Im back and come bearing Chris Haversam who, upon the first time playing through game got so sad that i couldnt have him as a companion. Like fr I just wanna get him therapy and give him a hug. Like literally my boy got bullied for like building machines more that learning how to shoot guns and got bullied for it and like… he really is such a sweet guy why cant he be buddies with the followers. Hes so goob-coded and sopping wet i just want him to be happy

Also wild implications for the boomers since he was from the same vault as them. Like, did we potentially meet someone that bullied him? How does he feel about Mother Pearl and the other boomers that werent his tormentors? Did he leave before the mass exodus to nellis or did he leave earlier? Aaaaaah so many questions!

Chris Haversham was done dirty by the narrative and stand by that. I actually love the ieda of him maybe hopefully someday joining the followers. at least he gets to be besties with Manny Vargas in Novac in his good ending (even tho manny vargas was cannonically kind of a shitty friend from what we see in game but shh its fine its fine there living the dream together) but like he's so pathetic he deserves the whole world. he really did just spend his whole life being lied to, tormented, and kicked around like that's so sad.

i never knew about or maybe just forgot about the whole him coming from the same vault as the Boomers thing but DAMN does that make him like so much more pathetic and tragic. He's such a sickly sopping wet mess of a man. I want to wrap him up in a blanket and give him a hug and some hot soup.

So basically Viktor and Marly met before the time of the Arcane show, when Vitkor first became involved with Piltover's Academy. One of the people who worked on the show posted this on Twitter (sorry for the bad quality I screenshotted it over YouTube Shortz 💀) 👇

It reads: (From Amanda Overton, one of Arcane's show writerz!!) "We have a backstory for Viktor that wasn't made canon to explain how he got into the Academy. His parents saved up their money to buy him a uniform and he pretended to be a student until he gained Heimerdinger's attention. Instead of punishing him, Heimer made him his assistant!!"

I've been going off of that tweet for their story,, and treating it as their canon bc i make the rulez now‼️🗣️

So basically when Viktor was made Heimerdinger's assistant, Heimer was probably all like "You need a proper tour of the school" and whatnot,, and since he himself is supa busy (Head of The Council which is Piltover's government system, and also dean to the Academy), he chose someone else to do the official more in depth Academy introduction and tour instead!

AND WHO BETTER TO PICK THAN MARLY????!!!!!!?? Mostly basing this off of my own experience, the amount of times I've been put and placed to help out new students due to being "friendly", "able to work with many different people" and "responsible", (all said from my teacherz,, thank you teacherz,,) is quite frequently!! And I almost alwayz get along w these ppl so shout-out to all the new studentz I knew back in like elementary school!

So basically Heimerdinger calls upon Marly to help out with Viktor, such as touring him around the building, helping him set up his dorm, ECT,, the two also share a few classes!! Marly is down for the task as she is for most thingz,, but shez surprised, as shez never been directly called upon to help someone, itz usually she seez someone new in one of her classez and she startz talking to them. But nevertheless, she pullz up and is ready.

So BASICUHLLY she tourz him around for the day!! Marly is excused from her classez, and Viktor doesn't start his official classez until the next day. They hang out and have lunch in the school library (idk abt y'all but at my school you can do this itz so fun) and just chat n whatnot teehee,,,,,

The two got along really well initially! Marly (and me I've been told multiple timez) is a super easy person to talk to, very friendly!! And as Viktor eased into the conversation, the two practically bounce off one another'z wordz. They both got lil sparklez in their eyez when they talk about thingz they're passionate about. OUGH y'all shoulda seen Viktor'z face when Marly mentioned that, along with being an artist, she was interested in geneticz, and was quite skilled in that field.

As a life update, I have not abandoned writing!! Between fun summer travel and then two back to back surgeries for my poor puppy (15 month old, but he's still Baby), it's been a wild and unexpected few months. friendship + loss for feron!

Friendship: What's your OC like as a friend? How are they at making new friends? What are the most important friendships in your OC's life?

Up until meeting the rest of the tadfools, Feron had.......no friends. Or she thought she did. Sal's hometown was the village of Hill's Edge, once a thriving city near the Reaching Woods where she was held captive by Margaery. It used to boast at least 10,000 people during its busiest times, but with the goblins and gnolls and the hag within the woods drove many away. By the time Feron moved in with Salus, there was less than a quarter population left and most were kind of fond of Feron! A minor part of her backstory involved her running an apothecary, so my thoughts are that Sal opened the business in his retirement and his treks into the woods were to look for wild grown spell components and healing herbs. Feron helped him run it after a while and a lot of their regulars thought she was quiet but helpful and she was convinced they hated her (since for years she had been one of the causes behind the village's declining population; one of her duties was luring people into Margaery's territory after all).

It's very much a goob "they all hated me" while everyone is smiling & waving at him from Meet The Robinson's lmao. There's definitely someone in Hill's Edge who assumed they were friends and Feron had no idea, like Katniss with Madge in THG. She also managed to have a few short-lived flings somehow, but they always fizzled out quickly, either because Feron didn't live up to the mystique they had of her in their heads, or because Feron thought they were getting annoying.

Upon meeting the rest of the brain bug gang, Feron knew she had to either make it or break it since the survival of the entire group depended on them working together towards finding a cure for the worm. Meaning they were stuck together and she couldn't afford to spend however long painfully in awkward, silent agony with the others. So she does her best. Remembers the manners Salus taught her during her rehabilitation period and tries. In the end, she realizes she really had nothing to worry about: her friends were just as strange and fucked up as she was when they first met.

Loss: Is there anyone important to your OC who has passed away? How did they handle the loss?

Salus died of possibly the best thing anyone in a fantasy setting can die of: old age. Even being an adventurer in his youth couldn't take him down, so he lived his full half-elven life span (and nearly beat it by a year; Feron had hoped they could celebrate his 151st birthday before he passed but were shy about three months before he did). He was as spry as ever towards the end, always telling Feron he didn't need help getting around the house or lifting things but always ended up letting her help anyways. They still ran the apothecary together, though Sal would always leave after lunch to go take a nap lol. Then Feron would come home for dinner and they'd read together then go to bed. They had a routine together! So when Salus didn't wake her up one morning for another day at the apothecary, the whole thing really took a lot out of her.

Feron took a long time to grieve. The apothecary was closed for years. For a while she abandoned the house and went back to the woods, killing goblins and gnolls and anything that got in her way. She spent a lot of time in wild shape again, but this time by choice. It was her way of avoiding her emotions. After a particularly close call with a human hunter some decades later, she thought it time to be a person again, and went back to the house to try and get her life together.

She spent a while getting the house together again, then had another mini meltdown when she found out the apothecary had been foreclosed on. While cleaning up the house, she found the courage to go through Salus' old things and came across information on a relationship between him and one of his old adventuring companions. He'd once had a romantic entanglement with the party's gnomish cleric, Calyn Springweave, and it had ended poorly (but not so poorly that she didn't answer his letters when he summoned the party to take down Margaery). Feron thought she had the right to know of his passing and felt that Sal would've wanted her to know anyways. So she managed to track Calyn down to Baldur's Gate and was attempting to find her there when the nautiloid swooped in and got her.

Listening to the metamorphosis audio book and the fact that all of that *wild hand gesturing* is occurring from gregors pov which is almost entirely limited to the one room is boggling to my brain. All this is happening on such a small scale this book is so fucking devastating

I'm so not unusual in finding the metamorphosis both morbidly funny and pit-in-my-stomach-opening but ough Kafka you were engaging in some goob-ass thinking
