Is this gifset a Repost™?
So since reposted gifsets are an ongoing Issue™, I thought I’d write up a Comprehensive Guide on how to spot one of these little bastards. This is really the sort of thing you only start looking for instinctively when you start making gifs, but it’s really exhausting for it to only be on gifmakers to call this stuff out.
Below the cut you’ll find How to Spot a repost, What to Do when you find a repost, What NOT to Do when you find a repost, and a When in Doubt section, just for my own enjoyment.
How to Spot a Repost
The subtitle fonts are different.
I’ve never seen any original gifset change subtitle font mid-set, even from beginner gifmakers.
There’s a watermark that's different from the url that posted it.
This is usually pretty clear. There are cases where a gifmaker has changed their url, though, so be cautious with this one.
The quality is wildly different.
We all know the difference. If there are super high quality gifs mixed in with gifs that look like they were made with an online gif generator, it’s very likely it’s a repost.
The dimensions are wildly different.
If some gifs are stretched out while others look normal or there are big gifs mixed in with small ones with no pattern, that’s a good indication it’s a repost.
The coloring is unreasonably different.
Gifmakers make gifsets with style in mind. If there’s no cohesive style between gifs (i.e. some are vibrant while some are muted without reason, etc.), it’s likely a repost.
The space between gifs is weirdly big.
This is a good indication that the set was posted as a text post instead of a photo post. Most experienced gifmakers make their sets photo posts since it’s easier to format. Note: There are beginner gifmakers and gifmakers that post from mobile who post gifsets as text posts. Use your best judgement.
The speeds are different.
If one gif is moving in slow motion while another is moving quickly and there’s no reason for that stylistically, it’s likely a repost.
Some gifs play smoothly and some stutter.
This is an effect of the gifmaking process, and it’s unlikely that a single, non-reposted set will mix the two.
The tags on the “original” post are all generic.
If you go back to the “original” post and the poster has only tagged with a fandom, characters, actors, etc. it could be a repost. Most experienced gifmakers will have tagged the set with one-word tags that end in “edit,” tagged other blogs, and/or have an edit tag so they can find their own creations, i.e. #my post, #*, etc. Note: There are beginner gifmakers who are unaware how to take advantage of the Tumblr tagging system to get the best exposure for their work. Use your best judgement.
Note: This largely applies to “frankensets.” Frankensets are gifs from several creators smooshed together into one post. Sometimes a reposter who posts frankensets will also steal whole sets, as well.
Note 2: Just because a set exhibits one of these signs, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a repost. The last thing you want to do is accuse a new gifmaker of reposting their own work. If a set shows three or more of these, however, I’d consider it highly suspect.
What to do When You Think You’ve Found a Repost
Check the “original” poster’s blog.
Scroll down a bit. Chances are, if they’ve reposted once, they’ve done it a bunch. Look at their other “original” posts. Compare the style and formatting of the gifsets they’ve posted. If it looks like they post frankensets and their content isn’t visually consistent, it’s likely that none of the “original” content they post is actually theirs.
Do you recognize any of the gifs that have been stolen?
Sometimes you might recognize a gif and be able to figure out who made it. That’s great! Send a link to the post in question to the gifmaker if you can, asking if the gif is theirs. Unfortunately, reporting misattribution (a repost) is only ever taken seriously by Tumblr if the person who actually originally posted the content is the one to do it.
If you can’t pinpoint who made a gif...
Don’t worry. It can be difficult to determine a creator by style alone. Try reverse image searching the gif (open images(.)google(.)com and click and drag a gif to the search bar, then click “all sizes” under the gif preview). This won’t always work, but sometimes you’ll be able to find the original creator from that. Note: Pinterest and weheartit are never the original posters, and are, in fact, the bane of every gifmaker’s existence. If you don’t know what this means, ask your favorite creator, they’ll give you an earful.
Message gifmakers involved with the content that’s being reposted. Even if it’s not theirs, sometimes gifmakers will be able to recognize the gifs of another creator they know. Use this networking to your advantage.
Contact the reposter in question.
Inform them of general Tumblr etiquette of not reposting someone else’s work. Ask them to take down any gifs they’ve posted that isn’t their own. A lot of times, as infuriating as it can be, this kind of thing comes from ignorance.
You contacted the reposter, they took their reposts down, and promised not to do it again.
Awesome! Thank you for your help. You don’t know how much of a headache you just saved for a gifmaker down the line.
You contacted the reposter and they got belligerent and blocked you/ignored you/continued to repost.
This sucks, but it happens more often than you’d think. Block them, and if they’ve been reposting from a fandom you’re involved in, message some gifmakers you know of with the reposter’s url so they can block them, too.
What NOT to do When You've Found a Repost
DO NOT reblog the repost in question.
Even if you reblog it with a comment saying that it belongs to someone else, it’s still giving the repost notes and exposure it doesn’t deserve. There’s something extremely disheartening to see a repost of your work with more notes than the one you actually posted. Only do this if the original creator asks you to.
DO NOT be an asshole without reason.
The only people who have the right to be aggressive with reposters from the get-go are content creators whose content is being stolen. Note: If a reposter starts to get into shit with you, I say go for it, but that’s just one gifmaker’s opinion. That’s an endorsement of a defense of artists and not anonymous hate and harassment, for the record. There is still a line.
When in Doubt
I really can’t tell if this person has been reposting or not.
Ask someone. If a set is giving you a weird feeling, reach out to a gifmaker and ask their opinion. I'm speaking for myself here, but personally, I’d much rather spend five minutes looking through someone’s blog only to find that they’re just really new to making gifs than not hear about it at all while someone is taking credit for another person’s work.
I really like this gifmaker’s work and want it on my blog.
Reblog it. Reblog it. Reblog it. For the love of sweet validation, reblog it. Never repost someone’s work. And likes don’t do anything, so reblog it.
I found this series of gifs on Pinterest, can I post them?
No. Absolutely not. There is not a gif in existence that originated on Pinterest. Everything on that site is stolen. Reposting gifs from Pinterest means that someone’s work has now been stolen twice, thanks a lot, my dude.
What about from Google?
You do not know how search engines work. Please Google, “how does google find pictures,” and then proceed to reblog the post that contains the gif you were about to steal (as long as it’s not a repost... else the cycle continues).
What about WeHea—
No. If you did not make the gif, do not post it. Anywhere. Here’s the thing that people don’t seem to grasp: gifsets posted to Tumblr are made specifically for Tumblr. The formatting itself tells you all you need to know. If a gifmaker wants their gifs on another platform, they’ll put it there themselves.
But this specific gif will really drive my argument home.
Okay, then ask the gifmaker. And explain in detail what you want to do with it. If they say, “yeah, go for it,” then by all means, do so. But if they say, “only with credit,” or just straight up, “no,” you need to be prepared to either accept that answer, or make a gif yourself to suit your needs.
What if I just write, “Credit to the artist!” under it?
That is... no. Do you know why you’re supposed to credit things—other people’s work, ideas, etc.—with the person’s actual name, or url, or information? So that other people can find that person. So that other people who see that person’s work, or art, or idea, who want to read, or see, or theorize more of it can actually go and support or contact that person. You’ll claim that payment by exposure is bullshit—and it is—and then post someone else’s work while completely erasing their association with it. Absolutely fucking ridiculous. No, “credit to the artist,” isn’t enough, and it never will be.
But I don’t know how to make gifs.
Then learn. There are tutorials everywhere. Some gifmakers might even be willing to help or give you some tips. But if someone’s defense to reposting gifs is, “I don’t know how,” then that says a hell of a lot more about how they value artists’ time and talent than it does about anything else.

Story Time
Tumblr media
One-Shot, 2′327 Words Star Wars AU
(( the formatting got fucky and hard to read for mobile, can’t get it to fix itself, so reposting as a text post instead of answer in an attempt to get it to work.
set later than previous SW fics where they actually like. can stand each other. it ended up WAY longer than I anticipated, but So. Worth it. It was a lot of fun :D ))
Warnings: Alcohol, Drunkenness (mild), Swearing Characters: Chase Brody, Jackieboy Man, Jameson Jackson, Marvin the Magnificent, Dr. Schneeplestein, Septic Eye Sam
Chase had dropped off a pretty large shipment earlier, which left the cargo bay of his ship with plenty of room. With an empty crate acting as a makeshift table, they all sat around it, some with more distance between them than others. It had been Chase’s idea, because of course it had been.
Jackie was looking at his drink skeptically (probably wondering if Chase had come by it legally or not) while Sam pouted at the fact Marvin wouldn’t let them have any. …Which was funny considering that, while they were the youngest there, they were as much an adult as the rest of them. Jameson had waved off the offer, not wanting to remove his vocoder—vocabulator?—whatever it was; Chase had heard multiple names used for the things.
Chase might have been a little tipsy at that point and he could feel Schneep eyeing him. He was watching himself, though, and at least his astromech could pilot while he was unable.
“Anyway,” the Bothan said as he threw a hand up, “that’s how I accidentally pissed off a governor and got an assassin sent after me!”
Marvin made a noise akin to some sort of hissing laugh. “I think I’ve got more questions than I started with.”
“Yeah…” Jackie took a testing sip of his drink as he leaned back against an empty pallet. “What was that part about getting stuck in the wrong vent again?”
“Doesn’t matter—my time’s up! Who can one-up that?” Chase pulled his best rendition of a grin that he could with a snout full of sharp teeth.
“Eh, I’ll give it a shot.” Marvin adjusted his legs and patted his helmet to make sure it was still resting at his thigh. “This was back when Sami was a teenager, but… Heh. You remember that Acklay?”
The younger Mandalorian immediately perked up and started grinning. “You told that story for weeks after!”
“Hey, that’s where I earned my signet—‘course I’d keep telling it!”
“Acklay…” Jackie rubbed at his chin. “You mean those freaky six-legged buggers that try to spear ya?”
Marvin grinned; his feline fangs were even sharper than Chase’s and glinted in the light from overhead. “Oh, yeah. And those legs are sharp, dammit.” He traced a line over his breastplate up to his shoulder and added, “Got a nasty scar here from it, and proud of it!”
“So what about the Acklay?” Schneep actually…tilted his head a little. God was he expressive for a droid.
“All right. Let’s see if this one-ups Chase’s ship-crash of an experience, huh?” He took a swig of his drink, then settled back comfortably. “I did a lot of our clan’s supply runs—especially if it was into dangerous territory. I had to go to Felucia for some plant. Not a botanist, so don’t remember what it was or what it was used for, but whatever. We needed it and that’s all you need to know about that.
“So, I was searching for this plant, watching my back for dangerous fauna, and then I heard it.” He gnashed his teeth together, making poor Sami jump at the noise. “It was above me, on one of the…root-things all over the place. Just watching me. And the thing was huge. I’d only seen them from a distance until that point, but one good strike would’ve speared one of its legs straight through me.
“When it shifted, the entire root creaked under it. It must’ve been waiting there long before I got there ‘cause there was no way I wouldn’t have heard it walk up there.” He muttered something in Mando’a and chuckled to himself. “So I did what any impulsive Mandalorian would do and started shooting at it.”
Jameson startled Chase—as well as some of the others by the looks of it—when he suddenly piped in. He hadn’t expected the guy to actually listen enough to contribute. “Acklays have exoskeletons. A blaster such as you carry would do little.”
Marvin frowned a little at Jameson, but at least he wasn’t baring his teeth this time. For once? “Yeah. And I remembered that fact only when it lumbered off the damn root and nearly speared me under it.
“That was back before I got my jetpack, and carried a vibroblade instead of my electrostaff.” He patted said weapon where it laid next to him. “So I was stuck on the ground with somethin’ a whole lot faster than me, with more reach, and those fuckers are scary agile, too. I was alone with the only things I’d have a chance with being a few grenades and my blade.”
Jackie arched a brow. “…You say that like ‘a few’ grenades are just a casual thing.”
“Well, yeah. Mandalorians are usually armed to the teeth.”
“Fangs,” Chase corrected with a chuckle. “’Cause you’re a Cathar, so you’ve got fangs.”
Marvin just snorted. “Someone get him to bed—”
“—I’m not that drunk—!”
“—Anyway. So I’ve got this Acklay that’s way bigger than me trying to knock me over, spear me, chomp me, whatever it can. It broke some of my straps, so I was left without a breastplate or right pauldron, lost one of my blasters, I’m dragging my sash in my hands since that got cut, too, and I really wanted to keep my grenades with me, all while I’m trying not to let this thing make a meal of me and it’s screeching in my ear.
“So I’m trying to duck around plants and dive for areas it can’t fit, but it just plows through or destroys them to leave me floundering for a new spot. I can see my ship, but this thing’s driving me farther and farther from it, then I trip, and all I see is one of its legs poised to impale me. I roll, but it still catches me,” he traces the line on his chest again, “so now I’m bleeding, can’t move one arm, and this thing reaches down to chomp me, catches my other pauldron instead and pulls it off so I scramble to my feet.
“I’m covered in mud and pollen and my own blood, my visor’s so filthy I can barely see. I pull a grenade off my sash and activate it, ‘cause at that point I’m thinking I’m about to die and I’m desperate. So I throw the fucker, and the Acklay snatches it out of the air and swallows it.
“Boom. I watched the thing get blown apart, grabbed my stuff and the plant after looking around for it again, and beelined it for my ship.”
Sam shook their head and grinned. “When he got back to camp he was a mess. He was dragging the armor that was pulled off by its straps and had his arm against his chest. His collar bone had been broken and he didn’t even sling his arm! The medical droid scolded him so bad. And the first thing he does? Pull off his helmet, grin a huge grin, and give the plant to our leader all proud of himself!”
“Hey, I had a right to be proud!” Marvin turned to show the marks on his pauldron; sure enough, it was an Acklay head. “That’s how I earned my signet!”
“…Damn.” Chase shook his head. “I’ve heard those things can kill groups of trained soldiers if they’re caught off guard.”
“Impressive,” Schneep agreed. “Very impressive!”
“So. Anyone wanna one-up that?” the Cathar challenged.
Jackie shook his head. “I thought I had a story. No way it tops that.”
“Let’s hear it anyway!” Chase said.
“Yes, please,” the droid agreed.
“Eh. Well.” He rubbed the back of his head. In the dimmed light of the cargo bay, it was almost eerie the way his red eyes glowed as he cast them around the room. “I was in my Y-Wing when Vader joined a battle?”
Chase choked on his drink and was left coughing for a solid thirty seconds. “You survived an encounter with him?!”
“I spotted his TIE from a distance, but it didn’t really…register? that it looked a little different from the rest? Soon as my squad leader saw it, I swear I was gonna go deaf. She flipped. Out. Ordering the squad to retreat immediately. It was right about then that a star destroyer came outta hyperspace.
“We knew that was it. We didn’t have a chance of winning that battle, so we fell back in the hopes of not losing multiple squads.” Jackie frowned. “Half my squad was killed—all good men, friends—when Vader showed up. Pretty sure he’s the one who got to ‘em. I’d never been so terrified.  Heh. And I never even got close to it—just saw it on the other side of the battle. Even now, I don’t think anything’s scared me so damn bad as seein’ that one TIE.
“I wouldn’t fly for days after that, and none of us would shut up about seeing it. We didn’t win that battle, but surviving that sorta encounter at least deserves some bragging rights. Right?”
“Wow!” Sam leaned forward, hands on their knees. “I’ve only ever heard stories of him, but that sounds scary!” They were…grinning, as they said it. Of course they were, Chase thought with a chuckle. He swore those two Mandalorians were addicted to danger. Maybe he was a little, too, but hey.
“Okay, we’ve got a game goin’ now,” Jackie said. “Someone’s gotta go next.”
Schneep shuffled awkwardly, then offered, “I was stolen by pirates?”
“Hey, now.” The Chiss frowned despite the story he’d just told. “We rescued you. Can’t hold that over our heads forever.”
“Oh, no, no!” He put up his hands, shook his head. “You saved me from the third time! But I’ve been stolen before.”
“…Third time?”
“By pirates, yes.”
“That implies you’ve been stolen by things other than pirates, too,” Marvin muttered with a huffed laugh.
“Dude,” Chase grinned, “you’ve got tell us about the first time. Or second—whichever’s more interesting. Please?”
The arms set into Schneep’s back for more fine-tuned work shifted and clattered and his eyes brightened a bit. Maybe he couldn’t make facial expressions, but he had other ways of showing how he felt. It was frankly adorable how expressive he actually was.
“This happened during the Clone Wars. I was a Republic medical droid—”
“I…had forgotten how old you were,” Jameson said.
Jackie scoffed. “You forgot something? You’ve got like. A literal computer attached to your head.”
“It didn’t seem like important information, so I disregarded it.”
“Guys,” Chase scolded, “don’t interrupt him.”
His extra arms fidgeted even as he tried to remain still. “I had been stationed at a small outpost to tend to the Clones there. It was too small and not well-defended—in a very bad location, as well. Very bad planning overall. That is what I was told. Pirates were able to overwhelm it.
“They took hostages, stole the droids and supplies, and fled back to their ship before reinforcements arrived.” He put his hands on his hips like he was disappointed, but also chuckled. “They tried to short me out! But they shocked themselves instead—is very funny to remember. They cursed and jumped around while their little machine zipped and zapped. The astromechs they stole found it hilarious and would not stop chittering!”
Chase laughed. That seemed to make Schneep a little more confident—he wasn’t used to talking so much about himself, it was clear, but the Bothan hoped he would start loosening up like this more often.
“The pirates were incompetent. They overwhelmed the outpost with sheer number and firepower, but I swear, far dumber than a battle droid. The Clones complimented one with insults—right to his face!—and he took it as genuine!
“They floundered around each other like the fish out of water! One accidentally released one of the Clones and the poor man was so confused that he just sat there waiting to be cuffed again, and another nearly shot his buddy while cleaning a blaster and having it go off. It was maddening! They wanted to sell us droids and ransom the Clones, but the truly frustrating part was watching them all be the idiots! I do not even think we were worried for our own well-being they were so nonsensical!”
Most of them were laughing, now. Even Jameson had his head tilted like he just couldn’t make sense of pirates. One of the lights on his AJ^6 was even blinking very, very slowly.
“Dude.” It took Chase a couple tries to actually get any proper words out through snickers, “I’m actually afraid of the answer, but… How badly did you embarrass them to get away?”
The droid cupped his hands over his face and laughed again. “The Clones tricked them into undoing their binds, but they were still locked in the cell. So the astromechs—they ambushed a pirate and stole the key from him!”
“Oh, god. Did they not know how freaking feisty mechs can be?! You don’t tick them off—‘specially not a group of ‘em!”
“Apparently not! They zipped and zapped and pinched until they got the key and released the Clones, and then they took over the ship! The pirates were locked out of the cockpit and the mechs found us the nearest Republic fleet. We all had such a hard time believing it actually happened—and no one would believe us! They could not believe someone could possibly be that incompetent!”
Sami looked like they were having a hard time breathing they were laughing so hard, and both Jackie and Marvin had covered their faces.
“…I think Schneep wins for most entertaining story,” Chase suggested. The others only nodded. “Unless Jameson..?”
“I have nothing interesting to tell.”
“…Oh-kay. Our dear droid with the freakin’ comedy gold of dumb pirate stories wins.”
Schneep clasped his hands together, something in his chest chirping.

