mom and i had a bad day at work yesterday and today. she's coping with a british crime drama, coffee, and a donut. i'm coping with my own two donuts (for ruggie lol) and two-way ruggie [reverse] comfort. plus, i know maybe yall are either finishing ur finals or starting ur finals and figure yall could use some comfort ruggie as well.

gn!yuu. might be a bit specific?? i'm a bit attached to ruggie plus he'd be one of the best twst charas at cuddles imo.

another day. another slew of chores from leona done.

normally the extra lunch or spare change found in the lion's pants pockets would've made up for the long hours spent running across campus. but no amount of fresh, hot donuts could make up for the long line at sam's buying up all the good, cheap detergent, the mountains of fresh, "we're back from break" assignments, and some back talk from some burly, ignorant, disrespectful freshmen. and to make matters worse? too many absences from spelldrive club leading to the first practice of the new year being cancelled.

so instead of zipping through the skies on his broom throwing magic spells and practicing his coordination, ruggie drags his feet through the savanaclaw mirror up before heading straight for his dorm room—

"ruggie? you're back early. what happened to spelldrive practice?"

what's the prefect doing here? he thought they'd be off with the two heartslabyul numbskulls chasing after grim or something.

dodging their question, he asked them, "to what do i owe the ramshackle prefect's presence? shouldn't you be burning the queen of hearts statue or chasing after the three stooges and their clumsily-thrown spells? shishishishi!"

they huffed, flopping down onto ruggie's bed returning to their pushed-aside notes.

reading the room, the hyena ran a shaky hand through his sandy hair. he grumbled and shuffled over to their side, "okay. okay. if you must know, leona-san cancelled practice today because some of the beastfolk ran into some trouble with the mirror and haven't made it back to nrc yet." grim's babysitter gave him the side eye making him squirm. he wasn't used to spilling his guts but considering all the help they gave him with chores and school.... he supposed it was all enough to return the favor. ".....and i couldn't finish leona-san's laundry today. sam was out of stock for once of the cheap stuff. on the way back, i ran into some of the dumber beastfolk. could've made it out of there but they were bigger and stronger. one of them used a spell to cancel my unique magic and... well.... yeah...." he refused to look at the magicless student, knowing they stopped their studying to give him their full attention. "and i still have today's homework to do too." by now ruggie was pouting. even his ears were drooping.

they hated seeing him look so small. normally he's the one taunting them and teasing them. trying to pull them out of their funky mood, sleepy mood. constantly reassuring them that things'll work themselves out and to just keep plugging away at their problems until they do. "don't give up. my grandmother always said when someone closes one door, another will open up instead," he'd remind them.

so, instead of teasing ruggie or replying with some snarky comment, the head of ramshackle dorm reached over and gave ruggie's cheeks a good pinch. softly, they said, "laugh with me." they watched his eyes go wide, his ears shoot straight up. ignoring his babblings and a barely comprehensible "what are you doing?" they continued. "you're the one always telling me that each day is completely different from each other and unpredictable. why should today and tomorrow be any different?"

letting go of his cheeks, they sat up and leaned over the beastman's bed into their bag. "i was gonna save these for the next time i had to bribe you or leona." ruggie's ears and nose twitched. "but i think we both need them now. don't you think so? i also have a few hot cocoa mix packets here that i sneaked out of the heartslabyul dorm kitchens. what do you say we go downstairs and make ourselves a cup of cocoa to have with these donuts?"

"i knew making those deals with you in the fall were a good idea, cub!" he softly snickered to himself still too drained to laugh properly. "let's go..... after we cuddle and you spill why you're so glum too. shishishi!" ruggie stood up and tackled his favorite cuddle buddy onto his bed after taking and putting down their box of donuts.

Finished book 2 so got Ruggie on the mind. How about sharing lunch with him? Figure he spent most of his day running errands and for leona and maybe had spell drive pratice. so cue his gn partner sharing food and maybe giving head pats.

ꕤ Notes: This was such a cute request- 😭 and sorry if it’s a little short, i don’t want to keep repeating the same things so i tried to stay focused and simple lol

! Word count: 460 (i think)

“Oh come on! Leona's old enough to take care of himself for a couple of hours." You said, picnic basket in hand.

