rolls up in here with my own thoughts that you didn't ask for my darling anon, but marina tagged me and i gotta offer my own commentary. so i have to second pretty much all of what she said and yes we do enjoy saying give me a reason for the horny partially because both our brains are secretly romantics are heart despite being logical as hell but in my case i absolutely love seeing how people tick from a psychological standpoint. shout out to my psych degree, y'all.

that being said, if you want to go for plot, you know what's fun, slow burns with eventual payoffs. ( to be honest, my both marina and my own darling mutual and friend @blurredcolour does them wonderfully no matter the fandom, i'm afraid. ) does that payoff have to be smut? god no, it could be a kiss and a fade to black. you know what's also fun? a plot that does what you want it to. whatever it is you want it to. if you want to explore the intricacies of differing family dynamics or the growth of a person from point a to point b? that's also fun. that's the fun thing about writing with a plotty plot.

for smut? there isn't anything wrong with no reason just horny smut, it's not necessarily what gets my motor going 97 percent of the time but the world needs it too. but if you do want to add that sliver of plot. that tiny bit? it doesn't even need to be a whole drawn out thing in it. is it reunion smut? your plot/reasoning is simply done and explained in merely mentioning that the pair missed one another. perhaps describing how they've almost forgotten how the other feels. nothing too fancy just a little whisper of something that lets the reader imagine what they will.

this was a little rambling and while i wasn't asked i do also hope mine helped as well. and good luck in writing, my dear.

as one of my biggest writing inspirations, i humbly ask for your opinion on an austin fic im writing: do you think it should mainly be smut or should i go for more of a plot?

Oh babe I’m so honored, happy that I can inspire anyone even a tiny bit, I’ve been so inspired, encouraged and stretched on here by all of y’all I will be forever grateful for it.

To answer this I’d say with some caution that you should do whatever is more inspiring to you. Write what you need, is damn good advice from one of my professors. My own personal taste always desires a bit of plot, even if it’s just references to a past I don’t get to know about but that establishes a dynamic between lovers. As my sweet and talented mutual @avengen and I like to say: give me the reason for the horny. Even if the fic is mainly all horny, give me the why. Why are they horny beyond basic science that suggests coming within five feet of Austin Butler causes women’s menstrual cycles to immediately dial up to ovulation. 😆 So, if smut, go for a bit of plot that will give reason even if it’s interspersed in the love scene. If plot is more inspiring to you then go with that! I feel like sometimes there’s not enough emphasis on the passionate connections that can be portrayed without any sexual subtext, and that can be discouraging for people who would rather not write smut but think it won’t be as popular or as passionate without it.

Just my random thoughts. Hope some of these help. 💋

you come right here anon and let me love you. all seriousness though, i'm flattered beyond belief that you do because- and i've had this discussion with quite a few of my writing mutuals- multiple times where i've commented that sometimes my smut can feel a bit disjointed at times? and you are your own worst critic, but to hear someone say that they love how i write it brings a warmth to my soul. as does the fact that you're happy i'm going to be finishing my smut summer stuff since i've been- uh mildly scared to fully come back because of how much of an adventure trying to finish it has been. and because i worry everyone has moved on sometimes.❤️

though i will say anon, darling anon, you should see me before i post some of my stuff. you'd have thought i was a blushing virgin princess with how i just click post and run. you never get over it- age doesn't even help.

so anon, it's not that i don't necessarily want to- but i'm at a bit of a catch 22 when it comes to austin in general. i kind of had a bit of a falling out when it came to writing him ( i'll readily admit that the pieces i wrote for smut summer- which yes- as whichever higher power you believe in as my witness i'm finishing- were a struggle for me to finish because of it ). and like in general life's been hard for me to write things- even the ones i am brimming with ideas and words for. that being said, i won't say no, but i'll be frank with you, you're probably gonna be stuck waiting till bikeriders comes out for juices for that particular au to come back to me.

ME AT YOU. but in answer to your question. i...do. i do. i just never posted it because, at least for january all it consists of is spark and the sarge and lil mama second gen piece. i've got a lot of things started and all that jazz but those two? those two are the things i'm trying to get out to make up for my abysmal posting/accidental hiatus. ( that and honestly that second gen piece ignited something in my soul and lord help me it nearly made me think writing something purely original isn't as far fetched for me as it used to be, and it's over 13k so...oopsies. ) february though, now if all goes well that gets it's own proper post.

oh anon. so technically that title is perhaps a misnomer for that doc since it's sort of a queen charlotte and bridgerton fic. since it's specifically having to do with charlotte and george because i'm nothing if not predictable in my desire to explore things in fic that have me using my psych knowledge among other things. @precious-little-scoundrel is a little to blame for this one, and if it ever leaves my docs surprise!! i'm terrified to actually post any details but if anyone wants to know i'll tell them. maybe it'll actually make me less scared to fully write it and post lol
