[😞] Insecurity - We've all been there but what does it mean to you? How have you overcome your insecurities? ⭐I've felt insecure in different ways throughout my life. ✅ Financially - I grew up in an immigrant household. My parents worked factory jobs when I was young. I didn't grow up with luxuries at an early age which impacted my money mindset. I've had to rewire my money mindset which has helped me grow immensely. ✅ Body positivity - I felt quite ugly throughout my teen years. Being a South Asian child and teen in the city of Kitchener wasn't easy. I was often made fun of for the way I looked, how I dressed. I continuously tried to hide my true myself and tried to fit in as much as possible. Resulting in people pleasing behaviour. I had to reprogram myself to become confident in who I am. And not to mention my glow up and owning who I am, COMPLETELY. Not to say I don't feel insecure at times still but I'm able to manage my insecurities much better. ✅ Relationships - I've felt insecure in relationships for much of my life. Being in various toxic relationships (family, friendships, romantic) I've become an expert in this area. Needless to say, I had also contributed to the toxicity in the past. I had to dig DEEP here to change the patterns of relationships in my life. I had to begin with myself. This was extremely difficult but I am much happier today. I'm proud of the relationships I have and value them dearly from the heart. If you struggle with insecurity, you can get passed it. Insecurity was deeply rooted in my past. It is possible to be at peace and secure in who you are. Last Sunday, guest Pastor Nick Lloyd was visiting from Australia and shared a message at our church on Love Demonstrated by Honor. I didn't know that he had prayed over Chris during altar call until the sermon was coming to a close. Towards the end of the sermon he pointed to Chris, asking for his name. He said he didn't know whether or not he was going to share what the Lord had put on his heart and call Chris out, but he decided to do so. He shared Psalms 30:5 and said that he knew that our family was going through a difficult time, and while weeping may last through the night, the joy comes in the morning. He said that he knew our morning was coming soon. This brought tears to our eyes, because the last couple of months have been incredibly difficult for us. We have faced so many challenges. We have been waiting for news on the home that we've been trying to buy. Today Chris got word that the underwriters had signed off on things, which was a HUGE relief. Then, this evening, he got a call from the realtor stating that the appraisal was finished and that the house was appraised for less than what we had offered and if he understood things correctly there may be a possibility that our payments will be lower than expected. Our realtor said that we are shooting for a closing date of August 30th. As you might imagine, this news brought us an abundance of joy, indeed. To God be the glory!
