Monday mornings were parade days. The platoon would be marched out of their barracks to the parade square. Today was unfortunately not just a normal practice parade, this was the real thing. Colonel Hall is coming to visit the base to be introduced to the new recruits and check on the officers. Drill sergeant Goode marches out to the front of the platoon. She turns herself around to address the recruits.

“Platoon 309. Attention!”

The voice of the drill sergeant rang across the parade square. The platoon was quick to stand at attention.

“Present, arms!”

The platoon raises their right arms and salute Colonel Hall. The parade goes on as usual, Colonel Hall is very impressed with the progress of Sergeant Goode’s platoon. Captain Von Du and Colonel Hall are walking through the ranks to inspect the recruits and speak with a few of them.

“Good morning sergeant Cox.” Colonel Hall said smiling at Jackie, herself responding back respectfully and she moves onto the next recruit. At the end Colonel Hall passes on her praise to Captain Von Du and Sergeant Goode. The parade gets wrapped up and the platoon is dismissed for lunch.

“Gigi!” Jackie walks over to Gigi following dismissal. Jackie and Gigi joined the corps at the same time, they became fast friends.

“That was so nerve wracking Jackie. I was so worried I’d mess this whole parade up.” Gigi grabs her face in her hands.

“You did fantastic! You were clear and you looked badass!” Jackie laughed while patting the flustered red headed drill sergeants shoulder.

“I can’t wait to see the new privates joining today after lunch.” Gigi stated while they both started to walk over to the mess hall.

“You’ll mold them wonderfully, your drill training is top class.” Jackie giggled back.

The mess hall was nearly full. Everyone was washing their hands and lining up to go to the counter. They ate based on rank, the lower the rank the faster you get food. Jackie and Gigi weren’t the highest rank there but they were high enough that they’d get to the food by the last wave of recruits. Gigi scowls at the counter, seeing the bain of her existence. The eggs.

“They have those scrambled eggs.” Gigi whispers to Jackie with a raised lip.

“They aren’t that bad Gi.” Jackie whispers back.

“Eggs. Shouldn’t. Bounce!” Gigi stated as she grabbed her food tray and handed one to Jackie.

There are plenty of rumors about the mess hall food going around, it wasn’t by any means a five star meal but everyone could agree it was better than MRE’s. The girls grabbed their food and went to find a place to sit. They see a bunch of new recruits sitting at a table with the captain getting the rundown.

“Gi look at that private, with the green hair.” Gigi’s eyes wander over.

“She’ll have it dyed by sun down Jackie. You know they only allow natural colours.”

Jackie lets out a giggle and continues to follow Gigi to a table with the rest of their friends.

Lunch time shenanigans (like half of the s12 cast)

I wrote a little thing as kinda an intro to an au I'm gonna try and write more of. It's got a good lot of the season 12 girls acting a fool and I wanted to post it.

There was never a dull moment at lunch. Between the chaotic energy of the girls and their loud voices telling each other stories of something amusing that had happened in training.

"So then she got all mad and said it wasn't her fault. Chille. We saw the ball going one way and you going the other," Jaida recounted as the other girls laughed along.

"Girl I don't know what you expect from Brita. That girl admits she's wrong once a decade," Heidi added, causing another wave of laughter to ripple through the group.

"Genuinely, I don't know how you deal with it Jan."

"Genuinely? More like januniely," Rock quickly quipped. Jan's face lit up, erupting into giggles over the pun. Rock felt a surge of pride at making the blonde laugh.

Jan would always end up cackling at Rock's jokes. Something about the other girl’s humour was inhumanly funny. Their shared love of puns was a source of far too many bad jokes that only the two of them would find funny.

"Oh don't start her off girl. Here we go." Nicky said, rolling her eyes at the girls' antics.

She would never understand their obsession with puns. She would claim they were all unfunny but she did know of one person who could make them funny. Her mentality was that if your name could be considered a pun, you must be good at making them. Heidi Nina Closet definitely fit that description, her jokes could be the worst out of their friend group but Nicky would swear that she was the funniest of them all.

Heidi herself seemed amused by the joke. Although not to the same extent as Jan.

"Oh here comes the famous jackle. Y'all aren't ready." Heidi quipped.

Nicky shot her an amused look. Heidi could make puns and she would tell them at any given opportunity. Sometimes they were funny. Heidi smiled at Nicky's response. If she could get the notoriously poised girl to crack up at one of her jokes then she felt she was doing something right.

"Not the jackle!" Crystal laughed along with Heidi, Rock, Jan and Nicky. She turned to Gigi, who seemed to not care for the bad jokes.

"It's funny, you can laugh Georgia."

Crystal almost saw her life flash before her eyes at calling Gigi by her real first name. She couldn't bring herself to be scared of the taller girl’s glare however. Gigi could never be intimidating to Crystal after knowing how she would never do anything or follow through on any of her threats.

"Crystal Elizabeth so help me god. Don't you dare call me that unless you want me to hurt you!" Gigi maintained her best cold glare, but it cracked as the green-haired girl shot her back a grin.

"You would never! You love me too much."

Gigi laughed, while her insides twisted in a familiar warmth. If only Crystal knew how much that was true.

Watching the stupidity from the sidelines, Jadia turned to Jackie, who was watching it with a smile.

"Isn't it funny how they all don't realise they like each other? Our friends are stupid."

