that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.

A headcanon of Percy Jackson x reader daughter of Zeus, where he has been in love since the first day he saw her, and he had also recently arrived at the camp, please
˒ ⌕ SHE IS LIKE THUNDER
parings: percy jackson x zeus!reader
an:I know I disappeared, forgive me 🤧, but picture me writing this at 3 AM, dying of sleepiness after watching the last episode of PJO, AND ANNIE USED THE NICKNAME 😭 THIS EPISODE IS STILL TOO MUCH FOR ME TO PROCESS!!!!
summary: the one where you're a daughter of zeus, exploring your relationship with percy.
( my last work || my last work for riodanverse || go to main masterlist )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Percy crossed paths during one of your training sessions. Luke was giving Percy a tour of the camp, and when Percy laid eyes on you, he halted abruptly, as if struck by lightning. For some inexplicable reason, he felt an urgent need to know who you were, as if the gods themselves demanded it.
Percy's eyes widened as he observed you from across the training grounds. "Who's that?" he asked, pointing a finger in your direction. Luke suppressed a chuckle, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Her? Oh, that's Y/N, daughter of Zeus." Percy squinted, trying to decipher your actions, as you accidentally summoned a small lightning bolt that fizzled out near your feet. His eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Does that happen often?" Luke grinned. "Only when she's particularly excited, which, by the way, is most of the time. You should see her during thunderstorms!" Percy blinked, watching as you waved sheepishly, causing another faint spark to crackle in the air.
You and Percy found common ground in venting about the gods upon his arrival.
"Hey, little thunder, how's it going?" Percy grinned. "Don't call me that," you replied, trying to keep a straight face. "I'm good too, thanks for asking, Lightning Rod," Percy joked, emphasizing his newfound nickname for you.
Attempts at using your powers together proved futile, as water and electricity didn't exactly make for a harmonious combination.
According to Percy, Cabin 3 was way too big for just him, and assuming you felt the same way about Cabin 1, he started a tradition. At 12:00, he'd show up at your cabin, asking to share it, turning into a routine of hosting pajama parties in each other's cabins.
After you discovered that your half-sister, Thalia, had been turned into a pine tree to save her, Percy couldn't resist teasing you about it.
"Do you think your dad would turn you into, what, a fountain? Or maybe a cherry blossom tree would suit you?" Percy grinned, enjoying the opportunity to rib you. "Jackson, shut up," you retorted, rolling your eyes at his antics. Later, when Grover and Annabeth intervened, trying to keep you two from frying each other, Percy couldn't resist a parting shot. He had soaked you with water from a nearby forest stream during the mission, leaving you drenched and fueling your desire to electrocute him. "Next time you want to electrocute Percy, make sure I'm not around," Annabeth teased as they separated you, noticing your soaked state. Grover, being the peacekeeper, started singing the song of friendship, encouraging both of you to hug it out and apologize. Percy, however, observed that you were shivering from the cold as you walked. Realizing this, he handed you his jacket, concerned. "You'll catch a cold if you stay wet like this," he said, offering you warmth amidst the chilly aftermath of your water-based altercation.
Since neither you nor Percy admit to having feelings for each other, you find yourselves in constant teasing and banter.
During a mission, you two start a squabble because you want to lead everything, and he just wants to do his thing or isn't paying attention to what you're saying. Grover and Annabeth exchange glances, seeking a way to mediate.
It takes a long time before you muster the courage to admit you have feelings for the son of Poseidon. You decide to confess first because, knowing Percy, it would take ages if you waited for him.
"Percy, I need to talk in case we don't get out of here." "Spark Plug, we're getting out of here; trust me." "I like you, Seaweed Brain." He stands there in shock, mouth hanging open, unable to believe that you like him back.
After Percy managed to confess that he also liked you, you enjoyed teasing him about his stunned reaction. But deep down, you were terrified that he might have said he didn't like you back.
Percy becomes incredibly protective of you.
"Touch her, and you'll be dead."
You love stormy days and spend hours on the beach with Percy because he can control the water, ensuring you both stay dry.
"Isn't it beautiful?" "What, little storm?" You pause, gazing out at the tumultuous sea, the waves crashing against the shore. "It's like the ocean is in harmony with this storm. It's as if they understand each other, finding peace in the chaos." "Maybe," Percy finally responds, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Maybe storms and the sea have a way of finding peace in chaos because they understand that even in the wildest moments, there's a certain kind of order."
You appreciate the profound simplicity of his words, and in that moment, he wraps his arms around you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder. For the first time in a long while, you feel at home

Dark! Percy Jackson Reverse Harem x Reader|| Chapter Four
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
<<< Chapter Three
You tried to fight them with your hardest, but you barely land hits on any of them.
But the sword is hard for you to handle and your hits are sloppy.
In the end, you got injured.
No, Ares's children didn't harm you, you cut yourself up with the sword by accident.
However, Percy fought them all off and your team won capture the flag.
Annabeth shoved Percy in the water where your doubts were confirmed as Poseidon claimed him as his son.
After the game, Chiron called you over to give you a letter from your mother.
For some reason you were so scared to open it, feeling like your mother was declaring in the letter that she disowns you and doesn't want to see you ever again.
But, it is the opposite of that.
My Sweet Angel,
I apologize for appearing like a coward, but I needed to get you to the camp.
However...I couldn't bring myself to enter the place because it brought bad memories for me.
I hate it, but I know it's necessary for your safety.
And you must understand that I would never be ashamed of you, I'm quiet proud of you.
After all, I was in your position when I was young.
PS. Your stepfather sends you his love and will prepare you all of your favorite food when you return home.
From your beloved mother,
Calista
You let out a happy laugh, finally feeling at ease that you misunderstood the whole situation.
Your mother loves you, but wait...
...She is a demigod.
But what do that make you?
Also who is her godly parent.
You will ask Chiron about it later, he must know who he is.
Suddenly you hear knocking on the front of your cabin door, you go to open it only to see Annabeth.
You smile at her cheerful and shyly but invite her inside.
Once she is inside, you begin apologizing.
"I'm sorry about my performance, I swear I tried my best but-"
She cuts you off.
"No need to worry, you did amazing on your first try"
Your expression brightens up.
"Thank you"
"No problem, girls stick together, am I right?" Annabeth says with a smile.
"Yes...would you like to stay over and chit chat for a bit?"
"Sure!"
And that's how you made a first female best friend in camp.
°°°
"I chose you for the quest, you cannot say no to it"
"Well, the quest is going to fail, did you not see my fighting skill? It's horrible!"
Percy as usual barged into your cabin to inform you of the quest.
"Come on, Grover and Annabeth will be there too, there is nothing to fear"
Your eyes grow big upon hearing the name 'Grover'  as a smile appears on your face.
"Grover is here? Is he also a demigod?"
°°°
"You are a Satyr?"
You tilt your head, looking down at the tan skinned boy's legs.
"Yes...weird, I know"
"No, it's not weird at all, actually it is kind of cute" you say.
Grover smiles and blushes but Percy walks between you both, to break the nearness.
"We need to focus on the quest" Percy asserts with jealousy.
"Is that Thalia?" you ask Annabeth as she says goodbye to the tree.
"Yes"
"She’s really gonna miss that tree, huh?"
Percy says sarcastically, looking with envy as you interact with Annabeth, also patting the tree gently, saying something he can't hear.
He doesn't want you to interact with anyone.
If he can lock you up, he will do it.
"When Annabeth first arrived here with Thalia and Luke, they were being chased by monsters. Agents of Hades. Sisters. Furies."
"Mrs. Dodds?" Percy points out.
"Yes! One was our algebra teacher. Alecto. Thalia turned back to fight to buy her friends some time. Her satyr protector tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t listen. So, at the last moment... Zeus intervened to save her life and... changed her form."
"The most powerful being in the universe’s best idea to save his daughter’s life... was to turn her into a tree?"
Percy mocks after his friend finishes explaining as you and Annabeth walk back to them.
"She was the bravest demigod I ever knew. She fought valiantly, and she met a hero’s fate." Annabeth defends.
"She met a pinecone’s fate."
"Percy" you exclaim, piniching his arm.
"What? I'm telling the truth"
You sigh in anger, before turning to Annabeth with a gentle expression and say.
"If I ever meet Zeus, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind"
Grover nods his head slowly at you.
"Yeah, so he can strike you down with lighting bolt"
"Can't strike me down with something he lost"
You say playfully walking ahead of them.
"She is going to get us killed" Annabeth mutter
"And I don't mind dying for her" Percy respond firmly, following after you like a lovesick puppy.
°°°
Calista walks around the house, cleaning every corner and making sure everything is in order.
She developed an OCD, ever since she became pregnant with her only daughter, you.
The demigod woman feared that all her past relationships with the gods might come back and slap her in the face through you.
She would die if something happened to you, that's why she thought it was the best decision to send you to Camp Half-Blood.
While doing house work, the doorbell rings, she walk over to the front door and opens it.
But once she sees who is on the other side, she tries to close it, but the person stops her and shoves his way in.
"This is no good way to greet me, young lady"
"What are you doing here?" Calista demands in fear.
"Well, I came to take you back to the underworld"
Hades answers back with a smirk.
"I'm not going anywhere, my daughter-"
"Don't worry, I sent someone to get her, so we can all become a big happy family"

