned authors and talented authors and authors who are just starting out. READ LOTS.
it is, of course, absolutely okay and only natural to gravitate towards certain styles or tropes or genres, and to wish to spend more time with “higher-quality” stories, in whatever such standards as appeals to you, but the ultimate point is: you can learn from anything, and you can learn from anyone. you learn different lessons from different experiences. so, at least every once in a while—why not broaden the spectrum of learning?
second, CONSIDER.
during all the reading that you do, what do you notice? it’s not always so much about what you like or don’t like, although that is, majorly, a huge deciding factor for many people in why they’d choose to continue reading a story or not. but for the purpose of this exercise, as a fellow writer, don’t let the ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ be the be-all, end-all to your decisions. instead, also consider: as a writer, what do you wind up thinking about while you read?
where does the story lead you? (how can you use similar storytelling tactics to engage readers in similar ways?) is there a plot device that captures your attention? (could you create something in the same vein? how could you make it your own, for your own characters or story?) is there a favorite line? how does the author (or the authors) capture the actions and emotions in language? (what do you notice more: the feelings they evoke, or the language they use? what is more important to you as a reader? as a writer? what are the relationships between emotion and language? what are some ways that authors capture the nuances between them?)
so now you’ve made some pretty messy, particular, precise observations, and you’re probably actively thinking about the work you’re reading as not only a story but maybe also a gateway into the author’s thought processes. this in itself may not be anything new—this is, after all, in many ways similar to what we try to accomplish in traditional english language and literature classes—but perhaps by now you are also regarding all of these judgments and questions and observations with the vital understanding that you, too, are an author. by reading all of these different kinds of stories, you are also opening your writing toolbox to new tools, new ideas, new skills, new language, new new new new. some good, some bad, but lots new. they are new TOYS TO PLAY WITH.
third, GIVE FEEDBACK.
in any community of creation, feedback is vital. feedback helps us grow. i’m not referring necessarily to ‘reviews’ or ‘comments’ or ‘kudos’ or ‘reblogs’ or ‘likes’. i mean, FEEDBACK.
give feedback, get feedback—to and from trusted individuals on whom you can rely to give you honest opinions in ways that will jive with your communication styles. people who will help challenge your decisions, make you explain yourself or clarify or okay, really, do we ACTUALLY need two paragraphs of this!?! throughout your works, which are, in reality, tiny, delicate, beautiful, strong, fragile pieces of your proud, vulnerable soul. find people who can help you see your works more clearly, who can help you bring out the better versions of them.
and, just as importantly, give constructive feedback when you can—to trusted individuals, to strangers, to idols, to peers, to anybody and everybody. there are no barriers, no hierarchies, no perceived rankings—just writers, who all want to grow and improve and hone their craft. doing so respectfully and clearly and openly will not only provide the author you’re studying with additional resources and insights into their audience, but will also help you practice looking constructively at writing as a peer. it is worth mentioning that everyone is at their own different stages in learning how to accept constructive feedback, so keep this in mind, especially if authors choose to respond to your comments. writers are learning learning learning creatures, all of us.
not sure what to say? sometimes the simplest and smallest notes can make a huge difference. try telling a writer how a line made you feel, or if a phrase caught your attention for any particular reason (or no reason at all), or if you really liked the way a character behaved. tell authors that you liked the title they chose for a chapter or you liked the double-entendre you noticed or feel free to ask a question about something you didn’t understand. let the author know how you interpreted a situation, share your perspective, and all the while, think about how such things relate to your own creations, and how your works may impact readers of your own.
and, of course:
in general, WRITE. WRITE, WRITE, WRITE (MORE).

. . .
You were not expecting anyone at the moment, you were just doing normal classwork... In class.
Well, it wasn't really class. The teacher let you (along with your other classmates) sit outside this time. Where your teacher and or supervisor was? No one had a clue.
So as a result everyone was just doing their own thing. As usual. You'd usually never have anything exciting or new happen unless it was someone else's event.
Wwwwwhen someone approaches you. Not the best idea, I would say, but then again this is the lucky student we're talking about.
...
A shadow blocks your light from your journal, so by instinct you look up from what you were writing with your delicate hands for the delicate work you did.