You see, you and Ruggie haven't exactly had alot of time to yourselves. You've had many exams this week, as well as club meets and practices. And your normal lunch breaks were normally cut short due to your lovely idiotic friends.

You love them, but they can be a bit much, especially during lunch.

But besides that, you wanted to spend soe quality time with your boyfriend, is that so much to ask? SO you had it all planned out. Sure it took bribing Grimm, and a couple contracts with Azul, and threatening the Savanaclaw dorm, and maybe sorta kinda putting a extra bit of a calming agent in some of Leona's food so he'll go straight to sleep afterwards, but it was worth it.

And nobody's gotten hurt so you're all good.

Plus, you're sure that Ruggie also needs a break. He's been running around all day chasing after Leona and grabbing him things, as well as causing his own chaos. A little break wouldn't hurt, would it?

Thats what you told him to try to convince him.

"Please, babe?"

His tired face gave you his signature smile as he gave out a laugh, "Sure thing, y/n!" His face was still bright, even with noticeable eye bags beneath his eyes.

He linked his arm with yours as you both made your way to the botanic garden. Normally no one was there at this hour, and Leona was asleep in his room so it would be peaceful.

"Ah! Ruggie slow down you're gonna choke!" You scolded, unable to stay mad at him for long. Ruggie was gulping down food faster than your eyes could keep up to see.

"Sorry y/n, but your cooking’s amazing!"

"I can't take all the credit, Trey helped me out too."

"Thanks to all the chefs!" He grinned.

You leaned your back against the tree behind you, closing your eyes as you took a deep breathe, enjoying the calm. Ruggie, with food still in his mouth took the moment to lay his head on your lap, "Thank you, y/n... I really need this- ACK."

"Ruggie! Don't talk with food in your mouth you idiot! Especially while lying down!" You reached for some water to hand to him, Ruggie shook his head and chugged it.

"Ahhhh."

"You idiot..." You sighed, a smile quickly taking over, as you lowered his head back onto your lap, placing the water beside you. Ruggie let out a sigh of content as you began to run your hands through his hair scratching behind his ears.

"...Thank you... Again... y/n..." And with that, he dozed off.

Roses are Red, Violets are blue – Riddle Discovered Romance Exists and that He’s in Love Too~

**Note: Anon, I’m so sorry for taking so long to write this ㅠoㅠ I really like Riddle as he’s in my top 5 list of characters like, so I hope I did him justice OTL

HC of Riddle x Reader

· When Riddle first meets you at the welcome ceremony, already from the first glance, he was 100.31415% sure that he didn’t like you

· You were a trouble maker, chaos-maker, a person who likes to wreck-havoc. In other words, something Riddle absolutely despised – a rule breaker

· He was expecting, ok-hoping for you to not be accepted as an NRC student by the headmaster. Not only were you a rule breaker, you couldn’t even use magic. It wouldn’t make sense for you to be accepted

· When he sees you sitting at lunch with Ace, it proved to him 2 things. 1. You just further proved to him that you were someone he doesn’t want to get close with and 2. The headmaster is as brainless as ever

· He doesn’t expect to see you come with Ace to deliver a marron tart on the day of the Unbirthday Party

· Despite how he had reacted, he felt touch that you had come to deliver a tart for him. Yet, rules are law

· It took everything in him to not flinch when he hears a passing comment from Cater how you and the other 3 trouble makers even had to pick fresh chestnuts to make it. To think someone who wasn’t even in his own dorm decided to help out to make a tart for him…

· But the feeling of guilt disappears when you, someone magicless, calls him stupid for following the rules! The nerve you had for saying that he was stupid for following the rules that the Queen of Hearts made!

· He usually didn’t discipline anyone outside the dorm of Heartslabyul unless it was something he witnessed and in regards to the general NRC school rule. He made an exception though when you refused to say “Yes, Dorm Leader”

· You were in Heartslabyul and as the saying goes, “In Rome, do what the Romans do”. Through his anger, he’s still able to rational think how unreasonable he was being to apply his magic on someone magicless

· For the rest of the day, the memory replays in his head of how he, for the first time in his whole life, hesitated casting magic on someone. It didn’t help that the feeling of his hand shaking didn’t disappear

· When you appear the next day for the duel, he suddenly felt self-conscious. He didn’t know why, but every time he was in front of you, he suddenly had the urge to look proper to you