Edit: Erased mention of the show from this post even if it was originally criticism because in hindsight, I want to avoid mentioning it at all due to the boycott.
What makes the Broken Trio (Annabeth, Thalia, and Luke) so impactful is that their bond is in stark contrast to the individual relationships the three share with their real families. Annabeth went thoroughly neglected by her father and absentee mother. The same for Luke, saddled with a mother who was tragically unavailable whether she wanted to be or not, and a father who never stepped in. And for Thalia, she never knew where she stood with her mother. Did Beryl love her daughter for her, or did she love her because she was proof of Zeus' favor. Did she truly care about Thalia--because from a little girl's perspective, she surely couldn't have cared about Jason all that much, trading his life to Hera in order to save her own--or did she just see her as a bargaining chip for immortality? And is that what love is? Later on, the same sentiment would apply to Zeus as well. Did he save her because he cared for her or because he thought she could be brought back to control the prophecy in his name?
All three of these kids were given nothing but conditional love. They all suffered under the weight of their desires to prove themselves to their parents whether out of spite (Luke, and Thalia to an extent) or love (Annabeth), because that was the only way they'd get the gods' attention, let alone their affection.
That's why it's so so important that when they came across each other and decided to form their own family, they chose to break this pattern. Luke stuck with Thalia knowing she was a magnet for danger with a huge target on her back. Thalia ignored Hal and Zoë's warnings, trusting Luke solely off who he had shown himself to be. And both of them looked at Annabeth, knowing she would slow them down--she was seven, how could she not--and decided to bring her along anyway because she deserved better and if her family wouldn't step up, they would.
These weren't rational decisions because family isn't meant to be rational and they're not Athena. They don't want to be. And we see this emotionality reflected in their choices throughout. Ever logical, strategic Annabeth believes in Luke even when she shouldn't because a long time back, he chose her when he didn't need to. There's a million different interpretations of Luke because, let's face it, his character was messy and inconsistent in canon, but what ultimately sets him apart from the gods or titans is a genuine care for his family, even if he stomps all over it at times. For Thalia, even after Luke poisoned her tree, she maintained faith in him right until the last moment on the mountain. Her breaking point was when he hurt Annabeth, leading her to purge all the good parts of Luke from her memory, forcing herself to only think about the betrayal so she could do what she believed was necessary to protect Annabeth. Not that I don't think she made the right call, but I do think this was far more of an emotional reaction than a purely practical one, which is further emphasized by how Percy (the neutral party, the outsider to this family) had to look at Luke empathetically and from both sides to make his final choice (@ruegarding has a fantastic meta on this that you should definitely check out).
Anyway, the point is: unlike the gods, these three did not perpetuate conditional love towards each other. It's essential that they saw each other, hurt and lonely, and chose to care, which is why it hurts so much when that found family breaks, and why it's the central piece that resolves everything in the end.

(kind of a continuation of this post but this is the most notes one of my pjo posts has gotten without garnering some kind of discourse and i dont really wanna touch it but i need to say this)
thinking about annabeth, the toddler daughter of a phd student whose dad already barely has time for her to the point that she is pretty much responsible for herself
annabeth, five years old, watching from the sidelines as her dad married someone she sees as a monster, moving onto things bigger and better than her, replacing her with people and kids who get more attention from him individually than she ever got in their five years alone
annabeth, seven, deciding it's time for her to move on because she's not getting any more love out of that relationship than she's already squeezed out
annabeth sometime around here learning that it's not that her mother doesn't care about her, she just has more important things to do
annabeth, barely any older, contending with thalia's death, a girl who was both a friend and a caretaker for a brief but incredibly formative time
annabeth, again, barely older, watching luke get a quest and leave her behind, hoping and praying he makes it back home to her, and then when he does, realizing he didn't come back quite right and that now even he's moving on from her, once again leaving her for bigger and better things that he keeps saying she's too young to undestand
annabeth, ten, learning about the prophecy and being told she's gonna be a part of it and starting to form an idea of how one day she's gonna find her More Important Thing if she just works hard enough, because isn't that what happens to everyone?
annabeth, 12, meeting percy and actually demanding to be a part of his quest because even though he'll probably be dead by 16, she'll be damned if she lets her chance at the More Important Thing slip away and be left behind again, so she fights like hell for her dreams and her place in the world
12, and knowing she wasn't enough to keep luke from leaving
annabeth, 13, and having to rescue grover from his More Important Thing and then watching him continue on his More Important Thing
13 still and being tempted by the hunters because if it hasn't happened, maybe the mortal world won't give her her More Important Thing
(then getting kidnapped and forced to hold the sky, no idea if anyone is coming for her, scared that everyone is too busy with their More Important Things, and finding out percy never once thought of not going after her, and beginning to realize he doesn't have his More Important Thing yet either)
14, still raw from thalia joining the hunters, and watching percy with rachel, seeing him blast himself to ogygia, and being terrified he's going to realize his More Important Thing is another girl or saving the world or something equally as more important than annabeth
15, and still scared, except now his birthday is coming up, and he might just die before she can ever get her feelings out, and then why bother?
16 and watching him reject immortality for her to help the demigods, and knowing deep in her bones that there is no More Important Thing because that's just not who he is
16, and knowing for the first time in her life that she can trust another person with her heart
16, and being somebody else's More Important Thing, and maybe letting percy be hers too
that is all

Knight of Olympus: Titans Lullaby - Ch.1: Like a Shooting Star
Summary: Jaune Arc fell, however, instead of landing on the beach of the Ever-After, he lands on the beach of Camp Halfblood. It seems like Jaune's life, is truly a Greek tragedy.

