fandom: austin butler | elvis ( 2022 ) rating: g, t if you really squint. pairing: austin butler x gender neutral reader word count: 802 warnings: austin being sad post oscars. talk about the oscars. talk about the whale. author’s note: thank you anon and you were right i did have a few more hours when you sent this to me and was hoping someone would allow me the chance to do a hurt and comfort with this. full disclosure to everyone, i said it once before, if austin was going to lose to anyone, i did want it to be brendan because i was iffy on colin. however, i despise of the whale as a movie- and truly wish brendan had won for literally anything else. so do not take anything i have austin say as my own opinion on the movie itself. i hate it. this is for my 1k gala with the angst prompt of “no, i’m actually not ok.” and saints preserve me i'll live in my universe where i made this boy drunkenly say to his girl some nasty sexy things post oscar. also i'm not the biggest fan of this but i can't tell if that's purely because i'm in my own head about it or not. still hope you enjoy. also i didn't mess up my word count for the third time in all my gala pieces, what are you talking about.

It's an honor to be nominated. It's an honor to be put in the same league as actors who've been in the business for decades. It's an honor to be nominated along someone who's going to grow with him in their crafts. If he was going to lose to anyone everyone had said it was going to be him or Brendan and damn if he didn't think the man deserved it. The Whale was tough to watch but it was good- it was the sort of thing that earned an actor their Oscar. He shouldn't be- He shouldn't be feeling the way he does. Bill didn't get a single award all season and Colin went from a frontrunner with him to the afterthought along with Paul.

He can't even talk about this with Barry because it was always Ke's one to lose and he wasn't going to. Maybe Angela- but hadn't hers been wrapped in the grief from losing Chadwick. He still can't believe he heard Samuel L Jackson make a noise for him of all people behind him. He should be happy, this is the start of him finally making a difference. Making his fans proud and happy for him like Elvis. Making his mom proud that all her work wasn't for nothing. Making Lisa and Priscilla proud wasn't for nothing but why does he feel as if it was in this moment. Why is his brain just telling him this is how it starts? He'll have this whirlwind of three years and then three projects back to back to back only to have nothing afterward. Angela feels him tense a little- she must have because she looks at him and squeezes his hand once again before nodding over to you.

You- you can help ease his mind, once you're in the car he'll talk to you, whisper in your ear how this was not how he thought this night would go. His eyes meet yours and you smile gently before shrugging a little. He watches your lips mouth "love you" before he focuses on the last of the awards. It's a bit of organized chaos leaving the theater and it almost seems as if there's just an Elvis line of people walking around hand in hand like a bunch of kindergarteners before Austin and you finally get into a car and you squeeze his hand. "You okay?"

If it was anyone else, if it was Baz or Liv or Catherine or Kelvin or Luke- if it was anyone he'd lie. But you deserve the truth in a way that very few people do in this circumstance. "No, I'm actually not. I- I don't even know what I'm feeling. I'm mad but I shouldn't. I was nominated for an Oscar. I used to dream about this. I almost won an Oscar!"

"You have a Golden Globe! And a BAFTA!" You remind him, your voice matching his in volume before your hand moves to cup his cheek. There's a wet bit that you brush away with your thumb. "You're allowed to feel something, Austin. It doesn't make you a bad person or take away from Brendan's win because I know you, I know we're going to go the party and you're gonna see him and he's gonna give you a big dad hug and you're gonna gush. And you're gonna bounce up and down with Ke and make sure Baz doesn't drink too much because Catherine asked you too."

The laugh that bubbles up from him is wet sounding, covered in unshed tears as he sniffles. "Forgot how I'm gonna tell Luke about Polly making me do some moves for party tricks. And how Kelvin is going to remind me to-"

"Chill out?" You finish like that's actually what Austin was going to say before he shakes his head, allowing himself to just rest his head in your hand.

"Something like that. I just thought- I let my hopes get up." Austin whispers and you frown.

"No one blames you for that, you know. I don't. Tell you what. When we get to the party, how about we just sit in the car for a little bit until you calm down. And then when we get there, we just relax. Just for a little bit until you stop hurting so much. I'll shoo away the cameras with my charm." Austin raises an eyebrow knowing that isn't always how things go with you and him.

