1, 4 and 6 for the fandom ask game, for Triangle Strategy
Thank you so much for the ask!!! <3
1. My favorite thing about the fandom
I've probably said this before, but I honestly really like that tri strat's a pretty small fandom! I love some more popular things like fire emblem, but I rarely participate in those fandoms because it's more intimidating to post stuff that I know significantly more people will be looking at. Even my stuff on triangle-strategy-notes, which isn't super creative (like fanfic or fanart) is stuff I probably wouldn't do for fe. There's already Japanese -> English translation discourse going on over there and I know I'd probably get zinged for a lot of the mistakes I make on the artbook stuff hahahaha.
4. My favorite fanart from the fandom
I'm going to do several here bc there is SO MUCH cool fan art for triangle strategy esp. considering how small it is.
@kelbunny's Cordelia paladin concept has lived in my head rent free ever since she posted it because I am thinking 24/7 about how cool it would have been if Cordelia had ended up with a more significant role after retaking Whiteholm (not that a healer can't have a significant role but. we all know JRPG protags have to have at least one sword or will the devs REALLY let them be a JRPG protag). It's such a fun concept, and I also really love the way it parallels Avlora's dark knight thing she's got going on. It's just!!!! very cool!!!!!
@cullensart's Avwell drawings. I just think they're neat :)
This is on Twitter so I am going to very cautiously repost it a little bit with a screenshot of the entire tweet, but I really love this art by DelaneyJanuzzi of the Time to Say Goodbye battle ending. The scene in general is SO GOOD and I just think it's a really cool drawing of it :) She also has a ton of other cool tri strat + fire emblem art that I really enjoy
Tumblr media
6. My favorite character
To the surprise of probably no one I love Avlora a whole lot :) :) :) I'm a sucker for morally grey characters in general and Avlora in particular is really interesting to me for a few different reasons. One big difference between her and a character like Edelgard von Fire Emblem is that Avlora is just super unapologetically not feminine in the typical sense. She super easily could have been written as a man with essentially zero changes to the script outside of pronouns, and there's no "whoa isn't it nuts that we're taking orders from a woman?" moments or really any acknowledgement whatsoever that it's uncustomary for the setting. And the same thing goes for a lot of Tri Strat's female characters which I think is really cool! I don't have anything against girlbosses getting to be a little girly on occasion (and I think for Edelgard in particular it works well considering her whole arc with trust + vulnerability), but there's definitely something really cool about Avlora getting to step outside the stereotypes a bit and just get to be a general without so many references to her gender.

masterlist what i write series masterpost
Boston 2018
The first time you could blame it on the bad liquor. The second time, you could say it was the adrenaline from nearly getting killed by a pack of clickers but the third time you found yourself underneath Joel Miller, there was nobody to blame but yourself. You’d been working with him and Tess for a couple years and always thought the two of them were together. However, while on a supply run with just Tess about a year after you met them, you discovered that while there was an initial attraction, things were strictly business between them. You really had no plans to deal with the man further than supply runs and trades but after you had a taste of what could be, you didn’t want to go without.
You knew that things weren’t exclusive and never would be. It was simply a way for the both of you to blow off steam in this shitty world so after you missed your period not once, but twice, you realized that things might be more complicated than you had planned. Approaching Joel about the situation was not something you were looking forward to so you confided in Tess, who after scolding you, said you had two options. She knew a person who “took care of these problems” and could get your situation resolved with little to no damage or you could do what she thought was unfair, and bring a new life into the world that had become so cruel, most didn’t want to live anyway. You weighed your options for about a week, avoiding Joel whenever he tried to get you alone because all you wanted to do was blurt out that you were pregnant to get it off your chest but somehow, you knew how he would react.
Everybody had lost someone during the outbreak and although it was never confirmed by Joel, you knew he’d lost a child. Somewhere inside you, there was a small hope that maybe this tiny little life inside you could help fill some of the void but it was smashed when you eventually told him.
His cold expression and cold words were hurtful but not unexpected.
“How could you be so careless?”
You’d argued with him for over an hour, the whole “it takes two to tangle” argument but eventually you had enough and told him if he wanted nothing to do with it, this was the time because you weren’t going to wait around forever. So when his last words to you were “leave”, you decided then and there that you were done with Joel Miller. You’d waited a few weeks after Tess asked you to even though you knew that he wouldn’t come around. The day you left, you said goodbye to Tess, telling her where you planned to go and told her if Joel asked about you, not to tell him anything. If you could help it, you planned to never see Joel again.