Percy Jackson has had a very long summer, what with the Sea of Monsters as well as the fact that Thalia was back and alive.
Annabeth was happy and Grover was too, and Percy couldn't be more happy fir both of them, as he was sure it was a relief to have her back, however, once she fully regained consciousness, they did have to inform her about the whole... Luke's situation, which he could tell, struck her hard.
Even worse, both he and Thalia would have to stay at Camp for the rest of the summer, or else Luke and the Demi-Gods with him, plus the other monsters, would target them.
But enough about the bad news, some good news was that Tyson had gone down to his dad's domain to work for him there, which Percy was happy to hear, he hoped that he would have a good time, but Percy still felt a little saddened by his departure, but he was sure he'd see Tyson again.
Next to that, everything was working out, and while they still had Luke and Cronus to worry about, Percy was taking a break after a long adventure, now sitting on the beach and looking up at the stars.
"There you are, Percy,"
Percy's head turned around, only to see Annabeth standing behind him. He smiled at her before responding, "Hey, Annabeth" he greeted.
Annabeth walked over and sat down next to him, "What are you doing out here?" She asked.
Percy looked back up to the sky, "Just relaxing," He replied, "definitely need it after everything recently," He told her.
Annabeth nodded in agreement, "I feel you there," she replied with a long sigh
Percy looked at her with a raised brow, "Thalia, how's she doing?" He asked.
"So far, she's doing good, Grover and I had to fill her in on everything she's missed, but she's taking it all pretty well... for the most part," She replied.
"Luke?"
Annabeth nodded.
Percy let out a sigh, knowing a little how Thalia had felt. He had trusted Luke a long time ago, he was a mentor to Percy when he first came to Camp Half-Blood, but after everything he did with Thalia's tree and in the Sea of Monsters, Percy would not forgive him. Percy then quickly put those thoughts aside and looked back to the starry sky, and when he did, he noticed something that was not normal. It looked like a shooting star and appeared as if it was coming closer to them. Percy nudged Annabeth and pointed at the object flying toward them. Both quickly stood up, ready to run should it hit the beach, however, while the object was getting closer, it was not going to hit the beach but instead struck the sea.
"What was that!?" Annabeth asked.
"How am I supposed to know that!? Wouldn't you know!?" Percy asked.
Annabeth looked at him with a raised brow, "Why would I know!?" Annabeth asked.
"You the Daughter of Athena if I recall!" Percy replied.
Annabeth groaned, "Whatever! Look, just go check what it is!"
"Why me!?"
"You're the only one who can technically breathe underwater!"
"Fine!"
Percy ran into the water, but as always, he didn't get wet, as a bubble of air surrounded him and he moved toward where he was sure the object fell into the water. Annabeth watched as Percy was fully submerged under the ocean. Annabeth waited with anxiety, wondering what had fallen into the ocean and hoping she had not just sent Percy to his doom.
After a few minutes, Percy suddenly shot out of the water with someone's arm around the back of his neck, and Percy dragged whoever it was with him.
"Annabeth! Could you help me? Quick!" Percy cried.
Annabeth ran over to the person's other side, put their arm around her neck, and helped Percy drag him back to shore. Once on the beach, they set them down on the sand and turned them over, and that was when they both finally got a good look at the person.
He had short blonde hair that seemed to spike up, and he wore what appeared to be white armor with gold trim, and had navy blue jeans, brown boots, and a red sash wrapped around his waist under a belt.
"Who is he?" Annabeth asked.
Percy shook his head and shrugged, "Don't know, but help me get his armor off, we need to perform-"
The man began to gag and spit up water from his mouth and quickly turned around to spit out more of the water that no doubt filled his lungs and once he was finished, took long and deep breaths.
"Hey! Hey! Are you ok!?" Percy asked as he had his hand on the man's back.
The man didn't answer right away but he turned to Percy with a confused look, "W-Where am I!?" he asked. "Is this Vacuo? No... Vale?"
Percy shook his head, confused about what he was talking about, "No, you're in Long Island," Replied the boy.
The man still seemed confused, "Long Island?" He asked.
Annabeth nodded, "Yeah," she replied, "Do... Do you remember how you got here?" She asked him.
The man seemed to think hard about his answer, "I remember the bridge... I was running to the gate to get to Vacuo before... I fell..." He replied, suddenly it seemed as if he remembered something, "Oh Oum... Penny... I..." he said softly, his voice nearly breaking into a sob.
Annabeth quickly reassured him, "It's alright, everything's fine now," She told him. "Can you tell me your name? Do you remember that?" She asked.
The man slowly nodded, "Yeah... my name is Jaune... Jaune Arc," He replied.
The girl nodded, "Good, good, nice to meet you, Jaune," Annabeth greeted, "My name is Annabeth, and this is Percy," she told him, gesturing to the son of the sea.
Jaune nodded, "Nice to meet you both, but can you please tell me how I got... wherever it is I am now?" He asked, still looking utterly confused.
Percy looked at him, "We saw you fall from the sky and land in the water, you looked like a shooting star, man," Percy told him. "Speaking of that... What... Are you?"
Jaune was confused, "What do you mean?"
"Are you a half-blood?" Annabeth asked.
"A what?" Jaune asked, even more confused.
Both of them exchanged a look and then Annabeth looked back at Jaune, "I think you might wanna come with us back to our camp," She told Jaune, before turning to Percy, "Maybe Chiron or Mr. D will have some answers,"
Percy chuckled, "Chiron, yes, but Mr. D... I don't think he'll care too much," He replied.
Jaune was confused, but he did as the kids said, getting up and following them back to their camp. As they walked, Percy noticed Annabeth taking a few peeks at Jaune here and there, and he was confused as to why she was doing it, but if he had to guess, she was trying to figure out who or what he was, after all, a normal person, even a half-blood, doesn't just fall out of the sky.
Percy was also wondering why he looked almost like a knight, his armor looked way too new, so a time traveler was out of the question, and Percy noticed that Jaune was looking around as if trying to figure out where he was.
Percy decided to try and get as much information out of Jaune as he could, after all, he didn't want to bring in a potentially dangerous person into the camp. "So, you never answered Annabeth's question," Percy said, "Are you a Half-blood?"
Jaune looked at him with a raised brow, "I'd answer if I knew what a Half-Blood was," Jaune replied.
"Half human, half God," Percy told him, "Like me, I'm the son of Posiden, but my mom, was human,"
Jaune seemed to be shocked by this, "Your... Your dad was a god!?" Jaune asked.
Percy nodded, "Yeah, Posiden," Percy told him.
"I... Who?" Jaune asked.
Percy was baffled that Jaune didn't know who his dad was. "You know, Posiden, god of the sea and earthquakes?" Percy said.
Jaune still seemed rather confused, which just made Percy more confused as to how Jaune couldn't know who his dad was, who in their right mind didn't know who the Olympian gods were.
"We're here," Annabeth said.
Percy turned back and saw that they were finally back at the camp, and once they arrived back, they saw a bunch of campers, still up and just training or hanging out, Percy even saw the Stroll brothers planning something, Percy then turned to make sure Jaune was still following behind them, but he saw Jaune appearing to be in shock at what he was seeing.
"What is this place?" Jaune asked.
"Camp Half-Blood, home, and safe haven to all Half-bloods as well as a summer camp for the rest of us who still have family outside," Annabeth told him.
"Ok... gonna have to ask more about that later, but for now, I'll wait," Jaune replied.
After walking through the camp, without Clairesse or her cronies popping up, which Percy thanked the gods for, they arrived at the Big House where Annabeth rushed ahead to see who was inside, and when she entered, she saw Thalia and Chiron in a conversation.
Chiron looked at Annabeth with a raised brow, "Annabeth, what seems to be the matter?
Annabeth looked at the Centaur, "Chiron, we need your help because something strange happened when Percy and I were at the Beach" Annabeth told him.
Chiron looked a little worried, "What happened?" He asked.
"He happened," Came the voice of Percy
They all turned to the doorway where both Percy and Jaune stood, and Jaune simply stood there, eyes wide, no doubt shocked at the appearance of Chiron.
"Who is he?" Chiron asked, his tone laced with worry.
Percy looked at him, "We hoped you would know," He said. "He fell from the sky like a comet!"
Chiron walked over to Jaune and looked at him, examining him for a moment, "What is your name?" he asked.
Jaune was snapped out of his shock as he looked at Chiron, "Uh, Jaune Arc, sir," Jaune said.
"I see... why are you wearing armor?" Chiron asked.
"Well, for protection," Jaune replied.
Chiron sighed with a smile, "Yes, of course, but why are you wearing it? What are you protecting yourself from?" Chiron asked.
Jaune realized what he meant and quickly answered, "Oh, well, from Grimm," He replied
"Grim? Like the brothers Grim?" Annabeth asked with a raised brow.
"Uh... I don't know if I've ever heard them called that..." Jaune replied, referring to his own gods.
However, before more could be said, Mr. D entered the room, a diet coke in his hand and he appeared to be going for the fridge, only to suddenly stop and quickly turn to the group, where his eyes fell on Jaune.
Chiron looked at him, "Ah, Mr. D, we were just-"
However, Mr. held up his hand to silence him as he walked over to Jaune and looked the young man up and down before looking him in the eyes, "Name?" he asked.
"Jaune Arc, and who-?"
"Shush!" Mr. D told him.
Mr. D then proceeded to look him over and then looked at Chiron, "Where'd you find him?" He asked.
"Percy says he fell from the sky," Chiron said.
Mr. D then glanced at Percy and let out a sigh, "Another thing involving you, eh, Peter Johnson?"
Jaune turned to Percy with a raised brow, "I thought your name was Percy?"
"It is!" Percy said with an annoyed groan.
"Whatever," Mr. D said. "Well, he's no half-blood, he's human,"
Chiron looked at him with a raised brow, "But how is that possible?" he asked. "He shouldn't being seeing all of this, much less have passed the barrier if he were human,"
"Because he's not a regular human," Mr. D said. "You're not... from here are you?" Mr. D asked Jaune. "This world, am I right?"
Jaune took a moment to answer but he gave the god of wine a quick nod, "Yeah, wherever "here" is, I'm starting to think so..." Jaune replied.
Mr. D snapped his finger and pointed to the sky as he turned around, "Right!" he said. "Chiron send words to the gods that we've got some big news! Very big news! Gonna have to call an emergency meeting!" He said.
Chiron was confused, "What for?" He asked. "What do you know?"
Mr. D turned around and looked at the Centaur with a smirk, "Because this guest of ours... is not from this world," Mr. D said.
Everyone was confused as to what he was talking about, but Chiron did as Mr. D asked and sent word to the gods about what Mr. D had said and quickly, they all responded quickly and said that the Meeting would happen soon and to bring Jaune to Olympus right away.
Jaune had no idea what was going on, where he was, or who he was going to meet at this "Olympus" but there was one thing Jaune was sure about...
He wasn't on Remnant anymore, and he was sure things were just going to get more complicated... as if they weren't complicated enough.
Jaune's hand touched his side and noticed that Crocea Mors was not strapped to his side, it was gone, yet he could've sworn he had it strapped to his side Jaune looked at Percy, "Hey, Percy, did you see a sword and sheath when you saved me?" he asked.
Percy looked at him and shook his head, "No, why? You had one on you?" Percy asked him.
Jaune nodded, "Yeah," Jaune replied. "But I guess it's gone now," He said.
Percy noticed the sad expression on Jaune's face, "If you want, I can take a look in the area where you fell to see if I can find it, Jaune," Percy replied.
Jaune slowly shook his head, "No, it's alright," Jaune replied. "Let it be lost," Jaune replied.
Jaune didn't want to see that weapon again. But he would... sooner or later.

