Okay this might be controversial but I do not believe anyone but Feanor and his sons have ANY claim to the Silmarils. This is coming from a person who’s family jewels have been stolen by colonizers and then sold on the market and when we asked for them back showing proof how it belonged to us, the buyer said no because, “I now own it since I paid for it from the money my daddy gave me”.
My family were landlords in feudal China. My great grandfather was a member of the Qing court and my family has done terrible things in history to those we viewed as “beneath us”. Yet the jewel that was an heirloom that got stolen when the eight nation alliance sacked Beijing still belonged to us. Not the person who stole it and then went on to sell it, and definitely not the person who bought it.
I remember when the sale of the necklace made the news and my grandmother broke down crying because she knew it. The same exact necklace sat upon the neck of the portrait of her grandfather in her house. My mother wrote to the new ‘owner’ asking if they’ll return it or if they’ll allow her to buy it off him since it belonged to us, and that person, who was Chinese as well, who knew also the pain of colonization, said no. All because in his eyes he paid for it through legitimate means therefore he owned it.
That piece of jewelry isn’t all that expensive bar the historical value of it since it was given to my ancestors by Qianlong but it was a religious piece as well as a sentimental one. It hold value do to its history not because of any value it holds as it was made from otherwise common materials. But still my family held to traditions, especially religious ones.
But if that piece of jewelry contained a piece of my ancestors soul within them I would definitely be more feral in my hatred towards those who kept it from us. There’s so few mementos left from my ancestors as we sold most of it to support the revolution in the early 20th century and the rest were lost during the middle of the century and those that we kept we coveted. But if any of the rest of the jade and gold I still hold were stolen from me and we’re known to contain a piece of my ancestors soul I would stop at nothing to get it back.
No one but Feanor and his direct descendants have ANY claim to the Silmarils. Just as no one but those who hold claim to stolen Jewish artworks hold any claim to them and none hold any claim to the stolen Buddhist statutes taken from my country but the temple the colonizers took it from. The kinslaying’s were objectively horrible. They were objectively wrong and the sons of Feanor should be punished because of their actions yet Varda had no right to judge who was more worthy of a gem she had no hand in creating. She had no right to declare that the Sins of Feanor were unholy and unworthy due to their deeds that came about due to her and her husbands unwillingness to do anything about her once suitor and his brother.
Thingol had no right in claiming the Silmarils as his own, Luthien stealing a stolen artifact does not make it hers by right. Just because the British stole the 12 zodiac heads does it make them there’s? Just because the person who now owns the dragon head bought it in an auction now ‘owns’ it because they paid out of pocket for it does it now make it there’s? Dior had no right to the jewel, nor did Elwing or Eärendil. The only argument you might make to make Elwings claim stronger is for the Silmaril to be a reparation for Doriath. But even then you have to weigh the cost that Doriath cost staying out of the war and the lives lost due to them raising the griddle and not aiding any of the Sindar that lived out of it.
Even if you believe that the Sons of Feanor had no right to the Silmarils than it should’ve gone to Feanors wife. The Valar had no right to declare any creation of the Children theirs. Havana’s two trees may have provided the light that was contained within the three jewels but would you consider the light that is caught in film the property of the sun? Can you claim that 静夜思-李白 (Quiet Night Thoughts - Li Bai) belongs to the moon goddess since she inspired his poem and her beauty is now held within his poem? Or that the Song of Songs belong to Solomon because it is also known as the Song of Solomon?
The Valar lost all ‘right’ they had to the gems Varda blessed when they decided that the Noldors rebellion hurt their pride and they would not do anything to aid them. And Thingol Dior and Luthein never had any right to them in the first place, just because you stole something that was stolen doesn’t make it yours(!!!!). The only one in that whole line that can claim any right to the gems are Elwing and even that is debatable due to how many people died due to Doriaths inactions.
It’s mainly white people I see defending that the gems no longer belong to Feanors kin and I don’t have to wonder about why that is. When most white people wouldn’t even admit to the fact that their museums would be empty without stolen Chinese artifacts or stolen artifacts. Most of the white people I see simping for Thingol and defending his actions and Diors actions and Beren’s actions have never had their homes ravaged by outside forces and have had their belongings stolen from them. They will never understand the hatred you’d feel when seeing your ancestors work displayed in glass when your family grieves because those should’ve been burned with them instead of being on display. The Silmarils do not belong to anyone but Feanors Kin and all of the Valar should literally die because they are egotistical assholes who only want to be worshipped and when they mess up they blame everyone but themselves.

