So I found out today that the judge that ruled in my eviction case has a bad reputation of being really nasty to members of the LGBT community and disabled people, which kind of checks out considering how she treated me.

She purposely and aggressively misgendered me despite the fact that I actually have my legal gender updated (just not my legal name changed) even after her clerk and receptionist went out of her way to be respectful and to match the pronouns that go with my legal gender (and whenever I showed up, she actually asked me if my name was my partner's legal name, and she was extremely shocked to realize that I was transgender and not a cisgender man).

I mentioned to her that I was hearing impaired and that I have a neurological disorder that affects my speech, but she refused to allow me to have any type of interpreter or accessibility device, and even refused to allow me to review the typed transcript of what was being said in the courtroom so that I could understand what was going on.

She caused me to have a dissociative episode during the hearing because she screamed at my face as loud as she could at one point and allowed my landlords to scream at me during multiple points before finally shutting them down whenever my landlord started acting like she was going to physically harm me, and I explained to her that I didn't understand what was going on and that I was dissociating, but she refused to allow me to get a continuance or to reschedule, causing me to black out during several points whenever I was supposed to be testifying. I explained to her at one point whenever I was kind of lucid that I didn't understand what was going on and that I couldn't properly think of any of my prepared questions or anything that I had brought as evidence because I was dissociating in and out, but she still would not allow me to come back and testify later or to make any type of accommodations.

Today I found out from someone who had seen online reviews and discussion about this judge that, apparently, she did the same thing to an intellectually disabled gentleman (refuse to accommodations and refuse to allow him to come back whenever he was able to get an attorney or someone else who was able to explain things to him) and someone who was completely deaf who requested an ASL interpreter and was denied (I am only unilaterally deaf, so I still have some hearing, but not enough for me to have fully understood everything that was going on there without some type of transcript or having someone write it down for me. I don't use ASL, but apparently even if I did, it would not have been available to me).

I want to make a complaint to the state but they don't have judges or district justices listed on the law board's complaint website, so I have to call back tomorrow during business hours and file a complaint over the phone.

It might sound stupid but I was so busy catastrophizing and being upset over what was going on that it didn't really occur to me that I was treated badly because of my disability or because of me being queer, I just figured that the judge was a cunt because she's a cunt, but the more other people pointed out to me the more I realize that she treated me like shit and gave me a really harsh and negative judgment because of her own personal beliefs on people like me, which is really fucked up and shouldn't happen if you're a judge or otherwise work in the legal system.

So yeah please make sure to do a little bit of research before you go to court to find out if you actually need extra help like an advocate or an attorney, even if it's a civil matter, because accessibility and basic human decency isn't always approved by the court depending on who the judge is and how much of a dick they want to be.

So I don't know if anyone has been keeping up on this case, but I tried looking for posts on it and I've only found transphobic rants and comments. So just... spreading awareness.

There is an ongoing case in Australia currently (the hearing has concluded but the ruling has not been announced) where Roxy Tickle, a trans woman, is suing the Giggle for Girls app and its founder for $100,000, plus another $100,000. Giggle for Girls is a platform exclusively for women, and Roxy was banned from the app after joining.

The app already has a lot of problematic features on it. For example, any new user is required to submit a selfie-- a photo which is then analyzed by ai to determine whether or not the user is a woman. For Roxy, the ai wasn't the issue, however-- in fact, she used the app for several months with no problem. Instead, the owner of the app manually and purposefully overrode the ai, revoking Roxy's access to the app, because she saw her profile. She then refused to reinstate her account and blocked her.

The founder of the app, Sall Grover, has knowingly and persistently misgendered Roxy dozens of times in interviews, articles and posts. I have a chrome extension that shows if a website is queerphobic or not, and when I look up Roxy's name there are only two results not in red.

As well as this, the additional $100,000 dollars Roxy is suing for? That's because of an online campaign waged against her by Grover, who has a large platform on Twitter. Katherine Deves, who had been representing Giggle in court tried to get the case thrown out. And Grover quite literally called in evolutionary biologist Colin Wright to advocate for her case. He's giving evidence for the trial.

There is a fundraiser to "reclaim sex based rights and protections for all women and girls" created specifically for this case. It has raised over $500,000, and that number is still growing.

Anyways. I don't know if I was just the last one to know about this, but the fact that I even found out about this case was because of a post a terf made scares me.