Jackie snickered at Jaida’s comment, briefly reflecting on how they all were just confused gay girls who didn't know how to express their feelings. Deep down she had a suspicion Jaida was like the rest of them but she would never let such a vulnerable part of her get seen. Unless they were alone.

"Enjoy it while it lasts. At least our children are getting along."

The running joke of Jackie and Jaida being the parents of the group wasn't unfounded. Jackie was the responsible one. She was organised and cared so deeply for all her friends she would always try and help. One comment from Crystal about her being the mother of the group had stuck, but she didn't seem to mind and happily accepted the title.

Jaida got cast as the irresponsible mother. She was more mature than some of the others (although that wasn't hard compared to the likes of Rock, Jan and Crystal) but seemed to revel in watching the chaos of their friends going about their lives. Not that she wouldn't protect one of their group within a heartbeat, but she did enjoy watching the likes of Jan trying to quell an angry group of players at soccer training or Gigi making a fool of herself acting like she didn't have a huge crush on Crystal.

"For now Miss Cox, for now."

Dare Me To Call You (Nicky/Heidi) - Viktor

fic summary: In the middle of the craziness that is playing truth or dare at sleepovers, Heidi is dared to call her crush.

A/N: hi! this is my first time around here, so I figured starting off with a rarepair was a pretty nice idea. I want to thank @bleedingxend for beta-ing this and dealing with me brainstorming. I hope you enjoy, and you can find me at @theviktorr if you’re interested too! <3

Heidi didn’t know how she ended up in this position. Her phone was in her hands, open in the ‘contacts’ section, and she could notice how much she was shaking.

It started with Nicky’s stupid truth or dare games, a tradition during their sleepovers. Everything started out nicely, with Dahlia googling potential questions or dares, Rock challenging Jan to eat glue and Nicky getting into everyone’s sexual lives for no reason except pure curiosity. It was a regular game on a regular sleepover, and Heidi didn’t have a problem with it.

Until all questions towards her became about Nicky.

And Heidi didn’t have a problem with the French girl, not at all. And that was the problem. Saying she liked her was an understatement. She loved her. She loved her stupidly seductive accent and her soft blue hair and eyes; She would die whenever Nicky hugged her or held her hand during scary movies. Nicky was adorable. Terribly hot too, but also adorable. And she was kind, too. A little cocky most of the time, making fun of Heidi’s fashion sense and makeup skills sometimes (and the quality of her supplies, too), but she was always there to help her and give her advice, even help her picking clothes and even giving her some nice supplies as presents for her birthdays. They were really close, actually, and no one was surprised at that, they were just perfect for one another.

But it was weird that everything she was asked was related to the French girl in some way or another. She only told Jackie about it, and her Persian friend didn’t look like the type to share other people’s secrets. She encouraged her to make a move, yes, but that was about it. She’d talk about this with her when they were alone, as she didn’t want to get Jackie in an embarrassing situation in front of the girls, but she was really hoping it wasn’t her, because she didn’t want to get mad at someone so kind.

She brushed off most of the questions and dares that were related to Nicky, or that went meant to set her up with her. She’d scream “Look over there!” whenever someone asked ‘who’s your crush’ or saying she wasn’t comfortable when someone asked her to give someone in the room a lap dance or anything slightly sexual, Heidi had skipped at least half of the questions and challenges given to her. Of course, she accepted some, having fun answering Crystal’s existential questions or regretting getting dares from Rock as she forced herself to lick her shoe.

But it was Brita’s turn now. And that was dangerous.

She immediately turned at Heidi, with that stupid big smile all over her face.

“Truth or dare, Heids?”

“I’m no coward, so dare!” The redhead smiled joyously, resting her head on top of both of her hands. She already licked Rock’s shoe, what could be worse than that?

Brita didn’t think twice. The question came out of her big mouth almost automatically, and she hardly had time to come up with an unused excuse to avoid the dare.

“I dare you to call your crush.”

“But—”

“—Oh no, you’ve already skipped too many questions. You’re doing this.”

Shit.

It was true that, out of all the dares, she skipped most of them, but she was terrorized by Rock and that should’ve been counted as three dares on a row.

She stuttered and tried to form a sentence, wanting to avoid the challenged at all costs. But nothing came off her mouth. She sighed, taking her phone from the pockets of her hoodie, and hesitantly scrolling through her contacts. She looked at it from the list for a couple of minutes. It wasn’t anything cute or cheesy at all, it just said “baguette” with a small heart emoji right next to it. She picked that name to annoy Nicky during one of their many conversations, but she never bothered to change it. She tapped on the contact, displaying the options to call and message, and the small phone-shaped button was screaming at her, it was telling her that this was the moment she’d been waiting for.

A phone in the room started vibrating as soon as Heidi pressed the green button. That sound that played as the other line was picking up was almost deafening to Heidi. She was clenching her teeth and her eyes were closed shut, and it felt like an eternity until she heard the french girl right next to her ear.

She picked up. Damn it.

“Why was my phone ringing, Heidi? Did you make a mistake?”

Heidi turned around to see her, catching her sitting on the armrest of her couch.

Her pale face was now red, a shade she’d never seen before on her. It looked cute, if she had to be honest about it. Her blue eyes met Heidi’s almost immediately, and she felt like her heart stopped beating for a moment. Some of the girls looked surprised, as if they never heard about anything like this, but some other were giving both of them smiles, the encouraging ones, the ones that tell you “congrats! you did it!” as soon as you look at them.

