Matthew GoodE is having too much FUN on the set of FREUD’S LAST SESSION. He’s filming in the same location, Enniskerry, County Wicklow in Ireland, where he and Amy Adams shot LEAP YEAR (2010). Remember Declan and Anna fall asleep on the garden bench while waiting for the bus to Dublin. The shoot in Enniskerry lasted for 2 days (Mar 29 and 30) and some roads (and businesses) were closed off for them. One resident complains about not being able to go to his pub. He jokes about sacrificing himself for art. Haha!

Matthew (C. S. Lewis) has a new scene partner here. Does anyone know who the bearded actor with the scarf is? Meanwhile Anthony Hopkins (Sigmund Freud) had already finished his scenes last week, and is currently filming Peacock TV series THOSE ABOUT TO DIE in Italy.

@amadaans requested a short starter for EITHNE.

The tall stranger that enters Eithne's eclectic mix of bed and breakfast, cafe, store... so on and so on--she does not look to be from Enniskerry. Considering how small the village is, it is easy to tell when someone is not from the area, but Artemis' tanned complexion and sharp accent cements it.

She is investigating a lemon tart. This is after being puzzled by a boardgame, popping the little bubble repeatedly--Trouble, it was--and generally being a nuisance to patrons.

"You must be the owner," Artemis points out when she sees Eithne behind the counter. "I am not a thief, I promise. There are simply..." she trails off, pointedly looking around, "a lot of things here."

Unsurprisingly only 3 of these are native and all others come from regions of Asia

The Chinese Water Deer (CWD) and Muntjac are from China. The CWD originally came from Whipsnade Zoo and due to our vast wetland regions populations in the UK now make up over 10 percent of the world's population. These tiny odd looking deer have long tusks but no antlers on the flip side Muntjac males have tusks and short, usually single tined antlers. Unlike other deer Muntjac have no fixed breeding season so young can be found all year round. These dog sized deer dont cause damage to trees particularly but your cars maybe, unfortunately 25% of deer collisions are Muntjac. Theyre fairly successful despite this but have been recently listed as invasive

Sika are from Japan but are readily found up in Scotland where they can hybridize with our native Red Deer. Its possible that since one stag and three hinds were introduced that a huge percentage that all Sika in England and Scotland are descendents of those from Viscount Powerscourt’s deer park at Enniskerry, Eire (1860). Their antlers are smoother and paler than Reds with tines popping out at around a 45 degree angle. Whilst also known as the Spotted Deer, the Fallow is also spotted, along with 4 different coat patterns. Adorned with large palmate antlers theyre a sight to see, they did at one stage go extinct but were reintroduced from the East Mediterranean. They are considered naturalised at this stage

Reds and Roe are our only natives, Roes are smaller sized and Red the biggest of all Deer in the UK. Roe antlers only usually get 3 tines and weigh just 25kg they are most distributed in the UK. Reds can weigh up to 8 times that and are mostly found in Scotland but theres even pockets in South Staffs

Wild Boar secretly reintroduced in places but not legally, they were unfortunately hunted into extinction. These bristley beasties have cute stripey babies they will fiercely protect, thier tusks easily cause damage so during breeding season males develop thicker skin to help protect themselves

Ireland’s Vanishing Triangle

On March 26, 1993, 26-year-old native New Yorker Annie McCarrick went missing from Sandymount. She was last seen outside a post office in Enniskerry. Her parents arrived after being contacted by their daughter’s friends. The parents stayed in Ireland for six months while searching unsuccessfully for their daughter.

On July 25, 1993, 39-year-old Eva Brennan left her parents’ house in Rathgar but never made it back to her apartment. After two days of not hearing from his daughter, her father went to investigate. Inside Eva’s apartment, he found the jacket she’d been wearing the day she disappeared. Eva was never seen again.

On January 3, 1994, 22-year-old Imelda Keenan told her boyfriend that she was going to the post office. She left their apartment in Waterford City at 1:30 PM. The local doctor’s secretary was the last person to see Keenan as she crossed a road in town and seemingly vanished into thin air.

On November 9, 1995, 21-year-old Josephine Dollard was spotted using a pay phone in the Moone area of Kildare. After she ended the call, she was seen getting into a car with an unknown person. Dollard never made it back home.

On August 23, 1996, 25-year-old Fiona Pender vanished after leaving her apartment in Tullamore. On February 13, 1997, 17-year-old Ciara Breen disappeared from her home in Dundalk. On February 8, 1998, 19-year-old Fiona Sinnott went missing after leaving a pub in Broadway. On July 28, 1998, 18-year-old Deirdre Jacob went missing mere meters from her parents’ home.

None of these young women have ever been found.

The tie that binds them together? They all disappeared in what has come to be known as Ireland’s Vanishing Triangle within the boundaries of Leinster. Police decided that the missing women were most likely murdered and focused their investigation on convicted rapist Larry Murphy. He was charged with an unrelated rape and attempted murder case in 2000.

With Murphy in prison, the vanishings abruptly stopped, giving authorities even more reason to suspect him. Unfortunately, a lack of evidence and staunch denials on Murphy’s part mean that he was never charged for any of the disappearances. The fate of those who vanished remains unknown.
