👀 (which by the way is a genuine reaction to your "I have so many things" tag-comment)
haaah there were. so many ideas. few of them coherent. x_X
this one i do actually want to finish at some point; it's corrie guard shenanigans, SOME of them trust that the jedi might be able to fix things so uh. they try. to maybe do that.
...kidnapping may or may not be involved.
---
Jek liked to think that he was a good soldier.
He wasn't the best--he would happily leave that to Commander Fox's batch and whatever tube glitch had resulted in Captain Rex--but he was decent. A solid middle. He got the job done, he worked hard, he didn't complain. (And not just because complaining on Coruscant could easily mean a recon.)
The point was, he didn't deserve to be put on trial for treason.
"It's only treason if it's against the Republic," Rys pointed out. "This is just standard treachery. That's prison time, at most."
"For natborns, maybe," Jek mourned. "Pretty sure if we fuck up they just send us back to Kamino for a refund."
"You are both following orders," Commander Thire gritted out, "So if anyone is brought up on charges, it will be me."
That made Jek feel a lot better, actually.
"Now shut up."
"Yessir," he and Rys chorused.
They marched crisply on either side of the heavily-laden hovercart, Thire in the lead as they made their way towards the entrance to the Jedi Temple. The loading bay was relatively busy this time of day, which is why Thire chose it, and they didn't expect too much scrutiny: clones came and went from the Temple all the time.
Not Guard clones, admittedly, but this was their city. Technically they had the right to go wherever they wanted.
A thought occurred to Jek then, flitting across his mind like one of those colorful flappy insects that Mack had tattooed on his arm.
"So, what do we do if General Yoda isn't here?"
Thire stumbled over his own feet.
Huh.
"You mean you haven't already thought about that?" Rys hissed. He laid a hand atop the largest crate--the most important crate--on the hovercart, fingers spread out protectively across the smooth durasteel. "What if they want us to leave it in his room? If he's out on a mission he could be gone for months--"
"We're fucked if he's gone for more than another two hours," Jek pointed out helpfully.
"I will figure it out," Thire snapped.
Two days into his new commission and he was already able to spew banthashit like the rest of the Commanders. Incredible.
"Are there even any other Jedi we could trust?" Jek asked. They'd met Master Yoda on the mission to Rugosa, so they knew he was a good person, but none of them really had experience with any of the other Jedi.
"Sinker said that General Koon is pretty good," Rys offered.
Thire snorted.
"General Koon actually likes Commander Wolffe. There's gotta be something wrong with him if he willingly puts up with that level of crazy."
"Maybe Kenobi? Commander Fox always bitches about Marshall Commander Cody going on about him."
Rys grimaced, shaking his head.
"He's Skywalker's master."
All three of them shuddered. Skywalker was friends with the Chancellor, and Commander Fox regularly came back from meetings with the Chancellor sporting mysterious injuries that somehow never got recorded on his medical file.
They all knew better to trust anyone that was on good terms with the Chancellor.
"What about General Windu?" Rhys suggested.
"What about me?"

Time for our breather episode, Common Ground
The scenery in this show is so damned good, the way I am instantly in love with Raxus and the gold tones.
Honestly this episode fits much better given what we see in Spoils of War/Ruins of War, emphasizing the humanity of the people in every system. TCW triedddd to do this with the 'heroes on both sides' but they really just kind of said it and then showed us like one lady that didn't suck in the entire show. She died immediately. So I appreciate these episodes.
Also I just love the Senator's droid she's hilarious to me.
Avi Singh is voiced by Alexander Siddig and it made me trust him immediately like all those people in the crowd cheering that is me hearing Julian Bashir's voice come out of this little animated man.
HOW can the scene of them just walking contain so many of my favorite character moments? Omega feeding Wrecker a piece of Mantell Mix, Tech steadying Omega when Hunter helps her off Wrecker's shoulder to make sure she doesn't fall over, her smiling up at him, this expression of UTTER DUBIOUSNESS and SUSPICIOUS SNIFFING from Echo
Tumblr media
I headcanon that Echo has hella digestive problems after a large portion of them was replaced by technology so every food must pass this sniff test and 90% of them do NOT but especially not whatever sugary concoction goes on this space popcorn.
I do NOT get why people thought for so long that we don't see Tech caring for Omega because every time she stumbles Tech is right there to steady her, he takes such good care of Omega oh my god. Sometimes love is making sure your baby sister never ever falls over!
Which he also does when she gets on a chair and he is right there like JUST IN CASE.
Tumblr media
Adolescents often exhibit lack of balance as they grow best to be within two inches of her at all times in case she wobbles.
GRANDMA CRIMES WILL BABYSIT DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. DON'T TRUST HER BUT SHE'LL TOTALLY DO IT.