Seeing the scrawny, pale, probably malnourished man in front of you, you easily decided he was not a big threat. At least physically. Mentally, his grey eyes told different stories. You determined he was roughly 5'11", didn't have self-confidence (as most students here did), and was... Sociable?
You brush it all off as you calmly ask, "May I help you?" though it came off more as a statement than a question. Maybe you've been training too much and not communicating with others. You really had to stay in touch.
"Ah, no." He smiled as if a bit relaxed in your presence.
That was new. Usually, people were always put off by your big presence. Protective and quite frankly, scary. Others would always go away because they believed you were going to beat them up... Or something along those lines. People tended to never stay long around you.
He continued his sentence, "Just wondering what you're doing. I mean it's such a nice day outside, and you're just here. Scribbling in some notebook!"
Now, this was getting a bit uncomfortable. Especially since he had happily plopped himself to sit right next to you, your arms brushing his, trying to peer into your notebook which you swiftly hid by sliding the book closed. He was being pretty nosy, which was not something you wanted since that notebook held the things you learned from being a bodyguard or things you learned training.
Your lips pursed as you look to your side, the flat line slightly turning into a scowl.
"Again, do you need something?" Your words were faintly laced with venom, he was starting to get on your nerves somehow. You were usually very happy, but maybe this was not the best time to think about that and more about doing your job. Protecting something.
"Just looking for a friend, maybe?" He seemed rather hesitant to say that, which made your hand back away from the knife it was headed for. You let out a heavy breath, which you had been holding, and look back at him. Your eyes soften and your body unravels a bit.
A friend. That was something you needed too if you were being honest. Back then, you made tons of friends. Your personality lured them in and brought to you your loyal pals. Now that you were in Hope's Peak, you had thought it would be the same... But not so much.
Turns out, loads of the students here are cowards. Er, so you thought. This guy was starting to change that idea. You were usually so alone and closed off, you almost forgot that you were different than what others thought of you.
He starts scratching his head, giving out a chuckle, "Just a little thing our teacher, Ms. Yukezome, told us to do. I'm not the best at it, but I'm trying?" He seemed confused but mainly awkward, though his face seemed totally confident in himself.
"Well, what are you doing just sitting there?" You speak, your lips twitching into a smile. "I'm Y/N L/N. The Ultimate Bodyguard. And, trust me, I'm not as scary as everyone thinks. If anyone ever told you about me."
Hopefully, that was a good start. No one had really confronted you like this before and it's been a while since you've introduced yourself to another who was interested.
"Nagito Komaeda. I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student."
"Lucky?" you give a little scoff, smiling toothily.
"Yeah, not all the time, but it's what got me into Hope's Peak!"
He smiled back, his eyes glimmering when he said the school name. Maybe this guy wouldn't be bad. In fact, you were feeling pretty happy at the moment.
...
But oh yeah, that's not gonna settle with you. Lucky? What about him was lucky? You didn't really mind it at first... but after that interaction, it was like the universe was throwing you left and right with this fool. It was like you saw him no matter where you were in the school.
Whether in the hall, the rooftops, the gardens, the sidewalks, the cafeteria? He was there. With his fluffy hair and light skin, his beaming smile, and non-existent injuries that should totally be there why aren't they there he almost got hit with a wrench and knife and bat and what is happening to this man ?!??
Okay, so you may or may not have gone up to him and immediately question how in the world he survived being in the middle of 3 very different people (a mechanic, a yakuza, and a team manager) who decided to start fighting right where he was. He was so ??? fine ??? He literally was not fazed in the slightest, as if this were normal to him?? What ???
Now you know why he was called lucky. So that uneasy feeling about him being lucky?
You now never leave him alone unless he goes to class. What else could he trigger with his luck?!
But then again, it's not so bad being there with him. He's now your friend of course.
Okay so, rumors are a problem, for you, It's what got you alone to begin with, but now you have Nagito (affectionate?) on your side and he's great. He reminds you that those rumors aren't true, and you have no reason to deal with them by trying to show that you're not how they say you are. Those brave enough (or those stupid enough) to confront you would see how you truly are, and that's all you need.
People think you're really intimidating, although it's only the line of work you do that makes it so. You're honestly really fun to be around! Nagito was probably one of the first to truly find out after you somehow laughed at one of his jokes (it wasn't a joke, but it got you laughing nonetheless).
