“Im just saying, a rom com romance would be fantastic tight now” I state to my best friend, Avery. “i mean everyday is the same thing over and over” i continue. I can tell she doesn’t care, Avery’s been in a relationship with her high school sweetheart, Jake since freshman year.

“you need to stop being desperate” she says scooting closer to me on our couch.

this may sound rude, but thats just how Avery is, ane i guess ive gotten used to it

“nobody understands me” i say dramatically as i get up and walk towards my room.

“remember, we are going out tonight” Avery yells

i hate going out, theres to many people

i feel like sometimes Avery relyes on me, i mean sometimes i wanna hang out with other people, not just her. Avery on the other hand, im her only friend and i understand why, i love her but she is so mean to any and everyone that she comes across.

a few hours pass and i begin getting ready. i put on a matching pink set with a tube top and a mini skirt, i feel cute, i cant wait for this to get ruined by a bunch of drunk, sweaty college students.

i know i take a while to get ready, i mean its taken me two hours to pick my outfit and do my hair and i haven’t even started my makeup yet. my excuse is that you can never rush perfection.

“bella cmon we gotta go” Avery yells, ‘how is she ready so early’ i think to myself, finishing my coat of mascara.

“ok, ok, im ready” i say 20 minutes later. i can tell shes pissed, but it doesn’t bother me.

“your so dramatic, its a 5 minute walk” Avery says, annoyed, as always.

“i think everyone has here” i say, to be honest, i dont know anything about basketball. but ive heard of her before and her eyes have me trapped, there so blue and inviting.

ok I know we've all talked about it I know but that gif removing the piss filter just reminded me how much I wish the people making asoiaf related media weren't ashamed of it. They do all this weird stuff to mute the colors mute the outfits mute the dialogue because they don't want it to be too weird or whatever. asoiaf is very serious it's extremely serious ok but it is also so vibrant and beautiful and there is an archaic way of speaking a lot of the time and that's part of what makes it such a good world. stop trying to put everyone in black in a scene that is filmed in the middle of night where the goal with dialogue is to see how many times you can say shit!

exactly it's my top 5 biggest criticisms. when GOT was airing, one of the most common praises was that it was 'grounded' and that even though it was fantasy etcetc it was still grounded. and to me that's just nonsense. why must everything be relatable to a modern audience? why cant the world be alien to us? why can't it be fantastical? yes its a little funny (the helms...) but its also just worldbuilding. a lot of it is also commentary. look at all these ridiculously dressed incest freaks in their huge elaborate castles juxtaposed against the fact theyre playing with the lives of peasants.

also why i hate the whole grimdark label. i do think the show can be labelled as grimdark, but not the books. the show, by association, has forced that label onto the books. ASOIAF is a series full of hope and love and light and yeah some silly bullshit but thats what makes it a lived in world with a coherent message. god. scream. death to hbo death to d&d

so i finally watched Bumblebee(2018) with a bunch of friends and

holy fucking shit

its incredible. its a 10/10. it is so, SO much better than the shit-tier bayformers movies were. it has color and soul and emotion and actual plot and clear motivations for the characters. the decepticons arent some morally gray vague entity, theyre a clearly manipulative, tyrannical regime. the autobots are clearly a resistance force that lost the war and is going to earth to regroup. the movie immediately opens up with a sequence that is full to bursting with color and personality and it makes it very clear that the fights and the cybertronians arent going to be all gray and greebly and boring because their designs are obvious renditions of the generation 1 iterations. theyre the actual transformers! and oh my GOD i cant stop gushing about the actual transformations in the movie, like, look at this.

my friend indyjacob said this, which is a technical examination that that i couldnt put into words:

it's not like the fucking original michael bay ones where the transformations are weird nonsense. like, you can see the cockpit canopy flip down into the chest piece, or the wings invert and then raise up alongside the jets, and the front intakes rotating into the arms. the parts of the vehicle actually shift into place on the new body as if it were the old toys

and these multi transformations are cool too

the animations are slower yet more impactful, theyre much less blurry, and they look incredible. the fight choreography incorporates many more transformation sequences, especially in the final fight of the film, and they have more weight to them. the fights arent just them ripping each other apart and blasting each other with one hit kill weapons. they use the environment, they use creativity, they use martial arts, and as with the transformations, its not a messy blur of gray movement. you can actually see whats going on!

and then the characters. oh my god theyre great. our main character aside from bumblebee is, first of all, a young woman named charlie. already starting off on a great note. and she has personality! this is the story of a girl and a transformer and their unbreakable bond that i so badly wanted mikaela and bumblebee to have in the bayformers films.

