#he looks so happy to be tormenting chuuya
Note
How do you think Atshi and Dazai's relationship compare to their relationship in beast, i feel like its a topic thats been left behind when talking abt beast
Ooo this is an interesting one.
The relationship between Dazai and Atsushi in BEAST is really interesting already, I love how Asagiri didn't just make it a carbon copy of Dazai and Akutagawa in the main timeline, instead its completely unique but equally fucked up. But comparing it to the main timeline I think it is the best example of just how far BEAST Dazai is willing to go in order to ensure Oda's happiness in that universe, even at the cost of tormenting someone main Dazai really cares about.
First lets look at Dazai and Atsushi's relationship in the main series.
Atsushi has absolute loyalty, love and respect for Dazai in the main series, Dazai was the first person who ever affirmed Atsushi's right to live and might be the first person to ever offer him kindness. Dazai also works as Atsushi's motivation to save Kyouka, he thinks of how Dazai chose to save him even though he would be a massive burden to the ADA, and this gives him the conviction to save Kyouka despite her past.
Tumblr media
Dazai is the person who Atsushi always thinks of when he's in a terrible situation, he's who Atsushi wants to run too when he thinks he can't win a fight, in other words he makes Atsushi feel safe something he probably almost never felt in the orphanage where he was abused for anything he did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(from 55 mintues)
These two pages capture this perfectly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And eventually Atsushi is able to replace visions of the orphanage director (who appeared when he was at his lowest and made him feel like he had no right to live) with Dazai giving him encouragement and the focus to keep going.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Dazai's end:
I think Atsushi is probably the person who sees Dazai's true suffering better than anyone else alive in the series, even including characters like Chuuya and Ango. Atsushi (very similar to Oda) will often cut through Dazai's jokes and see through to what he is really thinking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Atsushi is also one of very few characters to openly be kind to Dazai, off the top of my head it's only him and Oda who ever really say nice things about him to his face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(notice both times Dazai is surprised by this)
Atsushi is even able to pick up a hint of Dazai's past when Dazai talks about mimic in 55 minutes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So suffice to say, in the main series Dazai and Atsushi are extremely close, both being essentail to the others growth and a person throughout the series, I could probably go on for pages about this but for now let's talk about how BEAST twists this relationship into one of the darkest in the series.
BEAST Atsushi suffers more than almost anyone else thanks to Dazai's plan. Since he can't use Fukuzawa's ability to control Atsushi's ability, he makes Atsushi wear a spiked collar that stabs him in the neck while transformed and uses the pain of that to help Atsushi remain in control of the tiger.
Tumblr media
Not to mention that BEAST Atsushi, just like regular Atsushi hates being hurt and hurting others, he is constantly terrified on every mission he is sent on and hates the pain he has to go through each time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So why is he so loyal to Dazai? Unlike Akutagawa Dazai didn't physically abuse Atsushi until he became dogmatically loyal, he didn't need too, all he had to do was twist the suffering caused by the orphanage director in Atsushi's mind and make it work in his favour.
Trigger warning: Psychological abuse!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was Dazai's method, give Atsushi an order he knew he would disobey and set things up so it would lead to Atsushi undergoing unimaginable pain and suffering beyond anything Dazai could inflict himself. Dazai twisted that pain in Atsushi's mind into
"This is what it feels like to disobey me"
And since then, Atsushi has been completely incapable of not following Dazai's orders.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another important factor is that Dazai himself is very friendly with Atsushi, letting him call him "Dazai-san" instead of boss and giving him praise for his work. This just further cements in Atsushi's mind that Dazai is the kind, generous person who tried to help him, which makes him even more loyal to Dazai.
There's a lot more I could go over, but I don't have time right now. Overall I think BEAST really shows just how far Dazai is willing to go to achieve what he wants, the way he treats BEAST Atsushi is incredibly cruel, and then leaving him alone in a world where his only purpose was fulfilling Dazai's orders is another level of cruelty.

i will forever be bitter at the fact that we did not get to see dazai laugh in the anime when chuuya did his school girl impersonation because that’s the only moment in the manga that dazai looks so genuinely happy, he even has little tears in his eyes from laughing so hard and instead of animating that, they just had him be silent and i think that’s a crime punishable by a thousand years jail time

tuna I'm about to go to bed but consider. demon au fyodor. hangs around you for no discernable reason. gives you terrible nightmares for fun (and later pleasant dreams as he starts to like you more, so he can see you smile when he watches you sleep). keeps wanting to play with your computer. ooo maybe he could possess your phone or something, so you can go out like normal but he'll Always Be There! Watching!
do u think gogol and sigma would be fellow demons or fyodor cultists
- 🩹
demon fyodor is a tech genius you heard it from us first! also also i like the idea of gogol and sigma being demons but like fyodor's little helpers mayb...ill think about it
cw: yandere character, stalking, invasion of privacy, hacking?, sleep deprivation, paranoia,
Tumblr media
unlike dazai and chuuya, who came to stay with you because they have no choice, fyodor's just there because...he wants to. he hates humans but loves tormenting them, loves watching them lose their mind from weeks of sleepless nights and constant paranoia, loves watching them stare at him when he finally comes to claim his prize (their tortured souls), and loves the many fantastic emotions they show him. he's definitely a lot more...evil as compared to the other demons you may have met.
so you start off as his latest prey. maybe he saw you strolling past, maybe he just happened to land at your doorstep, but whatever cruel twist of fate brought him there, it sealed your life forever. you're just as entertaining as he'd hoped; he watches you 'patrol' your room with your phone flashlight and a useless object in hand, delights in the way you jump and knock over your water when he blows into your ear randomly, and most of all, he adores the fearful expressions you show when he's consuming you in your nightmares (literally).
while you're suffering from a lack of sleep and spending more time outside your home, fyodor puts his knowledge to good use and looks around your devices. he's become used to how they work after studying them for so long, and is able to easily infiltrate your computer and later your phone. (it's terribly funny to see you search up all sorts of outlandish things as a way to explain the horrors happening to you)
but you're persevering, to his surprise. and perhaps, that's what ultimately saves you.
though you're thoroughly sleep-deprived and trembling, you still go on with your life. you go to work, continue with your hobbies (even if the shaking hands and jumpiness doesn't help much), and try to keep up the image of a stable life. sure, you don't talk to people much anymore, and you need to try out new things every night that promise you a well-needed rest, but for the most part, you're trying.
this would be his favorite part, usually. completely destroying whatever will was left in you, watching you become a shell of who you were, but things were different this time. he's not sure what brought upon the sudden change, but he stops interrupting your sleep for just one night; and the soft smile that stays on your face the whole time mesmerizes him.
fyodor has seen his share of beautiful sights, but you stood out amongst them all. when he saw you whistling while making breakfast, the lost sparkle in your eye returning, when you look happy to return home after a hectic day for the first time in weeks, and when you're singing while cleaning up, the radiant joy almost blinding—that's when he knows what he really wants to see from you.
and when he takes a liking to you, no matter how twisted it was, he takes it to an extreme. he wants to be the sole decider on whether you'd be having a good day or not, so eliminating any influences in your life comes first. it wouldn't be fair if all his hard work was ruined because a friend buys you a cup of coffee or you're let out early by a superior who thinks you look too tired, right?
fyodor doesn't stop his torment; not immediately. he lets you bask in the joy of going about a day unbothered and feeling free, and then immediately snaps his jaws down on you to visit you in your dreams and frighten you. he loves watching all of you; scared, happy, carefree, stressed—but now, he can't help but be curious. what face would you show when he reveals himself to you? he's hoping it would be anger; a deep, violent, rage. something he hadn't quite had the honor of seeing from you yet.
there was only one way to find out...

A Panda's Comfort

A Panda's Playtime Motivation
Tumblr media
You could tell Chuuya had a long day by the tension in his shoulders. When he saw your furry panda form peeking around the door, a faint smile broke through at last.