Jackson, Wyoming 2023
Much to your dismay, Joel is at the dining hall the next morning. He’s sitting with Tommy and Ellie but you can feel his eyes on you while you watch Jack eat his breakfast. It’s like a repeat of yesterday, only this time you’re worried that Hazel may have actually poisned his food. She grumbled when he walked in the doors but didn’t say much.
Ellie eventually makes her way over to where you and Jack are sitting, shyly asking if she can sit with you and play with Jack. You hesitate but Jack gives you puppy eyes and you can never say no to him. Some of his facial expressions always reminded you of Joel but with the man actually being here now, you’re noticing it much more. You look over at him and his eyes are locked on the three of you sitting together so you look back at Ellie.
“So…” you begin, waiting for her to look up at you and when she does, you can see the mischievous look in her eyes.
“You’re gonna ask me about Joel,” she grins, “y’know, he was talking to Tommy about you last night. They thought I was asleep but there was a lot of yelling.”
“What exactly were they saying?” you ask, and she looks back at Jack, taking the piece of food he offers her.
“I dunno, Joel was grumpy that Tommy didn’t tell him that you were here but Tommy told Joel that you didn’t want him to know,” she says, “he’s always grumpy though, so that’s nothing new.”
You weren’t planning on asking her but you’re dying to know how exactly Joel ended up dragging a teenager all the way to Wyoming.
“What’s the deal with you and Joel?” you ask, “not a long lost kid, are you?”
She just laughs and shakes her head, “nah, I mean he acts like a dad but he’s just fulfilling a request from someone. I’m just cargo.”
She says it non-chalantly but something in her expression changes, so small you barely notice. It’s there though but before you can question her further, she turns the tables back to you.
“What the deal with you and Joel? I mean, clearly the kid is his… did he-”
“Ellie,” a voice cuts in and you both jump, not noticing that Joel somehow snuck up on the both of you. Before either of you can answer, a little voice speaks up.
“Hi,” Jack says, waving at Joel who once again, looks shocked that there’s a child there. The boy offers him a handful of mushed up fruit and you watch as Joel hesitantly accepts it.
You’ve watched Joel take down countless clickers and raiders so it amuses you that a toddler scares him.
Jack takes a loud slurp of his water and tries to hand it to Joel before you take it from him, rolling your eyes. Ellie is watching the interaction with amusement and you can even see Tommy from across the hall, watching closely.
“Who’re you?” Jack asks, trying to pass Joel more food. You take his plate, ignoring his grumbling. Another thing that Jack does that reminds you of Joel are his mood swings. Some days he is a chatterbox and others, you can barely get a peep out of him. Those days, he reminds you of Joel.
When Joel looks at you, this time with panic written across his face, you shrug. You’re beginning to find this amusing because who knew all it would take is a toddler to break the big Joel Miller.
“Ellie, I have to go with Tommy for a bit. Don’t leave the four walls of this town,” he points at her when she raises her hands in defense, “I told Maria to keep an eye on you.”
“Don’t worry old man, I think I’ll hang out with these two,” she tells him but then shyly looks at you, “if that's alright.”
You nod and watch as her face lights up. She goes back to talking to the little boy sitting next to her and you look at Joel who is shifting uncomfortably.
“Uh, thanks,” he mumbles without looking at you before quickly walking back to Tommy. You watch the two of them leave, the older man casting one more glance you way before his brother pats him on the back firmly.
“He’s got it bad for you,” Ellie says absently, “like real bad. Were you two like, together?”
You stare at her for a solid minute, wondering where the hell this kid came from. Was she this blunt before? Or has Joel corrupted her?
“It’s complicated, and a long story.”
“Is it longer than a week? ‘Cause I think that’s how long we’re staying,” she says and you hide a frown. You’re still trying to find out exactly why they’re here and now you find out they’re only staying a week? You can’t decide if you are relieved or disappointed.
“Why don’t we go for a walk?” You offer, wanting to get out of this conversation because talking about your non existent relationship with Joel to a 14 year old is at the bottom of your to-do list. “Jack likes seeing the sheep and horses.”
Ellie grins and you can’t help but smile when she offers her hand to Jack who accepts it eagerly. You can tell she’s trying to fill a void and you’re beginning not to mind.
. . .
