Isn't it kind of strange for someone who's Jewish, who's ancestors were violently and horrendously oppressed by the Nazis, to now become a celebrator for the Zionist party, a party that doesn't even actually represent Judaism and uses the imagery to gain Jewish sympathies, and welcome the exact same sort of atrocities being done unto the Palestinians?

Zionism isn't a "party," it's a belief shared by about 90% of all Jews. Support for Zionism is about as representative of Jews as support for Barack Obama is for African-Americans, and far moreso than support for legal abortion is among women.

And if you see the "exact same atrocities", let's swap!

Now the JEWS have to walk from Israel directly into adjacent countries that were also named "Israel" 25 years earlier, and their population quadruples in 40 years. And the PALESTINIANS have 30% of their population murdered within 5 years, they disappear altogether from about 40 countries, and their numbers never ever recover.

Mercurial Systems & Front Batteries

A mercurial system describes a system structure that involved the concept of front batteries.

Front batteries can be defined as a phenomenon within fronting where one will experience a high activity front followed by a low activity front. (Explained below)

A high activity front is characterized by increased numbers in front at once, a higher frequency of switches, the introduction of the ability to hold front on ones own (for members unable to during low activity), an increase in "unprompted" or triggerless fronts, and often increased system growth.

A low activity front is distinguished by the limiting of fronters to a much smaller group, a significant decrease in switch frequency, and often issues involving an individual's ability to stay present in front. This can be compared to periods of stagnation within other terms.

This concept is distinct from bombotien systems, cyclogenic systems, and other terms that involve cycles in that it does not require cycles of dormancy, system collapse, or other similar phenomena.

How body language ??? I was with friends and fromting, and i wanna come accross as different, but idk what to say or move, bc i dont wanna seem same as host im not host i want to be different but i dont know how so im nervous

I totally get that, it can feel REALLY awkward at first cuz all the body's working with muscle memory wise is your host's mannerisms. But like everything else you'll end up diverging over time and getting used to being yourself! Like, I've been writing more lately, and I can notice my handwriting slowly changing to be different and more "me". If you're just at a loss for what to do with the body, maybe try paying attention to how you position urself & move in headspace, and adjust to that intentionally w/the body? Habits don't form without doing it a lot after all. Something else that made me feel pretty separate when first fronting was finding a way to make my voice sound more my own. It's nice to hear something at least different from the host's normal voice coming outta ur mouth

I think that people mistake that they're front stuck for not having visible switches?? Especially if your switching amnesia doesn't register.

Like. You could think you're front stuck all the time because your switches are very subtle and you have an uninterrupted stream of consciousness.

I always thought that I was in the driver's seat, and it didn't make sense to me that my switches didn't work like that. And sure, I did have very noticeable switches sometimes, especially when I was stressed. But it was weird that I just was always "me".

I've come to learn that I often don't see myself as a different person when most alters front, I am them but it's disorienting.

So, likely you may not always be frontstuck if you feel like you are most of the time.

Questions for others with DID/OSDD:

Is it wrong of me to wish I wasn't the host sometimes?

Or wish that my brain would finally send me into the headspace for a few months?

Is it okay to feel useless as the host?

I feel like I could just relax in the headspace for like..a month and be like totally fine coming back out to front without stress.

There are other alters that are way more prepared to deal with stress than I am, and yet I have to bear it before they can take it from me.

If one of my gatekeepers were to come up for an extended period of time they would have everything so well put together.

DID ALTER EXPLAINS: FRONTING & SWITCHING

what do people with CDDs mean by the terms "front" & "switch"? are there different types of fronting & switching? how do these concepts present across the different types of CDDs? knowing the answers to these questions is important in developing an understanding of how complex dissociative disorders work at a core level. let's discuss!

WHAT IS FRONTING?

fronting, in those with CDDs, is the action of being conscious & aware of the outside world. to front is to have control over one's body. when an alter is not fronting, they may feel as if they have gone to sleep or have blacked out. this will vary from patient to patient.

an alter fronts when they are "front-triggered". this means that a reason must occur for an alter to become conscious & take executive control of one's body. sometimes, the reason may be as simple as the alter needing to carry on the functions of daily life; other times, an alter may be triggered out as a result of an emotional trigger, flashbacks, etc.

for some, multiple alters are able to front at the same time. this is called "co-fronting". there are more complex terms & experiences related to fronting, however only the basics will be covered today.

WHAT IS SWITCHING?

switching is to process wherein the fronting alter (or alters) leaves their position in control of the body, & another alter (or alters) take their place.

in some patients, alters leave & join front one-by-one, like a carousel. in others, multiple alters are able to front at once, & multiple can switch out or in. the experience of switching will differ from patient to patient.

switching commonly (however, not always) includes one or multiple of the following symptoms:

heightened dissociation.

headaches (due to the stress/tension) or migraines (in those who already suffer from migraines).

nausea or feelings of dizziness.

memory loss.

confusion (either in regards to yourself or your surroundings).

& more! for some, switching is effortless & fast; for others, switching may be rare & take multiple days. sometimes switching can be noticed by others; sometimes it can happen in complete secret. sometimes, not even the patient may notice that their alters have switched. it is very important to note that not all switches appear the same!

that concludes the key features regarding switching & fronting!
