Happy Friday Everyone! Lets dive into our next ep.

1x05 'The Round-up'

Tim being excited about the round-up is actually pretty cute. He’s like a kid in a candy store. There’s an excited spark there it’s adorable. This clearly means a great deal to him. Shock surprise Tim Bradford is competitive. Who would've thunk?

Lucy is about to see the extent Tim is willing to go in order to win this competition. She's about to see a side to Tim she hasn't experienced yet. First would be his incredibly competitive side. She's about to see how serious he takes this. Second is a side that shocks her. Him being super nice and flirty with someone. Her reaction to seeing this is priceless. She has no idea who this person is with Nell but its not Tim LOL

Tim is giving it his all to Nell. Laying it on super thick. Lucy’s face as Tim flirts with her. I’m dying. She’s like who are you? And what have you done with Tim Bradford? Melissa's facial expression is killing me 😂 She must feel like she is on another planet while Tim works his magic.

Naturally she was quick to be on his ass about keeping it fair. Never misses a beat with him. Cracks me up. Always ready to speak her mind with him, this time she backtracks wasn't worth it to hang out in the drunk tank haha He's ready to do anything and everything to win this whether she's on board or not.

Even though she’s not supposed to be his ‘Pollyanna’ that doesn't stop her from bringing up Nell. She knows what he’s doing is wrong. Using his charm and good looks to get what he wants from her. He clearly thinks it’s harmless... Where she knows what he’s doing isn’t ok. She's doing more than just a 'Favor' Timothy and you know it.

He's always so defensive when's she’s calling him on his shit. Lucy has his number and he's still not used to it. So naturally he shuts down the convo before it can go any further. Goes right back into hard ass T.O. mode. Its a default for him when he's not wanting to deal with something with her. That tough love coming out in lieu of continuing with Lucy's line of questioning.

I couldn't find a gif set of the DUI call they get. But its a good scene for them. You see Lucy questioning Tim and his motives. Their suspect has been impaled and bleeding out. Tim reading his rights just until he about passes out. He demands to get a blood sample before he's loaded into the ambulance. Tim claims to get him in a jail cell and not to lose evidence.

She is wondering if he was trying to get their suspects blood because they should or because it was good for their score. When the man was bleeding out in front of them. It clearly shakes her when he tells her their suspect doesn't get a pass just because he got a boo-boo. Then tells her to put their score on the board once they get the blood. Which is conflicting her further. She’s not sure why he’s pushing so hard to win this thing.

They go to lunch after where Nolan only serves to piss her off LOL She’s clearly grumpy in the shop after her lunch talk with Nolan. So Tim tries to engage her and talk about the DUI they had. Reminding her that what they did was the right thing. That its their job pretty or not. It's all about ‘maintaining perspective.’ Right before they get their next call about a armored truck being stolen.

Her throwing his words right back at him shortly after they get this call is primo. I’ll always love how Lucy calls him on his crap no hesitation whatsoever. He tries to deter her with 'tough love' and all it does is spurn her on. I love their dynamic so much. She refuses to be anything but herself with him. Speaking her mind even when he clearly doesn't know what to do with it.

Naturally he replies defensively cause he’s not used to a worthy opponent like her. She returns fire with him no matter what. That part of their relationship is so key to them. Her challenging him. There was an article where Eric said ‘Lucy returns fire with care. ‘ 100% what she does. She's not afraid to fight this man who's clearly made other rookies tremble. He’s definitely never experienced this with any other rookie.

I love Talia and Angela rigging the competition for him. Their secret way of showing him they care, and know what this means to him. It's obvious to Lucy there is an emotional component to this for him. She just doesn't understand why. It's why she jumps in on the conversation.

Lucy of course thinking it might be better for his healing to lose. Not be so caught up in this. She’s always looking from the perspective of how to help Tim. How she can best protect his emotional stability. To her makes more sense to have him let it go.

Angela shuts it down with her reply. Lucy realizes this is cathartic for him whether he knows it or not. Then concedes to Angela’s point. Tim is clearly still a hot mess still when it comes to Isabel. To let him have one thing that doesn’t send him completely off the edge about her is huge. That look of realization is written all over Lucy's face. So she lets it go after that.

We get to the end and yay Tim and Lucy have “won” the competition. Tim owes Nell a drink. We do see Tim does grow in this ep. (Because of Lucy of course). Not that he is realizing that at this point. But he does realize she’s right and he’s been leading Nell on. Owns up to the hot mess he currently is and lets her know he’s married and it’s complicated. Her reply is hilarious ‘I don’t do complicated’ baha

Not really a lot of non chenford side notes for me in this one.

Just getting past the cringey post breakup stuff with Lucy and Nolan. Lucy nailed it at the beginning of the ep. ‘You were on the rebound from 20 year marriage this was never gonna last.’ Sure wasn’t one of many reasons it wasn’t going to.

what are your thoughts on kana and if aka will actually let her find out about the revenge plot eventually

Imo, it's pretty inevitable that Kana is going to find out about Aqua's revenge plan - it feels very intentional that the movie arc is pretty much the first time he's been willing to actively involve and manipulate Kana specifically for his own ends and I don't think it's a coincidence that this is only happening now Aqua is at his lowest point. Involving Kana to such a degree really feels like Aqua choosing to cross a line he had previously drawn for himself in terms of involving Kana directly with his revenge.

After all, I don't think it's accidental or due to a lack of focus that Kana has largely remained ignorant to this side of Aqua - rather, I think it's representative of the fact that Kana and his friendship with her is, in a lot of ways, a sort of refuge for Aqua, a window into a life as a normal teenager. As he himself put it all the way back in chapter 30, Kana is one of the few people in his life Aqua feels he can talk to without any manipulation or ulterior motives and it's clear he deeply values this aspect of their relationship. Through Kana, a lot of Aqua's worst traits are sort of filtered through a brighter, kinder lens and she brings a lot of his better traits out of him - his playful sense of humour, his sense of care and duty to the people around him, that sort of thing. Even the parts of himself he hates are softened a bit. For the like, five of you who occupy the middle of the "Oshi no Ko enjoyer" and "Umineko Enjoyer" Venn diagram, through Aqua and Kana's friendship, we (and arguably Aqua) are able to see him with love.

It's why I think it's not just inevitable but outright necessary that Kana find out about everything going on with Aqua. Aqua's arc during this stretch of the manga has been about him desecrating all his most important relationships and finally crossing the line in actively manipulating and involving Kana is part of that desecration. It's such a big shift in the status quo of their relationship that it necessitates Kana being given the information necessary to join everyone else in shaking him and going STOP RUINING YOUR LIFE, DIPSHIT!!!!

Anyway uh as you can probably tell by all that, I really like Kana! She's probably my favourite member of the cast who is not Ai and I think it's partially because her arc hits on a lot of similar beats to the ones that made Ai so compelling for me. She is definitely not on the same level of Brain Melting Blorbo as Ai obviously is for me lol but she touches on those same issues of lingering damage caused by childhood abuse, exploitation and abandonment and the kinds of things that pain does to you as you grow up. She engages with these themes in a way that is distinct enough from Ai to feel refreshing and honest while also, imo, being in conversation with it enough that it all coheres quite nicely.