Jaune, along with Mr. D and Chiron arrived at the Empire State Building, however, Jaune was given some campe attire before arriving, once they got out of the van, and began walking into the lobby, Jaune looked at Chiron, now sitting in his wheelchair.
"So... how is this going to go down?" Jaune asked him.
Chiron looked at him, "Honestly, I don't know, in all my life, such a thing as a man from another world and appearing in ours has never occurred," Chiron said. "But a word of advice, Jaune, be as respectful as you can, the gods are easily angered,"
"Well, not all of us,"
Jaune jumped as he turned to his right only to see a man. The man had a nice bronze tan, a sun tattoo on his left shoulder, and wore a pair of sunglasses obscuring his eyes. He had sandy blonde hair that seemed to glow brightly and wore a sleeveless light grey shirt, faded jean shorts, and a pair of sandals.
Chiron smiled when he saw the man, "Ah, Lord Apollo, a pleasure," he greeted.
Apollo looked at the Centaur with a smirk, "Sup Chiron, been a while, how are my kids doing?"
"All are well, and out of everyone, it seems Will has picked up your knack for healing, he's been reading a lot of books on the subject," Chiron said with a smile.
Apollo smirked, "Kids gonna do wonders that's for sure," Apollo said. He then turned to Jaune with a smirk, "And you must be the man from another world, eh? Nice to meet you, I'm Apollo, God of the Sun," He greeted.
Jaune smiled at him nervously, "A pleasure to meet you, Apollo," Jaune greeted back, "Jaune Arc, Huntsman," Jaune replied with a smile.
Apollo's brow raised, "Huntsmen? That a job title or something?" Apollo asked.
Mr. D suddenly appeared and nodded, "Yes, turns out where he's from, he hunts monsters called Grimm," Mr. D told Apollo.
"Sick!" Apollo said with a smile, "Also, good to see you D!" Apollo said, greeting his half-brother.
Mr. D rolled his eyes, "Yes, wish I could say the same," He replied, "Now then, I think the others are waiting, so let's not keep them waiting or else," Mr. D replied.
Chiron nodded, "Yes, you three should be off, I will wait down here with the Van," Chiron said. "Good luck, Jaune," Chiron told him.
Jaune looked back at him and gave him a quick nod, "Thank you, Chiron,"
With that, the two gods and Huntsmen went inside and made their way to the elevator, Apollo pressed a button and the four went up, and as they did, Jaune couldn't help but feel himself getting more and more nervous. After all, he was in another world and meeting said Gods of this world, who may or may not decide his fate.
Finally, the elevator stopped and when the doors opened, Jaune was in awe at the sight of the throne room, the chairs were massive and so too, were the gods, each dressed up in certain clothing, some looked ancient, others in more modern clothing.
"Seems that Apollo and Dionysus have arrived," Said Posiden.
"Good then," Zeus said, "Then let them take their seats and we can begin," He said.
Apollo and Mr. D grew larger and walked over to their thrones, sitting on them and facing Jaune, who looked up at them with both shock and awe but quickly snapped out of it as he realized the meeting was about to begin.
Zeus looked at the other gods, "We're gathered here today to discuss Jaune Arc, the man from another world, and to assess if he is friend or foe," Zeus said. "First, Jaune Arc, why have you come to our world? What are your intentions?" the king of the Gods asked.
Jaune looked at him and knew that he must be Zeus since he was the first to speak, "I'll be honest, I don't know how I came here, to your world, as for what my intentions are, I don't know that either," Jaune replied.
"You do not know how you arrived in our world?" Hera asked.
Jaune nodded, "Yes," He replied.
To his left, Posiden leaned over and seemed to try to get a closer look at Jaune, "Well, he is indeed human... but there's something different about him,"
"I see it too," Zeus said. "Tell us what that thing that surrounds your body," Zeus said.
Jaune was confused as to what Zeus had meant, but quickly realized what he may have been referring to, "Do you mean my Aura?" Jaune asked.
"Is that what you call it?" Athena asked. "Interesting... what does this Aura do?" She asked.
"It protects me from any physical damage for a while but gets weaker the more I'm hit, but thanks to my Semblance, it allows me to boost it back fully if it gets too low," Jaune replied.
Athena nodded, no doubt finding the power that the young knight possessed interesting, but still looked at Jaune as if analyzing every inch of him, trying to figure out if he was a threat or not, based on the information of his powers.
Hera looked at the young man, and asked another question, "Tell us about your world, Jaune Arc," she told him.
Jaune nodded, and he explained to the Olympians what Remnant was, the dangers of it, what his and his friend's jobs were, and the threat that he and his world faced. After telling them about his world, Jaune noticed that some of the gods were interested in where he came from, but a few, he couldn't get a read on.
However, instead of asking more questions about his world, Zeus decided to continue the questioning of the young knight. "Tell me, Jaune Arc, what do you remember before you arrived in our world?" Zeus asked.
Jaune gulped, feeling terrible talking about it, but he had to tell them, so he began to tell them about the plan he had made back in Atlas, the bridge, Cinder's surprise attack, RWBY's defeat, and then... Penny's death and his part in it. At that point, Jaune was visibly shaken and he felt the words caught in his throat. However, he took a few deep breaths and continued, telling them how he missed the gate and fell, and then how he was saved by Percy and Annabeth.
The gods were indeed intrigued by the blonde story and were each trying to take all the information in, and after a few minutes, Zeus sat forward and looked at his fellow gods.
"I believe it is time to decide on what to do with Jaune Arc," Zeus said.
Hearing that, Jaune felt his heart nearly stop, as his mind raced with a million thoughts on what they could decide. Would they see him as a threat and kill or imprison him? Would they force him to work for them? Would they try and help him find a way back home?
As Jaune's mind was racing with these thoughts, Apollo sat forward and looked at Zeus, "If I may, I'd like to not kill him or imprison him," Apollo said.
Artemis looked at her brother with a raised brow, "Any reason why, dear brother?" she asked.
Apollo looked back at her with a smile, "I don't see him as a threat, and he could be a great asset to the demigods at Camp Halfblood, " Apollo said. "Plus, I like him, and he hasn't wronged us in any way, so why do anything harmful, when he hasn't proved to be a threat?"
Artemis nodded, "I have to agree with you, brother," She said. "I'm with Apollo,"
"I'd have to agree with my nephew and niece, brother," Posiden said as he looked at Zeus, "We can have him teach the children at Camp, this way we can keep an eye on him, and assess if he's a threat or not, should he be a threat, we can easily punish him, but if he shows he is useful, then we shall trust him,"
Zeus seemed to contemplate what he had heard from the Sun god, before addressing the other 11. "I believe Apollo may have the right idea as well as Posiden," He said. "Jaune Arc will serve Camp Halfblood as the new combat instructor, where he will be monitored by Dionysus and Chiron, and also serve gods like the rest of the Demigods to test to see if he is friend or foe... All in favor?" Zeus asked.
Every god raised their hand in agreement.
Zeus gave a quick nod, "Good," He said, then looking down at the mortal man. "You are dismissed, Jaune Arc, you are to return to Camp Halfblood as soon as possible," Zeus ordered. "And remember, we are watching you,"
Jaune nodded and because he didn't know what else to do, he bowed quickly before looking at the gods. "Thank you, and uh... have a good day," Jaune told them before leaving.
The gods themselves also began to disperse and leave the meeting, and Mr. D walked with Jaune back to the elevator, and the god patted him on the back. "Welcome aboard kid, and good luck," Mr. D told him, "You're gonna need it," He said.
Jaune looked at him with a raised brow, but he had a feeling he was right.
As he left, a certain goddess watched him leave as a million thoughts ran through her head, she didn't like unknowns, and Jaune Arc was now the greatest unknown to her as well as the rest of her family, but she wasn't just going to stand by and watch, she would test him and in those tests, analyze him and figure out if he posed a threat to them all.
She wasn't the goddess of wisdom and battle plans for nothing, after all...

Wonderland pt 1
Part 1 (Eventually) Yandere Luke castellan x Gender neutral reader
Summary you're from wonderland well at least you're mother is you're father is a God. The best swordsman in camp takes an.... interesting and obsessive liking to you
Also I feel like we offen forget wine isn't the only thing Dionysus is the God of but madness as well. I currently have bad writers block and couldn't currently think of anything else to add so I decided to split it into parts since I needed to post something.
Trigger warnings nothing yet, but eventually in future parts yandere themes like stalking, manipulation, kidnapping (extra)
Tumblr media
You weren't from this world well......technically you are you were from a part of the world everyone thought was made up just another part of the human imagination......Wonderland . Wonderland was very.....disconnected from actual sane people or large bustling cities like New York. Your mother was probably one of the subjects of the queen of hearts just kinda surviving. Your father isn't exactly normal either he was also never around. Honestly as much as you love your mother it was kinda hard to imagine a God falling for her or really a God falling for anyone in Wonderland because while some of the inhabitants of Wonderland is more sane then others even the more sane ones start to go insane eventually.
Which is why when you were 13 you ran away from home. Although you had no clue where to go or what to do now you had left Wonderland. You're clothes and mismatched socks probably also made you stand out to by standers because in real life on Earth the other humans weren't used to seeing people dress in bright colors and patterns unless celebrating. After a few days of wandering aimlessly you ran into help or rather help ran into you.
You were desperately scrounging around for food thinking maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave home when you felt someone run smack into you causing you both to tumble towards the ground. "Oh my pan! I'm so sorry." A male voice said. He had ...goat horns? Ehh not the weirdest thing you've ever seen. "Are those horns really or .....?" You asked. "They're real. Oh I'm Grover. " Grover replied. You weren't sure what to say or do and that's how you met Grover. After about a week of traveling with Grover is when you met Luke, Thalia and Annabeth.
" Hey Grover I'm going to find something to eat for myself. " You replied. " Ok just don't go far I'll finish setting up camp." Grover said. You did in fact wander to far when you stumbled upon a bush full of berries and you were about to eat some when you heard a voice tell you to wait. "Wait, don't eat those! those are holly berries they are poisonous!" A young female voice exclaimed. You looked around for the source of the voice. You spotted a young girl no older than 7 standing between some trees you could make out 2 more figures behind her one another female and the other male. You backed away your left hand reaching for a dagger in your pocket you swear wasn't there a moment ago while you're right hand still held the berries.
" Who are you why should I trust you?" You questioned. You got a closer look at them the seven year old girl had grey eyes , black hair and brown skin, the other gir who looked about a year younger than you so 12 had choppy short black hair , blue eyes and is white. She pushed the younger seven year old behind her. " Thalia I can protect myself!" The seven year old exclaimed. While the two girls were arguing you managed to sneak away not noticing the male following you.
" Grover!" You exclaimed finally making it back to the very stressed looking satyr. Grover rushed over to you. " Y/n there you are! You were gone for an hour I was worried I was calling your name but no reply and I didn't want to leave the fire unattended. Your not hurt are you?" Grover asked like a panicked father looking over you to make sure you didn't have any new injuries. " Hey Grover I'm ok. I'm ok." You replied. " Pan Y/n you had me so worried!" Grover exclaimed. "LUKE!" The older female voice Thalia called out causing You and Grover to look in the direction of Thalia's voice and there stood the male that had been with the 2 younger females.
Now learning his name is Luke. You started to reach for your dagger once again.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. "