getting caught between these two is akin to getting engulfed in a tsunami - childe being the wave that consumes your whole being, while zhongli is the moving earth plates; the catalyst that pushed the ginger to do so.
it was fine at first. childe’s curiosity makes him wave and calls out to you whenever he bumps into you in the harbor. he makes small talk, discovers something new about you, and leaves you with a smile.
only… after a few times, his questions start getting more and more personal, he starts to intrude on your personal space, and before long whenever you’re just walking down the street, if you feel arms snake around you from behind, you immediately know it’s childe.
zhongli does the same, although at times he would not be opposed to tagging along with you, surveying the market stalls and helping you do your errands. it’s very gentlemanly of him, and he’s always so ever helpful, so of course you would enjoy his company, of course you would willingly spend more time with him, to the point of inviting him over for tea, because you’ve got to repay the man somehow for never failing to help you with things, right?
yes, it’s all fine and dandy until one day, childe spots the two of your together, and it would have been fine if he hadn’t seen how the ex-archon kissed your hand as he excused himself.
and the worst part?
you were giggling, seemingly embarrassed by the gesture, and yet anyone can see that you liked it.
oh.
oh, the hunt’s on.
from thereon, childe treats you like a conquest: lavish gifts begin to flood your doorstep; from pieces of jewelry to exquisite chinas to bouquets of the freshest flowers. he laughs when you try to give them back, and for the first time, he tells you things like how you’re worth all the mora in the whole teyvat. that he just wants to make you happy because you’re important to him.
zhongli gives you a bouquet of flowers when you met him that day, and you sheepishly joke that you don’t have a vase to store them in, since the ones you have are currently housing all the flowers childe has been giving you these past few days.
hm? childe is giving you flowers now?
interesting.
the relationship between zhongli and childe is… up in the air, up until that point. they weren’t exactly friends, yet they were no strangers to each other. they’re not hostile to each other, yet they aren’t exactly the most amiable. their motives and goals differ from each other, and therefore when there are no reasons for them to mingle, they prefer to stay out of each other’s way.
but now, there’s you.
a tiny sprout that childe wishes to shelter and nurture all on his own. the finest gem zhongli wishes to possess and examine in detail. a fleeting butterfly that managed to mesmerize them with the elegant flutter and the intricate patterns of your wings.
beautiful.
hypnotizing.
brittle.
they simply have to compete to entice you to settle onto their palm. surely you would be happier if you were to be put in a garden they’ve made just for you? a space full of your favorite flowers and the only one person who would be able to appreciate your entirety to the fullest?
and if your perfect wings has to become just a little bit imperfect for you to end up in his grasp, then that’s a small price to pay, doesn’t it?
“as someone who's willing to give up the nation he’s built for thousands of years, why don’t you be the gentleman that you are and back off this time, xiansheng?”
“i do not think you understood my actions correctly. never have i ‘given up’ on liyue and its people. in fact, i believe i have never given up anything that managed to catch my eye throughout the course of my life - for you see, i pride myself of having an eye for the most exquisite crafts. whenever i recognize such brilliance, i must add them to my collection. no matter how much it costs.”

Ethical Alternatives to Dolls Kill
While Dolls Kill offers kawaii, punk, goth, and streetwear fashions, they’re an unethical fast fashion company that has been accused of stealing designs from small creators. They’ve also been accused of promoting rape and racism (implying that only white people can be goth, selling a Native American headdress as a costume, and supporting police during the Black Lives Matter movement) and having a lack of transparency in how they reduce their impact on people, animals, and the environment. With this in mind, here are some of my favorite alternatives I found (you can tap on the titles to access the sites)
LOUDBODIES
Tumblr media
This Romania-based retailer offers sizes from XXS-10XL, and you can even make a custom order for free if you'd like! Many of their pieces are pricey, but they do offer an affordable line of fashion. Their values include sustainable and recycled materials, made-to-order clothing, low waste production, OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, carbon neutral shipping, body-inclusive models (see above) and locally-made clothing. They also offer worldwide shipping.
NOCTEX
Tumblr media
NOCTEX is great for dark, goth, edgy fashion. They’re based in Canada and ship internationally. Available sizes only include XS-XL, but this retailer uses reclaimed and deadstock materials, and also have low-waste production. They offer many items including tops, dresses, pants, skirts, footwear, and accessories like bags, makeup, and jewelry, so there’s a lot to choose from!
Uye Surana
Tumblr media
For lingerie lovers, this is the place! While they’re based in New York, their clothing is ethically made in Columbia, with cute designs that come in sizes XS-5XL, so it’s quite inclusive! Items include bralettes, undies, stockings, camis, and garter belts, so go on and be adorably sexy, my loves.
KILLSTAR
Tumblr media
Despite being introduced by Dolls Kill, the UK brand Killstar is actually more ethical. In fact, they’ve cut their ties with the brand over the owner’s support of police during the BLM movement. They’ve donated to charities that promote ending racism (whereas Dolls Kill promoted racism to an extent) and they also promote individuality. They offer sizes XS-4XL (from what I’ve found) and they even have men’s clothing!
Broken Promises
Tumblr media
Another brand that left Dolls Kill, Broken Promises is based in California. Offering sizes XS-3XL, this brand offers clothing that caters to skate culture for all genders. Their clothes are also sold at Zumiez, so if you don’t want to shop online and you would prefer to go to the mall, you’ll probably find them there!