I also just think she's fun and cute! The anime in general and its handling of the material is what finally made me really click with Oshi no Ko and Kana is, imo, second only to Ai in being the best served by the adaptation. She's plenty fun in the manga obviously but the anime puts a really tangible amount of love and care into its portrayal of her and does so many fun and cute things with her character acting it's really hard not to be endeared to her. I liked her fine during my first pass of the manga but it was definitely the anime that turned me into a card carrying Arima Kana Enjoyer. A big part of what has me so excited about season 2 is knowing that some of her best moments after going to get that same loving treatment and I can't wait to see it!

catie let’s discuss vettonso headcanons what are ur favs

*sends you to my vettonso tag* shsjkdkf kidding kidding, but wah this is so weirdly hard to answer despite the fact that I think about them literally every day of my life, ig they're just kinda intrinsic to me 😭 but I'll try my best!

I think Fernando really resented Seb for a while, especially during the championship fight years, and originally was very unhappy when Seb then went on to take his Ferrari seat away from him too. But then while he was gone from f1, he kept track of f1 still and realized Seb was going through the same ferrari bs and pain and failure to realize your childhood dream that he himself went through, and he then softened on Seb.

I find them literally to be the same person(but their narratives are offset.) And I think that's a big reason why they never really became friends, they're *too* similar to the point where it annoys each other too much fhfkkff Especially bcs theyre always ahead of one another in the narrative(fernando won his wdc before, fernando is in ferrari before Seb, seb is in Aston before Fernando, etc.) It's just weird to kinda witness someone that's so similar to you, but at a past stage in your life.

They would be the best and most annoying teammates ever. I think they'd both just constantly try to out-compete each other, and maybe it would be toxic back in the day and make the team fall apart like 2007 mclaren or martian rbr, but if it happened at Aston, I think it would actually make the team stronger and the car better. Like fighting for "who can give the best feedback" "who can do the most sim time" etc etc, I think it'd be really sweet 🥹🥹 I just imagine them making post-race debriefs last like 5 hours, except everyone else snuck out of the room at the hour mark, and they've just been debating abt the telemetry at each other, cause they only have eyes for each other <3

^ but yeah seriously think they have the type of competition that could bring each other together, not drive each other apart. Especially at their softened old man age. I guess I think, being forced into such close quarters with each other, they'd be able to realize how similar they are. Bcs otherwise it's just too easy for them to avoid each other. I mean I think a lot about the japan 2023 pics, them talking over the car that was practically the product of their joint effort, and that makes me so emotional 🤧

They absolutely love irritating each other, irs like a sport. I like to think though that Seb kept doing it soooo much pre-Fernando first retirement, and Fernando was always like 😐 just sooooo done with it, and often unwilling to fully play along. I love how seemingly Seb is one of the only ones who can kinda make his mask break, and have him show full annoyance. Like think about the "you must leave the space" clip, Fernando is sooooo annoyed, its just so funny. But yeah I love how Seb kinda forces Fernando in a way most others don't, if that makes sense? And then he comes back, rejuvenated, different mindset, and is suddenly willing to play along??? And now Seb is the tired one :( but Fernando has realized all he was blocking out before, and is willing to engage :,) BUT YEAH! see again, think about the fact that Seb literally paid a fee to not listen to Fernando talk. Mutually they are the only ones that annoy the other so much that they crack to that point, and I love it seemingly swapped over time. They're just such equals in that way.

Here's the interesting thing, I find them to be mirrors, right? I think like if they met each other when each were at the same place in their career(i.e. ferrari Fernando with ferrari seb, renault wdc fernando with rbr wdc seb), I think they'd have a better chance of getting along. Cause they understand where the other is at deeply, but the way it is in real life makes it so they're at different points and suddenly are at odds with each other. Ig that's why I wish we got them as teammates at Aston! It was pretty cute with alpine fernando x aston seb, but ah man if only we got the actual "conclusion", I would have loved to see what they'd be like when genuinely in the same parts of their career together. I think a lot about timeswap AUs I guess. Like both of them at ferrari being able to commiserate together, their wdc selves bragging about how many races they won(until they find out who the other had to beat to become wdc, and then they choke each other out.)

A Christmas to Remember

Summary: proposal season always brings you down, until its your turn

Warnings: none other than extreme cuteness

Unlike many others he had dated, you had known Rudy since middle school. You had seen him go from a shy, lanky kid into a handsome, talented man and you had somehow loved him through it all, whether you were willing to admit it or not. After dating off and on through high school you had drifted apart; you moving away to go to college and Rudy starting his acting career. The timing just never seemed to work out no matter how much you both wanted it to.

You couldn’t remember exactly how you had come back into each other’s lives, all you knew was that as soon as it happened you were all in. You quickly dove back into your old routines, falling back into a comfortable relationship that quickly flourished. Moving in together, adopting pets, everything seemed to come easily. Except for a proposal. Each year you were together you got your hopes up that it would finally be time to get engaged, but each time you were disappointed. 

His hesitancy to commit further was frustrating. After all, nothing would really change other than a stronger commitment to each other. He had even mentioned multiple times about how he wants to spend the rest of his life with you, unable to imagine each day without you by his side. The holidays always brought along further disappointment, every day seeing more and more women get engaged. You even debated deleting your social media until after the season had passed, tired of feeling like your moment would never come. 

On your way to your hometown to visit with family he takes an unexpected turn. “Rudy - where are you going babe? You were supposed to keep going straight back there.” He smiles, resting his hand on your thigh as he drives back a two lane country road. “Relax sweetheart. I have a surprise that you’re going to love.” Your heart kicks up a beat, anxiety wracking your system at the thought of what it could be. After all, you weren’t a huge fan of surprises.

Your opinion changes immediately when you pull up to the beginning of a huge Christmas Lights Festival. The soft glow of each display makes the snow on the ground sparkle, drawing your eyes to take in the beauty in front of you. “Oh my gosh. It's beautiful!” you exclaim as you exit his car. He takes your hand, leading you down a winding path that leads through the different displays. Each part of the festival is themed: Toy Land, Under the Sea, Space, Dinosaurs, each set of lights somehow more impressive than the last.

He can’t help but smile at you, your face lighting up like a kid’s on Christmas morning. Christmas lights were always one of your favorite parts of the season, bringing back those warm fuzzy feelings you associate with holiday magic. You stop to take in the favorite piece you have crossed so far, synchronized snowflakes in all different colors twinkling across the archways. Rudy pulls out his phone to snap a few candid photos of the wonder on your face, wanting to capture the moment. “You look beautiful in the snow,” he murmurs, pulling you in for a sweet kiss before taking your hand again and leading you around the bend in the sidewalk. 

You could never have been prepared for the next display. In large letters, the words “Will you marry me?” are spelled out in flashing red and green lights that dance to the beat of the music playing. You turn around searching for Rudy, thinking surely this must be some kind of joke. Instead you find him down on one knee, unshed tears in his eyes as he holds up a little black box with a beautiful diamond ring inside. You tremble as you walk towards him, tears already sliding down your cheeks, truly not believing that this is really happening. “Y/n, I love you so much. With all of my heart. You have always been there for me for all of my successes and failures. I can’t imagine spending my life without you by my side. Princess, will you marry me?” 

