Many people believe that accumulating wealth or marrying someone wealthy is the key to achieving happiness. However, the harsh reality is that the pursuit of money can actually lead to a decrease in overall happiness. It's important to remember that happiness is not something that can be bought or achieved through external means, but rather it is a state of mind that comes from within.
The process of working towards a goal, whether it be financial or personal, is where true beauty lies. It is through the challenges and obstacles that we face along the way that we learn and grow as individuals. The sense of accomplishment that comes from achieving a goal is far more valuable than any amount of money or material possessions.
While financial stability is certainly important, it should not be the sole focus of our lives. We must learn to appreciate the journey, rather than just the end result. It's easy to become consumed by the desire for more, but true happiness can only be found when we learn to be content with what we have.
So, let us not forget the beauty in the process. Let us take the time to appreciate the journey, learn from our struggles and celebrate our achievements. Only then can we truly experience the joy and contentment that comes with a life well-lived.

10 Things that Make Me Laugh
1. The face my cat makes when she smells something interesting
2. The slightest touch of my feet (i.e. getting a pedicure)
3. When my roommates and I are doing an extended bit while in conversation
4. A verse from this one song called “Sloppy Giuseppe”
5. When I am walking in the wrong direction and I act out checking my bag and “forgetting” something so I can turn around and walk the other way
6. When a little kid in my art classroom goes on a tangent that doesn’t really make any sense
7. A really good cat video on the internet
8. Donald Glover’s “Weirdo” standup comedy show
9. Getting knocked down by a really big wave in the ocean
10. Incredibly dry sarcasm used in front of someone who isn’t getting it
This actually took me a really long time, to come up with 10 things that make me laugh. I guess I need to look for some more ways to invite laughter in my life so it can become a daily practice as well.

(117/?) I've let my children, let them go...
Let things end. It's OK, you don't have to continue that which has naturally run its course. Not every single thing has to be AC/DC or the Rolling Stones (Sazae-san is sorta OK, but it's still getting off with a warning). Let shit go out of style. ---- The warnings need to sink in: Let things escape from your grasp, allow yourself to be uncool, to stumble and fall on your face/ass and to get surprised by life's many curveballs. What the hell is the point of keeping a facade if it's making your ass miserable? ---- It's one of the fundamental things about Donald Glover that people seem to have misunderstood: You'd think him basically titling his sole stand-up special "Weirdo" would be obvious, yet it seems like it never quite sunk in. You think any average joe can write the greatest piece of musical comedy genius since Frank Zappa was still alive? ---- So, yeah: Just like with material possessions (a.k.a. yesterday's post), sometimes it's fine to let go of things that, well, you don't necessarily "own", but that held great value to you. The 2nd time I lived in Tokyo, one of the people who I ended up befriending told me that Tokyo is a city that was undergoing a constant rebirth. Hell, let's go with what the OG G.O.A.T. himself said:

I'm watching Donald Glover's standup special on Netflix and he's saying "People feel like it's the end of the world. I was talking to my dad the other day and he was like 'Things are so bad right now. It feels like this is the worst time to be alive.'"
This special is from 2012.