"Yeah? No fighting that'll get us both in trouble?"

"Pinky swear." You hold out your pinky as you move to kiss Austin. "Now, how about we focus on our plans for after tonight. I believe someone promised me a vacation?"

Austin's answer is a hum before he gives you another kiss. "How do you feel about the mountains?"

2022 Candy Year In Review

As a way to cap off the year, I thought it would be nice to go over all the LLD candy from 2022! There were a ton of little ones (read: kadians, matching clothing, possible hickies, sunset photos, etc.), so this will just be focusing on the larger notable ones. They’re all dated and in chronological order, because I’m me.

Remember to take these with a grain of salt. Enjoy~

January 23rd → Gong Jun’s studio Weibo posted his 2021 year in review video, completely leaving out August despite him having had two livestreams, a song release, and a reality show air during that month.

January 29th → Gong Jun posted a commercial for KFC to his Douyin where he rips dates off a calender that has 1 and 5 missing. (No one talks about this one but it’s one of my favourites. 🥺💕)

February 14th → Gong Jun posted a commercial to his Weibo at 11:29, then posted two photos of himself to Weibo at 13:14 (kadian for “forever”), then posted the same to his Instagram at 13:15, using the kadians to make the sequence “Gong Jun forever Zhang Zhehan”. The photos had been taken at Xiao Yu Hill in Qingdao at almost the exact location that Zhehan had taken photos at in 2018.

His Weibo post had the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day [11 husky emojis]”, the same caption he had used in 2021. Some people noted that “Zhang Zhehan” is eleven letters long, and interpreted the use of the same caption as a way of saying that nothing has changed.

March 5 → Gong Jun posted a vlog with Nancy Mulligan by Ed Sheeran as one of the BGM, a song about a couple eloping during the Northern Ireland conflict. Fans found that one of the top comments on the song on Netease is “When China allows homosexuals to get married, I will play this song at our wedding,” and the song has widely been adopted by the gay community for its message of marrying and growing old together despite societal rules.

April 26th → (Purely rumor, take with a full spoon of salt.) Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan were supposedly seen together at the entrance to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Beijing. Reportedly they saw someone take photos and Zhehan stepped forward to pay the person off, only for Gong Jun to stop him and say to the photographer, “Do whatever you want.” The following day was Zhehan’s lunar birthday.

May 6th → (Instagram cw) Guo Yunfei, the casting director and actor of Duan Pengju from Word of Honor, posted a photo of himself making the LLD handsign with the caption, “I hope the ‘waves’ (浪花, langhua) like it. I know what happened recently, but what can I say or do? … I hope everyone can be sincere and kind, have a safe future, and live up to your friendship.” This was the day after the Instagram was deactivated.

May 11th → Zhehan’s birthday. The post count on Gong Jun’s Weibo went up by two despite nothing new appearing, indicating that he had posted privately.

May 17th → (Again, purely rumor.) Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan were supposedly seen together near Liangma Bridge in Beijing’s Chaoyang district. According to this one, Gong Jun asked the fans who photographed them to delete the photos and they willingly complied.

May 20th → Kangshifu released a mini-movie for 520 starring Gong Jun and an actress who looked strikingly like Zhang Zhehan, including a scene where she wore an outfit almost identical to one Zhehan wore during his 2021 birthday concert. The film included drawn illustrations of the two lead characters, one of which was found to have been directly traced from a photo of Zhehan from the Word of Honor concert. One of the lines included on the teasers leading up to the release was “I didn’t hide you away properly. It’s apparent in every drawing of mine.”

May 23rd → Gong Jun posted photos from a photoshoot for L’Officiel magazine to his Weibo—completely innocuous until people discovered that the caption, “✈✈✈～​​ ”, auto-translated to “对对～​​ 我爱你～ ​​ (Yes yes~ I love you~)” in the international app. This was later confirmed to have been an intentional Easter egg. Interpret it as you will~

June 9th → Gong Jun posted cooking photos from when he had been visiting his family during the previous month. It was noticed that there was one more set of chopsticks than there should have been if it was only his family. As well, it can be seen that Gong Jun was cooking the cilantro separately from the rest of the dish—Zhehan is known to not like cilantro. June 9th is May 11th on the lunar calendar.

