when he was god he could've fixed the world but failed to

he never really patched things up with his angel brethren in heaven

he never actually felt like he belonged on earth

(likely connected to above but) he had very few friends

he had a very, very limited wardrobe

as cas looks back on his life, it's probably nothing but one giant sweep of regret

misha did book-end it with:

Spn season 4 au where most stuff is the same, but Cas is in her 1901 female vessel the whole time, and she realises from the beginning that Sam and Dean think she’s a demon so she just rolls with that and pretends to be one for like the whole season. Also, she hates Dean right off the bat and is only associating with him begrudgingly (he prob makes some gross sexual comment to her on first meeting and that’s what did it idk).

honest to god I don't get how it became a big thing what happened with Mary. they all knew that Jack might be soulless. then when Cas tells him about the snake, Dean is angry because it's just a fucking snake like what does it have to do with anything. and Cas is scared of loosing his family but instead of just being with his family and figuring things out with his family he leaves. and then Dean and Sam are angry with him for not telling them that something was wrong with Jack. when everyone was there when Jack burnt his soul. and Dean is extremely angry at Cas but when Cas he didn't tell him about the snake because he didn't wanna loose his family, Dean still says is just a snake but then is like that's the only thing that Cas saw that Dean and Sam didn't that could (maybe) give him an indication of something being wrong. the writing didn't make sense for this. this doesn't even make sense.