"There's my little troublemaker. Come here, I could use some cheering up" As promised, gently scratching your tummy soon had you shifting back with happy chirps.
Curling into Chuuya's lap, you looked up at him with concern. He sighed, the stress melting away under your earnest gaze. "It's been a lot, but seeing you makes it all better. You always know how to brighten my day."
His hands moved to one of your little paws in light, teasing strokes. Squeaks burst forth, bringing a proper laugh from Chuuya too at your antics. The gloomy clouds had lifted—your playfulness was just the medicine he needed.
Safe in each other's embrace, the trials of the day no longer seemed so heavy. Your bond gave comfort through any storm, finding joy in life's simpler pleasures together. And for Chuuya, your cute panda self would always be his favorite reprieve.
But that was last week when you weren't lazingly sleeping on a couch snuggling with a pillow instead of working.
Chuuya found you curled up napping as a panda at the Port Mafia headquarters once more. "Come on, you've lazed around enough. Time to shift back and help out~"
You just yawned, settling deeper into fluff. Chuuya sighed. "Fine, I tried being nice..." A devious glint entered his eyes.
Before you knew what hit you, nimble fingers were scritching and scratching all over your fluffy ticklish spots. Panda squeals instantly rang out, flailing paws unable to escape Chuuya's talented torment.
"Last chance - shift back or else!" Chuuya smirked, giving one paw an especially devilish tweak. With a pop and a cloud of smoke, you reappeared in human form, still madly giggling.
"Okay okay, you win! I'll get to work, just please stop!" Once his hands withdrew, they leaned on each other breathless but smiling. In their dynamic, a little playful motivation kept things fun.

Delightfully Indulgent
Hi hi! This is a fic I made for Chuuya’s birthday! It’s a lee!Chuuya, Ler!Kouyou ticklefic, so if it isn’t your forte, no need to read!
Happy Birthday Chuuya XD !!!
Summary: Kouyou’s girls are sadistic menaces when it comes to Chuuya. She might have an idea of where that came from...
Kouyou knows her girls have taken a liking to Chuuya.
It's not everyday you see such a beautiful young boy in the making, a little rough around the edges but certainly one to swoon over. Anyone would take well to a boy like Chuuya.
Perhaps she should have accounted for how well they'd get along with him.
You see, it was just another day where she left Chuuya to hang out with the girls whilst Kouyou herself attended to business elsewhere, and nothing had seemed out of the ordinary. They got along just fine, and the last she saw was of them all laughing together and her lovely girls sharing the latest gossip, much to Chuuya’s intrigue.
Nothing had seemed out of the ordinary.
Until she started her return.
At first, Kouyou had thought she was just hearing things, muffled noises she couldn’t really identify. However, as she grew closer to the lounging area, it wasn’t hard to notice that those noises were indeed real.
And that it was screaming.
Screaming laughter, actually?
“NOOHOHO!!! STAHAP, PLEEHEHEASE!!” She raises an eyebrow, a small smile of amusement crosses her face as she can only guess what must be going down on the other side of the door.
She grows closer and the screamed laughter only gets louder and even more incomprehensible. Along with that laughter came an abundance of happy giggling and chatter as she reached the door. Placing her umbrella in the hold right beside the wall, Kouyou quietly turned the doorknob, and stepped inside.
To say it was chaos was a sort of understatement.
Because there was Chuuya, pinned to the couch and screaming his head off with laughter, ten wiggling fingers from five different girls descending on every part of him they could reach. His sides, waist, hips, underarms, they were all giggling and chattering with sadistic glee in their eyes.
“He’s absolutely precious!” She heard one of them say as Chuuya let out a sudden snort, shaking his head desperately as tears streamed down his cheeks. “What a beautiful little boy! Anyone would fall in love with a laugh like yours, sugar!”
Kouyou placed a sleeve over her lips to conceal her own laughter of amusement as Chuuya flailed like mad. She couldn’t tell if he was trying to indulge in the touches or squirm away from them.
But of course, she knows very well just how sadistic her girls could be, the fact that Chuuya was so red in the face, with more than obvious tear tracks down his cheeks as the tears just wouldn’t stop, she could tell that they had been at this torment at least a little while since she left.
She’d been gone for two hours.
Oh dear.
“Now what do we have here, girls?” Her lovely subordinates’ attention redirected to her quickly, Chuuya curling up as tightly as he could to finally catch his breath from the torment. “I hope you haven’t been torturing my boy too much, hm?”
“Lady Ozaki!” One of them cheered with an innocent clap of her hands. She really would have been convinced of their innocence if their victim wasn’t right there in plain sight.
“Oh don’t worry about him, we gave him at least a little break!” Another of them spoke. Kouyou simply raised an eyebrow at them as she approached Chuuya, who absolutely did not look like he had even the smallest break in the past two hours she’d been gone. He looked completely out of it, sniffling and giggling uncontrollably to himself as he struggled to catch air.
“Now, should I really believe you on that?” She lightly teased, crouching down to eye level with the teen.
It took him a second to actually notice her, but once he did she could practically see the relief in his eyes, reaching a hand out pathetically to her.
“Ahaha…ane-sahan…” The breathy little giggles melted her heart and her eyes softened indescribably. Ignoring the coos from her girls, she gently scooped the small boy up in her arms who–unlike how he’d usually be protesting to be picked up or carried in any way possible–attempted to cling to her like a koala with jelly limbs.
“I’ll be taking him away from your sadistic tactics now, ladies.” The girls giggled and laughed, completely unapologetic to their devious ways as she left them to their own devices, instead opting to take Chuuya to her office instead. She had water in there to give him, thankfully.
Once she had arrived at her office with Chuuya in her arms, she set him down gently on the couch there, quickly retrieving a cup and filling it with fresh water to lend him. He seemed at least a little bit more coherent now, enough to drink the water on his own, thankfully.
“I apologize for my girls’ behavior then, lad. They tend to be quite mischievous like that.” Chuuya didn’t say anything, but the blush that tinted his cheeks and ears spoke more to his embarrassment than words could.
She couldn’t help but chuckle at that.
Chuuya scrunched in on himself with a half-hearted glare that she knew he couldn’t dare direct to her, but she understood the sentiment. Being tickled to pieces like that, and being saved by his superior as well? Quite the opposite of an ego boost, if you asked her.
But…she can’t help being a little…curious.
Chuuya set the glass of water down, his breath finally evening out.
Kouyou poked his side.
His reaction was a lot more than she expected.
Chuuya yelped, practically convulsing for a split second as he tipped over onto his side, closing his arms over his eyes with a smile just barely holding on.
Wow. her girls must have really done a number on him.
“My, my. They really weren’t lying when they said you were…–” another poke, another yelp and giggle, “–sensitive.”
“Nonononohohohoho…” Chuuya giggled under his breath, even going as far as to kick his feet, wriggling away from her touch. How precious of him, truly. She really did have the most adorable mentee.
“Come now, lad, it can’t possibly be that bad.” She couldn’t help the light teasing, dragging her finger lightly against his side, gaining a shiver and even more giggles.
“Plehehehease, nohoho..! Anehehe-sahahan!” Chuuya practically pleaded, trying with all his might not to curse out his ticklish feelings in front of his own superior. But she couldn’t help it, he was just far too adorable to resist a little tickle of her own.
“What? What’s wrong, my boy?” She asked, a little smile gracing her face as Chuuya finally pressed one arm into his side, effectively blocking her from any more attempts.
“Youhuhur….your nahahails!” She blinked, glancing down at her fingers, nails specifically. It is true, Kouyou’s nails were rather long, as she had just gotten them done up yesterday to relieve some of her own stress. However, she hadn’t realized until now just how much they would affect Chuuya.
She smiled.
Then quickly skittered them along his back.
Chuuya let out a squeal, far too quick to rotate his body to protect his back, which only led to half his upper body hanging off the couch as a result.
She took that chance to attack his stomach, and the sweet, high pitched and even a little cackly laughter that left him could pierce even the coldest heart.