I do think it's very funny that the one time Hunter successfully keeps her out of a mission by leaving her on another planet, she immediately becomes central to a gambling ring.
I want a count of how many times Echo complained about this job while Tech is just YOU KNOW WHAT'S GREAT, EARNING MONEY TO EAT WITHOUT PUTTING IT ON CID'S TAB. And Wrecker is just excited to mark off a new system on his Visited Locations list.
"Now are you convinced?" "No >:[" Echo has very valid reasons to not be thrilled about this job but unfortunately separatist doesn't mean much anymore and also they're so cute when they're Grumby.
When you clean SO sadly that Cid comes over like STOP BEING A MOPE. Omega's really leaning into her early teens attitude with SOR-RY.
Tumblr media
ANGY.
Bolo and Ketch's DISAPPOINTED HEAD SHAKING is so fucking funny. You UPSET the CHILD Cid. Go fix it. Like they weren't taking bets on her fucking up her bow training earlier.
I know Hunter's mentioning Omega is supposed to be Feelsy a little but I do admit it misses a little bit because it's not like she's missing or anything. I do wish they had done something like this with Crosshair early on, like in Rampage when he orders Echo to be eyes in the sky, switch it to him saying Crosshair's name instead and then correcting.
THIS ANTIQUE VASE IS PRICELESS, BE CAREFUL :C I love herrrrrr
You know the senator is in real trouble because they took his hat.
AND BEHOLD! I HAVE SAVED YOUR MOST PRIZED VASE :D
Quite a bit of time is spent on Grand Theft Walker in this episode. Also I'm glad they're using stun bolts but oh boy is it concerning to stun a bunch of clone troopers in the same area where walkers are fighting, this is such a way to get squished.
As always I'm a big fan of Tech getting Punchy I love that he's not at all a docile nerd.
Echo stepping forward to encourage Avi to leave because he can't help his people in custody is sweet but would have been slightly better if we got a little more one on one interaction between the two of them. Even just one solid scene would be good.
I'll give the batch one thing, their success/failure rate is slightly better than I remembered, they are up to 3 successes and only 1 major failure
Frankly they should stop doing merc work though and just let Omega gamble her way through the galaxy.
SHOW A LITTLE GRATITUDE TO MY FRIEND. Cid is officially Affectionate towards this small child.
Another good character moment is Wrecker giving Hunter an EXTREMELY SERIOUS *TALK TO THE CHILD* LOOK
Really the main plot of this episode is a good breather but it really shines in tiny moments that make me Squeal a little. Just those little character interactions that I ADORE.

I love the fanon relationships between the clones and their Jedi be it platonic, familial, or romantic, but we don't talk enough about the clones Yoda has relationships with. Episode 1 of the Clone Wars he's on a diplomatic mission with Rys, Jek, and Thire. In fact, Jek is there on Kashyyk during Order 66 and is killed by Yoda, but before that they must have known each other well.
"Jek is wearing mottled armor and listening to his comlink. He reacts with disbelief and regret, but must obey." - Quote by Jason Fry on Jek receiving Order 66, found this on wookipedia.
Anyway headcanon that Jek gets all the Yoda missions. He's in the Guard, now he's a Ranger, he moves units, but somehow there's Yoda.
Tumblr media
Think of the stories. Cody and Rex complaining about Obi-Wan and Anakin at 79's and suddenly a clone in red leeeans forward and gives them a long stare.
"Pathetic."
"Wha-?"
Although after a few drinks it's: "If anything happens to that little green guy I'll kill everyone in this room and myself."
"Time for some blue milk trooper I think you've had enough..."

Koh-to-yah!
My name is Master Ryn Tass, Jedi of the Order and General of the Grand Army of the Republic.
All who know me would call me a bit... well unconventional in the teachings of the Order. The Force is far more complex than we like to claim and although the Order has pure intent, I feel we have lost our way.
I was reluctant to join the war and still do not feel it is in our nature to be soldiers while talking of peace, but I try to make the best of a bad situation. My clones are my equals, my goal to see as many of them to the end of the bloodshed. Most of those in my battalion were those left behind, abandoned by their previous superiors or those put up for decommissioning from injury or temperment issue. All are welcome as this is a battalion of second chances.
Feel free to send me a question or introduce yourself! I am always happy to meet a fellow Jedi or talk to (or adopt) troopers.
(This is an 18+ blog so minors do not interact. This is also a SFW space so any interactions mentioning something I am not comfortable with will not be answered.)

