Out of curiosity, has any of the Smiling Critters snitched on Catnap to Mommy Long Legs with puppy eyes or are they too scared to since she's not the greatest mother?

(That or she's too busy since she's dealing with 50 dead kids at once?)

as i say in the post, MLL is a mom for the group that is against the prototype, so she doesn't have power over catnap or any of the toys that are in the prototype's cult, BUT she scared the shit out of the cat.

The factory is divide in groups, the two most important are the prototype's cult (where Catnap is) and the non-believers (were the critters and mommy are). There's also other small groups and some that aren't in a group (like Huggy Wuggy), but the point is that each group look for themself, and conflicts are a everyday's bussiness (just like in the special, the bunzo and the PJ that attacked Callem and Charlie we're from the prototype's cult).

Mommy was one of the biggest counter in the non-believers group, since she was able to ''defeat'' catnap in one ocassion (by slapping him with enough force to knock him out), making the cat afraid of her, but that doesn't prevent him from attack the critters when they're alone.

When Charlie is depressed, Vaggie holds her and sings her own version of "Cheer Up, Charlie" from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". The rest of the staff have secretly witnessed this at one point or another, but never speak of it because they'll never admit that seeing the princess being sung to by her girlfriend made them cry.

I love my Chaggie requests. Sorry for how long this took. I gave that song a listen since its been so long since I seen that movie and it really fits Charlie and Vaggie well.

He just wanted to pull an innocent prank on the girls by releasing a toy mouse in their room but when he came to sneak in he stopped when he realized they were still in there. He attempted to wait it out until he heard the distinct sound of Charlie's muffled sobs. Vaggie sounded like she was trying to console her and it didn't seem to be working until she began to sing. The song was a bit familiar and Angel couldn't figure out why but it was very soft and sweet. And it sounded almost like a lullaby but with encouraging lyrics. The soft and loving lyrics coupled with Vaggie's voice made for one of the sweetest melodies he'd ever heard and when it was done he peeked through the cracks to see Charlie hugging her and thanking her. Angel wiped tears from his eyes and decided not to release the toy mouse. He'll just find some way to prank Husk instead

He had decided to find Charlie so he could discuss a different rooming situation. He was right next door to Alastor and he hated it. It was making him a bit grumpy and he was likely going to give her a hard time for it. But how could she room them right next each other?!? If he complained hard enough maybe she would...

His thought process stopped when he saw Charlie was crying sitting on the floor and Vaggie sat next to her. Vaggie started singing this beautiful tune that seemed to be written just for her. Charlie stopped crying and slowly relaxed her tensed up body before leaning into Vaggie's warm embrace. When the song was over it was far too a touching moment for him to interrupt. In fact, he didn't understand what he was so angry for. He'll just talk to her about it another time

She had just finished alphabetizing the cleaning supplies and was itching for some more work so she attempted to find Charlie and ask. She zipped around the hotel but skidded to a stop to see Charlie sitting at a coffee table crying her eyes out. Suddenly Vaggie approached her noticing her distress. She asked Charlie what was wrong and Charlie explained how hard it was that they hadn’t received any new patrons since the extermination was canceled. Vaggie tried with little success to comfort her before resorting to singing to her

Niffty was entranced by this beautiful song and the sound of Vaggie's voice. It actually made her feel better and she was already feeling great. She decided she would go ask Alastor instead since the princess was now preoccupied with kissing Vaggie's lips

Alastor was bored. And that would never do. He decided to go find someone to bother. Vaggie might be fun to pester with. He went in search of his next victim source of entertainment and perked up when he heard Vaggie's voice around the corner. But then he heard Charlie's cries and decided to listen in. He loved drama. But to his surprise Vaggie began to sing. He sent one of his shadows around the corner to be his eyes as he watched one of the most loathsome wholesome displays he'd ever seen.

Vaggie was singing some sweet lullaby meant to make Charlie feel better and it seemed to be working. Vaggie's voice was wonderful but the sentiment grossed him out. Not as much as he expected it to though.

When it was finished he opted to leave them alone. He couldn't stand such a waste of time this was... because it definitely didn't pull at his heart strings. Nope, no way.

Help I think my grandma is an avatar of the Stranger and idk what to do about it.

My grandma has always loved scaring people. She thrives on it. Some fun fact about her:

When my Aunt was little, she used to have a bunch of troll dolls that she kept lined up on top of a bookshelf in her room. My grandma started going into my aunt's room after she was asleep and moving the trolls slightly, a little bit each night, until all of them were staring right at my Aunt. When my Aunt finally noticed it scared the life out of her.

When my mom was a kid, she was left at home alone while my grandma went out. When my grandma got home late that night, she walked around the house tapping windows and casting ominous shadows to terrify her. Just for fun.

She has this eerie talent for making stuffed animals look like they're moving on their own. She knows just the right spot on their back to pinch them so that she can manipulate their head and arms without it looking like she is touching them. She used to make them turn their heads slowly to stare at us (her grandkids), and then say that if we weren't nice to our toys they would come to life in the night and seek revenge.

She has this mechanical toy dog with a motion sensor that rolls around on the floor and laughs if you walked in front of it. It scared my baby brother so much that he wouldn't go near it, so she left it on the staircase to keep him from trying to climb it.

She greatly enjoyed screaming in terror whenever we went to the carwash in an attempt to convince us the car wash was a giant mouth that was going to eat us alive.