bumblebee himself is also fantastic- i wont spoil anything but his arc is sooo satisfying. and the villains arent just like, mindless monsters. they arent caricatures, they have clear personalities and motivations, and their plans are satisfying yet dismaying to watch unfold. and then agent burns, played by john cena, is such a great character. hes not just an insect in a hivemind of soldiers, hes a person who eventually actually understands whats at stake and he ended up as one of my favorites. just look at him!

the boy! so much emotion there. youll understand if you watch and reach that point in the film.

in conclusion, Bumblebee is the live action reboot that transformers really needed. michael bay did have a message in his original movies, but transformers was the wrong medium for it, and this film is everything that they should have been. if you havent watched it yet because, like myself, you were scared off by bayformers, please give it a shot. its nothing like them. like i said at the top of this post, its a 10/10. it rekindled my love for transformers, and i am very excited to see where this new line of movies goes.

So i just watched Nope last night and i think its fuckin fantastic. The way they use sound design so you cant really tell if youre hearing screams or the wind, the way they dont really reveal what you're seeing when Gordy is attacking the cast and crew, the way they hint at the fact that the spaceship is made of a fabric-like material by showing its surface ripple in the wind as it flies by, and then the reveal itself when it unfolds, and the square pattern in the center 'eye' bit that pulsates like a real animal who is trying to threaten something and seem bigger than it. The design of the alien that just looks so strange and otherworldly, and the way they stop hiding it and the vibe of the whole movie changes after OJ finds out that its really an animal.

also on the topic of OJ, the way they show how trauma can effect different individuals in different ways, and that it can be hard to understand each other during times of grief because you arent experiencing things the same way. OJ is quiet, unable to let himself be assertive, and it seems like he feels really empty. its clear to the viewer that he really DOESNT want to have to sell the horses, but thats all he can do at that point. it isnt clear to emerald, though, who tells him that hes a cold hearted son of a bitch for selling 'pops horses' and that he should have fought for them harder. she just doenst understand that he did all he could. but through the movie, she comes to understand that he is hardworking, and he did try, and they rekindle their relationship and dont seem put off by each other anymore.

i love this movie, and its messaging, and the way it shows the creature that they fight against, and god damn the imagery of the house not being rained on but showered by a downpour of blood, the blood of the people that the creature ate, is amazing. and the scene where it shows the process of digesting them is cool too. god it was great.

anyway. you know how i got into twisted wonderland cause i read khr fics where skull was them or something? there was a riddle rosehearts one. and it honestly solidified riddle as one of my favorites before i even knew him

also it makes a lot more sense now (the writer gave him a happy family for one though which awe)

also "...and completely lost track of the time." gave me literal chills

anyway i hate the purple twistunes (sometimes the blue and red ones are trippy when notes are playing at the same time but i got into the habit of 1. listening to the music for guidelines, and 2. noting which color came first so i dont get confused). they're so unreasonably hard sob getting the timing right is hard and the music is a liar because i expect there to be a beat so i hit too early because im listening to the music and its WRONG. so i have to take the music with a grain of salt. listen to it but dont strictly follow it. and really focusing on the white bar but you ever focus so much you stop being able to focus like oh my god i get distracted and i dont know wHY (and thus comes the technique of 'go to the hardest difficulty, beat it, and then go back' or like. at least try it. cause sometimes it makes normal easier???)

if i didnt get all the things for twistunes itd bother me eternally. because rhythm is my jam. but sometimes they're so frustratingly hard cause you have to get like no misses (or no goods and stuff) for easy and normal. and easy is easier but sometimes it just doesnt click with me and aGH.

and im SO thankful that you dont have to get no misses on hard, you just need like ss and stuff which isnt that hard because you can miss a bunch and still get there. but oh my god i remember this time i was so used to it that every mistake i made on hard i just reseted. took a minute to think and realize 'hey wait a second this is hard')

Getting invited in a Ball was stressful, you have to learn proper eating and talking manners and you have to walk delicately in heels.

Thankfully, your outfit was provided by your dearest crush friend, Malleus, who was a young prince. A servant like you meeting up with a royal like him was really odd but for some reason, you find comfort around a person like him.

After putting on your gown/suit, fixing your hair, putting on make up and making sure you smelled good, you dashed outside your little house and ran straight to the carriage that was waiting for you.

You had to admit, wearing such rich clothing was really uncomfortable since you're much more used to wearing your big "shabby" clothes, but it gave you a faint of excitement.

The horse clattering their heels and the woosh of the wind made you impatient as time goes by slowly but surely.

When you arrived at the enormous castle, you felt yourself getting struck by a wave of anxiousness, you were all alone with no one as your partner, the only thing you have so far is an envelope which contained the invitation that was given by yours truly.