the harder the pain, the sweeter the sun
the aftermath of Luke's quest. or the consequences of not being a hero.
a/n: hello i didn't mean to be so sad on my entrance but we move! have fun (i'm so sorry)
It shouldn’t be like this, he thinks as he steps back across Camp Half-Bloods borders. There’s still the same mill of activity, archery and pegasi and swords grating against one another. Everything is exactly as it was when he left. Some people notice him as he makes his way towards his cabin - they don’t make small talk, what’s the point of that when he’s not the hero returned. His scar, still fresh, still raised and red across his face, feels heavy. It’s almost a beacon; a guiding light towards his failure. No one comments but he can feel it, the shift in energy as he walks past each cabin. Pity for the son of Hermes.
His bunk is untouched.
Collapsing onto the sheets, he glances around the space. It’s only him here, faced with his own reckoning and renown. His bunk is untouched but there’s two abandoned opposite, a careful stack of belongings at the end of each. Before dinner, he’ll change those sheets. He’ll pack Cora and Eric’s belongings into a box to stow away in the big house, amongst a dozen others he’s left there over the years, and he’ll burn shrouds to them with his campmates in the evening.
Luke wonders, as he takes in the makeshift beds on the floor, if it was even worth coming back at all.
Everyone moves on. Within days, there’s barely a mention of either of his quest companions. Both of them were unclaimed, watching their lives tick by in the two years he’d known them with little idea of who they were. The Stoll twins were given their beds upon their arrival at camp two days after he returned. They had been claimed, sent in the right direction by Hermes himself, and Luke despises the way he has to sit down with people he’s known for years and tell them they’re back to sleeping on the floor. Seniority is one thing - being claimed is more important.
He trains. It’s the only thing he can do. There’s no pride that comes with failure. Some of the Ares kids jeer at him but none of them try to fight him, just watch as he fights with Annabeth like old times. Knife against sword. He trains and he studies and he watches as the floor of Hermes cabin becomes a minefield of belongings as summer peaks.
Little will change between now and fall, he knows that with certainty. He’ll still be stuck burning food for his father, willing something to happen that will earn him a deserved quest. Maybe it’s foolish, this desire to try again, to keep going on quests until he returns from one he can say was his. Not a feat of Hercules, but a tale of Luke. He has camp glory, he needs more than that.
*
Summer ends, as it always did. He says goodbye to more cabinmates than anyone, standing at the edge of the borders until the sun is nearly setting in the sky. Thalia’s tree is behind him as the last kid leaves, an eleven year old girl that had done nothing more than stare with wide eyes every time he lifted a sword. He wonders if he’ll see her next June at all.
“Back to basics again,” Annabeth says from behind him and he rolls his eyes as she shimmers into existence, baseball cap in hand. “Do you think it’ll get easier?”
He forgets sometimes that she’s still a kid. Wise beyond her years, a strategist to be admired, but just a kid. And a first time cabin counselor. She hasn’t said goodbyes like this before, to everyone she’s housed over three months. Teenagers that had looked to her as their leader, even if they didn’t understand her being given such power. Children who revered her position and her history as if she were a Greek tale herself.
Luke had understood it, had fought for it in April when Kieran Ho had sent word to Chiron that he wouldn’t be returning that summer. She had seemed so prepared to take on the role. He hadn’t realized that it might take more of an emotional toll than she was ready for.
“Honestly,” he leans back against Thalia’s tree, surveying the camp below them as if he’s never seen it before. Annabeth glares at him for it. “It gets harder every year. It doesn’t end.”
“Some of those kids aren’t coming back.” Annabeth says it as a statement, a fact of life that they’ve both come to terms with. But there’s a shake to her voice, the kind saved only for when she’s terrified of being wrong, so he lets it linger in the air and get carried away. He thinks that’s answer enough.
*
Winter Solstice comes and he feels ready. Months of only fighting Clarisse and Annabeth. Meals spent with the busiest table still, but with nothing to talk about. So long dedicated to being angry, to dreaming, to waking up in a cold sweat from everything he’s been given permission to see.
He steals the bolt. It’s a simple plan, one he doubted originally, but it works a charm. There’s no questioning how important the Gods think of themselves anymore, how above everybody else they view themselves (literally and figuratively) to be. He escapes from floor 600 of the Empire State Building with the source of Zeus’ power in his possession and no one bats an eye.
Annabeth will never have to come to terms with losing campers. Thalia’s sacrifice won’t be in vain the way it has been since his return. Hermes won’t be able to ignore him any longer, pretending as if being a glorified mailman means more than his son. By next summer, the world will already have begun to change.
Trekking through Manhattan, he understands now why he was destined to fail against Ladon. What his scar will come to represent in years to come. Luke Castellan was never meant to steal an apple - he was destined, instead, to change history and with that, the world.

Hey guys! I'm back to talk about something that I've been thinking about for a solid week and I'm ready to info dump.
So, I've been thinking about just how much Percy and Luke are the same character. They are so much the same and it's really amazing just how much detail and thought Rick put into making it where Luke and Percy go through so many of the same things and life experiences.
Like, It's something that I had noticed from the beginning, but it wasn't until just recently when I reread some parts from The lightning thief, and the from The diary of Luke short story, that I realized just how similar Luke and Percy are.
Let's start with just the way both of their characters are written. They both have the same underlying anger towards their fathers for leaving their mother's alone to deal with terrible things. In Sally's case, that is Gabe. In May's case it's the curse of Delphi that has driven her insane.
Both Luke and Percy have the same feelings of self doubt. The way they treat and talk to their friends or people they consider important, are very much the same. They act the same towards people who they don't know and don't trust. They have that same underlying snarky humor. It was scary how when I was reading TDoL, that I thought I was just reading something from Percy's pov.
And that's far from all of it! Another thing that I realized that they have in common is that there is a character that represents the promises that they couldn't keep or fullfil. Let me explain.
With Luke, that character is Annabeth. In TDoL, Luke promises Annabeth that Thalia and he would be her family. Did he know how to even be a family given that he had never had one? No. But he was going to try for Annabeth. However, he wasn't able to keep that promise, especially with Kronos brain washing and manipulating him. Breaking that promise is something that he feels guilty for all the way to his death. It was a constant reminder that he had failed those he held dear.
With Percy, that character is Nico. In The Titans Curse, Nico makes Percy promise that he would protect Bianca and make sure that nothing happens to her. Percy says that he's not sure if he could do that. He had no idea he would even be able to protect himself, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't try to keep his promise to Nico. Unfortunately, he's not able to and Bianca dies. He wasn't able to keep his promise and that guilt follows him. And Nico himself was a reminder for sometime of the promise that Percy wasn't able to keep.
So in short, Nico is to Percy what Annabeth was to Luke. A physical manifestation of their inadequacy and failure.
Both Percy's and Luke's stories have so many parallels to them and it's quite clear to see. Which is why I find it a bit funny when others say that, "Percy would've never done what Luke did!" To which I have to say, "are you sure?"
Because really, there would've only needed to be one major change and Percy could've easily ended up in Luke's position. If Sally wouldn't have been a strong pillar for Percy. If she would've ended up like May, it would've been quite easy to get Percy to change sides. Because it's quite evident that Percy loves Sally and would do anything if it meant making her happy and keeping her protected. If Kronos would've went to Percy instead and promised to help Sally and keep her protected, Percy would've joined him. Because let's not forget that Percy's fatal flaw being loyalty gets him into some rough situations if he thinks that he'll be able to help or save a loved one. It would've been easy for Kronos to manipulate him like that.
The only main difference with Percy and Luke, is that if Percy would've been the one that Kronos was able to manipulate into being his vessel? He would've won. With Percy's amazing power and strength combined with the power of Kronos, the gods would've never stood a chance. Not to say that Luke didn't have his strengths. He was cunning and charming. He had a fierce determination to see change. He was able to rally others to his cause.
However, Percy also shows those same attributes in his own journey. There is a reason why everyone else at Camp Half Blood so willingly rallied behind him and trusted him as leader, and it wasn't just because of the amount of times he had saved the world at that point. There was a reason why so many people were drawn to Percy, and not all of it was just Aphrodite playing with his love life.
Long story short, Luke and Percy are basically the same character with just how much they have in common, and I think it's time that we talk about it more 😌💜
(Ps. Sorry I wasn't on here for a good bit. I'm ok, life has just been... Rough. But I'm back to my usual delusional ramblings again 😌👌)