Disturbia
Tumblr media
And another UK gothic brand that was promoted by Dolls Kill, this family-owned business has been going strong since 2003. Their website claims that sustainability is “a core value in [their] ethos”, and their goal is to create fashion that doesn’t harm the environment. They’re committed to recycling and reducing their carbon footprint, and all of their leather is false or recycled to reduce animal cruelty. They have a fully traceable supply chain with manufacturers in the UK, China, Portugal, Turkey, and Morocco, all with safe production facilities. Rest assured, your money will be going to a great place.
Cyberdog
Tumblr media
Ravers, this one is for you. Catering to clubbers and DJs since 1994, Cyberdog offers neon and dark streetwear. They’re based in London, and their flagship store is located in Camden Market, so anyone who lives around the area (or would like to visit) can see these rad designs in person! (P.S: A huge downside is that they only offer sizes S-L, so this brand has the smallest size range on here)
Gothic Lamb
Tumblr media
“The home for melanated misfits”, as their designer calls it, is black-owned and offers sizes from S-5XL, making this brand one of the more inclusive ones on this list. The owner, who calls herself Lucy, founded Gothic Lamb in the summer of 2016. She was inspired by brands like Killstar and Disturbia, however, she found that there was a lack of representation at the time, as she felt that none of the models looked like her, so she decided to create her own. While there is a small collection, it’s still a great collection and it’s a great place to purchase from if you like supporting black-owned businesses.
publicspace
Tumblr media
A vaporwave-streetwear brand based in Los Angeles, CA, they support and collaborate with artists to create their designs (hence why they’re named publicspace). Though they have a small collection, their size range is XS-3XL, so it’s mostly inclusive.
Shop secondhand
You can also shop on Etsy to purchase from independent designers. A much cheaper option would be to shop secondhand. Sites like Poshmark and Depop are great for shopping secondhand, especially if you want to buy from fast fashion brands like H&M and Shein without giving them your money. Alternatively, you can go to your local thrift shop (do not shop at the Salvation Army, they are aggressively Christian, homophobic and transphobic) or consignment store. You can give your unwanted clothes and other items to these places (consignment stores will give you a certain percentage of their price for the item) to help people and need.
In conclusion, please do not buy from unethical fast fashion retailers and consider shopping ethically, whether it be for new or used clothes.

pearls
Tumblr media
My grandmother was a diamond woman. One of the first things she bought herself, when WWII came around and she started working in the factory making bomber airplanes and got her first paycheck for it was a diamond ring. Then a fur coat and then a bright yellow sports car so - that says something about both the woman and the way wages were back in the day. She had to give up the car when my grandfather came back from the war alive, something I suspect my grandmother never quite forgave him for and over time the fur coat went the same way. She never stopped with the diamonds though. Over the years, and another husband, she collected them and when she was old she had all of her diamonds set into two huge rings, one for my sister and one for me. She showed them to us, in their safe deposit box at the bank, when we were young, with a promise that when she was gone, she would still be with us in those two rings.
Rings that were sold long before she died to pay for family needs but - diamonds. Always diamonds.
For myself, I always wanted something less - pat. Everyone loved diamonds. I wanted something unique and, living on the coast, there were plenty of places that sold pearls, both fresh water and salt. Pearls were magic to me, born of the sea, plucked from knobbed shells that I found ugly, secrets unwillingly shared by their oyster hosts, each one special and one of a kind. I told my grandmother, the first time she offered to buy me jewelry, that I wanted a pearl.
She refused.
Pearls, she firmly told me, meant tears. I could pick any other stone to wear but she would not, she said, buy me sorrow.
It was the second time she taught me a superstition with the solid assurance of it being fact. It stuck with me.
So, lets talk about pearls, the traditional birthstone of June.
Pearls have been taken from the sea almost the world over and their legends stretch that far too. In many Asian countries, pearls are tears that fell from one god or another into the ocean or the blood of dragons that did the same, falling into the water below them as they fought. Sometimes the oysters themselves are responsible, swallowing down rainbows to make their pearls. In Western culture, pearls have been said to be the tears Adam and Eve shed when booted from the Garden or a result of the goddess Venus rising from the foam of the ocean. Pearls show up in the Bible, both in the story about the merchant who sold all he had to buy a pearl he found in the market and with the proverb about 'throwing pearls before swine', a rebuke against giving wisdom to people who won't listen.
Interestingly enough, in Asia, pearls are a symbol of wisdom as well as prosperity and are considered lucky. In China, gold colored pearls are especially prized and dragons are often shown clutching one in their claws, symbolizing their wise nature. In Polynesia, its black pearls are prized for their rainbow incandescence, said to be the gift of a god to the human princess he loved. Western cultures prize white pearls which are said to represent purity, innocence, elegance and sophistication and despite my grandmother's words, are worn by brides on their wedding just as often as they're not, with a list of cravats that let people get around the 'pearls mean tears' with it being all right as long as the bride buys them herself, as long as the bride doesn't buy them herself, only if the groom gives them to the bride, only if they're borrowed, only if they're new and lastly, they're worn to represent fake tears that can take the place of real tears so the bride won't need to shed any in her marriage. Never, the saying goes, buy pearls that are whiter than your teeth.