Your legs can no longer hold you up, dropping to your knees in front of him as he reaches to wipe the tears from your face. “Yes Rudy. Yes!” He slides the ring onto your finger and time stops. The lights fade into the background as you take in the sheer euphoria of this moment. He folds you into his arms, peppering kisses all over your face before cupping your cheeks softly, sealing the moment with a kiss on your lips. Minutes seem to pass before you break apart, his megawatt smile mirroring yours as he helps you to your feet. This surprise couldn’t have been more perfect and you feel like the luckiest girl in the world. 

You spend the rest of the evening in pure bliss, sipping hot chocolate as you sit beside a bonfire snuggled against Rudy’s side. “I can’t wait to tell everyone. They’re gonna be so happy.” He smiles, hugging you tightly as he basks in the warmth from your smile. “I can’t wait for you to be my wife. We better hire a wedding planner so I don’t have to wait too long - Mrs. Pankow.” Your stomach flips at the sound of him calling you by his last name, having dreamt of the opportunity for years. “That has a nice ring to it,” you whisper, pulling him in by the front of his coat for another kiss. “Yes fiancé, it sure does.” You pull out your phone, snapping a picture of you sitting in his lap with the ring easily visible within the frame. You post it with the caption “Future Mrs. Pankow”.

so I went to seattle

(looong post ahead)

I travelled! far!!! to a place I haven't been since I was, like... 11, maybe? 12? it's hard to remember, but it has been SUCH a long time since I've been west of, like, St. Louis, and god it feels good (more on that later).

first and foremost: I got to meet the lovely @ticklefighthockey!! she is a delight! she is an immaculate hostess! she has two very adorable dogs who rule her household! she is very good at being game for just about anything!

it was such a treat to meet up with another fandom friend. I am (more on this later) working myself towards a self-understanding that has room for respecting online friendships just as much as in-person ones. I think I still sometimes deal with residual shame over having more online friends than offline friends—just cultural baggage that says people with online friends are losers and socially-inept and weird. while I KNOW that isn't true, I've always had complicated feelings about the fact that since college my primary friendship circle has ALWAYS been online, while that has never been true for people in my offline life.

but (more on this later as well), I'm trying to be more understanding and kind towards myself about that, and trying to embrace the crazy cool uniqueness of it, which is a real gift.

anyways, back to fandom friends I get to hang out with:

isn't that amazing. I was agog at it.

jes is funny and engaging and game for anything! this is wonderful for me, a person who tries very hard to be funny and engaging and game for anything! of course, this meant we were aggressively "NO I WANT YOU TO HAVE THE BEST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE DURING THIS VISIT"-ing at each other constantly through the entire weekend. truly the Nice Gal version of two rams clacking horns, but instead of fighting over potential mates (hi Sid) we were beating each other's skulls silly and yelling "NO BUT WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?"

highly amusing to me, but also very conducive to, in fact, having the best experience possible. we ran around town desperately trying to cram things into an incredibly condensed schedule, but I felt like I saw so much!

we were able to take her dogs—who are truly delightful and DECEPTIVELY YOUNG. you wouldn't know from how she talks about pip but he is 100% pure muscle (could give hornqvist a run for his money) and deeply willing to play tug-of-war until someone dies (it will be you. you will be the one to die. he will win.) and darling ruthie who will hate you until she decides she likes you (this will likely involve carrots) and after she likes you she does indeed become the precious angel baby of legend—out on an OUTDOOR HIKE! through a FOREST! near a LAKE!

these are in fact pedestrian things in seattle but to me, a poor midwesterner who lives on the very very tippy top of the appalachian region, this was GREAT FUN and MUCH EXCITEMENT. so we harnessed the dogs and embarked upon what we thought was a leisurely 4.2 mile hike and instead ended up being a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am-please-take-care-not-to-step-off-the-path-by-a-few-inches-lest-you-immediately-tumble-down-a-hundred-foot-ravine-to-your-grisly-(but-green-and-verdant!)-death-while-also-dragging-a-muscled-dog-with-you 0.42 mile MAD DASH.

we sped through it thanks to aforementioned muscled dog (and sister) having zero regard for imminent death (who cares about PERILOUS TRAILS when there are THINGS TO SNIFF) and at its end was a lake! wow!

it was gorgeous and lovely and I would, in fact, hike a death-defying 0.42 miles again to see it.

then I successfully talked jes into letting me swing by pike place market (literally solely for the 'gram), but there was some fall festival going on, which is cute but also made it crowded as shit, so I took my coveted pic and bolted

walking through downtown seattle was nice, even if I had to kind of jog because my days of making friends who are shorter than me (which is a feat) are over, and I am now cursed with friends who are in fact above average height, which makes me feel weird and also short (which I am). I liked seeing the city and also sort of being able to confirm that the city is nice and good and not what the NIMBYs and right-wing pundits would have you believe has happened to seattle. it's a good city! it's beautiful! literally everyone I met was so nice! (except for one kraken fan but we'll get to him).

speaking of hockey:

my god, does seattle know how to put on a show. I was agog at the arena. it is shiny and new and impressive and beautiful and full of wood paneling and GREENERY and all the athletic, clear-faced seattleites who occupy the city. I was in a state of shock. this is, in fact, the first NHL arena I've been to that isn't PPG Paints.

and it is so beautiful that i was immediately consumed with envy. how dare this new team, with all its west coast wealth, have better accommodations and audiovisuals and LIGHT UP SCULPTURES than my legacy appalachian team?

I swallowed my jealousy down and just took it all in. they basically put on a full amazon original before each period. there is LORE and the kraken entreat you to buy into it with full casts and impressive animations and a glow-in-the-dark tentacle erupting out of the ice. it is very effective. I did, in fact, buy merch.

also I dragged jes around during an intermission to track down the band and drumline because I fucking love a good drumline and if the pens knew what was good for them they would iNVEST IN A DRUMLINE

but I was thinking to myself that this is literally exactly how you build a fanbase. this is hockey made thrilling. this is excitement. this is a PRODUCTION. this is what the golden knights want to be. this is, verily, the exact sort of shindig I would bring a kid to if I endeavored to make them into a hockey fan. I think it would work. it was a whole experience in the way pens games just... are not. pens games are hockey games! a kraken game is a circus, a TV show, and a lightshow with also some hockey. I was so blown away.

but let's get to why I was there:

I'm pleased to report geno looks as pretty in white in person as he does on tv. he is so big. he never, as jes puts it, shuts his mouth. ever.

sid was also there I guess. here's a rearview shot:

jes got to witness firsthand how I physically cannot shut up during a hockey game (I regret to inform you all that I am the "talking to the players/the universe in a desperate plea for good bounces" sort of fan), and was also witness to me laughing hysterically, truly like a madwoman, when the two kraken goals were called back. jes has a better recap of the game, but I can just say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have seen much more embarrassing defeats at the hands of much less entertaining teams, so I was ready to bear that cross.

that being said, there was a drunk kraken fan the row ahead of us who was verbally harassing a penguins fan in his row. he was yelling at him, trying to get his attention by calling him "letang" (the jersey the pens fan was wearing), and even threw the free giveaway hat at him to try and get his attention. mr. not-letang very smartly sat still and refused to look over. I was disappointed at that behavior and also really displeased that the drunk fan's friend didn't do jack shit to stop his behavior... but that's drunk people for you, I guess!

