BDAY ONESHOOOOT IS REAAAALLLL

WORK COUNT 1677 YAAAAYYY YAAAAYYYY

The first of April was a treacherous day for most. People planning extensive pranks, while doing all they can to avoid the fruitful efforts of others pursuing them with pranks of their own. Laughter can be heard throughout Piltover as people fall for usually harmless traps, before their friends jump out and yell “April Fools!”. April first, a day filled with hoaxes and practical jokes.

With this, most people don’t think much about the day after April first. April second, what’s so special about that day? And in truth, to most there isn’t much waiting for them. It’s just another day in the month of April, right?

Yet, when Marly awoke from her bed, her eyes went wide from realization. Quickly putting her glasses on, she grinned. Today was a special day for her. The second of April was her birthday! Stumbling out of bed, she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and fix her hair. As the academy was on spring break, Marly didn’t seem to have a reason to change out of her pajamas, and she smiled at the thought. She ran her fingers through her hair, looking at herself in the mirror as she felt like today would be a good one.

Marly placed her brush back into the small drawer, and as she closed it, the sound of something metal clanking to the floor was heard in the main room of her dorm. Marly blinked, and slowly opened the bathroom door, then she left her bedroom. As she entered the main part of her dorm, her eyes went wide with what she saw.

The entirety of the main area of her dorm was adorned with brightly colored decorations, and vivid balloons. The words “Happy Birthday!!!” were scrawled out on paper that was taped up on the side of Marly’s small kitchen table. There was even a cake on the table, one that looked strangely familiar.

Next to the table, Marly spotted Viktor. He had one hand on the table as he was reaching down to his cane, which lay on the floor, the sure cause of the clanking earlier. She stared at him for a moment, before speaking up.

“Viktor? What are you doing here?” She asked, smiling softly. Viktor quickly straightened himself from his bent over position, a wide smile crossing his face when he saw her.

“Marly! Happy birthday, my dear!” Viktor exclaimed, grabbing something off the table as he walked over to her. When he finally reached her, he steadied himself before placing a colorful birthday hat onto her head, gently slipping the elastic band around her chin. Marly paused as she adjusted to the new feeling of the hat on her, before she smiled back at him. Viktor held back a laugh as he looked at her. She appeared quite silly, standing there in her pajamas, with a bright cone hat on her head, which was topped with short sparkly ribbons. He loved her dearly for that, and smiled knowing how much she would love his surprise.

“You’ve done all this?” She asked, looking around the room as Viktor nodded his head. He placed his hands on her shoulders, leaning against her, as he cane still lay on the ground.

“Of course I have! It is your birthday, so we shall celebrate,” he told her.

“Thank you!” Marly smiled widely, looking up at him to reach her hands towards him, cupping Viktor’s face in her hands as she pressed a kiss to his nose. She still held his face as she pulled back, squishing his cheeks softly, “You’re so sweet,” She murmured, before letting him go.

Viktor gave her a loopy grin as he watched her get his cane, taking it gratefully as Marly turned to look at the cake on the table, tilting her head.

“Do you recognize it?” He asked, keeping the grin on his face as he waited.

Marly nodded her head, looking up at him, “Of course I recognize it! It’s the tuxedo cake my family would always eat,” She tilted her head, “How did you even manage to get it? I’ve never seen them around Piltover,” She told him, her eyes lighting up as she spoke, clearly getting excited to see something so familiar from when she was younger.

Viktor smiled at her giddiness, before explaining, “Well, Professor Heimerdinger had me running some tasks for him on the outskirts of town,” he started, “Apparently the person I was helping out was a good cook, as they started offering me pastries for my service. So, I asked them about the tuxedo cake you always mentioned, and turns out they used to work in a place that would make them. I offered to work some extra in exchange for a cake,” He looked proud of himself, and Marly smiled widely at him.

“You did extra work, just to get a cake for me?” Marly asked, tiling her head as she smiled softly. She was usually the one doing things for other people. With Viktor in her life, Marly was getting introduced to the idea that she shouldn’t be the only one doing things in a relationship.

