for anyone too young to know this: watching The Truman Show is a vastly different experience now, compared to how it was before youtube and social media influencers became normal
before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"
and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

soap as the god of of harvest and spring yes yes YESSS!! i personally hc him as an aries so him being the god of spring makes so much sense.
if he’s the god of spring i feel like he’d also be associated with fertility since that’s when plants start budding - which also tracks for him. he’s a burly, virile man. i feel like if you were sacrificed to him he’d breed you over and over again until he had at least a dozen kids running around his temple <3
He would💔
Soap's big and healthy and loud, loves to drink good wine and party with other gods after a good harvest! And yes I totally agree that he'd be often associated with fertility too, couples often praying to him for healthy offspring and a safe pregnancy :(
So it would only be natural for Johnny to have a pretty fertile wifey too :(( he loves babies and wants children so much!! Please let him breed you with little, chubby demigods :(
All your children would be strong and happy and healthy just like their father, the pitter patter of many tiny feet against the stone floors of his temple as they laugh and coo and toddle after they momma and papa as they continue to put up pretty flower arrangements around the temple for the upcoming spring festivities♡

It kinda kills me that we don't know what happened to the bodies after the Uchiha massacre. Like what did the village do with them? Danzo got his hands on some of the Uchiha to steal their eyes but like,, the clan was pretty big. They ran the entire police force themselves which would be at least like 100-150 personnel just in active duty; this plus their spouses, the Genin/Chuunin still in training, civilians that ran the shops in the district, retired workers/Shinobi, the elderly, and the children,,, there would've been hundreds of corpses to deal with. If they all died the same night and Sasuke was their only next of kin but also a 7 year old child who was hospitalised while the compound was cleared out,, who got to decide what happened to the bodies? Did the council just get to do whatever they wanted with the clan's remains? You know, the council that planned the massacre?
The Uchiha had their own religion and they would have had funeral rights for their dead so,,, did they get those rights? We never see Sasuke at any sort of memorial or grave for his family, and for someone who clearly loves their clan a lot, Sasuke would take care of their resting place if they had one. It's just so upsetting that after slaughtering the Uchiha so the village wouldn't have to take accountability for you know,,, treating them like absolute shit, no one in Konoha even cares enough to give them the bare minimum respect in death. They what? Just let Danzo take the ones he wanted so he could harvest their eyes and just dumped the rest of the Uchiha in an unmarked mass grave somewhere? The whole village had a state-wide memorial when the Kyuubi attack happened and the same later on when Orochimaru invaded but they couldn't even bother with some sort of funeral service after the genocide of one of their own clans? The genocide that they ordered themselves?? Like it's just so fucking insulting.

[image description: A flame-maned black goat with huge curved horns and glowing golden eyes rears up against a fiery apocalyptic background. Text reads, “167, Yul Byrner ~ the small god of harvest sacrifice”]

They weave his earthly incarnations out of sticks and straw, erecting them as monuments to the harvest, as bulwarks against the closing cold. They build him because they can, because they are compelled to do so, because they remember, on some deep and binding level, that it’s the sticks and straw and tinder or it’s beans in the bread and blood on the snow.
Sometimes it is both. We still require our temporary kings if we want the sun to remember how to rise. Some rituals are old even before they begin; some patterns must repeat, over and over, until time itself unwinds into dust and shadow.
So they weave him, year on year, and they stand him in the city square, and they set guards against the inevitable. Look at him, they argue, look at his greatness, look at his glory. Look at the way he stands, golden against the winter sky. Surely we owe him our protection. Surely he should be preserved. Surely that will keep us from the cold.
They forget to consult with the divine. They forget to ask the god they tend with such devotion what he wants.
The god wants to burn.
Spring is not only the turning of the year; it is the restoration of hope, the dawning of a new chance to be better than we have been, and hope is bought with sacrifice. With blood on the snow, or fire in the straw. He wants better for us, he wants us to burn brightly, and so he yearns for the flame. When released from his temporary embodiments, he carries the darkness and debris of the dying year out of the world with him, and leaves us renewed, restored, ready to be more than we have been.
Weave him well, thank him for his service, and allow him to burn.
That is how we worship. That is how we serve.
That is how we bring back the sun.