okay im deleting and reposting this because i put a swear word in the tags and it wasnt even showing up in searches for my personal, and i don’t trust the mobile editor to fix my problems but its time 4 me to make a post
Here's what I’ve got for a Thunderbirds D&D AU! I'm not gonna get into numbers and stats and levels because I do that enough when I play normal d&d and I'm gay and tired. Also, there’s probably gonna be a touch of rule bending not only to reconcile d&d with the Thunderbirds canon but just to boost the fun factor a bit. It’s not like we’re setting up a playable campaign so it doesn’t really matter as long as we’re not making it unrecognisable as part of the d&dverse. At that point, you might as well just call it a fantasy AU (still lit tho lmao). This is mostly TOS based but I’ll add some notes on TAG stuff now and then in italics because I’m here to provide. It’s hefty, so everything's under the cut. Hopefully comprehensible.
IR (presumably going by some other name but we’ll just stick with that for sake of ease) is still a rescue organisation - it operates on a somewhat smaller scale but access to magic means it’s got a pretty big reach for typical d&d technology. It’s centred around an ancient deity that few people have heard of and even fewer worship. There’s only one known temple dedicated to said deity and it had been abandoned for a long time before they found it, so it’s currently being restored - if rather agonizingly slowly. Anyway, IR is deity-based because nothing screams “fight for a cause” like paladins! They’re paladins, mostly, is what I’m saying.
Jeff is likely an ex-adventurer, probably a paladin but I’m seriously considering cleric just for interest’s sake so sue me, I love clerics. His party did some pretty cool stuff back in the day, and adventuring pays well as long as you don’t die, so he’s pretty well off. He left the party and settled down in one place when Scott was born, and the rest of them presumably disbanded and went about their own lives eventually. Or maybe they’re still out there causing a ruckus. Who knows. Pretty easy to just say “and he’s not there anymore” for TAG, rationalise his disappearance as you please. Either way, at some point he decided to start an organisation that would make saving lives a bit more structured than the usual “Let's hope a squad of adventurers stumbles on our predicament” that people have been relying on.
Scott is a Battle Master archetype fighter who multiclassed into paladin. Battle Master provides the most appropriate mechanics for a field leader, and also seems like the sort of thing Scott would have been doing previous to IR. He’s the least proficient spellcaster of the group if only by virtue of his class, but access to paladin magic gives his fighting an extra kick which, along with the Battle Master maneuvers, makes him pretty damn dangerous with a sword. It also means he can cast Find Steed, and because said steed’s form can go beyond normal when permitted by the DM and we’re making the rules here I’m giving him a pegasus, which is about the fastest flying mount you could get as far as the monster manual goes. A roc would just be too much. Very VERY cool. But too much.
Virgil is a College of Lore bard into paladin. When it comes to support classes, nothing beats a College of Lore bard for versatility. He’s got the range, darling. Slap an arsenal of magic items on that and you’re well on your way to the d&d equivalent of Thunderbird 2. He has some good offensive spells and weapon training but mostly works to keep others from getting hurt. With a high constitution, the Tough feat, good armour and a shield he pretty much becomes a mobile wall to be put between danger and anyone who can’t take too many hits. Find Steed again lets me give him something interesting to ride, and what better than an owlbear. A big one. Not quite as appropriate stat-wise as the pegasus for Scott but when it comes to aesthetics I’m yet to find something as good as a bear-shaped and -sized owl.
John is predominantly a Divination wizard, with a low paladin level - two maximum - giving him access to a lot of powerful magic but leaving him, how do you say, squishy. Divination is gameplay-wise pretty underwhelming, with not many spells to its name, but for someone whose job is centred around keeping an eye on things, the ability to see very far away and receive premonitions is gonna be useful. The system by which distress calls are sent is giving me some concept trouble but when it comes to receiving it’s as easy as a focus with some capability to project images and sound, gear already necessary to cast Scrying. So, as in canon, rather than going out on missions (at least for the most part), it’s John’s job to keep tabs on incoming signals and active operations. This is all based in the previously mentioned temple - out of the way enough to let me call it a T5 equivalent. He also has the secondary job of making sure nothing else tries to take up residence in the decrepit building. They had to clear it of goblins the first time. As far as Eos goes I don’t have room for all my thoughts (so many) but let’s call her a sentient magic item. Additionally, TAG John probs gets a level or two in cleric.
Gordon is a paladin into druid, Circle of the Land (Coast). He and Alan didn't have any previous class levels before becoming paladins. Neither of his classes give any bonuses for it beyond proficiency for paladins but nobody can stop me from making his primary weapon a longbow, plus the Sharpshooter feat is helpful. Coast druid is the only subclass of any d&d class that has a specific focus on water and what could go wrong if we let him turn into animals? It also has some good circle spells, when he gets to that point. He’d probably have a lot of fun with Mirror Image. There was probably an incident that catalysed his becoming a druid, I'd like to think it's the equivalent of the boat crash just placed on a different point in the timeline. Might get into it at a later date.
Alan is just pure paladin, it's all he's really had time to do with his life so far beyond being a kid and growing up, y'know? I’ll get a little into the subclass here, all of IR’s 3rd level or higher paladins take Oath of Devotion. From the PHB: “These paladins meet the ideal of the knight in shining armor, acting with honor in pursuit of justice and the greater good.” Devotion’s core tenets are honesty, courage, compassion, honor, and duty. Also their Channel Divinity: Sacred Weapon is just really cool. Who doesn’t like glowing stuff, man. Alan's got some more powerful paladin abilities than any of his brothers but probably has the lowest total level regardless. Giving him the Athlete feat, which lets him jump and climb a lot easier, feels appropriate. He snuck a griffon home when it was a baby, and is trying to train it. It's not very well behaved and causes a ruckus when it gets bored but he adores it. One day it’ll make a phenomenal companion. For now, it will continue to attempt to eat his fingers.
Brains is an artificer! Love that class. Artificers, rather than casting spells (though they can do that), make magic items. The artificer class is from Unearthed Arcana and a lot of the mechanics can be hit or miss, it’s been revised many times by lots of different people. But when it comes to the basic idea, it’s the obvious choice for Brains. The less common a magic item, the longer it takes and harder it is to make. The higher level an artificer the more, and more powerful, their creations are. Pretty simple. Also pretty much every version of artificer you come across has some sort of option for a mechanical companion so there’s MAX for you.
Tin-Tin is also an artificer, with a few levels in paladin for good measure. Her time is split between making and repairing gear and going out on missions, and when on call is incredibly useful for lightning fixes and is incredibly creative when it comes to the ways magic items (and nonmagic items) can be used to get out of predicaments. This is the character who constantly has Inspiration. Kayo is an Assassin archetype rogue into paladin. Assassins do… a lot of damage. If you know much about d&d rules (I don’t expect you to), the only thing scarier than a bard, stat wise, is a rogue. +10 to stealth is pretty easy to get by 5th level, combine that with Sneak Attack and Assassinate and you can deal up to 26 damage in one hit with a dagger alone. I said I wouldn’t do any maths but I lied.
Penny doesn’t necessarily have any class levels, though rogue would be appropriate. She falls more under the NPC umbrella, somewhere between Noble and Spy, perhaps? NPCs have a lot less restrictions when it comes to what they can and can’t do laterally, but it’s harder to make them powerful without assigning a class. I also think it’d be really neat to use the fantasy setting to make her nonhuman. High elf would be fitting and cool, but she’d also make a fantastic tiefling. Though, like, call me biased, everyone would make a fantastic tiefling.
I think that’s all I’ve got to say on the matter right now. I have a lot more specific details that I’ll get to eventually but this post is more of a jumping off point listing some options for anyone else who might want to mess around with a d&d AU but doesn’t know where to start. Pick out things you like, ditch things you don’t, add whatever sounds cool, and honestly? Congratulations on getting through this whole thing. This post is kind of in shambles. And thanks! I love taking any excuse to pore over these books.
Shoot me an ask or something if anything’s too incomprehensible or there’s something up with the formatting. Later, skaters.