Later that night after Jack is long asleep, you sit outside on your porch wrapped up in a winter jacket and blanket. It’s cold but you need some fresh air to try and get your thoughts straightened out. Ellie tried to bring up yours and Joel’s history multiple times but eventually gave up on it once she realized you weren’t going to say anything. You haven’t seen Joel since this morning, spending the day with Ellie and Jack, then eating dinner and dropping the girl off at the house she and Joel are staying at before going back to your own and putting your kid to bed.
Joel showing up out of the blue is bringing back too many memories, some good but some bad.
Suddenly, a voice breaks you out of your thoughts and you curse Joel Miller again for sneaking up on you. Being in Jackson so long is making you let your guard down too much.
“Hey,” he says, standing at the bottom of your porch steps awkwardly, “the kid gone to bed?”
Small talk. He is trying to make small talk.
“What do you want, Joel?” You ask shortly, half wanting to leave before he says anything else but if he is seeking you out, you want to know what he is looking for from you.
“I, uh, I wanted to say thanks,” he says stumbling over his words, “for entertaining Ellie today. She was real pleased-”
“I didn’t do it for you,” you snap, “she’s a good kid.”
He just nods, staring at the ground and scuffing his boots on the dirt. You watch as he clears his throat and looks up at you, a sadness in his eyes that you’re not sure you’ve ever seen.
“Tess is gone,” he says, and even though you had your suspicions since she’s not with him and he travelling all the way here, his words feel like a punch in the stomach.
“How?”
“She got bit on our way here,” he tells you and you just nod, swallowing back tears. Six years ago, you might’ve let him comfort you but all you want now is to yell or scream at him. Ellie wouldn’t tell you why they were here or why she was with Joel and you know you won’t get anything out of him. You know the only reason for his late night visit is to break the news about Tess.
When you stand up, his mouth opens to protest but he just offers you the closest thing he has to a smile. It’s pitiful.
You turn to walk inside but his voice stops you. Refusing to look at him, you pause but stay facing the door.
“He seems like a good kid,” he says quietly and you know he’s referring to Jack.
There’s a million things you can say to him, you can turn around and yell or scream at him. You could ask him why? Why did you push me away when I needed you? Why didn’t you want Jack? What hurt you so bad, that you couldn’t accept him?
Instead, you walk inside your house and close the door behind you.

hello/goodbye hugs that linger for javey 💙
Number 18 comin right up!
edit: oops, this got away from me because I don't know the definition of concise apparently
******
"It's just another three weeks, and then I'm home for the entire summer," Davey assures.
"It's too long," Jack whines. "I hate Yale. I hate stupid Boston and their stupid red-sox and their stupid Ivy League schools that have ya away for nine months of the year."
As much as Davey wants to pretend that Jack being all sorts of clingy is a major inconvenience, he can't dismiss the fact that he loves the way Jack always refuses to release them from their final hugs before Davey heads back to school.
It's become a tradition of sorts. They hug goodbye, and Davey makes some comment about being late for his train, and Jack tightens his grip while Davey rolls his eyes and lets his arms go limp at his side.
There's something different this time around, though, and Davey can't quite put his finger on it. The soft, ragged breath Jack takes when he buries his face into the crook of Davey's neck. The way his smile isn't entirely reaching his eyes.
"Hey," Davey's hands settle on Jack's shoulders as he puts enough space between them to get a good look at his best friend. "You okay?"
"Yeah," Jack mutters. Davey can tell by the dimness of his eyes that he's lying. " 'm'fine."
"You don't seem fine."
"I guess," Jack sighs, "In the past year, with you bein' gone and all... I didn't realize how much I was gonna miss ya. I didn't realize a lot of things."
Before Davey can even open his mouth to reply, he's being hauled in again for another bone-crushing hug. Davey's arms dangle by his side in shock as Jack's come up behind his back, gripping the back of Davey's shirt with such force.
Davey blinks himself out of his stupor and slowly brings his arms to clasp around Jack's waist.
"I love you, Dave."
"Love you, too, Jackie."
Davey's on the train, his mind running through their last encounter the way a needle runs over vinyl, when his phone buzzes.
Jackie: i need to tell you something. Jackie: shoulda said it before you left Jackie: i mean, i said it, but i didn't really SAY it ykwim?? Jackie: fuck. i hope you don't have signal rn and we can just wait til u get back for summer
Me: Bad news Me: I have signal
Jackie: well shit
Me: You were saying?
The three dots indicating someone on the other side is texting pop up. They disappear for a moment and return, sending anxiety that rises like the tide shooting through Davey's veins. This is where Jack admits what's been bothering him. This is where Jack says they've grown apart, that keeping up with Davey when he's so far away isn't worth the effort, that their friendship of nearly six years isn't worth the effo--
Jackie: I love you.