Jackie Kennedy made wearing a pearl necklace a long running fashion trend and the painting The Girl With the Pearl Earring is almost as well known for her pearl as the girl. Considered a feminine gem recently, ropes of pearl were worn by men throughout history as a way of showing their wealth, particularly in India. The pearl is also considered a magical component, supposedly good for good fortune, protection and summoning wealth as well as a guard against snake bites and jaundice. Pearls are associated with the moon. They are used in love spells and sleeping with one under your pillow is said to ensure fertility. One of my favorites is that wearing them when you're scuba diving prevents shark attacks!
Speaking of diving, if you want extra reading, look up the Ama of Japan, women who traditionally freedive deep for pearls without breathing equipment. Their history goes back centuries and is absolutely woven with folklore and stories. (If you want me to make a post about them, just ask).
So - are pearls tears? Maybe. But not all tears are bad and these are particularly magical looking ones too.

I have a question re the Morrigan beads: where did you get that raven pendant and was it an independent seller on etsy out of Canada? I used to have it and wore it daily for a year until ALL of the silver wore off and I was SO surprised to see that exact raven somewhere else as I dont often see it and it's SO beautiful. I ask because if it WASNT from the person I ordered it from (who claimed it was his hand made pewter) then he lied about making it (idk why thatd happen) and if it WAS made by him, congrats that is so cool.
As much as I dislike being the bearer of bad news, I loathe dishonest business practices even more. My answer's going to reveal something pretty bleak about Etsy and artisan crafts in general, so bear with me.
To answer your question, no, I didn't buy it from an Etsy seller in Canada. I bought it directly from the manufacturers in China.
A few things could have happened:
The seller designed and crafted the original pendant and what I have is a Chinese knockoff.
The seller bought the pendant from China but used it to create a dye for pewter-casting.
The seller flat-out lied (and I goofed and mislabeled pewter as stainless steel).
The third scenario seems most likely, given what I'm about to tell you about Etsy.
Ah, Etsy. I used to have so much faith in you. What was once a paradise for crafters and antiquing is now a den of resellers disguising themselves as crafters. This is especially true with Etsy's pagan market.
Here's a screenshot of Etsy after searching "norse jewelry."
Tumblr media
I know for certain the first three items on the first row and the last two items on the second row are sourced straight from China, because I've seen them on AliExpress. Here's the mjolnir from the first row. Note the price difference:
Tumblr media
Now, reselling isn't a bad-faith practice by default: Your favorite brick-and-mortar metaphysical shops are all resellers. But the fact you were (probably) screwed over and lied to over something you cherished is terribly unfair, and it's your right to know this information. This is especially true considering Etsy's reseller issue is only getting worse.
(If people are curious, I'd be happy to go into why I use Chinese suppliers and the ethical reasoning therein, but the tl;dr is that it keeps my prices reasonable and doesn't reward resellers.)

Gold Chain Bracelet
youtube
In today's society, a gold chain bracelet is no longer seen as stereotypically feminine. A growing number of males in recent years have been seen wearing chains as fashion accessories. You can't deny the impact that a chain around your neck has on your overall style.
Gold belly chain jewelry have been prized since the Middle Ages when they were given as rewards for service to the royal court. As of now, it reeks of authority and confidence.
A wide selection of chain types can be found in stores today. Rope, Snake, Figaro, and Wheat are some examples. Cuban links, Venetian chains, Mariner chains, Box chains, and Curb chains are just some of the various options.
The impression left by a person dressed in a gold style lasts. As long as you're sporting a fantastic gold chain anywhere on your person, the effect will be fantastic regardless of the style you decide for.
Much like clothing, chains of any hue are a style statement. They reveal information about the wearer's character traits without drawing attention to themselves. The higher the price tag, the more sophisticated the look and the more elaborate the design.
This is something that only the rich and famous may enjoy. This bodes well for their reputation in the eyes of the public.
The purity of gold in jewelly is measured in karats, and this number fluctuates from piece to piece. Bracelets made in 14-karat or 18-karat gold are the most prevalent, though the exact percentage of gold in each varies by region of origin.
A higher carat rating indicates higher quality and thus a higher price. Because of its increased gold content, 18K gold is typically used for high-end jewelry. Because of this, they are also the most precious and marketable.
Neither variety of gold, however, is prone to wear and tear, so either can be used frequently.
Gold from the Middle East typically ranges in purity from 18K to 24K, and sometimes even to 100% gold. The abundance of 23 and 24-carat gold in Thailand, China, and India is well-known. Intricate patterns are included as well, which is guaranteed to pique consumers' interest.