· He wanted to show you how much pride he takes in being the perfect honor student as well as nearly coming close to having the perfect image of the Queen of Hearts, herself

· …Yes. Riddle, at the time, was wanting to look cool in front of you

· The shame and deep embarrassment he faces when Ace punched him and calls him a baby in front of you of all people…The person he wanted to impress and gain acknowledgement from. And it didn’t help that everyone else didn’t think that was enough before an egg hits him on the head

· After he OBs, he wakes up lying in your lap though he doesn’t notice as he continues to feel that the world was spinning

· What he does notice was you hugging him as he cries from guilt, stress, and everything he held inside while patting his head. He refuses to admit that it comforted him, though it causes him to cry harder as he never once was given affection before

· During the time he was recovering, when Trey and Cater tells him how you were the one that proposed to save him as soon as he OBed, his eyes turned soft from again, being touched, guilty, and confusion

· He didn’t understand why you had chosen to help him. He knew that his first impression on you was not impressive at all. Yet you saved him

· On Ace’s birthday, he has fun painting the roses with everyone while getting some sort of redemption on trying to look good in front of you

· But, when he gave everyone his failed tarts, he wanted to dig a hole and get in it. He’s finally able to make himself look good and it’s none other than himself that ruins it in no less than an hour. Someone, please, help him

· Seeing you continue to eat the failed tart, he tries to stop you. But jokes on him, when you tell him how the tart was something he made for everyone, which made it still delicious, he blushes

· He only turns redder when he catches a certain Heartslabyul group talking behind his back

· Ace: Oh my gosh, I think our Ryocho has a crush on the Prefect Deuce: What? No wa-actually, it really does seem like it, huh Grim: That’s unacceptable! I don’t want Y/N to date a guy like that! That would mean I won’t get as many tuna cans compared to now! Cater: Uuuuhhhhh, you guys should quiet down or else-

· Riddle makes sure to punish them by lecturing them for 3 hours about respecting their seniors

· He nearly uses his Unique Magic again when Ace points out how his height makes him look like a middle schooler

· A few days later, when he sees you checking up on Trey because of his injury, Riddle felt touched from it

· It made him happy and help the guilt inside him lessen seeing that there were many people that cared for his friend. Especially, from you

· When he hears you were investigating about the incidents that were happening, he starts wanting to help you. Other than the reason of trying to find the person who used their magic on him and caused Trey to get injured, he didn’t want to lose the opportunity to get closer to you

· It seemed like fate was against him though when he gets embarrassed by Floyd as he gets called by that cursed nickname and then had to run away from the eel twins

· However, the fact that he was able to spend his day with you made him happy nonetheless

· He doesn’t realize this but he starts to become more conscious about you – taking note of how you wear your uniform, hold your bag, etc

· Listen, he’s more conscious because he acknowledges you as a fellow dorm leader that’s all! It’s totally not because he actually likes you!

· Yeah, that’s why he fixes your tie and gives you the advice about keeping appearance! Because as fellow dorm leaders, they were the ones to set the image of being proper honor students in NRC! That’s. All!

· He starts questioning if everything he did in the past is coming to bite him back now when he tries to catch Ruggie but ends up getting his pen stolen.

· Was it too much to ask of him to look cool in front of you once? Once?

· Cater: Riddle… I know you’re trying to look cool in front of Y/N but.. Riddle: But what? Cater: …Nothing

· Cater didn’t want to face Riddle’s wrath like how Ace and Deuce did. He’s a wise man

· He feels this again but this time with veins popping on his head when he finally gets Jack to agree to his plan and make it work only to lead to Leona to OB

· He never has ever felt the urge to just crouch down while covering his face with his hands until now

· When he sees Leona attacking everyone, all thoughts disappear as his worry for everyone’s safety, especially yours becomes his priority

· He wanted to tell you to run away, go somewhere safe. But he doesn’t because he knows you’ll end up staying to save everyone

· And this cycle repeats. When he finds out how you made a deal with Azul and the latest being you getting kidnapped at Scarabia, he wants to yell at you

· He worries, he panics over your wellbeing. But what’s worse was that he can’t even tell you because he knows he isn’t any position to say so