You gulped before walking inside, showing the envelope to one of the guards. When they finally said you were good enough to go, you sprinted towards your way to the bathroom, in hopes to come yourself down.

You breathed in and out, closing your eyes before letting out a big sigh. Once you were done, you quickly got out of the bathroom, making your way towards the main hall.

The crowd made you feel small as you desperately tried to scoot over towards the food. Once you finally got a glance of the food, you licked your lips before grabbing a plate.

While deciding what food you were gonna get, you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You turned around and jumped as you see Malleus right in front of you.

"Malleu- I meant Prince Malleus! You look fantastic!" You grinned, heart rapidly beating as you watched him go closer. "You look fantastic as well. I see you wore the clothes I gave you?" He asked while grabbing a cupcake from one of the trays.

"Of course I will wear them! They look amazing." You replied, glancing at Malleus who was scanning you. You felt your cheeks heat as you watched him grin at you, "They suit you well." He continued, giving you a small simple nod.

You thanked him for his compliment, ignoring the small pink tints on his cheeks as you were too focused on the food. You stopped as you felt the upbeat music turn into a slow and romantic one.

You stiffened at the romantic aura immerging from within the crowd. You heard Malleus chuckle alittle before pulling you softly by your hand, "Shall we dance, dearest?" He asked, bowing at you.

When you two finally arrived at the Castle's balcony, you gasped in awe at how beautiful the moon was tonight. The stars were twinkling and the wind howled, right now, you were alone with Malleus.

You looked at him as he gazed upon the stars, smiling at how gorgeous it is. He then finally looked at you, his hands once again, pulling you into a dance.

The scene was really romantic and it made you gush over at how cheesy you both looked right now. You two slow danced while the moon shined over you two, Malleus's eyes were fixated unto yours, you couldnt help but admire his green orbs.

"Y/n, i.. um." He quietly mumbled, enough for you to hear. You waited patiently for his words, swaying and matching his slow rhythm.

He stopped for a bit before slowly grabbing something out of his pockets, a red rose that signifies love. You softly smiled at his action, taking the flower that he offered to you without hesitations.

Malleus coughed for a moment before speaking once again, "I have something to confess.." As soon as those words left his mouth, you felt time stopped around you. You hummed, waiting for his confession, your heart was practically pumping out of your chest.

"I love you so much and I want to be yours." He finally continued, his cheeks were painted red as he looked at you with shiny eyes. You were fighting the urge not to kiss him but you soon gave in to the urge the moment you wrapped your arms around his neck.

The kiss was calm, soft and delicate. You fluttered your eyes open when you two finally pulled away, you couldnt help but giggle alittle, "I love you too, my prince."

HS: any of signless' crew. like. we got shafted so hard with the dancestors its crazy. in my wildest dreams psiioniic didnt get utterly crushed by the vast glub and somehow escaped at the ripe age of 2000 sweeps and is now overgrown and too old and ancient for his own good, squatting in solluxs hive. we didnt get much content about how signless did his recruiting- did he just do speeches and demonstrations? did he fuck nasty? i know for sure it wasnt the cringe dialogue they strapped kankri with. same goes for dolorosas life before she raised signless, she should be at the club.

ST: background vulcans. especially in TNG when they just stopped giving a fuck about them, thank god tuvok exists or i wouldve had no incentive at all to actually watch part of VOY.

hussie also just like, had it out for him at day one. gamzee got beaten to a pulp narratively but equius didnt even get a chance. its sad, and im more interested in what he couldve been rather than someone like eridan or meenah.

ST: kai winn. shes literally an alien white woman and its fantastic. she did her role so good that the poor actress got hatemail, and her insidiousness is just so well done. the final season of ds9 isnt that good but it was fun to see her go off the rails with dukat.

HS: what do i look like? hussie? in truth when it comes to being a flop i like seeing kanaya flounder. shes weird guys. she is so fucking weird and she doesnt really know because her friends are Weirder. we dont always need her to slay, atleast in my book.

HS: jake. if he has a deeper character i havent noticed because my eyes glaze over trying to read through this dialogue. he feels like a leftover shitpost character hussie couldnt fit on the dancestors. i havent reread act 6 yet, but i remember such a large chunk being some strange love triangle-square surrounding jake and i did Not Give a Fuck, and salt in the wound was dirk and janes friendship being so fantastic but overshadowed by jakes unceasing sex appeal cursing them.

