While I was in Iceland I saw the strangest crossover – Reykjavík meets Baden-Württemberg meets Nordrhein-Westfalen. The city was absolutely swamped with these stickers, these were just the ones that I took pictures of:

And then there were the copy-cats:

And then there were the busses – Nordrhein-Westfalen seems to have sold busses to Iceland and in Reykjavík they have not even bothered to remove the German labels:

Black Butler Characters ranked after their ability to adapt to Modern Japan (with commentary)
16. Viscount of Druitt
- just throw him out of the county, like take him and throw him at the Chinese or ban him to Deshima
- he can chase away the Dutch
- Japanese has many small islands, just put him at one and wait until a tsunami sweeps him away
- England would be so much better without him
15. Undertaker
- he's already an outcasts to the Reapers, so no chance Japan takes him
- would probably famous with the kids
- too much buddhism (actually wrote an essay about his connecting to Buddhism and the dead)
- would at some point conquer Japan with his army of corpses/bizarre dolls
14. Grell Sutcliffe
- too eccentric to survive Japan, sadly
- Japan can't handle her fabulousness
- would probably be famous on Japanese TV
13. Ronald Knox
- it's mainly just the dyed hair
- though his work ethic with slacking off and not sending in his reports in time could make it hard for him to find a job
- he's like the strange foreigner that no one knows what to do with, but they secretly admire him
12. Earl Charles Grey
- he could be like a loyal samurai, but not really sure if he counts as too eccentric
- I find him too eccentric
- naww, he should just stay loyal to the Queen of England
11. Bardroy
- he's the American the Japanese are afraid of
- like he's absolutely going to burn the town
- though firearms were actually introduced to the Japanese by China and the Portuguese
- Japan would probably still receive him well, but yeah... It's definitely his dangerous hobby
10. Finnian
- too loud and too noisy
- but he's kind
- the Japanese wouldn't know what to do with that kindness (or just his energy in general)
9. Mey-Rin
- knows how to be polite and apologises enough times to be mistaken for a Japanese
- she's actually Chinese, so chances are high, she's mistaken for Japanese
- she has actually some traits of Japanese's polite policy
8. Lau
- he's Chinese, he can do it
- he doesn't fall out of the picture, so no one would notice him anyways
- the opium, though, is a problem
- a very big problem
- no, I won't be talking about why Japanese shut themselves up in the Edo time (among various other things, it had something to do with opium)
7. Wolf
- that guy is German, he can work with Japanese (the relationship between Japan and Germany was actually good)
- I just wanted to include him, because I love the German characters
- and I really want to make fun of my country
- because Japanese once thought they could get along with the Germans well, so they built a little Tokyo there
6. Ciel
- he knows how to behave
- probably owns Nintendo and all sweet factories
- Japanese business is flooding under his control
- at the same time he can't shake off his Britishness
- he's absolutely going to detest the language, even when Sebastian and Tanaka teach him
- its the British sarcasm that will eventually kill all his relations with Japanese companies
5. Sebastian Michaelis
- i didn't want to rank him that high, buuut...
- he would actually make a good Japanese
- the bowing
- the politeness
- the loyality
- but he's a demon and he has proven to be quite eccentric, sooo...
- I would say, he's good at adapting but not good at being Japanese
- he has no nationality
4. Elisabeth Midford
- has actively tried to defy the norms of her society
- makes her a strong character but the Japanese would probably not approve
- she cries too much
- her voice is too high
- but she can fight and would make a good soldier
- probably survives Japan
3. Edward Midford
- respects the rules, knows how to adapt, I would say, he's safe
2. Just the Midfords in general
- like they are all good
- they would settle in Japan and be happy
1. William T. Spears
- the ideal Japanese man
- seriously why is he Britain when it's absolutely obvious that he's Japanese
- like the first time he appears he hands out his business card in the formal Japanese way
- he's always bowing the Japanese way
- he literally has the work ethic of a Japanese businessman and the mentality
- honestly, I want to see him go to Japan in the anime/manga
1. Tanaka
- of course, he's the winner, because he's Japanese
- and there isn't much more to say

„Die Welt, obgleich sie wunderlich, ist gut genug für Dich und mich.“

A beautifully arranged deluxe edition of the humorous work of German poet and illustrator Wilhelm Busch (1832 - 1908), can be roughly translated as “The Pearls of German Humour- Collected poems with 400 original illustrations by Wilhelm Busch”. Published around 1910 by Dr. Rudolf Will in Berlin, book design by Fritz Adolphy, the portrait of Busch an etching by Prof. Wilhelm Hecht, inspired by the painting of Franz von Lenbach.