anyways when the kraken scored the (first) empty netter I turned to jes and said we should blow this popsicle stand. and that we did lol. I regret none of it! pens you suck and I love you so dearly <3

the next day I tearfully said goodbye to my new best friend, ruthie, and then maybe waved at jes idk who cares (I'm joking, we—after very extensive fanfic brainstorming sessions in the car to and from brunch—expressed SO EARNESTLY and HEARTFELT-LY how much we enjoyed the trip, as we were both so determined to Get A Good Grade In Visiting Fandom Friends, Something Normal To Want And Possible To Achieve).

and then I got to see my aunt and uncle! they moved out there for the tech boom back in the 90s and have been there ever since. they're incredibly cool and we talked SO much

(something else I've learned about myself as an adult: I talk way too fucking much. I thought it was bad when I had an in-person job, and now that I do WFH it's literally like I'm being paid by the word I speak. big kudos to anyone who's withstood being near me for longer than an hour).

my aunt took me on a hike and we got to see old-growth forest AND a lake AND the skyline, which was so sick

talking with her was incredible. she's a very interesting person and a complete city-slicker and is... kind of eerily like me? like I saw a lot of similarities between her and I as we talked and interacted with my uncle. we have similar communication styles and I see myself a bit in her. something that's heartening to me is that she's, like... in her late 50s and childless and so youthful and full of attack attack go go go energy and has the same ruthless desire to UNDERSTAND and BE UNDERSTOOD that I do, and I liked talking with her. she's so receptive to youth culture and to aspects of things she doesn't understand in her quest to understand them, and it makes for such engaging conversation.

my uncle, too, is really neat. I like him so much, and I wish I knew more about him? my dad is so reticent about his family sometimes, and I'm still so desperately trying to tease out the full story of what growing up in that family was like (for longtime followers, this is my uncle who got written out of my grandma's will). he has great energy and is pretty chill (and was literally recovering from intense hip surgery while I was there, he's such a champ haha) and I wish I could see him and my dad interact more. why did all my dad's brothers have to scatter across this country??

he found me interesting, I could tell, and that was really validating and nice. we had awesome conversations about how I got into hockey (my aunt is super, like... 2nd-wave-y feminist and does not get my hockey love due to the sport's chauvinism) and also how I found community online. my aunt is a writer in her free time and hasn't ever really been able to find her niche online and really wanted my input about how I'd been able to befriend people across the country, and world, online.

that too was really validating and cool. I've always sort of put myself down about not having as many IRL friends, but seeing it through their eyes sort of helped me shift my mindset. I DO have amazing friends! they're close mentally if not physically! and they lead to amazing things! they were so jazzed about me hosting friends from all over the country who'd come to visit me in the name of hockey. while I get all whiny about not having enough people to do stuff with locally, my aunt was like "you have friends WHERE?" and they were so into it. they loved that I had worldwide friends and was finding connection wherever I went. it was great.

also we saw jesus at a grocery store. yes, it was halloween, but it was a funny encounter. he was in the produce section.

then we went to a WATERFALL that was TERRIFYING IN ITS SCALE

this thing was incredible and man... man... I need to go back. I have to. I always thought as a kid that I'd end up moving out west. even before my twilight phase got me fully obsessed with washington, I loved the look and nature and majesty of the PNW. since the first time I visited there, I knew something about that area spoke to me.

and it was so, so cool to reconnect with that after over a decade away. when I was there I felt like a sort of... idealized version of myself. like that version was within reach. that I could become a really cool version of myself if I lived there. an alternate path, you know?

maybe the PNW is in my future. it could be. I always thought it would be as a kid. funnily enough, a hockey team got in the way and sent me east instead, but like I always say... I don't know if pittsburgh is forever! I want to live a grand adventure, and I want to live many places, and maybe one day I wind up there for a spell.

there's just something about that part of the country. something about me when I'm there.

this was such a good vacation. it was short, but it was honestly practically idyllic. I will be back. hopefully soon. there is so much unexplored... I want to devour that state over a summer one day.

people are great. friends are great. family is great. nature is great. life is good.

more ciro/kaisei/yakumo musingsss

I was thinking how kaisei is big on going out and socializing. going to parties, clubs, bars, concerts, anywhere people get together to have fun.

yakumo and ciro are both less inclined to want to do those things. however, their repsonses to kaisei are way different. yakumo begrudingly will go with kaisei, prefer to be by himself most of the time and let kaisei go talk to people on his own, and ultimately leave kaisei disappointed that he might as well have gone alone. he's also harder to convince to even go out in the first place, saying that he has too much work to do or he doesn't have the energy.

but on the other hand, ciro is different. he will often stay close to kaisei because he doesn't want to be alone amongst a lot of people, and once he's comfortable with a group, he'll open up and participate. he might try to convince kaisei to stay at home and just them hang out sometimes, but he knows kaisei likes going out, and so when it has been a while since they'd done so, he'll simply sigh and concede; he knows as long as he sticks with kaisei, they'll end up having a good time anyways.

i was thinking about ciro vs yakumo's responses to kaisei being flirted with by other people 👀👀👀

yakumo tends to ignore it and not care. he's used to people being loose (as we know, coughs), so he doesn't see it as a big deal. it also goes deeper, in the way that even though he's with kaisei, it's hard for him to wrap his head around being with him. kaisei tries to deal with the pang of sadness that yakumo won't really stand up for him even though they're dating. when kaisei brings it up later that he's hurt that yakumo won't make it clear they're dating, yakumo just brushes kaisei off as being too concerned with unimportant things, even though thats not what's bothering him.

but then you have ciro, who like i said mostly sticks with kaisei when they go out, making opportunities for kaisei to be alone and courted by randos less likely in the first place. in the event that one or other has to be alone (going to the bathroom, taking a quick phone call, or something like that), if ciro comes back to find someone flirting with kaisei, its.

ok its cute, ciro has gotten to know that if kaisei is uncomfortable, he'll start rubbing his arms. so if ciro comes back and his sleeves are all pushed up or his hands are stuck on his elbows, he'll make himself very well known by hugging and cuddling up to kaisei.

its also cute because that little quirk is a two way thing - ciro messes with his bangs when he doesn't want to keep being around someone, and kaisei has picked up on that being his nervous habit, and he'll do the same for ciro; making it very clear that he has a boyfriend.

i know once yakumo he realizes that he let go of someone very precious and that it wasn't entirely kaisei's fault for it and it was partly on him for being stubborn and selfish, i think he finds someone he can talk to (could be a professional, could just be someone who's willing to listen and be a friend to him - truly a friend, and not secretly a fuck buddy)

and once he accepts his own past and insecurities, he begins to think about what he would want from a relationship, and if and when someone comes along that seems like he'll be a good partner to, he'll be ready to take that leap and truly be ready to become someone that is willing to love.

and and and

i always go back to this, i like to think by the time ciro and kaisei are engaged, yakumo has gone through this growth on his own.

but ciro knows that kaisei cut ties with him, and even though he has his reservations about yakumo, he knows from kaisei that their parting was not ideal. and ciro being willing to reach out to yakumo to invite him to their wedding is big too; ciro, who gets jealous pretty easily, who can't stand how yakumo had hurt kaisei, is willing to extend a hand to him and say, "i know you fucked up, but i think you've grown and i'm secure enough with my lover that i think you two should try to come to better terms with each other, if for nothing else than for kaisei's peace of mind."

to which yakumo does accept that invite, even if its only for a short time at the reception, allowing him and kaisei to finally come to a clean end to how things were between them for a long time, and the possibility of going back to a real, genuine friendship they once shared.