Nicky left her place after a few moments of silence. She left her phone on top of Gigi’s lap, and quickly walked towards the redhead, kneeling by her side and kissing her cheek. Heidi’s world crumbled on top of her. This wasn’t possible. She probably drank too much of Crystal’s improvised cocktails and fell asleep. The cutest girl in the world wasn’t just kissing her. On the cheek. After an unplanned confession.

Nicky’s hands traveled all the way to Heidi’s chin, shivers going down the latter’s spine as both of their faces were slowly brought together. When shyly breaking eye contact, she noticed how Jackie was, as usual, covering Gigi’s eyes as she was ‘too young to see this’, and even if she normally would have laughed, she gave her entire attention to the French girl once again, and how she was leaning closer and closer, almost kissing her. And she did. It was short, but felt timeless to Heidi. She was sure she had stains of red lipstick on her lips now, but it didn’t matter now.

But nothing could matter now, as she embraced Nicky the way she had wanted to ever since they met. The fact that she felt her hug her back, tightly, holding her close to her body and even kissing the top of her head. Heidi felt loved, more loved that she’d ever felt in her life.

And it could’ve been an adorable, rom-com esque moment, if it wasn’t because of Jaida, the person in the room with a degree on breaking the mood in every romantic situation.

“Chile, I know you both like each other but there’s people here, go get a fuckin’ room!”

Nicky broke the hug but decided to sit right by Heidi’s side, laughing and apologising for that. She grabbed Heidi by her waist, pulling her closer, and didn’t think twice about whispering at her ear when the other girls resumed the game.

“Voudrais-tu sortir avec moi?”

“Nicks, ya know I love your accent but I don’t speak croissant.”

“I’m asking you out.”

Heidi giggled, pretending that she knew it all along, and just enjoyed the feeling of Nicky finally hugging her and loving her the way she wanted her to. She really loved her, and now that she could finally be certain that her feelings would be reciprocated, she felt like all her daydreams about living in a cottage with her and eating French bread all the time, even if Nicky insisted that there was more to French cuisine than croissants and baguettes, were about to come true.

Take On Me (Crystal x Gigi Fanfic)

It was Nicky’s birthday and they are having a blast. Everything was going so well, everyone having fun except for Gigi. She was ruined. Nothing’s going well anymore, or so she thought. Trigger Warning: There are sensitive topics in the fic including nudes and scandals. I tried my best to resolve it.

The early spring breeze blew past the balcony, throbbing bright lights all around the house with loud music entertaining everyone. Near the pool, three girls were seen taking their shots and giggling at how bitter the alcohol tasted but at the same time numbing their senses, which was favorable to them anyway.

“Happy Birthday, Nicky!” A high-pitched girl cheered, planting a kiss on the cheek of the blonde-haired girl with short waves. Everyone greeted the birthday girl in chorus taking yet another swig of their drinks.

“Thank you, Jan. Thank you to all of you here.” She gave a hug to every person who wished her a happy birthday before walking around the house to say hello to her guests.

“Doll! Happiest birthday to you!” A tall, rosy-haired girl approached her, wrapping her arms around Nicky, before giving her a small paper bag. “I have something for you. I’m sure you’ll like it.”

“You don’t have to, G. Merci!” They linked arms and walked around, greeting the guests.

Everyone knew their name. Everyone followed them on social media, being influencers in their little country college. They all secretly envied the pair, having the kind of lifestyle and popularity they had, getting everyone’s attention even with just appearing in a room. However, they had nothing against them. It’s the reason why they are two of the most beloved students in their school.

“Let me drive in peace!” The sapphire-haired girl yelled at her friends as they approach the birthday girl’s house. “It’s just around the corner, right?”

“We’re so late for the party, Crystal. Why did it have to take you so long just to choose which pair of shorts and cheetah-printed shirt you are going to wear to the party?”

“I am pretty sure you don’t want to walk to Nicky’s house alone.” Crystal flashed a smile through the rear view mirror, showing it to Jackie who was sitting on the backseat of the pick-up truck. “Look at Heidi here, just focusing on getting enough sssleep.” She tried to copy Heidi’s whistle, chuckling on her own little joke.

“But seriously, why did it take you so long to get ready? It’s not as if Gigi’s going to look at you tonight.” The sapphire-haired girl shot a look through the mirror on Jackie before turning her eyes back to the road. “Girl, she just broke up with Adam. What makes you think she’s going to go after you anyway?”

The pink-haired girl had been Crystal’s long-time crush. She hardly ever looked at any of the students in their school. She was too busy living in her own world to take a glance at the people around her. It was during a Geometry class that they shared together back in high school when Crystal first noticed the girl.

“Knock knock?” A soft voice came from the door. There stood a slim girl with luscious pink locks, holding her books to her chest. “I am really sorry I am late, Ms. Visage. I got caught up in-“

“It’s alright, Miss Goode. Take your seat. Okay, class let’s proceed…” The teacher just gave her a smile and allowed her to go in. Everyone was just charmed with her presence, they can’t even get mad at her even if she tried to. Not as if she would want to.

The pink-haired girl ran to the back of the classroom, near the windows and settled down. She noticed the girl beside her, scribbling random doodles in her notebook using a variety of colored pencils. Her mind was obviously not in the room, Gigi can tell by the look on her face.