Davey squints at the screen.
All that fuss for Jack to tell Davey something he already knows?
Me: That's nice, Jackie. I love you, too!
Jackie: ffs Jackie: you go to an ivy league school Jackie: ain't no way ur really this dense
Me: ??? uncalled for??
Jackie: Dave. Jackie: I'm IN LOVE with you.
Oh. Well. Davey certainly wasn't expecting that.
Jackie: and i feel stupid sayin that over a damn text message but i was too scared to say it earlier and i feel like it'll eat me alive if i don't say anything Jackie: if you don't feel the same i TOTALLY understand btw Jackie: we can also just. pretend this never happened when you come back and it'll be just like old times
He blinks dumbly at the phone, heart hammering in his chest as more frantic messages come in.
Jackie: OR you could continue to ignore me Jackie: you have your read receipts on, you know that?
Jackie: oh my god i'm gonna block you. Jackie: hi hey hello, davey jacobs? jack kelly here, your best friend who just confessed his love for you? yeah it'd be great if you could SAY SOMETHING
Me: That certainly was a sentence.
Jackie: I hate you.
Me: Pretty sure you love me. Source: you.
Jackie: no fr how am *i* the one who gets a rep for being annoying?
Jackie: really though. are we gonna talk about this?
Me: Look who's being dense now.
Jackie: DAVE
Davey laughs at his screen and decides to put Jack out of his misery, chest feeling like it's exploding into a million stars.
Me: JACK Me: Good news. Me: I love you, too.
Jackie: see, was that so hard? Jackie: holy shit, so... Jackie: we're like. properly in love huh? Jackie: whaddya wanna do about that?
Me: We could call when I get back to my dorm? Have a real conversation about it? Me: And maybe talk about it when I get home in May?
Jackie: yeah. i like the sound of both those things
When Davey comes home for summer break, Jack runs to him as soon as he steps off the train, arms so tight around his torso and heart so full that Davey can't imagine either of them ever letting go.

Hakkai x f!reader A/n: Naur warnings just absolute fluff this time too, I got carried away bc Hakkai is such a AHDHUFJBAUEJFD yk what I'm saying?? This is all rightfully written by me!! and it isn't proofread yet bc I'm tired rn- imma read this later and edit some mistakes<3 (sugardaddy hakkai /j LMFAO)
Word count: 1.5k
Hakkai wasn’t totally introverted. He was quite an extrovert, but to girls? Oh he is way past than just an introvert.
And today happened to be the routine for him. Until he saw you. A lady with such gorgeous features who passed by in front of his house, walking by the sidewalk. The first thing that came to his mind was, “Taka-chan would surely like to have a model like her!”
He unwillingly stared at you while you were walking, then he realized that you just happened to live a few blocks away. He shook his head to focus back on what he was doing, he mumbled to himself, ‘I should get her off my mind, it’s not like I could have the guts to walk up to her and say hi.’ Or so he thought. His mind kept replaying the scene, keeping him awake all night. He felt his cheeks warm up as he observed your beauty in his head. And so, that night was the worst yet best night he ever had.
Rays of light peeking through the curtains, eyelids feeling heavy, he recalled what happened yesterday.
But Hakkai brushed it off and began his day with delicious breakfast and coffee while he watched tv. That’s when he thought of you again. He thought, why not shoot his shot? It wouldn’t be too bad, would it? However, this being Hakkai’s first love slaps him to reality. He thinks about how he doesn’t even talk to girls or pay attention to them at all. So how could a man like him have a chance with such a gorgeous woman like you?
But then, his doorbell rang. Shocked to hear his doorbell, he walks as fast as he can to his door to see who it was. Hakkai’s jaw dropped to see who was there. Standing at his doorstep, right in front of him, there stood the fine lady he’d seen yesterday.
“Hello! Good morning,” you spoke and nervously chuckled.
“Hi,” was all he could blurt out at the moment.
“I uh, have a small gift since I just moved here, I’m Y/n,” you responded and gave tarts as a small gift to Hakkai just like you did to your other neighbors.
He replied, “Oh yeah, thanks. I’m Hakkai, I hope you have a great stay here.”
Waving goodbyes at each other after your small talk, Hakkai felt a ray of hope. Placing the tarts you gave on the table, he sat on his chair while his heart raced. Too stunned to believe he had a conversation with you. He then planned to ask you out today for a little dinner. He was only four blocks away from you, so he planned and practiced alone on how he’d ask you out.