“AhahaHAhanehEH-sahAhan!! DOhohohOhooHon’t!” His voice cracked as he trembled and jolted under her skillful nails, red in the face as his laugh pitched unevenly. “Hmm, it’s always ‘no’ this, and ‘don’t’ that, lad.” Kouyou smiled. “Are you sure you want me to stop? Or are you lying to me?”
Chuuya only responded with laughter, his body practically relaxing when she lightened her touch even more. So he didn’t mind this? How cute.
She cooed gently. “Just look at you, lad. You’re just so happy, aren’t you?” He babbled nonsense she couldn’t decipher, but the very delayed, yet very frantic nod tugged on her heart strings, and she could hardly stand just how precious her little boy was.
She gently scratched around his waist, and his leg gave an aborted jerk along with a snort. His hair was a mess as he shook his head rapidly, the grin on his face so wide it met his eyes, and his arms tucked tight around his torso, yet not enough to actually stop her.
This was just far too cute, even for her.
Kouyou’s heart might actually not be able to take it.
She slowed down her scratching to slowly and softly rubbing his tummy with her palm, and he melted impossibly more as he caught his breath for the second time today.
It really was a delight to see how genuinely content and happy he seemed. That smile looked so unabashedly joyful, and he was simply far too tired to cover up his embarrassed blushy face like before.
“My goodness, lad.” Kouyou hummed. “You might actually steal some hearts with a charming smile like that. I guarantee.” Chuuya groaned, clearly both amused and unamused by the comment.
She gently cradled his head, lifting the half of his body that leaned over the edge right back onto the couch, even placing one of the small pillows under his head for a bit more comfort. The blood most definitely should’ve run to his head by then.
And just as she predicted, his blush faded a bit as he let out a small sigh of relief, pressing his cheek further into the pillow. Kouyou smiled for what must have felt like the millionth time today as she softly stroked ginger locks, threading them through her fingers.
“You must be exhausted now, Chuuya-kun.” She hummed, letting out a small hummed giggle as Chuuya’s eyes drooped just as she suspected. “Rest for now. You don’t have anything important to tend to anyways.”
Chuuya mumbled unintelligibly, but let his eyes slip closed anyways, absolutely drained from today's activities.
He was out like a light within minutes.
Kouyou noted to get her nails done more often after that.

Today I'm offering you soukoku angst (cw: major character death)
Dazai lays on the ground, blood spilling out from the wound on his chest but he couldn't care less. Well, he hates the pain caused by the wound but at the same time he doesn't feel anything at all.
Perhaps there's one thing he feels: regret for getting the agency involved into his last suicide attempt. He knew from the very first moment that they couldn't have won that war, so why did they try?
Dazai doesn't know what happened to the agency members.
All he does now is just staring at his enemy above him with a relaxed smile on his face, his head on Chuuya's lap.
"Oi Dazai... remember that shitty song you used to sing to me years ago?" Chuuya asks looking at him. His usual loud and cocky voice is now raspy; the tiredness is palpable.
As soon as he saw the brunet collapsing on the ground Chuuya ran towards him kneeling by his side, conscious that it was a fatal injury.
"Oh gods no, not that song again..." Dazai's tired too but still manages to chuckle a bit, memories flowing into his mind.
Back in the Port Mafia Dazai loved to torment Chuuya by singing him "You are my sunshine" on the way for the ninth mission. From the start he enjoyed annoying Chuuya with such disgusting and playful love declarations which, as the time passed, were rooted till something more deeper blossomed, something that went beyond mere jokes. They didn't know exactly when those words turned out to be more truer than they could've imagined.
"Thank you, Chuuya." Dazai mutters feeling his eyelids getting heavier and his entire body number as the time goes by. That's so good Dazai thinks but there's still a part of him that aches knowing what he's leaving behind. Who is leaving behind, again.
"Don't say that. There's nothing to thank me for," there's a sad smile on the redhead's face hidden from Dazai's visual. "I killed you, afterall."
An heavy silence falls on them again, they seem not paying any mind to the war that surrounds them. They seem to not hearing the screams coming from the dying soldiers, the sound of shots and the despair that fills the air. Everything in that place is drenched with blood and death.
"Wasn't that our goal?"
Chuuya stays silent. It wasn't he would say but knows too well that if he says so, all Dazai's beliefs would crumble. How could he force someone who's already slipped away from his hands to live? Dazai always trusted Chuuya enough to put his own life into Chuuya's hands without any hesitation. It was obvious that Dazai would've asked Chuuya to end his sorrow. It would've been Chuuya the one to take Dazai's life away. It's an agreement they made way before their feelings surfaced. It's an agreement made with their first fight ever.
"Can you sing for me, chibi?" Dazai doesn't need to say what song he wants to hear. It's not the first time that Chuuya sings for Dazai but of course this one has to be special. Tragically special. When Chuuya starts singing, Dazai almost regrets not asking him to sing more when he had the chance. Almost because what they had has been enough to quiet his tormented heart down.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray"
For a brief moment Chuuya's lips quiver, his shaky voice shows what he's desperately trying to hide from his dying partner. It doesn't help Dazai who joins him and they sing along until Dazai is too tired to keep going. The bandaged detective can feel Chuuya's hands tremble but it doesn't stop him from stroking Dazai's hair.
"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away."
That last sentence is barely a whisper and Chuuya doesn't dare to look down at Dazai. He closes his eyes and even though the battle rages on, the executive doesn't care anymore.
The song ends and Dazai is already gone. Chuuya places a soft kiss on his lover's forehead, careless of the tears streaming down his pale face.
"Don't expect to hear those words from me now that you're gone, Osamu. You know that I do."

The "King of the Sheep" theory.
Notes: I took the organization of children in quotation marks (I hope I did not miss it anywhere in the translation), and I mentioned animals without quotation marks. Frames in Russian, so I did not find it in the original or in English, but the essence of the text should be clear. My theory and it cannot be considered from a global and correct point of view. In any case, I will be happy to listen to your suggestions and discuss.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I contemplate the organization's name “Sheep“ and compare a group of children, among whom fifteen-year-old Nakahara Chuuya is the commander-in-chief, to bleating herbivores.
Tumblr media
I was tormented by the question: “Why did such a strong group of underage teenagers call their union so ironically?”
The whole truth was revealed to me in the analysis of the animals themselves, after which I made an analytical connection and found this very “response” in “Sheep”.
So, let's take a look at the fluffy and wonderful creatures that we stereotypically considered (now no longer) stupid and defenseless, but in reality everything is different.
Sheep are naturally very intelligent, at least in terms of their predisposition to memorization (i.e., good memory) and the manifestation of cognitive abilities (receptivity and processing of information). But I want to focus, first of all, on loyalty and protection of the weak. Despite the fact that we have “Sheep”, and not rams, the moment of defense comes to a standstill, since the whole group does not have “horns”. And despite the exposure to danger and the high risk of being left without life, teenagers find their protection in their “king”, in which a special force acts as “pole shoots” - gravity.
Tumblr media
As we can see, Chuuya begins to go against himself, saying clearly and clearly: “I'm not a king!“ — possibly meaning that he is the same “defenseless lamb”, simply different from the rest with his predominant “trump card in the sleeve”, which, as a specific privilege, crushes. He, of course, “is responsible for this very power“, but first of all - he is responsible for those who are weaker, who are simply with weapons without any abilities. The whole group can safely be considered by me as “youngsters”, whose “horns” were beaten off in the process of life, thereby taking away the hope for the safety of their lives. “Sheep“ pay tribute to their “leader“, relying on his mind and prudence, and entrusting their lives to the “hooves of justice“. They will boldly follow on the heels of the “leader”, but not because he is ahead of the “herd”, but because Chuuya certainly proved with his organization and responsibility that he can be trusted, and this trusting relationship is built thanks to strong friendship that binds their strong thread and unites only stronger.