Rules for mobile users
[[here’s a google doc for the updated list of rules, applicable for all my blogs]]
anything under this cut is from my outdated rules.
[rules updated: 07/28/2019]
–STUFF YOU SHOULD DO–
• No godmodding. No sending (implied or explicit) homophobic/transphobic/bigoted messages to me or my character either.
• Please don’t over-pester me for replies. I promise I’ll get to them. Feel free to drop me a reminder after at least a week of no replies, though. In return, I usually give you a week too, unless otherwise specified in your own rules, until I remind you if it’s your turn to reply (or more often, I chicken out and trust that you’ll eventually respond/want to drop it and end up never bringing up that particular thread ever again). You’re always free to start multiple threads with me, that is greatly encouraged because I love having lots of threads with people.
• If you start getting bored with the roleplay, feel free to drop it and/or end it. We can always start up another thread in the future.
• However, please let me know if you want to drop a roleplay thread! It can give me major anxiety when I’m waiting for a response that’s never going to come, and I wonder if I did something wrong and assume that’s why you’re not replying anymore :’) I’m not forcing you to let me know if you want to drop a thread, you can drop it without saying anything too. But I personally really appreciate being told about that sort of thing.
• Don’t reblog a thread you’re not part of. This should go without being said, of course. Personals will be hardblocked immediately, rp blogs will receive a warning.
• If you can trim your threads, please do! It’s fine if you can’t, though, because I will most likely trim the thread for you. If you don’t trim threads with other people, however, I’ll be less likely to follow you since I don’t like scrolling through long posts.
• Please don’t claim any of my art as your own. If you post it somewhere, the least you can do is credit me by at least including a link to my blog or something. Bonus points if you ask me first before reposting my art, but I understand if you’re anxious because so am I :’)
• If any of your art is featured on my blog, as an icon or something and you don’t want me to use your art, please tell me!!! Message me privately or contact me in some way and please let me know that you want your art taken down. As a fellow artist, I understand wanting other people to not use your art (although I am personally fine with it as long as proper credit is given,) but if you’re more strict about it than I am, that’s totally okay too! Just let me know, and I’ll stop using your art immediately, will delete all icons I have of your art, as well as delete every single instance of your art being used on this blog.
• That being said, if you’re following me, please let me know if I’m doing something that’s making you uncomfortable or is breaking one of your rules!! I do read the rules pages of everyone, but I’m human and forget things, and I’m not a mind reader either ;~; I care, so please tell me if I’m ever doing anything bad
• You can reply to any of my open starters at any time! Even if they’re a year old! Even if other people have already replied to it! My open starters are open for a reason, and we don’t have to be mutuals for you to reply to them either :’)
–STUFF YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND–
• I am of age to do smut, but Kris is a minor so that is a no for this blog! There will occasionally be sex jokes, but that’s about it. No explicit smut in this house.
• This blog is not a spoiler-free one. I will not tag roleplays with spoilers, but anything else will be tagged with Deltarune Spoilers
• I’m alright with roleplaying nsfw in general, minus smut. Gore, violence, and generally dark roleplays are cool with me. I love angsty things just as much as I love fluff ;w; Speaking of gore, you’re more than welcome to fight/harm/injure my muse to any extent! You don’t even have to ask! Come in and fight this gremlin tbh! If you want to do a rp where they die, however, please dm me first.
• I prefer not to roleplay with personals, unless you are someone I know from school or something like that. Personals in general are allowed to follow me too!  However! Personals are not allowed to reblog roleplays, in character posts, or ooc posts especially if I say in the tags that I’m going to delete the post later. Only things that are tagged with my “online reblogs” or “musings” or "art tag" tags are okay to reblog. Headcanon posts are not okay to reblog unless I say otherwise.
• Like spamming is okay! I very occasionally lose roleplays, and getting lots of notes from likes are never a factor for that, for me personally. If I lose a roleplay, it’s mostly just because I forgot, so that’s really a “me” thing. I’m usually very good at keeping track of who I’m roleplaying with and how many ongoing threads I have, and I reply pretty consistently, so just remind me if I haven’t responded after five or more days (as stated in one of the above rules)! And I like it when people like my posts! It lets me know that you like my blog and the stuff I post, and it makes me happy :’)
• If you are an OC, I will assume our muses have never met unless you plan ahead with me what their relationship is like.
• That being said, characters who have already interacted in canon will know each other. Unless the roleplay takes place in a different point of time and we are staging their first meeting, of course.
• Kris will be pretty meta sometimes. They are aware of who Players are (they're definitely not fond of them other than the few good players they've met), and they know they live in the game world, and are aware of alternate universes and things of that nature.
• Kris is nonbinary on this blog. Although, I don’t care if you refer to them as a boy or a girl (Kris personally will care if you refer to them as a girl though, because they usually Don’t like that). Their order of preference for pronouns is they/he/she, although they will definitely like you more if you use exclusively they/them pronouns. I respect all headcanons about Kris’ gender, and same goes for any Frisks and Charas. If you play a KFC kid, gendered or not, I will use the pronouns they want used, and I do hope that you use they/them pronouns for my Kris. I personally will default to using they/them for other Krises, Frisks, and Charas unless specified on your blog. No discourse about this, please.
• Doubles are welcome to interact too! Of course they are, considering the Kris Squad. I’m also cool with interacting with and following multiple blogs who portray the same character other than Krises as well!
• This blog will not have mains. However, the only “main” they really have is the Berdly over at @berdbrainx. That Berdly originates in their timeline in the “main verse.” Other than him, they will not have any specific version of a muse that they’ll talk about in threads, unless the thread is specifically about that one muse for some reason. For Deltarune non-Kris blogs, they will typically be the Kris in your universe unless you already have a Kris main or you talk about it with me beforehand. Doubles of Kris will be treated as alternates. In their “main verse” in spontaneous roleplays/asks/replies to in-character posts (online roleplays), they reside in their own separate timeline. It’s a classic timeline that doesn’t have any other muses in it, so they don’t have a specific blog’s Susie, or Noelle, or other character that is from their own timeline. So they will treat your muse as if they are an alternate of their own timeline’s counterpart of them.
• I’m pretty lenient with short replies. Don’t feel pressured to match the length if my reply gets long! Multi-para (usually 2-5 paragraphs) is my go-to for roleplays, so I usually do long replies by default.
• Adding onto that, I honestly don’t mind one-liners. Of course, in crack/online roleplays it’s fine but I’m okay with it in serious roleplays too. I prefer it if you don’t give me one-liners, but hey, as long as I’m still having fun with the roleplay anyway, it’s cool with me! I understand not being able to think of anything to write, so just as long as you don’t give me one or two words as your reply like ‘He smiled.’ or ’*laughs*’, I’ll be cool with it. Put at least some effort even if you’re only gonna give me one sentence, otherwise I’ll drop the rp once it becomes a repeat offense.
• I will not change the formatting of my roleplays to fit yours. I’m comfortable with sticking to only paragraph style roleplays, thank you very much. Feel free to keep formatting your own posts though, because I think formatting looks really cool! I just don’t want to format my posts, however. I will not go all out with formatting my own posts with all that cool ‘small text’, and indents, and bolding and all that. The most I ever do with my formatting is italics for emphasis on certain words, and using icons.
• I tend to move roleplays from asks onto its own post. If I send you an ask meme and you answer it, I'll respond by making a new post, tagging you, and linking to your reply. Until formatting on asks are fixed, I will answer any asks sent to me in a new text post rather than asks.
• I accept any sort of asks! If they aren’t answered after a while, either I don’t know how to answer it or I might be drawing it out and I am a very slow artist- Sorry-
• Feel free to tag me in any of those tagging memes! I don’t mind and I think they’re pretty fun to do! ^^
• Adding onto the above rule, you’re more than welcome to send me those chain asks like “send this to 10 roleplayers you think are really great!” because it’s super duper nice that you would think to send one to me! But don’t expect me to send them to other people, because I won’t :’) my anxiety won’t let me, so I’m sorry-
• If I follow you, that means I’ve already read all of your rules. I might not send the codephrase, though, because most of the time I get very anxious over having to send things like that. I’m very sorry–! But if I follow you then chances are that I have definitely read them before following- If you choose not to trust me on this, I understand.
• I generally follow every rp blog that follows me, but I might not follow some people back for a few reasons. Some might be for the type of content you post on your blog, but I am still non-selective! I will roleplay with anyone who asks (unless you wanna rp gross things or you’re a mean person,,,, like your muse can be as much of a dick as you want, that’s no problem but don’t be gross to other people as yourself) and if I do roleplay with you, I will be more likely to follow you as well.
• Adding onto the above rule, however, please respect that it’s nothing personal if I ever unfollow you either! It’s not that I hate you or anything, but if you haven’t followed me back and you’re a private rp blog, or if we’re mutuals but never really roleplay, our muses just don’t click, you spam stuff that I don’t want to see on my dash, or you’ve become inactive for years and/or don’t interact with me anymore, there’s nothing wrong with that! We can still be friends but I prefer to have all the people I follow be potential rp partners. Feel free to follow me on my personal, @briightskies, if you still wanna keep in touch but not rp :’)
–ABOUT THIS BLOG–
• This blog is OC, multiverse, and crossover friendly! I love OCs and have many of my own tbh, you’re all more than welcome to come rp with me!!
• I’ll also rp with fandoms I’m not into either, as long as you have a good about section for your character, which also indicates how you portray them (any headcanons or AUs you have that aren’t canon, or whether you portray them as canonly as possible, unless they’re OCs of course since a regular about page is a given) and I’ll probably look up other things about that fandom in its wiki if I don’t know what something is anyway.
• This blog is multiship! So any relationships my muse is involved in, are in different timelines unless specified. Poly relationships aren’t bad though, just saying. I ship pretty much anything unless it’s incest or if they’re children paired with someone a lot older. Selfcest is fine too. Because Kris is a minor, they won’t really get intimate with their partners, but romantic stuff is a-okay.
• I also only ship with chemistry. My muses need to get to know yours first, so don’t get disappointed if they only see you as a friend/acquaintance at first and has no intention of pursuing a romantic relationship with your muse. Give my muse reasons to care about your muse and let the feelings develop naturally, and don’t ever force your muse on mine. Unless it’s to mess with them, or whatever other reason. Unrequited stuff is absolutely okay with me too!
• I will tag common triggers and such, but don’t be afraid to tell me if you have something you want me to tag! I promise I’ll remember to tag it from then on. I do not have any known triggers myself. Any trigger warning tags will be written as “tw; ____” with a semi-colon, not a colon. If I feel like something should be tagged as a trigger but I’m not sure what to tag it exactly, I’ll just tag it as “tw” as a sort of catch-all tag.
|     Requested tagged triggers:
tw; gore
tw; contagious diseases
tw; self harm
tw; child abuse
tw; spiders
tw; blood
tw; homestuck
tw; fnaf
tw; drugs
tw; smoking
tw; alcohol
tw; needles
• I will only talk through the IM system ooc. If you send me a message through there, I will not respond with ooc brackets ((these things)) because I will automatically assume you know that you’re talking to the mun. I do not do roleplays on there.
-
Thank you for reading this really long list of rules! It means a lot if you did!
There’s no password, because I’m also anxious with those for other people’s blogs as I said above. But if you would like to interact with me, you can shoot me an ask directed to my muse, or like one of my starter call posts at any time (also feel free to re-like those posts so I can make another starter for you at any time!) for me to write you a starter!

For Deltarune blogs, he will typically be the Berdly in your muse’s timeline in serious roleplays, unless your muse is part of an AU/UA/canon-divergent universe, or there are things about your muse’s backstory that would contradict Berdly being in your timeline naturally (like Berdly being dead or something), or you talk about it with me beforehand. In his “main verse” in spontaneous roleplays/asks/replies to in-character posts, he resides in his own separate timeline. Because Berdly is a minor, he won’t really get intimate with his partners, but romantic stuff is a-okay.
• I also only ship with chemistry. My muses need to get to know yours first, so don’t get disappointed if he only sees you as a friend/acquaintance at first and has no intention of pursuing a romantic relationship with your muse. Give my muse reasons to care about your muse and let the feelings develop naturally, and don’t ever force your muse on mine. Unless it’s to mess with him, or whatever other reason.
|     Requested tagged triggers:
tw; gore
tw; spiders
tw; insects
tw; blood
tw; homestuck
tw; smoking
tw; drugs
tw; alcohol
tw; needles
tw; oceans
tw; cutting
duplicates // (if anyone else has a specific way they want something tagged that's different from my tagging style, please let me know)
tw; zombies
tw; bats
tw; maggots
tw; sibling death
tw; sibling peril