“Miss Methyd, how do you get the hypotenuse of this triangle? Will you show it for us on the board or should we also look for the answers from the tree outside?” The girl beside Gigi snapped back to reality as her name was called by the teacher. She blinked a couple of times before lowering down her head, a tint of red flushing on her cheeks.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Visage.” She uttered softly. The pink-haired girl felt bad at how the teacher treated her. She bit her lower lip, slowly scooting closer to the girl.

“Hey.” She whispered softly. “I can show you how to get it. Give me your notebook.”

Feeling embarrassed, the girl shakily handed her notebook to her seatmate, receiving a soft giggle as the other girl took a look on her journal.

“Your notebook’s quite filled with glitters, I like it.” She jotted down a few notes while still making sure she was listening to the teacher. Gigi took enough care that she was able to write the notes down step by step for the other girl to easily understand the lesson.

After a while, she nudged the notebook back to her seatmate. “Hey, I know it’s kinda hard to understand the topic but I hope this will help you. If you need anything else, you can just come and see me.” She flashed a bright smile to the girl before turning back to listen to the class discussion.

The other girl can’t help but be mesmerized by how kindhearted Gigi was. The pink-haired girl definitely did not know her name or even knew of her existence until that day but the sapphire-haired girl made sure to know Gigi from that day on.

At last, the group arrived to the late night celebration of Nicky’s birthday. They entered the house which was packed with a lot of their college friends and classmates. Loud music was heard all around, there were people dancing in the middle of the living room, some chose to stay near the kitchen to get their drinks, while some occupied the tables where they held their beer pong games.

“I’ll get us some beer.” Jackie said to her friends before walking to the kitchen. Heidi and Crystal decided to look around and search for the celebrant. After a few minutes, they were able to spot the pair near the pool.

Before they can even reach the two girls, Heidi’s phone rang. She dug into her pocket and checked the notification that she just received. “Oh wait, what’s this?”

The room turned silent. Everyone was looking on their phone before lifting their heads up to glance at the rosy-haired girl. A look of confusion washed up her face before the celebrant showed her the phone screen.

A picture has been leaked on the students’ chat rooms. It was a mirror photo of a slim girl with fair skin, luscious pink locks covering her bare chest. The face was covered but unluckily for Gigi, everyone had an idea who it was.

Gigi’s face lost its color, completely stunned at what she saw as she rushed towards her ex. She darted her dark brown orbs to him, shooting daggers through her eyes.

“Ooooh… Miss Nice on the streets but Miss Naughty on the sheets.” One of Adam’s friends cooed, smirking towards Gigi.

A loud slap was heard across the hall as Gigi planted her palm on her ex’s face. She sprinted towards the door, not minding how much in pain her hand was in. Her friend Nicky tried to follow her, catching her by the wrist as she ran but Gigi swatted it away.

With her eyes blurry from the tears she was trying to hold back, she was not able to see the blue-haired girl standing on her way. Their shoulders touched harshly but she did not mind it. She continued dashing towards the door. Crystal was in panic. She had no idea what had happened but she had the urged on the pit of her stomach to follow the girl.

“I’ll be right back. You can start without me.” She advised her friend before running towards the door to where Gigi might have went.

It took her a minute to locate the tall girl. She saw her sitting down on the pavement, hugging her knees to her chest with her face buried down. Low whimpers were heard as Crystal slowly approached the girl. She bit her lower lip between her teeth, attempting to place a hand on the girl’s back but pulling it back immediately.

“Get away from me. I’m disgusting.” Gigi snapped at Crystal, thinking she can push her away with her unkind words. However, the sapphire-haired girl was determined to be there for her. Just like how she was before when Crystal needed her.

“I… You can have this.” She hurriedly looked for her handkerchief from her pockets and handed it to Gigi. “It’s all yours. Use it as much as you need to.”

“I don’t need this. You can now go back to the party and discuss how gross and scandalous I am.”

“W-what? What happened?” Crystal actually had no idea. She was not able to check Heidi’s phone when she showed it to her. She was too busy looking at Gigi to notice anything else around her at that time.

“Check your phone. That Adam leaked a photo of mine.” The sapphire-haired girl was appalled at the reason why Gigi was crying. She had the urge to run to the guy and punch him in the face but she would rather be there for the girl. She decided not to follow Gigi’s advice, leaving her phone inside her pocket. She did not want to see anything she was not supposed to look at, especially a private photo of someone that was supposed to be kept in secret.

Crystal sat beside Gigi, hugging her knees as well. She was set on being with the girl to comfort her. What she felt for her was not even the reason she was there, she just knew the girl needed someone to be there. However, her heart was truly in rage, pumping real hard as she realized how close she was sitting beside her.

“Why… why are you still here?” The tall girl stuttered. Tears continued to stream down her face as she took a glance of the girl.

Crystal just had the most outrageous idea. She was almost sure the other girl would reject it but she wanted to try anyway.

“Do you… perhaps… want to go for a drive?”

Silence filled the air as Crystal’s eyes laid on Gigi, waiting if she would answer or not.

“I… I was just thinking that it might take your mind off things. I won’t mind driving. But if you don’t want, it’s totally fine. We can stay here.”

It took a minute before the pink-haired girl responded. She gave a small nod towards Crystal, biting her lower lip as she wiped off her tears. The other girl stood up, offering her hand to Gigi before pulling her up.

“Let me go and quickly get my truck. It’s the silver one over there.”

The two settled down inside the truck, Gigi sitting in front beside Crystal. She turned some music on as she drove around the block.