Later on, the moon makes its peak into the sky, along with bright stars. He follows his plan and walks on the way to your house. Wearing a white turtleneck with a beige suit and matching pants along with it. He wore a few rings too. It suited him very well. Well he IS a model after all. His shoe kept clacking as he walked. A few moments later, he finally reaches your house and seeing lights turned on, he assumes you’re home. He took a deep breath until finally, Ding dong your doorbell rang.
You went at your door as quickly as you could. The moment you opened your door you were quite shocked. “Oh it’s the attract- Hakkai,” you thought. Not knowing he was a model, you fought back your blush just like when you rang his doorbell earlier that day. Just like him, you never got his face out of your mind all day too. “Oh hey, what’s up?” you questioned. “Hey there, weird but I wanted to uh,” he paused for a moment, putting his hand on the back of his neck. “Hm?”
“I wanted to ask if you wanted to go to dinner…? With me tonight -” “ -If possible,” he continued, a visible blush appearing from both of your faces.
“Of course! If you have time to wait, I’ll get ready in a moment?” You politely asked. “Yeah, sure,” Hakkai replied along with a sigh of relief. You then widely open your door as a sign of inviting him inside your house. You both came inside, and you welcomed him, “Make yourself at home while I get ready! Things haven’t been in place yet but there’s food in the fridge if you’d like.” While you rushed into your room, Hakkai sat on the couch in the living room, taking a good look.
A few minutes passed by, and you finally came out of your room. You wore a beige dress that you found in your closet to match Hakkai’s fit. “I’m ready to go!” you happily exclaimed. “You look great,” Hakkai responded with a big smile on his face. You both stepped out and Hakkai led you to his McLaren 720s.
Flashback, he actually just borrowed that from Taiju for this date. When he called Taiju and asked him, Taiju ofc said yes but he was a bit suspicious, so Taiju went and told Yuzuha the tea which led to Yuzuha spam texting and calling Hakkai and asked what this was about. Yuzuha, as Hakkai’s sister, had a gut feeling that he was actually going on a date, so Yuzuha smirked and said, “well then, if you don’t wanna tell me then whatever.” Hakkai sighed in victory until Yuzuha continued, “Just have fun on your date bro,” and ended the call. Hakkai got very flustered.
Going back to present time, Hakkai opened the passenger seat for you, like the gentleman he is, and closed it for you. You were amazed and let out a small “woah” which made Hakkai let out a small chuckle. You both were quiet the whole time, probably thinking of what to say when you both get into the restaurant. And there you were! At a classy and fancy restaurant that Hakkai chose. You both took your seats and told the waiter what you both wanted. While waiting, Hakkai spoke, “So, how’s your stay been so far?” he tried not to sound nervous and be casual. “It’s been good! All the neighbors were very nice to me. Especially you, since it hasn’t been too long and you’re taking me out to dinner. I admit, a bit weird but dinner with you sounded great,” you responded. Hakkai let out a small and quite deep hum as a response to what you said. You started the conversation his time, “Curious, no need to answer, but what exactly do you do for a living? I have to say, I’m quite impressed.” Hakkai wasn’t expecting that question, but he replied, “Thank you, I actually model for my friend! He’s a really good seamster.”  You thought, ‘No wonder he’s attractive’ you were basically internally screaming too. Your heart beating so fast and loud you only hoped he couldn’t hear it. “Ohh, what a coincidence. I used to model too! Not until I had to move here tho, but it’s no biggie,” you commented. Hakkai was so happy that you both were models. He knew you both would agree on so many things. “Hmm, if you’d like to model again, I could maybe introduce you to my friend? Then we’d both be his models and we’d be co-workers!” He happily responded. But then both of your orders came, and you had to eat before going back to that topic again.
After you both deliciously ate your meals, you started the conversation again. “Thank you for the meal. So, as you mentioned earlier about introducing me to your friend, I’d love to! Only if he thinks I fit as a model for him though,” you acknowledged. “Okay. How about the weekends? Does that sound good?” Hakkai asked. You hummed a ‘mhm’ as a response.
Later on, you both went on your way home. Hakkai properly drove you back and dropped you off to your door shouting, “See you on the weekends, Y/n!” You replied, “Yep! See ya and thanks for dinner!” and closed your door. As soon as the both of you went home, you both dressed up into your pajamas and immediately slept, excited to meet again on the weekends.
