Grab your bestie/coworker/mom and join us for vegan chili with all the toppings, fresh string beans and desserts provided by The Vegan Baking Club. Dedicated to peace and justice #ecmku is a relaxing, calming space to open your heart and quiet your brain while you strengthen and stretch your body. When you get quiet and experience feelings of peace that peace ripples out into the community. When you walk away from a yoga practice feeling lighter, grounded and centered you become a better parent/partner/coworker/neighbor/friend. The peace in your heart helps you manage your emotions better, the peace in your brain helps you process better and the peace in your body helps you Deel inspired to keep taking care of yourself so you have the energy to be who you want to be in this world. Free Veggie Lunch at @ecmku every Thursday 11:30-1p. We did a thing. I have been attracted to the energy and heart of the community at ECM at KU for a long time. Finally this year I connected with the fabulous director, @dhc.bb and started teaching Community Yoga on Mondays at 4p. So, now after years of teaching primarily online I get to teach in -person in two loving, supportive communities committed to value-based, heart-centered living. You can also join me at @thesunriseproject Sundays at 5p for Free Community Yoga. This week @slimzadie and I did a new thing. We joined in community to help cook veggie lunch at ECM. Then we met Sunrise family for lunch of roasted squash,cabbage and onions on basmati rice with cucumber salad (that I made) and a side of sliced strawberries . We chatted and laughed amongst the gentle murmur of university students and community members connecting over a shared meal. This is my heart, y’all. This is what fires me up and keeps me going. The world has been flipping upside down and right-side up over and over again and there is nothing better than breaking bread over a home cooked meal. This is where we recharge, nourish, relax and connect. This is self-care. This is peace. This is yoga. Join us next Thursday. Seriously, put it in your calendar now. On Mondays we practice at @ecmku, a lovely community resource. The space is gorgeous and the energy is inviting and welcoming. I’m so grateful to teach in this beautiful space dedicated to our whole community. I’m grateful that in true community spirit, I get to offer our classes by donation. Creating Community, Creating Ease. At A Yogi Kitchen and Pantry we strive to create community. It’s such a yummy core value. As a yoga family we collect and distribute food, clothes, and blankets. We volunteer together to cook meals for our community at @thesunriseproject the first and third Wednesday of the month. Join us next week to chop, cook, serve and break bread together. Their link in our bio. Last weekend we celebrated donors at Sunrise with a delicious house-made ramen bar. I’m still thinking about the yumminess. It’s a new week and we have a new class. Join us for Community Yoga today, 4p at ECM at KU! While it’s on campus, at 1204 Oread, ECM is a community organization for ALL. Over the last few years I’ve opened to the importance of community. It is with such honor and pride that I am teaching two Community classes a week for all people. Whatever your age, your experience level, your background or you ability I hope you’ll join me for yoga. If getting to classes in person is hard you can join us online or you can check out private sessions on the website. I can come to you. All links in the bio. Food. It makes me happy. Cooking and sharing food is my love language. I’ve been tasting a lot of other people’s food and shopping at new markets on my week off. It’s been so fun and inspiring. So, I went back through my camera roll to think about dishes I’ve made recently and dishes I want to try soon. At A Yogi Kitchen and Pantry we collect and distribute groceries and cook meals to share. Recently, we lost two of our families due to housing instability and so we’re going back to cooking more fresh and healthy dishes to share at the fridge at @thesunriseproject and with unhoused people that we love and care for. This Sunday we’re breaking bread together at our Yoga Family Potluck. Join us from 1-3. On the first Sunday of every month I’ll be trying a new dish and sharing it with you.