Tumblr media
Mentioning a little higher about the "hooves of justice", I wanted to make a reference to a small but very interesting disclosure of the activities dictated by the union of teenagers.
We are told that the organization “came into being to oppose looting and human trafficking.“ And then I remember one very interesting fact, which again is directly related to sheep. These innocent creatures are very emotional and sensitive, to some extent even empathic and compassionate. And here it is? Will explain. When the curly-haired brethren are allowed into the slaughterhouse, the sheep empathize and cry, literally. That is, if you think like this, you can connect “trafficking in people“ with “putting to slaughter.“ We do not forget the fact that the priority of sheep is the ability to stand up for other people's lives, so we conclude that a group of children is doing everything possible, sacrificing themselves and trying to trample and “confuse“ enemies to death in order to save other human lives and complete justice over looting.
Summing up, I want to draw a conclusion about the connecting details between artiodactyl animals and the “Sheep“ organization, as well as “shatter” the ironic myth about sheep as stupid animals. Their proud title is carried by a group of children, albeit underage, but such brave and brave children that they are ready to stand up for each other, and this connection is amazing, and the leader himself, Chuuya Nakahara, deserves special respect in this “cooperative system of justice.“

Paul Verlaine random headcanons (because not many write about him)💛
• Long multiple volumed novels bore him, so he reads short stories and novels.
• Doesn't like movies because he knows all too well most emotional situations are a lie.
• Chuuya brings him wine and they can talk for hours.
• Don't let his appearance decieve you. Play some good rock 'n roll and he'll dance better than Michael Jackson ever could.
• He might listen to Indila once in a while.
• He never learnt to cook because he always imagined the vegetables as his enemies to be killed.
• He HATES going to the doctor when he gets sick.
• When ever his pupils fail, he complains harshly  in French to calm down but advices them gently after.
• Still doesn't mean he'll go easy on them. He is a very strict teacher.
• He once allowed Gin and Kyouka to brush and braid his hair.
• He doesn't like it when anyone except Chuuya comes to see him unannounced.
• He never said to any of his pupils about his past, afraid they'll see him the same way some comrades of his during the war did.
• During the war hardly anyone called him by his name because he wasn't a real human.
• He takes cold showers almost daily, to clear his head.
• Rimbaud set him on a blind date once. It went smoothly... sort of.
• Paul may look and seem tough but all you need is to tell him he is handsome and he blushes.
• "Not something I hear everyday..." or "I... I didn't... thank you."
• He is mostly polite unlike Chuuya who curses all the time.
• During the fog (Dead Apple), he kept walking around in the shelter nervously. He was worried for Chuuya.
• Will he be fine? Is he safe?
• When he decided to grow his hair long, Rimbaud complained, "It'll be easy to grab."
• But Paul was too stubborn.
• Which made Arthur grow his hair that long too.
• Paul practiced different styles of braids on Arthur's hair before doing it on his.
• Whenever Arthur shivered from being too cold, he'd drape anything that'll warm him on his shoulders. (In his first few days of freedom, he once ripped the curtains.)
• There are times when he stares in the mirror, places a hand over his heart and smile.
• "Thank you for the second chance... I'm only sorry that you are not here."
• He hopes he can find a reason someday to step outside, and so does Chuuya.
• Chuuya loves to see how Paul will feel if he saw how strong he is now.
• Spoiler: Paul feels happy for him.
• He likes sweet deserts with tea.
• Some nights he has messed up nightmares of Guivre, Arthur's death and Faunus tormenting him.
• When he wakes up he can't sleep again, afraid to see those nightmares again.
• Cat or dog person? He likes both!
• There are times when he speaks French with Mori and the boss begs him to speak Japanese.
• Elise likes him a lot but Paul feels awekward around her. He has no idea how to treat a child properly.
Might make a part two... if I recieve an as ask for it!

Another fic I don’t have time to write, yeay
Prompt for a fanfic I would have written if I didn't already have two works ongoing and not a minute to spare:
Chuuya fights an ability user and gets sent to an alternate universe. He ends up in the Gakuen AU while his counterpart gets thrown into the main universe in his place.
In both worlds Dazai immediately realizes that’s not his Chuuya but in the GA he’s not familiar with abilities so he thinks it’s just a prank. Meanwhile in the main universe he thinks he can fix it with just a touch but this Chuuya is not created by an ability, just transported there by it, so they need to find the one who did it to put the two where they belong.
In the GA!universe Dazai and Chuuya are classmates and sort of frenemies who always compete with each other. Main!Chuuya gets to witness Dazai being all happy and easy-going even though he catches glimpses of the darkness he knows so well behind his eyes. He witnesses him having a somewhat normal friendship with Oda and Ango while still tormenting everyone and mourns for the life they both missed out. He watches him genuinely care for others while still struggling with loneliness despite the large group of friends he has. He begins to wish he could help him in both universes. GA!Dazai for his part misses his less hardened version of Chuuya.
In the main universe Dazai and GA!Chuuya go look for the responsible, at first Chuuya doesn’t fully trust Dazai but follows him because he seems to know what’s going on. This Chuuya is happier, he’s had a better life but is easily excited and even though he doesn’t have his ability he still knows how to put up a fight, soon though he begins to get scared and homesick but tries not to let it show. He sees in this Dazai something he had suspected about the one he knew, a darkness that was always there despite the different upbringing. He wants to pull him away from that path at least in his universe. Dazai’s admiration for him grows because he is a normal kid and isn’t ready for that life, he’s especially not ready to kill but he never backs down, he’s almost impossible to break, he’s also more openly kind and it affects Dazai, so he wants his Chuuya back both because he starts to miss him and because it’s easier to deny having any feelings around him.
It's not completely fleshed out but I have many little details to make this work and even two possible endings. I need a holiday to work on this.

Bnha and/or bsd? For the ask game
aaand time for bsd! i am both ecstatic and mortified to talk aloud about these characters lmao 🙈 i'm putting this under a read more
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
okay let's just get this over with--it's akutagawa. he is also the answer to the rest of the following questions too okay post over /gen lmao
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
ah. err. uh. hm... well, besides my obvious answer, i guess almost everyone in the show has at least a Little bit of "baby" energy lol... can i say kyouka? i mean this in the Not-weirdest way Possible. she's just rlly fucking adorable. also, alternative answer is karl the raccoon :>
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
hm well i'm not too acquainted w/ the bsd fandom like even the slightest bit at all so idk exactly how (under)appreciated this character is but i kinda just have a feeling about it, but kunikida! i rlly like him and he makes me feel rlly happy in a way i don't quite understand yet... fuck man, i even kinda feel like i myself don't appreciate him enough! i need to focus on him more!
also i'm just gonna shout out odasaku here bc i Need to mention him somewhere on this post but idk where else to mention him lmao. i have a feeling he's a fandom favorite tho? ......i hope he is at least lmao. he should be a fan favorite.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
gin, altho i kinda bet she's prob a big fave for a lot of ppl too. and idk if she gets to have any more significant plot relevance post-s3 of the anime?
also my memory of the actual serious plot of the series is extremely foggy in my head so excuse me if this is a bad answer but i get rlly excited when ango shows up... altho tbh it's mostly just bc i love it when his voice actor jun fukuyama gets to voice meek-looking megane characters lmao. i know that ango does some major shit but i honestly can't remember if it was good shit or bad shit... ah well. i don't rlly think anyone in bsd is ever Only doing good shit so it's fine lmao
ALSO shout out to the minor anime-only character from s1 that kaito ishikawa got to voice for two eps before he got killed :(
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh haha i don't think i need to say anything here
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
dazai. tbh i'm not a big fan of him, but i don't necessarily hate him? it's rlly rlly difficult to hate him anyway since he's fucking hilarious and voiced by mamoru miyano so like. yeah. anyway he's always picking on EVERYONE and he's always one step ahead of Everyone and that annoys the fuck out of me so yeah man i'd mess w him if i could. he kinda rlly deserves it tbh. also it would be hilarious :)
oh and same for ranpo. he annoys me too bc he's mean but also i appreciate him Slightly more bc he's voiced by hiroshi kamiya.... i think it's p much Impossible for me to truly dislike any character that man voices lmao
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
well, ougai's a given.