· The frustration that builds up in him leads him to take it out on anyone who annoys him, especially on those who gives him the biggest headache cough Ace and Deuce cough

· It doesn’t help that he doesn’t understands why he worries about you

· You always break the rules, get in trouble, and try to save others nonstop. You put yourself in danger for the sake of other’s when no one is willing to do that for you

· Ever since you extended your hand towards him, all he’s been wanting was to show you the better side of him – to get you to become closer to him

· BUT! EVERY! SINGLE! TIME! He tries getting closer to you, he was blocked

· Fairy Gala – misses the opportunity to see you in your gorgeous outfit - He ends up getting a picture of you in it (it totally wasn’t a bribe from Idia, who was trying to get out of a dorm leader meeting. He was just following the school rules of confiscating all pictures that weren’t allowed to be taken in the school. That’s all)

· Bean’s Day – Didn’t know the two of you were on the same team - He screamed into his pillow that night when he found about it. You literally were on the same team as him so he had a full, bloody chance to hang out with you. Alone. Just the two of you. Curse Jack and Azul for catching him. He’ll get back at them. He swears on the Queen of Hearts name he will.

· Things worsen for him as he starts having the urge to hold your hand or want to get to know you. Do you like tarts just like he does? Were your hands soft just like how they look? Do you like to tie your tie in a bow like him or do the traditional Windsor?

· Did he ever mentioned that he wanted to go “Off with Your Head” on Crowley and Floyd? No? Oh well, he does. And he will. Especially after what happened during that “weird ghost princess’s” marriage

· He would like to say that he’s not short. He’s smart, considerate, knows what to do and not to do – height shouldn’t matter it’s the quality that does

· He’s not self-cautious about his height. Nor is he worried about how well he fits into the “ideal” prince aka ideal marriage partner

· He just wants to show that he’s capable of being a romantic partner! Because as dorm leader, he has an image to uphold especially since he’s closest to the Queen of Hearts!

· In the end though, all of that turns out to be excuses. He realizes how much he enjoys your presence - how much he likes talking to you, hanging around you, getting to enjoy things without feeling judged or afraid of breaking rules

· He feels like himself, his trues self, when he’s around you

· And after listening to what Ace said to Eliza (yes, he remembers her name), he realizes that he sees you as someone like that

· Realizing that he actually fell for you, his heart speeds up and his face reddens when you come up to him to congratulate him on the success

· He knows that he doesn’t tell you now, he won’t ever have the chance to tell you. Especially since apparently, people like to block him from evening getting an inch closer to you

· After looking down and seeing the bouquet in his hands still in good condition, he sends Cater off before he starts taking you towards Sam’s shop

· He ignores your questions, before he stops right in front of the shop

· His heart speeds up and nervousness washes over him. But he steels his resolve after thinking about how he’ll never have another chance

· Getting on a knee, he places a right hand on his heart while offering the bouquet with his left

· He confesses how ever since you helped him when he OBed, he started to have feelings for you. He never thought about it at first, but overtime the feelings started to grow despite him not realizing it. And today, he realized he fell for you

· He talks about how he’s never experienced what it’s like to confess and love someone. Yet he promises you on his own name as well as the Queen of Heart’s name that he will devote his entire being to you – never lying nor betraying your heart

· He says the he understands if you can’t accept being his, however, if only you acknowledge his feelings for him – at least be aware, he’s satisfied

· Or would’ve if it weren’t for the fact that half way through, he’s suddenly pulled up towards you

· His eyes widen as he feels your lips on his, actually k-k-kissing him

· Once the two of you broke away, he looks at you in a daze, not understanding what had happened until he hears you saying that he didn’t have the right to make decisions for you and that you liked him back

· He blushes to the point his face rivals the color of his hair before he drags you into another kiss out of happiness and absolute love

· He’s about to say he loves you before he hears something behind the bushes

· Deuce: OH MY GREAT SEVENS – RIDDLE RYOCHO ACTUALLY Ace: SHHHHHH YOU’RE GOING TO GET US IN TROUBLE! Although, I have to say, I didn’t think Ryocho had it in him to actually confess Grim: NOOOO MY CANS OF TUNE Cater: whistles Wow~ Riddle and Y/N is a thing then~

· He makes a mental note to give them punishment as he gets kissed again by you, happily returning it

Mari In Twisted Wonderland | Abridged Version | Savanaclaw

Chapter 2

Days after the Overblot Incident and Revenge Unbirthday Party, Mari gets another dream and this time it’s about the furries-- I mean, animals. She didn’t really get what it meant.