RP Policy Guide - Please Read
(AND USE YOURSELF! TAG ME. MOBILE MAKES READING ABOUT PAGES DIFFICULT.)
(Stolen from OP, stevethevehicon‌)
Bold all that apply to you and your blog. Italics if you’re on the fence about something. Either reblog or repost. Feel free to add anything I may have missed in the appropriate category, or re-categorize something that is in the wrong place!
My blog is _______
+ Open to all + Semi-selective + Selective + Highly selective + Exclusive + Semi-exclusive + Only going to RP with mutuals + Will RP with anyone + Indie + Affiliated with a group + Spoiler free + Spoilers tagged + Not spoiler free - (It’s been 18 years, man.) (No matter your writing style, skill, experience, etc, I would love to RP with you as long as I see an effort. RP is like a dance of words. I can lead and follow, if you so wish, but I’m not going to drag.)
I will RP with ______
+ Any fandom + Most fandoms + Only fandoms I know + Only people in my fandom + OCs that are well written & include detailed info pages. + OCs with no fandom ties + OCs who are related to / know my character in their + backstory + Only one version of any particular character + People who have the same muse as me + People who do not have a rules page + Multimuse blogs - (I’ll likely only rp with one to not confuse things.) + Only people in my RP group + Indie RPers
(I’m very open to a lot of crossovers, AUs, OCs, etc. However, I may have difficulties to adapting to certain fandoms/verses especially if I have no prior knowledge to them. I can try, but if it’s not working out I’ll likely back out. Example: A MLP or Carebear Walton...Nightmare or Deathteddy...it’s 99% not going to happen. Concerning OCs - I’m not a fan of OC x Canon relationships (familial, romantic) without buildup or an OOC agreement. Please discuss with me so we can either adapt our interpretations of my current canon muse to fit both of our lores...or come to amicable terms if it does not work out.)
When RPing, I like to use _______
+ Paragraphs + Shorter forms of text + *Action* + Icons + Gifs + Gif icons + Formatted text - + Whatever my partner is using + My own style regardless of my partner’s reply (Minus applicable bolding, italicizing, caps, etc for emphasis or story I do not format text. It works well in Forum RPs were there are multiple muses interacting at once, but in my experience on Tumblr it’s more of a bother. *coughs* And an assault on typography. Especially on mobile where formatting depends on what the staff had for breakfast that day. I do enjoy gifs as answers for crack threads/asks though.)
I will ship with _______
+ No one + Anyone + Chemistry + Select ships + OCs + Others of my own muse + Crossovers with characters from different universes + Only one version of a particular character + I’m not interested in shipping, but I may end up being open to it if something ends up happening. (I really do not find my muse a ship-able character, but I’d be lying if I said I dislike the possibility of a romantic ship (I say romantic, because I’m ALL up in the hateship/friendship/battle-buddy area). In the rare occasion we do legitimately develop a ship (your canon verse or my canon verse, babe) I will very likely make WS exclusive to your muse. I do not expect exclusivity in return. WS does though, hahaha. Note: I really prefer it to be unplanned. Surprise me. I might surprise you. It’s all about the RP-developed chemistry, so if it doesn’t work it’s 100% awesome. Furthermore, I RP Walton as a heterosexual male except in...maybe two verses but hush hush. ICARUS (digital or made android) on the other hand goes every which way and back again, but it’s going to be loveless as all hell.)
My blog may contain ______ in its content
+ Fluff + Angst + Gore + Violence + Smut + Blood + Torture + Shipping + Death + Dark humor + Cheating - (WS is loyal.) + Assault (I do not care for gratuitousness, but there will very definitely be dark topics on this blog. I will not write OR engage in smut related topics concerning minors. Do note that if you are under 18 that does not mean I will not write with you...I will just not write with you about sensitive topics.)
I will follow ______ back
+ Everyone + Only some people + Only people in my fandom + Every RP blog + Only people I actively wish to RP with + People who do not post a lot of OOC + People whose posts I am comfortable with on my dashboard (I pretty much follow back every RP blog that follows me as long as I see that you make an effort in your writing with other muses/muns. I’m not very fond of a lot of OOC and I will likely not follow back if there is a whole lot of NSFW going around. I check my Tumblr on work breaks and I don’t need bossman seeing porn on my phone if they happen to see it in the breakroom.)
To RP with me, you should _______
+ Follow back + Answer an open + Message me OOC + Message me IC + Make a starter + Answer my starter   + Send in a meme  + Like my ‘like for a starter’ posts
(I love it when people reply to my answers or leave open ended answers on their meme answers. You can message me OOC but, again, I love RPing with new people, and if you pop in my askbox or reblog an ask of mine I’ll very likely start something up with you. I don’t bite. Walton does.)
Other:
+ I practice reblog karma with memes most of the time + I expect reblog karma with memes + I expect my rules / about to be read + I always read the rules / about before following + I always read the rules / about before first rp engagement. + If you follow me, I would like my triggers tagged with what I have in my rules page. + I expect all NSFW to be tagged as such. I will unfollow if it is not. + I will tag and / or place under a readmore any content type requested. + I am a multiverse / AU friendly blog + I do not wish for my OOC posts to be reblogged. + I do not mind my threads to be reblogged by those not involved, but please do not add any comments in the post itself. Keep them to tags. + I don’t expect post length to be matched; quality over quantity always, but don’t respond to a few paragraphs with a handful of sentences. + I expect icons / gifs to be used in a reply if I have used them
(I don’t expect it, but I find reblog karma good form. I will do my best to read your about/rules page when I am able to (mobile). Please message me if I misunderstand anything. I kindly request you familiarize yourself with Walton Simons either via my page or his wikia before you interact just enough so that you know that he’s male and technically a final boss and a secret H+ - augmented human - because if your character introduces themselves by setting WS on fire or telling him that he has a crackin’ pair of tits you’re gonna have another thing coming. (...might actually be pretty funny, but it’s a peeve of mine when “power levels” are not respected. I’ll respect your muse, please respect the capabilities of mine. I will never intentionally godmod. Ever.)

how i make moodboards!
If you want to start making aesthetics/moodboards, you’ve come to the right place! Under the cut is a foolproof step-by-step plan I always follow to make them! Trust me lol, I had to figure all of this out myself.
Step 1: Choosing a theme
The great thing about moodboards is that they can be based on so many things! The possibilities are pretty much endless. Typically, the theme of a moodboard is one of these, though:
* an object
* a period of time (ie. months/seasons)
* an event or historical occurrence (concert, women’s march, etc)
* a color scheme
* a specific aesthetic (ie. vintage, artsy)
bonus: moodboards can also be based on people’s names, which I find to be extremely cool!
Step 2: Collecting images
what pictures do I choose?
If you’ve taken photographs you’d like to include in a moodboard, that’s always a really good option! By doing that, you’re ensuring no one will get mad at your use of their photo in another post. What I typically find to be easier, though, is searching Tumblr or Google for photos of the theme I’ve chosen. (Tip: A good way to find nice, good-quality pictures of what you’re looking for is to add “aesthetic” at the end of your search.) Make sure to choose photos that go well together; usually, your moodboard will look nicer if the photos in it are similar in color/style.
how do i save images?
Usually, I get all of my photos from Tumblr. On mobile, there’s a very easy way to save pictures that you’d like to use in a moodboard (or just in general). Simply select the image by pressing and holding your finger to the screen, and your phone will give you the option “Save Image.” Voila! Your image has been saved!
stealing??
Important!! If you find a post that explicitly states “do not repost,” please don’t! It’s extremely disrespectful to them and their work. It’s sort of a known rule that you shouldn’t repost someone’s art, too, even if the caption doesn’t say anything against it. There can be exceptions, though, so if you’re worried about stealing art it’s always better to message the artist and ask for permission. I’ve posted art in moodboards before, but I’m always selective about the art I choose. Try not to do it at all if you can help it.
how many photos should I save?
You’ll need nine images to fill a standard moodboard, but Tumblr allows you to post 10 at a time. I always like to pick out around a dozen pictures just in case some end up not working out.
important note:
I didn’t realize this for so long, and I’d like to save you from the sinking realization that your moodboard isn’t a perfect square. It might just be something that bothers me, but there’s a definite way to ensure your board is perfectly positioned, and it’s just about picking the right pictures. Make sure you never choose any photos that are too wide and short to be a square. If the photo is too long vertically, that’s fine, because Tumblr will automatically format it to a square (so long as at least one image in the row is a square).
Step 2.5: People (Optional)
You also have the option of basing your moodboard off of a person, whose picture is typically included in it. Because my account is specifically for Dodie, all of mine are centered around her! You pretty much use the same process as you would finding any other picture, but it can sometimes be harder to find a picture of that person that fits your theme. If so, no worries! You can always edit the coloring of images, improvise with another picture, or change the type of photos you’re getting! (An example of the latter: changing the shade of pink you’re using, or the theme altogether)
Step 3: Formatting
Now that you’ve gotten your pictures and theme sorted, it’s time to put everything together! This is usually the point where I start to realize none of my pictures go together— If that happens to you, take a short trip back to Step 2 and get pictures that fit better.
As I mentioned before, a standard moodboard consists of nine pictures, arranged in a 3 x 3 form. However, it isn’t just “stick them all in and you’re done.” For me, at least, it definitely takes a bit of time to arrange everything the way I want it. I try to separate pictures that are too similar or have too many of the same colors because they can be distracting if they’re clumped in one spot. For example, this is a rose-gold moodboard I made the other day:
Tumblr media
As you can see, the photos surrounding Dodie are all a little more pink than the outside ones are. I placed them like this to make it seem more intentional and symmetrical, and this way none of the pink pictures touch.
Step 4: Phone a friend (Optional but recommended)
Now, listen. This isn’t to criticize your work in the slightest, but you’ve been looking at the same set of photos for God knows how long. It always helps me to get a fresh pair of eyes to check the moodboard over. Usually, if anything’s wrong it will pop out immediately to your friend, because they’ve never seen it before (plus they didn’t make it!). They’re the betas of your work, and though it isn’t necessary to have one, it’s always helpful to spot errors you haven’t thought of/seen. If you don’t have anyone to check it over, I’d recommend leaving it be for a while. When you come back to it later, you might see things you hadn’t before. I tend to do the work at night and come back to it in the morning, but that’s just me! Find a system that works for you, and enjoy what you’re doing! That applies to everything in life, but like, you know.
edit: Many people also find it easier to use apps other than Tumblr to format their moodboards! They make sure all pictures are the correct size without the struggle Tumblr mobile presents. A life saver, @colorful-dodie, recommended Picsart, which I totally agree with! It’s what I use whenever I make split moodboards (look for a future post on that!) Also, they recommend you use Afterlight and/or VSCO to change the coloring of a picture!
Step 5: Tagging and Posting
(credit to @colorful-dodie for bringing this up!)
Tagging is quite possibly the most important part of the entire process! If you don’t tag your posts correctly, they may not get many notes and you won’t get the feedback and encouragement you need to make more! My advice: tag the heck out of all of your moodboards.
I will admit, I did go quite overboard in my first few posts (I spent more time tagging than making the moodboard!) but it was really helpful in getting my account discovered by other Dodie fans.
what should i tag my posts with?
Probably the most important thing to tag your post with is the topic or theme you chose, and the person or object you centered it around. That way, you can be found and supported by other aesthetic/fandom accounts, and it will motivate you to keep making your moodboards! Don’t be afraid to do strange variations of each and every tag, too- I spent my earlier evenings figuring out how else to say “dodie green aesthetic” and “dodie green moodboard” for a month before it really paid off.
so is it time to post?
Yes, if you’ve followed all of the steps listed above, you should be totally set! Good luck with your new hobby, and be sure to take advantage of all of the friends and tips it brings you! Have fun!!