the fruit of war | chapter two
AO3 Link | 3,200 words | Chapter 1, Chapter 3
Story Summary: The Clone Wars have begun. Riyo Chuchi is less than a year into her role as Senator for Pantora when the Coruscant Guard arrives and the war upheaves everything she knew. In a changing galaxy, Riyo strives to find her place in a deteriorating Senate as the men of the Coruscant Guard try to fill a role they were not prepared to take up.
“But what if a giant lizard thing attacks the Senate.”
“Uhhhh.” Thorn drummed his fingers against the floor. “That would still be covered by Contingency Aurek.”
“I don’t think sheltering in place is gonna pass muster.”
“Contingency Besh, and we’ll make sure the bunkers are… giant lizard proof.”
Thire nodded.
The two men lay on the floor underneath Thorn’s desk. Thirty minutes ago, Stone had passed them each a small white pill, ‘for the pain’, ten minutes after that the delirium had been too much to remain seated.
“Where are we gonna find a giant lizard?” Thire mused.
“Huh.” Thorn tried to wrack his mind of every reptile he had ever heard of. “If we go to Tatooine…”
Thire broke out in what could only be described as a fit of giggles, Thorn following soon after, rolling on his side to clutch his stomach as he laughed through the twinge of pain. They laughed until they were gasping for air, clutching their sides as they tried to heave fresh breaths into their lungs.
The moment they had composed themselves, the door slid open and Fox poked his head inside the office. “Are you okay?”
And Thorn couldn’t stop the laughter from rising back up, couldn’t hold back as Thire began to hiccup, tears of mirth rolling down his face.
Fox closed the door without another word.
-
“What did you give them?” Fox asked, stopping beside Stone in the main office.
“You don’t want to know.” Stone looked down with a smile playing at his lips. “The high will wear off in about an hour, but it should keep the worst of the pain at bay for a while.”
“I haven’t heard Thorn laugh like that in years.”
Stone glanced up to meet Fox’s gaze. “This is a fresh start. For all of us.”
From behind the closed office door, Fox could hear a new round of laughter start up and he couldn’t keep the smile off his face at the carefree sound. A fresh start.
He looked around the office at the men. They had managed to complete the set-up of the terminals and avoid Stone’s wrath concerning any loose cables. Now their duties would begin. He, Stone, and Thorn had spent the entirety of the last afternoon splitting the men by where their strengths lay. As requested, Sergeant Bravo had been assigned under Stone, as had the two troublemakers of Thire’s batchmates. Jek and Rys, who had remained at Thire’s side the last twenty-four hours, all but carrying him. They had been hesitant to break the batchmates apart, but the two had been among the few men with complete shock trooper training as would befit the riot squad Stone was to assemble. As Thorn had requested, Lieutenant Thire had been assigned to him, his second-in-command in all but title. Now, with the echoes of laughter, Fox felt a sense of relief for his most injured men.
“Commander Fox.”
Fox turned to face the brother who had approached him. “Lieutenant Kilo.”
“Sir, I have four squads ready for patrol, but I’m afraid we have do not have an established route.”
“Right.” Fox nearly glanced over to Stone, but Kilo was his lieutenant. Fox and Stone had decided that Fox would be the one to oversee general patrols across the planet, while Stone’s men would take the prison and specific high-risk areas. “Take a crime map and pull Sergeant Bravo aside. Pick a few areas of moderate crime and start your men there. Bravo will arrange for further patrols in the worst sections starting next week.” Stone’s men would have completed basic shield training by then.
“Yes, sir!” Kilo bounced with a salute before rushing off to where Bravo was nestled in the far corner of the room.
“We need to train them out of that.” Stone murmured.
“You don’t want to be saluted a hundred times a day?”
“Oh, we can pretend in front of the senators.” Stone turned around, leaning back against the desk as he crossed his arms. “But here, I want this to be equal ground. We all walked out of Geonosis together. We may walk out of worse before the war ends.”
“Like a giant lizard thing?”
Stone blinked rapidly as he processed Fox’s words. “A what?”
-
Riyo clutched her datapad to her chest as she made her way through the halls of the Senate. Where they had once been fairly empty, they now bustled with clones. A few small patrols walking leisurely through the halls, larger ones walking with purpose for tasks assigned elsewhere.
She paused to let one such patrol leave the Coruscant Guard office, inclining her head at the few muffled ma’ams and senator as they passed. When it was clear, she took a deep breath and stepped inside.
The room bustled with men with identical faces, many sets of eyes darting up as she entered. The smell of caf and blasterfire filled the air.
“Can I help you, Senator?” The man she had seen yesterday with the cast asked, pushing his chair out from behind the monitor he had been seated at. He looked younger than the commanders, though his hair was cut to the same length as the commander she had determined to be their leader.
“I’m looking for Commander Thorn. I have an enquiry about his security briefing.”