I had a dream the other night that I had to go to court for my disability because I had to prove that I needed it, but in the dream nothing that happened at court made sense and I remembered being so scared that they wouldn’t see how much I needed help.

I remember at one point someone, maybe me? Or someone’s else, or both? Were on the beach and were bleeding because of being wounded by drift wood. Yeah, idk but apparently being wounded by drift wood meant i wasn’t eligible for disability, so then I was both pissed and trying to explain how my seizures really did affect my everyday life and incredibly sad because they denied me and I didn’t know how I was going to be okay with out financial help

Yeah, sometimes dreams bring some real feelings to the surface.

I haven’t heard anything yet from the people about my disability application in real life and waiting is very hard.

Why is the case back in court?

You could be forgiven for thinking the December ruling meant case closed - but as is often the way with legal proceedings, a resolution isn’t so straightforward.

The court will today look at some unresolved matters: legal costs and additional articles in Prince Harry’s claim.

Let’s firstly look at costs: at a hearing last month, lawyers argued over who should pay the legal bills racked up during the case.

Lawyers for Prince Harry and the three other claimants (whose names were in our earlier post) want MGN to pay a legal bill of nearly £2m. MGN are fighting that and have argued three of the claimants should pay some of its own legal fees.

Secondly, the ruling handed down in December looked at 33 articles. However, there are a further 115 stories that haven’t been assessed by a court. Prince Harry’s lawyers have said they want those to be tested at a trial as well. MGN have offered an undisclosed sum to settle the proceedings.

“Took him a while to get to the point, that day. And it was a stupid point. Delay tactic.

Q. Mr Gallagher, is it true that you were alone in Mrs Marcoset’s home on multiple occasions when she went out?

A. Yes.

Q. Is it true that you were not told what she was doing on those trips?

A. Yes.

Q. Is it true that you spent periods of time in a separate part of the house to her, unaware of what she was doing?

A. She locked me in the basement sometimes, yes.

Q. Even that aside, Mr Gallagher, is it true that you cannot be sure of what she was doing at all times?

A. Yes.

“See. Load of crap just to get to the point.”

Q. In that time, is it possible she could have met with other man?

A. I guess. Yes.

Q. And did these trips continue throughout 20XX, before Mrs Marcoset announced her pregnancy?

A. –Yes.

“She was so fucking offended. But she knew why it was done. They ordered the paternity tests after that, and that was another fucking week gone.”

Q. How was your arm broken?

A. It was a few months before she – Savvie – said she was pregnant with Isabella. I was taken to visit her uncle, Isaac Marcoset. He asked her to bring me, she said. When we arrived I was taken to a room, with the people he called staff all lined up inside.

Q. For clarity, Mr Gallagher, what do you mean by ‘the people he called staff’?

A. I met a lot of people who worked in the house. They were called staff, but I never saw them being paid or leaving the property, and some of them said they were born there.

Q. Thank you, Mr Gallagher. Please continue. What happened when you were brought before the staff?

A. Isaac took my arm in both hands and broke it. I hadn’t seen him in a while, I didn’t know what it was about. I gave him lip, of course – the others all looked scared and I wanted to make them feel better. It hurt a lot. But I told him he wasn’t so big and scary. He pushed me into the wall for that and yanked on my arm till it came out the shoulder.

Q. Were you given medical treatment?

A. Yeah, Stewart set my shoulder.

Q. By Stewart, are you referring to the Box Boy owned by Isaac Marcoset, designated Fifteen?

A. Well, yeah, but can I call him Stewart? He was only ever called the steward when I was there, but I thought I should call him by a real name. I’ve been a number before and it’s important, having your name. He liked it.

Q. I understand. Let the record show that ‘Stewart’ refers to Fifteen.

MR ROOKS: Could the Box Boy be referred to with his legal name, please? As we have settled the matter of using legal or chosen names in the court.

“That pissed me off. But the lawyer told me later it probably backfired ‘cause I never managed it on the first try. Stewart is Stewart. Made me look like a good guy, to humanise him like that.”

