IT WAS ANOTHER normal day in hogwarts, some owls flying around, students in classes and a busy day for the students in potions.

slughorn was currently paring everyone into two groups, y/n was looking around and as slughorn called people into groups the more she realized she was going to end up being paired up with the slytherin prince, draco malfoy.

" ms. l/n you're with...mr. malfoy. you can get all set up over there at the corner near the ingredients, which can be found at page 112 " both draco and y/n nodded and headed over there, as they put their things down they were both flipping to the page slughorn told them to go to, y/n noticed the slytherin ring on draco's finger.

as they get to the page draco grabs the ingredients and heads back to the table, looking over the instructions with his finger to guide him y/n found herself drawn to the ring, how it was simple and silver but the ring with the snake on the top is what caught her eye. draco starts to chop up the ingredients and put them in the cauldron.

" hey i like your rings, they're very pretty, especially that snake one. " y/n tells draco, knowing draco hasn't been the talkative type this year and he seemed to focused on the potion she wasn't really expecting a rep-

" thanks..it's a family heirloom. "

" yeah..they suit you a lot. "

after that no one said anything else as they focused on their potion, to their luck they made it correctly and was able to get dismissed early. "i'll see you later, draco. bye!" y/n gives him a small wave before walking with her friends, ron, harry and hermione, who have also been dismissed early.

y/n and her friends were talking about the quidditch match comming up when hermione asked y/n a question.

" y/n, what were you and malfoy talking about earlier in potions? "

" oh, nothing really. just told him his rings were nice, why? "

harry chimes into their little conversation.

" nothing it's just that..we're a little suspicious of malfoy and we just wanted to make sure you were alright. "

y/n looks at harry. " look, i know your suspicious of him but i mean he is my potions partner, and plus i think i can sort that out for myself, thanks. "

before anyone can say anything else, y/n's owl comes flying into the great hall and lands gracefully onto their table, dropping a letter onto her hands.

" blimey y/n, a letter? this late? " ron says confused. to be fair, it was only lunch time but y/n did find it odd that someone gave her a letter. she opens it up and picks up the letter inside of it.

something drops out of the letter and makes a clink noise, y/n and her friends look down at the table to find a ring on a necklace. y/n reads the note after looking at the ring,

" i noticed how much you were looking at my ring earlier. it seemed like you were really interested in it so i decided to give it to you, i placed it onto a necklace cause i know this ring won't fit you, i hope you like it, darling.

p.s. study session, library after school. "

y/n could feel a smile grow on her lips, she puts the letter down and starts to put on the necklace. " a necklace? who's it from?" hermione asks the slightly flushed girl.

" i- i don't know.."

y/n looks up, seeing draco look over at her and smiling slightly, also quite flushed as y/n smiles back and holds onto the ring, giving the top a little kiss.

"I can't believe you just spent the afternoon at the Manor with me and my mum," Draco said, swaying against Harry on the bar stool, ignoring his friends completely.

Something in Harry's chest burst and expanded until he felt like he might float off his own stool at the way Draco called his mother 'mum' when he'd had just a little too much to drink.

Draco giggled and Harry wanted to curl up in his voice, wanted this moment to never end. "It's ridiculous."

"I loved it," Harry said honestly, a bit too honestly if he was being honest, his tongue too loose from the cocktails they'd been drinking at Draco's favorite restaurant. Narcissa had served them tea and biscuits in the back garden, and she'd shown Harry photos of Draco when he was small; telling story after story about Draco when he was young. Draco had blushed and protested, but he'd looked so delighted that Harry and Narcissa had persisted for the afternoon. "She was a delight."

"She seems quite taken with you," Draco said, shoulder pressing against Harry's as he took another long drink.

He hummed and leaned over to press a kiss to Draco's head, feeling bold and brave in light of the afternoon they'd had and the way that Draco had been so physically demonstrative this evening. Around Draco's friends he'd initially been a little cautious, not wanting to be too much, not wanting to embarrass him.

The other man turned to him and looked up at him from under his eyelashes and Harry's breath caught in his chest. "Harry," he murmured.

"Yeah?" he asked breathlessly.

"Kiss me," he breathed.

He leaned in and kissed him softly, cupping his cheek and stroking his thumb over Draco's cheekbone. There was a wolf-whistle then that had Draco's cheeks flushing pink, but his lips tipped up into a delighted little smile and Harry kissed him again.

"Take me home," Draco said against Harry's lips.

Draco nodded, fingers digging into Harry's curls, "Definitely."

They paid their tab and bid Draco's friends a good night, Draco's hand held tight in Harry's the whole time. He led them into the alleyway before apparating them to Draco's home and taking Draco apart bit by bit.