The briefing had been sent out as she was eating lunch in her office. She had skimmed it for the most part before she stopped with a frown and checked the message signature for the name of the clone who had sent it.
“Of course, ma’am. He’s in Commander Fox’s office at the moment.” The clone turned to point at the end of the room. “That one in the middle.”
“Thank you.” She paused, mulling her question over. “What is your name?”
“Sergeant Bravo, ma’am.”
“Thank you, Sergeant Bravo.” She mustered a small smile before she turned to walk down the center aisle. Any prying eyes turned back to their monitors as she walked past them, to the door at the end of the room.
A light knock on the door was answered with a “come in” and she stepped inside.
Two of the three men she had seen the previous afternoon were there. The man with the tired eyes was there, seated behind the desk, as was the man with the close-cropped hair. Riyo made a quick assumption and turned towards him, taking note of his slumped posture and hand resting across his stomach. “You want to see me, Commander Thorn?”
His chin raised slightly as he took her in. “Did I, Senator Chuchi?” Even seated and injured, the command in his voice made her take in a steadying breath as she reviewed the words she had practiced in halls.
“Yes. You made a mistake in my security briefing. You referred to Contingency Theta, which is not applicable to the Senate, in your evacuation under Contingency Osk. Given the precision of the rest of the briefing, I assume that you wanted to see if I or any other senator was reading the briefing in detail. Which I believe I have proven that I did.”
Commander Thorn smirked and brought up the briefing on his datapad. She watched him scroll down to the aforementioned mistake and change the lettering. “You are correct, Senator. All in-Senate security protocols are named in Aurebesh. Thank you for doing your due diligence. You come behind only Senators Amidala and Organa.”
The datapad in Riyo’s hand chimed as it received the updated briefing.
Commander Thorn leaned back in his chair, the smirk still on his face, and gestured to the man sitting behind him. “This is Marshal Commander Fox, my commanding officer and little brother.”
Commander Fox’s head dipped in acknowledgment. “Senator Chuchi.” That weariness still hung around him, lacing his words with exhaustion. He didn’t look younger than Commander Thorn, his shoulders already slumped with the weight of duty.
“So,” Riyo turned as a new voice entered the room to see the commander with the kind eyes leaning in the doorway. “That’s three senators out of…?”
“Two thousand, five hundred and sixty-two currently on Coruscant.” Commander Thorn answered. “I haven’t tallied those off-world yet.”
“What, are you counting by hand?” The clone stepped into the room, holding out a hand. “Commander Stone.”
“Senator Chuchi.” She gripped his hand, giving it a solid shake. “You recognized Senator Amidala yesterday.”
Commander Stone nodded. “I met her on Geonosis. Unlike these two, I didn’t barricade myself in the medical tents.”
She gave him a small smile and glanced back at Commander Thorn and Commander Fox. “Thank you, for your time.”
-
Stone waited for the senator to exit the Coruscant Guard offices before turning to Thorn and Fox. “She’s beautiful.”
“You’ve only met like five females.” Thorn scoffed. “Anyone is a sight for sore eyes after looking in a mirror our whole lives.”
Stone raised a brow and turned to Fox. “And what do you think?”
“I don’t have any opinions on the senators’ appearances.”
“But if you did?” Thorn asked, his eyes flashing with challenge. As Stone had promised, the high had fallen within the first hour, leaving Thorn in good spirits at the drug-dulled ache in his side.
“She has a very symmetrical face.”
The two men waited for Fox to continue, Thorn frowning when he didn’t. “That’s it?”
“What do you want me to say, Thorn?”
“I don’t know. Something insightful. You’re supposed to be clever, Fox. Spin us some poetry about a female’s bosom.”
Fox groaned as Stone laughed.
“Like you’ve seen a ‘bosom’ before.” Fox retorted, causing Stone to throw his head back.
“It’s on my list.” Thorn shot back. “Come on, don’t pretend you’re not curious.”
“Curious about what?” Fox asked indignantly.
“Everything.” Thorn’s eyes lit up. “Fox, there’s a galaxy of beings out there that don’t look like us. Don’t you want to see them?”
“You two are going to get yourselves in trouble.” Fox said in return, glancing between Thorn and Stone. “Are you going to go peeking in windows or something?”
“Oh Fox,” Stone said, laughter still shaking his shoulders. “Why go through all the trouble when you can just ask?”
Fox groaned again, bringing laughter from both of his commanders. “And where, pray tell, will you be asking?”
Stone gestured out to the city. “I hear there’s a push to start a clone bar. Perhaps it might draw another crowd as well.”
Fox’s brows drew together. “You want to drink?”
Now it was Thorn and Stone’s turn to share a glance before Stone answered. “Never tried it before. The Kaminii made it sound fun."