BY MX WHITE:

Q. Did you receive any other treatment?

A. They took me to a doctor who knew about me being a captive. He cast the arm and gave me painkillers.

Q. Did he give the painkillers to you directly?

A. No, actually. He gave them to Savvie.

Q. Describe your access to pain relief through your recovery period.

A. It was – erratic. Savvie controlled when I ate and slept, and she took over that too. She didn’t let me touch them. I was told to stay in the bed, her bed in her bedroom, and she would bring them over when the alarm went off. But most times she’d say I had to kiss her first, or ask if I really wanted them, before she let me have them. Or she’d forget. I’d remind her if she was there, but if she wasn’t, there was nothing I could do. A few times she’d be in a bad mood and say she was too upset to get them, or I’d get them if I apologised to her. One time I remember, she turned off the alarm. I could see the sun and I knew it was time. But when I asked her, she said it wasn’t time yet. She asked if it hurt, and then she told me I had to lift it see if it could go higher than yesterday.

Q. Who took over your household work during that time?

A. Hannah. She’d come by a few times a week and work on cleaning the whole house, same as I had to. I spoke to her a bit. She had a collar, same as me.

Q. How did Ms Marcoset react?

A. She was furious. The first time I met Hannah, she was out. When she came home she grabbed my arm, the broken arm, and squeezed it as hard as she could. She said I wasn’t like the others, I wasn’t staff. Because she loved me. I told her she was hurting me, the pain was – I can’t describe it. Really f- really bad.

Q. Did Ms Marcoset realise she was hurting you?

A. Yes. You could see it in her eyes. They went wide, and – and her breathing picked up, like she was excited. When I said she was hurting me, she said she knew. I asked her why. She said – because I can. Because I want to.

“God, Jax.”

“…Yeah.”

Q. Did she release you?

A. Eventually. She made me wait. I thought I was going to be sick, or pass out. I couldn’t breathe right. She just told me to look at her. She said, she said I should be able to hurt a, a little. For her. I had, she left nail tracks on my arm. It was out of the cast, I don’t think I said. She dug her nails in so hard I had lines of blood. Those ones didn’t scar. I have a lot on my back, from her, but – a lot of nail scratches on my back. They weren’t the only ones.

“It gets worse.”

BY MR ROOKS:

Q. You told the court that you were treated by a doctor, Mr Gallagher. Are you referring to Dr Russell Leppelman?

A. Yes, I think that’s him.

Q. Is it true you were taken to him by Mrs Marcoset for that treatment, immediately after you were injured by Isaac Marcoset?

A. Yes. Stewart, uh, Fifteen told her to.

Q. Is it true that Dr Leppelman provided you with a cast, painkillers and a treatment plan?

A. Well he refused at first. He called me a pet. But—

Q. Did he treat you?

A. He did, yes.

Q. Is it true that he treated you in private, away from Mrs Marcoset?

A. Yes.

Q. Did he ask whether you had any allergies?

A. Yes.

Q. Did he perform a wellbeing check?

A. What does that mean?

Q. Did he ask after your personal safety and mental health?

A. Yes.

Q. Did he act unprofessional towards you in any way?

A. Not in the treatment.

Q. So you were separated from Mrs Marcoset, alone, with a healthcare professional who was attending to your wellbeing and health, but you did not ask him to help you escape the captivity you claimed?

A. I did, actually.

“She didn’t know about that bit. Figured they’d ask it, they asked it about every time I admitted to meeting another fucking soul.”

A. I told him I was a slave, and he said I should call myself lucky I wasn’t treated like the others. He said I was a pet. He said he played golf with Isaac and none of his people dressed as nice as the clothes I had on. I asked if I got patient confidence and he said yes, unless I was rude, basically.

Q. So you had patient confidence, and you asked him for help?

A. I asked him if he would help me and he said he wouldn’t.

Q. He invited you to share what you wanted in patient confidence, is that true?

A. Yes, true enough. I asked if she was on birth control because I was worried about kids. That surprised him. He said she wouldn’t keep her kids as slaves.

Q. Did he provide you with that information?

A. He told me she was. I asked if he knew about the other slaves, the staff. He said he knew. But he said she wouldn’t hurt her own kids.

Q. Why do you consider that an unreasonable belief?

A. He knew her. He said, what did you expect from a Marcoset? He knew her dad and her uncle, he knew about the staff and that some of them were blood relatives.

Q. That has not been proven. Did you actually ask him for help escaping captivity?

A. I did. I could see he didn’t like the idea of her having kids. He knew that would be bad. So I said, if eventually she goes off birth control, and there are kids now, would he help? He told me not to worry about it.

Q. Is it true that he did offer to help, although he believed it would not happen?

A. Not really. He said I was playing for pity. He said I should be good and, lie back, and think of England, and put up with it. He said I should try harder to make her happy with me. He said, specifically said, he wouldn’t tell anyone about me.