Chapter Seventeen: Trust
Cinder’s life revolved around the garage, working as a mechanic, until that one male student came in looking for a Mercedes and changed her life… AU AH Kaider story. Enjoy!
A/N: Want a fic? I posted this elsewhere 3 months ago and only just found out as i was posting another chapter, ahh, sorry!! Not that anyone cares but still. Also, this was a right pain to format on mobile, ugh.
Cinder's heart falters as she watches Kai literally stumble away from their conversation.
She can't think after he leaves, she can't get the image of his contained tears out of her mind, she can't focus on anything other than what could have happened. She doesn't even trust herself to try and come up with a plan for the rest of the day.
"Cinder?" Iko asks tentatively, clearly sensing that something is wrong.
"Hey, Iko," Cinder replies, sighing.
Iko raises an eyebrow and places her hands on her hips. "Alright, spill. What happened with Mr Sexy Barista?"
Cinder cracks a small smile at the title but then shakes her head again. "It's nothing."
"If that were true, you wouldn't still be polishing that wrench ten minutes later."
She blushes, caught oil-handed, and places said wrench on the table, sighing as she turns to Iko with a grateful look. "He left."
"He broke up with you?" Iko asks, her voice neutral but her eyes threatening to explode with rage.
Quickly, Cinder shakes her head. "No!"
Iko's relief is honestly almost as intense as Cinder's curiosity. By the time Cinder's thrown out some explanatory words and Iko has understood the situation, the two of them are equally as confused about and worried for Kai.
Cinder stays silent as Iko paces and mutters things to herself because, while she can usually work out people's motives and judge their character, she's absolutely rubbish at figuring out emotions and feelings, especially when it's someone she actually likes, even more so when it's someone she truly cares about.
"If I had to guess," Iko says eventually, "I'd say it wasn't anything you did directly."
"Iko, there was nobody else here, who else could it have been?"
"No, I mean, you probably just reminded him of something else. If it was you, he wouldn't have made an effort to be polite before leaving, would he?"
"I don't know; people are confusing."
Iko snorts in amusement but recovers quickly, clearing her throat. "Look, he'll come back. Just wait for him."
Cinder bites her lip but she knows Iko is intelligent and can be trusted when it comes to boys so she nods and exhales. Well, she nods, exhales and stops whatever she's trying to achieve by passive-aggressively cleaning random tools. Iko finds someone to cover for her and she trudges back to the place she wishes she didn't have to call home. Luckily, Adri has no chores for her yet so she can go back to her room, almost missing the fact that her laptop is back on her bed.
"What?" she asks the air, then scrambles to plug the laptop in and switch it on.
As soon as the home screen fades into view, she opens tumblr, needing to message Kai, needing to ask him if he's okay. The ten seconds it takes for the website to load could be ten years for how slow they seem to go by but it matters not because then she's logged in and finding Kai's blog like it's a second nature to her.
-kai?
-are you okay?
And then, after a moment's hesitation...
-did i do something wrong?
Not surprisingly, she doesn't immediately get a reply back.
It takes over an hour for a reply to come through, during which Cinder aimlessly rearranges her room and makes sure everything is organised enough to satisfy even the pickiest of the organised. She jumps when she sees the little light flashing even though she'd been expecting it to happen.
-My apologies for leaving so abruptly.
-I needed to clear my head.
-You did nothing wrong, don't worry, princess!
-are u sure?
-Of course.
-im almost sure ur just saying that to make me feel better
-What a ridiculous suggestion...
-it's ok, you don't have to tell me anything
-just...
-i'm sorry, ok?
-A comma? You must be sincere.
-Thank you.
-shut up
-Make me!
Cinder blinks. She's only ever seen couples say that to each other, and it's usually just before they kiss or something. She doesn't know what she's meant to say to that, whether she's expected to do something romantic in return, and she's about to panic when Kai saves her.
-Did I do it right?
-I've seen people say that and I figured it was a more interesting response than a simple denial.
-My apologies if I did it wrong.
-u scared me
-I scared you?
-i dont know why i told you that. nvm
-If it's any help, you don't need to make me shut up. I'm not even talking...
-oh, bc ur typing?
-very original
-It worked, didnt it?
-depends
-You stopped being scared, right?
She laughs. He's right, it did work. She replaced her anxiety with exasperation and it worked. If it was anyone else, she'd probably be annoyed at them having figured her out so quickly. For some reason or the other, she finds herself being amused at Kai instead of irked, and she appreciates him instead of being irritated with him. She makes a mental note to ask Iko about that tomorrow before shifting her attention back to Kai's message.
-you wish
-Goodnight, Princess.
-And thank you.
-For understanding.
-are u okay? ur using three messages for one sentence
-I'm slightly in a rush...
-so ur solution is to send more messages?
-No, my solution is to send fragments.
-So that I don't leave you with awkward silence.
-I really have to go.
-Can't wait to check up on the car!
-me too
-okay i guess ur gone
-bye
Cinder's mind immediately tells her that saying 'me too' was a bad idea but she ignores it, instead focusing on her relief that Kai is okay.
She shuts the computer down so no battery is wasted and flops down onto her bed, sighing happily. She's done a lot of happy sighing lately, mostly because of Kai and his adorable eccentricities, but she won't complain because she likes the rush of warmth in her heart every time she sees his smile, the comfort she finds in his eyes, the sparks she feels every time they're close to one another.
With a start, she realises she might have found someone to trust. Trust doesn't come easily to her but, with Kai, she's all but ready to give him everything. And it scares her. Cinder's trust is the key to a friendship with her but it's also a weapon that she's giving away, making herself vulnerable. As her eyes become heavy and start to close, she just hopes that trusting Kai won't be a mistake. She hopes it's worth it in the end and, frankly, she'd never hoped for anything more.
like/reblog but don't repost, thanks!

mobile-friendly rules
GENERAL INFO
❔ #getinthefunvee
❔ semi-private:  will generally only write with mutuals, but very happy to meet new people.
❔ exclusivity:  is pre-pubescent and used as a cliquey gatekeeping & ostracising mechanism 99% of the time. I do not practice character or ship exclusivity; I will side-eye you if you do, and I will not tolerate it on my dash, and I will lay the verbal smack-down if I see you using it to bully someone else. I've been playing with some muns for nearly 5 years, and at least one for more than a decade; if anyone was going to be an exclusive, it would be those friends, but exclusivity = possessiveness and it's really, really not the way to roll your adult relationships. Note: if you choose to make me your exclusive Tony for any reason (ie, if you generally hate Tony interaction and want to avoid it, emotional safety reasons, whatever) please give me a heads up. Please be aware that, as stated above, I will not do exclusivity in return.
❔ basic etiquette:  human decency is expected. Do not attempt to god-mod (it's so 90s), force-ship, engage in pass-aggro nastiness, harassment, or any other asshattery. Thanks.
❔  Personals et al are very welcome to follow and 'like' RP posts and to reblog non-RP content. Please don't reblog RP threads you aren't participating in; it's creepy, and I will call you out on it.
❔ multi-muse, side & personal journals:  I will not follow you back if you run a multi-muse blog or RP from your persona that heavily features muses from fandoms I’m not familiar withl; I really need to limit dash clutter in order to be able to focus. (ADD & autism are gr8 that way.) That doesn't mean I won't RP with you on your multi-muse blog, and I'm very happy to RP with side blogs, but I will not RP with personals.
❔ OCs, female characters, obscure canon characters:  This shouldn’t need to be said, but: Yes please! I look for fully-formed characters whose creation you've put thought into; this goes for 'popular' canon characters in equal measure.
❔ crossovers:  Please check with me first to make sure I'm familiar with your fandom.
❔ cut your replies:  Please cut your replies & repost asks as new posts when replying. (note: this is not the same as 'read mores'; I'm happy to explain the difference.) I will not follow you if you never cut your replies.
❔  You must have rules or, at the very least, your age stated somewhere on your blog. I will always read your rules before interacting, and I ask that you please do the same.
ABOUT THIS BLOG
❕  est Dec 2012
❕  21 or over for intermittent content which may not always be tagged; I will generally not play with you if you are under 21 as I may not be comfortable writing certain content [because I'll feel like a dinosaur]. I will not RP with anyone under 18 years old, regardless of thread content or your geographical location's 'legal age.' This is not up for discussion, though I'm happy to explain the legal ramifications (for you and your RP partners around the world) of lying about your age. tl;dr I'm not going to jail so you can have smut. Thanks.
❕ safe space:  This blog is fiercely inclusive. I make a point of avoiding ableist or bigoted language and terminology. Please come talk to me in chat or send an ask and tell me if I screw up. note: If you ever need to talk about anything, or if you're having a really bad day, I'm here for you & wouldn't want you to feel alone. Seriously. Come talk to me. I do have chat set to mutuals only thanks to the huge influx of spam messages I was getting, but you can always unfollow me after we’re done talking (I won’t be upset) or send me an ask if that's easier.
❕ triggers:  I will tag genuine triggers when asked (please don't conflate squicks with triggers). I don't have any triggers, but I prefer not to see child abuse, domestic violence, incest, or pregnancy on my dash; if you regularly include that content, I will generally unfollow. Please see below for a comprehensive list. Triggers will be tagged 'triggery thing tw' and added to the tag dump post.
❕ formatting:  usually no fancier than small text +/- 66x66 or 100x100 icon (depending on the size you use), but I will try to match your style. If you need any special formatting to make it easier for you to read, please tell me. I'm very happy to comply.
❕ pre-established relationships:  I'm happy to discuss these.
❕ readmores:  used rarely, but will always use for explicit dubcon/noncon content & graphic stuff.
❕ memes:  generally mutuals only but will always be tagged as 'mutuals only', so if you don't see that, feel free to interact. I do my best to observe reblog karma but don't expect you to; it's all good.
❕ open posts:  will be tagged clearly; generally open only to mutuals, sometimes character-specific (will specify in tags).
❕ shipping:  multiship; not ship exclusive. Shipping is dependent wholly on muse interaction and never guaranteed. Tony is demiromantic and pansexual; he may or may not be open to poly setups depending on verse. He's experimental, inclusive, and flexible. Got a kink? Bring it. BDSM? He'll want to know your safeword. Three/four/eightway? He's probably into it. That in mind, I'm on the ace spectrum (see below) so mature-content threads aren't going to be that common and will generally, though not always, fade to black.
YES PLEASE
✅  duplicates, multiple 'canon' realities, AUs, cross-fandom, What Ifs
✅  crossovers, especially within Marvel & DC
✅  AUs: love, love, love. Give me your tropey coffee shop AU; better yet, give me your research-worthy Mesopotamian AU, time-travel AU, etc. I'm utter trash for Sentinel!verse (and if you don't know what that is, come at me).
✅  plot-development, complex characterization
✅  conscious, intentional, creative abuse of grammar/syntax
✅  any gender identity/lack thereof; sexual orientation/lack thereof; neurodivergent characters; disabled characters
✅  LGBT, non-cis/het, POC, or other minority versions of canonically white cis straight Christian etc characters
✅  female versions of canonically (cis)male characters
✅  dark, edgy, angsty themes up to and including psychological & physical torture, abuse, and character death
✅  complex and conscientious portrayals of trauma and mental health issues
NO THANKS
❎  self-insertion (omnipotent manic pixie Gary-Stu/Mary-Stu characters make me cringe)
❎  pages of ooc
❎  pages of graphic porn
❎  you RP nothing but smut of a variety that squicks me, such as (below) and don't put it behind readmores: - A/B/O, especially if it involves 'mating'/'breeding', pregnancy (esp cis male or cis female pregnancy), etc. Really major squick; - BDSM that uses an abundance of misogynistic language like 'slut'; 'daddy/mommy' themes; pet play; romanticising unhealthy abusive relationships ('50 Shades of Nope' comes to mind) by framing them as consensual BDSM.
❎  consistent grammar/spelling errors (note: ignore if English isn't your primary language; I’m happy to help if that’s something you want, and I speak a few languages so I might be able to RP in your language)
❎  lots of family/baby/child content
❎  'child of'/'sibling of' & non-canon family member/friend characters
❎  anthropomorphic, furry, or 'real people' characters
❎  SuperWhoLock, anime
❎  gatekeeping, canon-snobbery, constant negativity
❎ erasure of any minority group (ie male versions of canonically female characters; suspiciously white FCs for canonically POC characters, etc)
❎ messianic anything; proselytizing
ABOUT THE MUN
✩  ari (aka kai), 30s, London (GMT)