Shortly, it's like it becomes something more. He's suddenly nudging closer to you than usual and trying to lend you his jacket. You suddenly feel as if those childish insults are like daggers aimed towards the lucky male, and those kick up your fighting instincts.
Oh no you two like each other now.
I mean, why wouldn't he like you?? You're strong, buff, tall, protective, amazingly good at your talent, you're expressive, joyful, just a lovely person in general (hehehehshhahe tall women <3)
You're there to protect him and in the end he somewhat comforts you. He treats you like a normal person (well, if you exclude the fact he's always in awe of your talent) and you couldn't ask for more.
So it doesn't take long when he decides to confide in Kazuichi Soda for love advice... Which doesn't turn out well since now he is kinda stuck on how, when, and if to even tell you how he feels.
Well, right now, the two of you start walking in the gardens of Hope's Peak. The conversation picked to go to the topic of classes. He seemed. Really pleased with your presence... But something was still bothering him.
...
"Oh... I didn't know that pinkette actually made some interesting things. Just thought he was good at being a crybaby." You laugh at your insight and so does he, in a light manner. He had just told you about Kazuichi's nice motor that he built himself, he hasn't shut up about it (kazuichi, I mean).
"Yeah, haha..." He trails off and his eyes wander up to the sky instead of paying attention to what else you were saying. You trail off your own words as you look at him, uninterested and clearly troubled with something. His cheeks were a bit redder than usual and easily seen with such light skin.
You hum, "Komaeda, are you alright?" His head whips around at the call of his name and his face is back to normal as if it weren't trying to figure out a problem while looking at the sky a second ago. His smile was on and his eyes fixated on you. It made your own cheeks heat up.
"Yup, no problem." He gave a dry laugh. He seemed to do that often, you noticed.
The two of you continued walking, passing by some flowers and bushes every now and then. The trees swayed as the words that exit your lips with only a push. Quite abruptly, you stop at a rose bush and kneel down, Nagito nearly tripping over you (if that was possible). It held white roses and was fuming with such a lovely scent.
They seemed delicate and yet so complex, so deceiving that those convinced into thinking it was purely innocent when it hides such prickly thorns. It kind of reminded you of Nagito. Who knew what kind of secrets he hid or didn't want to share, but that didn't stop you from liking him either way.
Very carefully, you decided to get one of the roses. You were very successful in doing so! With the help of your trusty blade, it came off easily. You held it gently with your hand as you put the knife back. You get up and look at Nagito, who was watching you quite puzzled.
His face twitched into a smile though, for he saw your face again. It became one of your favorite views. "Who's that for, L/N?" He asked with his hand gesturing to the flower.
You smiled very cheerfully as you responded. "It's for you!" You handed him the flower, but as soon as you did your whole plan fell into shambles. Yes. You had a plan to confess to him but that couldn't happen yet since-
"Ouch!"
This wasn't meant to happen. You rarely got hurt. You fought off gangsters, wild animals, hell even assassins... But here you were, hurt by a little flower. It wasn't like you to be so careless, but maybe you were a bit too excited.
Your finger started bleeding out, a bit slow but it was already dripping on the floor. Nagito dropped the rose and it fell with a tiny thump. He made you open your hand and held it in his gently as he swiftly swiveled his head left and right to see if anyone was around to help.
You chuckle softly, a bit in disbelief. "Nagito, I'm sorry, there's no need to w..." As you face him, you see that his eyes are rattled and there's immense panic spreading through his body. At this moment, you realize he's worrying. Not about himself, but about you. He's been through countless events where he should be worried, but this is the only time you've seen him do, and it's not even about him.
"Does anyone have a band-aid?" he calls out to a few strangers who looked away quickly, going back to doing their own things.
You get flustered and shake your free hand. "No, no! Komaeda, really, it's fine." You meet his eyes and maintain eye contact as the two of you straighten up your bodies. His grey irises help define his dilating pupils, and you assume yours do the same. You recently saw that his eyes sparkled the same way as when you first met him when he talked about you. Or just had you in mind.
You break eye contact and giggle softly. He takes his hands away from yours and clears his throat. That was a bit awkward!
But you can tell that when he ran off, exclaiming that he'll find a bandage somehow, that he could handle himself. It was his luck that probably saved him from those anyways. You smile to yourself, your cheeks practically sore from just thinking about him.