Luke, dying: Did you love me?
Annabeth: Like a—
Percy: Yes.
*Percy and Luke look into each other’s eyes and Percy kisses him gently.*
Tumblr media
*I'm just going to go crazy with this! And borrow some inspiration from a show my mom likes called Grey's Anatomy. Also hope you don't mind me changing canon a bit.*
Nico didn't know what happened. At a certain point the whole building shook as if a tiny earthquake was happening. Loud painful screams filled everywhere. It terrified Nico because they sounded like someone familiar to him. They sounded like Percy Jackson.
Of course, before he could investigate Nico had slipped and hit his head from falling debre. He didn't know how long he was asleep. But he felt someone trying to wake him up.
"Nico wake up! Wake up I need your help!"
Nico finally did wake up, and he woke up to the last person he wanted to ever see. Blonde curly hair and silver eyes of one Annabeth Chase angrily starring down at him.
"Get up! I need your help!", the daughter of Athena stated. Not asked, stated, as if it was an already done deal. Nico ignores her and looks around. The room leading to the gods thrones and hearth is in shambles. Pieces of ceiling everywhere. Furniture broken, glass windows shattered. A pillar broken and fallen over is blocking the door way to the throne room.
"NICO! Are you even listening to me?"
"No. Where is Percy? You and Grover were suppose to be with him. What happened?"
"That's what I've been trying to tell you! Percy kicked us both out of the room. Than he started making earthquakes happen!"
Nico's eyes widen at this, both in fear and worry.
"Grover went to get help, I've been stuck by the door trying to move debris. Percy won't listen. He's all alone in there with him."
"With who? What exactly happened?"
Annabeths eyes go sad.
~flashback~
"I'm not giving him a knife so he can kill himself Annabeth!"
"It's part of the Prophecy you have to!"
"Percy it will be alright. I'm your enemy anyway remember?"
"NO!"
When the deed was done it felt like Percy had stabbed himself too. What makes him break and shatter is that he hands the knife. It has to be him.
Percy holding Luke in his arms after stabbing himself, Annabeth kneeling next to them. Blood is staining Percy's arms. Luke's breathing is slowly down. His blue sky eyes look hazy and clouded.
Luke looks up to both of them. His voice asks desperately, "Did you love me?" A bubble of blood comes out of his mouth and stains his lips. It makes Percy start crying, desperate too for every second so Luke can stay longer.
Annabeth starts to say, "I've only seen you as a brother, but I dont-
Before she can finish the room starts shaking. Percy with a dark voice and the ocean in his eyes, "Annabeth stop it!" It scares Annabeth into dead silence.
Than Percy turns back to Luke, "She loves you ok Luke. Even Thalia and the other campers still love you ok. They were angry at what you did, but everyone still loves you. Your mom still loves you."
Luke stares at Percy, as if waiting.
"I love you too, ok Luke. So you can't die. You have so many people who still love you." Percy sobs in between words.
Luke finally smiles, and brings Percy's face close to his. " I love you Percy, I think I always have."
Luke gentle as a feather kisses a shocked Percy's lips. Blood staining his. "I'll try for reincarnation. Either way I'll see you in Elysium ok."
Percy's eyes go round with fear." No no no no, Luke you have to stay with me ok. Stay with me."
"We're soulmates Percy. We'll find each other again. I promise."
Luke's eyes flutter shut. And they don't open again. The light in Percy's eyes go with him. That's when the screaming, and the shaking of the whole building really starts.
~end flashback~
"You just left him in the room!"
"What did you expect me to do?! He almost killed us!"
Nico says nothing, just gives Annabeth a dark look. Than wordlessly grabs her arm and shadow travels into the room Percy is in. What they find is heartbreaking.
Percy leaning against one wall with a dead Luke in his arms. From how Percy has them positioned. It looks like Luke is just sleeping(if it wasn't for the blood and the paleness of death), with Percy leaning his head against Luke's neck.
Nico does not like the look in Percy's eyes. They look lifeless and numb. As if Percy is not all there.
Nico drops Annabeths arm and the both of them head towards Percy. Kneeling in front of him.
"Percy we need to go. The gods cannot find out you destroyed their throne room,"Annabeth says.
Percy doesn't answer. He just looks ahead at nothing. Holding Luke's dead body gently.
Annabeth goes to touch Percy. That's what finally gets a reaction.
"Don't. Touch. Me." Percy says this quietly, but cold. Sad. Darkness in his voice.
Nico drags Annabeth's hand away. Annabeth still doesn't take the hint. "Percy we need to move!"
"Leave me alone I want to stay with Luke."
Annabeth looks at Nico with wide troubled eyes. "Go stand over there. I'll deal with this," Nico tells Annabeth. She agrees. Which is a surprise, but Nico is grateful. Nico kneels closer to Percy but not touching him.
"Percy, I know you want to stay here with him. But you can't." Nico speaks softly and gently.
"Leave me alone." Percy voice replies dull and lifeless.
"Percy that's not Luke anymore."
Percy at that, holds Luke closer and closes his eyes tight. "Shut. Up."
"Percy the minute he died. Is when he stopped being Luke. His soul is probably in the underworld by now. I know you love him," Nico tears up at this, but pushes down his feelings and continues. He is a son of Hades.
"He probably loves you too. And someone who loves you like that would not want to see you do this to yourself. Because that's not Luke, not anymore"
At that Percy finally looks at Nico. There's a little life in his eyes. "You want to hear something crazy? I was never ment to be the hero in the prophecy. My whole job, was to hand Luke, the real hero. The knife to kill himself himself with." Percy starts laughing at this. With tears coming out of his eyes. One of his hands runs through Luke's hair. "My only job was to kill my soulmate at the right moment. Right before he died he was telling me he loved me. He loves me. And now he's dead from me helping him kill himself!" Percy starts sobbing and laughing. "Isn't that ridiculous? Isn't that the most ridiculous piece of crap you ever heard!" Percy than cries into Luke's neck. Nico starts crying too. He gently takes a hold of Percy's arm to hold him. Percy let's go of Luke(finally) and let's Nico hold him. Crying in his arms. Crying so loud it echos in the room. Nico rocks Percy in his arms saying nothing.
Luke's corpse stays leaning by the walls. Still looking like he's just sleeping.
@dark-emperor-ciska I took a lot from this scene in a show my mom loves called greys anatomy. I'm not a fan. But that scene this is based on hit me really hard. it gave me inspiration. If you want a link to said scene let me know. I hope you like this. I don't think it's any good.

SPOILERS FOR THE LAST PJO EPISODE !
So I just saw the last episode of the Percy Jackson serie, and at first I was kind of surprised because they didn't put the scorpio (?) poisoning Percy, but I think it was for the better.
Their duel feels more meaningful, more important. Because the thing is, not only does Luke understand how Percy feel about the gods, but they're also very similar. Although on different sides, they have very similar views.
The explanation is not just Luke trying to recruit Percy, it's also him making understand how they both see the flaws of the gods, and how it needs to change (though he wants this change to happen thanks to Kronos, whereas Percy believes that the gods are trying and can do better).
And Annabeth being here, hidden in the shadows invisible? Heartbreaking. She hears everything, and it pains her so much because this is her big brother. They're family, and by betraying camp, he's also betraying her. He's betraying his family: Thalia and Annabeth.
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the scene felt more meaningful and like it was adding a deeper layer to Percy and Luke's story, but also to Annabeth and Luke. They are developing the different relationships, and I'm here for it.

How do we think Annabeth coped with going to college in New Rome? Genuinely. She grew up at a camp where she was sure every moment could be her last. If she didn't train hard enough, if she couldn't outthink a monster or beat a trap or plan accordingly, she'd die. Her friends would die, her siblings would die (she already lost Thalia, even though she came back. She lost Luke, even though he betrayed her. Not to mention the countless siblings that must have died in the war.)
But...it's not just that. I feel like we've talked about how Percy and Annabeth would feel when they saw a city of grown up demigods with great grandkids something that's literally unheard of.
How do we think Annabeth coped with actually life? I mean cleaning the house and doing the dishes. I mean making sure she made time for herself besides work. I mean filing taxes and learning to drive and going grocery shopping. (She'd probably never work a retail job, but if she had to for some reason, what about that?)
You'd think it'd be obvious at first: she'd do great. But really? She grew up at a camp where she knew she was going to die young—hopefully in a blaze of glory. Where she was raised by other teenagers, where she was raising the kids younger than her. There's a solidarity in that, that New Rome won't have with their military system.
Not only would she lose her community, she'd lose the family and friends she'd spent her whole life around. The campers that are still alive were there for almost all her firsts. She went to camp at seven, seven years old, those people are her entire world.
So, now she's eighteen and living with her boyfriend in an actual city for the first time. Think about all the struggles she would have? New Rome would obviously have dyslexia and ADHD accommodations, almost everyone there has both. But...that can't fix everything. Those dyslexia accommodations are in Roman, not Greek, so it doesn't help any of the Greek demigods. The ADHD accommodations might not even exist because of New Rome's army. I feel like they would've been taught to suppress their ADHD and not let it get in the way of conformity and discipline (the roman way of fighting). It'd be seen as a form of weakness if they let those impulses take over them. (See how Jason and Hazel and Reyna act in the books. Though this could be chalked up to inconsistent writing.)
How does she deal with rigid scheduling of New Rome vs the lax, teenage-run camp of her youth? The discipline aspect can't mend well with her ADHD, especially when she's spent the last eleven years around people who get it. When she's spent the last eleven years not having to comply to "normal society" standards. Do you think she had problems with deadlines for classes she didn't like? Because she hyper fixated on architecture design, she wouldn't have had a problem with designing Olympus. But for her English class that she's has to take to graduate? No way, she'd procrastinate the hell out of it. What about waking up for her eight am when she has a really good idea for a new design and just needs a couple more minutes...and suddenly its hours later and Percy is home and she's losing participation points because she can't remember to go to class.
What about anxiety? Annabeth hasn't been around these people before. Not like at camp, where she knew everyone. That must ease the anxiety quite a bit. The social aspect gets easier because most everyone grew up with that little girl who stumbled into camp. She already knew Grover, and had Luke to hold her hand through social interactions when she was younger. By the time she got older she has that confidence in herself to be able to mess around and have fun with these people. But to New Rome, she's a war leader, she's a Greek demigod. She's an unknown variable that they don't know how to deal with.
How could she talk to them? None of them knew her as the kid who would take any dare. Or heard her ramble on and on about her hyper fixations to anyone who would listen. They don't see her prank the Stolls back (you can't tell me she wouldn't) or run through the strawberry fields after a rainstorm and get covered in mud for the fun of it.
No, all they saw was a war leader and someone who had clawed their way back from Tartarus. They saw how she spoke about the Gods when they still respected them. They heard that she traversed to Olympus all the time while she remodeled it. She spoke to Gods that none of her peers could dream of being in the presence of.
How could she make friends with those people? With people who didn't understand the blood, sweat, and tears it took to get here. With people who respected an institution Annabeth had long since given up on. With people who saw her for her titles and her quests rather than who she was as a person.
Looping back around, let's go to real life stuff. Annabeth had to pay for things on quests, but do we really think she knows how money works? At camp, everyone basically uses drachmas. And even then, their basic needs are being met. They don't have to pay for food, housing, water, etc. You can't tell me Chiron takes the camp van to the mall whenever year-round campers want clothes. They're either bought for them, or the Aphrodite kids make it, or one of the older kids goes out with the camp credit card and just...buys the whole store to bring back. Drachmas are usually only used for bets and dealing with entities on quests.
For the first time in her life, (since she was seven and really seven year olds don't understand how money works, not matter how smart they are. Plus Luke or Thalia would probably be the ones buying stuff, since they were older and it'd be less questionable if they walked into a store by themselves than a little kid.) her basic needs aren't guaranteed. If she fucks up, it's her fault. Do you think she drained their bank account buying something at the store (because, again, she hasn't really gone to those other than when she's on a quest) and had a panic attack over the fact that she, Annabeth Chase, who commanded armies over two wars, who was known as one of the greatest demigods to date, just fucked up big time? Because she wasn't used to having to spend the money on rent and textbooks and supplies for her architecture business. Because food was always there for her to eat when she was hungry and the water always ran and the lights never went out? Do you think that after all this time she forgot that stuff like that wasn't always going to be there?
She grew up thinking she was going to die young. She was going to die at Camp Half-Blood where those things would always be in full stock.
What about the apartment? She's not used to having her own kitchen, or bathroom that wasn't communal. Do you think she sought out the snacks her siblings liked before remembering that she siblings weren't there, they were hundred of miles away in New York. Do you think she knew how to clean an entire house? How to keep a house clean? Obviously as Head Counselor of the Athena Cabin, she'd make sure it was clean in time for inspections. But did that include kids using chemicals to deep clean? Did that include remembering to vacuum under the furniture every so often, or did they leave it since Chiron didn't look under there. (Again, everyone here is teenagers at the oldest, they're not gonna want to deep clean). Do you think that she didn't pick up clutter because she was so used to rushing last minute to make sure her and her sibling's clutter was clean in time for inspections that the thought of doing it regularly just...never crossed her mind?
Also, driving. We know Percy learned for Paul when he turned fifteen (aka the iconic horse hooves on the hood of the car scene), but who taught Annabeth? Did any of the older campers know? Did Luke? They either got drove around by Argus or didn't leave. They had pegasi to fly around camp and boats of war. Who was going to sit down with fifteen year old Annabeth and teach her how to drive? Especially with the war getting close. Nobody would have time, even if they wanted to. Who was going to take fifteen year old Annabeth Chase to get her drivers permit when they were making plans of attack instead. After the war, Percy went missing and all her time was taken up looking for him. You can't tell me she took driving classes when she was tearing the world apart to find him.
We also know Annabeth doesn't like to have to depend on other people. Since they either died or betrayed her. So how would she feel walking into a world where it's hard to get around without a car. Buses can be inconsistent and close early. Idk about a subway system in California, but still there's that dependance on other peoples' schedules. She'd have to have friends drive her to and from places, but again, she left most of her community behind in New York. She can't just use Blackjack to get around if she goes into the mortal world.
I'm not sure, I'd just like to see more explorations of Annabeth dealing with mundane tasks she never learned how to do. I want to see the impact of living when she thought she was going to die young and not knowing how to deal with adult things. I want to see how she reaches to the institution of New Rome and how people treat her. I want to see how she feels when she never thought she'd have to pay taxes or worry about apartments and yet...there is she.