I had intended for this to be my 100th post, but I changed my plans due to unexpected circumstances. The following will be a very Tumblr-esque thing: a rant about my feelings.
TW/Disclaimers: Long; potentially boring; lots of rambling. Might not be very organized. There may be cringe. This is not logically focused and is meant to describe subjective matters. The purpose of this is for me to vent and make my feelings available to anyone curious. It is not meant to offend or argue a point. People do not have to cater to the feelings presented below.
History
I have a lot to say about my Tumblr experience so far, and I might as well start with the creation of this blog. I first started using Tumblr on a separate account back when I was less interested in politics and had yet to discover the wonders of people like Milo Yiannopoulos and Blaire White. (Though I was already a fan of Martin Shkreli.) At that time, I thought more about other topics such as anime, books, and Undertale. All of these things still interest me; I doubt that will change anytime soon. Still, I had expected to devote most of my blogging to the world of fandom.
That did not go as expected. I wasn’t very active on that blog for a number of reasons; real life obligations, lack of familiarity with formatting, posts getting deleted when I tried to post on the mobile app without saving them, and being a perfectionist with tagging. Whenever I began a post, I wanted to make sure I got everything just right and would sometimes stare at a few sentences for quite a long time before uploading them, and to my dismay, they would sometimes get deleted. Also, I was worried about art theft; I wasn’t (and still am not) sure whether using existing artwork or a photo off the internet for a background or avatar constituted art theft. I didn't know what sort of feel I wanted for my blog either, so I was unsure about what to draw and which colors I should use. And I had no idea what to write for my blog title and description.
Other things which irrationally troubled me were liking, reblogging, and following people. I think these are supposed to be some of the most enjoyable parts of Tumblr, yet they all made me somewhat stressed. I wasn’t sure how much I should like a post before I “like” it since there doesn’t seem to be a way to sort “liked” posts. I wondered if I should “like” every post which gave me a positive mental reaction or only the ones which I considered personally meaningful. I doubt it matters to most people, but I wanted a consistent standard for myself. As for reblogging, I didn’t want to do it very often since I wanted my blog to be almost exclusively my own content. With regards to following people, I wasn’t sure whether to follow anyone whose content I liked or only people who almost exclusively posted content that interested me. I also wasn’t sure whether I was socially obligated to follow Tumblrs from people I knew in real life if their content generally wasn’t about topics I enjoyed. I’m still not very sure of these things and probably still would not be if someone decided to talk to me about it. I’m the type who constantly thinks of counterarguments, so I’d probably get stressed holding them in or annoy whoever would try to help me.
Another major thing was the social aspect. I’m not particularly social in real life and was aware that I could find many people who share my fandom-related interests on Tumblr. And there are a lot of fandom people here, but since I barely liked, reblogged, or followed people, I wasn’t particularly noticeable. People had little incentive to interact with me as well since I barely had any posts, and my Tumblr wasn’t particularly good looking. I have low social initiative, so I wouldn’t try to initiate conversation as well.
So what changed?
Well, I was gradually becoming more interested in politics, social justice, and futurism. I was curious about the state of the world and the direction it was going. I always loved exploring moral issues in fiction and had increasingly thought about the ones in reality as well. Plus I love science and liked thinking of how it would develop in the future; I thought it important that society prepare for the effects of new technology.
And then there’s feminism. Feminism wasn’t even the social issue which interested me the most, but it was one of the ones (along with transgenderism) which raised the most questions. I used to think of feminism as a good thing and associated it with women becoming able to do things such as vote, work, and be educated. And as a child, I was sometimes bullied for being a girl with more traditionally masculine interests. I thought feminism not only made significant social changes for the rights of women but also would support girls like me who were being treated unfairly for not conforming to a limited gender role.
Over time, I read more about feminism on the internet and discovered that some people thought it was a bad thing. This confused me; how could people not believe women deserve equal rights? Were people really that sexist? I looked into this antifeminism movement a bit more. Not enough to discover its prominent leaders just yet, but to see what the basic arguments against it were.
What I learned was that many people who are against feminism believe that women have equal rights already and that feminism teaches women that they are inherently victimized by society and should blame men. The antifeminists saying those things no longer appeared sexist to me, but I was still confused. I hadn’t heard from feminists that I was doomed to be a victim because I was a woman or that I should hate men. The only thing I saw wrong with feminism was that some feminists believed all feminists should be pro-choice.
I did some more research, and I found that some feminists do say such things. The feminist movement no longer seemed as equal as I thought. At that point, I still thought such feminists were in the minority and that feminism was still needed to help women get rights such as educational opportunities and having a choice in their spouse elsewhere in the world where there is less gender equality.
I ended up taking two classes which heavily involved feminism and other areas of social justice. One of them was one of the best classes I’ve ever taken; the other one, not so much. I began to empathize with the antifeminist movement even more. I started planning a Tumblr essay analyzing women who don’t need feminism and explaining how both antifeminists and feminists bring up good points and should try to effectively communicate with each other.
I came across a website called Everyday Feminism during this, probably when I was researching trans people. I was very skeptical about the concept, and I wanted to see if my mind could be changed. After watching one of the videos, I found a response video and decided to watch it as well. Thus I discovered Blaire White, who did change my mind with her explanation of gender dysphoria. I realized I had misunderstood what it was previously. I watched more of her videos, which got me interested in other people such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Shoe0nhead. I was red pilled, and I felt like a whole new world of different perspectives and ideas had opened up to me.
I felt compelled to write about these topics, but I thought my current blog wouldn’t be the best place to do so. People might not want to look at my fandom material if they didn’t agree with my political content. I thought the solution would be to create a side blog. And so I did.
This new blog was titled AntiKripkean, named after my commitment against Kripkean dogmatism. (Kripkean dogmatism is when people dismiss anything contrary to their view due to it being contrary in and of itself.) I drew a background tiled with Bill Cipher (to represent my love of fandoms and my appreciation for trollish characters in both fiction and reality), the female symbol (indicating I support equality for women and am open to discussing feminism and antifeminism), Pepe the frog (as a tribute to the positivity I felt in my life after discovering the anti-SJW movement), and hearts (since I also value compassion, empathy, love, and peace). This background was meant to indicate the bizarre mix of ideas floating around in my head and to celebrate a diversity of subject matters. I drew a peach with inverted colors to make it look somewhat frozen, indicating my support for free speech.
Unfortunately, I realized that side blogs lack some of the features present in main blogs. I didn’t want my blogs associated with one another, and I found that a side blog can’t follow or like. I ended up making a new main blog with the same background, name, and avatar then reposting all the content from the original AntiKripkean. Thankfully, I only had ten posts. Thus this blog was created.
General Feelings
My Tumblr experience so far is not quite what I thought it would be. One big difference is that I thought I would do a lot more essay-type posts. I have a few longish ones, but a large portion of my original content is Martin Shkreli fanart and Milo gifs. There could be many possible reasons for this. One is that I like producing that sort of content, especially considering there is barely any available. I suspect that I might not feel as motivated to draw or make gifs as often if there were plenty of them already; I’d probably be staring at them for an inordinate amount of time instead. Another possible reason is that essays take more planning on my behalf, and I often will reread the same few sentences over and over again way too many times. I would like to do more essay posts, but I plan to continue making fanart and gifs as well, perhaps of other people such as Blaire White and Laci Green as well.
Currently, I’m the most proud of this particular drawing of Martin Shkreli. My digital art skills have been improving. While it doesn’t have the most notes out of all my posts, In the last few days, it’s become my most popular post (thanks, haters), and I’m proud of that since I worked very hard on it, and I consider it my best work on this site so far. I think I did well with the shading and colors. I also think I did a good job capturing how biased the media is against him. I still can’t draw hands well, though... ^^;
On the topic of people I draw, it still surprises me to see my Tumblr pop up as one of the top search results on this site for both Martin Shkreli and Milo Yiannopoulos. I know I feel very positively about both of them, but to see it acknowledged on the internet on a major website still feels surreal. I suppose it makes sense considering that most people on Tumblr think negatively about both of these people, yet I didn’t expect myself or my efforts to support them to be significant enough to warrant my placement in the search results. I feel happy that my content is prominent for others interested in these people and proud of myself for making it this far, yet I also wish that there were other people producing similar content. I’ve enjoyed having fandoms constantly producing content for books and anime, yet with Martin and Milo, I’ve been having to make the content for myself and anyone else interested. And I really like making it, though it’s a bit lonely when almost no one else on Tumblr is doing it as well.
I have generally felt good on Tumblr, though. I would like to thank my sister, @rightwingbarbie, @brightsapphireseas, and my chatroom frriends with accounts here (you know who you are) for making me feel welcome here; I appreciate all of you very much. I didn’t expect to be treated with such kindness here, and I’m truly grateful for you. Thank you to my followers as well; you’re also amazing.  ♥
People haven’t been getting upset in the way I’d expect, either. I thought that people would respond negatively to me almost as soon as I’d post content about controversial figures, yet it actually took a bit longer. I woke up one day to a bunch of notes after barely getting any before, and I was very surprised to have gotten what seemed to me like a lot of attention. (I’m aware it isn’t a lot, but in comparison to what I had gotten previously.) I was more upset about people speaking negatively of Martin Shkreli and Milo Yiannopoulos than people insulting me; I’m sick of lies about them being spread around all over the place. Still, it was somewhat amusing that people could get so upset over some drawings. And some people claimed to want me to die, which I’m not quite sure how to feel about. I’m cynically amused by the hypocrisy and double standards with regards to internet etiquette, but I’m a bit sad that people can be so close-minded. A lot of the people critical of me might be generally good people, and I don’t want to assume that anyone who disagrees with me, even if they do so rudely, is automatically a bad person. (I also want to add that I don’t draw controversial people to trigger SJWs; I do so to show my support for them. If people get triggered, so be it.)
I’m willing to talk to people even if they disagree with me, and I welcome ask box content. :)
The Past Few Days
When I realized that I had hit 99 posts, I began writing what you see here: a summary of my Tumblr experience and my ideas for the future of this blog. Due to an unexpected event a few days ago, there was a change of plans. I decided to dedicate my 100th post to Martin Shkreli instead. I can and will write a lot more about my feelings for what happened, but to stick with the theme of this post, this will be a recap of how it’s affected me on Tumblr.
I spent a few hours writing and editing Post #100, and Tumblr reacted to my previous posts more quickly than I can type. My art posts, or my favorite one in particular, were flooded with notes. (On the bright side, that post became the one with the most notes, which is what I’d wanted.) Many of the responses were negative, both towards Martin and myself.
Since Martin’s arrest, I’d get so many notes. My screen would light up with notifications all day. While most people would probably be happy about getting a lot of notes, my feelings were more complex.
The main thing was that I felt overwhelmed. I want and plan to respond to many of the comments and reblogs I’ve received, but there were so many to keep track of. I also wanted to finish my tribute to Martin and this post so they could respectively be Post #100 and Post #101. There are many claims I want to address. At least by the time this gets out I can begin to respond.
I’m aware that I could feel less overwhelmed by turning off my notifications, but I want to be fully aware of the impact of my actions and not cut myself off from knowing the consequences. Even if it can get distracting and overwhelming, I want to experience it regardless of whether I like it.
Also, it saddens me when people insult Martin. Whether or not it bothers him, to me, it’s an indication of the malice and ignorance present in society. I don’t think Martin is perfect and some may find him unlikable, yet almost all the criticism I see for him involves double standards or is founded on misleading premises and/or blatant lies. If people are to hate him, they should at least have a proper understanding of why. Still, an understanding of him could lead to them becoming fans, like it did in my case.
I’m not as bothered when people insult me. It doesn’t make me feel worthless or guilty; in fact, it strengthens my resolve. Some people have criticized me respectfully, but many of the negative comments are rife with profanity and lacking in logic. This is likely because they were posted with the intent of expressing negative emotions, not starting a dialogue or persuading me to change my mind. I respect people’s freedom of speech to do this, but it only goes to show that they prioritize their own feelings and degrading mine over rational discourse. And I’m not saying all of my critics are like this, but the more rational replies are unfortunately limited. It makes them as a whole seem rather unkind and lacking in the critical thinking department, and it’s giving me delusions of grandeur. I’ve been reminding myself that I’ve messed up in the past as well, and these people might be kind and intelligent in other areas of life.
I started looking through my reblogs after finishing Post #100 so I could determine who to respond to. While reading the responses and tags, I also noticed other things on people’s blogs. I feel like many of the people don’t quite see what they’re doing. I recall some of them specifically stating in their descriptions that they are nice and want to help others. This leads me to think that they might generally be (or at least imagine themselves to be) this way, yet they perceive me as a negative being undeserving of this component of their personalities. Some of them share things in common with me such as being demisexual, loving animals, and being fascinated by MBTI. Many of them are also fandom people. As a fan myself, I’m a bit disappointed by their behavior. While I recognize that liking something doesn’t mean one has to agree with or like everything about it, fandoms have influenced me to see people as deserving of respect, to look beyond public opinion, and to try to empathize with and understand others. It seems kind of wrong to me that Undertale fans won’t show mercy (and yes, I know there’s a genocide route), Game of Thrones fans disregard individual complexity, and FMA fans act as if people they don’t like have no value. Yet I try to see them as people, not just hateful text on a screen. But some can be very cruel.
There have even been threats and incitement of violence towards Martin himself. I doubt any of the people doing this pose a real danger, but this still goes against Tumblr’s community guidelines. I’m not referring to the people who say he has a punchable face or that they wouldn’t mind if (or even hope that) harm befalls him. I’m talking about people who say they will harm Martin or are requesting that others do so. I’m pondering whether I should report these people; ironically, the main things holding me back are the words of the people they hate. I want to give these people the mercy that Martin did not receive, and Milo has said that people should not have their lives destroyed over jokes, and I think these threats may have been intended as jokes. (Though Milo did say that threats and inciting violence do not constitute free speech.) I’m not sure what the consequences would be for these people if I reported them, and I don’t want them to be banned from Tumblr, subjected to legal investigation, or thrown in jail. I think they should have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, and I’m not sure how Tumblr would handle the situation.
People have also been telling me to kill myself. I’m thankfully not suicidal, but if I were, I wonder how these people would feel and what would happen to them if I really did take their suggestion. I want to respect their freedom of speech, but I really don’t like that they’re saying this because they may get in the habit of it (if they aren’t already) and end up telling it to someone who’d actually do it. I don’t know whether this is covered under freedom of speech, but it’s an awful thing to say. Words have consequences. And for anyone reading this, please know that your life matters. If someone tells you to kill yourself, don’t do it; you are precious, and your life has meaning. And on a side note, Martin mentioned before that he wanted to develop a drug to treat suicidality. So not only are people urging me to commit suicide; they are taking a stand against someone who wants to help suicidal people.
I haven’t received anywhere near as much negativity as others, yet for me, it appeared to be a lot in comparison to my previous experiences on the internet. I was fully aware that this could happen, though. I’m not quite sure if what’s happening to me constitutes harassment; I haven’t blocked anyone no matter what they’ve said to me. (Yet some have left me hateful messages and blocked ME when I didn’t even say anything to them.) While I dislike what people are saying, I want to be aware of it, and I respect their freedom to say it. I also want to be able to have respectful discussions with those who are willing.
Future Content
I really think I should make a FAQ page, disclaimer list, an about me page, and a tag index. That may be useful to some people.
I also will be drawing more fanart and making more gifs, but for now, I plan to do longer text posts, with evidence to support my viewpoints. It will probably take a while to both write these posts and do my research, but I think it would be more useful if I produced more intellectual content.
I’d also like to cover more topics including but not limited to the environment, the abortion debate, feminism, futurism, racism, my personal experiences with political discussion, mental health, parallels and differences between fiction and reality, representation in fiction, cultural appropriation, reviews and responses to other content, SJWs, trolling, and the importance of lingual clarity. And I side with liberals on some issues and conservatives on others, so I plan to discuss my Leftist opinions as well. Yet for now, expect a lot more posts about Milo and Martin.
I’m not quite sure how to end this, but I hope my presence on Tumblr can benefit others as well as myself. I’d like to be able to start some discussion about various issues and help people who need advice. I look forward to posting more content.
And thanks to anyone who read through this entire mess of a post. ♥