She loves Stephen King, and seems to have a particularly fondness for Pet Cemetary. Some of her favorite movies are Pans Labyrinth (she talks a lot about the guy with the eyes in his hands) and the Tim Burton Charlie and the chocolate factory movie.

She likes to tell people that if you beat someone to death with a bad of oranges it wouldn't leave any bruises so no one would know what did it. (Not necessarily stranger, just weird.)

What kinda ultimates do you think the members of QSMP would have?

to absolutely No One’s surprise i have, in fact, thought about this extensively. so here are all the ones i’ve decided on

jaiden is, obviously, the ultimate animator. not only is it true to her, it Also matches up with sdr2’s backstory as to how despair spread (as stupid as i think that explanation was). if they’re in a simulation, it would make sense for a danganronpa au that they were put there for the same reason that the 77th class was to return them to their pre-remnant states. (additionally, i think the explanation for the new arrivals would be that the brazilians, french, etc weren’t captured with the original cast and found later, hence why they weren’t added in at the beginning)

roier calls himself the ultimate spider-man. no one knows his actual talent because he’s ADAMANT on that being it, but they’re pretty sure it’s something akin to ultimate traceur (parkourist) or ultimate stuntman/stunt double.

arin is the ultimate AI, kind of in the same sense of alter ego. except instead of inhabiting a computer, he’s taken residence in luzu

charlie is the ultimate gymnast OR ultimate acrobat. i’m leaning towards acrobat as to not have Too many titles match those of the actual games. inspired by him being el backflipo :]

i’m not too sure on fit yet, but i definitely want to make him something sports/body-building related because of his gym. maybe ultimate bodybuilder or coach? he’s in that field Somewhere

someone joked about ultimate yandere for forever and ADMITTEDLY i did toy with the idea. as funny as it is, i think he’d more accurately be the ultimate terraformer/landscaper, considering his past clearing of a mountain and current clearing of an entire desert. maybe ultimate yandere could be a secret title, like junko’s ultimate analyst or the ultimate hope title?

pac and mike definitely have matching ultimates in the science field somewhere, considering they’re currently building their laboratory/factory! i’m not sure what exactly yet tho, just that they’re somewhere around there

and lastly, cellbit is the ultimate cryptanalyst/code breaker! he’s individually devoted himself to any and all mysteries, but his biggest strength is by far code-breaking.

that’s all i got so far! i don’t know enough about the other members/don’t have enough to go off of to give them titles sadly :( additionally, rubius doesn’t get his own ultimate because he’s one of the “helpers” (like monokuma, monomi, the cubs, etc)

I wish more people could mention or appreciate Charlie and the chocolate factory’s soundtrack.

I guess because this movie seems to be so widely hated by americans people online, all they focus on is either their hatred for Depp or Burton. And then it’s hard for them to appreciate anything else about the movie.

But like. The BIGGEST reason I even like the movie isn’t because I like Wonka or because I like Burton (I tbh do not like any of this other movies at ALL except for this one), it is because of the MUSIC. If this movie did not have such a great soundtrack I never would have liked it as much at all.

I hum to the opening theme all the time. The oompa loompa songs are bangers. The INSTRUMENTALS of the songs are great too. I find it soothing. I listen to the soundtrack often. It inspired me to try out different voices as I mimick the different Oompa Loompas. I wanna upload covers sometimes just so that I can toy with my voice.

Also they trained squirrels for this movie and I think that is actually impressive. There is a lot of good things about the movie but I guess it’s hard to appreciate when you don’t like a director or an actor to begin with. I can get that. But I think there’s so much else to focus on.

I posted about this on the wonka post, but Struwwelpeter (particularly this version) is worth its own post.

Also because i felt weird adding my fav illustrations from this book on someone else’s post. Slovenly Peter is an 1845 german children’s book whose basic premise was ‘tell stories of children disobeying or causing trouble and then meeting a horrible consequence’. Scared Straight for things like playing with matches, being greedy, breaking your toys, sucking your thumb where the punishment ranges from dismemberment to death.

These are from a 1915 edition in english. It was translated into different languages around the world and has been hugely influential on children’s literature for the last 150 years.

One of the most cited examples of modern retellings of Struwwelpeter is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory— the kids who misbehave die. The lesson is harsh and absurd because the world is harsh and absurd. It’s a morality tale. The stakes are high so the message sticks. Another is the Gashlycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey (please please read it)

Part of why I like this specific edition is that it has reproductions of multiple different versions the story, along with details of its history and influence

theres queerbaiting in the cartoon???!!!!

We're talking about a 1960/70's cartoon, sadly we can't have a open queer couple in there

BUT everybody and their mother (and the toys in the factory) could smell the queerbaiting in the critters, specially coming from Kickin Chicken character, the first time this happen is in the episode flower boy, 'cause Kickin make some specific comments related to Inoshishi's brother that could implied something more that just ''think he look cool''

Also in others episodes, Kickin can be see been interesed in both female and male critters, but those interactions are never the center in the plot, mostly a background interaction that is never mentioned by the other critters (for example, in the flower festival, Kickin dance with a peacock with colorful feathers, aka a male one).

On the bright side, you could thing the critters universe is so open mind that Kickin liking boys and girls isn't a problem there (and that what Charlie and Alba use to give Kickin a husband in their fanfic), but obviously Play.Co wasn't going to show that in their cartoon.

There's other queer scenarios around the cartoon, but they're or more subtle or only talked in the canned extra content.