Viktor nodded his head, to see that smile of hers had made all the work worth it.

“Yes, I did. Why wouldn’t I?” He smirked, knowing full well that he would do that for any occasion.

“I’m unsure,” Marly murmured, thinking for a moment, before waving her hands “You must try the cake!” she exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air as she grabbed his arm, gently sitting him down at the small kitchen table. Viktor chuckled softly as Marly grabbed a knife to cut the cake. A plastic one, because neither of them trusted her with a real one. She also grabbed plates for them, along with utensils. She sat next to Viktor, before slowly pulling the cake over to her.

Her attempts in cutting the cake are generally successful, and the two end up with a lopsided slice of their own. Marly grins sheepishly as she hands Viktor his plate, and he smiles at this. For someone usually so precise with her work, Marly can’t seem to make a straight cut in a cake. It’s honestly endearing to him, so he takes the plate and his utensils. Marly watches him take a bite out of the cake, clearly excited to see how he would react.

Viktor furrowed his brow for a moment, before smiling at Marly. He nodded his head, before clearing his throat. “It's really good,” He told her approvingly, “I can see why your family would alway purchase this specific cake,” he added, going in to eat some more. Marly smiled widely, clapping her hands once before eating her slice of the cake herself. The two ate in silence, with Viktor engrossed in the new delicacy, and Marly too happy to form proper words at the moment.

When they both finished their current slice, Marly sat back, smiling at him. Viktor smiled back, before quickly standing up. Marly watched as he walked over to her mini-fridge, before opening it. He pulled out a small box, and Marly tilted her head as he came back to sit next to her.

“Why’d you keep that in the fridge?” She asked, laughing quite a bit.

Viktor grinned at her, “Because I’m aware you would have been curious if I left a box on the same table with a cake and decorations,” He explained, setting it down in front of her. He nudged her softly, wanting to see her open it.

Marly smiled widely, before taking the box in her hands. She slowly opened it, making sure not to rip any of the packaging. The box was wrapped in a colorful wrapping, and the actual box was similar to a small wooden chest. When she finally opened the latch, two things were visible. Marly grabbed the first thing, a small set of art supplies, practically a mini version of what she already has.

“You carry around so many things, and either you or your bag is going to break with all the strain, so this is the least I could do to help,” Viktor explained, smiling softly at her, “Now go on with the other item,” he prompted.

As Marly gently took the second item into her hands, she slowly unraveled the cloth that covered it. Doing this revealed it was a metal model of a small lamb. It was carefully carved, its metal molded together to fit perfectly. Turning it side to side, Marly noticed how there were little shaped holes in it’s back. She looked up at Viktor, tilting her head, “What are these for?” She asked softly.

Viktor scooted closer to her, reaching his hand out to gently brush one of the lamb’s ears, which went down like a switch. As this happened, light was produced from the lamb’s core, and shined through the little holes. While Marly held the lamb, Viktor hovered his hand over the model, revealing that in a dark lit room, it would depict a replication of the night sky’s stars. Marly looked in wonderment as she saw the display on Viktor’s hand. She soon looked up at him as he moved his hand, her eyes wide and mouth slightly open.

“It’s lovely, darling,” She whispered, carefully setting the lamb down on the kitchen table, a crooked grin on her face. Viktor grinned back at her, grabbing her hands and squeezing them. He had taken multiple metalwork classes to perfect this. While the inventor had worked on many projects before, he had never tapped into his artistic side of creating as much as he had now.

“Not as lovely as you,” He teased, to which she giggled softly. Marly was so happy with him, as she certainly wasn’t expecting this surprise from him.

“I’m very glad I get to spend this with you, y’know?” She whispered, smiling sheepishly. It was true, as Marly couldn’t imagine a better way to spend her birthday. A day between her and someone she loved deeply.

