It’s how Fable kept telling Rae that Icarus wasn’t alone, but just minutes later, he left Icarus alone, in the birdcage house once again

Icarus gets the fuckig hug (so i can sleep peacefully)
"Do you want a hug?"
The question caught them off guard. They weren't expecting that. They weren't really expecting any of this conversation to go the way it has. They weren't expecting Rae to even be there today.
They knew the answer, of course. They couldn't remember the last time they'd been hugged. But the thoughts ate away at their mind, telling them that they didn't deserve a hug. Especially not from Rae, and yet here he was. Telling them he missed them, he loves them. Offering that hug. That human contact. Something so simple, so basic yet something they craved so deeply.
"y- yeah... please"
They took a hesitant step towards Rae and he closed the rest of the distance. He wrapped his arms around them and they melted into his embrace. They didn't know what to do with their hands, so they remained awkwardly standing there as their brother held them. He was crying. They were trying so hard not to.
They missed him, too.

four months, and they step foot in the cave again, step foot in it following after fable, with the promise of good, of showing them their mom, of letting them see her face,
four months, four months of hiding, of not grieving, and almost that amount of fighting with their brother, almost killing him again, hurting him again,
four months of cycles repeating (when don't they? when haven't they?) and they step into the cave with a promise for Rae to come out, (becuase they can't not promise can they? can't be another reason someone they cared for died, they couldn't handle if the cave took another life)
four months and they step into the cave with so much more information than before, but they still know had it been fable's choice, they would know nothing (which, is fine, he just wants to protect icarus, he's only ever wanted to protect them, they know its not true, but the mantra will repeat over and over until someone beleives it)
four months, and they step into the cave, and someone is left in there, their mother, and yet it feels like two were, two people who have not spoken their name in- so long, but Fable will fix it- they have to pretend, and two people who do not see them, despite their presense
but Icarus steps into the cave and can only feel the way that Centross is there, though he's not, not even a body, and they can only hate that Fable put their mom in there, but its fine, he's just protecting her, (its not, nothing is fine)
Icarus steps into the cave, and it is as cold as the night Centross died,
(so that lore huh- i have, so many thoughts)

It's been 4 months already. 16 weeks - 112 days. They're almost numb to how long its been, now. Its just a repetitive cycle of anger and fear and despair, that at some point they're bound to become numb too it.
Everyone knows whos side Icarus is on - they're scared of them; again. They're *scared* of Icarus again - scared of the person Icarus has always been. (But thats a lie, isn't it? They're just scared of the person *Fable* wants them to be. If they were the person everyone else wanted them to be (the person they more resemble at heart), then we wouldn't be here right now.)
There's not much more to be said that they haven't already said before. There's blood on their hands, again, but that seems like a repetitive cycle that just keeps happening. Icarus can't escape hurting people - can they?
They're always going to hurt the people they love - the people at some point they considered a family. (The people that *were* their family - because Icarus never really had one of those; not properly.) They're always going to hurt. It's just how the cyvle goes - why would they try to break it? It's not like there's a point anymore - they're in too deep, and its not like anyome is going to try and bother to pull them out.
(They've had a week, 2 months, *4 months* to just *simmer* - and they're not sure how much longer it's going to take for them to boil over; but they doubt it'll be very long.)

Guys I've never watched megamind, but based on my recently found knowledge of the plot, I feel like I need to ask this
Is Icarus Morningstar a Megamind kinnie?

I’ve had this idea for a while and had no motivation for it so I’m sharing it here:
Fable SMP Umbrella Academy AU
Hear me out:
Fable is Reggie Hargreaves, no doubt in my mind
Rae is the equivalent to Vanya/Viktor. Fable told him his entire life that he has no powers.
Icarus and Rae’s dynamic is like Allison and Viktor’s. Toxic
Icarus is Number One. Their power is potions, they don’t need books, they just have all the information in their head and can make anything in just a couple minutes.
Athena is Number Two. They can destroy things just by gesturing to the object and wanting it to get destroyed.
Centross is Number Three. He’s a mix of Luther and Diego, super strong and very good with his weapons. He gets sent to the Med Bay a lot after missions and Fable is always mad at him for letting himself get hurt.
Jamie is Number Four. They can talk to animals and occasionally make new ones in their room, much to everyone’s awe and dismay. They’re really close with Easton because they’re bio siblings.
Easton is Number Five. They got blinded during a mission when they were younger and Fable doesn’t allow them to partake in missions anymore, even though they can sense using the plants around them.
Haley is Number Six. She can see and hear a few minutes into the future at will and is good friends with Icarus.
Rae is Number Seven. He’s been told his entire life that he doesn’t have powers so he works on gear and equipment maintenance for everyone else. He also patches everyone up (mostly Centross) after missions.
Isla is defiantly Grace and I think c!Ven would be Pogo.

