♧ Ignored Placements ♧

* We often talk about fixed signs and the angular houses the most in astrology due to their sexual reputations. But what about the placements with misunderstood reputations that aren't acknowledged by us at all?

Therefore the negative qualities of venus are felt with virgos nature. Usually this results in high amounts of jealousy shown towards them, the expectation to be ladylike and criticism of their looks, toxic relationships with other women, and a very low self esteem. The fact that kim kardashian and kylie jenner both have this placement shows how virgo venuses are forced to be sexual and are oversexualized in their persona but in reality they seem to feel restricted and have a disdain for sex a lot of the time. They are rejected for showing purity or provocation by the public, so sexuality has never been something they're comfortable with. I've met many who have this placement that tell me they feel restricted like they can't even explore sex or romance because OTHER people restrict and cticize them, wanting to keep them boxed in by their own standards of how a virgo venus should love or feel intimacy. There's a lot of unrecognized hurt that comes with this placement.

♧ Sagittarius placements - They are the adventurers meaning they seek and put their all into whatever they do. They aren't lucky they actually just work beyond what people think is possible. One of the most ambitious signs who can walk their talk. Most rappers actually have sagittarius placements because the sign that is a fiery and known as the philosopher would probably be a lyrical genius. They are good at connecting patterns and piecing things together. Gemini creates the puzzle and Sagittarius solves it. They are definitely the funniest placement but are in no way mean. They can be insensitive but most sagittarius are giving and understanding as they seek to understand. However they always think they're right and that can be annoying but whatever. They are also great actors because they can make you believe they are who YOU want them to be, or atleast they think you want from them. They manipulate people without realizing and get away with a lot because they are easily adored and almost worshipped by the public. In fact I actually see pisces placements that are stalked easily and attract obsessive and dark individuals. They are very intuitive and intelligent, often picking up concepts quickly and being one of the first to help create change. They are very accepting individuals as well, but their downfall lies in their ability to manipulate and decieve others without realizing. A pisces placement should never lie because it often blows up the most for some reason. Pisces feel misunderstood and as if no one tries to understand or figure them out and I think that's why they love virgos. It's the one sign that will analyze anything or anyone in sight so a cute love story I guess. They are easily drained too so take lots of rest.

♧ Moon conjunct Pluto - It's like there's this unspoken rule on astroblr that we must mention every other pluto aspect and their troubles except for the moon conjunction because we magically think they're not struggling at all?!? Hello people wake up, this is not a positive aspect and probably the most intense moon aspect because the moon is MERGING with pluto the ruler of the underworld, life, death, and sex. This means you grew up in a home where your mom resented you, controlled you, your home was filled with chaos and uncertainty, you struggle to contain your own emotions and are self destructive, and probably experienced a lot of trauma growing up. It also indicates intimacy issues, menstrual problems, extreme jealousy and obssession both felt and projected onto you, high magnetism, but also manipulative and deceitful tendencies. The effects of this aspect are most similar to venus conjunct pluto. It's one of the biggest stalker and scandal indicators as obsession is a big theme here.

♤ Jupiter - This planet is beneficial but sometimes extremely toxic. Another planet that can point to alcoholism and overindulgence in toxic behaviors, it can lead to cheating and impulsivity as well with the moon/venus conjunct jupiter aspect too. However people with a lot of jupiter aspects make for very intelligent and wise individuals. They often excel at school or whatever they set their mind too. Their creative ideas are unmatched.

♧ Uranus - This is the most ignored planet and I don't understand why. This planet isn't cold or detached, it's actually very erratic and confused like neptune but on a conscious level. It brings destruction, awakening, and change. It rules over electricity, mutations, radiation, natural disasters, revolutions, technology, astrology & astronomy, and the collective society. There's a lot to take in here that is very unexplored. Those with uranian dominance or aspects tend to be polarizing and could find it really difficult or easy to connect with others, they are very loud and clumsy people who attract endless amounts of attention to themselves. They do weird or scare people out but that's a part of their rambunctious charm. Honestly they could be a "pick me" but they are genuinely different than most people and that's just how it is, for the better or worse. Lots of them tend to feel left out or dumb because they're not practical or chill, but they're ingenious and that's a fact. We misunderstand and judge the planet that hates being judged too much.