there's also fitzgerald but i mostly just hate him bc he's annoying as fuck and i HATE that he didn't fucking die after sskk beat his ass and whoever tf is writing this series was like "yes, i think i will let fitzgerald live and give him more content and plot relevance :) MUCH MORE :))) hehe everybody loves this guy!" NOOO SHUT UP UGH.
also i don't remember who the fuck that one guy is with the hat (not chuuya, the other hat guy) or what the fuck he was doing (literally could not understand a Single thing about what he (or dazai) was doing in dead apple) but i don't like him. and i don't like that everyone else seems to like him? i have no idea what his deal is and i think he's annoying bye
(ask game post)
#hhhhh i have sooo many feelings about soooo many bsd characters holy fuck i didn't even get to Mention literal big faves of mine!!#LIKE ATSUSHI!!!!! or chuuya! or any of the other ada and mafia characters D:#i rlly do like pretty much all of them at least A Little bit#and like i feel like i should clarify this for this Entire post but the stuff i love and care about most w bsd is the Crack shit#i love every single thing that goes on in the wan! shenanigans#i love the absolute ABSURDITY of everyone and how silly and weird they all are#and how it's like. supposed to be a serious series but it's really just the most wildly ridiculous cartoony clown show of all time#i. love. that. SHIT. all the serious plot stuff kinda bores me so i kinda just forget about it and focus on the goofs :)#so yeah. bc of this goofy vibe of the series i try not to be Too critical of the characters and all the fucked up shit they do#cause it's all kind of a big joke in the end anyway so whatever lol#anyway yea i love bsd A LOT even tho i know very little about it or the fandom lmao#i've only watched through the show ONCE and that was in spring 2020 and i havent stopped thinking about it since#have not bothered to actually rewatch the dang thing tho or find out exactly what happens in the manga post-anime#other than extremely huge spoilers that are Completely out of context to me but i'm still very upset about#lol i'm such a dedicated fan to this series! /s#thank u sm grace for indulging me w my bsd bullshit <3#replies#ask game#bsd --

Should you fight my f/os?
Tagged by @megane-shipping @rose-wine-selfships @firebird-inkheart
I have many f/os, so this isn't all of them but I still did a fair number of 'em.
Also the rating system confused me but I did my best.
Dazai: He looks pretty scrawny, and while he is a pretty good fighter fighter through skill he isn't the physically strongest opponent, but you still wouldn't be able to beat him. He'd come up with some sort of plan where you'd probably think you'd won but then you turn around and oop no Dazai won. How does that work? Who fucking knows.
No fighting Dazai. 2/10
Erza Scarlet: She will kick your ass with the power of friendship and her eighteen thousand swords. Are you kidding me? She's queen of the fairies, no way. Beating her up only inspires her to win for the sake of her guild.
No fighting Erza. 1/10
Shinobu Kocho: She will poison you with a smile on her face. Unless your name is Douma, I would not recommend (ouch).
No fighting Shinobu. 4/10
Chuuya Nakahara: if you're looking to get crushed by a manlet in a fancy hat, then go for it. He's quite possibly one of the strongest ability users out there, but tell him Dazai called him a nerd or whatever and he'll fly into a rage that you can either use to your advantage or will result in you being crushed faster.
No fighting Chu-tan. 1/10
Yosano Akiko: Holy shit what? You're going to fight her? She will hack you to pieces, put you back together, and then repeat, repeat, repeat until she has to go and catch a sale.
No fighting Yosano. 4/10
Howard Phillips Lovecraft: You have a chance so long as he continues to give into his tiredness, he may simply lay there while you beat the shit out of him. Make sure you keep him from going all eldritch monstrocity on your ass though.
Not advised to fight Lovecraft. 3/10
Edgar Allen Poe: He's baby, why would you fight him? I know his best friend is a raccoon and he looks like he hadn't been outside since he was a baby, but what would you accomplish by fighting him?
To remain a decent person no fighting Poe. 5/10
Mark Twain: He's allergic to wearing shirts properly and thinks he's all buff and stuff, but you can punch him in the eye and knock him the fuck out. His little doll friends ain't gonna do shit. So long as you get too close for him to snipe you, you've got this.
Fight Mark. 7/10
Margaret Mitchell: I would really rather you not, she's napping. If you did, though, be ready to get caught in your own personal tornado while she rants about restoring her families honor. Unless your name is Akutagawa, be careful.
Not advised to fight Margaret. 5/10
Higuchi Ichiyo: She's certainly not the most formidable opponent, but she would gladly cut a thousand bitches for the sake of getting senpai to notice her.
You could fight Higuchi but it's not advised. 6/10
Gin Akutagawa: You wouldn't even hear her coming. The thought of fighting her would be brand new and then whoops, you've got a knife to the throat. She's not a leader of the black lizards for no reason.
Not advised to fight Gin. 4/10
Beelzebub: There is a chance that he would literally eat you, but for the most part while he is a big, beefy demon, he's also a teddy bear; he'd probably let you punch him over and over with a straight face. Stay away from his food and you should be fine.
Maybe fight Beelzebub. 6/10
Mammon: On one hand, he is the second most powerful of his brothers, he could easily destroy you. On the other hand, boy gets beat up verbally and physically by his brothers every damn day and has a mountain of insecurities, poke at those and you could probably win. Or make him even more mad. It's a gamble with the avatar of greed, my guy.
Maybe fight Mammon but not advised. 5/10
Jae-ha: He's a quick fellow, and his aim with those daggers is pretty spot on, it'd be very difficult and your best chance would be to try and ground him so he can't use his dragon leg. Although, he's a pervert and would probably like getting beat up, so you could win simply by that
Not advised to fight Jae-ha unless he's feeling especially nasty: 5/10
Chain Sumeragi: She can literally make herself completely undetectable and then stick her hand through you to play with your insides, unless you can get past that somehow, you're fucked.
No fighting Chain. 3/10
Steven Alan Starphase: He will Esmeralda Blood Freeze you before you can even blink and the shatter you into ice cubes for his drink. He ain't afraid to get his hands dirty.
No fighting Steven. 3/10
The Happy Huntresses: They're an experienced team of top of their class huntresses; four badasses trained not only to fight people but also giant evil monsters.
No fighting the happy huntresses. 4.5/10
Meis and Gueira: I mean they look decently tough with those bikes and the armor and the fire, but everytime we see them in a fight they get their asses handed to them in like two seconds. Best to be equiped with a fire extinguisher or like some ice cubes to chuck at 'em.
Maybe fight them. 6/10
Aizawa Shouta: Your best bet is to catch him in the middle of a nap, but please be so careful not to wake him up, he's most likely be so cranky that he'd forget he's a hero and snap your neck.
Not advised to fight Aizawa. 5/10
Idia Shroud: His scrawny ass barely ever leaves his room, he hasn't lifted anything heavier than his phone ever, he's a flaming stick basically.
You could fight Idia. 7/10
Sesshomaru: He has very little mercy to spare and has killed a great deal of people and demons.
No fighting Sesshomaru. 2/10
Annie January: She is capable of blinding and throwing you across the room with a beam of light from her hands and can lift like thirty two times her bodyweight. Unless you also have superpowers, would not recommend.
Not advised to fight Annie. 5/10
Byleth: She's a skilled fighter on her own, but she also has an army of feral students ready to beat the shit out of anyone who messes with their proffessor.
No fighting Byleth. 4/10
Shatina: Her greatest joy is beating people up and watching them bleed, she steps on and torments even her closest allies on a near daily basis. She would crush you and the go right back to drinking.
No fighting Shatina. 4/10
Maeve: I'm actually not sure what kind of fighting ability she has, but why would you want to hurt a goddess?