The weekends came, you were quite nervous to meet Hakkai’s friend. Then you reached the building where Hakkai’s friend was. Of course, Hakkai had told his friend beforehand, so he was also looking forward to meeting you. The moment you reached in front of his door, Hakkai rang the doorbell and yelled, “Taka-chan!!!! We’re here!” The door opened and you and his lilac-haired friend greeted each other. Soon welcoming you into his sewing room. That’s where Hakkai introduced you to each other. “So Y/n, I heard you’d like to be my model?” Mitsuya asked. “Yes, only if I fit into your expectations though.” You replied. “Well then, you’re in! The more the merrier. Am I right, Hakkai?” Mitsuya questioned Hakkai. “Mhm,” Hakkai agreed.
Now of course, Mitsuya knew what was going on between you two. The moment Hakkai told him he found a girl who wanted to be his model, he very much knew. While you and Hakkai were merrily celebrating, Mitsuya mumbled to himself, “What a power couple these two would be.”

Our child is due in one month. We already went around and told our families and prepared a bedroom.
He's really excited and he keeps saying "Oh my goodness!".
I told Wilbur that we should name the baby Fundy. He agreed.
Okay we just had the baby, here.
c Wilbur: holds up the baby boy, smiling oh my goodness, [Me]. you're right. he really is perfect. oh, oh my goodness. oh my! oh, oh my goodness. oh my! i never thought i could feel love like this!
i just... i love him. oh, oh my. oh my goodness. oh my goodness! oh my goodness. i love him.
Me: I love both of you. You two are my favorite guys.

Mist Memories
Leo Valdez x reader for his birthday ahhhh (even though it's angsty) with a platonic/developing jason x reader cameo at the end (lmao im sorry i couldn't help myself 😭)
Based on this picture I found in pinterest + also [kinda] based on traitor by olivia rodrigo and omg i really recommend u guys listen to this edit because it reminds me so much of this fic that's been stuck in my head for MONTHS also kind of a run away with me prologue lol
Tumblr media
Your POV
I nervously made my way across the forest until I reached a limestone cliff. I knocked on the iron door, not really expecting to get an answer.
My boyfriend has been shutting himself in Bunker 9 for the past few weeks. I stood there counting up to seven before knocking again. I knocked again two more times, until he answered in the middle of my last knock.
He removed his goggles and winced as sunlight hit his eyes. He'd grown thinner and paler, making the dark circles in his eyes more pronounced.
"Oh, Leo..." I reached out to brush a few strands of hair away from his face, but he moved away.
"What are you doing here?" He said in a monotone voice.
I moved to walk inside the Bunker, brushing off his hesitation to let me in. "I'm your partner, remember? And I'm really concerned because you're shutting yourself out lately. You know everyone's starting to worry about you. Percy asked me to check on you because you missed pegasus riding with him. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Jason's coming back from Camp Jupiter soon. I was hoping you and Annabeth could be with Piper while Percy and I hung out with Jason because it's been a little awkward since their breakup. Plus Piper wanted to tell you something—"
"Please," he said forcefully causing me to stop and look at him. "Just... Get out."
Normally, he'd shut himself from the world for a few days to work on an important project or because he was feeling really sad and he needed space. But this was getting out of hand. He had never locked me out of his life when I offered to help him. He was never this mean when he asked for space. I was not having this attitude of his.
"Okay, Leo. I tried to play nice. What is so important that you blow off all your friends for nearly a month that you can't even tell your partner, or maybe say hi to your best friend who's coming back from the other side of the country?"
He didn't say anything. He pursed his lips and avoided eye contact. I scanned he room for any signs.
It was messier than usual with all the crumpled paper scattered on the floor, especially on his desk. He could have been drawing up new plans. Something in my gut told me that something wasn't right. There were no new unfinished projects, indicating that he wasn't starting a new invention. Harley's helicopter lay on his bench in the same state it was weeks ago. Huh, not even his siblings could enter the Bunker.
I turned and Leo was already changing Festus' oil. I took this moment of distraction to pick up a few pieces of crumpled paper on the floor and on his desk. I had to process the words a bit longer—too long that Leo took notice. Damn dyslexia.
I heard footsteps speed up behind me, but it was too late. I read enough and got the gist of what he had been trying to do these past few weeks.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He yelled at me. Small embers started to erupt between his curls.
I laughed dryly. "So this is what you've been up to?"
His fists tightened, further crumpling the paper in his hands. His eyes flashed with anger, despair and confusion.
