Okay, I'm done being subtle about this.

I keep mentioning in my tags and in a post recently that World War II was allowed to happen because Hitler started conquering Germany's neighbors.

The world didn't interfere at the time due to 1) not wanting to start another war so soon after WWI, and 2) The Great Depression was nearing its end, but still happening.

Hitler's excuse at the time was to "reunite Germany" since part of the treaty of WWI was taking all of Germany's military away and splitting the country. They brought it to its knees as much as possible. So when Germany started taking that back, when they started rebuilding their army, it was illegal to do so because of the treaty, but no one stopped them.

Things only escalated to a full-on war when Hitler invaded Poland, after being threatened not to do so by several other countries. He did it anyway.

This is what we are currently seeing in Palestine right now.

What Israel is doing is, by international law, illegal. The people who have the power to stop them are not doing so. Israel is operating under an excuse ("self-defense," and religious zionists support them because they are "taking back the Holy land and fulfilling God's promise" or whatever), and Israel is now attacking Lebanon and Yemen.

They're just going to keep going.

I've been hesitant to call Israel a Nazi state due to the sheer amount of baggage that comes with that, but there is no denying it at this point. They're neo-nazi fascists who are following in their own oppressors footsteps, spreading hatred and violence to other parts of the world while no one in power stops them. Hell, even worse, this time around, the people in power are fucking funding it.

If you think this "war" won't affect you, think again.

If you ask me, looking back on history, if we don't put a stop to this in its tracks soon, then I fear this is only the beginning.

Know your history. Stand with Palestine. Ceasefire NOW.

Anyways, dsmp as a fandom is just homestuck but again.

Fandom is incredibly popular, yet also labeled as "cringe" and "problematic" by people trying to find moral superiority in not enjoying something.

Very small subsections (sometimes individuals, oftentimes younger) of the fandom doing problematic things are paraded around as examples of how morally impure any engagements with the source material is by those same groups of people in their attempts to justify their disdain.

Source material spans several different medias and is extremely difficulty to classify, with a lot of meta play.

the fourth wall is fucking dead, they took it outback and shot it.

Large amounts of fan/creator interaction that drove sections of the story, particularly early on.

"Lore droughts" are literally just the homestuck hiatuses. At least dsmp still gets some content creators active. Homestuck would just go dark for an entire year and that was normal.

Character designs are vague and leave a lot up to the viewer in terms of how they picture/show the characters and story.

Certain characters get completely demonized and liking them can lead to sections of the fandom feeling it's worth death threats over (Vriska & c!Dream fans are The Same).

Homestuck's wiki has 2 separate pages for characters "Canon" information and "Dubiously Canon" info. That tells you a lot.

Fandom discourse is considered The Worst.

Trying to explain the plot of either of them to a sane human being in anything but the broadest strokes is fucking impossible.

Good luck to anyone attempting to catch up after the media started. Most people skip ahead and just rely on fan information to fill in the gaps, a very dangerous game when it comes to characterization.

Despite everything, the fandoms have immense amounts of creativity, powerful and profound moments and characters pulled from their very silly mediums, and are able to do amazing things when they set their mind to it.

In conclusion, homestuck and dsmp as fandoms are the same thing over again. The only real difference is as far as I can tell, kin blogs have mostly gone out of fashion and that's a shame.

Icarus' reactions to the bars are just kind of sad. The first reaction is to the bars replacing the glass on the bee dome and bird area is mostly just snarky. Sure they have to go into these areas often (and going into them would probably give them a panic attack because bars trap and cage and Icarus does not liking being caged), but they also don't *have* to go into these areas in this immediate moment, they can change it back to glass or ignore it out right until quixis changes it back. So to quixis goes the "Do you like think you're funny?" Before they go into their house. Their reaction in the house is very different to their reaction outside. The glass in the house also changed to iron bars, and while they don't take note of that immediately, looking around for a moment, their eyes do eventually catch the bars. And there's a small pause before they react, a moment of realization that they're *inside* (trapped and caged and looking out at everyone else who's free to come and go as they please) before they heistate and promptly decide theyre not working on the house right then. Even as they're walking out their eyes catch the bars right near the door and they almost do a small jump. Icarus gets *scared* at the concept of being trapped like that, even if they have an open clear nice way out. Their snarky asshole "im right, youre wrong" demeanor falls away the second they're scared - the second they're trapped and reminded so clearly of *that*, the them that's still in there, shoved down under layers and layers of a carefully built facade, comes out and shines very clearly through. (Something about how things from the endstone reset keep coming back and back and *back*)

Wasn’t expecting to get too excited about the 2024 Pokemon Presents, but that curveball Pokemon Z as a Legends game with Game Freak taking extra time for development is pretty hype.

Kalos deserved better than X and Y, so hoping it gets a lot of love!

Anyway. I’m here because I want to share my day 1 moonshot theory before theory-crafting goes out of style.

I understand the point of this trailer is to show Lumiose City’s redevelopment blueprints coming to life. But my brain said “Fullmetal Alchemist.”

So, what if this game reveals that the city planner behind modern-day Lumiose (preferably a cunty, femme-coded ancestor to Lysandre and/or Sycamore, let’s be honest) designed the equivalent of an Amestris transmutation circle? Either to reactivate the ancient weapon or mess with the balance of nature some other way to draw out Zygarde for yadda yadda evil plotting.