“If you want to keep on crying, let it all out. I don’t mind, to be honest.” Crystal said in a soft voice as she focused her attention on the road. She was driving around with no destination to go.

It took a while before anything was heard from Gigi. One moment she was just staring at the landscape through the opened car window, next she found herself bursting into tears. She could not accept how her reputation and dignity was ruined with just one photograph. She wanted to get mad at her ex however, she felt angrier at herself, thinking how stupid she was to send him that. She felt ruined. Her insides shattered once more as she remembered the look on everyone’s faces. They were surely surprised. The words of Adam’s friend echoed in her mind, allowing her to cry loudly.

Her cries broke Crystal’s heart. She had never expected to see her like this, she never wanted to. For her, she was always smiling, offering her kind help to those who needed it. She didn’t deserve to cry like this, the sapphire-haired girl thought. She poked through her pockets once more and handed the other girl her handkerchief.

This time, Gigi did not hesitate. With her hand shaking uncontrollably, she took the piece of cloth from Crystal and used it to wipe of the sadness from her face. However, her eyes kept on crying, pain obviously felt on her chest. Crystal remained quiet, just the music from the speakers surrounded the interior of the car.

Crystal loved old songs from the last century, that’s the reason the music playing were from a different era. ‘Crazy For You’ by Madonna played on the speakers.

The sapphire-haired girl snatched a glance from the girl sitting beside her as she mouthed the lyrics of the song. They were now surrounded by fields, the night sky shining with millions of stars. They drove in silence, the pink-haired girl had enough cry for the night.

A few minutes later, another song played inside the car.

How will I know if he really loves me? I say a prayer with every heartbeat I fall in love whenever we meet~

Little did she know, Crystal started singing along as she drove off. Her eyes were focused on the road that she was not able to notice Gigi staring at her. It was mesmerizing for the tall girl to listen to Crystal’s voice. There was just something in it that made her feel comfortable throughout the drive.

“Ooh, tell me how will I know~”

“Don't trust your feelings~” A shaky voice echoed beside Crystal.

“How will I know? How will I know~”

“Love can be deceiving~” A giggle came out of Crystal’s lips as she realized that the pink-haired girl beside her started singing along. It was refreshing for her to hear that, especially after what happened a few moments back. They caught each other’s eyes and let out a chuckle as they continued to duet the entire song.

Seeing Gigi’s lips forming into a genuine smile was like a treasure finally discovered for Crystal. Watching the girl sang along with her caused her heart to beat rapidly.

“I wonder what the next song wi- A-ha! Oh gosh I love this song!” A high-pitched squeak was heard inside the car as Gigi started to move her hands to the beat of the song, enjoying the melody.

“We're talking away I don't know what I'm to say I'll say it anyway Today's another day to find you Shying away I'll be coming for your love, okay?~” Gigi sang along, dancing in her seat. Crystal’s eyebrows furrowed as she watched how enthusiastic the girl was towards the song.

“Favourite song?” Crystal ended up being shushed by Gigi as the girl continued singing. She would even put her head out of the window like a gleeful dog taking a drive around town for the first time. Watching Gigi had her own concert inside Crystal’s car made her feel delighted that the girl seemed to be enjoying herself and distracted from the previous event that had happened back in Nicky’s house.

The next song played and the two sang a duet again on top of their lungs. It didn’t matter if they were heard outside. They didn’t care how loud they were or how hoarse they might sound. What mattered to them was that moment they shared inside the car, singing together in harmony.

After a few minutes, they reached a cliff which exposed a breathtaking view of their small little city. It was a silhouette of the buildings and houses and on top spread the nighttime blanket filled with bright stars. They stayed inside for a minute, quiet as they both take in the scenery.

“It’s beautiful up here. How did you discover this place?” Gigi turned to look at the sapphire-haired girl, tilting her head to one side as she await for an answer.

“I accidentally drove here back in high school. I used to go here when I wanted to get lost in my thoughts, to draw or just an escape.”

“What did you want to escape from?” The pink-haired girl had her seatbelt unbuckled, crossing her legs and turning to face Crystal.

“Well, a lot of teenage problems, I guess. Oh and how badly I wanted to get out of that school. I don’t want to have math classes anymore, it was awful!”

“I understand that. Everyone had terrible high school experiences. Gladly, it is all done now and we have learned from it. Plus, we’re in college now. We can do more things than we used to before.”

“But I still can’t do math.”

A light hit touched Crystal’s shoulder as Gigi let out a soft chuckle. “Crystal, remember Ms. Visage? Gosh, I wish I had helped you out more. But I must say, you staring out the window produced some amazing abstract art in your notebook.”

Crystal’s face dropped. Gigi remembers? She thought to herself. She obviously did not expect Gigi to know her let alone remember that she was part of her high school life. She thought she was just some invisible blob that walked in the school grounds, her friends are the only one who knows that she exist.

Ever since high school, Gigi had been one of the popular girls. Contrary to the norm, the rosy-haired girl was not the mean girl she was expected to be. She was charming and enchanting, always helping others without asking for anything in return. Her smile was like honey sprinkled with stars, sweet and full of shine. She could walk inside the room and everyone would drop what they were doing just to gobble up her presence. Or was it just Crystal who’s like that?

“Hey, did I say something wrong?” Gigi’s worried voice echoed inside the car as she put a hand on top of Crystal’s knee.

“Oh, no no, I am fine. I just did not expect you to know me.”

“What? Would I even go with you here right now if I don’t know who you are?”

