A Wolfstar one-shot written for @remuslupinfest 2024.

Prompt: Remus Lupin's gramophone.

It is the Marauders final year at Hogwarts and the Graduation Ball is fast approaching. But Remus doesn't know how to dance. Luckily, he has just the friend to show him.

Snippet:

Sirius gave a slight nod and said nothing, looking away from Remus’ face and considering something deeply. Instinctively Sirius drew closer, his arms around Remus’ shoulders closing the very little gap that still remained between them. Remus’ chest was against Sirius’ chest. Sirius had moved, and as though it was the most natural thing in the world, rested his head very softly against Remus’ shoulder. Remus didn’t know what to do, how to react. Was this all part of the lesson, too? If it was then it was unexpected and perhaps a little awkward. It felt a little different. Remus wasn’t sure what to make of it. Still, it didn’t seem to stop him from snaking his hands gently around Sirius’ back and holding him cautiously against him.

So thrilled to be able to finally reveal this fic as mine. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Hello everyone! Thank you to all of you who have continued to read my work over February. It has been a little bit of a slower month for me in terms of microfics, but I really have appreciated everyone's support for the work I have created.

Here is an update about what's coming up in March:

More microfics created for @wolfstarmicrofic and other prompts. I will continue to work through posting these to a03.

Weekly posting will continue for Patient Potions Master. This is over halfway posted now and Wolfstar hinted will soon feature in the story more explicitly.

My fic for @remuslupinfest has been submitted to the mods and anonymous posting begins on 10th March. This is the major event for me this month and I hope you all enjoy what I created.

The Wolfstar mega fic Without You I'm Nothing edits continue. I have no firm release schedule for this yet but given my other commitments this is likely to start posting in May.

I have quite a busy month in March ahead of me with work on my dissertation so please bear with me if things slow down a little. Thank you for welcoming me back after such a long hiatus. I hope my brand of Wolfstar tenderness continues to find a place in your heart 💜

Have a snippet from the end of a chapter from Without You I'm Nothing.

"I never noticed," Sirius said, his voice low and dark in the dim light of the cupboard. Remus fought the memory that was drifting through his mind, and he attempted to suppress the thoughts of the time when Sirius' hand had found his waist. Sirius' eyes were fixed on Remus' face; his fingers exploring, memorising. The lids of Remus' eyes felt heavy. All of a sudden Remus felt claustrophobic in such a tiny space. His voice was soft and swollen, a shudder clearly hidden behind the words, as he said, rather bitterly, "You never would."

Sirius' hand dropped, and he turned as though embarrassed. Remus snatched the jumper from Sirius' hand and pulled it over his head, thankful that he no longer felt so naked in the presence of his friend. He bent down to retrieve his robes from where he had discarded them on the floor, and, as he turned to face Sirius, he could clearly see the hurt in his friend's face. "Some scars aren't on the outside, Moony." Remus said nothing, and after Sirius whispered "Nox" and extinguished the light from his wand, Remus leant forward and opened the door.

Hello everyone! This month has flown by. Thank you so much to everyone who has engaged with my work over January. I notice and cherish every like and reblog. I value every mutual. I catch all of those who seem to be liking quicker than I can post.

Here is an update about what's coming up in February:

I will continue creating microfics for @wolfstarmicrofic. I have a bit of a back log to upload of these onto a03 but I'm making steady progress.

I will continue with the weekly posting schedule for Patient Potions Master. The edits for this are now complete. For those of you only here for Wolfstar, I will make it clear the chapter where this comes into play.

I have completed my first draft of my fic for @remuslupinfest. This is my first ever fic fest, and I'm very excited. This will be anonymous posting at first, but be sure to check out all the stories when they drop on a03.

I will continue editing my Wolfstar mega fic Without You I'm Nothing (snippet here for those curious).

I have a couple of ideas floating around my brain for Wolfstar oneshots longer than microfics. If there is time, I will begin work on these.

I've had a couple of questions about whether I will ever take prompts. I presently have quite a busy schedule for my writing. I also work and study which, unfortunately, takes time away from more fun things like creating Wolfstar fiction! I don't want to commit to accepting prompts that I worry I couldn't deliver. So it's a no for now but I would really like to in the future!