Q. Dr Leppelman said he would help, in the situation you imagined, if he believed the children would benefit from his intervention. Is that true?

A. Yes. But—

Q. So did you ask for help escaping from captivity for yourself?

A. No, because he told me before that point that he wouldn’t. He also hit me. Twice.

Q. Is it true that he explained his family was under threat?

A. He mentioned it. He said I wasn’t worth it.

Q. Do you consider it unreasonable for him to prioritise his family over a stranger?

A. Not me. But he knew about the child slaves. He should have at least done something for those kids.

Q. But is it true that you did not ask for help for your own sake, Mr Gallagher?

A. Yeah.

Q: Thank you.

“There you go. One page out of a fuckin’ hundred. Do you get the picture?”

Kieran set the transcript down. “Thank you for sharing that with me, love. I don’t think that was easy for you.”

“Nah. But it’s been…bloody hell. Ten years. You never looked it up even once. You of all people should get to know.”

Jax finally stops pacing, settling down on the sofa next to his partner. Kieran holds still, letting him lean close.

“Izzy’s probably read it all five times over, anyway,” Jax adds, and Kieran surprises himself by being able to smile.

Jury update, n°2:

That whole thing about Curry having dinner with Depp really did not go very well with the jury, imho.

There is a common fallacy in logic that's called ad hominem. It literally means attacking the person. Not a very good strategy and the jury did not seem to care they did not take a single note about the dinner between Curry and depp

When Elaine started down the path of the dinner dr. Curry, j.d. turns to her and stares her down from his chair. He has a smirk on his face. number 9 just simply stares blankly forward not at the witness or at Elaine

10 minutes into the cross-examination of curry , the jury is still very attentive but has taken zero notes as far as I can see

When Elaine started asking a question and mid-sentence audibly said "nvm, I am not going to ask that," number two is seen visibly looking down hiding a laughing face as best as he can. I've noticed a pattern with him that he likes to laugh when something goofy happens in court

When Elaine brought up words like avoiding a conflict of interest and ethics not a single juror was taking notes. Compared to when those same words were brought up on Direct the jurors were taking Furious notes

The jury appears to look at Curry more during redirect examination than on cross

As soon as j.d. gets called to the stand your whole room is moving and won't stop. For obvious reasons

When j.d. testifies that he learned about the Waldman statement when he learned about the counterclaim, number two has an impressive look on his face and everyone is writing stuff down

When JD testifies that when Amber said she did not have any assistance on getting the AM role, and he said it was not true that she did not do it without his help, number 2 rubs his eye. Meanwhile, Amber Heard exchanges very nervous & tense looks with Elaine. Appears displeased

When JD says that he personally knows w.b. and spoke to spoke to 3 top execs and after that Amber Heard got the role, number one is writing stuff down

When Johnny says "sorry that was extra" towards RB, on the stand number 9 is seen laughing

When Johnny testifies that he never took 8 to 10 pills of MDMA, everything single juror is writing stuff down

When JD testifies that there was no phone on the wall in the photo, Whitney clears her throat

When Johnny says "I miss it" talking about the missing tip of his finger, numbers 2, 8, and 9 chuckle

After rottenborn objects to something Johnny was saying and Johnny replies with "is that better?," number 6 nods challenging at RB. number 9 smirks

When Johnny addresses the Kate Moss testimony, number 6 confidently. Number 9 smirks. Number 8 smiles. Whitney shift uncomfortably in her seat

When Johnny says that Whitney had wine thrown in her face, she gets a note passed to her by the woman sitting next to her from that firm I mentioned earlier

By the way, 1 and 9 both have furrowed eyebrows for the entire time j.d. is up there testifying. Appear empathetic

When Johnny said that Amber would get a verbal with Whitney and would grab and push her number 8 is writing stuff down

When Johnny starts talking about the Mendel testimony all jurors are scribbling stuff down

Finally what you've all been waiting for: when JD is asked what it's been like listening to testimony throughout this case and he says the accusations have been insane. Number 1 7 8 & 9 appear visibly sympathetic as he uses the several adjectives to describe how AH made him feel

When JD says "I never committed sexually battery or physical abuse" 1,2,3,5 and 8 are writing stuff down.

The finale: when JD says "no matter what happens, I did tell the truth" #8 nods.