Fox swore under his breath, running a hand through his hair.
“I heard from Thire,” Thorn said warily. “Who heard it from Jek, who heard it from Rys, who heard it from another trooper, that one of the bars has been approached to fill that niche while the clone bar is constructed. They’re supposed to start tonight.”
“We have no credits.” Fox protested.
“That’s why there’d be a clone bar. It’s the Republic’s dime.” Thorn rubbed his fingers together. “Aren’t you curious?”
“No. Absolutely not.”
-
Fox didn’t know how it had happened. One moment he had been at his desk, watching the men leave for the night. The next moment he had been thrown in the back seat of a speeder, Stone at the wheel and Thorn leaning back in the passenger seat, letting the evening breeze run across his bare face. Before he could protest, before he could even speak a word of objection, he’d found himself seated in the corner table of a dim room with Stone pressing a drink into his hand.
“What is this?” Fox asked, taking a sniff of the liquid inside.
“I don’t know.” Stone said as he and Thorn took a seat opposite Fox. “We asked what the rest of the men liked so far.”
Fox groaned as Stone and Thorn raised their glasses.
“Cheers.” Thorn offered.
Fox brought his glass up to touch theirs before bringing it to his mouth, taking a small sip. His nose crinkled as his throat burned, the sensation running down his mouth down into his stomach. He ran his tongue along the palate of his mouth to clear the sensation. Across the table, Stone’s face was drawn into a look of interest while Thorn’s was relaxed as he took another sip of the dark drink.
“The men like this?”
“There’s a few others drinks the bartender said they liked. She said she’ll bring us some more to try when these are done.” Stone said.
Fox felt his brows shoot up. “That’s six females then.”
Stone laughed, looking around the room. “Oh there’s more than one female here.”
“Do I have to sit here while you two do your asking?”
Thorn shook his head. The drink in his hand was nearly half gone. “Not tonight. Tonight is for us.”
Fox observed the room as he slowly sipped at the burning liquid in the cup. Nearly half the bar was composed of his men, a few nervously glancing over to their table. The other half was composed of beings he had only seen images and illustrations of, some obviously male and female, others less so, the bright colors of their skin, scales, fur, bodies filling the space. How plain the clones were in comparison to the citizens of the Republic.
Fox didn’t realize he had finished his drink, not until a teal twi’lek approached them, setting down fresh glasses full of color as she took their empty ones.
“What did you think?” She asked, looking between the three men.
Thorn gave her a thumbs up as Stone answered. “It seems to be an acquired taste.”
She laughed, draping her hand across Stone’s shoulder. “These are much sweeter. Many females enjoy them, but I know some males do, even if they prefer to not admit it.”
Fox made an effort to stare at her face. It was an effort, with her breasts leaning over the table, peeking out from her shirt, if it could be called a shirt. Perhaps Thorn’s curiosity was not misplaced. Her skin looked to be soft, and for the first time Fox was very aware of how rough his hands were beneath his gloves.
“Enjoy.” She said as she slid her hand off Stone’s shoulder, sauntering back to the bar.
Fox couldn’t help the gaze that slid down her waist to her hips as she walked off. When he looked back to his commanders, he found looks of curiosity on their faces that he was sure matched his own.
“I can see why twi’lek women are prized.” Stone said carefully.
Fox hummed his agreement as he reached for the purple drink she had set before him. For a moment, a pure shameful moment, he wondered if Senator Chuchi had a body like hers underneath her poncho. He regretted the thought the moment it entered his head, and he raised the glass to his lips to try to forget the image that flashed through his mind.
-
Thire weighed the pill in his hand as he thought. It was a prescription, he was supposed to take them, but after Stone’s mystery pill, the anti-inflammatory wouldn’t hold a candle against the flame in his back. He didn’t know what it was that Stone had slipped them before, only that it was the first thing since the IV on Geonosis that had held the pain at ease, even if it had left him and Thorn cackling on the floor for an hour.
Before he could think further, he took the pill, gulping it down with the flask of water at his bedside. He knew its effects would barely be felt, but it was better than nothing.
The sound of laughter echoed down the halls and Thire raised his head to see his commanding officers rounding the corner, swaying slightly on their feet.
Thorn’s face lit up at the sight of him and he slid from Fox and Stone’s arms to sit at the end of Thire’s bed. “When you can walk, you have to come drinking with us.”
Thire looked from Thorn to Fox and Stone, still swaying a little where they stood. “Is it… fun?” If it was anything like the delirium Stone’s pill had induced, he felt inclined to try it.
“Yes.” Thorn answered decisively. “And the women,” he raised his hands to shake them like the cooks had done on Kamino, “they were all over Stone.”
