Ok so fav one I've read, mostly for nostalgia reasons, is of friggin course Chicken Bones

Read it as a kid and it was the earliest reading experience I can remember going "WOAH... YOU CAN HAVE A VILLAIN WITHOUT SEEING THE VILLAIN??? YOU CAN HAVE STORY HAPPEN BEHIND THE SCENES AND STILL KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING WITHOUT IT BEING SPOON-FED TO THE AUDIENCE??? YOU CAN HAVE A CLIFFHANGER ENDING THAT DOESN'T SUCK???? AMAZING" and it's changed my brain chemistry ever since. I want to learn how to do what the ending of chicken bones did to 12 year old me

Also it has a cool setting description at one point and the protagonist's only description is a canonically ugly haircut <333 gotta love me a story where the protagonist isn't a sacred little angel or the coolest guy in the room

CURRENT favorite creepypasta to listen to is Creepsmcpasta's edition of Mayhem Mountain!!!

I GENUINELY USE THIS TO HELP ME FALL ASLEEP.

ITS A DANG GOOD ONE BECAUSE ok ngl I'm just realizing how similar my reasoning is for liking both stories. Apparently I have a type

Anyway spoilers:

- also has a villain (this time with a name) but they never see or interact with him once

- ARCHITECTURAL HORROR!!!!!

- A MIDDLE AGED CAST!!!!

- all with distinct personalities that are shown through the way they interact with each other, not just told as archetypes!!!

- there's TWO girl characters, and they aren't JUST "and this is my unnamed girlfriend who dies" ((my standards are so low for pastas hAHQGEFD))

- THE NARRATION IS. MMMM 👌👌👌 GOALS. The author shows what needs to be shown and tells just enough without it being too much and its delicious

- actually really accurate descriptions of what it's like to be in a life or death situation instead of the protag reacting like an anime character or an action hero to it

- and apparently I'm a huge sucker for "the villain is still at large" stories where the villain is a normal human instead of an unkillable monster

ANYWAY YES. CREEPYPASTAS MY BE FRIGGIN L O V E D. There's more good ones but these two take the cake for me hands down

if you know creepypasta do you have any favorite homestuck creepypastas? if there are any

I can only find like these three here. It's fine, I suppose. Creepypastas based on existing media tends to be a hit or miss. It was sort of cool way back then, but not as much now besides maybe appearing in other variations like the Sonic.exe or Hypno's Lullaby that you see in Friday Night Funkin'. For creepypastas in general, stuff like the NES Godzilla, Ben Drowned, There's Something Terribly Wrong With My Son, The Horrors From the Vault collection, Mayhem Mountain, and A Favor for a Favor. Tales from the Gas Station and Accounts From a Lonely Broadcast Station.

Abandoned By Disney – creepypasta set around an abandoned Disney park, part of a series if you want to go digging (all of them are pretty decent imo)

CCTV Footage – first heard this one as a readout on YouTube while I was trying to get to sleep... sleep did not happen so I transcribed it and posted it instead

Whimsywood – another creepy amusement park one, what can I say, I love the atmosphere

Turn It Off – something terrorises two friends in the forest behind their homes

Mayhem Mountain -- another creepy amusement park one but tbh this tapped in to precisely what I fear when about to get on a rollercoaster

Goatman – yall gotta read Goatman like this story traumatised a generation I’m pretty sure

The Lost Town of Deepwood, Pennsylvania – part of a series, long but very worth the read with good suspense and some really original imagery

The Thing That Stalks the Fields – another one of the longer classics like... this is really eerie especially because I live surrounded by fields now

After the 85 ton event, the Gaming Authorities upped their game a bit, and allowed us to bring the 90 tonners for some Mechanized mayhem.

For me, the news was recieved by mixed feelings. Yes, I had a full line of Ignis ready to burn the opponents, and a couple handfuls of Antis/Regis/Aspis to sprinkle as reinforcements for the rest of the lines.

But I was still stuck on K3, two tops over what should have been my regular hunt of K5, and the regular contenders this time would have Licences 50-140 higher than mine.

That equates to 1-3 dozen additional weapions on each of their Mechs, and 30-80% thicker armor.

But again, sulking about the unfairness of it would bring no prizes, while slugging it out might get me some.

The formation was assembled, and due to an early arrival we managed to grab one of the slope positions.

But the scramble was still far into the future, and other tasks were at hand as well.

Then I got an assignment that would keep me away from the scramble. Cursing under my breath, a return to the mountain was undertaken.

My troops had been thrown off the slopes and huddled at one of the lower foothills. Examening the opponents, it seemed at least some of them were mostly in their main formations still, so perhaps...

Quite a few assaults later (most failed) we were again on the slopes. The crew were told I had to go, and that they were to hold as best they could, and to get me some footage of the fighting.

Their stubborn resistance to further incursions let them keep the position, and the footage they gathered let me figure out the winners this time had been.

Total medals claimed: 159 (of 165 possible)

Compared to the 85 ton event we just had, the number of fighting formations present rose by eleven.

But again, the entry requirements for Mount Olympus was to stringent for that top to be filled, and this time the most popular top (K7) had more contestants than the 3 least popular tops put together.

All in all, this resulted in six unclaimed Bronzes, which were returned for resmelting after the award ceremony.

The last half-hour saw only two Golds being succesfully fought over, one of them not decided until the last half-minute. Seven of the remaining nine Golds were held for more than two hours, four of them for more than a day.

Sounds like at least on some tops the diference between the haves and have nots was too big to overcome, but how unequal was the situation further down? To find out we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:

Pretty static event overall. Three tops (K8, K10 and K11) without even a single succesfull medal attack, vs K2 who was the sole top where the majority of the Medals found fresh holders. On the seven remaining tops, only nine out of twenty-eight Silvers and fourteen out of sixty-four Bronzes changed hands.

This was another event where none of the clans managed to bring home more than one Gold. Currently Unaligned Don Davis won on K2, and the sole repeat winner was Ben Rail from 中臣氏 on Mount Olympus.

Upcoming event: King Chrono

Here we are at it again. No restrictions whatsoever on the lineup, -if you can get the Mech into the formation it is legal.

I listened to the Mayhem Mountain Creepypasta today at work and for some reason, I can't get it out of my head. I think it's because amusement park and roller coaster stories are close to my heart. I practically grew up on coasters at Cedar Point. I definitely recommend it. It's very good!

dear god I was going through your creepypasta tag and I just read through Mayhem Mountain for the first time and uhhhhh. I was not. PrepARED for how harrowing that was holy SHIT. it is broad daylight and I am shook. That fucked me up more than Goatman. (Also do u. Do u got any more good stories lyin around. By any chance. )

I'd just like you to know that thanks to your creepypasta rec list, I will probably never go on a roller coaster again, I can't even look at them anymore without getting bad anxiety lol

god this was the problem I had tbh… I love rollercoaster/theme park based creepypastas but there is definitely an anxiety present when I’m on rollercoasters that I never used to have. guess I played myself there.

for real though, Mayhem Mountain is quite literally my worst fear for a rollercoaster.