Lmao someone said Percy's not a well written character bc he's written to be perfect and lacks character flaws 🤣 and their only argument was "even his fatal flaw was being too good of a friend"
Bruh, what. Do these people not know the difference between "Fatal flaw" and "ONLY flaw"?
Did they not see Percy constantly falling for the old-ass tricks the monsters of greek myths pulled because he is too much of a 12-year-old with ADHD to go "hum, maybe I should study the easily accessible information on these creatures that are constantly trying to kill me and my friends?"
Did they not see how he felt VERY uncomfortable with and downright ashamed of Tyson, his disabled friend that he had previously defended from bullies, when he was revealed to actually be his half brother? How he kept trying to downplay their connection when Tyson was not around, because he didn't like being the kid with the "retarded" sibling? Sure, he realizes he was wrong in the end and goes back to being Tyson's number one defender, but it still happened and made him look like anything EXCEPT an ideal friend.
Did they not see him and Thalia, his friend/first cousin, lose their temper at each other so bad they started fighting for real? Did they not see how he had to use all of his strength not to give in when Ares was fucking with his emotions to provoque him into a fight he obviously could not fucking win?
And even the "your fatal flaw is being too loyal" thing - they did not see him literally holding up the whole sky for Annabeth or jumping into Tartarus to protect her, both things that could have killed him? Did they not see him questioning his own side in the war when Calypso asks him "Percy, are supporting the gods instead of the titans because you think they're good rulers, or because they're your family?"
For fuck's sake, what about the parallels with Luke, the character whose deal is being THE traitor? Both of them had a mom that had the ability to see the monsters and godly stuff most people can't see, both had a divine dad that loved them but was not present for most of their lives - including while they dealing with an abusive parent/step-parent - because the gods are like that, and both were VERY mad at said gods for this kind of thing?
It makes sense that Percy was the "loyal one" as a contrast, and the fact that he comes to see that Luke was not fully in the wrong because while bringing Kronos back WAS a terrible idea, the gods DID need someone to look them in the face and say "YOU SUCK", shows that he does need to be more careful with this loyalty thing because being loyal to the wrong person can have serious consequnces for him and others.
Honestly, this "take" strikes me as coming either from people who never read the books and want to trash it for stuff they got no context for, from those kinds of fans that want to out-smart the story by going "THE MAIN CHARACTER SUCKS, ACTUALLY, AND I AM OBJECTIVELY GREAT FOR NOTICING IT"

Summary: Your best friend returns after a long time and maybe the time you have been away made you realise a few things about your feelings towards him. Did it do the same for him?
Warnings: My first fanfic, NOT A BOOK READER, so events and misinformation could be a lot, Swearing
Pairings – Grover Underwood x reader, Annabeth x platonic!reader, Percy Jackson x platonic!reader
PART 1
“Did you know there’s a new kid in the camp? He killed a minotaur!” You heard a group of half-bloods loudly discuss this interesting news, way too loudly.
“Wait, is it- does he have a-” I looked at Annabeth hoping it was the kid who Grover went to protect. I haven’t spoken to Grover since he left, which was a few years ago. We both became close after Thalia, Luke, and Annabeth joined the camp. He told me about everything, he knew a lot. Listening to him talk about Pan and everything nature was my favorite activity to do. He would tell me about different creatures. He would tell me about herbs and their medicinal properties. Flowers and their meanings. Gods. And him. The last one was my favorite.
“yes he has a satyr protector, yes its Grover”
“Oh.” Grover. I had been waiting for him for so long, and now that I knew he was here I didn’t know what to do. What to say to him?
“are you not going to meet him? I thought you leave as soon as I said yes”
I laughed “I do want to meet him but he is probably tired, also he probably is going to show Percy around first”
“Percy?”
“it’s the new kid, Grover told me his name before he left.”
“Ah of course he did.”
“Do you think it could be him? I’ve seen you watching him.”
“Maybe.” Her gaze shifted to a boy standing near Chiron and Mr. D. I saw Grover run behind him. Grover. It was a little daunting to see him after this time. Like watching a movie, you loved as a kid, and were desperately hoping it was as good as it was before.
“You want to go to the woods? Or stalk him a little more?” Annabeth gave a death stare that shut me up. She was like a little sister to me. A dangerous one though.
I walked alone to the woods. There was a little canopy made by a few oak trees which I loved to sit beside. Grover helped me carve it to perfection and since his departure, it has been a space where I could feel at peace. Grover and I have been best friends, but it has almost felt like a breakup since he left. I’ve had my friends move away while I lived in the mortal world, and never see them again. This feels exactly like that. I just don’t want to feel like we are strangers, maybe this is why I’m running for him.
The bright sunlight peeks through the trees, and the wind rustles the leaves. It was a beautiful sight. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath soaking all of this in.
"Hey"
I didn't need to open my eyes to know who it was, I remember his voice well enough. "Grover. Hi."
"You still come here?" He sat down beside me.
"Of course I do, it's still my favorite place. People are so awfully loud in the camp." I looked at him, and I finally completed processing he was safe. For years I was worried something might happen to him.
"Percy killed a Minotaur."
"What?" I knew it. But I'd rather hear him tell me the whole story
"Yeah! he- I he killed a Minotaur. He lost his sword too mid-fight and he jumped on his back. Pulled off a horn on its head. I'm not even joking. I know this sounds like I'm making it up. The Ares Cabin does not believe he killed a Minotaur. Imagine telling them this story. Yeah, so he pulled off a horn, stabbed the monster, and killed it. Before that, he killed a Fury too. Like, this kid killed a Fury and a Minotaur in less than 24 hours." His eyes sparkled like they always did when he started rambling about something he enjoyed.
"Oh God, maybe this is the kid Annabeth has been waiting for. Did you keep the horn?"
"Of course I did, this doesn't happen very often now does it."
"No of course not which is why the whole camp found out about it two hours after you arrived."
"You knew about it?"
"That the kid killed a minotaur? yes, that he jumped on the monster's back and pulled off a horn and stabbed it to kill it? no"
We both looked at each other, Grover kept silent like he was hesitating to tell me something. "Tell me, Grover."
"What?"
"Whatever it is that you are thinking about."
"It's kind of deep and sad."
"Yeah, and I can only deal with rainbows and sunshine."
"Okay! So his mom, Minotaur got a hold of her and she disintegrated. You know, kind of like Furies do when they die. In no sense am I saying I have watched a mortal be killed by a Minotaur before? But it didn't seem....right. So I was thinking about it and maybe...."
"Hades."
"Yeah."
"Yeah you could be right, but it's a maybe. Just be careful whatever you do with this information." I looked at him, and I realized this was probably the first time I had looked at him since I realized I had fallen in love with him. "So you're not showing the kid around, that's like your favorite part."
"He doesn't want to see me."
"What? How's that possible, everyone loves you."
He laughed "I had to get him kicked out of the school, then his mom died cause i was getting him across."
"It was not your fault, and he will come around. If he doesn't then he is stupid."
He nodded "So what's up at camp. How's Annabeth? Luke?"
"Camp is the same, everyone's favorite part of the day is when Mr. D yells at someone. Chaos is everything. Annabeth is still on the watch for the kid that will go on the quest, which right now appears to be Percy. And Luke. Well, he found his glory, the best swordsman in camp."
"And you?"
"Me? I am spending my time switching between hobbies and talking to Annabeth. My uh siblings? I guess were helpful-"
"Siblings? Did you get claimed?"
"Oh yeah you left before that, ta-da i got claimed."
"WHAT? Who? No i want to guess! Uh- Athena?"
"Nope"
"Aphrodite?"
"Nope"
"Dionysus?"
"That was ONCE. GROVER. ONCE. I got drunk once and you are going to hold it over my head for eternity."
"But you drank a lot, A LOT. It took almost twice the amount of wine to get you drunk than what I saw Clarisse drink."
"Ugh Grover please don't- anyway back to-"
"ARTEMIS?"
"You really should stop guessing, I got claimed by Apollo"
"Wow, that makes sense."
"Your guesses were nowhere near it."
"How did you get claimed? And when?"
"She actually got claimed right here." Annabeth threw her arms around Grover.
"What? Really?" He looked from Annabeth to me.
"Actually not exactly here, but nearby. She saw it."
"She actually ran away from this spot so no one finds out about her quiet place. Well I came way too late, I saw the blinding light for half a second but she looked like she was made of gold."
"What were you doing to get claimed?"
"Nothing," Annabeth replied hastily.
"Nothing what do you mean nothing?"
"It's what she always says, she doesn't know what made Apollo claim her."
I have a fair idea of what might have made Apollo claim me, but it's far too embarrassing to even say it aloud. It was just a few months after Grover had left, and his absence had made me realize quite a few things. I realized I had fallen for him, and that maybe I might never see him again. Those few weeks were really hard on me. And Annabeth at that time was using her time to become a skillful warrior. This made me take a few skills and one of them involved guitar. It was an instrument I learned before camp and felt safe to pick up again. I would come out here every day and play a few tunes and leave I was far too scared that the children of Apollo the God of Music and Poetry might see. I felt insecure because of their talents and was content being my own audience. That day I had started humming along to a tune, unlike other days where I would stick to songs I had learned. I began to sing whatever came to mind, and as cheesy as it may sound it was Grover. I liked what I wrote and felt proud of it so I continued. As I developed further into the song, I was interrupted by Apollo who had claimed me. I immediately feared this would lure people into this quiet safe place so I bolted. I ditched my guitar behind a tree and made a run for it. People luckily only saw me quite a few miles away from the canopy. But I'm not gonna admit this to anyone. Everyone still thinks I have no capability except humming to songs very very quietly.