Stone shot Thorn a bashful look but didn’t deny it.
“I’ll let you know, Commander.” Thire said, allowing a smile to play at his lips. He was very quickly becoming fond of Thorn. There had been a few times today where he had almost slipped up, almost called him by his name. That was the effect Thorn had, even through the pain of their injuries.
“Get some sleep.” Thorn said, reaching over to give him a pat on the leg. “We’re forming the escort protocols tomorrow.”
“If you can make it to the Senate in the morning.” Thire shot back without thinking. For a moment he felt a twinge of worry at his insubordination. Then Thorn laughed, throwing his head back.
“There may be a delayed start.” Thorn admitted, rising from the bed to take his place by Fox and Stone. “But we’ll get there.”
Thire watched them as they walked the short distance to their room. The privilege of the commanders was a private room with a private washroom, separate from the men. Thire had pondered that the previous night, what it was like to have one’s own space. How foreign the concept when he had always shared with his batchmates. He didn’t know if he could sleep without the sound of Rys’ soft snores, always the first to go to bed. Though his batch was thinner in rank than they had been before Geonosis, the once thirty-two down to the eighteen men sleeping around him. All but Jek and Rys now assigned to Commander Thorn. He wondered if he would reclaim leadership of the remainder of the platoon if he recovered. He wondered if he wanted that leadership. He had led them on Geonosis and nearly half the men had been lost to that battle. In the medical tents he had heard of men who had lost their entire platoon, but also those who had scraped through with few losses. But those had been the platoons who had not been sent towards the Lucrehulks, who had not been met with the fall out of their devastation.
But Thorn, Thorn who had been far away from the Lucrehulk cores had lost his entire squad of ARC troopers. There was not a spot on the battlefield that had been spared.
As he listened to Rys’ soft snores, Thire wondered if he could have survived the loss of his men as Thorn had or if he would have accepted death alongside them. He hoped that he would never find out which of the two was preferrable.

okay dee here is my question for the corrie guard. whose love language is physical touch bc I WISH TO HUG
OKAY NOEL i love this so so much and got over-involved in my thoughts, so i’m going to talk about ALL THE CORRIES’ LOVE LANGUAGES starting with physical touch 🥰 i gotta shout out @jangofettswife for coming up with a lot of these ocs and generously allowing me to contribute to their details. we ironed out theirs and the commander personalities together, so again, a lot of credit goes to her 💞
additionally, these are not singular love language, just the ones i thought of immediately for them! i think they’re all a mix depending on the situation 💞 but some of these boys totally stick out as physical touch guys, etc etc
corrie guard and their love languages:
physical touch
thorn. he’s not the best at expressing his emotions verbally, but you know when he wraps you in a long hug, chin tucked into your shoulder, or holds your hand so tightly you can see the strain in the muscles of his arm, he needs you. alternatively, when you’re crying or shaking from panic, he gives the best fucking hugs.
stitch (oc). stitch is a medic and the best friend of patch - though they’re not batch mates, they bonded on the transport to coruscant and even gave each other their names. he suffers from severe anxiety, and so the best way to help calm him is a good, firm, long-lasting hug. he also suffers from sleep-wrestling, which developed before the anxiety and is very strange. no one really knows what it’s about, but a hug also helps put a stop to that - patch and grenade are kind of experts in this. i also pin stitch as having a hot, nautolan doctor gf named neema, who’s 6’3” and always ready to hold him. but she’ll always take volunteers to help give him love, after all, she and stitch noticed you across the bar and really love your vibe-
jek. he’s a man who likes the little things, like cozy nights in, warm mugs of caf, and the ones he loves safe in his arms, or pinky-to-pinky as you discuss difficult topics. jek is a lover forced to be a fighter, and he would much rather hold you through a stormy night than be patrolling during it. he’s one of those guys that never wants to let go of your hand, fingers entwined, stretching over barriers that come between you so that your fingers brush just so he can still touch you. it’s grounding for him.
cannon (oc). a loose cannon so to speak, cannon is rough and tumble and ready to go. he and hook have an affectionate mentor-mentee relationship. cannon’s just barely out of shiny status, and often thinks he needs to be brave and strong constantly. but hook knows sometimes his little brother just needs a bracing hand on his shoulder, or a keldabe kiss that says “i’m proud of you, vod”. if you’re with cannon, and you start playing with his hair, or squeeze his hand when he can’t seem to slow down, well, he’s not going to want to leave your side.
acts of service
fox. man, he’s the king of taking care of others’ needs, but he’ll lose his mind if you take care of his. doing basic tasks to help him through his day, like organizing files or updating his calendar, means the fucking world to him. it just takes the intense stress he has and lessens it, and that’s the greatest thing a person can do for him. thorn and stone in particular are experts at helping fox feel taken care of, though he’s loathe to admit it.