No fighting Maeve. 5/10
Ban: He's a member of one of the strongest groups of fighters in the land, and he's able to almost immediately regenerate after any and all damage. Also, he's like 10 feet tall, what are you going to do? Chew on his ankles until they snap off? They grow right back.
No fighting Ban. 4/10
Joxter: Fucking feral cat man, too lazy to fight back. Kick his ass.
Fight Joxter. 8/10
Shigure Sohma: Please fight Shigure, please. I will put my bet on you and watch.
Please fight Shigure. 9/10
Vodka: She's used to fighting giant fallen angels, she'd have no trouble kicking your ass and looking good while doing it. Also, she could simply send her hawk Andre to peck out your eyes before she even has to do any work.
Not advised to fight Vodka. 5.5/10
Jordan 'JD' Davies: They're the Jersey Devil. Literally, the Jersey Devil. They'd burn you to a crisp with their fire powers. But, your chances of victory aren't zero if you could find a way to deal with that. They're strong, but you could find a way with a fist fight. Fuck knows they deserve to be fought.
You probably shouldn't but fight JD anyways. 7/10
Zoro: You're going to fight a guy who wields three swords? One of which he sticks in his mouth? He's clearly crazy. Also I'm pretty sure he cuts a mountain in half at some point or something like that? So there's that to take into consideration. You're best bet would be to also be amazing with swords.
No fighting Zoro. 3/10
Nami: She's not the most powerful out of all of all of her crew, but if you beat her you will leave afterwards and notice that your wallet and all your valuables that you had on you are missing and she's already sailing away.
You could fight Nami but you will be poor afterwards. 7/10
Mollymauk Tealeaf: Hasn't he been through enough?
No fighting Molly please. 5/10
Zora: She will turn you into a literal baby, how do you plan on beating her up as an infant with your chubby lil baby hands?
No fighting Zora: 4/10
And I wanted to include some familial too
Yukichi Fukuzawa: Have you seen him fight with a sword? You won't even see him draw it.
No fighting Fukuzawa. 2/10
Ogai Mori: He will trick you into thinking he's merely a simple, friendly neighborhood physician, and then the moment your back is turned there will be a scalpel buried deep in it. Also, he has a demon baby at his command.
No fighting Ogai. 2/10
Kouyou Ozaki: You might think you're sneaking up on her, but her Golden Demon will cut you down without her even needing to look away from admiring the flowers and sipping her tea.
No fighting Kouyou. 2/10
Oda Sakunosuke: HASN'T HE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH.
No fighting Oda PLEASE. 4/10
Ranpo Edogawa: While he has eaten nothing but processed sugar since the day he was born, he will eviscerate you with his words and leave you too mentally beaten to lift a finger. Stuff your ears with some cotton and kick his scrawny ass. The rest of the detective agency will come after you, though.
Not advised but go ahead and fight Ranpo. 5/10
Yumeno Kyusaku: So much as look at this child wrong, much less lay a finger on them, and I will be the one fighting you.
NO FIGHTING YUMENO. 0/10
Lio Fotia: I know he looks like a dandy who was abandoned and raised by a biker gang, but he is also the strongest known burnish. The only thing saving you is his code against killing.
Not advised to fight Lio. 4/10
Laxus Dreyar: He's an asshole, and I completely understand wanting to fight him, but he is jacked as shit with the power of lightning at his finger tips.
It's not smart but I would like to watch you do it anyways. 2/10
Noctis Lucis Caelum: He'd rather fish than fight you, but he is capable of taking down giant monsters and mini armies with the ability to teleport. Tell him Hot Topic is going out of business and he'll crumble.
Not advised to fight Noctis but eh maybe you could. 4/10
Pretty sure all the people I would've tagged have already done it? So do this if you want to.

Hi :-) do you take ff requests? I can't get enough Dazai whump and I don't think there's merly enough out there! So, if you could write a scenario where Dazai is recovering after being in hospital with the agency taking care of him (he'll make it difficult, obviously) I would be super happy! Even more if he'd be wheelchair bound or smoething too ",
I’M SO SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO ANSWER THIS, BUT I FINALLY FINISHED MY EXAMS AND I WROTE THIS SO FAST I NEARLY BROKE MY KEYBOARD AHAHA-- now enough of my excuses, I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed answering~~
Sitting up on the bed, he stares at the four walls surrounding him, all devoid of colour but the ashy greys. Dull and lifeless. Despite the window by his bedside, he sees neither rolling greens nor bricks of red and walls of beige. Everything was nothing more than shades of grey dotted with specks of black and white. That’s was how life – no, society – was.
No one is completely black nor is anyone completely white, alignments skewed with wavering faiths. Picking the covers off he moves to get off, only to remember the damage done to his legs. Lacerations and bandages covers him whole, caused by glass fragments and careless misadventures. He feels the pain physically but emotionally… he wonders.
Dangling off the side of the bed, he stares at the door. Wondering, if heaven would ever lie behind it. A shining light so bright he goes blind. Then, he laughs.
Then what? He steps through and fade into nothingness? Allow death to claim him as theirs? A pathetic notion and he knows it. He is already chained, hands and feet, to the depths of hell. Every second the clock ticks yet never is it the right moment, he fades and returns.
Fades and returns.
Like a never-ending loop made to torment him endlessly. With that, he closes his eyes and allows his mind to wander aimlessly once more……
Time passes, years forcing him to grow into what he is now. Nothing really matters to him anymore, but he learnt to wear a mask, the only embers that sparks his interest are those of winning, of a chess game weaved within the planes of existence, every move, every plan hinging on gambles and bets. He wins some, he loses some, but what does he have left to lose?
Once again he sits upon a bed in a hospital, this time lit by white lights and the walls no longer grey but it’s still the same. His little gamble cost him his legs, albeit temporarily but as long as he wins – even by the smallest of margins – it is worth it. Silently, he stares out the window, watching as people hurry down streets and alleys, crossing the roads in numbers, all rushing to get where they need to be.
Where they want to be.
He frowns, forcing himself to look away from the window. Forcing himself to think, of new plans, of new moves to take. Anything to take his mind away from the physical world, from reality.
“Dazai-san?”
He glances at the half ajar door, at the boy peeking in with concern. He notices something in his hands, a basket of sorts. He couldn’t help but smile at the sentiments, waving the boy over with a smile.
“Atsushi-kun, what brings you round –”
He trails off, noticing the person who enters behind Atsushi, colours of black and red catching his attention thoroughly. Chuuya.
“Ara? You brought me a hatrack? But Atsushi-kun, I don’t wear hats –”
“Shut up, would you?” the redhead cuts him off, sending a sharp glance his way as he places a bottle of Chardonnay before him. He explains before Dazai has time to ask.
“Kyouka told me what happened and the other agency members sends their greetings because they were too busy.”
Something bubbles up inside, and he laughs. He doesn’t know the reason why. Perhaps it’s the idea that Chuuya is here bearing greetings and gifts, or perhaps the notion that people care enough for him. It tickles him, making him laugh harder than he ever had in his life.
“Oi, did you hit your head or something?!”
“Dazai-san?!”
Really… what has changed? What has happened, that unconsciously he became how he is now. He wonders but he doubts he’ll ever know or understand. But for now…
He’ll live in the moment.