♤ Mercury Aspects - You can see someones humor, mannerisms, and tone of voice through this planet. It's actually very fun to observe each mercury placement and their aspects in real life because most people mistake someones mercury placement for their sun sign. If someone talks too much they most likely have gemini-sagittarius influence on their mercury, if someone is academically disciplined yet judgemental it seems to always be capricorn mercuries, if someone is analytical and perfectionistic with their mindset (grammar police too) they're probably a virgo mercury, if someone is comedic and hosts parties or get togethers frequently then they're probably a leo mercury. You get the point it plays a big role.

Not really an anti thing, just something I've sorta been pondering and would like some more perspectives on.

Why is it that 2012-2014 is regarded as a sort of "golden age" of fandom? (Or at the very least, of Tumblr fandom?)

My perspective is pretty limited because I only started my first Tumblr account towards the end of 2014.

I know though that Superwholock was the big thing, Harry Potter was still popular (because JKR wasn't known for being a raging terf yet), Homestuck fandom was very active, Oncelermania, One Direction, Avengers, Gravity Falls, Rise of the Big Frozen Brave Tangled Dragons etc etc whatever else they added in, Steven Universe. I think it might have also been helped by the fact that smart phones were starting to become the standard phone and may have given people more access to social media than before.

But I know one thing that caused things to change is because after this time we saw a rise is "cringe culture", cringe compilations on Youtube were trendy.

I've seen a lot of people point to Voltron for causing a toxic shift in fandom attitudes. But (not to center my own experience or anything, I'm posting to hear more perspectives is all) in my opinion the release of The Force Awakens seems like it changed everything. As a day 1 Reylo shipper people were fucking VICIOUS. And it was so widespread too, even people who've never seen Star Wars participated in Reylo hate, because it was just trendy to hate us for some reason. I really do think this was a big part in contributing to the rise of the hypercritical discourse-y state of fandom we see today.

And it really feels like a rapid, night-and-day shift.

Now everyone is terrified of being perceived as "cringe" so it feels like there's this attitude of a sort of detached irony that wasn't there before. People just get so uncomfortable when they see other people fully embracing something, you kind of have to pretend you don't care all that much.

Or terrified of being perceived as problematic, so everyone was dancing in circles and jumping through hoops to condemn everything in sight to prove that THEY'RE definitely not problematic!

Another factor is that it feels like people STAYED in fandoms much longer then. Nowadays things blow up really fast and then disappear overnight. Everyone moves on to the next thing, and it's sometimes even seen as a little weird to still care about something that came out like, a year ago.

I don't know this got long and rambly.

Just curious to hear from more people who were active at the time.

LCDR. Genevieve "Zelda" Catrell

Genevieve Catrell did not intend to make the Navy her career. Her plan was to join the NROTC program and utilize the scholarship money to pay for her Electrical Engineering degree at MIT. She'd serve her time and then get out to join an engineering firm.

Her first time in a jet though it all changed. Gen fell in love with flying and her quick thinking and engineering-geared brain lent itself to being a WSO.

After graduating MIT in the top 3% of her class, Genevieve went on to become a highly skilled Naval Flight Officer with the callsign of Zelda. This was in reference to Genevieve's likeness to the video game character-- one minute she was a soft and gracious princess and in the air she is an efficient tactician with startling ingenuity when it came to the use of the weapons systems.

Zelda flew in the same squadron as Hangman (though not as his back seater as he preferred to fly alone). It was only a few short months after her assignment began that the two started dating--a surprise to most given Hangman's egotism and general abrasiveness and Zelda's quiet patience. It worked though because Zelda was unrattled by Hangman's talk, a fact that seemed to soften Hangman and the show he frequently put on. For his part, Hangman proved to be a surprisingly attentive boyfriend. The relationship didn't last, and the two broke up shortly before Hangman was selected to attend Top Gun.