„Wer der Gerechtigkeit folgen will durch dick und dünn, muss lange Stiefel haben.“
Tumblr media
„Materie - Hartnäckigkeit der kleinsten Lebewesen.“
Tumblr media
„In Ängsten findet manches statt, was sonst nicht stattgefunden hat.“
Tumblr media Tumblr media
„Die Summe unseres Lebens sind die Stunden, in denen wir liebten.“
Tumblr media
Busch’ illustration are still so innovative and provoking, while playing with the bourgeois double moral standards and satirising any kind of contemporary life situations, that the core of human nature is unsurprisingly well presented and reminding us of the difficulties in realising the personal integrity, particularly when self-reflection is inhibited through characteristic weakness of any kind.
Laughing about us and our failures can break the inflexibility of the interpretive mechanism that is paralysing us, because expectations are often above or under the real circumstances. Laughing can help to flatten the sharp existential fears, that are restraining us to be capable of our deepest strength. Humour is the friend of the hungry and the forgotten, when soulache is simultaneously felt as a gift and burden, we laugh to shake off the scoria to feel light-hearted and tender-tongued again, because every oppressiveness shalt be overcome. And when a trauma shudders the built walls of protection, we will laugh with tears in our eyes, because this improvisation was another form of emotional imprisonments for the ashamed hider and we will allow the flames to crawl into our spiritual castle and in the rising of the madness our crown will shine even more marvellous and brilliant.
In hysterical fury the humour will help to tell apart virtue from vice, it won’t makes us feel that our life is a joke, but a tragicomedy - maybe without deus ex machina, but we still can interfere into the script and however the ending will be, the moments of up-lifting emotional moments can turn even black painted scenario into contentment, because we were not afraid to show our feelings and laugh, when life is overwhelming us.
When a person seems cheerful and merry, the most people do not know what kind of huge mental work was invested to appear in this happy way.
„Mancher kann nicht aus dem Fenster hinausdenken.“
Every individual has its own ways and strategies to deal with difficulties in strokes of fate, but it is indeed an old wisdom to accept laughing as a motivating therapy and possibility to enjoy life as a chance to share love and warmth. With a smile and patience so many limits can be exceed, so many wonderful segments of ourselves can be found, so many wonderful people can come together in harmony, because we have found inner peace by transforming the shadows into light.
Thanks to all motivating mentors, who are undeterred fulfilling the educational mission without expecting earthly goods or honours, because the intercession in form of humour is more than a handout.
„Metaphysik und Worte! Das ist gerade so als wenn man einem die Lehre von der Erbsünde auf der Flöte vorspielte!“

Ah, yes. I have the feeling the staff at this particular Wursttheke are having a bit too much fun with Halloween.
Am contemplating to get some hand, as one has to support seasonal and regional produce, right?

I think this translate to “The Scariest Monstrous Ugly Swine Who Ever Lived”. Either that or “The Vain Little Piglet Rosalie.”
A book you very likely don’t have on your shelf #385

If there is one thing to know about me, it is that I absolutely adore German poet Friedrich Schiller. He was an interesting man that lived during interesting times, had interesting relationships and who worked in interesting professions – and there are few humans who used the German language in a more beautiful way than Schiller did. And recently I found out, that Schiller has his own Playmobil figure … you may guess who is now the proud owner of said Schiller figure. :-)

Episode 8 brought us so much joy and yet I'm lying here, still not over that stupid bread scene.
Of all the things they could have made kinky...it had to be bread.
How am I supposed to sit at the breakfast table and look my mother straight in the eye while getting turned on
BY
BREAD.
💀💀💀