PJO TV Show Live Reactions Part 3
I'm out of Chocolate chip cookies, but I did have cereal and I'm ready for Medusa
Oh, and this is not spoiler free for the books and possible future TV show events
Oh the attic is creepy and the oracle is creepier I love it.
Ah Baby's first Quest and Oracle Visitation
Oh they didn't show the rest of the prophecy. Interesting? I'm not sure why exactly, I guess so we can find out later?
Oh he's actually choosing his companions. Oh he didn't wait for Annabeth that was cute.
Wait so Blackjack is just...at Camp? Does Luke steal him later?
Poor Grover on scooper duty. Of course Percy would choose him tho.
Oh! Ok there's the prophecy. He's worried about the friend betrayal. I don't if he thinks it will be Annabeth, since he had that little speech about trusting her to do what was needed to be done?
I love the Poseidon Cabin its so pretty! There's a water feature!
Oh. Hello. Luke
Oh I like the animation on the shows that's cute.
Oh. Yeah. I knew Percy was considering Luke. I'm so glad he chose Grover, who knows how that would have turned out. It...probably would be really bad actually.
Wait. Something I've never actually considered of before, can Grover talk to Thalia's spirit that's in the tree? Does the tree have a dryad? Don't all tree's have dryads? But Thalia's is a special tree. Huh.
Percy be nice! Before Annabeth smacks you lol, Thalia is a bit of a touchy subject, though I understand the comment of gods and saving Thalia.
Oh, we've cut out Argus?
Oh Annabeth is being difficult but it's kind of adorable. Grover...what are you doing? I mean, its adorable, but what?
Never split the party!
Hello old Mrs. Dodds. Annabeth, don't antagonize the fury
Oh, HoO foreshadowing?
Wait Percy, why bring the shoes in a box? Instead of wearing them or giving them to Grover?
"I didn't even know New Jersey had forests, but we found one!" Walker Scobell has somehow harvested the spirit of Percy Jackson, I fear he may be unstoppable
Pfft Oh Percy, you think you can just...call a goddess?
Grover the vegetarian is investigating someone cooking hamburgers on a Satyr path. Ok
Oh the statues actually look pretty cool
Hello again, Mrs Dodds
Oh, we've got her actually name now, cool. Hello Auntie Em. I'm really liking the actress already
Oh we aren't beating around the bush ok Hello Medusa
Ok, so far I'm loving this version of Medusa, but I wonder if we well get the meta commentary on how monsters take out grudges on the children of the gods, since she at least claims she won't do that to Annabeth. In this, did Annabeth get tormented by spiders
Annabeth, don't antagonize the gorgon
Medusa's story time! I'm glad they kept that she was a priestess for Athena, but they took out the screwing around in Athena's temple, or did I misunderstand that? Or maybe that's what Annabeth is talking about, calling her a liar? IDK there have been many versions of that story, including one that paints Poseidon in a very bad light and Athena in an even worse one so...
Oh, what are you offering Medusa? This is creepy and I love it
Creepy basement full of statues. Lovely
I'm not sure if I love or hate that Medusa is still beautiful in this instead of ugly
Oh the invisibility hat! That's smart!
Love that they used it against Alecto
But I'm still waiting for Percy to be Impertinent
Uncle Ferdinand! :(
Bury it in the basement? That's not impertinent. And would lose Annabeth her hat. Thank you Grover, they both need to hear this, I love Grover.
Ah, there it is. The betrayl line. It makes sense it would bother him during this quest.
Oh so Percy and Annabeth had monsters trying to turn them on eachother, is it Grover's turn? Will it be the Pink Poodle Gloriosa?
Ah. There's the impertinence. I love sending the head to Olympus, but I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about using that head against Gabe, he doesn't seem very abusive in this version, though abusers don't always go 100 % all the time so I guess we'll see
Percy is singing the song!!! These kids are too cute for this dangerous quest
Hermes! Oh are we going to see the delivery next episode? At least Hermes seems amused.
I like the ending song, and the credits still slaps

✨️ closed starter for @trckstaer ! ✨️
for the first time in her life, thalia had found peace. she hadn't been consciously aware of it, hadn't had a real emotion past the terror as a monster tore into her arm even as she speared it, the flood of relief as she saw luke push annabeth past what must have been the boundaries of the camp. and then there was nothing. and that was where the peace came in, the absolute nothingness of it all, the silence. It was something that she had never felt before, and she settled into it, unthinking and moving, allowing it all to wrap around her like a warm, fluffy blanket.
and then it had stopped.
coming back to life, so to speak, had been absolutely fucking terrifying. suddenly, she could feel the air in her lungs, hear the world around her through more than a haze, and most jarringly, annabeth had been there. but she wasn't annabeth, because she was big, and annabeth was small, and how did she look so close to thalia's age now? where was luke? the explanations were terrible, the realization that she had woken up only to be thrown into the middle of a war, and really, she could have cried, had her pride allowed her to. she hated being back, she wanted the quiet to come back. she didn't want the weight of a prophecy on her shoulders, she was just so fucking sick of it all.
she had waited for luke to reach out to her. she knew that he would, once he heard that she was back. he had to. how would he ever do something like this and not include her? and soon enough he had, and they had arranged to meet at one of their old hideouts, a little cave just a couple miles outside of camp. she would go alone, had no intentions of telling anyone in the camp, but it made her uncomfortable not to even mention it to annabeth. they would be able to sway her if it was the both of them, right? she hoped.
uncharacteristically, thalia was early, pushing past the vines and ducking through a dip to come into the open space. there wasn't much, a couple of makeshift beds and a couple cans of food left, but it hit her with a nostalgia so so strong that it hurt. she hadn't seen luke since she'd woken up, and she missed him so fucking much. she was a little nervous, not sure what he would look like, what he would say, how any of this would go. all she knew was… well, what he was saying wasn't wrong. and she missed him. and gods, fuck, if she was going to be thrown in the middle of all this, she needed him. fuck. she sat down, elbows in her knees and head in her hands, sighing and trying to push her worries away. this was luke, she was going to see, for fuck's sake. what could possibly go so wrong that she needed to be worrying like this?