Lunch happened and Ruggie stole Grim’s lunch. Mari was confused but then they were called to the Headmaster’s office so she couldn’t question it.

Crowley explained shit to the shared brain cell trio and Mari. Blah blah blah. Grim got upset that he can’t play magift and show off. Mari rationalized with him that he won’t be able to show off if he’s only a beginner and that she’ll treat him to canned tuna to cheer him up. He seemed to be having a terrible day, getting his lunch stolen and then being told he can’t participate in a sports event.

She asked Crowley if he was searching for a way home but quickly realizes that he didn’t seem to be doing it. Though, she didn’t really say anything about it since the demon brothers were probably looking for a way to get her back.

Then they got back to their dorms later but Crowley came to visit and explained that students were getting injured and shit was real sus since there were a lot of them. Grim told him that he didn’t want to help but he pretty much just forced them by saying the Ramshackle Dorm wasn’t free. He also bribed Grim by saying he’d let him participate in the magift tournament. Though, Mari was aware that he was lying through his teeth. However, she said nothing since she didn’t want to break Grim’s spirit again. Plus, she was going to help regardless of the situation. Might as well be helpful while she’s stuck in there.

So the investigation started. They looked in the infirmary and Mari noticed that there were no Savanaclaw students that were injured but figured that maybe the culprit hasn’t got to them yet. Then they interrogated two injured students from Heartslabyul and they didn’t get any helpful answers so they tried looking for more clues. Only to fail and go back to the Ramshackle Dorm.

Ace visited and they explained the situation to him. But then Deuce ran in and yelled about how Trey got injured too. So they ran to the Heartslabyul dorm and saw him.

Mari was genuinely proud of Grim for being nice enough to give Trey the can of tuna she bought for him earlier in order to cheer him up.

Riddle came by to check on Trey and then explained how he got injured. Then Cater pulled everyone excluding Trey to a different room and let Mari tell them about the other injured students.

So, the Heartslabyul gang + Grim and Mari went to investigate together and saw the Pomefiore Dorm, which was probably Mari’s favorite dorm so far. It was certainly pretty.

And now for Mari’s first impression of Rook: “Dang he kinda hot”

Rook will remember that

Then the rest of the gang decided that he didn’t look strong enough so the culprit probably wouldn’t wanna target him, then went on to Octavinelle to see the tweels.

First impression of the tweels as she and the rest ran for their dear lives: “Jesus fuck they’re creepy”

They escaped and Mari finally remembered what she noticed about the injured students again. “Savanaclaw might be the next targets since there weren’t any injured students from there”

So they got to the Savanaclaw Dorm and met Jack. She was like “oh you’re the hot furry” and he was like “excuse me?” Then he tells them that he won’t be targetted and that they should fuck off.

Then they got in trouble with Savanaclaw delinquents and Leona and Ruggie came. Leona recognized Mari as the herbivore that stepped on his tail. The delinquents get angry but he still drinks respecc women juice and just challenges the gang to magift. Since Mari had no magic, she had to sit this one out.

She goes home and sleeps, but then realizes she can’t and decides to have a midnight walk because she hasn’t seen enough horror movies to know that’s not the best idea. Then she meets Malleus. Probably thinks he’s the hottest guy she’s seen in NRC besides Leona and Jamil.

“Oh, you are a child of man” “And you’re a man with horns”

She isn’t particularly intimidated by him. Like— She’s met Lucifer and has been nearly killed by him twice. Some strange dude with horns got nothin’ on him. Mari asked who he is and he seemed to be surprised by that, then he smirked.

Dude said it would be better if she didn’t know and let her call him whatever she wanted. She was like “Aight” then he left.

Mari goes to sleep and has another dream. She wonders why she’s having another dream about animals and why does the lion look familiar. Then she woke up, wondering what it meant. Barbatos was rather vague when he gave her his parting gift.

On the way to school with Grim, she told him about the Tall handsome dude with horns. He dubbed him “Tsunotarou”. She liked the name a lot and decided to use it.