Thoughts on mer au Chuuya getting jealous when he sees darling with someone? Like how would he react, what would he do, etc
I feel like he’d try use his charm or beauty to make darling stick around him more or find treasures and give it to her. But whenever he sees the guy he’s seething with jealousy, clenched fists because he wants to take that man’s throat and drown him. Not even eat him because the man deserves to just wither away in the sea. And then reader might go to Chuuya asking, “hey have u seen (friend) around?? I’m really worried about him!!” Chuuya will give a frown replying “no, sorry, perhaps another siren ate him?” (On the inside he’s grinning with happiness) Darling gets a bit upset because she doesn’t wanna lose her friend and Chuuya cradle her and holds her close (because that’s what darling likes right, and Chuuya wants to touch her anyway),Chuuya thinks that she deserves someone like himself, not some pesky male human who is ugly and unworthy of her presence and beauty. ❤️
ur mer au 🤝me
lolol i'm so glad ure enjoying this as much as i am BD
cw: yandere character, obsessive behavior. possessive behavior, jealousy, murder, implied torture, manipulation
if this is the same setting as darling who is unaffected by chuuya's powers, chuuya would be more than upset. you didn't blink an eye at him but you were clinging onto this human loser like your life depended on it?? he found it all revolting. were all humans as stupid as you? did you really throw him aside and ignore him for this pathetic shell of a person?
every time he sees your hands locked together, fingers intertwined and a permanent smile on your face, chuuya wants to rip out his own eyes. it's a tormenting sight, worse yet when he thinks about how that could have been him with you. if only you weren't so stubborn.
he wants to rip your new friend away from you, destroy every memory of them so you'd only think of him. like you were always supposed to. he knows he will eventually kill the newcomer. he doesn't feel guilty, after all, he's killed more humans than he can count just for fun before, and if it's for you, he'd gladly toss aside this vermin. what would be a fitting end for a pest like this? something slow and deliberate. chuuya definitely wouldn't debase himself by eating this human, but drowning seems more likely. regardless, your friend suffers for a long time.
and you are none the wiser, coming up to the siren who murdered your friend with that adorably confused expression and the gentle request, wondering if chuuya had seen them, on a boat, maybe? your friend did like the waters. chuuya is internally proud of his own work, but on the outside feigns uncertainty. your friend, about this tall? oh, chuuya might have seen them walking with someone by the shore last night...he looks worried and wonders out loud if another siren got ot them. or maybe, they got into an accident? you look devastated at the mention of your friend with someone else, and more so when you realize chuuya is implying that your friend might have died already.
chuuya reminds you that his friendship is the only thing that saved you from a similar fate, warning you about the dangers of the sea. you only look more terrified, and he smiles to himself.
"do you think you can help me check for any...signs?" you ask him, rather foolishly. he can't blame you for not knowing, though.
he accepts the request easily and reassures you in a soft voice that he will do his best to find your friend. your face falls as your slump down beside him, devastated by the possibilities, and chuuya takes this as the perfect time to put an arm around you, holding you very close in what he hopes resembles a reassuring gesture. you don't complain, or push him away.
and when later that night, you come to your usual spot again to talk to him, he's surprised by your request. you want him to sing to you because you're too scared to sleep. he doesn't know if this will work on you, but tries anyway, never being able to refuse you when you asked so sweetly and looked so forlorn. you fall soundly asleep in his arms, to both of your surprises.
maybe, chuuya thinks, there is hope.

For the writer asks: I press F to pay respects to you. No seriously, F.
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
                                                        ~~~~~~
((For context: This dialogue exchange is from my kitsune fantasy outline, where the setting takes place in the Ozaki Manor. Chuuya has come home after a long travel and is currently walking through the guest halls to the main living quarters when he senses distress from one of the guest rooms. He can feel, spiritually, that someone is experiencing a lot of pain and anguish. So he’s running to the room and when he slides open the door, For The Tainted Sorrow outlining his body in case there’s a threat on the other side of the door, he finds Dazai alone in the room. Hunched over in a corner, clawing into his neck as if trying to rid a phantom touch he can’t seem to escape from))                                                      ~~~~~~~~~
Chuuya: (unsure of how to refer to Dazai, not wanting to call him “Itsuki” because that’s not his name, voice tentative and hushed) “Is there a name I can call you by?”
Dazai: (panting, doesn’t register Chuuya’s presence or his voice)
Chuuya: (kneels down to Dazai’s level, holds the kitsune’s wrist with a firm yet gentle grip so that Dazai could stop hurting himself) “Itsuki.” (tentative, reassured that Dazai seems to respond to that name) “Who hurt you? Is he here?”
Dazai: (hoarse, as if he had been screaming for hours) “That’s not my name.” (his claws retract as his fingers fumble against the bloody bandages around his neck)
Chuuya: (somewhat relieved, gradually reeling the kitsune back to reality) “I didn’t know what else to call you by.”
Dazai: (low, unwavering, and voice naked without its usual finesse) “Then you should ask. You’ve earned the right.”
Chuuya: “Earning isn’t the same as you giving me permission to know.”
Dazai: (finally looks at him for the first time; even after four years, he recognizes that line) “If you keep saying that every time we meet, I might actually believe you.”
Chuuya: (teases) “Now, wouldn’t that be a sight to see?” (space lingering at the end of his phrase)
Dazai: (unable to discern an ulterior motive, finally concedes) “Dazai. Just Dazai.”                                                          ~~~~~~~~~
I’ve shared this snippet with you before so you already know why I really like this exchange. But to those who don’t know, I’m really proud of this dialogue exchange for a number of reasons. The first being just how collected Chuuya is through this entire interaction. He reunites with Dazai, who he hasn’t seen in four years and bears a grudge against, but he immediately drops those ill-feelings when he realizes that Dazai’s hurt and in pain. He shifts gears. Instead of antagonizing the kitsune, he kneels down to Dazai’s level and puts himself in a vulnerable and open position so that Dazai knows that he’s not here to harm. That he’s here to help, console, and even comfort if that’s what the kitsune needs right now.
Right away, from the very first line of dialogue, Chuuya makes an effort to make sure that Dazai is comfortable. He originally met and knew Dazai when the kitsune was under a different name. He doesn’t call him “Itsuki” immediately but rather, asks if there’s another name or something that he can call Dazai by rather than a false-name. Chuuya only refers to him by that false name when Dazai doesn’t seem to register that Chuuya’s here with him. When Chuuya utters it, there’s a steadiness in his tone that Dazai can cling to, and Dazai does cling to it because it shifts his mind and attention away from this phantom pain that only he can feel and for a moment, he finds reprieve and steadies himself back to reality, rather than slipping down a thorny brush along memory lane.
Another aspect I really enjoy about this dialogue exchange is how Chuuya handles and deescalates the situation. He’s conscious and aware of the atmosphere, he’s paying attention to Dazai’s body language and responses, he presents himself in a comforting and steady manner so that Dazai can feel comfortable enough to trust and even lean on him for support right now even if he doesn’t say it verbally, Chuuya’s aware of youkai etiquette when it comes to names so he’s giving Dazai respect and letting the kitsune sort of steer the direction of the dialogue exchange while Chuuya keeps him steady.
I could go into a lot more detail on why this exchange means so much to me and why I’m proud of it, but then I’d be treading into spoiler territory so I’ll end it here. The biggest reason why I’m proud of this scene is that whatever animosity or mistrust Chuuya felt and had towards Dazai in the past, he doesn’t dangle those feelings or let them influence how he should treat Dazai when they met again like this. He doesn’t see Dazai as the kitsune was in the past. Right now, at that moment, he saw Dazai as someone that needed help and Chuuya provided that help. Out of his own free-will, he stayed and did what he could to bring Dazai back to reality when he was being tormented by a demon from his past. At any point, Chuuya could’ve walked off and allowed Dazai to deal with this on his own. But he doesn’t.
That speaks volumes about Chuuya’s character in this story, and I’m happy to have written this.
BSD Questionnaire
Rules: Complete all the questions you want, expand and explain your answers as much as you want, and have fun!
Started by: @/awkwardbsd
Tagged by: @awkwardbsd (Thank you!)
I tag: @usagiomega, @joeys-piano, @kereudio, @therock-is-my-aesthetic (only do it if you want to!)
Link to original post so you can get the questions from there
What ability would you have in the BSD universe? (What would it be called? What’s its purpose? How does it work?)
This is a hard one.
It’d be called Until Human Voices Wake Us (reference to T.S. Eliot’s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock) and I’ll be able to talk to the dead if i get them what they most desired when they were alive.
