GLOWING MUSHROOMS Der Herbst ist für mich meine Jahreszeit. Da gibt es eine Menge, nebst Sonnenaufgänge und -abgänge zu fotografieren. Artet schon fast in Stress aus. Nebel im Wald, Nebel über dem See, Nebelwellen, Wasserfälle, bunte Bäume und Wälder und eben Pilze. Für mich ist es sehr entspannend im Wald nach fotogenen Pilzen zu suchen. Wenn sie nur nicht so weit unten wären 😬 Schon lange übe ich an den sogenannten magischen Pilzen rum. Also nicht zu verwechseln mit denen, die man einnimmt! Sondern so beleuchtet, dass die Schirme leuchten. Heute zeige ich mein erster Erfolg mit dem Licht, dafür sind die Lammelen nicht ganz scharf 🙈 Aber ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis 🤩 Das Problem ist, dass sie schnell zu fest beleuchtet werden und dadurch ausgefressen wirken bzw. viele Lichtflecken da sind und wer mich kennt weiss, dass ich die nicht ausstehen kann 😉 Ich weiss, entweder gefällt einem die Art Pilzfotografie oder eben nicht. Aber dezent erstrahlt, finde ich das sehr faszinierend. Just finished this cute little 5” cloche dome today. It’s a little busier than I meant for it to be. I’m working on simplifying my work in all aspects. But overall I’m happy with the result. This was my first time pinning insects and I don’t think I did terribly considering I was just using sewing pins and a pin cushion. LoL. Almost everything in this dome is natural, most of which I collected myself. The only exception, of course, being the light up mushrooms. Glowing mushroom...

Once upon a time in the land of dwarves and elves, ancient mushrooms were discovered. Mushrooms that glow in the dark and are therefore used for dwarven lamps. One of the other properties of these mushrooms is faster healing and healing of wounds, which is why they are willingly and often used by elven and dwarven shamans.

A year ago, people from the "Zbudujmy To" association prepared for the #summerjoust2022 project showing gnomes/dwarves preparing for a feast. There were beautiful natural structures and well-made insects on which the dwarves rode. @klocki_z_zapalem @jaskierthebard @toltomeja @so_sirius_ It was one of the best inspirations to take this photo.

I hoped I could find some internet sites which listed exact locations to find mushrooms. I guess people don’t want to share that information. Fortunately, during the Fall, mushrooms abundantly grow all over the forest. So, to find mushrooms, I simply go to nearby forests and walk through the woods. They are easier to find than I expected.⠀ ⠀ I watched all the episodes by @dirkercken from his wonderful mushroom light painting masterclass. His detailed instruction corrected my many previous mistakes.⠀ ⠀ I’ve previously used my Nikon 60mm macro lens. However, I wanted to try a lens with a longer focal length. Also, the focus ring on my Nikon lens does not turn smoothly. It makes it very difficult to fine tune my focus.⠀ ⠀ For this picture, I used my @Rokinon 135mm f2 lens. Although not a macro lens, this reasonably priced lens is versatile enough for mushroom photography. It’s bright aperture and long focal length delivers beautiful, out of focus backgrounds. The quality focus ring on this lens turns super smooth, providing sharp, detailed, in focus photographs.⠀ ⠀ I took about 15 photographs of the mushroom, each with a different focus point.