The first time Fable told Icarus that he loved them was when they did something he considered useful and good,
But the second time he told Icarus that he loved them was because he could tell that they were considering leaving
He saw how they panicked when he got close to the cave,
He saw how they promised Aax they would keep Rae safe,
He saw how they stayed somewhat close to Rae in the bubble and most importantly,
He heard Rae ask Icarus if they wanted a hug, and he saw Icarus consider it
He saw Icarus consider the hug, and he knows that if he wasn’t there, they would have taken Rae up on that offer,
So he’ll tell them that he loves them if it means that they’ll stay on his side, if it means that the powers they hold within them will stay on his side

I keep thinking that if Icarus got a mortar and pestle to grind up their alchemy stuff, they would just use the mortar to smash things like they do with an anvil

Monster from Epic and Icarus analysis because the thoughts do be real
“How did suffering become so endless?”
- Icarus thinking it should have been done by now, but it's not. It's still going
“Do I need to change?”
Moving on.
“I'm surrounded by the souls of those of lost”
- Icarus talking about Aurelius, Enderian, *Centross*, Momboo, etc.
- The idea of everyone who has died is a sacrifice, and they will be brought back, but also Icarus ability to not grieve properly because of it
"What if the greatest threat we'll find across the sea, is me?
- Icarus wondering if they are failing and they are going to slip up to the point everything crashes because they made one wrong move.
“What if I'm the monster? What if i'm in the wrong”
- I like to think this line as Icarus beginning to think of each reset and all the "antagonistic" acts they've done and thinking if they are and have always been a monster because they in their own eyes can't seem to do anything to help people as they just end up hurting someone.
“What if i'm the problem that’s been hiding all along”
- Icarus in “Lady of the world” talking about how corruption has always been there, how whatever they did then was always there they just pushed it back of their mind until corruption made it the forefront of their mind.
“What if i'm the one who killed you”
- Icarus debating if it was Quixis that killed Momboo or themselves.
“What if I’ve been far too kind to foes but a monster to ourselves”
- Foes = Fable, ourselves = everyone else minus the co-workers
- Although Icarus currently wants to fix everything and stay with Fable, i like to see this as Icarus debating if they are on the right side.
The Polyphemus section is Centross, mainly the Violet Reaper
“Or does he end my men, to avenge his friend”
- S1 funeral.
-“Avenge his friend” is a line you could annotate “friend” to be Enderian
- If you wanted to, you could almost switch into "...,to serve his goddess"
The Circe section is Enderian
"When the witch turns men to pigs, to protect her nymphs"
- Corruption of Ominus Bane
- You could see this line in my opinion as either to protect her realm or to prove her point about Overworlders and how they are the same, for example, resorting to violent outcomes
The Poseidon section is Fable
- This section is a mix of things, I can see mixes of Fable during the war and Fable currently, and Icarus is like thinking of the similarities and differences between Fable and himself.
The Odysseus section about him during the Trojan War is Icarus and the Wack
“Does a soldier use a wooden horse to kill sleeping Trojans cause he is vile”
- Icarus using the wack to kill Momboo
"Or does he throw away his remorse and save more lives with guile"
- Icarus querying if he should just throw away his regret for any actions he has done and attempt to help people through sly and cunning intelligence (literally the definition of guile)
The section after the Odysseus section is Icarus wondering if they should just become the monster to everyone else but not the co-workers and yk Fable
“I lost my best friend, I lost my mentor, my mom, 500 men gone…”
- Best Friend is Centross.
- Mentor is a funky one because i could see it be switched into my brother, but at the same time, you could keep it as mentor and annotate it to be Quixis
- Mom is Isla -> "Like King like Prince" : Icarus finding her portrait and realising Fable hasn't told them where she is and that he can't remember her aswell as Rae
- 500 men gone = the people and gods who have died and or been husked
“I must get to see Penelope and Telemachus”
A) remove the context of the names, no wife, no son, none of that
B) This could be annotated into two different ways but i can mainly see it as Momboo and Centross and Icarus’ hope with all this they can come back
“I’ll go where Poseidon wont reach us”
- Poseidon could be annotated into Enderian, but one that I think works well is the faction, mainly Ocie.
“And if got to drop another infant from a wall in an instant so we all don't die”
- Icarus being like if i have to kill another person, fuck it, whatever it is I need to do to prove myself or help in anyway.
The end section with Odysseus choosing to become the monster I could see as Icarus state of mind of their not meant to be helping people as all they have done is hurt people, so that's what their meant to do, it's what they were ment to do from the beginning, so they will.
Thoughts and feelings go bonkers and bit of aaah and bit of RA