If you could claim someone’s ability in BSD, whose ability would you want?
Poe’s ability, I want to write stories with happy endings and put my friends in them. I’d also like to write angst and torture some…
What group/organization would you join? (ex. Guild, Port Mafia, Armed Detectives’ Agency, Rats, etc.)
Armed detective agency, everyone is so lively and I’d love to work with them!
Which BSD character do you identify with the most?
Chuuya, I am small and full of rage.
Who are your top five favourite BSD characters?
(You can change the number)
1.Dazai, I love my chaotic suicidal baby
Tumblr media
Look at that face, the face of calamity.
2. Yosano, she’s very admirable. I respect her strength and the way she values human life.
Tumblr media
She’s also terribly beautiful
3. Odasaku, he’s the reason behind everything if you ask me. If he hadn’t led Dazai to the good side then Atsushi wouldn’t have anywhere to go and might’ve ended up in the mafia’s hands instead of the ADA. And I just love him so bad, he’s a very complex character and I wish we could’ve seen more of him.
Tumblr media
4.Ranpo, he’s kind, funny and very relatable.
Tumblr media
bapy
5. Kouyou + Chuuya, I love my badass redheads
Tumblr media
Are there any authors that you’d want to bring into the BSD universe that hasn’t arrived yet? Or do you have OCs?
Sylvia Plath! I want her to meet Dazai.
Favourite Scene(s)?
Oda’s Death (anime)
Yosano’s backstory (manga)
Favourite Quotes from the Authors/Characters?
“I think I could stand anything, any suffering, only to be able to say and to repeat to myself every moment, ‘I exist.’ In thousands of agonies – I exist. I’m tormented on the rack – but I exist! Though I sit alone in a pillar – I exist! I see the sun, and if I don’t see the sun, I know it’s there. And there’s a whole life in that, in knowing that the sun is there.” -Fyodor Dostoevsky
  “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald
Who would you want to bring to life to be your best friend? Waifu/Husbando?
Bestfriend: Poe
Waifu: Yosano and Kouyou.
Husbando: Dazai, Odasaku
How has Bungou Stray Dogs changed you as a person? Did you learn anything from it?
People deserve a second chance, not everyone gets it though.
Home for Christmas
Kunikida isn’t going to be gone for Christmas and Chuuya isn't sure he likes that. [read it on ao3]
The smile covers his face before Chuuya can stop it. He was so excited to see the name on his caller ID, that he couldn't have even hoped to hide it. At least he's home alone so he can evade the torment and questions of his friends. He hits 'answer' without hesitation.
"Hey there, sweetie," he nearly purrs as he flops onto the couch to study his handiwork on the tree.
"Chuuya," Doppo says on the other with what sounds like a relieved sigh.
"Something wrong?" Chuuya asks, "How was your flight?"
"No--things wrong..." Doppo replies.
Chuuya's brow furrows. "That wasn't very convincing," he says flatly.
"I, um..." Doppo seems to struggle a bit before he sighs and says into the receiver quietly, "I just missed you. I wanted to hear your voice."
Chuuya's heart does an involuntary stutter and he sucks in a breath. "Oh? Was there something in specific you wanted to hear?" he covers up how flustered he was with a soft, flirtatious voice.
"Not really," Doppo was clearly hiding his own embarrassment.
"Really?" Chuuya makes his voice saccharine sweet, "You didn't want to hear something like 'I missed you so much, lovely'?"
"Oh..." Doppo says breathlessly.
"Or 'It's only been five hours, but the whole world has stopped without you'?"
Doppo clears his throat.
"'I hope your flight was delayed'? 'Why don't we look out at the same moon at the same time'? 'Send me pictures and I'll pretend I was there with you'?" Chuuya rattles off all sorts of romantic phrases that he knows will fluster his boyfriend. "'I wish you were home for Christmas...'" This phrase pulled a Chuuya's heartstrings. He hadn't meant it to--it just seemed like a logical thing to say--but now he could feel the lump in his throat, so he knew he'd wanted to say it from the start.
Chuuya wasn't a holidays person. He didn't care much for any event that required forced party attendance and certainly not gifts. Christmas had been no exception until he and Doppo had gotten together. It was Doppo's suggestion, of course. He said "why don't we spend Christmas day together?" and that decided it. The last two Christmases they had spent together, but this year...
Chuuya swallowed around the lump and opened his mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out.
"I, uh..." Doppo trailed off.
"I'm sorry, Doppo," Chuuya said, sincerely, "I didn't mean to make you feel guilty."
"Chuuya," his boyfriend said in such a sweet voice Chuuya almost melted, "It's not that. I forgot my keys."
Chuuya let out a scoff of a laugh, a little bit of relief filling his heart. "I promise I'll let you in when you get home, lovely."
Doppo was quiet for a moment before he sighed. "I'm kind of home... now."
Chuuya's phone clattered to the floor as he sprung to his feet. He got to the door in four seconds flat and swung it open. Doppo stood there, phone still to his ear and a rare, small smile on his face. Chuuya wrapped him in a hug immediately, burying his face into his boyfriend's chest. Who knew five hours could make you miss someone so much?
Doppo, predictably, stiffened a bit in Chuuya's embrace, not one for such public romantic gestures. Chuuya sure as Hell wasn't letting go. But Doppo didn't push him away, and in a moment he even returned the hug with equal affection. "I missed you, too," he said, and Chuuya believed it more than anything. A hug where others could see like this was rare.
Chuuya didn't let go for a very long moment, but neither did Doppo. It wasn't until Doppo's phone buzzed that they both separated. Doppo sighed and shook his head at whatever message. Chuuya glared at the offending phone. "Who ruined our very sweet reunion?"
Doppo turned his phone over to Chuuya.
Waste of Bandages: "Ranpos demanding every sweet in this fuckin villiage"
Me: "You're welcome."
Waste of Bandages: "I didnt say thank you"
Waste of Bandages: "You shouldnt skip out on work just to hang out with your boyfriend"
Chuuya let out a laugh. "As if he's one to talk!" he said.
Doppo shook his head and tucked his phone away. "Ranpo has a hole in his stomach, I swear. I bought him half the store before he even left."
Chuuya smiled, "I wondered how you'd convince him to switch with you."
Doppo winced, "You'll probably have one less present this year."
"Don't worry. I've got a better one," he tugged Doppo down to his height to plant a kiss on his cheek.
Doppo blushed and gently pushed him inside. He closed the door softly behind them, then looked around the room and took a deep breath, clearly happy to be home. His eyes landed on the Christmas tree and he gave Chuuya a look. "Why is only the bottom half decorated?" he asked.
Chuuya plastered on the biggest grin he could manage. "Isn't it beautiful, sweetie."
Doppo chucked, a very deep and cheerful sound. It defused Chuuya's angry, teasing mood immediately and he couldn't help but marvel for the thousandth time at how happy he was that Doppo was home. "It does," Doppo assured him, "It's fantastic, because you did it."
Chuuya looked away to hide his blush. "You're such a kiss-ass."
Doppo kissed Chuuya's cheek lightly, and he could feel Doppo's smile against his skin.
"I'm happy to be home for Christmas," Doppo said.
Chuuya went over to the tree, grabbed an ornament, and stood on his tippy toes to get it as high as he could. "You had a whole 'nother day, you know," Chuuya said, "It's only Christmas Eve. Could've gotten some work done."
Doppo came to his side and grabbed Chuuya by the waist to pull him into a sideways hug. He gingerly took the ornament from his hand and placed it on the highest branch. "I wanted to wake up next to you," Kunikida said, a little blush on his cheek.
Chuuya felt the breath woosh out of his lungs. "Oh," was all he could manage.
Kunikida bent and gave Chuuya a deep, but meaningful kiss on the lips. Chuuya felt lightheaded and speechless. "Let's get the rest of the tree decorated, shall we."
Chuuya didn't even have it in him to be mad.
