the way that people underestimate disabled people. Barbara Gordon as Oracle was the best era. Her disability did not stop her from being badass. She deserves to keep being oracle. It showed how strong she is as a person. To find a way to keep protecting her city. To still be able to fight from her wheelchair. To prove so many people wrong and keep living life.
The stupid storyline of implanting a chip in her spine was out of character. And I know "if you were given the option to have your mobilty back won't you pick it." That's a hard question to answer personally as a wheelchair user. But Barbara never need to be Batgirl again. She was past that part in her life, it was so unnecessary. And beyond ableist to do.
Being disabled does not make a person powerless, in most cases. As a wheelchair user, and even before that a cane user it hurts like DC refuses to see us as human beings anymore. We are not powerless, we do not need to be "cured". Living with a disability is hard, but it's not less of a life.

Given that Tom King is gonna tarnish Wondy, here's my 3 things that I will always hope for in anything Wonder Woman (though the game is my only real chance it seems... and it has the Nemesis system...)
1. Keep fights to a minimum.
Wonder Woman is a fucking pacifist. Fighting things should be a last resort. Should she be able to lay a motherfucker out? Absolutely. Have her flatten Superman once or twice. But don't have her go immediately to combat save for a handful of opponents. The thing that makes Diana a hero is her heart, not her boots to the head. Peace, not war. She is a literal UN Ambassador. Let her do some goddamn diplomacy.
2. Her only weapon should be the lasso.
The sword is one of the most controversial parts of Wonder Woman's modern design philosophy. On the one hand, Amazons are warriors. Warriors for peace, but still warriors. Being familiar with all manner of weapons makes really good sense, especially if you are defending yourself. But on the other, knowing how to use a weapon doesn't mean you need to use one. If Batman can know how to use a gun but refuse to, Wonder Woman should be the same. The Lasso is the only exception because it helps with peaceful resolutions, AND it is a way more interesting weapon than a super sharp sword. The shield I am on the fence on, but if it stays it needs to be more interesting. As for the sword? I am team "ditch the sword".
And finally:
3. Don't have Diana kill.
Diana killing Maxwell Lord should not have happened. But, supposing the original idea (to my knowledge) which is that it was an extraordinary circumstance that leads to a one and done, then okay. As long as Diana feels the weight of that. Her taking a life should be a big deal, not something for her to brag to Batman about. If I were to ever write Diana, I'd make damn sure that killing enemies is literally last resort. They die or the world Blows up. And Diana would need to feel the weight of that.
Sorry for the meta post. Thought about this all day.

Waiting for the second part of this season has been one of the worse experiences of my life. I just wanna be released from all things dc! They seem to only be full of disappointment and regret when it comes to making good things.

fuck the b*tfam and fuck dc
bcoz how do you have all these iconic characters (especially the ladies) yet you give freaking BATMAN thousands of ongoings and don’t give the other characters shit unless it’s related to the b*tfam
that’s why they’ll always be second sellers to marvel idc

my favorite thing in Justice League fics is when a character fucks up so badly that their only option is to go talk to Batman. And they still — still — take a moment to figure out how desperate they are before going.
Bruce has such “don’t bother me, I’m working, also why the hell would you do that” disapproving dad energy. It’s stunning.

What I love about Jason Todd is that he's angry about his trauma. Life fucked him over and he's rightfully pissed off. We already have "healed from their anger" Dick Grayson and "ignores their emotions" Bruce Wayne. Thank you DC for giving us "hurt and upset and lashing out" Jason Todd.

on my Barbara Gordon shit again.
DC needs to hire disabled writers for her
they do realize that a standard wheelchair is dangerous for someone with a spinal injury to use right???
Bab's would be such a good mayor for Gotham. Barbara Gordon for mayor.
What tf was with her making a joke about getting fridged in that one comic
Green is her color, that's all
Her og Batgirl suit was the only good one she's had
Stop trying to make her Batgirl again she is a grown woman, who is far past thst part in her life
DC does realize how important she is for disabled rep right? Looks like they don't twith that whole spinal chip plot.
I feel like she could be a novelist

Stephanie, clearly upset: I just spent $30 at the grocery store and all I got was eggs, mayonnaise, fruit, and pop.
Tim: Oh so prices have gone down, that’s good.
Stephanie: …. I really hate you sometimes, Tim. Really hate you.
Tim: Isn’t $30 for all that cheap?
Stephanie, calling Jason: I need an immediate extraction I’m about to kill Tim.
Jason: … And you need the extraction, why?

Talia introduced Damian to Bruce as "their second child", and now Bruce is mentally panicking because there's another one, somewhere, when this unspoken first child is Jason.

I truly think that Bruce would protect his kids with his life from the media/paparazzi. Like when he first adopted Dick all articles surrounding him and his parents death vanished. Or how he played up his Brucie performance when Damian first went to a WE gala because he’s never had to deal with the press before. And I KNOW it killed him when Jason’s death was announced but that was the one thing they couldn’t keep from the media.
One day, pre-identity reveal, Clark goes to a charity gala and asks a young Tim drake and Cassandra Cain about their opinions on the subject. A BUNCH of reporters are giving him looks but Clark can’t tell what for. Until Bruce Wayne walks up to with a stone cold expression. But Clark was perfectly polite and Tim and Cass tell Bruce they actually enjoyed expressing their opinions. The next day in the Planet their words weren’t twisted. And now whenever article comes out about the Waynes(still a rare occurrence but it’s something) it’s written by a certain Clark Kent.