Dumbass!! - Machine Girl: this song both sounds like and has similar effects as brainworms. it fuckin. got in there and made me quantifiably more insane than i was before. said brainworms make me wanna scream the lyrics and scuffle my feet and just like run into traffic and dance around the cars bc this song makes me believe i could and id be fine. i hope to fucking god they play this at the mg/100 gecs show. this song is also one of the few times ive looked up the lyrics for a machine girl song, usually content to just let the beats jar my head, and as soon as i did i couldnt get them out :) like some sort of... thought... eating... something or other idk theres probably a word for it (<-the worms are finally getting to her)

Fantastic Cat - Takako Minekawa: this song is sooooo cute, there is so much synth and whimsy to be had! unfortunately i don't know much about the artist bc this was one of the first songs i found after using Radiooooo (which u should be basically required to use if u like music and finding new music) set to Japan in the 90s, but she's part of the 'shibuya-kei' genre/subculture that was popular during that time, which sounds like an interesting topic to dive into :3 the whimsy contained in this song is almost too much tho. the melody is so sweet, that wind instrument is so silly, and the moog breakdown in the middle too is. well, its all quite fantastic.

HI 5 - Frost Children: i took too long making this post that this entry went from originally a cheeky indirect plug for their upcoming album bc i just really liked this single to just,, oh the album came out... but either way i wanted to talk about the song bc 2 me its just more proof of how exciting of a voice in hyperpop the frost children are. the bass on it is as crazy and slick as the one on the cover. this whole song just explodes with eccentricity i think ull really like it :) also check out the epic music video! its ai generated for those who'd like to know beforehand, but they use it to like. rotoscope real footage its preddy neat!

Introduce me to your family - Otoboke Beaver: i made a little post recently about Otoboke Beaver's influence on six impala's WFLYTD, and after revisiting their album, Itekoma Hits, after making that post i got this one stuck in my head for a while. the hook hooks (the main reason i had it in my head for so long), the bass is groovy, the guitars are sharp, the rage is channeled, its all here! they keep all the energy going and growing the whole time until you cant help but scream along.

こんがらがった! (Kongaragatta!/Tangled up!)- Necry Talkie: started reading the bocchi manga recently (im just past where the show ends as of now :3) and they have art at the beginning of each chapter with the kessoku band members that references visuals from like irl japanese bands and music videos which i thought was really cool! of course i had to find a collection of all the referenced songs, and what do ya know... this cute little number was in there! (if ur wondering it's the art for chapter 18 that references this song's music video :3) its such a dinky beat at first (said so so lovingly) but it evolves into a precise, energetic little jam.

One Million Dollars - 100 gecs: this fucking sonnng.. not everyones fav off 10k i know but it is for me :3 it just rattles me in such a specific way. it originated and is the only way to sate the need in my brain to hear what it was like for nic cage in that "not the bees!!!!" scene. i love it sm, but im absolutely biased from my hearing this at a gec show and falling for it right then and there. the live version and the album version are a bit different and i think the changes they made for the album make it a fuller song i just. loved the feeling of hearing this live so much. i would just search up the epic live version at terminal 5 where Laura fucking SHREDS on the guitar at the end over and over while i was waiting for the album. again, makes me very excitied to see them and machine girl soon :3

o (__*) - Hakushi Hasegawa: i dont know much about this artist but goddamn the few songs i have heard from them have made such an impression. u know a song is good when its not even dnb but uses the "yeah.. woo!" sample to keep everything going. and yeah with how crazy fucking banana bonkers jazzy and technical the drums and piano get at times it needs that tiny bit of stability at least. this song feels like the epitome of controlled chaos in the absolute best way possible.

PARTY GIRL - Angel Electronics: after rook's latest solo album came out i decided to go back and visit this collab project of hers with ash nerve i had missed at first and.... weeeeeeh ;w; this song makes me wanna cry every time. rook can obviously write some bangers but i love her more tender songs too. so many parts come together to make it just the sweetest thing. the part that stuck with me the most was the chorus, like it's sooo cute id just sing it to myself on loop bc it leads into itself so well. i wanna just keep talking about how fucking cute this song is but like George Costanza voice the love story between the party girl and the weird shy girl got to me okay?