I sighed and focused my eyes on his desk, not daring to look at him any longer. Under some pieces of paper were old photographs of him and Piper from Wilderness School. Yup, those definitely were the mist memories she had with Jason. I read the latest draft he'd been writing:
Dear Piper,
Remember the mist memories from boarding school with Jason? They were real, but they were with me.
I miss you. I miss when it was just us. I miss the night on the roof.
Yours truly,
Leo Valdez
I tried to keep my voice from cracking. "How long?"
I heard him sigh. "Three weeks."
I balled my fists. Tears started to fall and smudge the ink. I wiped them away as fast as they came.
"How?"
"In a dream," his tone softened now. "Hera came to me in a dream and told me to check an old drawer in Bunker 9. I found the photos and the memories came rushing back."
"How long were you dating back then?"
"Two weeks."
"Were you ever going to tell me?"
Silence; then a deep breath.
"No."
I shook my head in disbelief. "Why?"
"Because I knew you'd get upset like—"
"I meant why would you throw away months of our relationship for a couple of weeks of your relationship with her? And without even bothering to tell me? Gods damn it, Leo. We've been together since you've first arrived at camp. And what about those promises you made when we were sailing to Greece? You've been keeping these feelings away from me and you've been lying to me, making me believe that there's still something between us and—"
"Oh, calm down," he said with an annoyed expression and tone, which only infuriated me more, "it's not like I did anything were her yet! I didn't kiss her or tell her how I truly felt for her! She just got out of a relationship with Jason around the same time I had that dream. I had to figure out how to talk to her about it. I've been alone in this Bunker for three. Fucking. Weeks. I didn't cheat on you."
"Oh, and that makes everything better?" I countered. "Being in a relationship isn't about not cheating, Leo. It's about being honest and communicating with each other."
"Oh, like you've been communicating with me? After the war, you take go back to Manhattan for school, and you take a job. I haven't seen you much during the holidays because work has been keeping you in the city. And you won't tell me what you even do for a living!"
I took in a deep breath. "I told you I needed to have a life outside of camp! I needed to know first that I could handle myself in the mortal world as a normal human being. I needed this demigod part of my life to be separate as much as possible! I've been in two wars, Leo. I needed time to myself, too. And I was about to tell you guys in a few more days. But I guess now, I'm glad I've kept you out of that part of my life. At least I have an escape from all of this. And now, especially from you."
I took another deep breath and walked to the door, about to let myself out. I turned back again, both our tear-stained eyes meeting each other.
"If it makes you feel any better," I said softly, "I would've hated the idea of us breaking up. But if you really love her, if you really feel like you have this special connection to her and she makes you happy, then I won't get in your way. You could at least have had the decency to talk to me so we could have left on a good note."
He looked at me with wide eyes, clearly regretting his actions. I sighed and looked around the Bunker, possibly for the last time. Lots of memories were definitely created in this room; all just as grand and meaningful as the inventions they made here. But just like some of Hephaestus' contraptions, some of them were flawed and dumped in his scrapyard, no matter how much potential it could have had.
"Goodbye, Leo."
I sat on a rock on the beach that gave me a beautiful view of Long Island Sound. To my left, the sun started to set, casting an orange filter on everything. My heart broke, remembering how everything glowed orange in the Bunker. Leo always left the fires burning when he was working. The sunlight twinkling against the sea reminded me of how small bits of flame peaked through his hair earlier. I remembered how mad he was at me. Or maybe he was mostly mad at himself.
"Hey."
I jumped when someone sat—or rather, landed—beside me. I turned and smiled, seeing one of my good friends back at camp.
"Hey, you're back," I said weakly. "How long have you been here?"
He smiled at me, although he could maybe sense that something was wrong. "Half an hour, maybe? I saw Annabeth making plans to expand camp to have a city. She made me do an aerial inspection and I told her I'll get back to her tonight. That's when I saw you."
"Mhmm," I mumbled, not really knowing what to say. It was silent for a few minutes before I spoke up again, knowing he was just waiting for me to open up.
"I broke up with Leo."
His head quickly turned to me. I guess he wasn't expecting it to be that bad. "What?"
"Oh yeah," I laughed dryly. "Turns out the mist memories Piper had in Wilderness School with you? They were real. But not with you."
His eyes widened. "Oh... With Leo."
"He locked himself in the Bunker for weeks trying to write a letter. It was heartbreaking. Like, truly heartbreaking. He wanted to tell her how much he missed her and how much he missed them. Then he said how much he missed that night with her under the stars and... It hurt. Like hell."