RWBY Volume 9 Ep 3 - Rude, Red, and Royal

This episode frustrated me a bit at first but got very interesting in the end. And then I rewatched it and this whole post just kind of happened.

- “Uh... are we sure we should do this?” Yeah, the longer all of their interactions with the Red Prince kept going on, the more I was wondering why they were even doing this in the first place. “Because the Red King helped Alyx in the book” - okay, but clearly the Red Prince is completely different and not willing to help whatsoever. So why engage with him in the first place? It didn’t seem like he was ever going to help them so like... should have just let Yang rough up those guards in Ep2 (since he beheaded them anyways) - but then again, maybe not following the path of the story wouldn’t have worked?

- I also think it’s interesting how because “The Girl who fell through the World” and “Alice in Wonderland” are not exactly the same story, there are moments where we as viewers know more than the characters do. For instance, they think the Red King will help them, but all of us know that the Queen of Hearts is bad news.

- I love Weiss and Yang not even pretending to be nice with their birthday wishes.

- So instead of the Queen of Hearts hating white roses, we have the Red Prince hating green things - nice reference, including the “Off with their heads!” thing. And gosh, Ruby’s heartbroken expression when she says “How could you?” after he throws Penny’s sword away - she needs to come back and get it PLEASE. (And based on the trailer I’m guessing she will.)

- See, and Ruby now offering to cheer the Prince up with a game is what I don’t get. Like, at this point, they should have just left. Clearly this isn’t the King they know from the story and this isn’t working. Oh well.

- Little suggesting “small” as a compliment and then being pleased when it works - I love them.

- “Now we’re all Littles!” Gosh, I love Little so much.

- On a more serious note, Ruby being so scared for her friends during the game really struck a chord with me. She just lost Penny, the girl she loves one of her closest friends, and during this whole scene you can just see the fear in her eyes at the thought of losing someone else. When she says “No one’s going to get hurt, right?”... babygirl :((. (I hate the Red Prince so much ugh.)

- Wait, how did I only notice on my rewatch that the white pieces are losing on purpose at first because the Red Prince tells them to? That was super obvious and I didn’t catch it the first time.

- Aww, Blake blushing when Yang cheers her on is cute.

- When the Red Prince kept asking questions during the game I kept thinking... I don’t think you should be telling him any of this.

- “Little is a mouse... at least I think.” Little is Penny theory confirmed

- The entire fight sequence on the board is abolutely amazing. The music, the choreography, that one epic shot of Weiss... yeah, that’s a really amazing sequence. I get why CRWBY were hyping this episode up for the music.

- But gosh again, pay attention to Ruby during the fight and how worried she is the whole time. This is really freaking her out.

- What freaks me out here is that Blake would have fallen if Little hadn’t grabbed her. Like yikes, that was way too close!

- “unable to do the one thing you were put on this acre to do” Hmm.. so winning board games is the prince’s purpose? I still want to know more about how this whole world works. And who is the curious cat? How do they know so much? Why did they decide to save Team RWBY? I want to understand what’s going on! (I know we’ll find this all out, but I’m impatient.)

- “Change” definitely is an important theme this season. We’ll see where that eventually leads.

- So wait, did the cat... teleport them?

- “Great, so we’re not in the stupid story after all - we’re in its stupid sequel!” Oh, Weiss has the best lines this volume! (Made better by the knowledge that sequels are usually worse.)

- “You’re not nearly as interesting as the others I’ve met.” Okay, plural there - so Alyx isn’t the only human the curious cat has met. Either they already met Jaune and/or Neo, or there have been other humans besides Alyx here before - probably the latter.

- “Can’t anyone here be normal?” I’m kinda feeling you on that rn, Weiss. But then again, this is Alice in Wonderland - "we’re all mad here” and all that.

- Has Yang ever used “Rubes” as a nickname for Ruby before? I like it!

Something, something, brothers of light and darkness...

Green lightning and green rain - so here’s how green symbolizes Penny and therefore her spirit is still in this world... okay that one’s maybe a bit too far-fetched

What is the Jabberwalker holding here? They ask “Fix?” and then throw it away. Looks like a piece of metal? Did anyone get a closer look? Whatever it is, this seems important.

(Okay, far-fetched theory time because I want her back: This is Penny’s core (we don’t know if her new body was fully human - Ambrosius never specified that it was and Team RWBY never specifically asked for it to be) and if Team RWBY take it back to Remnant, Pietro can build Penny a new body and they can revive her again.)

So, Neo falling is represented by a pink comet crashing down. This makes the intro more interesting:

We see a red comet here in the beginning - Ruby, I’m guessing.

And then we see two blue ones here. Now this is interesting. This could be Weiss, but who else? Jaune fell after Ruby, but wouldn’t his be yellow? And why only show Weiss and not the others? I think it’s more likely that this is either Alyx and someone else (the other human the curious cat has met?), or that it’s Alyx twice if she’s reliving her story in a time-loop like some people have theorized. But I think it’s the former, as we also see someone else behind Alyx here:

So yeah, I think there was definitely someone else with Alyx.

- Also, since Neo and Ruby/Blake fell at the same time, but Neo is only landing now, that makes me wonder how time works here and if Jaune has even landed yet.

- So wait, did Neo’s semblance just evolve? She seems surprised at the copies of herself suddenly appearing, so this seems new. Really cool, but at the same time Neo was already one of the most op characters in the show; so this is kinda terrifying.

- Aww, poor Jabberwalker, I feel bad for them. Let Team RWBY befriend the scary monster, actually.

Yeah, interesting episode - but I need to know how it goes on now please.

1. what, specifically, was the catalyst for their physical attraction (if applicable) to the other character? In other words, what in particular had them like “Oh, they’re…hot…”

din: she’s got him pinned with her lightsaber to his neck while she’s trying to train him to fight with the darksaber, and there’s a moment a la princess mononoke when he’s like oh. hm. if he hadn’t been fearing for his life during their first encounter he probably would have noticed her appearance a little more, but at the time he uhhh was too worried about getting his head cut off  :)

jael: shootout on batuu. maybe it’s adrenaline, but she sees his like. over-competence and the way he handles a blaster and can only stand there like 🧍‍♂️ for a sec

2. does this change over time? what things do they find “hot” about their partner after they’ve been together for some time, and have had more time to, well, notice and appreciate?

din: her eyes make him feel like a prey animal (he’s called them jaig eyes before which makes her laugh) and he likes putting little braids in her hair (grogu picks up on this and tries doing it too. its cute) she’s also like Fit and built for fighting Creatures and the like so once he feels like he’s allowed to find her body Hot he super super Does

jael: once she sees his face she pretty much immediately finds that attractive (his eyes are special to her bc not many have gotten to see them the way she has), but she also likes the physicality of him, too. his back. his neck. girl get into it. 

