ok but Foul Legacy with a blind reader
you like going out of the Harbor for walks, to get away from the hubbub of the city. you're quite adept at navigating the plains and mountains of Liyue, even if you can't see them, having lived in the nation of Geo your whole life, and it's on one of these excursions that you come across a stranger in the forest.
or rather, you hear a stranger's footsteps when you're stopping to rest. you turn your head in the direction of the noise and the footsteps, heavy and slow, pause. for a moment you simply stare in that general direction, then face forward again- if this person wanted to harm you, they would've already done so, and you go back to enjoying the peace and quiet. the footsteps approach again, then stop as the dry grass crackles and bends, presumably as the stranger sits down beside you to admire the view you can't see.
it becomes a bit of a routine, as the curious presence continues to return whenever you walk that route, inching closer to you every time you sit. it's comforting in a way, and you find yourself growing more and more used to this mysterious someone, whoever they are. on days without wind you can hear them breathing deeply, relaxing- almost basking- in your company. occasionally you hum a song, quiet and absentminded, and you swear you hear a growling croon from your new friend, but you're not frightened in the slightest.
one day, the creature- you're sure it's a creature now- dares to even rest their hand over yours, all armor and claws compared to your soft flesh, and you smile, giving their hand a quick squeeze of affection.
Foul Legacy nearly squeaks in delight when you- the one human who doesn't fear or hunt him- lace your fingers with his, and he settles next to you as usual, a soft, steady purr running through him from sheer joy.

William Afton rant(?)
The idea of William actually caring for his kids makes him a more compelling and realistic character in my eyes. I like the thought of William still being able to feel the loss of his children while being an utter monster. And in the scene where he stabs Vanessa he looks almost taken aback himself. As if processing what he had done before getting angry and going on to finish what he had started before.
It's not the fact that he seems to not care that makes him a terrifying villain, it's the idea that he can care, in his own twisted way he still cares for his kids. He is an unstable individual, an utter monster.. But one that you can see small parts of humanity left in him. He's human, and that's what makes him so terrifying. Not that he's an unfeeling monster that ruthlessly murders kids for the hell of it. But that he kills kids while also caring for his own.
A monster who at first killed without a goal in mind. But after a while he went on to use his killings to fix his family. To bring back what he had lost. He's terrified of death, terrified of what happens afterwards. He is doing everything in his power to stay alive forever, and to bring his family with him. Even though he's doing it in a selfish manner, he took their lives away because he was selfish, and so he will selfishly bring them back to rebuild the family he had torn apart.
What this also does is ties him back to Henry. he is the dark parallel to Henry, like how AFO is the dark parallel to All Might. They are two men who are both trying to bring back what they lost because one of them took it all away. It makes William more of a person than a stereotypical villain, which can be done right but to me just feels bland for his case. Characters can be evil because they are evil. They're just evil for the hell of it. And that can be written well.
But for William it's more interesting to see him be evil not just because he's an evil man, but because he's selfishly trying to bring back his family. He's doing it out of selfishness. But it shows that he does care, he isn't a good father. Not by a long shot. But he loves his kids, he just doesn't know how to express it. And he doesn't stop loving them no matter what, he just loves them in a different way.

Dancing with capybara, swimming with sharks
I know that a frequent tedious gripe of some fans is that they wanted to see Amai Mask showing his stuff in front of the other heroes. You know, punching monsters and reattaching bits of himself, and that sort of thing. Like we see below.
When it came to looking good in front of his peers, things did not go well for Amai Mask in the manga.
Coming back to how the manga differs from the webcomic, this last chapter has made me realise why Amai Mask couldn't be centred on the field like he was on the webcomic.
His not looking good has been a huge blessing in disguise. He'd be dead or in Metal Knight's monster holding cells. The heroes in the manga are seriously on the case of monsters masquerading as humans.
It’s not that the heroes in the webcomic are more stupid or less concerned with justice. However, they are very self-absorbed units. Like capybara. If it’s not a capybara issue, why should they take notice.
The heroes in the manga are not little self-absorbed units the way they were in the webcomic -- and they compare notes. It’s like swimming with sharks... safe until they change their perception of one into food or a threat. No way jose could he have been seen to do something like this and go unchallenged.
There’s no fault in Amai Mask’s strength in the manga. The casualness with which he lifts a large piece of reinforced concrete one-handed and tosses it away attests to that.
His regenerative abilities in the manga, are if anything, far more impressive. No clean cuts required! It just wasn’t his day for looking good.
As it is, Child Emperor might have seen him dismembered -- if he wasn’t entirely preoccupied with what happened to Zombieman -- but it looks like he's too ill at the moment to cause issues. He’ll get better though.
Amai Mask faces other threats. From Iaian and his fellow disciples smelling a rat and looking to start digging into his background. The destruction of the Council of Swordmasters and the consequent time Atomic will need to sort out their affairs will buy him some time, but it won’t last.
And, unbeknownst to him, Do-S is still alive... and very, very keen on blackmailing him.
The sharks are beginning to circle our shape-shifting hero. Right now, the scent of blood is very faint but the trail only leads one way.
The danger he’s in is real: we’ve seen how much stronger the S-Class heroes here are than their webcomic equivalents... and they’re on edge after the way things went down. He’s not unaware of it: he’s been looking for a hero to lead the way and he’s surely aware he needs to find that person fast. His words to Zombieman and Child Emperor carry an entirely different weight already.
Before it’s too late for him.

Number 6, for Hallowrove!
Okay this is the fun one I'd hoped someone would pick because the thing is it's happened so many times in canon already that there's just NO question about the answer
Hallowrove's List Of Who She'd Go To If Badly Injured, by preference:
- Fluorine Scaleflats, a Rubbery friend with a great skill and interest in Shapeling Arts who can be relied on to piece her back together in (mostly) (if asked nicely) the right order
- Haarsink, who also knows shapeling arts and can probably apply them in a much less biologically creative manner in a medical setting, but is second on the list because showing up bleeding at his place would stress him the hell out (ask me how I know lol)
- Oversol, who although being a deeply trusted safe place to go has no particular medical knowledge or skills and will probably just call a very expensive doctor and/or pick Hallowrove up and sprint her to a hospital, while being VERY stressed either way
Hallowrove's List Of Who He'd Go To If Badly Injured, by what inevitably actually ends up happening:
- Oversol
- Haarsink that one time
- But other than that it's always Oversol
- Good lord Hallowrove you are going to put this poor man into heart failure we have got to stop letting this happen so often -