While there appears to be an infinite variety of gold-plated or merely gold-layered materials, not pure gold, it is crucial to perform some preliminary research before purchasing a gold chain bracelet. It might be difficult to tell the difference between the two, so only purchase from reputable sources. Even though the gold plating makes items look shiny at first glance, they will eventually wear off.
Gold Chains - True Representatives of Gold Jewelry Elegance
Unlike bulky gold necklaces, gold chains are practical enough to be worn every day. This helps explain why these pieces of jewelry are so common. These necklaces are a great way for women to show off their discerning taste. Gold chains are among the most authentic pieces of jewelry, and they come in a virtually infinite range of styles and sizes to suit wearers of all preferences.
You, as the owner of a jewelry store, must be aware that gold-produced chains can be bought in a humongous variety of patterns from various countries. Indian gold chain designs, for instance, are among the best in the world. Online company directories facilitate gaining access to these jewelry offerings. The following advice will assist you in providing your consumers with memorable jewelry shopping experiences.
The Most Well-Liked Patterns
Among the most sought-after styles, curb gold chains are often requested by numerous consumers. Symbolic of today's current trends in gold jewelry, these chains are renowned for their elaborate patterns. From jewelry factories in various parts of the world, you can order these chains in an infinite variety of designs. Gold rope chains, meanwhile, are another common style. There's a reason why women all over the world swoon over these incredible patterns.
Women who are going for a more refined style tend to favor box chains. The ability of these chains to support heavy gold pendants is what makes them so popular. Many ladies enjoy accessorizing their necklaces with dainty pendants; box chains offer fantastic possibilities for this style. Gold herringbone chains are another popular style because of how well they complement a variety of outfits.
These necklaces can be made in a variety of styles. Designs like those featuring intricate snake patterns are particularly captivating. Wheat-patterned and Cuban-inspired designs are two more common patterns for these chains. Include as many styles as you can in your inventory of these chains.
Real, High-Grade Gold
Buyers of gold jewelry who have experience in the market worry about not receiving goods of sufficient quality. This means you need to make sure they have access to high-quality chains. While high-end buyers may not care about the carat value of the chains they purchase, low-income consumers may care greatly. Rose gold, green gold, blue gold, and even black gold chains are all part of a growing fashion trend. You need to know how much gold and how much of what else is used in these chains. Customers may also be curious as to whether the chains were made by applying a thin layer of gold to their exteriors or by combining other substances.
Add men's gold chain styles to your store's selection. More people may visit your shop if you sell chains with gems set into them. Be aware of the most up-to-date market trends and styles. Moreover, research which jewelry producers have a good reputation so you know where to get quality pieces.

Throwback to that one time I was in a market in China (this was years before I figured out I was aroace let alone agender but I think the fact I'm agender adds to this story) and a lady at a stand saw me, little fem presenting fella, looking around, and was like "hey little girl would you like to buy some jewelry??" and I was like "no sorry I don't really wear jewelry" and she was like "what about a headband?" which makes sense bc even if my hair wasn't waist length yet it was still pretty long and I awkwardly was like "no sorry I don't really wear those either" AND THEN she's like "then what about a hair elastic or scrunchie" (I should add I don't like wearing scrunchies and back then wore my hair loose) and me, being like ten, was even more awkward when I said that "no thanks I have more than enough at home" AND THEN. AND THEN. THE LADY GLARED AT ME AS MY DAD LED ME AND BROTHER AWAY. I WAS LIKE TEN AND I LOOKED EIGHT. IT'S SO FUNNY TO ME.

Titanium Tube
One of the most considerable residential properties of Titanium are its strength, its resistance to rust as well as it stamina to weight proportion.
Titanium is 45% lighter than steel but it is just as strong. It is only 60% heavier than aluminium but is 100% more powerful.
Titanium is basically as immune to rust as platinum, and can holding up against acids, salt services, as well as also the extremely destructive chlorine gas.

So When Can I Go Back?
What you’ve all been waiting for, Part III!
We woke up early on Friday to catch a flight back to Buenos Aires. Once we arrived, we were starving, so my friend and I went to an Italian restaurant called Los Inmortales! My friend from Argentina recommended the restaurant to me, and it lived up to the hype. Argentina has a lot of Italian influence, so it’s known for its delicious pizzas and pastas. I ordered a pizza that was loaded with mozzarella and olives, and I devoured it in seconds.
Later, we caught up with some other exchange students who happened to be in Buenos Aires too! We stopped by the Floralis Generica, la Universidad de Buenos Aires, and el Museo de Bellas Artes. All the national museums are free in B.A. I was shocked to see several Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, and Jackson Pollack paintings in the museum! They weren’t even enclosed by glass or anything; I was scared that I would accidentally brush into them. That night, the girls and I had a relaxing night in watching Mafalda, a famous animated movie in Argentina, like Charlie Brown in the U.S.