He was one of the only people you've known who have stuck with you, let alone approach, during your time at Hope's Peak. The two of share so much with each other, have made inside jokes, love each other. You've had no trouble being the Ultimate Bodyguard, but have struggled in love because of the title.
Being buff, tall, intimidating, people often judge you by your looks, so nothing ever sparks... But him... This Nagito Komaeda of Class 77-B, the Ultimate Lucky Student... He's so much more than a friend to you. He immediately clicked a bit with you and little by little you looked forward to his presence.
You just can't imagine him not being there anymore and you imagine what it would have been like if he never went up to you, which would've been a nightmare. You've gained feelings you thought you'd never see again.
All because of him.
As more blood falls off your finger, you look down and see the rose getting dotted with red. You pick it up again and cut the thorns off. After doing so, you put it in your chest pocket. You look up to the call of your name and see him waving around a band-aid as promised.
It's like time slows down and you see all his worry almost gone. If it is really present, his smile and glow hid it. You remember all the small, wonderful things he's done to you and to others. All his emotions and reactions. It's almost like you could see yourself with that man right there. You remember that he cares for you. He's not just keeping you for protection or his own cause, he's there to be with you.
He's... He's something different.
And I think it's almost time for you to let him know. You'll let him wrap your finger first and then make your move. <3

you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but do you mind explaining about more about how you identify with she/they pronouns? I’ve been using she/her because even though I feel connected to she/they I’m afraid to use them because I feel like I need to be entirely nonbinary or like… idk im afraid because I feel like personally, I feel partially binary, I don’t feel NON binary completely because I feel like a girl, like I do, but I also feel like a little bit more than that sometimes? but I’m scared of like… using pronouns that don’t belong to me or something? or not being able to explain myself if someone asks me if I’m nonbinary or something :// just stressed and feel like everything I read online talks about “you’re either a girl or you’re nonbinary” and not much that explains she/they other than “non binary people who also like to be called she sometimes but they’re not girls”
Hi nonny!!
Thank you for this ask! I feel like it might've taken a lot to ask about this stuff and I really appreciate you sharing with me ♡
First off I wanna say that the way you're talking about your identity is very close to how I was thinking about myself when I was struggling with using she/they a few years ago. Like-- what will I say if someone asks, how do I know I really fit, what if I'm co-opting an identity that isn't mine?
I, too, worried that maybe I felt "too okay" with being a woman sometimes. Like what percentage of my life do I need to feel like not a woman to be non-binary? 😅
What helped me deal with those feelings and accept that I'm non-binary enough was realizing that there IS no percentage. There's no cut off line; being non-binary isn't like trying to decide if you can ride a roller coaster where you stand next to something that says you must be this tall to ride. You're non-binary enough even if you only feel like "not a girl" every other Friday!
My personal label is actually genderqueer, which also kinda helped me navigate the switch, because I realized that while I do sometimes feel ok with "being a woman" I don't usually feel like that means the same thing it means to, say, my sister (a cis woman). And while I went to a women's college and have definitely enjoyed spaces that are primarily for women, when I look back I can see all the ways I felt different from a lot of the cis women I was with. Almost like they got a book I didn't at some point?
It also helped me to realize that, for the most part, other non-binary and LGBTQ+ people very rarely question someone's pronouns, and if they do it's often as a way of sharing their own fears and worries. I think that's probably different online in a lot of cases (people feel fine doing a lot of inappropriate and rude things online that they wouldn't in person), but you also have the right to say that you don't want to explain yourself OR that you're a work in progress!
There's nothing wrong with trying out a different pronoun or name, especially among friends and supportive folks. Tumblr/the internet can be great for that, actually, so it's a good place to test it out.
Finally, a big thing for me was the feeling I got when I heard someone refer to me as they in a conversation. Like I just smiled reflexively bc it felt GOOD!
So. Basically: you're not doing harm to anyone by trying out she/they pronouns! There is room beneath the big queer and trans umbrellas for everyone, and anyone who tries to make you think otherwise is operating from a place of fear and scarcity.
I hope you feel loved and supported and welcome and if you ever wanna message me on or off anon to talk about things you're welcome to!!

NoN Anon again! Hello! How are you today? I hope you are well! I'm here again with another fun moment to imagine! Nomad fear wets due to an unexpected confrontation when they're traveling with Scout, and the person who scared them tries to give them a hard time about it, only for Scout to tell the person off and run em off, so she can protect her friend! (Possibly juxtaposed with a time Nomad was on their own and got razzed for their accident, which only made them feel worse.)