Yall know those "your F/O dancing with you" kinda stuff??? Yeah ok that but backwardz I am dancing with my f/oz like errm

Marly knowz swing dance,,, itz hella fun, and Viktor is kinda insecure abt dancing bc of his leg, limp and cane,, but he rlly wantz to hold n stuff, in the end it takez a lot of prodding from Marly but oh when she finally getz him to dance with her itz sohhnggghbn v gentle and intamate, slow careful steps with Marly not minding if he accidentally gripz her too tightly,, and she givez him the most blessed praise from her afterwardz

tho,, as the yearz pass (more around the part of the show after the timeskip,, act 2 or whatever), it getz increasingly harder for vik to dance as much/easily as he used to,,, it was a bit of a challenge even at the start, but now with him needing a crutch instead of a cane, and with his leg brace and increasing painz,, erm,,, it makez him sad bc he knowz how much fun Marly has with dance but she is assuring him that itz ok,,,,,,, oh man I’m gonna hhhgnbbtgtty (sorry had to get silly for a bit he is dying, bro dropz the line “We’re in uncharted waters now, and I can feel my body eroding” IM GONNA EXPLODE AND SOB ANDAND)

DW IM NOT GONNA END THIS ONE ON A SAD NOTE,,, every now and then they'll do the 'move' "basic" (I couldn't find a video but itz literally actually basic,,, like a default stance lmao,,, just moving legs one kinda small step with armz idk how 2 explain but rlly simple n easy),, which allowz for them to still kinda dance,, and the light movement helpz Vitkor's leg YEA yippee

PDA? No problem!!!!! Showing affect for one another in public is not a problem LMAO,,, there was most DEFINITELY a moment where someone was telling Marly stuff like "you can be with someone better and not someone from the Undercity" n shez all like "OH you don't like my boyfriend??? What if I kissed him on the mouth. In front of you." AND SHE DOES LMAO 🤯

it took viktor a while to ease into the idea of public affection but once he was comfortable with it bro is unstoppable,,,,

The usually outgoing, extroverted, estatic Marly who seems to have way too much energy in public is ever so passive and gentle when in private with Viktor

She handles Viktor very gently, with the most softest of touches and utmost consideration for his body, something that seems like she may not be capable of, with how loudly she presentz herself, she seemz like she may be a rough/rowdy lover, but she is quite the opposite in most situations

The two are very very attentive to one another’s needs. Does Viktor usually need a pillow to prop up his bad leg when cuddling? Expect Marly to pull up with her nicest softest pillowz ever,,, sometimez even onez that she usez personally herself!! Oh, Marly isn’t one to fall asleep easily? Expect to find Viktor laying with her for however long it takez, stroking her hair, pressing soft kisses to her face and whispering sweet nothings to her.

bleehhh Viktor is the little spoon LMAO somehow it still workz despite the height difference,, Marly is holding him so gently,,,

Marly def layz on the couch with Viktor and pullz him over to her,,,, laying his head on her chest while shez snug under him,, he mayyy press a kiss to her neck if hez feeling extra silly,,

ooohhh they love love to kiss eachotherz molez,,, vik has the obvious two on his face, and he actually has one on his neck (found this after analyzing many picz of him),, Marly actually has some, too! She has one on her neck in a similar place as Viktor’s,, and one near her chest area (? Idk anatomy bruh),,, def expanding on this one later bc of reasonz erm,,

Marly WILL beat yo ass if you shit on Viktor for his disability,,

Whether it be babying him and treating him as if he can't do certain thingz,,, or just making fun of him,, she will send you to the MEATGRINDER.

adding a teensy thing,,, Marly usually doesn’t get too mad easily,, but god forbid she becomez actually mad,,, she doesn’t hold back on wordz so expect to have her hit where insecuritiez lie,, maybe even getting physically violent depending on the situation

they are sooooo supportive of one another they are each other’s cheerleader ong

when Viktor had bad pain dayz, Marly is calling the both of them out of school/work,, spoiling and pampering him a whole bunch yeaagg,,,