How do you run your blog?
Repost; Do Not Reblog
Speed: It really depends. Usually I’ll get to a thread within a week or two at the longest. Given that have several partners that I talk to and plot with daily/weekly, we generate a lot of new ideas frequently and when something takes awhile, it usually got buried by under a crust of new threads and occasional meme prompt ask. My drafts box is like an archeological site, I swear. Sometimes I do have trouble with inspiration for a reply, but usually it’s just a matter of getting wrapped up with my little circle of friends and co-writers.
A side note, during my working week, my productivity slows to a crawl. I’m usually better off in Skype or tumblr IM and may get to a thread or two either before or after work if I’m just not in lurk/shit post mode until I pass out.
Replies: Aesthetically I use extremely light formatting. The first word always bolded and italicized and default size with all other text smaller. I also bold the quotation marks in dialogue because it looks hella cool on my blog proper given that I have bolded/italicized text is a different colour than the rest of the text. It also looks classy af on the dash. Icons for either FC depending on verse or comic caps are used until it gets to nsfw stuff or with some drabble prompts. As for preferences, I’m really quite flexible. Honestly, tho, I’m a multi-para whore and with most threads, eventually they start to get longer and longer. However, unless I can’t parse my muse’s thoughts on a matter or situation, I won’t go in hard and fast on a one-liner or small single para. Unless you’re one of my people, but then again, you prolly already have experience being slapped with my throbbing multi-para hard-on.
I don’t expect people to match me, and sometimes I may struggle to match length, as well, but I do like to see an attempt. Like if I give you a four para starter, I would prefer not to get a two sentence reply back (some of you are shaking your head, but this actually happened to me in my halcyon days in the community).
Starters: I don’t do greeters, because idk, for me it feels like when a teacher called on you because you weren’t paying attention. Nearly every time I’ve gotten a greeter, I’m unprepared and feel quite suddenly pressed. The RPC is already a ball of anxiety 85% of the time and I don’t want to add to anyone’s discomfort, providing I’m not the only crazy person who reacts to getting a greeter like a distant gunshot. Depending on how clogged my drafts box is and how busy I am, I probably post a starter call every couple weeks and open starters very rarely because like, idk, no one ever hops on them, so I don’t really feel like they’re welcome. In the case of the latter, I only ask that people read the tags. Some open starters are meant for mutuals, particularly ones with some established interaction.
Unless they’re plotted starters (or replies to longer ask box meme responses that I wanted to turn into a thread), they usually start short and often vague. Please don’t keep it vague. It drives me nuts. I want you to present an idea, go out on a limb, whatever (I mean within reason of course, use your common sense, too).
Inbox: It’s a mess, tbqh. A lot of times I mindlessly reblog or queue memes, especially at work or when I’m out and about on mobile, and then don’t feel like doing them or get excited over certain prompts over others. I will say that I keep things in my inbox for a very long time and might get to replying to prompt weeks to months later. Frequently I will draft ones that I know will be long.
Selectivity: Hoooo boy. I’m pretty fucking selective tbh. I like my partners to be literate and of course be able to enjoy their portrayal/character. That’s not to say I’m not open to meeting new people and interacting with new muses. I don’t need to know your muse extensively to RP with you, but I’m also perfectly willing to educate myself (I’m not going to front, I was compelled to watch both Daredevil and Preacher for the sake of character/canon research, as well as starting to read Lucifer). Also, I mostly RP with mutuals, but again, that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to discover new mutuals, you feel me?
Sometimes when my stress levels are high or I’m drowning in drafts, I tend to be a bit more standoffish and stick to “my people”, however this doesn’t last for long and may be broken by a compelling enough new interaction.
Wishlist item: *pounds table aggressively* CONSTANTINE FAM! AND I SUPPOSE THIS IS REALLY SELFISH BUT I WANT A CHERYL OR GEMMA RP BLOG IN MY LIFE. AND IDEK MAYBE HAVING A CHERYL BLOG WOULD BE BORING AS SHIT, BUT A GEMMA??? SURELY TO FUCK SOMETHING FASCINATING COULD BE DONE WITH HER. Also: CHAS! ELLIE! HELL BLAZER CANON CHARACTERS PLS.
ahem.
Anyway, idk, I really don’t have a wishlist? I mean, there are certain themes I’m keen to explore. Like my mythological bent to John, and developing certain verses, but like...all things considered I’m just more interested in world and relationship building than ticking off a wishlist of AUs or situations I want to see played out.
Honest note: I’m fiercely independent, and I don’t put up with bullshit. Honestly, I don’t have much tolerance for drama and the easiest way to push me away is pull me into a vortex of social or interpersonal drama. Been there, done that, and honestly I can be a bit skittish if I start getting a weird vibe. I’m coming up on five years RPing on tumblr and there’s not a lot that shocks me anymore.
A few more admissions:
-- I love writing ships. When I wrote fanfic, it was 95% shippy stuff. That doesn’t mean it’s all about romance, fluff, and sex, sometimes it’s just how two muses relate to each other or a glimpse into their lives together, but I know my strengths and tend to default to them. This doesn’t mean I’m out to collect lovers for John or am not willing to step out my comfort zone, just that there’s going to be a lot of that stuff here.
-- If we talk ooc, there’s a 100% more possibility that you’re going to get more attention from me both ic and ooc. It’s just a matter of comfort level. Though I might seem together and confident, it’s only really in regard to my writing. I’m intimidated by people who are so much better at being witty and fun and silly on tumblr and chatty about their characters and fandom outside of the constraint of meme prompts or whatever. I guess I’m just afraid of boring people or having followers roll their eyes like “omg Iggy stfu. Don’t you have twenty-odd replies? Chop, chop you anal retentive bitch.” Mind, no one’s actually said this to me, I just have dodgy self-esteem, honestly, and some days are worse than others.
-- If I tell you I think you’re a good writer, I mean it. This is important.
-- If I tell you I’m worried about the quality of a reply I gave you, I’m not fishing for compliments, I’m legitimately uncertain that you’ll like it. Just fyi.
-- I’m bad at writing m/f ships in any expedient manner. I have no good excuse for this other than being queer trash that would rather write about men being in love and lust. And uh, that’s not a good excuse at all. I’m just the literal worst and I’m sorry I come off as not inclusive enough. Honestly, I’m trying to be better about this deep failing of mine.
-- I apologize a lot for things I shouldn’t. Sorry lol

7goodangel’s FAQ
( Can also be found at https://7goodangel.tumblr.com/faq )
[This version is made so then it can be easily searched within the blog and be easier for mobile users to find! Will reblog when an update to the FAQ happens! The original page will still be up as well as the post version of it. FAQ is under the Read More to not clutter up the dashboard. Please read this prior to sending questions!]
((Updated - 01/26/2020 - Updated part will be noted within FAQ)) [It will first be guidelines then general FAQ]
GUIDELINES
Q: Can I draw [character]?
A: YES! You can! Just make sure you credit me in the description! (either tag me on dA or Tumblr, or give a link to my tumblr if it’s on another website!)
Q: Can I write a fanfiction with [character]?
A: YES! Again, give credit where it’s due, but I am completely fine with you writing a story for one of my characters!
If there are any exceptions to those two questions, they will be mentioned below.
– **UPDATE START**
Q: Can I sell products / commissions / etc. with [character] in them?
A:  If it is a one time payment (like a one off drawing / voice / writing commission) that includes [character], that will be okay.  (refer to this post: https://7goodangel.tumblr.com/post/185382385438/so-lets-say-someone-does-comissions-and-gets)
If it is for a longer project or a line of products with [character] in them (i.e.: YouTube videos, items sold on a printing website, etc), I will have to respectfully decline for their likeness to be in/on the product.
– **UPDATE END**
Q: Can I write/draw NSFW of [character]?
A: This is where I like to draw the line. I know I cannot police everyone and some will slip out, but I would rather not see any NSFW of any of my characters on this website or any website. My characters are very personal to me… and I just feel very awkward and horrible when I see or imagine one of my characters doing some of those actions.
But here I will try my best to say what is allowed and what isn’t allowed: Allowed:
Jokes about NSFW topics or hinting to NSFW stuff.
Leading up to the action, but then fading to black (not actually showing it)
Not allowed:
The actual action of NSFW stuff.
If the ’d’ is glowing/showing. (like heat)
Just do not want to see any of my characters do any of that stuff. But sometimes joking about it in a conversation can work. Touching, kissing, biting, hugging, cuddling, laying in the same bed - that stuff is ok. But when the actual act is happening - please - don’t show that.
(Just note that with Paper Jam, he can really not do that. his body is unable to do that function.)
If you are wondering if what you are going to draw falls under the NSFW category for me, PLEASE do not hesitate to message me! I might say no, but then you would at least know for sure if you could do it or not. You can still draw that stuff in private, I am not stopping you there - just wanted to not see that stuff on the Internet.
Oh! I know that sometimes violence is included in the NSFW topic. GENERIC violence is ok since because of fighting and battles and etc that some of my characters do. So that’s ok! Other stuff like vore and rape will NEVER be tolerated.
Q: Can I repost your artwork to [Website/App Here]?
A: No. Not unless you got specific permission from me to do so. You will have to contact me and ask first, then I’ll give you a way to format the picture (basically keep the picture as-is, link to my tumblr, give credit). Do NOT repost my stuff unless you got my permission! Please!
Good rule of thumb for any artist - if you do not have permission, don’t repost it.
-
Q: Can I lineart/color/do both for a picture you have done traditionally / only lineart?
A: Ask me about that first. I have had people not ask be before doing it and most of the time if that happens, the colors or line art is messed up and is not interpreted properly. While I do like spontaneous collabs, I need you to ask me first through my inbox. Then I can provide you the right references and colors for it! If not, well, I will still appreciate it, but I will then mention about how you didn’t contact me within the comments (if I do find it). It’s just uncomfortable for me to have someone just draw over and color over stuff I did - and, in some ways and from some view points, this can be considered as art theft. Just… tread lightly and always ask before doing something like this with any artist - do not let another blog give you permission to do so - go to the artist and ask them directly.
-
Q: Can I have [character] as my icon?
A: Sure! As long as you credit the right people (character by 7goodangel, art by (whoever did the art))
-
Q: Can I create a ask/RP account for [character]?
A: No. Any kind of blog, account, etc that is used for role playing or for asking any of my characters is not allowed (or more on highly not recommended). The only exception to this would be if the character you are using is an alternate from a different AU (that has significant changes in design and personality from the original) AND if you run it by me first. I am generally pretty chill with alternates like that but due to how people misinterpret some of my characters I will have to say no to general RP and Ask blogs.
This includes:
dA Ask/RP accounts
Tumblr Ask/RP blogs
Amino Profiles (unless you are only using the name/icon and not RPing or answering asks as said character), Amino Public Chats and RPing / Asking questions within the comments
Instagram Ask/RP accounts
Pretty much if it’s an account that says the name of any one of my characters and they are answering things as them then I strongly do not recommend doing that.
Naming an account after one of my characters for other uses is just fine (due to how common the names I use for characters) or using an image of one of my characters as an icon is fine (as long as you got permission from the artist who made the image).
More clarification here: https://7goodangel.tumblr.com/post/175950661298/hey-i-do-not-have-a-question-but-i-idk-have-a
-
Q: Can I still RP as [RP] randomly?
A: I’m still fine with non-permanent/private RPs as my characters - just make sure that your RP partner knows that the character you RP as isn’t canon and all should be good!
These are pretty much where if you RP as a character in Private Servers / SMS / IM / etc., then you are fine. Private is A-Okay – but try not to do public ones. Thanks!
-
Q: Where do you draw the line with NSFW in RPs?
A: I draw the like at the point where most people go to a ‘Read More’. A good example of this is how askinfresh does that. And that doesn’t mean that moving to a read more is okay then - Like the NSFW question above, I do NOT want to see any PUBLIC RPs that are that type of NSFW. Hinting up to the act is ok but once the sections are exposed is where I hope that people would stop with RPS - do a fade to black and return to them after the fact.
ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE UNDERAGE. I really do not care if you like to sin and you are underage - that can get you into a lot of trouble. THAT is for YOUR safety. Just please - for any RPs or art or writing, if you are underage in your country - don’t post it. Don’t make it public.
Little note about NSFW stuff:
Now note with the NSFW stuff I point out PUBLICLY. That means that I cannot stop you from writing or drawing it in your own home or wherever you draw it privately. It becomes ‘public’, in my eyes, when someone can find it on the internet. If a kid could get to that picture or story eventually by looking through tags or searching, then I get uncomfortable. I just really want to create an environment that is family friendly. My own family knows what I do online due to me telling them about it - and I do not want to have the thought of them looking up stuff and finding NSFW of my character. Knowing that families and children could find that stuff just scares me and makes me even more uncomfortable than my own feelings about NSFW stuff (which is disliking it). I just tend to worry a lot… and I just hope that people can respect my opinion on it. I am not limiting everyone to drawing other characters - just my own. There are plenty of other creators that are more loose with their characters. Just - I do not want to get to the point of leaving Tumblr due to people not respecting other artists. It is really uncomfortable for some people and asking artists and writers goes A LONG way.
-
Q: Can you draw [character(s)]?
A: Maybe? Maybe not? It depends on what’s happening with me in real life. Most of the time I am open to suggestions, not requests. Suggestions mean that if someone gives me an idea that inspires me, I might draw it. If not, then I might not. I tend to collect the ones I like and then draw them in one sitting. Suggestions might go away when and if I start to do commissions.

