Setting Light into the past, for spells, ancestors and beyond.

Setting light is a common practice in a lot of tradition, spiritual lamps are used EVERYWHERE...so it isn't very restrictive to one tradition but as a concept that you can tweak your petitions and your intentions when you set it, I hope that people try it and report back :D

A candle burn straight down, but the light it gives off goes all the way and around. It goes forward, backward, and all around...That's how we are as human when we are "time" burns one way, but the light it gives off is all around. That's how time is, that's how our spiritual families are, that's how a lot of magical work should be, by reaching into the past. Even if I say this in a million way, don't do a candle spell to change the future, change the future by setting that light into the past.

The spiritual dead people who are connected with you by blood, by soul, and by actions are many and as many as the grains of sand in the world. To think of that it's only a backward motion is to only look at them as dead people not as people in different stages in their "life", the difference between them is the difference between an old person and a baby. Not much except time have passed. Really what you think of as ancestral predecessors are only what you see, hear, touch from your own "genetics" but if that was the only way we live, we wouldn't have spiritual heroes like the prophets, saints, righteous people, immortals, wanderer, hermits and so on. The world as we know it is only the tip of the iceberg for the whole "world" as it is. To assume that it only extend to your family is to assume that your family is only related to you by blood and nothing more. Your Ancestors from the start till today are all here and listening carefully to each letter you read, and each word you speak for they carry their weight for them as your words are the "scale" by which they can elevate and evaluate you, it's not a one-way street or two-way street, the streets and paths are endless as the street and paths in sand tracks, YES there are easily more identifiable ones but that's not important, what's important is that you go to each path and "Call" with a sincere heart and offer a sincere word, that's what really carries the Word not if this path is more identifiable than that path. Light, and it was there. To close off, instead of praying to someone to improve, pray to their ancestors, send your prayers of light to their "spiritual family", let it go beyond in time to the past. That's the important thing, there's a million way to skin a cat and reach Rome and this is my way of opening up a different approach to the petition and workings you do, REACH into the past and work with that. The past is just as malleable as the future, and the present is the only thing we "have" and can work with to influence all other points. Remember, Your future and past are two columns by which you enter the mysteries of the holy temple of God and Time. Let the Light go into the past and see it illuminate you right now. His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from ˹the oil of˺ a blessed olive tree, ˹located˺ neither to the east nor the west, whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. ✨🔮There's So Many Spell Materials Right in Your Kitchen 💐🍓

🍓You don’t need to immediately jump right up to your local botanica, spiritual shop, or even digital marketplace in order to find ingredients for your spells. A lot of the time, if you’re not able to go outside to forage, you can open up your own pantry and find PLENTY of items for whatever kind of spell work you’re doing. Protection, love, money, cursing….you can find ingredients for anything you want to do in your spice cabinets, in your fridge, in your pantry!

🌷Things like cinnamon and coffee can be used to add speed or quickness in your work.

🌷Cinnamon is also great for protective work because of it's firey hot nature as well. You can use the whole bark or the powder in different ways. Do what works for you and what your spirits or traditions or ancestors suggest.

🌷Cinnamon is ALSO good for money work too! I fucking love cinnamon. It goes SO good with other things like allspice and nutmeg too for money.

🌷 Coffee in general is an ingredient I like to use in my m

🌷 Lemongrass used in tea can be very helpful for calming anxiety. Lemongrass can also be used for cleansings and breaking blocks.

🌷Cornstarch can be used as a base for all of your spiritual powders if you wish!

🌷Cloves are good for domination.

🌷Black pepper is protective, and is very useful in reversals/return to sender work.

🌷Flor de Jamaica/Hibiscus flower is really good for love/beauty work, especially passionate ones. It has a lot of vitamin c as well!

🌷Mint is so good for money work! I love sweet mint the most for this. It’s also good to drink as a tea for when you’re having stomach problems like tummy aches and gas. It’s very easy to grow fresh as well, and can be found for pretty cheap at grocery stores (pssst….if you have SNAP/EBT, you can find mint plants/hierba dulce in supermarkets and they’re SNAP eligible!)

🌷 Apples have also been associated with things like beauty and love, depending on who you’re talking to. The seeds would be very useful in love but alternatively dominating work, depending on what you’re going for. Just be careful!

🌷Onion & garlic skins can always be used for cleansing and protection (garlic for this) purposes in your space and home too

🌷Eggs can be used for offerings (but as always, double check that whoever will accept them!). they can also be used for cleansings as well, and are also used for protection.

🌷Dont forget the egg shells are useful for protection too! And you can use the eggshells as well to create calcium water for your plants, or crushed up so slugs cannot access your plants.