They meet up with Cater and Riddle, who tell them that Jamil got injured. So they go meet him.

‘Ah fuck his voice is hot too’ Mari thought when she met him. It seemed that she was right about Kalim, he was quite friendly.

So they finally found out about Ruggie but couldn’t catch him. Then Jack appeared again. He’s like “Why are you working so hard for other people’s sake?”

Ace is like “Lmao we just wanna get picked for the magift tournament and show off. We don’t give a shit about these guys.”

Mari sighed and said, “Why is literally everyone in this school so selfish?” And Jack questions her as to her reason for doing it. Then she replies with “Well-- Crowley kinda said that living in the Ramshackle Dorm wasn’t free. Though, he didn’t really have to force me since I would’ve helped regardless because I just like feeling helpful.”

Then Jack told the shared braincell trio that they’re worse than he thought. Though, he also mentioned that he didn’t trust Mari’s type. As in, “Guys that just do things for others”

Ace was like “no u”

Then Jack was like “Fight me bitch. If you want me to spill my guts, you gotta defeat me”

Deuce went bad boy like “fuck yeah lets go dude” and they fight

And they win. The rest of the guys are surprised that Mari knows how to fight. She’s like “The Future King of Hell taught me martial arts for like a year” and they’re not sure whether she’s being serious or if she’s crazy.

And then Jack went into this whole spiel about how cowardly tricks make him nauseous and how he wanted to use his own power to claim victory at the top. Then he finally spills the beans on what Ruggie’s unique magic is and how Savanaclaw is in on the plan.

“Why would they?” “How well you do in the magift tournament can have a big impact on your future, right? So I can’t say I don’t understand their feelings”

“GRRRRRRRRRRRR”

Mari is like “Dude, chill. Understanding someone doesn’t mean you agree with them.”

Jack replied with “The now comes before the future! Show what you can do now!”

Then goes onto yet another spiel about how he can’t stand Leona and how that guy is amazing but never gives his full effort.

Ace whispers to Mari like “Damn he tsundere for his own dorm leader”

And Jack tells them that Savanaclaw is going to target the dorm leader of Diasomnia, Malleus Draconia during the day of the magift tournament.

Riddle and Cater come by like “Lol thanks for telling us” Then Riddle was going to tell them the plan but Jack was like “bitch im not gonna help. Im gonna do this shit myself. Bye”

Mari countered with “What have you accomplished on your own?”

He’s just >:(

“Smart wolves hunt as a pack” “Ugh fine. But if your plan sucks, I’m leaving.”

So after hearing Riddle out, he’s like “Aight I’ll help.”

Everyone came to an agreement and went to their respective dorms. Mari has another dream, then thought “Bruh he really wanted to be king then when he became king, he didn’t even do it right.”

“Oi, wake up.”

Mari felt someone shake her awake. She groaned and swatted away the hands, wanting to sleep more. It didn’t quite register in her mind that someone broke into her room. It was only until her blanket was tugged away from her. The cool air hit her bare body. She shuddered and her eyes finally fluttered open to see Jack with a flustered expression before he threw the blanket over her body.

“WHY THE HELL ARE YOU NAKED?!”

“WHY ARE YOU IN MY ROOM?!”

“Tch.” He looked away and rubbed his neck. “I came from my morning run to wake you up early. I couldn’t let you oversleep on the day of the tournament. S-Sorry for breaking into your room…”

For the rest of that morning, Jack couldn’t look at her directly. When he did, images of that embarrassing situation all came back to his mind

So they got to the stadium. Shit hit the fan but everything was fine because Heartslabyul revealed their plan. Diasomnia is perfectly alright.

Leona got pissed and he revealed his unique magic. Sand is everywhere. He’s trying to kill Ruggie.

Jack also revealed his unique magic and turned into a full furry-- I mean, wolf. This surprised Leona, which gave Riddle the opportunity to collar him.

Hearing Leona yell about agony and despair and that things will never change kinda made Mari’s heart hurt because it felt… familiar. How hopeless he seemed to feel. It reminded her of how she was before coming to the Devildom.

Then he overblotted.

Then they beat the sit out of him. Mari is like “Does this usually happen?”

So the magift tournament went on and Savanaclaw still got to play because the injured students wanted revenge. Grim also reminded Crowley about his reward so he was allowed to play against Savanaclaw.