FAQ ON 7GOODANGEL
Q: Where are you from?
A: Earth.
-
Q: Ahahaha - no seriously where are you from/what time is it/etc?
A: I will not state my exact location due to privacy reasons. For this reason, no matter where I am located at, I use Eastern Standard Time. Why? No reason - guess Walt Disney World is in that time zone.  Just know - I'm on the Earth on a continent. Country should be obvious with some reblogs or topics but that's as far as I'll go.
-
Q: Can we be friends?
A: Sorry to say, but I cannot guarantee that. Typically my friendships happen organically, with neither of us asking to be the others friend, talking to each other for a duration of time prior to realizing that "WOAH - we only know each other for 6 months! Dude - that's crazy it feels like you've been here forever!" When at that stage, that's what I consider as a friend. So I can never guarantee this, especially if someone asks. I apologize in advance but I like a more smaller group of friends instead of a lot. That's my personal preference.
-
Q: How long have you been drawing? What programs you use? Traditional or Digital?
A: I've been drawing since 2006. I use Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, and Drawpile if on a different computer for digital, and just whatever paper and pencils I can grab for traditional; though I do use generic color pencils, sharpie pens, a calligraphy pen for lineart, and recently trying Prismacolor markers. I like both traditional and digital and would like to do more fusions of the two styles! ^^
-
Q: Do you like to multiship? (aka What ships do you like?)
A: Yes - I do multiship and I’m pretty open to most ships. The only one’s I’ll NEVER ship are ones where if the characters are related (like a brother and sister romantic relationship? NOPE.) or if at least one character is a minor and one is an adult (NOPE - no ships like that - that’s illegal in real life so nope.)
Those two are the big nopes for me for ships. (And that also means that I hope people don’t ship my minor characters with adults or make a character of mine into a kid and ship them with an adult… that’s just… not right. Same for any of my characters who are related to another character - don’t ship siblings or relatives romantically guys.)
-
Q: [[Any question dealing with FreshxPJ or FreshPaper]]
A: I will not be answering any more questions about FreshPaper. It is due to how people have taken my opinion on the ship and warped the words to sound like I dislike ships entirely which is complete false. You can ship what you wish, draw what you wish, but just respect what creator's have as canon to their character's stories as well as their FAQs!
And to note here: Canon PJ is with a Pluris named Omni, and will eventually have a kid named Monochrome (who is an entirely different species). Canon PJ does not like Fresh and that feeling is mutual with him.
Q: But how did the FreshPaper ship even start?
A: It’s a long story: It started when I was mostly on an RP account for PJ - and I interacted a lot IC and OOC with a friend who ran a Fresh account. People then started to ship us two (me and the friend) and thought of the name FreshPaper from it based on our muses. Eventually others started to experiment with the possibility of the muses in a ship and the name shifted to the ship of Fresh and Paper Jam. Some other big and known artists started to draw their versions of the ship and it pretty much exploded from there. Though it did bring some misinformation with all characters involved….But that’s the story!
___
CHARACTER SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
——
Q: Is Paper Jam / Blue Screen a Sans?
A: Nope! Neither PJ or Screen are considered as Sanses. They are children of sanscest ships but they personally are not Sanses
---
Q: Is there a bio for Paper Jam?
A: Yep! You can find it here: https://7goodangel.tumblr.com/paper-jam-bio-official It’s also in the dropdown list of link on the desktop version of my tumblr page!

This iOS app makes creating and editing guitar tabs a breeze
One of the more tedious tasks of playing in a cover band is managing lyric and chord sheets. When you play a typical four-hour gig in a local bar, memorizing all that music is not always going to happen. You've got to study each song and learn your particular parts, sure, but having a cheat sheet with the verses and the chords on an iPad can really help keep you on track while you also manage your guitar, pedal effects and vocal performance. Gathering all this song data from the internet (or writing it out yourself) can take time. For me, the process usually involves finding the right transcription of the chords in the correct key online, copying the relevant bits from the web page and then creating a PDF on my computer for upload to Dropbox and my iPad so everyone can access it. An upcoming app called TabBank, currently in beta and set to release on July 27th, aims to simplify this process quite a bit, with a simple way to create and import chord sheets and tab right on an iPad or iPhone.
Launching the app, you'll see a fairly basic interface without any clutter to get in the way. You'll get the option to create a new chart or read through the Getting Started guide, which explains that TabBank uses its own version of the ChordPro standard file type to edit your sheets. If you're typing out your own music, you simply enter the chord name in brackets in front of the word you want it to appear over on the final product. You can even define new chords the app doesn't already know with a line in the file that tells the app what strings and frets to use when previewing, like Cm7b5: x3434x. Tabs can be created with rows of dashes that represent the guitar strings; they will be formatted a bit more nicely when you're done, and you can add hammer-on and pull-off notes as well. You can also format the font size into small, medium or large styles, and choose the from three different styles used for chords and lyrics.
What makes TabBank extremely useful for me, however, is the way it pulls in tab and chord sheets from the internet. You'll need to install a mobile Safari extension, and then navigate to any of your favorite portals, like Ultimate Guitar or E Chords. Once you find the version of the song you want to import, you hit the Share button in Safari and TabBank will pull in just the relevant portion of the music, ignoring all the ads and other cruft usually found on such sites. The song will then appear below the Create New Chart section in the main screen. You can tap the title and get a nicely formatted tab or chord chart in seconds, and you can edit it right in TabBank, as well.
You can tap on any chord or tablature and TabBank will play it back with a basic MIDI guitar sound paired with a visual of the notes on a guitar neck. It might be helpful for newbies who need to know how to play a given chord, but it's fairly bland when you're trying to figure out a solo or rock riff. I pulled up AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" and, while accurate, the playback only sort of sounded like it should. This is more a limitation of MIDI and written tablature, though, and not a problem with the app itself.
Once you've written out your chord sheet or imported one from your favorite website, you can export either a PDF or ChordPro file, which you can then share out to any other apps you like. It was incredibly easy to send a PDF to the app I use to manage lyric sheets and set lists on stage, Deep Dish's GigBook.
So far, TabBank seems like a great tool to use if you want to manage your guitar tab and chord sheets on your iPhone or iPad. Being able to get music from the web, edit it on my device and then send it to the setlist app I use saved me quite a bit of time; I look forward to using the app from here on out. The app should be out on the App Store July 27th, where it will be a free download with some in-app purchases to add printing and exporting PDFs and saving tabs from the web.

Repost don’t reblog (me on mobile so formatting might suck ass)
name:  Zelda of Hyrule.
nickname:  zel, zellie, Elle, Ellie but that’s pretty rare
gender:  female.
romantic orientation:  Demisexual
preferred pet names:  my god this girl is weak for any pet names she will cry!!! So long as it’s nothing mean she’ll accept any and all pet names!
relationship status:  single  /  verse dependent but I’m a one ship per character sorta multi shipper
favorite canon/fandom ship:  I don’t have one for her, sHOCKING I KNOW!! But canonically she doesn’t have any attachment to Link aside from hero who saved my butt from dying twice! In the manga... I still don’t really ship zelink because there’s not really a lot of chemistry if they had more of what sky link and zel did then for sure but for now! No ship!!
opinion on true love: something she really wants to experience! She’s read plenty of books that talk of this sort of powerful love, and she’s a loving person overall! She believes in love at the end of the day ahhhh my heart!!!
opinion on love at first sight: WELL!!! Romantic in books but not something she’d believe in irl! It takes a deep and meaningful emotional connection for her to consider falling in love.
how ‘romantic’ are they?:  EXTREMELY! Expect flowers everyday. But also she’s a romantic in sense of romanticism as well like the edgy gothic kind.
ideal physical traits: It’s not the outside that counts but what’s on the inside! She doesn’t care about physical appearance!
ideal personality traits: Be a big moron and she’ll swoon for you, hWEOH BUt HoNESTLY???? I think she values bravery and kindness above everything! She also likes outgoing people or someone who can keep up with her terrible pun humor
unattractive physical traits: :’) uH!!! I can’t really think of anything she’d dislike as she’s someone who only likes people for who they are rather than what they look like!
unattractive personality traits: Ok this one is easy she doesn’t like selfishness, rudeness, someone who’s controlling, over confidence is something she doesn’t like nor recklessness. Courage good but foolishly throwing yourself in danger is bad. It’ll just make her worry for your wellbeing.
ideal date: SHE!!!! Considers a nice stroll through the catacombs or exploring haunted places as dates but also considers a romantic moonlit dinner too so :’) either of those things! Also she sure loves to go to the beach.
do they have a type?:  Eh? Didn’t we already go through this with ideal personality trait? Seems redundant and also I’m lazy to type all this since I’m on mobile so look above!
average relationship length: She’s :’) never :’) gone on dates let alone having a relationship sorta hard to do anything and more than likely she’d keep it a secret so I guess it’d be if someone were to find out!
preferred non-sexual intimacy: HOLDING HANDS!!! Pls 👉🏽👈🏽🥺 hold she hand
commitment level:  10000000% committed she’s not someone who is flakey!
opinion of public affection: She’s totally ok with it and if it’s cute she’d go “awwwww” at the couple.
past relationships?: Again she’s never dated anyone let alone formed crushes so none ;-;

“I think the mistake everyone made was to think that Stories was a photography product” says Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom. “If you look at all these interactivity features we’ve added, we’ve really made Stories something else. We’ve really innovated and made it our own.”
His version of the ephemeral slideshow format turns two years old today. By all accounts, it’s a wild success. Instagram Stories has 400 million daily users, compared to 191 million on Snapchat which pioneered Stories. While the first year was about getting to parity with augmented reality filters and stickers, the two have since diverged. Instagram chose the viral path.
Interactivity > Photoshop
Snapchat has become more and more like Photoshop, with its magic eraser for removing objects, its green screen-style background changer, scissors for cut-and-pasting things, and its fill-in paint bucket. These tools are remarkably powerful for living in a teen-centric consumer app. But many of these artistic concepts are too complicated for day-to-day Snapping. People don’t even think of using them when they could. And while what they produce is beautiful, the slides get tapped past and disappear just like any other photo or video.
Instagram could have become Photoshop. Its early photo-only feed’s editing filters and brightness sliders pointed in that direction. Instead, it chose to focus not on the “visual” but the “communication”. Instagram increasingly treats Stories as a two-way connection between creators and fans, or between friends. It’s not just one-to-many. It’s many-to-one as well.
Instagram Stories arrived three years after Snapchat Stories, yet it was the first to let you tag friends so they’d get a notification. Now those friends can repost Stories you tag them in, or public posts they want to comment on. You could finally dunk on other Instagrammers like you do with quote-tweets. It built polls with sliders friends can move to give you feedback about “how ridiculous is my outfit today?” Music stickers let you give a corny joke a corny soundtrack or share the epic song you heard in your head while looking out upon a beautiful landscape. And most recently, it launched the Question sticker so you can query friends through your Story and then share their answers there too. Suddenly, anyone could star in their own “Ask Me Anything”.
None of these Instagram tools require much ‘skill’. They’re designed not for designers, but for normal people trying to convey how they feel about the world around them. Since we’re social creatures, that perception is largely colored by someone’s friends or audience. Instagram lets you make them part of the Story. And the result is a product that grabs non-users or casual users and pulls them deeper into the Instagram universe, exposing people to the joy of creating something the last until tomorrow, not always forever.
Snap has been trying to get more interactive too, adding tagging for instance. It’s also got new multiplayer filter games called Snappables where you play with your face and can then post the footage to your Story. But again, they feel overly involved and therefore less accessible than where Instagram is going.
Stories Express Instagram’s Wild Side
Mimicking Photoshop reinforces the idea that everything has to look polished. That’s the opposite of what Systrom was going for with the launch of Instagram Stories. “There will always be an element in any public broadcast system of trying to show off” Systrom explains. “But what I see is it moving in the other direction. GIF stickers allow you to be way more informal than you used to be. Type mode means now people are just typing in thoughts rather than actually taking photos. Things like Superzoom with the TV effect or the beats — it’s anything but polished. If anything it’s a joke. Quantitatively people feel comfortable to post way more tp Stories than to feed.”
Systrom is about to go on paternity leave, and has been using Stories from friends with kids to collect ideas about what to do with his own. When asked if he thinks Stories produces less of the dangerous envy inherent in the feeds of social media success theater we passively consume, Systrom tells me “Just personally, it’s inspired me rather than it’s created any sense that I’m missing out”. Of course, that might be related to the fact that his life of attending the Met Gala and bicycling through Europe doesn’t leave much to envy.
AR filters have become table-stakes for Stories. On the left, Instagram. On the right, Snapchat.
The sense of comfort powered by Instagram purposefully pushing Stories to diverge from its classy feed has contributed to its explosion in popularity — not just for Stories but Instagram as a whole. It now has over 1 billion users, in part driven by it introducing Stories to developing countries Snapchat never penetrated.
“Remember how at the launch of Stories, I said it was a format and we want to make it original? And there was a bunch of criticism around us adopting this format?” Systrom chides, knowing a fair amount of that criticism came from me. “My response was this is a format and we’re going to innovate and make it our own. The whole idea there is to make it not just about photography but about expression. It’s a canvas for you to express yourself.”
At the time, Systrom also told me, regarding copying Snapchat, “They deserve all the credit” But Stories has since emerged as how Instagram expressed itself too, allowing it to break away from the staid perfection of the feed, becoming something much more goofy.
Now that success has emboldened it to try something truly new. IGTV lets people share longer-form vertical videos up to an hour in length in an age when vertical is for 15-second Stories and lengthy clips only exist in landscape mode.
“What I’m most proud of is that Instagram took a stand and tried a brand new thing that is frankly hard to pull off. Full-screen vertical video that’s mobile only. That doesn’t exist anywhere else” Systrom beams. “So the question is can we pull that off and the early signs are really good.” We’ll see if that’s born out in the numbers. Stories benefitted from early adopters immediately knowing what to post thanks to Snapchat. The price IGTV pays for originality is a steep learning curve.
Swallowing His Pride Saved Facebook
Last week when Facebook announced its revenue was decelerating as users shifted attention from its lucrative News Feed to Stories where it’s still educating advertisers, its share price tanked, deleting $120 billion in market cap. Yet imagine how much further it would have dropped if Systrom hadn’t been willing to put his pride aside, take Snapchat Stories, and give it the Insta spin? Instead, it led the way to Facebook now having over 1.1 billion (duplicated) daily Stories users across its apps. The poises Facebook and Instagram to earn a ton off of Stories.”
“There was a long time that desktop advertising worked really, really well but we knew the future was mobile and we’d have to go there. There was some short-term pain. Everyone was worried that went wouldn’t monetize as well” Systrom remembers. “We believe the future is the combination of feed and Stories, and it just takes time for Stories to get to the same level or even exceed feed.”
So does he feel vindicated in that once-derided decision to think of Stories not as Evan Spiegel’s property but a medium meant for everyone? “I don’t wake up everyday trying to feel vindicated. I wake up everyday trying to make sure our billion users have amazing stuff to use. I just feel lucky that they love what we produce” Systrom says with a laugh. “I don’t know if that fits your definition of vindicated.”
