GREEN MILK | #003 | crawling over the finish line & burn out & disability & the root of writerly malaise
All Patreon newsletters are free and readable for everyone, I'm using it as a newsletter platform with scope for allowing people to see (and maybe even support???) future RPG work from me.
I was really cooking with this one. I've been stewing on this for a while and today was the lucky day I was finally compelled to write it.
If you want to know what it's like to try and get any work done as a person with unmedicated ADHD and autism, and why my TTRPG adventure The Perilous Pear & Plum Pies of Pudwick has been four years in the making, you should give this a read.
It's pretty candid, but what else should I do, pretend to be someone I'm not? Fuck that, this shit is hard as hell and my work is worth the effort.
It's a long read but a good one. It has good advice on thinking the relationship between self-worth and productivity (hint: you are not the problem), especially if you've got similar brain soup and circumstances to me.
Also if you want to sponsor a trial of ADHD meds for me you can like, consider assassinating and/or otherwise generally terrorising the government and corporate officials hellbent on destroying the National Health Service, I guess. Or I suppose you could just vote for the other team, who are also very vocally all in on genocide and the systematic destruction of the NHS? That would surely be as effective!
Until next time, drink it while it's green!

Eventually realized I could cough in Morse code yesterday, so I wheezed out some SOSs until a passing R5 unit answered my call and dragged me the rest of the way to medbay.
Am currently under the influence of a looooooooot of allergy medication. Can't operate heavy machinery, so Hux approved a sick day.
My bestest friend, M4-RT1N, is currently cleaning the cat hair from my quarters while I lie in a medbay bed doped up on antihistamines and hallucinating the ghostly form of a bearded man who stands in the corner drinking green milk and ranting about his "idiot nephew".
I hate this. It's almost enough to make me want to go back to work.

apparently people who have been to Galaxy's Edge in Disney say the blue and green milks are bad and leave a weird chalky feeling in your mouth and I am just
in awe
how do you mess up a beverage so bad Disney
I know you can afford quality control
It's really very easy. If you want blue milk to be something guests carry around in the park to refresh themselves while shopping/in line or whatever, you have three options, any of them would work:
Milkshake
Smoothie
Milk tea (maybe with boba. Get it? Boba? Star Wars? I'm funny)
If you want it to be exclusive to restaurants or whatever then just make it actual milk, dairy or plant-based, tinted blue. Maybe put it on a dessert menu. With cookies.
There, I fixed it. I'll take my check now.

Every year since Galaxy’s Edge East opened my daughter and I celebrate by going to a full day of Batuubounding, droid building, and drinking at Oga’s.
This year I’m finally going to go for it an build my lightsaber. I kept putting it off because of the price and the difficulty of getting a reservation close to the date. I live here and don’t usually plan out days at Batuu.
But I’m doing it. Countdown 46 days. I need to decide which type I’m going with.
I also want to master the obi-ani and be able to sight read auberesh. We’ll see how much I get through.

The fact that they call milk that is blue “blue milk” and milk that is green “green milk” implies there is an accepted “normal” color for milk to be in the Star Wars universe

I’m not saying this to be disgusting. I mean literally.
Certain cereals can make your milk go green. 💚🐄
Based on Pico Fnf Minus Mod. I really loved the design. My take on this take is prehistoric. There’s other people had this idea before me though.

The blue milk train disney's been on for star wars annoys me because it would be way more immersive to call it "bantha milk" since that's the creature it comes from.

and green milk should be called Thala-siren milk.

If you're going to do these things at least commit to the bit.

GREEN MILK | #004 | proclamations from the game design mountain
Me, bracing my wizard hat: The proclamation I'm yelling at the top of my lungs while great winds steal away my voice atop the Game Design Mountain: The medium of ttrpg systems with adventure modules must be forever changed! Instead of the Roles of play being glued to the System (character playbooks & classes attached to respective games), character archetypes should* be assigned at the level of the Module, for example: You roll 1d8 on the index page of Revenge of the Radioactive Basement Gators: you got "7 - The Inheritance". No one else will be this role – you check the box and turn to page 7. Beneath the shattered facade of wealth, your prompt reads: "Clear all wounds when shit finally hits the fan – you adapt instantly, like you were born for this, like this is all there ever was. You're ready to die down here. You're ready to kill. Your names are Death and Glory, and you understand each other." My wizard hat, soaring high above the scree of the Game Design Mountain:
From my end of April newsletter, additional thoughts lurk within!

Legendary Blue Milk from Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
Legendary Blue Milk from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge blue milk captures the nostalgia of the beverage, arguably the most famous drink in the entire Star Wars franchise! Fans first glimpse blue milk onscreen in Star Wars: A New Hope. Early in the film Aunt Beru Lars serves Luke Skywalker blue milk with during a meal at the Lars Homestead on Tatooine. Now Galaxy’s Edge offers park goers the opportunity to enjoy a fruity,…