I hope my writing continues to find a little place in your heart 💜

"James and Lily deserve more than this..." was all that Remus could manage to say. Sirius laughed and shook his head, sending dark hair falling in front of his face. "You're not wrong there." As Sirius spoke he took a step away from the window. His face plummeted into shadow. Remus clenched his wand in his hand, ready to raise it. He didn't step back. "That's why I'm here. I won't let you betray them. I won't let you do this to Harry..."

Dreamless Sleep - sleep doesn't come easily to Sirius post Azkaban. But Remus is there to stay with him until he drifts off.

Here's what you can expect in April:

I will continue to create Wolfstar microfics. This month's theme for the @wolfstarmicrofic prompts are for AU, which is not for me. I will continue to write fics, however, based on what inspires me.

I have completed posting Patient Potions Master on a03.

No 3. Sleeping with ghosts sounds intriguing 🤍

This is the fic that resolves the slow burn and sexual tension that took 150k+ words and 17 narrative years to build.

This fic is split into two parts. The first part focuses on the last time Remus and Sirius see each other before the murders of the Potters. The second part is set post-GOF and is my take on "Lie Low at Lupin's". It alternates between Sirius' and Remus' POV.

It includes dark and mature themes but is full of love.

Rating: M/E (I'm not entirely sure yet but defo 18+)

Pairings: Wolfstar

Genre: Drama/Angst. Romance. Violence. Hurt/Comfort. Sex. Mature themes. Reconciliation. Healing.

Title: taken from and inspired by Sleeping with Ghosts by Placebo.

Synopsis: After years of tension, suspicion and betrayal two old friends come to realise that they've wasted too much time.

Snippet 1:

"You can't hurt me anymore, Sirius," Remus said, his voice breathless and bloodied. Sirius was livid, his eyes wide, his lip trembling as he applied, even more pressure, to Remus' chest. "There's nothing you can do to cause me anymore pain…" Yet as he had said this Remus' voice had suddenly caught in his throat; restricted by the lack of air and by something he had read in Sirius' eyes. All words of further warning failed him . He blinked and Sirius was still there, stationary, his mind processing the thought that Remus had glimpsed; his eyes unfathomable, his face now becoming unreadable as all was shrouded in emotion and dark. Eventually, Remus found his words returning; knowing that if he didn't speak now than it would be his last chance to try and stop what was about to happen. Yet the voice that broke the uneasy silence seemed like it was not his own, the words he spoke were clearly uncertain and infused with fear as he said, shaking "If you kiss me now, Sirius, I shall never forgive you."

Snippet 2:

If he had gotten up, if Sirius had not stopped him, by now the kettle on the stove would be whistling. They would both be dressed and discussing what they were to do in the fight against Voldemort. Only now that didn't seem to matter. For now, it seemed as if the whole world could wait. Sirius guided Remus' hand, and Remus found himself pushing away the hair to cup the warm curve of Sirius' neck. Had he imagined it, Remus wondered, perhaps a little too late, unable to stop they way his fingertips sought out the downy hairs at the back of Sirius' neck. Had he always wondered what this would be like, to be here, like this, with him? "You're thinking why," Sirius said, his voice a barely audible whisper. Outside Remus could hear that more cars were starting as the Muggles left for work. "Am I?" Remus asked, his voice no-way near as certain sounding as Sirius'. Sirius nodded. "Why here? Why now? Why like this?" Remus said nothing, clinging to the coolness of control, hoping it would be enough to help him see things clearly. To not make this a mistake. But Sirius smiled and Remus felt his stomach fall away. After remaining motionless for a long time Sirius moved and placed a hand gently on Remus' cheek. It was so different to touch than to be touched and Remus started at the heat of it, the intimacy of it, as he felt Sirius' rough hand caress his face. Remus fought the urge to incline towards Sirius' palm. But it was impossible. Sirius moved his fingers slowly, softly, tracing a scar that cut close to Remus' mouth. Remus couldn't think, only feel. All that mattered was the feeling of Sirius' hand, and the way his body was responding to Sirius' touch. "I once told you that some scars weren't on the outside," Sirius said. Remus remembered that conversation well. He felt Sirius' eyes searching, taking in every scar, every blemish, every line on Remus' face before Sirius lent a little closer and said, "I think we both understand that now."