(There were so many little things throughout May and June, you could tell Gong Jun was giving Xie and co. the middle finger. A thread I made of all the ones I’m aware of can be found [here].)

August 1st → (slight knives in this one) BEAST posted an article to their WeChat about their Qixi product line, in which they included the lines “Remembering that we couldn’t spend the previous Qixi together as we were at different places I even secretly childishly cried, and was angry at him. He promised that he’ll give me a surprise next Qixi.” and “Love is separated by the mountains and seas / The mountains and seas can be flattened”. The latter was written on a banner Zhehan had recieved from a fan during the Word of Honor concert; Qixi 2021 was August 14th.

September 5th → VogueFilm released an interview Gong Jun had done with them where he talked about his morning routine, wherein he said, “If you have a problem with your knees, don’t do running, cycling, etc. Even though they seem easy, if you don’t master the technique well, it will actually affect your knees” Photos of his food included a jianbing, which a few weeks earlier he had said his “ahyi” made for him, as well as eggs prepared in a way unique to Jiangxi.

October 14th to 20th → Gong Jun stopped having an umbrella shield him from photographers while going to work and took full advantage of it by wearing clothing associated with Zhehan for the next several days. Details can be found in my post for that week, look for the 🍬 emojis.

November 2nd → During a livestream for Hsu Fu Chi, Gong Jun mentioned multiple of his other endorsements and at one point walked off set to grab his LockNLock thermos, which he then drank from on camera for exactly five seconds while the host was made to wait. On the same day, his studio posted a douyin with the song 隆里电丝 by 盛宇DamnShine, which includes the lines “Some people will become your friends / or your zhiji / Some people will fight with you to the end / as long as you're happy (开心就好)”

November 17th → A photo from 2021 that Gong Jun’s studio posted as part of his time train series included a blurred out red and blue smear that was possibly a photo from the Word of Honor concert being used as his phone’s wallpaper.

November 28th → Gong Jun posted a photo of a handwritten note saying that he wouldn’t be doing a birthday livestream the following day. Something that was possibly his hexagon ring appears to have been deliberately placed behind a glass of water in the photo.

December 17th → Gong Jun posted travel photos from Yunnan, which included two photos of a figure from behind wearing a hoodie that completely covers his head. There is debate over whether this person was really Gong Jun, especially as the shoulders seem to match Zhang Zhehan’s stature.

NEW YEAR’S POSITIVITY TAG

The gist of this tag game that I just made is to spread some positivity/love to fellow writeblrs! How long do you have your nipples done? How was your experience with pain, healing and sensation in general.

i got them in april 2022.

did they hurt? fuck yeah they did, a lot. my pain tolerance with needles (tattoos/piercings) is THE WORST so that could totally be a factor, but i'm certain that if you ask anyone about their nipple piercings they'll probably tell you the same. they hurt A LOT but!!!!!!

but!!!!! the actual process of the needle going through the nipple lasts for...a minute and a half each one. not even kidding. they hurt and they hurt BAD but it's incredibly fast. if you're in good hands (like i was) then trust me, it's done in no time.

healing process mmm 🧐 the jewelry i got was titanium (i still have titanium btw but slightly larger), it's THE best material you could probably choose for any piercing, it makes the healing process way shorter and it's widely tolerated by...almost every body, even the most sensitive and/or allergic one.

i was told by my piercer that i couldn't sleep on my stomach for AT LEAST a month, which was torture lmao but they healed super fast (everything i've gotten whether that was tattoos or piercings has always healed in just a few days 😌)

by the next day my nipples were no longer IN PAIN but they were sore and i could feel the material of my clothes which was weird. i haven't worn bras in years, and the weight of my boobs did not affect the pain of the piercings at all.

i've always had super sensitive nipples and that hasn't changed, if anything i think they're more sensitive now. which i don't always love tbh. they're tender and i try not to be too rough with them because it hurts and not in a pleasurable way 🥴

all in all i'm SO HAPPY with them, i hated the way my tits looked before, but ever since i got my nips pierced i've been in love with them. they're so pretty and hot and cool and i love showing them to everyone 🥺

p.s. they never really stop HEALING. which i've learned to accept but it sucks sometimes. and i thought it was my body at first but i saw other people complain about the same soooo yeah, i gotta live with it. they crust often or randomly bleed, but it's fine i'm used to curating them for a few days when that happens lol

Hey besties ✨🥹

Long time no post… what I thought was a week long break turned into almost a month? 👀 but lord knows it was needed. I hope everyone is doing well in these crazy times 🫶🏾 I can’t wait to update y’all on the good and the not so great 😅💕

As for the productivity element of this post.. let’s get to it!