It was while he was away at training that disaster struck. An immediate mission came up, and with their two best pilots away, the squadron paired Zelda with a pilot who was not ready for the high stakes situation. After being separated from their wingman Zelda and her frontseater were attacked by enemy aircraft. Despite having their engines shot down and the two entering a spin, Zelda was still able to transmit the necessary data they were sent to recover to the ship and maneuver the weapons system in such a way that they shot down one of the enemy planes as they crashed. She was only able to manage this however by not punching out, and she crashed with the plane.

It was frankly a miracle that Zelda survived and an even bigger miracle that search and recovery was able to find her and bring her back to the ship. Unfortunately, the miracles stopped there as the injuries she sustained made her unfit to fly again. Instead, Zelda transitioned to a role inside the ship to support pilots, now under the brand new title of Lieutenant Commander.

She now has a reputation for being hypercritical of reckless or nervous pilots due to her accident. She values safety over mission completion, although often she is able to help uncover a way to achieve both. It is due to her extensive skills in these areas that she is selected to consult with Vice Admiral Simpson and Captain Mitchell in order to achieve success in the special detachment. This is where she meets Max.

gotta get this out because this is taking up too much mental space:

while I enjoy my roommate at times, something about them really rubs me the wrong way. I just feel...stuck with them and it can show up as random frustration. like cool, you're a direct person who says whats on their mind but it can be so exhausting to deal with, especially when small things become magnified. plus whenever someone gives them any pushback they're suddenly engaged in a back and forth and bombarded with stream-of-consciousness style text messages. not because they want to understand, but because they want to be right. again, exhausting. they'll be quick to notice what youre not doing but incredibly quiet about what they're not doing. and if you address it? excuses. technicalities. word vomit. again...exhausting.

they've also described themselves as: lazy, bitchy, aggressive. they say they freak out but instead of trying to soothe themselves out of it, they unleash it onto other people. theyve said that sometimes they lie for fun, and that they try to put the least amount of effort in things. but if I said this they'd immediately say "no I never said that" regardless if it was true or not. of course a solution is to be direct and say things, but if I cant trust that they'll lie or move goalposts as they've often done, then i'd rather save my breath tbh.

Hypercritical, bitter vibes at times. I don't think its undue because they haven't had an easy life, but it feels like a lot of what they try to make a me problem is a them problem. It's like everyone has to adjust on their time, to their feelings, and if they don't then they're individualistic and a bad person. It's annoying. I've detached and I don't care anymore like? Just shut up? One day imma tell them that I don't care about their 200th opinion/criticism of the day after engaging with them for the past year, but then imma have to read a paragraph about how I hurt their feelings.

I can't change anybody and maybe my frustration is about wanting to. I'm not sure. It just feels frustrating to feel like you're the only one adjusting for the smallest things. again, exhausting.

An optimistic jokester, who has the tendency to be a bit sarcastic. Alan is funny, humorous and mischievous, but he can also be very serious and mature, when the situation calls for it. He has a great sense of responsibility.

with the fool + warrior cards yeonjun wants someone who has two sides to them, one of them being someone who’s very humorous and able to lighten any situation with their words, and the other being the warrior who is someone who again is very independent and works hard for everything they have + unafraid to stand their ground. we have a venus in leo getting the leo card for their ideal type are we even surprised, lion talks about someone who’s patient and regal but also being a complete master in whatever they do, i feel yeonjun’s ideal type might intimidate a lot of people as people often sense how powerful their aura is before even hearing them speak. house six rules virgo and since yeonjun’s a virgo sun this again is unsurprising, yeonjun wants someone who’s very observant and practical which is reiterated by the magician and lion cards.