Ough and god forbid the days where he feels insecure about his condition,,, when he believes that Marly should be with someone who isn’t “weak” like him,,,,

hes pretty stubborn abt that opinion when ir crosses his mind,,

but expect Marly to show him that she loves HIM. she wouldn’t choose anyone else over her silly scientist,,,

She can become pretty panicky when she needs to take them off for thingz other than sleep, changing clothes, showering ECT,,, and heavily weary of everything around her when without her spectaclez,,,

But!!! She trustz Viktor enough to have them off,,, bc cuddling with glasses on is uncomfortable and getz the lensez all dirty or whatever,,

She'll have her glasses laid down on a nearby table as they're both on the couch or a bed,,, even though she can't see well she trustz that nothing bad is going to happen,,,

The first few timez she did this she was still pretty anxious,,, but soft wordz and assurance from vik helped with that,,,

they’re both so into giving praise and wordz of affirmation to one another,,,,

thatz the consequencez of paring an observative scientist who WILL spit factz about his partner, and an artist who sees the good in people and admires beauty in everything,,,,,

they both have an incredibly sharp wit and tongue,, though words often come easier to Marly,,

Sometimez one of them will get all blushy and stumble over their wordz during back-n-fourth quipping and they'll both laugh it off,,,

OH they also do petnamez a ton,,,, Marly often callz him “Darling”, “Baby”, “Sweet Boy” and like anything else that gal can think of,,, Viktor callz her “[my] dear”, “sweetheart”, “mahal ko” (translates to ‘my love’ in Tagalog), “My Marly” ectect

YEAH HE LEARNED SOME TAGALOG FOR MARKY N JUMPSCARED HER WITH IT!!, marly kissed him breathless after that just so you know

Marly toleratez Jayce, taking more of a liking to him when they first met

but when that mf got into politicz and started straining his friendship with vik,,, uhoh errmm this does NOT slide with Marly,,

when Viktor legit just passez out in the lab,, when Marly found him, she called Jayce to help get him to the hospital, and he helped no questions asked,,,

and when uh. when vik was literally about to jump from a building and jayce distracted him. uh yeah Marly actually can’t thank him enough for that,,, Jayce found a small gift drawing from her later that week bc HOLAY MOLAY ERM if blud wasnt there then uhhhhh

and also the fact that he just isn’t mean to vik lmao,, Marly knowz that the two are pretty close and she respectz that

Bruh sometimez they are kindaaa clingy you don't understand bro physical touch is their love language ever

sometimez when Viktor is working in the lab and is like stuck on smth or will be there for a while,,, he'll have marly sit on the ground next to his chair so he can play with her hair or like pet her head while thinking idk man teehee

what does one do when the other cries/is upset?

Viktor will listen very intently to whatever Marly has to say, and will usually also result to physical comfort, just holding her close. Takes her to a more comfortable place. If the cause of her being upset is a person, expect him to confront said individual soon,,, will spend a ton of time checking on her and making sure she getz better

Marly is quick to provide comforting words, and also provides physical touch, pressing soft kisses to his face as she whispers sweet nothings to him. She’s actually quite worrisome, and almost panicky, but will do all she can to make sure that her lover feels alright

what yankee candle would marly and/or vik be?

idk stuff abt yankee candlez specifically so I’ll just give you scentz 🧍🏻‍♀️

Marly's would have a fruity fragrance,, watermelon mixed with some other things, surprisingly light, as to not give the buyer a headache lmao Viktor’s is a 50/50. The candle may smell like caramel and chocolate,,, or metal and light chemicals bc bro is silly like that

Actually, I've gotten your letter that you are not doing well, the Professor found you in the lab hunched over your work, an-and I told you to take a break.

I am not here to scold, I simply believe that you deserve a rest, you've been working so hard. And you are just simply burnt out. Burn out can lead to a crash and burn, don't you know?

But I simply believe in you, please take care, and take care of yourself. Be kind for your body, to see you roam these halls... I don't know how to describe it, I want to see you everyday, to see your growth, your creativity.