“I… I don’t know. Uhm, I thought you just wanted to be somewhere with a stranger to clear your mind. I-“

“Crystal Elizabeth Methyd. Geometry, Physical Ed, Painting, AP History, Foreign Languages. I think we had homeroom too. Those are just some of the subjects we had together. Maybe you’re the one who can’t remember me.” The pink-haired girl teased Crystal.

Of course Gigi remembered. Every morning while waiting for homeroom, Gigi usually stayed near Nicky’s locker area. Nicky was never suspicious before. It was what she got used to doing with her friend. But when the tall girl always insisted on standing there until the bell rang, she had to find the reason why. As they exchanged stories near her locker, she would watch Gigi’s eyes and follow where it was looking. On the other side of the hall stood a flamboyant ball of sunshine, clothes that were definitely not found in their era but looked like it came out from an 80’s magazine. Her sapphire blue hair resting above her shoulders.

“She’s colorful, isn’t she?” Nicky nudged her friend, putting her back to her senses.

“Who? Crystal? Yeah. She’s quite eye-catching, you see. I- I mean it’s because she’s like a rainbow, you just want to keep staring at it.” Gigi had mouthed the last few words.

The French girl thought it was just because of the vibrant hues the other girl was wearing which made her friend gaze at Crystal. As soon as she heard what Gigi blurted out unknowingly, all the pieces fit perfectly together. It was not just in the morning. During their art class, they always got to present their work in front. Whenever it was Crystal’s turn to share, the rosy-haired girl would shift her seat and lean forward, taking in all the words that the other girl was saying. The attention she gave to the girl was different than how she usually talked to other students. There was just something in Crystal that the tall girl found enticing and mesmerizing.

As the two girls chatted inside of Crystal’s car, ‘Suddenly’ by Billy Ocean played on the speakers.

I used to think that love was just a fairy tale Until that first hello until that first smile~

The sapphire-haired girl turned her head to look at the girl sitting beside her who was beaming as she shared a story of their prom back in high school. She looked at her as if she was trying to memorize every freckle and point of her face. Crystal directed her eyes on a clump of rosy-colored hair, being twisted on Gigi’s fingers. Her velvety lashes blinked slowly as her sweet cherry lips delivered her story. Her coral-tinted cheeks moving as she talked, positioned perfectly on the sides of her mouth. The girl’s eyes traced down her elegantly straight nose, positioned perfectly on top of the tall girl’s grin. She can’t help it, Crystal’s eyes kept drawing back to the girl’s lips.

Suddenly life has new meaning to me There's beauty up above and things we never take notice of You wake up suddenly you're in love~

“I am just so glad that you are here right now, Crystal.” The pink-haired girl mumbled as her fingers played with the handkerchief. “It has been an awful night. I thought it would have been fun because it is Nicky’s birthday. But that Adam had to ruin everything. Do I really deserve this?”

No.

Crystal’s dark orbs shifted towards the rosy-haired girl, her hand reaching to comfort Gigi. Her thumb stroking the top of the other girl’s hand as she offered her a small smile to let her know that she was there for her.

“Thank you.”

“It may be very difficult for you right now but who cares what other people say? It’s as if they don’t take photos themselves. It is never your fault to do something like that. Never your fault, alright?”

The pink-haired girl moved closer to Crystal, wrapping her slim arms around the other girl. She was took by surprise but immediately wrapped her into a warm embrace. She let her hand stroke the other girl’s back, slightly running her fingers through her hair. It felt like an eternity before Gigi pulled back slightly. Their face were inches away from each other. The two girls gazed into each other’s eyes as the pink-haired girl found comfort within Crystal’s dark orbs. The sapphire-haired girl beamed slightly, as she titled her head to the right side. She took a deep breath, her heart beating quickly as she came closer to the other girl. She knew that if she gets through this, the little seedling in her heart for Gigi would no longer be small. How she would look at the world, how she would see every waking moment would change. She knew that in doing this, they would never be the same. She waited, trying to see if the other girl would move away or anything but she was just there, her eyes locked with hers. Then she kissed Gigi. She planted her lips, longing to be graced by the softness of Gigi’s mouth. As their lips touched, the seedling inside her bloomed into a beautiful flower.

Crystal’s hand made its way to Gigi’s cheek, stroking it softly as their lips molded together. The rosy-haired girl scooting closer, leaning against the other girl as they poured their feelings into the kiss.

The sapphire-haired girl was the first one to break away, licking her lower lip as she glanced at Gigi. The pair shared a low chuckle, surely surprised at how the night ended for the both of them. The rosy-haired girl leaned in once more to give Crystal’s lips a peck, giggling before shifting back to her seat. She combed her hair through her fingers, a huge grin spread across her face as she opened the car door and hopped outside. Her reaction made the other girl shake her head as she followed her, walking to sit at the hood of Crystal’s truck.

While the two girls were gone, tension filled the ambiance of the party. Everyone was astounded at how fast the things were happening. One moment, Adam was being slapped and the next thing was Nicky asking for all their phones. She was her best friend anyway and the least she could do was to abolish any record of the photograph that was leaked. She wanted everyone to delete it and leave no trace. Their group also made sure of this by checking all the phones and asking everyone if they have sent it anywhere else to avoid having it spread somewhere else.