Harry had a dull ache behind his eyelids when he woke up the next morning. With a little groan he opened his eyes and then promptly caught sight of Draco sprawled across the bed, drooling on the pillow, hair an absolute mess.

He couldn't stop the stupid grin on his face if he'd tried. Godric, Harry was ridiculously in love with him and it was all too soon, all too much, and Harry had learned that he had to slow himself down, had to pace himself, but he still reached out and brushed a lock of hair out of his face. The thought that he could stay here forever just looking at Draco, flitted through his mind and he decided to get up and make coffee before he came off as too much of a creep.

Pressing a soft kiss to the inside of Draco's wrist, he slid out from under the covers and headed to the kitchen. He made coffee and toast before padding back to the bedroom. Casting a quick spell, he tidied away Draco's clothes from the night before into the hamper and folded his on the chair so that Draco wouldn't have to see a mess.

He left the tray on the nightstand and crawled back into bed, kissing Draco and nuzzling against his neck. "Morning," he murmured into his sleep-warm skin.

Draco let out a disgruntled little groan, eyebrows furrowing, lips pouting a bit. "Too loud," he grumbled.

"I made some coffee and toast," Harry said, smiling in spite of himself because it honestly shouldn't be possible to look this adorable when you were this grouchy.

Draco cracked open an eye and reached out a hand, making a grabby little fist for the coffee cup. And Harry was gone on him, absolutely and irrevocably in love.

Pressing one more kiss to the irresistible little wrinkle between Draco's eyes, Harry moved to fetch his coffee cup. When he turned back around, he saw that Draco had slid up to a sitting position, slumping against the headboard.

"Thanks," he grunted, before taking a sip and sighing contentedly.

Harry grabbed the plate of toast with jam and set it between them before picking up his own coffee cup and leaning against the headboard next to Draco.

It was perfect, the quiet space between the two of them, just enjoying a simple morning together while Draco woke up.

"I don't usually let people sit with me while I'm waking up," Draco murmured. "I'm ghastly in the mornings, an absolute monster."

"Draco-"

"I won't be sweet with you in the mornings, Potter. I won't be kisses, and coffee, and kind words. I will take more than I give you in the mornings. I won't-"

"Draco," he repeated, turning his body so that he could see him fully, "I don't need that. I love you like this," he said honestly, "grumpy and quiet, a little prickly. I love you just like this."

Draco tilted his head at him, "You love me?"

He swallowed, "I-" he broke off not sure how to backpedal fast enough. "Yeah," he said with a helpless little shrug. "Yeah I do."

"You can't."

"I can," he replied. "Godric, Draco, I want everything with you and I know it's too soon. I know it's too fast," he added, "but I can't stop thinking about you and all of the things I want with you. I want to spend my days off with you, I want to hear stories about you from when you were small, I want to make you food and straighten up so you don't have to. I want to take photos with you in a million different places and have them document our adventures. I want to come home to you every night, I want to make your life easier by helping with stupid errands." He shrugged, combing his fingers through his curls, "I love you."

"Harry," he breathed, looking on the verge of tears for a split second before he tipped over the edge and the tears started falling, "I'm not awake yet," he complained, wiping his face.

And Harry felt like his heart had expanded past his body. He leaned in and wiped Draco's cheeks, kissing his forehead once before pulling back.

"I can't say it back-"

"That's okay," Harry assured quickly.

He took his hand, "Not because I don't," he said carefully, "I just," he bit his lip. "I can't."

"That's okay," Harry repeated, gently, firmly; heart soaring at the implication of his words.

"Move in?" Draco asked. "Come live with me?"

Harry grinned at him, "I'd love to," he said. "But let's wait until you're more awake and have thought things-"

"If I want you to live with me in the mornings, I'm always going to want to live with you."

He laughed, "Alright," he said easily. "But can we have a lazy day first?"

Draco set his cup of coffee on the table and squirmed back down under the covers, "I thought you'd never ask. Get in here," he said, rolling so his back was to Harry.

He set his cup down and moved the plate before settling in, pulling Draco back against him and letting the comforting weight of Draco's body lull him back to sleep.

Which character do you think had the most potential in the Harry Potter series and do you plan on implementing any of your ideas into them?

I think you may or may have not mentioned this earlier and feel free to ignore this question if it’s a spoiler, but when does Harry begin having feelings for Draco/act on them?