🌷White rum is so good for cleaning as well, so is white vinegar, but for the vinegar I personally think it's especially important to do something to bring sweetness and good things back into your space

🌷 You can literally use any of your kitchen oils to make your own conjure oils -- it doesn't matter if it's vegetable or jojoba or canola or soy or olive (although I PERSONALLY prefer to use olive as base for my money oils & work, as well as my protective work)

🌷Oregano is also good for money, for protection, for situations with court and the law

🌷Orange peels are great for happiness and money! They're also cleansing, so they're great for floor washes. You can boil them if you want to for washes and for a nice scent to the home. You can dry them to use in happiness or money powders or mixes (you can keep the peels whole or turn the dried peels into powder with a mortar and pestle, food processor, or by hand)

🌷 Lemon and limes can be used as strong spiritual cleansers too. I like to boil them and use the water for washes. They can also be used for other workings, especially when you need people to leave you alone and get away from you. You can prep them the same way you would do the orange peels!

🌷 Oats are good for your skin, especially if you have irritation, but are also really good offerings and has been associated with wealth as well.

Make sure at the end of the day you’re talking to your spirits, your ancestors, your intuition, and listen to what they tell you! They’ll always give you the best results, it’s never good to just do whatever the books tell you.

How To Use Saint Expedite In Your Hoodoo Spell for Fast Results.

Now if you follow me you know that hoodoo doesn't have saints root workers in hoodoo were prodasion not Catholics. But there is nothing wrong with useing them just dont put them on your hoodoo altar keep them separated.

Saint Expedite is one of the more favable saints to petition when a situation gets tough. He works quickly.

St. Expedite in Voodoo and Hoodoo: For some Haitians who practice Vodou and even Voodoo in some parts of Louisiana St. Expedite is often been associated with the Baron, "Baron Semedi" to “Baron La Croix” They are Lwa spirit's of death, he reminds us that life is meant to be enjoyed. In New Orleans voodoo St. Expedite is not associated to Baron Samedi/ Papa Gede. But like St. Expedite he works well for speedy progress for anything that feels blocked. When it comes to a working, Saint Expedite is frequently petitioned as he is known for bringing luck quickly. He is also known to aid in gambling. He is a fantastic Saint to work with when one finds themselves in a bind.

Need to know: You should only petition him when you really NEED what you're requesting. Don't petition Saint Expedite for things that would be nice to have, or things that you want. Petition him when the going gets tough and you have no other options is what best. Same goes for the Baron only for dire need.

Feast Dates: On April 19th, we celebrated the feast day of Saint Expedite.

Papa Gede feast day is November 2nd or All Souls’ Day.

Payment Offering: You must make a deal with Saint Expedite as part of the petition. Ask clearly for what you need, meaning if you petition him and promise him something for his help you must and should pay him that with his offering. He likes a piece of pound cake and a glass of water along with some flowers. (Do not pay him before the work is done - only afterward)

How I typically petition Saint Expedite: Take a red candle or glass candle if preferred.

Gede's colors are red, yellow, green, purple, black, or white.

I would rub Holy Oil, or used St Expedite oil around the wick. But you can poke three holes in the wax then put one drop of Saint Expedite Oil in each hole. I write down what I need in detail on petition paper.

Dab a little Saint Expedite on the four corners and center of the paper. Fold the corners. Place this under the dressed candle by your Saint Expedite statue or photo.

Then pray.

Prayer of Saint Expedite for Fast Results:

Saint Expedite, faithful and hard-working servant of our Lord Jesus Christ hear my plea. I come to you humbled and desperate, seeking your divine intercession on my behalf. You who have fought many righteous battles and know the pain of hard labor, help me in my hour of need.

I seek __________________________, for the best of all those involved.

I pray to you, divine servant of God that you assist me now. I offer you your due wages of a piece of pound cake, a glass of water and flowers in thanks once you have assisted me. With gratitude and humble thanks, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen!"

Let that candle burn all the way down. You can repeat this prayer every day until it has come to pass. Once the candle has burned out if you want to repeat the candle burning and prayers you certainly can but it is not necessary.

I can wear Saint Expedite Oil by dabbing a bit on the bottoms of my feet, on your wrists or behind each ear.

Paying Saint Expedite: Once Saint Expedite comes through with your request, give him his Offering.

If your calling apon Papa Gede his offering is food, candles, coffee, and gin.

Consider working with Papa Gede when you need help speeding up a process, are working towards a goal, if you feel progress is too slow, and are tired of waiting. If your Gede can help you get it moving in a positive direction. Papa Gede can bring movement and progress in situations that have stalled for weeks, months, or even years.

Petitioning Gede: When working with Gede, you will need to obtain a statue or an image of Saint Expedite and put it in a corner on the floor are your altar with his veve. To petition him, you would use a 7-day candle, depending on your situation a oil lamp is good You can give a small offering while he is working your case. When your case is resolved and you have received your results, you should give his offering very soon after. Since you experienced fast results, you should give him his offering just as quickly, unless you promised it on a certain day.

You can leave offerings on his altar for three, seven, or nine days. When the offering is finished, you can leave it in a crossroads or cemetery.

Remember the vodou spirit and the Saint are different if you plain on asking Gede for something do it with as much respect as you would a saint. You are or can be a devotee to him you can't do a lot with out knowing how to and that comes with being initiated..