So we start the day with 10am physics! And per usual I’m late 😅 that didn’t stop me from getting any work done though! I used to have a partner but I’m working alone now and it’s fun, I can move at my own pace and ask all the questions I need 😊

After physics I got lunch with my friends and hung out for a bit. Then I took a long and we’ll deserved nap.. so long that I forgot about my second class 🙂

With that behind me, I made dinner and vibed out until 8:30.. then I went to play volleyball! Which was hella fun y’all 10/10 would recommend 😌

Now I’m just chillin, gonna shower and get some sleep 😴. Words can’t describe how happy I am to start posting again, I missed my tumblr besties 🥺. Night y’all, stay tuned for the next post 🤎🤎🤎

My entry for Maycury Week 2022 organised by @rhyewritersstudio , featuring Witch Freddie and Vampire Brian from my Witches×Monsters AU 💕

"If we can find a place we actually belong, where we're at peace, who's to deny us?"

I really wanted to make something new with my Witches×Monsters AU (that you can read here!) and I thought this was a perfect occasion to explore Brian and Freddie's bond in this story. If you thought I forgot about this AU you're wrong, and I hope to be able to create more content for it soon 🥺💕 I loved drawing this and I'm incredibly happy with the result!

I wrote a lil drabble under the cut, nothing new if you know this AU but I feel it's a nice extra 🥰 It’s set when the boys are already at the Witches’ cottage, a safe place where all of them can be themselves and practice magic without Hunters around, but Brian still needs a boost to his confidence and some reassuring words.

Brian had just woken up, the Sun almost setting on the horizon before leaving space to the Moon and the darkness she carried with her. It was a bit early for him, but Chrissie was already cooking and the broth’s scent filled Brian's nostrils, though it wasn't enough to lighten his mood.

He sat on a bench in the garden, admiring the setting Sun, and missing the real warmth of the day. It was another gloomy moment for him, his still heart constantly aching for being a Vampire, a curse imposed on him against his will.

When he walked out the cottage as well, Freddie noticed Brian's dark face and sat next to him. For the past few years he blamed himself for Mary's attack against Brian, her choice of turning him into a vampire and not Freddie; she was Freddie's friend, but that was a betrayal and he put a hex on her to keep her afar, and yet he still felt it was his fault if Brian was now cursed. But it wasn't the only reason for his care about Brian, his friendship was genuine since when Bri was still a human.

"Hey, Bri."

Brian's red eyes glowed in the sunset, warm and kind despite the color, and Freddie smiled.

"Freddie." He nodded, his curls bouncing. "Sorry, it seems today I'm missing the Sun and the brightness of the daylight."

"You know you don't have to excuse yourself with me, darling." Freddie nudged his arm and Bri gave him a sheepish smile, his pointy canines poking out his lips. "What else is troubling you?"

"I... I don't know, I feel getting blood from Chrissie as well is unfair, she and the other girls are sheltering us and I'd want to help instead of making her weaker." He murmured, aware that he needed blood to survive and that Freddie and Chrissie were offering their blood to drink every once in a while, when the animal prey caught by the Werewolves weren’t enough.

Freddie shook his head, acknowledging Brian’s troubles. "I saw her, she's doing well! But... if you want to help, just go inside and give her a hand with the dinner!" He suggested. More than often Brian needed a distraction to his own thoughts, let it be music, astronomy, or -more recently- Chrissie herself.

"Freddie?" The Vampire stretched his skinny arms.

"Yes?"

"Do you think I'll be useful to the group one day? John and Roger are skilled and powerful Werewolves, you and the girls are amazing Witches... and I'm just a sad Vampire." He moped, earning a patient eye roll from Freddie, framed by a thick line of kohl. 

