Dazai occasionally modified Chuuya's bike, so the seat was slightly higher, and the pedals were slightly lower so he couldn't quite reach them. He would then say Chuuya was shrinking and should ride a tricycle instead.

Chuuya used his ability to put Dazai's shipping container on an actual container ship (Dazai was inside at the time, he did not enjoy Australia)

Dazai replaced Chuuya's flower with plaster, Chuuya was not a fan of Dazai's "crunchy pancakes"

Whenever Dazai got captured, Chuuya would carefully follow all traffic laws and stop to help pedestrians on his way to rescue him (not his fault if Dazai got a little extra beat up)

Between Dazai calling Oda a "balm for the soul" to Mori and him giving Akutawaga a whole lecture about how he couldn't beat Oda in 100 years.

I love the mental image of Dazai just going into tangents about how great Oda is around other mafia members and them being completely baffled when they meet him, and he's like the most underwhelming person ever.

Mafioso: "Why does one of the top five executives never shut up about you?"

Oda: "I really don't know. He's been like that since I tied him to a bed and force-fed him porridge"

Mafioso: "YOU DID WHAT!?"

This is why I think Oda was able to reach Dazai's heart when no one else could, because to Dazai, someone who can read the thoughts and feelings of everyone he's met. For the first time found someone who has nothing to hide, no secret or selfish motive, who just wanted to help him because he was a child who was suffering.

The book describes how Oda sees Dazai as a lonely, scared child over and over, and how Oda truly just wants to help Dazai escape that darkness. So of course to Dazai, who has been surrounded by manipulative, selfish and cruel people, someone like Oda would be a breath of fresh air.

There is so much fuel for Fyodor theories out there, I'm working on a big analysis about him, and the biggest problem is I keep finding more stuff to talk about.

Whenever I see people talk about how Dazai can't kill now that he's on the side that saves people I can't help but just... Dazai's resolution was to join the side that helps and saves people and make the world a more beautiful place. He didn't take on Oda's philosophy of not killing. He might have learned to respect others' lives more since joining a world that frowns upon murder, but like

He joined the Armed Detective Agency. His boss was ready to have another employee of his kill Dazai if Dazai had been a threat to others. Dazai made sure the culprit behind his first case as an ADA member, Sasaki, was killed because it was the only way to prevent even more deaths. He helped Chuuya punch a hole through Lovecraft's chest because his power was scary and unknown and then helped Chuuya blow him into dust.

An alternative way of killing Fyodor

Me and some friends were talking about ways to kill Fyodor, other than Dazai doing it or it being from natural causes, another way I can think of is someone sacrificing themselves to take him out. This would be very interesting narratively, and I think there is one perfect candidate to do it.

Nikolai Gogol

Gogol has already said he was willing to die to prove his own free will, and that the only reason he didn't was that he thought killing Fyodor, the only person who ever understood him, was a better way to prove that point.

The other factor here is from a writing perspective Gogol, like Bram, is just too powerful to be left on his own. His ability is completely ridiculous, and combined with his personality, there is no way he wouldn't interfere with the story a lot if left to his own devices. But it would be hard to justify getting rid of him since there is no chance of him getting redeemed, and he's broken enough that having someone kill him is going to be hard.

This would be a good way of writing him out of the story, Asagiri does not kill good guys, that's pretty much a fact at this point, so Gogol would be a good way of having an evil character taking themselves out.

Note: I don't think this would necessarily kill Fyodor, I'm sure he would have some super secret way of escaping whatever situation ends up happening, but I think it would be a very interesting way to cap off Gogols character.

(also at this point i've completely given up trying to predict bsd, asagiri always throws any theories I have out of the window, so this is mostly just a fun speculation)

Finally, after being betrayed one last time, he is shown kindness for the first time in his life by the very people who he helped turn the whole world against.

And even after accepting his death he is dragged back into the chaos so he can be used by Gogol.