3. by contrast, what was the moment that first made their ~heart~ Soft for the other person? not necessarily a conscious realization of “I love this person,” but a moment that had them like “Oh…I adore them…”

din: he sees how she is with the people in her hive (lore stuff) on Ead, and how much she cares for them, and is kind of immediately drawn to that, but it’s during Batuu Shenanigans where they’re both very much out of their element and in close quarters and have to rely on each other that he sort of has that little mermaid kiss the girl moment and is like wait i think you’re really important to me now. and then she meets grogu and immediately clicks with him and that’s what makes din go wow i think i love her. 

jael: once she got to see a little more of his emotive side—they’re both reserved people outside of their circles, so she knew something had changed between them (again. on batuu) when he opened up to her and was willing to talk to her about his like.. crisis of identity/faith/purpose. she went oh. i think i care you. and when he takes her to tattooine and boba calls her ‘friend’ she goes. we are friends!!!

4. does this change over time? what will always reliably make them melt with how much they adore the other character?

din: what can i say, he’s attracted to conviction in leadership, so idk if it’s attraction or a sense of pride when he sees her being a good leader to her people, but he never gets tired of seeing her be compassionate and competent. ALSO he thinks she’s so incredible bc of what she can do through the force too so like. all around he’s just a big fan LMAO he’s her biggest fan

jael: she is not immune to din with Baby. it’s sweet to her. and when he engages in her planet’s culture and comes alongside her to like give her support she remembers all over again why she fell in love with this dude in the first place. this includes when he tries to engage with force stuff, because she knows he doesn’t get it, but he’s willing to understand (for her, for grogu) and that’s SPECIAL to her bc she hasn’t had someone who wants to Get Her like that before. tee hee

5. how do they consciously realize that they like the other character? does it take them a while?

din: ok so for some story lore they have to act sort of undercover while Doing Stuff on batuu bc of their respective statuses, and they both kind of stick out like a sore thumb even on that planet, so people assume they’re a traveling couple bc why wouldn’t they? and he doesn’t realize how much he sort of enjoys that role until they go back to ead and don’t have to do that anymore. he does not want to confront that btw he has too much goin on!!!

6. how do they react to the realization that they like the other character? is it an “oh my god I’m never going to think about this again” thing, or are they pretty comfortable with it?

din: he is definitely less willing than she is to admit that to himself, but there’s a situation right before they leave batuu for ead where he’s sort of forced to realize he can’t keep her out and still like. have her you know!!!!!

jael: it’s a very new feeling for her since she hasn’t had the.. like luxury, in a way? of a relationship like this before but she feels very strongly (in all aspects tbh) so once she has that little realization moment it’s definitely like a switch was flipped and she starts noticing every little thing he does or every little touch. yearn more, idiot

7. do they (or would they) pursue the other character’s affection, and if so, how? do they tell the other character how they feel? try to earn their admiration? woo them with romantic gestures? flirt with them, skillfully or otherwise?

din: he’s blunt, so once he comes to his senses, yes he tells her (he tells her first!!!) but even before that he finds her a new kyber crystal to replace the one he evaporates :) he does flirt, in his awkward way, but only whenever it’s the two of them. i think there’s probably a part of him, too, that sees her ability as a leader and tries to live up to that, like he’d be a little less reckless because he knows it would upset her etc etc

jael: she likes to fluster him, but she’s also like not mean about it. oh she does clean his armor for him in the Before times which like. in his eyes was as much as a marriage proposal. and while she’s not doing it for din’s benefit, she does give grogu some force training (not jedi training. that was some guy named luke’s job and he fumbled the bag.) and is by extension another guardian figure for him, which does endear her to din in a big way!!!!

TL;DR ⸻ this is the story of how a young boy has been trapped in his hometown by his weak-willed heart, who follows everyone else’s wishes of him despite longing to be discovering the world and viewing it with his own eyes instead of through photographs. he has accepted that fate current roots him to stardew valley, though he hopes one day he can develop the courage to stand up to his parents who’ve set his future in stone.

his family owns and operates sunshine animal hospital, and they help with aiding the locals’ pets and their farm animals ( if they have any ).

he’s always wanted to leave pelican town and travel the world… but his parents have set him up to eventually take over their family business with no room to debate. he’s currently trying to accept his fate but it’s so hard when he sees others coming & going all the time.

initially wanted to be a musician, but he’s lost hope for this dream and has turned it into more of a hobby. no longer sings, bc he’s not confident enough to try anymore, but he plays guitar for the lil animals he gets to care for ♡

he is an only child, which is the primary reason why his parents are so set on having him take over sunshine animal hospital when they retire. he was interested in the idea when he was a child — who can really blame him, working with cute animals for the rest of his life was a dream ! — but now that he’s older, the idea has lost a bit of its lustre.

studied & graduated from the university of stardew back in 2019, although he’s qualified as a veterinary technician, he is usually his father’s right-hand assistant as opposed to working on his own. when he’s out doing work with farm animals though he’s def by himself and able to show off his knowledge !

junhee really loves his work, so much to the point that he absolutely will not stop until someone is pushing him out of the doors. sometimes work genuinely doesn’t feel like actual work to him, but then there are other times when he wants to just get as much as he can done without any regard for time.

once he passes out he’s out for a good ten hours ! luckily for him, his parents aren’t the type to ignore his health — it’s purely self-sabotage. you’d think for someone who studied medicine he would be more careful, right?

when he isn’t working, he frequents local cafes, the beach, and the community center ! he’s always down for fun and good vibes, which what he considers the best reward after working super hard all week.

he likes meeting new people and hearing about their hometowns !! he may not be able to travel but he likes listening to all the stories anyone is willing to share ( a great listener btw, always super engaged ! ). he keeps a notebook of places he’d like to visit with little notes on what others have told him about these places so he doesn’t forget why he even wants to go there.

he has two adopted pets, a 3-year old orange tabby cat and a 2-year old black labrador retriever. he adopted both of them for his 24th birthday a year ago, and the three of them have been lowkey inseparable ever since? it’s not uncommon to see him with both of his pets just out and about ! doesn’t usually keep them on leashes ( especially since his cat sits on his shoulders ) mostly bc they’re obedient and friendly, but has them on him just in case someone asks him to.

he’s kind of a shy individual but warms up very quickly to people if the vibes are good. he’s an easy-going type of person who typically follows a crowd but unexpectedly has a fighting spirit if his friends need one ( yet does not fight for himself, a whole other conversation tho ). he’s very protective of those around him and very good at comforting people if anyone needs a shoulder to cry on (✿◠‿◠)

there’s probably more that i’m missing but he’s still kinda newish despite being a remix of all my recent Lost Boy-esque muses in one but i’ll figure it out along the way !!

the platonic soulmate, best friend, ride or die, whatever you wanna call it … basically his #1 and there’s no one he trusts more with his life but them !