lot (oc). oh my beloved lot. he’s just a giver, man, and he’s gonna help you in any way he can. he feels most fulfilled when he’s helping others - he’s been all but forbidden from patrols bc he ends up helping out at the local community garden for four hours, just having the time of his life. for this reason, if you do something special for him, like helping to paint his armor or teaching him something important to you, he just melts for you. he can’t help it.
blast (oc). blast often gets assigned to dangerous missions because 1. he volunteers and 2. he’s really, really good at them. he’s ready with a cocky smile and a quick quip before he’s heading into the fray, locked and loaded and giving out orders as well as any commander. bc he takes on too much, acts of service mean a lot to him - so when thorn or ace take over a task that needs doing that blast hasn’t gotten to, well, let’s just say he’s really thankful. if you make his day a little easier by helping him plan it out or cleaning up his space after a busy mission, he’s sure to make it up to you tenfold. trust me, he’ll be very thankful.
fang (oc). oh, fang, our little shit, our beloved edge lord arf trooper. fang is someone who loves to project an image of badassery, of tough guy, no-nonsense - oh my god, hound, you have to kill that spider, please, please hound kill the spider please please please-. yeah, fang’s a bit of a wimp, but grows more courageous over time. still, he tends to avoid the more frightening aspects of his job, and when his brothers or hound cover for him it really means so much. when you kill the spider, however? expect him to go on a long rant about how brave and strong and deadly his partner is, right before showering you in kisses.
words of affirmation
thire. our beloved lieutenant-turned-commander is a huge fan of words of affirmation. he kinda lives on praise, and enjoys giving it - i hc that he really looks up to fox, so the occasional “you did good” from fox has thire all but teary-eyed. he regularly compliments jek and rys on areas they excel at, or have improved at, bc he thinks it’s really important that they know he’s paying attention and cares enough to give that feedback. thire will very seriously and carefully tell you all the things he loves about you, and his dream is to have you do the same for him, although he’s a little embarrassed to admit that. i have a crap ton of nsfw hcs on this very subject…another time, perhaps.
blaze (oc). blaze my beloved! twin brother of grenade and riot trooper, blaze is pretty similar to his ornery chief medic brother. he’s a gruff man of few words that he uses sparingly, but he’ll speak freely to the ones he loves. he and grenade will take time out of their busy schedules to com and catch up, always telling each other how proud they are of the other, in their own way. there’s a bit of fear of losing each other there, so they’re committed to reminding each other that they care. blaze’s boyfriend, arlo, loves to heap him with generous praise - and you can join in on the fun, too, if you want to watch blaze get all flustered and cute in a way he’d rather die than have his men see.
grenade (oc). we’ve already talked about his and blaze’s exchanges, but grenade also finds it important to dole out gentle if firm words of affirmation to his right-hand men, stitch and patch, as well as his patients. grenade believes firmly in tough love, but not cruel tough love - just honesty and criticism where necessary, and lots of praise where it’s deserved. troopers who make it through tough injuries are regarded as heroes by grenade, who sees a lot and knows how hard recovery can be. he tells them as much proudly. if you’re with grenade, and you tell him he’s a hero to you? well, expect him to deflect and point out all the amazing things about you - but it means a lot to him, really.
ace (oc). oh ace. a beloved oc guard who just. falls in love with everyone he’s ever met. he’s a hopeless romantic who can’t commit, but the sure fire way to get his attention is honeyed compliments - boy will swoon. he works under thorn, so he’s used to huge and warm handshakes, meaning flirty touches don’t work quite as well. but you look him in the eye and tell him you find him fascinating? yeah you’re going home together. ace is something of a poet, regaling his brothers with grand tales of their own bravery, exaggerating for effect, and to make them laugh. he’ll regale you with such tales, and then make you squirm with the sincere way he compliments your looks, your voice, your dreamy personality. watch out for this one; he’s a heartbreaker. but he doesn’t mean to be! honest!
quality time
hound. *quality time with him and grizzer. truly, hound just likes being around his loved ones. time is limited, especially in his life, and he wants to use that time up with the people he cares about. i see him as very much the mom friend, checking in on both the commanders and the guards, shinies especially, friendly, loving massifs in tow. he likes getting to watch his brothers relax as they play with or pet the dogs, knowing he made a difference. sitting in silence together, just reading or eating, is truly the most wonderful thing to him. runor is a great partner in the way they provide this regularly, both at work and outside of it. if you want to be with hound, he’ll fall for you the moment you suggest going to the park to watch the sunset. now that is his idea of a perfect date.