The next day, I woke up and went to this super hip café called Café Martinez, one of the top-rated cafes in B.A. There, I got a waffle loaded with pecans, banana, and Nutella. I always like to order something on the menu that I’ve never tried before, so I got an orange cold brew, or coffee with a few splashes of orange juice. It sounds gross, but it hit the spot. I then decided to get my miles in and walk through the Teatro Colon, La Catedral Metropolitana, and the Casa Rosada where the president lives. It’s like the White House but it’s the Pink House! I also walked by the Obelisco, where everyone flooded the streets after Argentina won the World Cup. After, I stopped by Puerto Madero, a scenic and tranquil part of B.A. where boats used to come into port. There is the Puente de la Mujer which is shaped like the spine of a woman’s back when dancing tango! Fun fact: tango was born in Uruguay and Argentina at the same time. In Puerto Madero I got a choripan, which is like a hot dog but with grilled chorizo. Can you tell that I’m eating my way through Argentina?
Later, I went to the Cementerio de la Recoleta where I saw the mausoleum of former Argentine president Domingo Sarmiento. It was amazing to see how big the mausoleums are for these prominent Argentine families! After, I got dulce de leche ice cream at Luccianos. It was so delicious but so rich that I felt a little sick afterward :/
After another relaxing night chatting with family and friends, I woke up the next day to get breakfast and go shopping at the Feria Artesenal Intendente de Recoleta. The market was filled with local artists and their creations, including jewelry, hand-made clothing, and custom mate cups! could have spent a fortune there, everything was so unique and specific to Argentina. I especially loved anything to do with Lionel Messi. It’s clear that he’s a national figure in the country. Then, I checked in at a hostel because I spent one more day in Argentina than the girls, and I walked through Avenida Corrientes and got three empanadas: jamon y queso, carne picante, and humitas. They were so tasty and even better with a cold Coke-Zero. I later met up with some other international student friends and we walked through the Jardin Japones! It was a gorgeous little sanctuary that had ponds with koi fish and plants native to Japan. There was also a spot where you could make origami and write a message, so the four of us made penguins and wrote where we were from. There was also a spot where you could write a wish and hang it up on a tree. I saw one message in scribbly handwriting that said “quiero ser futbolista”, or “I want to be a soccer player.” How precious! After, we walked an hour to the Barrio Chino, like China Town in New York. I loved looking at all the different types of sweets and drinks they sold. I didn’t realize how diverse B.A. is in terms of food and culture; it’s incredible!
My friend, Cleo, had studied abroad in Buenos Aires a few years ago, so she knew of a spot where people meet up to dance tango! We went there and we watched several couples dance around the plaza. They would often change partners and chat with each other as they were dancing. I loved how free and serene they looked; now I want to take tango classes! After, we went to a Mexican restaurant because one of my other friends, Karen, is Mexican! We had some delicious tacos, although I will say, they weren’t nearly as spicy as they should’ve been. After that, I headed back to the hostel and slept like a baby.
On Sunday, I took the ferry back to Uruguay and conclude my whirlwind of a trip. I’m so proud of how independent I was and that I got to visit some touristy spots as well as experience the authentic Argentine culture! Now, I understand why everyone in Uruguay spends their weekends in B.A. I came back to Uruguay a few pounds heavier to be sure but also with a reminder of why I love traveling so much. Argentina, tenés mi corazón!

There’s A Latte Love Here, Chapter 7
New update! (Finally)
Ao3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41830077/chapters/115463161
And the chapter below, if you prefer reading on Tumblr.
It had been a few weeks since you had last seen the brothers at the farmer’s market, and you’d only had a half day at work. Which basically left you in the middle of Ebbott for a few hours with nothing to do unless you wanted to go home. Which.. normally, that is exactly what you would do. But you kind of wanted to meet up with Wine and Coffee again.
(You thought of it as your own personal new year’s resolution, to become better acquainted with the two… and you were determined to stick it out.)
You wanted to become friends with the skeleton brothers, so you had planned to stop by the antique shop the night before and make good on that promise you had given Coffee at Gyftmas. He might enjoy trying a new snack. (...Oh, who were you kidding? Puppy chow was really a glorified dessert). But hey, he seemed excited about the chance to try something new… and it gave you an excuse to stop and talk with the brothers again, so why not?
Thankfully any food you put into your inventory couldn’t become stale or anything… which was just another perk of monster technology.
Honestly, you were also kind of excited to go through the shop anyways and take a look around for yourself. You didn’t necessarily need anything… but why let that stop you from finding something you enjoyed and could appreciate? Hunting for new treasures was the best part of living in Ebbott, and it’s not like there was anyone to stop you.
Because it was still the middle of the day, you were kind of expecting it to be somewhat busy. But as you walked in, you only saw an older lady speaking with Wine at the counter and a monster couple wandering the isles together, quietly discussing and looking at some china sets.
You didn’t see Coffee anywhere, which meant he was probably upstairs… and with Wine busy, it left you free to wander the store yourself, looking around for a treasure of your own to find.