i love just having more close friends, either friends separately or they’re considered a #certified_squad within pelican town ♡ kinda like ‘where there’s one, the others aren’t far behind’

i think an adventure buddy would be cute ??? he seems so stuck up since he’s a workaholic but he will always be down for walking around aimlessly with a friend ♡

a classic and typical exes plot … could’ve ended horribly for whatever reason or ended amicably !! he’s completely non-confrontational so ig the worse the situation the more he would avoid them like the plague … but imagine a situation where he can’t avoid them like while he’s working lmfao ( not limited to one muse btw i just didn’t know how to word it )

kinda separate from the exes plot but his first love / kiss / whatever ♡ could’ve been a love from his teen years when they were in high school ( puppy love UwU ) or a love from his early adult years where they’re both more mature ♡ he probably doesn’t have feelings anymore but the affection will always be present !!

speaking of uni, anyone who has attended the university of stardew between the years 2015-2019 could’ve met him there and formed some sort of relationship with him … but what that relationship is is completely up for plotting.

um hello roommate or roommates maybe ??? he moved out of his family home after graduating uni so they could’ve been roomies for a couple years already or they started living together recently ♡

fellow night owls / midnight gremlins … they always see each other late at night either bc their shifts end super late or they simply cannot rest at night. they’ve fallen into a routine where they’ll either go out for food together or stay in his apartment for the majority of the night and just chill~~

i can’t think of any more with details to add but other ideas include: cousins / grew-up-like-siblings friends, people who have pets / livestock who see him regularly/semi-regularly as he is a vet, fellow cat/dog owners who want their babies to have playdates ♡, work out buddy, someone he doesn’t get along w for whatever reason, past pen pal(s) who decided to visit pelican town … also vv down for brainstorming ♡

Ohhhhh I love the idea of Living Doll AU! It sounds sort of cute!

THANK YOU ANON... i've been sitting on this ask for a second hoping to talk more about it as I build up the idea in my mind so I'm really excited to ramble about it I think I'm kind of inspired by things like Utena and Princess Tutu, which are very much fairy tales and allegories but also do a good bit of earnest engagement with their own ideas in like. "This is a concept and a symbol, but also, what does it FEEL like to be a concept or a symbol" ? which is a complex way of saying I've been thinking about the idea of Diavolo's relationship to Doppio, how he has some hand in *shaping* him- he has *made* Doppio, to some extent, since Doppio's own gaps in his memory and specific delusions mean that the backstory that Diavolo gives him has really effected his view of himself as a person but also, like, the relationship between an artist and his work? i think it would be in some ways very cute, like... Diavolo is lonely, and he uses that loneliness to fuel his desire to *create*. Each doll he makes is another attempt to fill this void in his life where he wants someone to *trust* and confide in (but is too afraid of others to ever allow anyone in)- and Doppio I think would very much be a doll he made in the image of the kind of person he longs for; someone sweet and open- not jaded like Diavolo- someone who has all of the features he finds beautiful- not his own, which he finds harsh and unpleasant- someone who he can give the soft pretty clothing he cannot wear on his broad frame, someone who he can dress in all the things he'd never wear SO LIKE there's this element of both wish fulfillment and also "what do you do when your work develops a life of its own outside your control? what do you do when it is no longer something that you choose every decision and detail about? when it begins to grow outside you and become something that means something to others- when that work becomes a connection to someone you love, but you must also accept that the work in that person you love's mind is their own, entirely individual interpretation and experience of that work- and you have to be willing to let it go so they can find their own meaning in it?" (which is a lot of Introspection for a monday morning, but I just love the idea of diavolo as an artist battling with this concept)

their game characterization! i admittedly havent actually read the manga or watched the anime, but i've seen enough screengrabs i’m sure my answer would be the same.

bw/bw2 is just muppet man distillate to me… i love their lines soooooo much, i love that they speak stiffly and strangely in their own ways and i love that their official art from back then makes it look like they pretty much do not emote at all. and you can interpret them in so many different ways! some people hc them as neurodivergent, some dial up the strangeness factor and portray them as almost uncanny, i've even seen some draw them as being nonhuman in some way... they’re just so versatile, it's fun… :>

for ingo, chandelure. it's the pokemon i associate with him the most, but more than that i think it's telling that he remembers it out of all of his partners in PLA? im tempted to think that litwick was his first pokemon, and while it's probably not a very social evolutionary line, the two have a very very close bond. (i think the second closest would be haxorus though… it's this scary intimidating pokemon but its pokedex entries say it's kindhearted? ingo is also a little intimidating on the surface level but he has a good and sweet heart… it's so cute to me!!!)

for emmet, i'd actually say archeops! i hc fossil pokemon as being high maintenance and VERY undomesticated since, well, they're prehistoric! so archeops is this huge loud rowdy bird who needs a special diet and a LOT(!) of engagement and emmet must have really really really wanted one to be willing to take on the responsibility of caring for a fossil pokemon. there is an aged framed photo of archen somewhere in their apartment i know it to be true

Read the All the Kings Horses Chapter and OML I think this might be my favourite chapter yet!!! I love how much fictional Matty cares about his mare. And it being related to the horse he had before?!! Also so cute to see that fictional George might finally be warming up to him.

Are we going to find out more of Matty’s relationship with his mom in this AU or is it more of a leave it up to interpretation kind of thing? I loved the mention last chapter about what it was like for him riding as a kid. But honestly I’m excited over anything you wrote regardless.

I’m loving that the dynamic between the two of them is slowly changing. Possible friendship soon ??? Can’t wait to see what comes in the next chapter :)

Put On Your Raincoats | Future Darkly: Pandemic (Mills, Q. & Vegas, 2021)

This is an anthology porno about life in the pandemic, and far and away the best segment is the third one, “Kate and the Free Man”. Bree Mills at her best, from what I’ve seen of her work, is willing to confront you with a painful emotional state and force you to linger in it in an way that feels affirming. I think that very much applies here to her handling of a heroine struggling with agoraphobia and germaphobia while confined to her house during the pandemic. This segment is under half an hour, but a lot of that time is spent watching the heroine agonizing over her routine and talk to her therapist remotely. Out of the four segments, I think this segment also ties its premise best to its sense of eroticism, as it provides the necessary emotional groundwork for you to understand the heroine’s desire for sex with an anti-masker unburdened by the same anxieties, and the decision to shoot the climax POV style feels like an inspired yet appropriate choice for the fantasy element of this scene.

I think this also benefits greatly from the performance by Cherie Deville, who commits to both the emotional rawness of the material and the physicality of the sex scenes (and engages in some spirited dirty talk, which I guess is a pun here). I will say that I found the performance of Dick Chibbles as the anti-masker (he mutters about “mask wearing pussies” during his first appearance) is a little too convincing, to the point that I found him actively unpleasant and found it hard to see him as a manifestation of her Deville’s desires. And I found the cutaways to him a bit clunky, especially during the sex, but I’m not sure how else this should have been handled. 

So as someone who had some lingering unease about the return to “normal”, I found this segment pretty affecting. And as someone who’s struggled with IRL friendships and leaned on online ones, I was also moved by “Anthony’s Girlfriend”, in which Michael Vegas neglects his relationship with his mother and gets drawn into a relationship with an AI companion. This is a bit more overtly dystopic (I haven’t seen anything else from the Future Darkly series, but my impression is that it’s like a pornographic Black Mirror), but I think it effectively evokes a state of emotional isolation, and has a nicely twitchy performance by Vegas. (Somewhat unexpectedly, this segment forgoes sex altogether, and the hero shows discomfort with the subject anytime it’s brought up.) All of these were made during the pandemic, and I think this one gains the most from its production circumstances. 