Grim did an oopsie and tried to do a special move but it backfired and hit Mari in the head instead. She had to be rushed to the infirmary.

She woke up to see the shared braincell trio and the furry boys. Ace told her that she’s been asleep for so long that the closing ceremony was over and they’re dismantling the venue.

Leona told her that Diasomnia was the champion.

Ace and Deuce talked about how good Malleus was for a moment. Jack was like “No one can win if they give up before they try.” Mari agreed with him. He then said that he was going to beat Diasomnia fair and square next year.

Leona was like ““Underhanded tactics” require one’s strength too” and she asked if he even felt bad. He was just like lmao no

A wild Babie has appeared. Leona went >:0 but introduced Cheka to them.

Mari squealed at the sight of such an adorable child. Internally she was saying “I’ve seen Cheka for 4 seconds but if anything were ever to happen to him, I’d kill everyone in this room and then myself.”

Jack: So the root of all Leona’s pain is…

Mari: The cutest lil angel ever!

Cheka: Are you guys my uncle’s friends?

Everyone else laughed at Leona except Mari who was busy introducing herself to the lil babie.

Timeskip to when Mari went to sleep and saw the creepy shadow in the mirror. She’s lowkey shook but then she woke up. Seeing the time was pretty early in the morning, she decided to have a lil stroll to see the sun rise.

She found a good spot and sat down, singing lightly to herself.

The sound of leaves being crushed under one’s feet reached her ears from behind her. Mari didn’t bother looking up at the source, being too enamored with seeing the sky as its hues morph from navy to a golden yellow. The dark clouds turned into tangerine and peach ones. She gave a dreamy sigh.

“Oi, Mari.” She heard the gruff voice of Jack. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh you know, just… Watching that gorgeous sunrise. I’ve lived in a land with no sun for a year so seeing it like this is quite the blessing,” She responded, still not looking up.

“Seriously? I’ve never heard of a place like that.” Jack sat beside her.

“Yeah. Living in Hell was quite the experience but it was fun.” Mari chuckled lightly.

Her words caused him to furrow his eyebrows, wondering if she was kidding or not. He shook his head, deciding that it wasn’t important. He turned to her.

“So… about that time…”

“Hm? What time?” Mari finally looked at him, confusion swirling in her pools of chocolate. She tilted her head.

His face felt warm as the blood rose to his tanned cheeks. “Y-You know what I’m talking about!”

Upon seeing his flustered expression, she finally remembered what he meant. Her mouth formed an ‘o’. What could he possibly gain from bringing that up now?

“I wanted to apologize properly…” He spoke up again, rubbing the back of his neck. “I shouldn’t have violated your privacy like that and broke into your room.” He finally had the courage to look back into her eyes. Golden hues meeting chocolate.

“How can I make it up to you?”

Mari saw this opportunity and a smirk crept up onto her lips. “You could make it up to me by letting me pet you.”

He yelped and his eyes widened to the size of saucers. His ears stood erect. “Wh-What?!”

She pouted. “I thought you wanted to make it up to me? This is the least I could ask for after you broke into my room and saw me naked!”

“Okay! Okay! Just don’t yell or someone’s gonna hear you.”

Mari stopped and looked at him with expectations glinting in her eyes.

He leaned downward. His head was lowered and ears curled back, anticipating her touch.

She grinned and laid her hand over his head, caressing it tenderly. “Oh my~ Your hair is quite soft. I see that you groom yourself well, Jack. How nice~” She cooed, continuing to pet him with such pure glee swimming in her chocolate eyes. “How are you liking this? Does it feel nice~?”

“Tch… Just because I’m letting you do this, doesn’t mean I like it,” He told her.

“But your tail is wagging.” She pointed out. Blood spurted to his face and he pulled away.

“Alright, that’s enough!” He exclaimed to her, trying not to show her that he was flustered. “We’re going to be late for school if we don’t hurry.”

Mari glanced at the sun and nodded. “Oh! You’re right. I’ll go wake up Grim and head to class. Thanks again, Jack.”

“Don’t expect me to let you do that again. We’re not friends or anything.” He walked away from her.

A smile graced her lips as she watched him leave with a mirthful gaze. “Alright,” she whispered and made her way to the Ramshackle Dorm.