AS A BOYFRIEND

with the 5 of cups rx card, this tells me that yeonjun could be the type to keep to himself regarding his problems and sometimes even be an optimist (sag mars), he could be the type to overanalyse everything he’s done wether good or bad as virgos are prone to be hypercritical especially with themselves. the 8 of swords can indicate someone who has sort of a victim complex or someone who’s inner critic often chimes in, i feel in a relationship yeonjun expects himself to be perfect and has a tendency to hyperanalyse everything he does and if he makes a mistake he would be the type to think about it over and over again so he could be a bit detached as he lives in his thoughts, with these two cards i did also get the vibe though that he could be someone who could possibly find it difficult to be objective as he’s too intertwined with his own thoughts (unsurprising leo venus + virgo sun) but i don’t think this is too extreme as he’s a libra moon and they’re known to be very fair whenever difficult situations arise. the chariot does tell me that he’s more of an action-oriented person and would rather show his partner his love rather than verbalise it, definitely can see him being the type to hype his significant other and could be very touchy with them as well, but he can be very stubborn due to his deterministic nature so if his partner tries to control him it’s not gonna work lol. the 6 of wands tell me that yeonjun is definitely the boyfriend that wants to see his partner succeed and is willing to help them get there if needed, definitely wants to share his positivity with those around him and loves being the centre of attention. 

with the detective card yeonjun’s definitely an observer and i feel he can tend to mimic his s.o if he spends a long enough time around them as libra moons are known to “mirror” their partner, he’ll definitely be the type to want to learn about his person and know them like the back of his hand. a virgo sun pulled the hermit card how fitting, basically reiterates my points earlier about how he’s observant and can be detached but i feel this card also talks about the fact that communication is a huge need for him and he needs to be able to have a good level of communication with his s.o in order for him to commit as the hermit card rules mercury. the elk card talks about someone who’s very wise and can be seen as a sort of “father figure” which definitely emphasises the hermit card earlier and the stubbornness i touched on earlier, the elks are described as being supportive, kind and consistent so he’s definitely loyal and reliable. the venus card tells me that yeonjun ultimately loves being in love, his libra moon definitely is a big hopeless romantic and being romantic/showing love is second nature to him.

Agree with so many of those unpopular GG opinions! The revival while terrible in many ways did cement for me that Rory and Logan are the true loves of each other's lives. Luke/Lorelai worked so much better as friends. Fans really are way too forgiving of Luke considering his lying about having a long lost child and so much else. And he's way too angry and bitter with absolutely no reason to be. His anger management issues, determination to complain and be as miserable as possible, jealousy, and pre-school-level communication skills would drive me crazy. And he and Lorelai seemed so unhappy and just didn't work romantically at all. (It's also interesting how little physical affection there is between them and how the actors kind of cringe when they have to exchange even quick pecks on the lips---the actors had terrible chemistry imuo!) Season 7 is a lot more pleasant to watch than season 6 and the revival overall. Rogan is extraordinarily underrated and often the closest thing GG had to a happy and compatible ship outside of (sometimes) Sookie and Jackson. Some more UOs: Dean and Luke are almost identical characters in terms of both strengths and flaws so it cracks me up that the fandom despises Dean with such a white hot intensity while insisting on Luke being close to male perfection lol. Fans also worship Emily but while she's a very well-written character, she would be pure misery to deal with in real life. Those of us with very hypercritical, manipulative and closed minded family members are probably a bit less on the "Emily is a queen!" train :) I also see a lot out there about how Paris deserves a better friend than Rory, and while I know people look for any and every excuse to hate Rory, she was actually a lot kinder and more patient and forgiving of Paris than I think almost ANYONE would be in real life. This one is pretty clear from the above but Logan is a much better boyfriend and romantic partner than Luke, and it isn't even close! Logan can communicate more openly than almost any other main GG character (which isn't saying much, but still, lol), he's much more open to compromise than Luke or for that matter Lorelai ever are, he tries to be pleasant and positive (people underestimate how important that is when you're spending every day with someone!), he's EXTREMELY supportive and thoughtful, he's very affectionate, he gives Rory independence while still very much letting her into his life (Jess was too emotionally detached and guarded while Dean was too clingy - Logan is that perfect medium that Rory needs), he makes an effort to get along with her family, and he always accepts Rory for who she is. He challenges her but never tries to change her, which is huge. Oh, and he and Rory actually enjoy each other's company, are compatible intellectually, emotionally and physically, and can have...actual conversations about some things that matter :) Also one more thing, I really think you and your anons have to be right about Champagne Problems being written in part as a tribute to Rogan!