Hello hello nonny♡◇♡ I'm doing v good, hope you are aswell!♡
And oh my goodness ;0; the poor Nomady!!! They're just so frazzled and scared from the confrontations (its probably someone who knows about the Nomad's bounty :^0 ) that they cant help but cause a bit of a puddle- and then the other starts to ridicule the poor Nomad, probably saying how they thought they were some mighty being but here they are, wetting themselves!
That's when Scout lays it on the person, doing the pointy chest thing, asking them if they're serious about being so rude and mean, she lays it on so thick that the other runs away- and she just immediately goes over to the Nomad and comforts them ;w;
ALSO omg hear me out- while the Nomad is tied up in the undertakers basement and he's wielding the knife close to the Nomad, the Nomad just gets so spooked they wet themselves  ;^;

Do u have any advice for people who hate themselves and care about what other people think too much
Learning to be nice to yourself is hard and takes time. I struggle with it often.  I feel like it’s a personal process that depends on the details of what you’re feeling. Learning self love isn’t a one-fix-fixes-all thing, ya know? I’d definitely recommend talking to someone who can help you get through your specific troubles. I can give you a few general ideas in the meantime, though!
❤︎ You could try writing out your feelings so maybe you you’ll understand where they’re coming from more.
❤︎ You could make some healthy goals on things you want to work on. For example, one of mine is to practice meditating more often and get into the routine of doing it especially when I feel low so that I can learn to react better to myself and others when my mind is being overwhelming.
❤︎ You could talk to the people close to you who’s opinions you care about the most and explain what you’re feeling recently and why.
❤︎ You could do a positivity challenge. Everyday write down at least one positive thing about yourself or your life. It could be a personality trait, a quirk you have, a talent, something you accomplished, an interaction you had during the day, something cool you saw, etc. It could even be something as small as you like a specific freckles or you picked up some litter that day. Anything at all. It gets you in the habit of looking for nice things about yourself and your life instead of always focusing on negative thoughts.
I hope your mind eases up on you and you can find some peace in your life, Nonny Non Non. Sending you lots of love ♡

Hi Bunny! I noticed that you've mentioned Nomad of Nowhere before and now I just gotta know if you've got any omo hcs for everyone's favorite scarecrow bby? (Sorry if this is the wrong place to send these kinds of questions! Hope you're having a nice day!)
;w; heck in times like these I wish I still had my old kink blog bc I wrote like 3 NoN omo fics and stuff about that scarecrow 😭 but, I 100% have some hcs roaming around♡♡
(So in just we just presume/pretend he can do the pipi😂)
•He's totally a fear wetter, poor scarecrow is timid around real life after being alone for so long and having a bounty on your head doesn't really help! So sometimes he'll be wandering and swear he spots some of the Dandy-lions out of the corner of his eye and dives behind the nearest thing. He's petrified that he's gonna be caught so he's trembling at the thought and involuntarily a puddle forms under him :^0 After a while he peeks up and sees that no one is there, to his relief but also to his embarrassment bc/ of his bodily reaction  ;^;
•He's still a protector, that's his purpose of being so, Nomad tends to put off his needs. Perhaps this is more evident when he was still taking care of Melinda, especially when she grew up and started to wander into surrounding villages . He would hold off his need to go in order to either wait up for or to go look for her. And there were times where he would be trying to scold her for both using her magic/and/ wandering about; but then he'd suddenly double over and shove his hand between his legs while a rivet of pee goes down his legs. His attempts to scold her might not have worked on bringing her back to the briers but, having an accident definitely did (bc/ Melinda knows he wouldn't do that on purpose and she feels bad for unintentionally making him wait for that long)
•When he has to go it's a bit noticeable because you can hear that lil jingle as he's shifting around 😂
•Sometimes his lil rock buddies try to help him find a place to go, or comfort him if he has an accident  ;w;
•Since he and Scout are venturing around now, it takes Scout a bit to realize that the scarecrow has certain needs (and she probably finds that out from him having an accident, or two :^0 )
Aaaaa that's all I got currently but feel free to pop on by if you have any hcs and stuff nonny ❤❤❤