"Oh," he said. "I guess Piper didn't tell me everything then."
"She knew all along?"
He shook his head. "Maybe not everything, but she told me she's been confused about her feelings lately and she'd been having visions or dreams of possible old memories that were messing with her head."
"I'm sorry about you and Piper," I said.
"Don't be," he said. "I understand her. It did hurt, though. But I think I can get over it some day. We're still awkward around each other, but at least we left on a good note."
I scoffed. "Leo couldn't even give me a good ending to our relationship."
"Hey," he said as he put a hand on my shoulder. "You're a great person, y/n. You've done so much, especially for him. It's his loss that he was stupid enough to let go of you."
"I know that."
"Do you really?"
"I do!" I said. "I'm a great person and I know that. But that doesn't mean what he did doesn't hurt me."
"I know," he said. "You'll find someone who'll treat you like the queen that you are. You're a great person, and I'm not just saying this to cheer you up. I truly think you're amazing."
I smiled at him. "Thanks, Jason. And you'll find someone great, too. Maybe not as great as me but, then again, who is?"
We both let out a laugh. The conch sounded in the distance, signaling dinner. I moved to stand up before hearing Jason speak up again.
"Hey, do you maybe want to just grab a couple of plates and eat out here?"
I smiled. "Yeah. That sounds good. I don't really want everyone else hounding me about the breakup right now."
I don't know how long it was going to take me to get over Leo. We really did gave something special. It was cruel how the universe gave me something so good, to make me have hope that something was finally going right, then have it yanked away from my arms just as suddenly as it came.
He never cheated on me, but that didn't mean he didn't betray every promise we made to each other. I should have known it was too good to be true. Life has always played cruel jokes on me.
Then again, who's to say that things won't turn out for the better, right?

It's almost the last ep of of bb. Goodness, where did all the time even go? I still remember that trailer way back in 2020 (it's so weird that it's been more than a year, feels so surreal, time isn't real asfjslgk) and now you're telling me the show's coming to an end? Get outta here
We've seen such a great community on here coming together with their love for this show, the last time I remember my entire dash being this invested in a drama was when 2gether was airing, that was also ages ago too wasn't it, and it feels so good to be a part of all that. And you made such stunning edits for bb, I loved each and every one of them!
I will miss talking to you about this drama and theorizing after every ep, and clowning too! It's probably one I'll hold close to my heart for a long time to come, honestly no other show I've watched has impacted me this much, not that I remember anyways. It was lovely to be a part of it and so was talking to you, even if it hasn't been that long. Thanks for putting up with all my sleep-deprived ramblings, and taking the time to answer them all, truly appreciate it :) This feels like a goodbye but I swear it isn't qnfkdk just felt like showing an appreciation for you and everyone who was a part of this journey! ❤
Love, awa
right??? it genuinely doesn’t feel real. waiting was such a long and painful process, now we’ve had them for a little bit and then they’ll be gone in 24 hours 😭😭😭
yes!! i was here with the mod fandom and i’m very proud of that, i also watched the cherry magic fandom grow beautifully big but needless to say bad buddy is a phenomenon like 2gether and its fandom is extremely passionate. which always makes me think, like!! if i ever created something that gathered so many amazing people together to talk about it and to love it boundlessly like people love bad buddy, i’d consider my mission on earth done. from the bottom of my heart
it was an honor to be a part of this experience and to watch the bad buddy fandom grow and the show receive so much (and well deserved) love
i mean, we’ve always known the potential it had, no wonder we lost our minds over the og trailer for eleven months akskakks but seeing everything unfold before our eyes just as expected, it was a sight to behold! and i’ll never forget that
aww thank you for loving my edits! i wish i could’ve done more for this fandom but the little i did was with a lot of love and hard work and i hope it’s enough 🥰
i will definitely miss our clowning! 🤣🤣🤣 thank you SO much for being here with me, for sending me insightful asks, for being part of my support system. doesn’t matter for how long, it means a lot to me all the same!
and i feel you, bb has left an impact on soooo many people, it’s one of those dramas that will live on forever in our hearts. as it should be!
it was an honor to read your thoughts and share mine with you as well. i’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!!! thank you for everything, really!!!
i truly hope it’s not a goodbye! 🤣🤣🤣 but yes, same!! i also feel very grateful for everyone! so thank you for allowing me to show my appreciation right back!!
love you!!! good luck with the last ep!!! ❤️💙