luke lying about his child was the woooorst storyline like if he just told lorelai from the start she would've understood?? and probably helped him figure out how to bond with her??? overall i felt like they had such a good slow burn and worked so well on the friends/lovers borderline that when they actually became a proper couple it just couldn't live up to the build up. like i was still rooting for them through their issues but it wasn't the same as how i'd felt hoping they'd get together in the first place.

i'd never thought about it before but i actually agree about dean and luke! both were like the reliable guy who'll help around the house, both could get a temper, etc

i agree about emily - she's a good character to watch and i liked her development a lot but as an actual family member she'd be a nightmare like constantly criticizing lorelai's life choices and interfering in her relationships, throwing rory that weird male suitors party and getting the priest to come talk to her about losing her virginity?? yikes

also about paris and rory, like paris was A Lot and their friendship was actually sort of perfectly imperfect

logan is THE boyfriend of the show for me (other than dave rygalski whose only flaw was leaving 😔) i totally agree with every reason you've mentioned. i love how gets better through his time on the show as well, both as an individual and as a partner. like overall their communication was pretty good from the start but also when they had bad moments (i.e. not actually discussing whether it was a breakup or having a conversation about what they'd done during their time apart) they worked and got better at it, so that by season 7 they were really solid. also they dealt with a lot that probably most relationships on the show wouldn't have made it through like long distance, his family disapproving, her going through the messiest and most difficult time in her life with yale/lorelai etc, literally just living together..... which of course makes it even worse when they break up so quickly at the end 😭

Does it ever seem like a number of people just take it too far when it comes to going after a series? Like, I'm not talking about fairly criticizing the flaws of a series. I mean like outright dogpiling anyone who wants to have their own space to talk about a series that they understand is flawed, but still want to have an overall positive atmosphere about it, but then people keep coming in and insistently refuse to stop hounding people for daring to like it. Like just acting as if the series being very flawed is some kind of indictment of the fans who like it, that the fans are just "shallow losers who uncritically accept whatever gets thrown at them", and generally just being so consistently unpleasant if anyone dares to have any remotely positive thought because they think that being such a hypercritical assholes about it somehow makes them "deeper thinkers and better fans", DESPITE the fact that the people they talk down to are not brainless and stupid? And the series in question gets hit with waves upon waves of YouTubers/online grifters pretending to be fans to get easy views and money/former fans who are so excessively bitter because the series didn't do what they want and now they're just exaggerating the flaws for the sake of views because they know most people won't do the research and just uncritically assume they're right? Like I get criticism, and Lily said that one should try not to be too attached to any series, but it doesn't make dealing with that kind of cesspool of nasty behavior any less exhausting even when you try to remain detached.

I hate to break it to you, but that behavior is nowhere near as common as you think it is. It’s usually the fans of a piece of media that go after a critic for daring be critical of it, even when said critic said nothing of the fans that consume said media. The fans just took it as a personal affront.

When it comes to grifters, they don’t just say that series are bad. They specifically cultivate an audience with the Anti-SJW crowd because they’re so incapable of critical thought and have consumed so much of the Kool-Aid that they’ll look at these grifters and go “Yeah, this person that never gave a shit about this series until it mentioned diversity/inclusion/representation/anti-racism etc TOTALLY knows what they’re talking about and their commentary is totally in good faith.”