Prime - Marnie Stern: kinda the reason im making this list hehe :3 this song was on char 'igottawin' mp3's most recent WILT (what im listening to) poast (hi char :3) and it was What Im was Listening To... too... (both of us bc of this epic animation) so here it is on MY knockoff WILT post too mwahaha hahaha! haha but seriously guys this song is quite good. it does so much with all the variations on just that one verse and i get sucked into the lyrics and the guitars. and by the fourth time im chanting this same unending verse the song is surprisingly over and i just wanna listen to it again. this one deserves a 10 hr extended version frfr

Wait and Bleed - Slipknot & 青春コンプレックス(Seishun Complex) - Kessoku Band: whats this? a double entry? ahaha yes! 😈 i would've put these songs here separately bc ive been getting into both slipknot (thank u char :3) and the actual kessoku band album, both of which are quite good on their own. but i only combine their entries here bc of this epic mashup of these two songs by the aforementioned rook blackdresses which makes me unable to sing either without thinking of the other song. like the first three chords of the bocchi theme start playing and my brain wants to scream the GOODBYEEEEEE from Wait and Bleed. the slipknot chorus melds with the kessoku band guitars soooo well. to me they are pieces from different puzzles entirely but they still fit together <3

wants mom to know she looks cool and doesn't plan on changing - leroy: i finally listened to the dariacore and accompanying berdlycore serieseses and ive loved diving into this little subculture of silly hyperpop meme mashups that fuck immensely. takes the silly to earnest and very good pipeline to a new level. plus having been a fan of dltzk and jane's other stuff its the one thing i never really got into but there are. so many dariacore related things i need to listen to now. i feel like theres lore i have to catch up on but im excitied :3 this is one of my faves off dariacore 2: electaria corebaloo (not what its called)

S2E7 Burial - a post viewing rant

feeling like brokeback mountain tai tonight, head hung low, in solemnity. I just watched season 2 episode 7 'Burial' (yes i havent finished, don't sue me i like to take my time) and by god if that wasn't one of the greatest episodes of television i have ever witnessed in my short life. it was simply fantastic and topped the previous episode for me.

the way they weaved between the timelines was particularly good. i do not understand how they managed to fit in so much character development in one episode. like i feel like we learnt so much about shauna, misty, van, and lottie. i also found it really interesting how each one of their 'therapies' seemed to be really effective almost like it was planned .

i was nearly brought to tears by shauna and that stupid fucking goat. the manifestation of shauna's trauma through her estranged relationship with her daughter uugghhh. i cannot imagine what effect it would have had on her to lose the baby in the wilderness and it completely explains why shauna keeps callie 'at arms length'. the callback to jackie was also done fantastically. i miss her too though shauna, you're not special.

this episode had me thinking that misty isnt even that psychotic; baby just wants to be loved. her motives of not wanting her friend to be eaten actually warms my heart (doesnt excuse what she did). the fear of knowing that the body was out there and if it were to be found, mari would turn it into her next masterpiece of a stew, would be too much for me. i was also enjoying having all the girls on the compound just as much as she was. my very much needed comic relief.

ok taissa really turned up the crunchy gay vibes this episode like you know that women knows how to pitch a tent. (doesn't she have like a state to run or something?!?) the taivan moments were DELICIOUS and she was like REALLY getting into that kiss. i love how all it took was one kiss from her ex gf for her to start planning her divorce.

look van, your situation is tragic, really, but girl...you have had your face eaten off by wolves and have been burned alive TWICE like i think cancer is the least of your problems.

I FUCKING CALLED THAT LOTTIE'S THERAPIST WAS NOT REAL!!!! I KNEWWWWW IT. just thinking though, to be Lottie Matthew's therapist you'd have to be like the final boss therapist you get once you have defeated all other therapists. i find it very interesting that lottie wanted all the girls to go home once she had scared herself sufficiently (dont even ask me what that Antler Queen shit was about). All nat had to do was up the sexual innuendo and to get her to change her mind.

speaking of which, the lottienat truthers were FED this episode. like they're SOOO GAYYYY. I can feel a rage creeping up on me already. it's a preemptive rage. i am preparing myself for when the COWARD writers of this show do not deliver on the canon that we know we deserve in season 3. LIKE ITS ALL THERE. ALL THAT SET UP FOR... a wilderness lottienat kiss (*prays*). i will stop myself from speaking any further on the issue of lottienat (im sure you'll see the gifsets later - sorry in advance)

ok, and FINALLY. Of all the gore, bloodshed, and gruesome, or downright depraved moments in this show...NOTHING has come close to what i witnessed in the final scene of this episode. it is the only moment in yellowjackets where i have actually had to cover up what i was seeing on the screen. i am a big girl now and that was just too much for me. like, the cannibalism is one thing, but i draw the line at having to watch shauna shipman beat the shit out of lottie Matthew's pretty face. LIKE YOU CANT DO THAT TO HER. i was waiting and wanting so badly for natalie to step in and stop her but she just kept going. no one did anything and i dont get it. i understand that she needed to let her rage out but SHE WAS ABOUT TO KILL HER WTF. when lottie put her hands behind her back, my heart sunk bro. shauna you violent bitch. lottie you pathological people pleaser.