Nicky’s boyfriend was the one who took care of Adam and his friends. He did it as calmly as possible, talking to them and asking them to erase any data regarding the scandal. It was a good thing that he was a senior in college and used his seniority to warn the boys. One thing that Gigi liked about Adam was that he knew how to listen. What he did to her was inexcusable but he knew that he did a mistake and deeply regretted it. He did it due to anger but that was never a valid reason. He thought Gigi might not be able to forgive him but he would do anything just to make it up to her.

The couple had their hands laced together as they listened to Bryan Adam’s Heaven from the speaker inside the truck. Gigi pulling it closer to her lap as she rubbed her thumb against the back of Crystal’s hand with her head nestling against the blue-haired girl’s shoulder. The flower in Crystal’s chest fully blossoming, growing into a mesmerizing and charming bouquet for the girl sitting beside her. They stayed in place with comfortable silence being shared between them as they watched the dawn breaking in front of their eyes.

Home Away From Home-Chapter 1 (Gigi x Crystal)

Hey guys, this is my first fanfic hope you enjoy! It’s about Gigi who had just moved from L.A to small town Missouri turns out she has a little crush on the girl across the street. But the girls heart might belong elsewhere. Might do a chapter two!

CRYSTAL

"Crystal! Come here please!" Mrs. Methyd called from the kitchen. Crystal sat up and got out of bed with a groan, and skipped her way down the stairs entering the kitchen.

"Yes mom?" Crystal said politely despite being slightly annoyed after being disrupted "We have some new neighbors that just moved in across the street! I heard they have a daughter just a year younger than you. Why don’t you go welcome her and find out if she’s going MSS (Massori Secondary-School)" "Uhm, okay" But before doing so Crystal went up the stairs looking to get changed out of her pajamas but still not really caring much about what she looked like while throwing on some sweats and a t-shirt.

Crystal slowly made her way across the road taking her time, and then making her way up the driveway passing two cars one was a fancy sports car she would’ve never been able to guess and the other was a BMW and then rang the doorbell. As she waited at the door she got a text from her friend Heidi and decided to wait to respond she then heard footsteps approach the door but she wasn’t expecting that when the door opened it would reveal a beautiful girl she began to examine the girl and caught sight of her she was tall with defined cheek bones, ice blue eyes, and golden blonde hair. Crystal was star struck and felt as though she should’ve prepared herself better instead of her grey sweats when she realized the girl’s beautiful sundress. "Uh.. my names Gigi, I just moved here" the girl stated. Then Crystal snapped back into reality "Oh, I’m Crystal! I uh live across the street" she said extending her arm out to shake the beautiful girls hand, and Gigi did the same. "I wanted to come and welcome you to the neighborhood, so welcome!" "Thank you very much" Gigi then said "Uhm.. would you like to come in?" She continued "I’d love to!" Crystal says a little too eagerly being thrilled due to how gorgeous Gigi is.

After briefly exploring Gigi’s house they run into her dad "...Hi dad" Gigi says "Hm? Oh hello Genevieve" he said politely but it felt strangely cold "Hello! I’m Crystal" Crystal began to introduce herself "Hello, I’m Mr. Goode" Crystal took a mental note of that 'Gigi Goode' they then made their was up to Gigi’s room where there are still a few boxes scattered around the room. It was a light purple that was decorated my posters and in the center a white bed complimented with black and grey bedding "Your room is very cute!" Crystal says while still scanning the room still and noticing a pride flag hanging out of a still packed box. Crystal was surprised at the sight because she pictured Gigi being a jock dating cheerleader time by her house and the way she dressed but she wasn’t complaining the only other two lesbians she know are Jackie and Jan and she’s pretty sure they’re into each other "Thank you!" Gigi said grinning. Crystal went to the box and picked up the flag as Gigi beganto look stressed "Oh sorry I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, shouldn’t have touched your stuff" she chucked nervously "No, don’t worry" Gigi giggled "So are you going to 'MSS'?" Crystal asked "Yes, is that where you go?" "Yeah!" Crystal spoke thrilled. *bing* a noise came from Crystals back pocket, then reached to her phone.

Mom

Hey! Dinners ready!

Crystal

Okay! On my way Mom

"Hey, I gotta go. Will you be at school tomorrow?" Crystal asked the girl she found herself lusting after "Yep!" She replied "Well.. I could drive you to school if you want?" Crystal sheepishly asked "That would be great! I’ll see you tomorrow!" But before Crystal could leave Gigi grabbed her arm and a pen and wrote down her number Crystal said nothing but indicating she’d text her with a small wink.

She then went home and greet her mother and father then sat down to eat dinner with them "So was the girl nice?" Her mother asked while continuing to eat her enchiladas "Yeah she’s really nice!" Crystal then spaced out at the thought of Gigi, her mother picked up on it "Is she cute?" Her mom asked causing Crystal to blush. Crystals parents were very supportive of her being gay but they didn’t talk about it much "Uh.. I-I dont know" her mom laughed at her and then after diner Crystal went back up to her room and called Heidi "Hey! Sorry I didn’t answer your text my mom wanted me to welcome my new neighbour to Missouri" Crystal said after Heidi picked up the phone "Don’t worry about it boo" she replied "are they going to MSS?" "Yeah!" Crystal replied once again too eagerly "Ouu, is she cute?" Heidi said giggling "How’d you know they were a girl?" "You’re too excited for it to be a guy" Heidi teased "Oh shut up" Craystal said giggling then continued "She gave me her number.. should I text her?" "Obviously you idiot, but don’t forget about your flirt feud with Jaida. I think she might be into you" Heidi said quickly "Jaidas not even gay!" She said defensively "Not so sure about that girl, but seriously text this women" Heidi returned with "Okay! See you tomorrow love ya" then Crystal hung up the phone

Hey Crystal! Excited for school tomorrow, it was great meeting you

Great meeting you too! Maybe we can hangout sometime?

