I love Holga so much actually she's obsessed with potatoes (as she should be) she has a thing for short guys she saw a man at his lowest and his baby daughter and decided she needed to look out for them she's strong and fierce and tough and her best friend singing makes her laugh somehow she manages to contain perfectly barbarian class tropes while never once falling into stereotype she's kind she's loving she's got the highest kill count of the entire party she's a mother she genuinely likes Edgin it could have so easily fallen into the "competent person annoyed by irritating person yet keeps them around for some reason" dynamic but it doesn't she likes him she's sad and angry and fair and good and gentle and literally goes into a wild rage when she fights people. Chatacter of the century perhaps.

sum: after taking a much-needed nap together, the hydro dragon neuvillette has you in his coil and is reluctant to let you go. hm.

pairing: neuvillette x gn!reader

a rich, brooding purr rose in neuvillette’s throat when you groggily came to and raised your head from his chest; the noise he made was warm, but also poignant like the warning clicks of dolphins. ‘stay,’ he was coaxing you.

his heavy tail curled further over your torso; he’d assumed you in a protective coil, close to himself, and turned his divine dragon form into a sort of nest for you to sleep in. his pearlescent scales were smooth, almost silken to the touch, and though his tail was almost entirely muscle, it stretched soft and pliant around your body.

the hydro dragon is a cold-blooded creature, whose internal temperature had been completely reliant on the ocean currents he‘d ridden freely during the early days of teyvat.

and throughout the abyssal waters, teeming with all kinds of marine life, there had never been a creature who’d offered him warmth.. someone like you. 

so the sensation of your warmth was addicting to him. neuvillette clasped you tightly to himself (though not tightly enough that you couldn’t breathe), the light pressure of your head laying flush against his chest now as much of a requirement for him as sunlight from the sky. he could feel every clench and twinge and burst of momentum in your muscles, sending waves of heat through his body, and he hoped you wouldn’t notice his heart pattering a bit faster each time you shifted. 

his curled blue antennae had gradually floated down towards you as you slept. 

and something about the sound of your startled laugh when one antenna traced down your soft cheek or fluttered over your eyes made him incline his head and want to observe you closer.

“i guess i can stay a bit longer,” you rub your forefinger up and down the slope of neuvillette’s snout lightly. he blows a brief gust of air into your face, his nostrils flaring, and suddenly it felt as if you were at a beach. with a sea breeze, carrying hints of salt and kelp and sand, flowing around you

you could hear it through his gestures, through the way his heartbeat slowed as soon as you relaxed into his embrace once again, through the soft growls and purring that he ellicited in an effort to calm you and keep you near.. the hydro dragon had quickly come to need you. and for neuvillette.. it gave him a strange feeling, he thought, to be in possession of a warm little light such as yourself.. to have experienced the very human desire for a moment with someone to never end.. and perhaps he was adjusting well to surface life after all. because he liked what he was feeling, very much