So for those two segments, I think this is definitely worth a look. I didn’t find the other segments nearly as involving however, as the sex scenes significantly overstayed their welcome and didn’t feel nearly as charged as the ones in the segment with Deville. I realize that comes rough the territory with modern pornography, but I didn’t find the emotional territory of the premises were satisfyingly explored before they dived into the sex. I do appreciate the first segment willing to deal with the strain of caring for a loved one, and not to sound skeevy, but Lola Fae’s heart tattoos around her nipples in the last segment were super cute, but otherwise I was mostly counting the minutes until they were over.

[parasocial bestie] yes i know its very late night by now yes i will go 2 sleep later BUT LIKE. i got back to remembering wings ask but not exactly continuing the thought but like. idk. something about his wings and lmi and adkjwhfhshd a scene that transpired from the Thought like, when lumine first knew about xiao's wings a little more deeply, listening to what he's willing to speak of the history of it. how he doesnt remember the sensation of flying and using, how he lost it in his past torture, and to the point he just,... leaves it be on his back. it's set before zhongli finds the blueprints, and the story itself stretches a bit to how then xiao began to acknowledge his wings.

anyway back to lumine, xiao had taken it slow to reveal something he never thought of expressing yknow? cus its not like it affects his way of transport, but it does limit the methods, BUT xiao also never used his wings nor remember the experience of it. this is what he tells to her, and it becomes sort of a heart-to-heart discussion. but that's not the entire point tho LMAO what i'm getting at is the way lumine would want to make him feel better by speaking of her own experiences close to what he is; namely, a person with wings. herself, although shes not avian. so she tells him of her experience with bird people from other worlds instead.

like yeah this is the whole point of the thought process basically HSJFJSHFH like, i love that in the years lumine and xiao had been accustomed to each other for these casual but also comfortable conversations, the former just kinda slips in her Otherworlder stories, be it as examples or fun trivia or anything. it doesnt happen necessarily often, but just enough for a chat to be lighter and sparks enough curiosity for xiao to keep engaging or simply listen. so like, in this scene particularly. lumine tells him about how humans with wings are sorta some world's kids' fantasy depictions of angels. or others would think they're gods. or that one time theyre not humans with bird wings but humanoid birds! like, they stand like people but with bird heads like what!! and to xiao who had felt a little bad for dumping his sob story about his wings would be both assured and amused at those stories, changing his mind more and more that maybe. just maybe its worth a try flying again. not that her stories is the cause of it than it being his decision entirely.

i just think eueugehfh lumine would tell him about the stars and constellation he never sees, right? then she would enlighten him with cultures and technology. id like to think maybe at one point she comes back from a quick jump out of teyvat for Stuff, she brings along souvenirs. and she invites her friends to try em, and for xiao its probably best if theyre alone so he doesnt need to feel more embarrassed than he is (extra bit i thought abt her introducing him to multiplr gadgets from a futuristic world she and aether visited, she gave him some fancy tech skates, and boy to see him fumble so much is just so funny and cute i hdkwjthshbfwjfh and of all gadgets he actually liked the skates). so like yeahgdjahd!! explodes i will sleep now gnite muah i hope u have a good evening 2day aly!!

Omg I've just read bridges and storms last night and i was too sleepy to get to tell you how much i freaking LOVED it but I'm glad I'm here now.

I'm a fucking sucker for established relationship trope and them being newly married couple on their honeymoon was so sweet,like from the get go the set up was just perfect , and then the idea of fears and distraction was just so well done like it was emotional and real and raw, especially that I'm sooo terrified of heights like when i saw him i felt like me too babe me too, it's like the most terrifying thing on earth, but the distraction concepts was just so cute like it was just perfect.

I loved their dynamic with my whole heart, i loved the way they both were willing to put each other's wants first , i loved how they communicated everything, i loved the display of the mc worries and how he comforted her , like every line that man said made me fall in love with him.

It's not a joke anymore this couple thousands of words is having the world's strongest choke hold on me ,I'm gonna need some healing so i could move on.

Just in general i think i read all your works there, and i think you're one of the most unique writers i ever read to , like it's not easy to make a mix of genre and trops and ideas in really really limited space of words and still manage to make them this perfect.

I personally think that what makes a story good and impactful for me is that it can makes me feel something, like if i got engaged with the story and felt like the characters are real people with real concerns and struggles and mindset,if i would understand them even if i don't relate to them , if just i felt something reading it then it's more than good enough for me,and the better it is when it comes to those aspects the more i know it's gonna resonate with me for longer.

That was such a long paragraph to tell you i love your writing but it is what it is.

DILUC stifles a smile, but lets you continue. he might even bend a bit for you to pat his head again XD honestly, he might even be a bit grumpy when you do it, so make sure to find the time when he's in a good mood! diluc does love headpats... but he has to be in the right mood for it. otherwise he might actually gently swat you away. get the puppy dog look just right and he would move back for you.

XIAO shies away from headpats. he's not the biggest fan of them, but will let you do it simply because he loves watching the smile on your face. you make him happy! seeing you happy makes him happy. he might even blush while you pat his head, honestly. it's really quite cute. very big into the "mortal trivialities do not concern me so" but you know he likes it.

KAEYA bends down for more. he's fairly physically affectionate in your relationship! he loves it when the two of you get to hug/cuddle or anything. personally i think he's a bit tall, but he's definitely willing to adjust his position just so that he can get headpats. it's definitely very cute, 100% recommend. kaeya loves every bit of it. instructions clear, please give him the attention and affection he demands <3

THOMA loves it! headpats happen very often, as a sign of affection from you to him. its quicker than a cuddling session, thats for sure. so be sure to give him lots of headpats when he's working! thoma genuinely does love the way you give him physical affection – it makes him happy seeing the grin on your face. very cute, 100% recommended!

SCARAMOUCHE. he, again, probably doesn't take to it well at first. it doesn't help that he's also shorter – probably shorter than you as well – so it allows you quick access to his uh. head. you probably have to get past his hat, though. XD but honestly, once you're close to him, he's not that repulsed by it! he might even curl up the slightest into you, despite his protests.

CHILDE loves it! not in front of his colleagues, though. la signora and scaramouche would never let him hear the end of it. at home, childe is a SUCKER for headpats. what's not to love? he receives: headpats, you receive: a happy smile on his face. i think that's a win-win situation, not gonna lie. it's pretty cute as well. just.. not in front of the fatui recruits. he has a reputation to uphold, after all.

ZHONGLI doesn't mind it, but he wouldn't go out of his way to actively seek it out, either. such mortal things are not of his concern – he's more worried over his taxes or the mora in his pocket. however, i think zhongli can be pretty affectionate; but only if he's in the mood for it, though. otherwise, you wouldn't be able to get much of a reaction out of him.

ITTO definitely loves each of them! he's very physically affectionate around you, honestly. he shows his affection loud and proud, except for when he's around kujou sara! otherwise... yeah, he has a reputation to uphold, you know? but trust me, he does love your headpats. and only yours! he would swat away anyone else who dare touch it. also consider: stroking his horns makes him sleepy. XD.