"You're not just a sad Vampire, Brian!" The Witch placed a friendly hand on his back in a soothing gesture. "You're our friend and I love you no matter what!"

Freddie inflated his hairy chest, doing everything he could to boost his best friend’s confidence, being earnest about his feelings and just letting him know that he was there, as always, a steady point in their lives. 

"You're intelligent and have a heart of gold, Brian, and I'm sure one day you'll be able to master all your Vampire powers and turn your sorrow into art, as we all do. And it'll be brighter than everyone's, I tell you!" He gave Brian a huge bright smile, showing his teeth he was usually so shy about, and a small light started glowing in Brian’s still heart.

"Do you really believe it, Freddie?"

"Absolutely. Look into my eyes, Bri. You can do anything! And if you have any doubt or fear... we're all here for you."

Drama: Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow (2022-2023)

Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Action, Historical

My Rating: 9/10

The Good:

Heartachingly beautiful love story

Watching Jang Uk's smile that left his eyes and he's no longer the cheeky boy in S1, breaks my heart. Meanwhile, Cho Yeong has no idea of her past. They're so cute together. I am so grateful for all the parallels with s1 to make me go awww 🥺. Light and Shadow perfectly depicts them <3

Chemistry between characters

Love each characters' dynamic with one another. They're so endearing and funny. I love Cho Yeong & Jang Uk but best dynamic? Go Won & Jang Uk!

Good Acting

Everyone was superb in their roles. Yes, no one could ever be the same as Jung So Min. However, Go Yoon Jung did really well to portray the Jin Bu Yeon who did not have the trauma Naksu has.

Action scenes & special effects 💥

Emotional scenes 😭

The feels from S1 were deepen in this season as I was already attached to the characters. Without watching S1, this season would not be as meaningful. So, prepare to cry.

Funny 🤣

Awesome OSTs

I love that the OSTs are POV's of characters with the lyrics which really enhances scenes.

Satisfying ending

I just wanted a happy ending after the last season and I was relieved they gave us that. The

I want more

I wanted to see Naksu & Jang Uk to fight together, more of Danggu and Cho Yeon, maybe for the turtle to come back, etc.

Overall, I'm glad that this season was a good closure. Almost perfect and a well written drama. I love this series so much.

Last night, my Queen of the Night bloomed〜＼(^o^)／This is how she looked during the day. Just about to burst into blooming. This time, 3 blossoms came out at the same time✨🌼🌼🌼✨ I'm super happy about that because it's been a long time since my plant has bloomed 🥰Surprisingly, the scent was pretty strong yesterday 😳I wonder why? It felt more overwhelming than usual, the scent spread throughout the entire house😳 I wonder if it's because three buds started blooming at the same time 🤔 But that’s something that has happened before so I am not sure why the scent was this strong...🤔Maybe I just forgot about the strong smell🥺 The mystery deepens...

Well, the other day, we finally got to announce my "Wakana Classics 2022 ~Christmas Special~"!! ️\\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// This is gonna be my third time ending the year with a concert at Kioi Hall🥰✨I am so grateful that I have been able to hold this sort of concert for three years in a row ever since 2020. Back then during, the world had changed completely and it made me almost desperate to share my music with you. However, there were many moments when I despaired at how little I could do, I was confronted with so many of my weaknesses and inadequacies. Those days were filled with a lot of self-reflection and I felt like I was a huge burden to everyone...(TдT)←To be honest, I still feel this way...Even so, everyone came to see and provided warm support, I was truly grateful. It once again made me realise that live concert can only exist with the help of many people coming together. In that way, I feel Kioi Hall is filled with lots of precious memories.