rys. my man loves experiences, and he wants to share them with you! he wants to explore every inch of coruscant, and every planet in the galaxy once he’s finished that, and he wants you at his side, marveling at every new thing to try. jek will often patiently go along with his brother, trying new things to indulge him and volunteering for interesting tasks together. it’s times like these rys gets really comfortable, and will likely teach you about himself by doing things that matter to him together. he’s a cutie, who just wants to experience all life has to offer with those he cares about.
patch (oc). similar to hound, patch enjoys sitting in silence, but for different reasons. patch’s problem is his mouth: he can never convince it to shut up, even when he wants to. oftentimes he doesn’t want to, but sometimes he wishes he wouldn’t be so stubborn. getting to just sit by stitch or grenade or even his beloved scrap metal protocol droid helps calm and ground him, and the fact that they all have the patience to let him calm himself into silence and just sit means a lot. if you have the patience for that, hand in hand as you listen to music, well, he’s gonna make the effort to be less stubborn for you, that’s for sure.
receiving gifts
stone. he wants a sugar mama/daddy, it’s absolutely the truth idc idc. stone my beloved LOVES indulging in fancy gifts, and so decadence like chocolates and jewelry is fun and means a lot to him. but small gifts, like extra food from the mess or a fresh coat of paint for his armor, absolutely warm his heart, and when his men present them to him randomly, he does get a little emo let’s be real. eventually, after the war, hound and runor give stone a massif puppy and he does in fact cry. a lot. any gifts you give him he’ll react sincerely and strongly to, and he’s a bit of a hoarder of things he’s received from other people…within reason. he loves you but he’s not keeping that ticket stub, sorry. best possible gifts include favorite snacks, good socks, and weed and a nice bowl to smoke it in
hook (oc). HOOK!!!!! god i love this captain so much. he works under stone, and learned the taste of luxury from his commander. also, he works a lot with civilians and gets a decent amount of baked goods so he sort of just…starts to love gift getting and gift giving lajskdkf. stone and hook get along famously bc of their shared sense of humor and appreciation of gifts, and try to get nice things for each other on occasion, like the aforementioned meals and paint. his boyfriend is a MASTER baker, and that is half the reason hook falls for him. he learns how to bake just to return the favor, and yes it’s very cute. if you present this man a cookie, he’s going to flirt intensely with you, and if you keep giving him sweets, you’re going to have a new boyfriend pretty soon. hook is easily swayed by good food, okay?
nomad (oc). the cynical, sarcastic arf trooper, constantly ready to end his annoying brother fang’s life. he’s hard to pick out gifts for, but if you put your heart into it, and seek out something you really feel is meaningful, he’ll be secretly very moved. he pretends otherwise but then he’ll present you with something equally meaningful, and you know you got him right in the heart. whenever he and fang have a bad fight, fang knows it’s okay again when nomad presents a thoughtful peace offering. hound, who loves his boys but wants to throttle them, tries to be attentive to both their love languages - but killing spiders is admittedly easier than finding gifts to nomad’s tastes.
dogma. my beloved honorary corrie is a sentimental man, i think. unlike stone and hook, he’s very much a “it’s the thought that counts” guy - meaning he does keep the receipt with the flower you doodled on it and gave to him. he finds gifts with thought to be wonderfully generous and loves that you think of him when he’s not around, so the scarf in corrie guard red that reminded you of him or the datapad screen protector you had an extra of to give him really do make him happy. he has a whole extra shelf made of scrap metal in his locker just for gifts you gave him. and when his brothers give him gifts? forget about it. that’s all he talks about for days. tangible shows of love mean a lot to sweet dogma.
ask me about the corries! oc or otherwise

Ok ok I’m not expecting to see like every clone trooper/commander (except Rex, Cody and even Wolffe, they have to show us them for obvious reasons) we left behind in the The Bad Batch.... BUT:
What if we get to see like Dogma on Kamino (or prison, where the hell is he anyway)???
What if they give us a tiny little scene with Commander Bly???? I would legitimately cry.
What if they show us how Boil is doing after Waxer’s death!??!? Or him reuniting with Numa I’m sobbing already 😭
What if we get to salute again our fave dad deserter Cut Lawquane!?
What if Commander Fox gets to be alive and still in command of the Coruscant Guard?!? Or we get a Thire, Jek and Rys comeback!?
I don’t know if the novel about Kix being frozen in carbonite and becoming a pirate is canon, but if it isn’t and Kix is still alive.... uhm we cannot sleep on that.
This is stressing me out, this right here. It’s not just fan service to me. These men lives have been completely torn apart, their individuality erased, their bodies used, and I would be immensely grateful to get a peek at how they’re holding on after Order 66 and the rise of the Empire. Would be hella interesting at least to me...