In terms of potential, I'm not quite sure. My first thought was Draco (Duh) mostly because I wish so badly that they kept the scene in the final movie where he threw his wand to Harry. That alone would probably do so much for his character, and I am very likely going to do something with it in the fic. Plus the whole really weird hug with Voldy thing, kinda seems like Voldy is trying to have a relationship with him that parallels Harry and Dumbledore's. Anyway, Draco's SO uncomfortable all the time in 7th, it makes me very excited to get to it :) I also think Narcissa is pretty interesting since she kinda parallels Lily, and the fact she lied to the Dark Lord TO HIS FACE and protected Harry...I know I make Narcissa out to be just a very overbearing mother (and bad cook) but I hope to make Draco see the other sides to her later on, when he gets his head out of his ass. For now, she's sort of just comic relief, but there are some things set up in the very first years that will come back in the later years.

(also i REALLY need to add neville in some more--thematically he's super important, but he just doesn't get that much screen time yet. I'll have to think more about how to integrate him, but definitely he will appear more in 3rd w/ other characters. Other characters I plan to include are Cedric, Luna, maybe Cho? Marietta, probably, for the whole traitor thing in the 5th book, and ofc Pansy and Zabini, though those two are the flattest in the books so I'm gonna have to make up a lot of stuff lol. gotta add in sirius obvs [he's actually my favorite, which was why he was not-malfoy's fave in the old version], and remus [also we gotta discuss the werewolf in the room, with the whole snape prank thing...])

Draco would probably blackmail Lockhart into taking the gun and shooting Umbridge twice. He isn't stupid enough to try to kill Voldemort with a gun (are the horcruxes around in this hypothetical?also Voldy lived in like. WWII? Although he's ignorant of love magic stuff, he is probably deeply aware of the dangers of Muggle weapons, which maybe relates to his desire to conquer them) but Draco would love Umbridge dead, and he'd want more blackmail on Lockhart lol. The man's main fear is losing his reputation so that's probably a better punishment than death. If it's sixth year Draco he might just shoot himself though

I have mentioned that Draco doesn't want to date as a minor or date minors even if physically the same age due to the weird age gap/time question thing (a really big issue in isekai/transmigration imo, and the bit of this fic that makes me want to just make it platonic--seriously. I read one where this grown man DATED A SEVEN YEAR OLD B/C HE WAS IN A CHILD'S BODY??) but Harry will obviously not be thinking about that since for all he knows, they're both normal kids. You can probably safely assume he starts thinking of romance at the same time as in the books, though obviously his friendship w/ Draco and the whole "it's the nineties and I think I'm gay?!" thing would make him not as proactive about it for a while

bc I've watched a couple videos about weird time signatures in videogame music recently. youtube recommended me a video titled something like "Songs in 5/4 Time" and the thing is THE THING IS. 2-D GORILLAZ IS ON THE THUMBNAIL (alongside I think Taylor Swift and some other fucking pop musicians idk). But that was enough for her to be shunned by most of the school, even if she didn't attract quite as much vitriol as her two closest friends.

Had things been different, they might have been a quintet, joined by Vince and Greg. But Vince was dead, burned to ash by Fiendfyre, and Greg was in Azkaban for his cooperation with the Death Eaters. There had been no Harry Potter to advocate for a more lenient sentence for him the way Potter had advocated for Draco not to be punished.

This is WIP (being consistently updated as of me writing this) that I am so glad I came across!! It starts with adult H/D meeting at a wedding, and H is married to Ron (obviously unhappily). Altogether, Hermione isn't in in a happy place in her life. It is made immediately clear they have some (painful) history (and sizzling chemistry). The story is dual timeline, taking us between the "current" timeline and their relationship throughout 8th year at Hogwarts. In addition to the intriguing dual timeline, the writing is so good! So many beautiful and poignant lines, I wanted to write some of them down I loved them so much!

What confuses me about the whole hormone cycle thing is that I never had completely regular 28 day periods naturally, they were almost always around 6-10 days late (a lot of variations outside that but that was the norm), and YET when I take birth control that's 3-weeks-on-1-week-off my body absolutely knows when I'm down to my last couple of pills of the set. Like this is a b/c where all the pills are identical, there's not a tapering level of hormones towards the end. Body is just like "aha, I detect it has been precisely 20 days since you started taking this set of hormone pills. Therefore I must deduce that today is our final pill and tomorrow it shall be the time to bleed!" And I'm like "alright Sherlock, how come you're suddenly able to count properly?"

#like you were never so eager to start at the exact scheduled time before how come you are now #in fact last month I somehow got my period *early* by like 4 days #that's not supposed to be able to happen while taking b/c lmao #draco speaks #probably a good thing I'm a condoms only bitch cus with how fucky my periods can be idk if the b/c even works on me properly #i mean if they don't fully work to regulate my periods are they fully working for their other purpose as well