Now this year will be my third time at the venue, my concert will be held on December 25th, Christmas Day! ️🦌🎅✨I'm sorry for picking such a festive date, hopefully I am not interfering too much with your schedule for this once-in-a-year special occasion😂😂I would be more than happy to spend such a wonderful day with you, so please be sure to come!! This time, we are also offering a special ticket 🥰It includes a present 🎁 and some as-of-yet unspecified fun after-live-activitiy. I'm so excited! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))♡ What should we do!? It’s Fay time! Fay is not only an amazing writer but one of the kindest souls in the community, always supportive and engaged. I was really touched to receive a special treat from her on Liv Day, this scorching Pansmione micro that everyone should check ASAP. I actually got familiar with her work through these lovely micros, especially the wlw treats, then Almost Like Home left me breathless with epic Drarry aching and soon enough I was checking her works every time I needed some comfort food. That doesn’t mean they’re all fluffy, mind you! In fact, Fay is quite skilled at exploring some delicious bittersweet angst in short form. But somehow I find them all a gentle and warm as a cozy blanket. They’re also the perfect bite size reads to indulge after a long, stressful day as a way to treat yourself. I’m focusing on short fics hoping to give them some extra love, but let’s not forget to mention the excellent The Way We Wind aka the fic that made us all want to start knitting 🧶 a classic comfort fic that I highly recommend if you’re looking for something longer! Between the Houses (2021, E, 12k) - this made me immediately buy a ship I’ve never even thought of before! Lovely Dean/Charlie get together + established relationship, I adore their chemistry, Charlie’s sweetness and the life they build together in Romania. Now that’s a rare pair treat!

Yesterday suddenly my little dwarf hamster fell ill. He sneaks around very slowly with his little eyes half-way closed and he eats and drinks almost nothing anymore. This came so out of the blue. He's just a tiny bit over a year old now. The life expectancy for dwarf hammies is about two years. I thought we got more time together... It's hard to see him like this, like it always does with every little hamster friend I've had before too, but he sleeps most of the time, he even falls asleep while eating a bit. And he sleeps peacefully and calm, he doesn't make any sounds of discomfort. So I hope he's just taking more well deserved rests now. Consulting a doctor would be far too stressful for such a tiny animal like him and in his state as it is now. So I just try to get it as comfortable as possible for him. Sleep my dear Bobby. Sleep. And I hope it will be painless for you in the end.🥺😢😞

And of course this has to happen in a time, where my sister has to fight down her only recently discovered cancer desease... wtf... Can it please STOP already? All of that pain? I don't want it anymore. My own health is a huge construction site either, which makes nothing better...

first creation was supersweet ; felix bc i didn’t write anything in jan iirc lol and i’ll count the latest thing for 2022 meaning it would be this is enough ; hyunjin which is nice bc it means i started and ended my year with a skz piece. ^^

one of your favorite creations:

every story ; heeseung may be my favorite thing i wrote this past year. it was truly such a treat to work on, and i enjoyed the entire process of writing it. >w< i like to go back and reread it every now and then bc it’s truly so special to me. it’s even better if you listen to the songs i recommended with it. like i love picking songs for my fics but the songs i picked for this one were almost too perfect. 😩 anyways i love this one so much and it’ll always be special to me.

a creation you’re really proud of:

the love operation ; sunghoon i really had fun writing this one. i’m such a sucker for fake dating!aus and it was really fun to write in the end. i’m super proud of how it turned out and honestly i can’t wait to write another fic for pengy bc it was just too fun haha

a creation that took you forever:

steal my heart ; yeonjun when i tell you i love this fic but it took me like 24794712047 revisions to finish it LMAOOO i was just so unsatisfied for a long while, the fic wasn’t even initially for yeonjun actually that’s how much it changed and developed. then finally it turned out how i wanted and i was soooo happy xD

again, steal my heart ; yeonjun (almost 1.2k 🥺🥺🥺) i’m honestly so thankful because it’s also the fic i have overall with the most notes as well! there has been so much love for this fic and i really can’t thank everyone enough, truly it makes me so happy to see. <333333

a creation that you think deserves more notes:

gold and silver pt.2 ; bang chan this didn’t get nearly enough attention LOL 😂 i’m not really all that bothered by it in the end but that shit was a lot to work on so i would love if this series got more recogniztion even in spite of it being on hiatus. i have every intention of continuing but overall it stopped being fun to write it so i wanted to stop before i got burnt out to the point of no return. i think both parts deserve more notes and feedback honestly.

i started writing for enhypen and txt in 2022 (i wrote more for enhypen tho), and i even wrote something for san bc i was tinkering with writing for some of ateez too. i’m really happy i tried new things and went out of my comfort zone. as for the fics for each one i think the ones above are nice recs tbh

a creation you made that breaks your heart:

i wrote some really painful angst in 2022 ngl, but i dare not speak ; heeseung was the cherry on top for me. i’d never written horror before, and on top of that it was angst too, honestly i patted myself on the back bc i usually don’t like to write angst that’s really sad, but i did it.