Crystal was very excited to see Gigi but she also couldn’t stop thinking about what Heidi said about Jaida.

GIGI

After a long night of thinking about the girl next door she woke up excited to go to school with her new friend. She got out of bed and got changed into a little black top, leather pants and some gold hoops. She posed in the mirror to see her perfect figure staring back at her she truly was perfect even if she didn’t know so herself, she then continued on with her daily routine and after siting on her couch waiting for Crystal to be ready. *ring* Gigi jumped up off her couch at the sound of the doorbell knowing it was the girl she met the prior night and rushing to the door. Then taking a breath and keeping herself composed to open the door and see the girl "Hey Crystal!" She said excitedly more so then she wanted to come off while noticing how beautiful Crystal looked today and how her red curly hair reflected the sun off it "Hey, you ready to go?" Crystal saying much more relaxed then Gigi had seconds before "Yup, and thank you again. I was slightly nervous about going into this knowing nobody.." Gigi confessed shyly "No worry’s!" Crystal said with a smile on her face that was worth framing a photo of. They walked up to Crystals car it was older and kinda dirty not what Gigi was used to but she figured it does the job of getting Crystal from A to B so it didn’t exactly matter.

They arrived and prepared to part ways for the day "Hey, you wanna eat lunch with my friends and I?" Asked Crystal "Really? Of course" she said as she grinned "See you later!"

The day flew by Gigi had done similar things at her old school in L.A so she wasn’t very far behind the rest of the students in her classes. She ended up having Crystal in her spanish and she then picked up on her being Latina by her tan skin and her perfect accent when forming the words and answering the questions of the teacher. Once lunch came around she asked one of her teachers the way to the lunch room and they directed her to where it was m. She felt weird going to the lunch which confused her since she’s usually very confident, but she ignored it.

"Hey Crystal!" She said walking up to her new friend at a table with one other person "Hey! This is my friend Heidi" "Hey, Heidi!" she said regaining her usuall outgoing personality "Hey Gigi, I heard a lot about you" as Jackie snickered which made Crystal blush and Gigi’s heart flutter. Then two other girls approached the table "Hey I’m Jaida! Gigi right?" One of the new girls said the sitting down next to Crystal "Hey, Baby" the Jaida girl then said to Gigi’s new neighborhood and the words made Gigi’s heart sink, but before she could here what else Jaida had to say to Crystal another girl approached Gigi "Hey, I’m Jackie! Nice to meet you" "Uh.. yeah good to meet you too, I’m Gigi" she said sweating a little after feeling so stupid about thinking Crystals wink the night prior was a signal so she kept her mouth shout throughout lunch.

The rest of they day passed by and Gigi decided to ignore Jaida calling Crystal baby, they just met anyway it’s no big deal. But she was a little let down because Crystal reminded her of her friends back home she was so endearing she just wanted to be around her all the time for some reason which wouldn’t be difficult living across the street from each other. As Gigi was about to walk home hoping to avoid Crystal because she was still a little let down but she then heard foot steps racing up behind her turning around to see Crystal "Hey! No need to walk I’ll take you home, we live across from each other anyway" Crystal hoping Gigi would wanna come with her "Oh yeah.. sure I guess" Gigi tried to sound normal

They walked to the parking lot side by side approaching Crystals car "So... do you not drive?" Crystal asked trying to prompt a conversation "Well I’m only 15, so no" she replied awkwardly "Oh yeah! I forgot you look older to be honest" Crystal replied "You’re 16 right?" Gigi forcing herself to engage in the conversation so Crystal wouldn’t think she didn’t wanna be friends "Yeah!" She said opening the car door for Gigi then going over to her own side. "Hey.. I know we don’t know each other well but you seem off are you okay?" Crystal asked puzzled due to Gigi’s quietness since lunch period "Yeah.. I’m okay"

They pulled up to Crystals house "Thanks Crystal" Gigi said as she exited her car "Anytime sweetheart!" The pet new took Gigi by shock but she ignored it and went over to her house and walked through the door confused about the way Crystal acted around her despite the girl Gigi had met that addressed Crystal as baby. Her dad wasn’t there to greet her when she arrived home as usual. She missed her mom they got along much better but when she passed they moved back to her dads hometown. Gigi’s dad had the money to live in L.A still, he was very welthy but he decided against it despite Gigi’s begging to stay. Gigi made her way up the stairs to her bedroom and pulled out her phone and called her friend Caleb "Hey Geege, how Missouri?" He said after picking up the phone "I don’t know.. but I sure miss home" "Oh no what happened?" Caleb picked up right away "It’s no big deal honestly.. just this girl that lives across the street" "Wow she must be something if she can shake Gigi Goode" he joked they went on to talk about Crystal and Gigi explained to Caleb what happened "Geege it sounds like she’s interested, which is weird since you said she has a girlfriend.. are you sure they’re dating and not just being friendly?" He questioned "Well not exactly but they seem very close and touchy so it’s pretty obvious" *ding* "Oh! Gotta go Caleb someone’s at the door call you later" Gigi then hopped down the stairs to see who it was then opening the door to be greeted by Crystal.