It hadn’t been too long since Gyftmas, but the shop had already shifted and changed since the last time you visited. There were still the beautiful antique wooden shelves lining the walls and some of the aisle walkways, but most of the items and displays placed upon them were different. Or, at the very least, they had been moved to be more accessible or visible to whoever was looking.
There were of course the large items lining each of the pathways… old globes, mirrors, an antique luggage case, side tables, bookstands, and plenty of other pieces of furniture. But you always had more of an interst in the knickknacks. You had plenty of furniture, but wouldn’t necessarily mind yet another small display piece in your home, even if you didn’t expressly need one.
Wanding the aisles, you could see tea-sets and silverware, jewelry of all kinds, glass perfume bottles and antique picture frames, small figurines and toys. You even saw a few old books as you neared the back wall of the shop, but what caught your eye was an old chess-set.
…It had been years since you last played chess. It was something you had learned the basics of as a child, but you hadn’t truly begun to play until after the crash brought you to this universe. It had been a good way to pass the time (and a good distraction mechanism to keep you from thinking too hard about what you had lost).
This particular set certainly was beautiful. A gorgeous, wooden, seemingly handcrafted board with each piece meticulously detailed and polished.
But… realistically, you didn't have anyone to play with. And as lovely as it was, you weren’t sure where you would put it. The thought of something so pretty sitting in your home collecting dust didn't really sit right with you either. So you could at least appreciate it here. Hopefully someone would find it and enjoy it soon enough.
“FIND SOMETHING INTERESTING, DEAR?”
You couldn't help but jump, apparently too lost in your thoughts to notice Wine standing beside you.  …The thought of how he seemed particularly gifted at doing that crossed your mind before you quickly brushed it off.
You were distracted… that was a good enough reason for not spotting him.
…Right?
Even if this wasn’t the first time he had managed such a feat either. You weren’t necessarily unaware of your surroundings all the time, but it was… unsettling how many times he had already pulled it off if you thought about it.
But then again, maybe you were just paranoid.
He had been nothing but polite each time you had run into him, and giving yourself some credit, you had also been in a distracting environment each time he appeared beside you. So… it was probably fine. It’s not like he had done anything else to make you feel wary of him.
And you refused to let the fact that he was a fell-monster influence your thoughts either. There was enough prejudice in the world, and you were not going to add to it, even within the confines of your mind.
You would always rather make friends. (A trait that was generally assigned to those who had come from “softer” universes… particularly dance-tale. Which, seeing as how that was the universe you came from, you guessed you were fitting into the stereotype… not that you particularly minded).
You smiled, “Just trying to have some amount of impulse control. I have enough knick-knacks to fill out my house with decor and really don’t need more. But if I did, I certainly know the right place to come looking. Though I’m not sure how you can stand to let some of these beautiful pieces walk out the door with someone else.”
He let out a slight chuckle, “OH, I SUPPOSE IT’S AN OLD HABIT BY NOW. CAN’T KEEP EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW.”
He tilted his head, seemingly out of curiosity, his grin never changing… and yet, there was something off about his inflection, or maybe it was something in his stance as he spoke again, “BUT TELL ME, WHAT REALLY BRI-”
He was suddenly cut off as you heard a surprised, “oh, hi!” from behind you.
Turning, you saw Coffee standing on the stairs, the uncomfortable feeling disappearing at the sight of the taller skeleton. You smiled at him, “Hello Coffee.”
He returned the gesture with a small grin of his own, “w-what are you doing here?”
“Just decided I ought to uphold that little oath I made to you back at Gyftmas. Thought maybe you’d enjoy getting to try a new snack?” You pulled the bag from your inventory and offered it to him. “…Besides, can’t I come say hello and see what you were up to?”
You turned to offer Wine the same, but he was gone. Probably went back up to the front of the shop. He did still have customers to deal with after all. …You were sure you’d run into him as you left.
Looking back at Coffee you saw his eyes sparkling excitedly at the sweet smell, apparently excited to satiate his sweet-tooth with something new. Already digging in to taste the dessert.
After a few handfuls, he offered another small grin toward you. “it’s great! the powdered sugar is the best part.”
You noticed that he didn’t even stutter… guess sweets really bring out the bold in him. (You’ll have to remember that).
“Like I said, simple but sweet. Glad you like it though.” You snickered, “Even if it’s no ice cream, it’s a good comfort food.”
“heh. i-if it didn’t kill me.. i’d eat i-ice cream every meal..” He hesitates, seeming to struggle with his words for a moment before looking out towards the front of the shop and making a decision. “…w-want t-to see something..?”
“As long as you’re comfortable showing me, sure.”
He turns and begins walking back up the staircase, indicating for you to follow him. Pausing for only a moment, you slip beneath the rope-divider and follow him up the forbidden stairs.
Reaching the top, you follow him through the door to see… an apartment.
Not that surprising, you guess. You had kind of assumed the divider was there because the brothers didn’t want any customers accidentally wandering up into their home. Well, assuming the heavy wooden door at the top was unlocked for some reason.
