Okay, okay, I’m going to start this by saying I haven’t actually watched the lore yet, I’ve only seen people screaming about it

But, but. Apparently. Sam and Phil knew each other. Really knew each other. Before the Dream SMP. But had a falling out because of Sam’s clones

I feel like that adds a LOT of layers to the interaction Sam and Phil have in that one Tommy stream. The one right after dream escapes prison (link timestamp- 41:51)

They have this interaction:

Sam: Oh, Philza

Phil: Sam

Sam: it’s good to see you!

Phil: I wish I could say the same

And I know, I know it’s mainly because the prison break literally just happened but. I can’t help but feel. There’s a lot being unsaid there. That it goes deeper than that

[note i havent watched the vod yet. all i have is summaries from fifty different people if someone wants to dispute this with evidence go ahead]

okay so throws my hat into the ring.

if we take phils advice as “material possessions are alright until they start becoming valued over others lives” that is Good Advice. he is not saying attachments are inherently bad or that you have to forfeit them for the sake of valuing others better.

the issue is that phil Doesnt Know The Whole Story.

he’s giving this advice to someone who already knows that you cannot hold material things over other peoples lives. he has been a direct Victim of someone holding material things over other peoples lives that he has suffered from. to tommy and a lot of other abuse survivors, having shit you are attached to and own is a good thing because it gives you some sense of autonomy and comfort.

furthermore, the way its delivered felt less of the genuine Good Advice and more like “your attachments are getting in the way of the people who are there to support you, you should not have them because you already have people”. tommys abuser is out of fucking jail because you helped him out of jail king. he needs to feel safe and if material things help him feel safe then he should have them.

its like. phil is already aiming for “rehabilitation” when the threat is still very real and present and tommy has a Very Good Reason to want and need comfort. healing can only really happen when the abuser is gone and out of his life for good.

like if it is genuinely “valuing items is alright until they interfere with peoples lives” okay thats good! you sure you want to bring that advice to an abuse victim who’s abuser was just freed (by you and the besties) and has promised to make said victim’s life hell until the end of time, thus placing the victim into a position where he desperately needs 1) safety and 2) the feeling of safety and comfort? are you Sure thats the play?

#this isnt even touching on lmanburg or his reaction to tommy hesitating #bc i could also go off about that and how paradoxical this world view becomes #like obviously his immortality interferes with shit like this #and its very very interesting how it happens #and i want to make it clear that i am a huge fan of cphil hes my beloved caw caw #that doesnt mean i cant dunk him for being an asshole #c!philza critical #dsmp #elm rambles

au where cwilbur is forced to visit his limbo everytime he sleeps

this is ignoring cranboo’s existence sorry i love him but i came up with this idea before he,, yk,,, fucking died so we’re ignoring him. this is also very rough lol

he walks endlessly each night— his limbo not having any true end— until eventually he notices blue smears across the walls. he walks faster because he doesnt remember putting that there. the blue on the walls start taking shape the more he walks, in the form of drawings of sheep and people he recognized and words. it’s not long until he finds ghostbur, curled up in a ball.

their first few conversations are, well, strained to put it lightly. it’s awkward and the two don’t mesh well together at first. cwilbur is quick to taunt the ghost which obviously puts ghostbur off and it all escalates from there. but i guess he can’t be a bitch forever and sometimes it’s just hard to talk to people so eventually they’re just stuck sitting there in awkward silence.

(cwilbur wants to leave. multiple times. and he can! he can call a train and he’ll wake up, but he won’t get enough sleep. he was fine with that but you can only deprive yourself of sleep for so long and cphil was about to strangle him for it. so he has to stay, for at least long enough to not be dead on his feet.)

ghostbur makes the first move after that. a simple “how was your day?” and though it’s still awkward it’s enough for things to be just a little bit better.

they bond after that. and, weird enough, cwilbur can kind of.. look forward to visiting limbo. sort of? not really? he dreads it less, at least.

and uhhh honestly i haven’t planned out the middle that much but. i feel like they’d have one of those cliche argument-driven realizations with a lot of crying and hugs because i am a simple, simple man who just really likes hurt/comfort tropes. i have thoughts about the end, though.

the end:

cwilbur & ghostbur ballroom dancing, not for any real reason other than just for fun (and because i think it has nice vibes.) they hug each other and ghostbur disappears, leaving cwilbur feeling a little more whole.

yes like omori. sue me /j

it’s not like a “omg, ghostbur is gone forever!” thing; it’s more like them merging together because they’re both cwilbur. it’s more symbolic. ghostbur is cwilbur’s “softer” side that he tries to repress so it’d be more like cwilbur accepting that side.

he wakes up and past that point his limbo is left far behind him. he never sees it again.

hypothetically if i wrote this it would be a sort of set up for a cwilbur redemption i imagine the ending scene to final duet because goddammit omori my beloved and also i’ve been thinking about final duet with cwilbur for a while

fun fact i animated part of the ending scene to final duet! thats where i got the drawing from lmao

last thing i just think this idea is funny: early on cwilbur going “hey ghostbur, look what i can do!” calling a train and leaving
