pov: the experienced of being let down by a friend

In the unpredictable rollercoaster of life, there are few blows as disheartening as the experience of being let down by a friend. It's like navigating a maze, thinking you've found a reliable companion to guide you through the twists and turns, only to realize they've left you stranded at a dead end.

Picture this: the sun is shining, birds are chirping, and life is humming along as usual. You and your friend have shared laughter, secrets, and countless memories. There's an unspoken pact of loyalty, an understanding that no matter what, you've got each other's backs. But then, out of the blue, the script flips, and the trust you once took for granted crumbles like a sandcastle swept away by the tide.

You wonder why I have chosen to keep my words. I did show them to you once, the wrecked little things. All glass shards and pebbles and broken keys to a locked door where they kept the light in me. But you just glanced at my hands and said that you’ve seen worse and that I’ll be fine. That was on a Tuesday. On a Monday, you told me that you’d always be there if I needed someone to talk to. On Wednesday, you expected me to heal. To self-repair. To glue all the pieces together after our quaint little chat.

You wonder why I avoid you now. Oh, fair-weather friend. Today, my forest is dark. The birds have lost their songs. The wind is bringing the miasma of all my bad choices in life, ghosts come to haunt me. My pool is a swamp. Do you dare to step in again? Be off and keep your distance.

The thing that gets people angry about CorpsInJune is their hypocrisy which indicates their insincerity. They only don the rainbow in countries where being gay is already accepted but they will never do any action no matter how small against countries where being gayIsIllegal. They never even donate to a charity that opposes gayBans in other countries. Either they should take a sincere moral position or they should be neutral about politics. CorpsAre FairweatherFriends only, no one likes that.

you know they donate to LGBT charities all the goddamn time, right?

why do you expect them to change the law in homophobic countries? you know they cannot possibly do that, right?

For historical purposes, the archivist in me decided to document my Facebook post on here and share it with those of you who may have missed it. Please note that this person and I never had a cross word between each other in 16 years. The first confrontation though and she cuts ties. If the friendship was so brittle and shallow that she couldn’t even stick around for an argument... let her be gone. She had literally obsessed and written about (an e-Book about to drop) finding a man, not wanting to be single, and searching the globe to get one. Now that she finally got her wish and is engaged, she feels fortified to turn her back on friends. I have sincerely prayed for that relationship to last because if history shows anything, she would be devastated and possibly, do something drastic if it were to fail. She’s never been one for handling pressure. Her delicate, privileged life (financially) has kept her sheltered from these sorts of matters.