a “simple” creation you really love:

i think i could pick some stuff from my song title drabble party tbh i loved writing those requests, they were so fun. so i’d pick wasted nights ; hyunjin, sunkissed ; felix, 11:11 ; jeongin those were def my favorites

a creation that was inspired by another one:

oh i think i’ll pick every story ; heeseung again because it was specifically an au of an anime. the anime being violet evergarden. it was so fun to try and write it like it was an episode of the anime, because it’s very slice of life and takes you into the lives of different people. it was a lot of fun as i mentioned previously ^^

a favorite creation created by someone else:

ooh there’s honestly too many no doubt tbh LOL but also if there’s one that comes to mind immediately it’s for reasons wretched and divine ; bang chan by @/noramoons that fic changed me as a person in multiple ways to the point i felt like i had ascended to higher plane. i also enjoyed the relevé series ; yugyeom by @aura-mp3 i hadn’t read much got7 stuff at the time and this was just such a beautiful and unique story to me. i thoroughly enjoyed it and i actually wanna go and reread it very soon!! ^^ there’s a lot more that i read in 2022 tbh and i wasn’t always actively reading (and unfortunately some deactivated as well) but i enjoyed a lot of the content i was able to read. i’m truly grateful to the writers on this site.

The rains caught up with them at last, and any hope that it might ease the sweltering heat was thoroughly dashed – the air was so thick with humidity, it was worse than the mists back in Yi City, thick and heavy and hot.

And yet, despite the discomfort of damp, clinging robes and the relentless heat... there was a comfortable familiarity, a sense of peace to simply walking.

“I have been thinking, lately, about the flow of water,” Xiao Xingchen mused out loud, unthinkingly letting a nudge from Xue Yang's elbow steer him around yet some other puddle or muddy patch. “And I've realized that by setting my heart so firmly on what we hoped to achieve in Jinlintai, making it the one goal above all others... I blinded myself to the greater truth of what it is I – we - actually hope to do.”

“Of course,” Xue Yang amiably agreed, and he really should have seen the bad joke coming, he should have, “you are blind, Daozhang.”

Can't help but oblige and ask about your hc for the origins of Song Lan's mysophobia👀

I know I outright encouraged the question, but wow. 😂

So this was a headcanon I picked up for Heaven Has A Road after actually writing the events that partially gave rise to it.

When I was on vacation a couple of months back, I found myself without hand sanitizer after visiting a store, and after the last two years of pandemic and the super-strict regulations at that particular location, being unable to sanitize my hands for those few minutes before I got back to the hotel really made my skin crawl. Like there were potential pathogens all over them, to the point I could almost feel it.

And so logically, I thought to myself "Wow, this must be how Song Lan feels at all times."

And then my next thought was "Huh, and he was the one who immediately picked up on the abandoned zombie village having been devastated by a plague..."

So, a Song Lan who knows to spot the aftermath of a plague, a Song Lan obsessed with staying clean, avoiding closeness and touch... A Song Lan raised by a temple, because he had no family of his own...

Maybe the first plague he saw was his home village. Maybe toddler Song Lan was told by terrified relatives not to approach strangers, not to touch, wash your hands, keep clean - or the sickness will get you, will get us all...

And then it did.

Maybe Song Lan was taken in by Baixue because everyone else was gone. Dead. Their bodies twisted and swollen and festering, ruined and tainted by sickness. Uncleanness. And if you touch, if you get dirty, if you don't stay clean... It will get you too. Get you, and all those you care about.

He was too young to consciously remember any of it. In his mind, there's nothing before Baixue.

But after that, he never stopped compulsively washing his hands.

And he still can't make himself touch.

No demanding he surrender. No using the spirit-trapping rope he carries in his sleeve to restrain him. No hesitation, no quarter.

In that moment, beautiful Bright Moon Xiao Xingchen was 100% down for ice cold murder, and you can’t tell me Xue Yang didn’t fall in love then and there. ♥