You didn’t spend any time looking around, simply following Coffee who led you past both the kitchen and living room to a hallway with several closed doors. Opening the first one, you could see a very large room stretched out in front of him, and you could smell a mixture of paint and woodshavings drifting out.
His workshop.
But what drew your immediate attention was sitting exactly in the middle. A gorgeous marble bathtub carved out to resemble a lion.
A tarp was underneath the immense project, presumably to protect the floor, but you were kind of busy trying to stop gaping at the thing. With all the work Coffee had put into polishing and refurbishing the marble, it looked like something that should be put on display instead of using it for a practical use. You know, like bathing.
You couldn’t help but gush for a minute, pointing out details, and just taking in the beautiful work. Not only because were you biased for anything resembling animals, especially something so noble as a lion, but you were also somewhat envious that Coffee got to see such stunning and unique pieces like that, even if it was infrequent.
Having the chance to restore and take pride in the fact that he had gotten to work on projects like that was something to be proud of.
Coffee seemed to soak up the praise and admiration… even if he was blushing a bit. Not quite sure how to gracefully take the compliments. (It was kinda cute in your opinion).
“How long have you been working on this?”
“about t-two weeks now.. h-had to restore the metal legs and lining..”
He points out the shining bronze legs, and you can definitely see how much newer and more polished they look in comparison to the marble.
“still n-need to buff out and polish some jagged e-edges before i’m done..”
“Well, I think it looks great! …Is this one of the more difficult projects you’ve had to do? I mean, I'm sure marble is much more demanding than wood. And I don’t know how often you would get the chance to practice with something like this.”
“it’s time-consuming, but not the hardest. ..it’s just the sanding that t-takes forever.”
He turns and picks up a book from a nearby shelf before starting to leaf through it.
Looking around you could see a large wooden desk and a few shelves, probably for holding projects when he wasn’t actively working on them, and tools hanging along the wall, along with a few blank canvases stacked neatly in one of the corners
By all accounts, it’s fairly organized…. not perfect by any means, but neat enough that it wouldn’t take too long to find something you were looking for.
Turning back you see him holding out the book to you. You can see pictures of past projects… everything from artwork on a canvas, to wooden furniture, a couple bits of pottery, and a variety of other things. You begin flipping through it with interest. Taking in details and admiring the vast differences in everything he's worked on before now.
“the h-hardest projects are couches actually.. g-gotta get the stuffing and shape just right..”
Coincidentally you found a picture of an old couch at that moment, choosing to look at it with more scrutiny now that he told you how hard those were.
After a moment, you can’t help but ask.  “Well… if couches are the hardest, which projects would be the easiest? Or maybe just the most fun because of the variety you get to have with it?”
He smiles at the question, “I-I like boxes and tins the best. Any weird shape as long as I get to p-paint on them..”
You think about it for a moment before asking another question. "Well, I'm sure big projects like this are rare, yeah? So do you do smaller stuff a lot more often?"
"y-yeah, it’s mostly little stuff… I usually take commissions t-two or t-three at a time so I don’t get overloaded... a-anything from art, to furniture restoration, or big things like this."
You grin at him, "At least you're never bored then. I'm sure it must be interesting."
He opens his mouth, looking like he was going to say something else before you both hear Wine calling him from downstairs.
He sighs a little and rolls his eyes, "I s-should take you down… guess I gotta get back to work."
You still can’t help but grin as you follow him back through the apartment, “Well, we’ll just have to talk more later. Thanks for showing me your workshop though! It was cool getting to see what you were working on. Take pictures of it when you're done, yeah? ...I'd like to see the finished version.”
He turns towards you before opening the door to the stairs, looking nervous, before quietly stuttering, “uh.. m-maybe I c-could text you the p-pictures?”
You pause, stunned you hadn’t thought to suggest that yourself. “Oh yeah. Sure!” You quickly pull out a pen and paper from your inventory and scribble your number down, making sure it’s legible, before handing it over to Coffee. “Hopefully this’ll make any of our future meet-ups less of a coincidence.”
…Honestly, you both probably should have exchanged numbers before now… and you really can’t believe it took so long for the idea to come up, but your glad it did! It’ll make it easier to talk to Coffee at least.
He offers you another shy smile, before leading the way down the stairs and toward the front. …Guess he was going to see what Wine wanted. You see the shorter skeleton wrapped up in a conversation with another customer, but Coffee gives you a subtle push towards the door and a whispered bye as he waits for Wine to finish up. As you pass, Wine gives you a subtle nod farewell but otherwise doesn’t react. …Guess you'll just have to talk to him next time.

Select by location
Generally speaking, almost all fashion jewelry is imported, therefore, finding global wholesale jewelry suppliers can become more advantageous. One importante reason is that they have more jewelry sources from around the globe. Look for minimums
When you look at reliable wholesale jewelry suppliers, having a reasonable minimum purchase order is essential. Especially if you are a new starter in the jewelry business, this can be more budget-friendly for you, instead of committing to investing in a huge sum of money in sourcing jewelry.