WOOOOOOOOO MORE WRINTINGGNGNNGGGGGGG

ONESHOT PERIOD EDDTION PLEASEE ELET ME GOOOO IM DEAD

(shorter than my usual stuff,,, word count 760 i just am so braindead)

“And…you went through all your classes like this?” Viktor questioned, looking over at Marly as she threw her backpack off her shoulders. The artist nodded her head, before quickly leaving the main room of her dorm to immediately change, soon coming back in comfy pajamas.

“Of course I did my classes like this!” Marly exclaimed, throwing her arms into the air as she spoke, “It’s not like I can call off my classes because I’m on my period,” She told him, placing one hand on her stomach afterwards, grumbling softly. The cramps for Marly this cycle were worse than usual, and she didn’t feel good about this. “They weren’t so bad this morning, but then they come in full swing during orchestra for goodness sake! Any other class I had would have been fine, but not orchestra!” She ranted quickly, her words slurring together with her speed.

If Marly had been a violinist, it may have been not as bad for having cramps during orchestra. Yet, she seems to have ended up picking the only stringed instrument in which one would have to spread their legs, to allow for the large instrument to sit in between the player’s knees. Viktor knew this, and grimaced at the thought.

“How about you lie down, hm?” He suggested lightly, using his cane to point to the small couch in her dorm. In all honesty, Viktor was unsure of how she got that couch inside, or even managed to get it approved by Piltover protocol, but it was a nice addition to her dorm.

Marly nodded her head, before flopping onto the couch, lightly hitting her head against the armrest. “Ouch,” She muttered softly, sliding down to fit herself onto the couch. Viktor stepped closer to the couch, eyes widening slightly as he watched her.

“Are you alright?” Viktor asked, leaning over her as she looked up at him.

“No need to worry, I’m fine, darling,” Marly murmured, smiling at him as she placed her hands on her stomach, still feeling the cramps in her stomach and lower abdomen.

Viktor nodded his head slowly, “What can I do to help?” He inquired promptly, raising an eyebrow.

“Honestly, I don’t even know what would help,” Marly shrugged, pursing her lips. Viktor thought for a moment, before speaking up, straightening himself out.

“Doesn’t heat help?” He questioned, “Perhaps we could apply a heat pack?”

Marly shook her head, “I don’t have any of those,” She replied.

“Why don’t you?” Viktor frowned slightly, shaking his head.

“Oh shush,” Marly rolled her eyes jokingly, “We both need to get into the habit of actually getting ourselves things that we need to take care of ourselves,” She told him. Viktor smiled at her retort, and walked off to grab a stool, slowly pulling it over to the couch, before sitting next to her on the seat. He leaned his cane against the couch, and reached out to caress her face softly.

“I suppose you’re right,” He replied, as Marly giggled softly at his touch.

“Your hands are surprisingly warm today,” She laughed, smiling up at him. Both of them usually had cold hands, so it was practically a revelation whenever the hands of either one of them didn’t feel like they were freezing. With this, she did her best to focus on him, instead of the pounding pain in her lower abdomen.

“They are?” Viktor raised his eyebrows in surprise, resting his hand on her cheek as he processed this. Marly nodded her head, and Viktor got an idea as he lifted his hand off of her face. He then proceeded to place both his hands on her stomach.

“What are you doing?” Marly laughed, feeling slightly ticklish as he gently pressed his hands onto her stomach. It was indeed warm, and Marly had a general idea of his reasoning for what he was doing, but she wanted to hear a reply.

“You said that you needed heat. Does this help?” Viktor replied, slightly smug as he had found a way to help. He flashed Marly a cheeky grin, and she giggled as she looked at him.

“Surprisingly, yes,” She said in between giggles, “It tickles,” Marly added soon after. Viktor chuckled quietly, leaning down to kiss her stomach gently.

“Well then, I will continue to do this until you feel better, my dear,” Viktor declared, clearly proud of himself. Marly calmed herself down slightly, allowing herself to relax as she enjoyed the warmth from him. Sure, she still felt the cramps, but they seemed much more bearable now.
