There's deleted audio of the Peggies talking directly to the Deputy (that doesn't involve bullets being fired).

And I've wondered since I first heard that audio, "why did they get rid of that?" Cause now I kinda feel robbed of an interesting dynamic between the Deputy and Eden's Gate members (besides the Seeds)

Instead of it being "we'll kill the Deputy on site", it could have been, "we don't really like you, but here's a chance to seek salvation before it's too late."

I'd understand the "kill on site" mind set if Rook had killed the Herald of the region, but it doesn't make much sense in earlier interactions, especially since it contrasts Joseph's earlier statements of wanting the Deputy to join his flock.

Then again, the developers and writers may have had time constraints or a limited budget which is understandable.

Do you think the dynamic could have worked, or be interesting?

I wish they had kept this too! Apparently, a few of those “peaceful” lines can still be heard at the beginning of Far Cry 5 when we set foot in Joseph’s Compound, but there really are many so, clearly, they don’t just exist for that scene. I suppose they wanted to do what they finally did in Far Cry 6: when you holster your weapon and don’t attack them, enemies don’t attack you.

They indeed probably ran out of time, unfortunately. It’s happened before... For example, they cut one of Jason’s friends, Vincent “Vince” Salas, from Far Cry 3 even though he was going to play a big role in the story (we can still see him in a few scenes, though). And, thanks to a tweet from Far Cry 4’s creative director, we know that their original plan was to let players side with Pagan if they wanted to, which could have been very interesting too.

I agree that it would have made more sense for cultists not to always be hostile and immediately shoot the Deputy. The Seeds (especially Joseph) wanted them alive to convert them! Similarly, in Far Cry 4, I really don’t think Pagan wanted Ajay dead so the Royal Army always trying to kill him doesn’t work very well, in my opinion. Gameplay-wise, I get it, but story-wise, it’s contradictory.

It’s always frustrating when developers don’t have enough time to do what they really wanted, especially if their original idea made a lot more sense in terms of the narrative…

James was currently on tour with the boys; last night was Berlin, tonight was Vienna. Although you both wished you could join them as they visited almost every European capital, you couldn’t leave everything for two months. 

Well, you could. James had made it clear you didn’t need to work, that he would buy you anything you ever needed or wanted, but you didn’t want to be completely dependent on him. So while he travelled all around the continent, you stayed home to wait tables and keep your flat warm. 

But it wasn’t like you were completely away from your boyfriend for the whole time; you called each other every night—even the ones where the boys got blackout drunk in foreign hotels, and you constantly stayed updated on everything regarding the band. 

The little bits of connection were how you found yourself on Austrian social media scouring the hashtags related to The Marauders. You scrolled through selfies of fans in front of the empty stage, waiting for the boys to start. Some people brought posters and gifts for them, which always made you smile. Some of the fans even mentioned you in their posts and you commented on a few of them, wishing them a fun time at the concert. 

Then, you sent James a good luck text and went to make yourself dinner. You’ve learned that the best concert pictures and videos get posted a day or two after they’re taken, so you know you don’t need to stay online all night. Instead, you take your food to the couch and put on a movie while the concert hall in Vienna was electric with excitement. 

Near the end of the second movie of the night, you almost fell asleep in your living room, but your heavy eyelids shot up at the feeling of your phone buzzing shamelessly against your thigh. 

It had been going off periodically before, but the notifications increased exponentially in the last few minutes. 

Although you were half-asleep, you couldn’t just let your phone explode with activity. Scary thoughts that something happened to James at the concert overtook your mind and you quickly reached for your phone while attempting to hope for the best. 

It was about James, just not what you were expecting. Someone had caught a video of your boyfriend making out with Lily Evans, the lead singer of their opening band, outside behind the venue. 

The clip was short but inarguable. That was obviously James and Lily, and there was no debate on what they were doing. 

It showed them quickly, then the teenage girl who took the video flipped the camera to herself and said something in German. The only thing you could understand was your own name, and you weren’t sure you wanted to know what the rest meant. 

The video was just posted, but it was already spreading. There were so many comments and reposts; everyone seemed to have something to say on the matter. 

It ranged from ‘you should take this down, imagine how humiliating it is for (y/n)’ to ‘I mean, we’ve known this was coming lol look at their constant flirting’, and you weren’t sure what hurt more. 

And even though every single take felt like a slap in the face, you kept scrolling through them all. You were careful not to interact with any of them so as to not encourage drama, but it seemed like the fans were doing fine on their own when it came to stirring the pot. Eventually, it just became all too much. You took a screenshot of one post and sent it to James. 

But despite that, you weren’t staying up any longer. You shut off your phone, plugged it in across the room, and started getting ready for bed. You didn’t care if the only other thing to do was cry yourself to sleep, you weren’t spending any more time watching your boyfriend kiss his coworker.

The night barely consisted of sleep. There were periods where you calmed down enough to sleep, but you woke up several times in a pool of emotions. You managed to stay asleep for long enough that you’d be adequately rested, and that was good enough for you. 

When you opened your phone in the morning, you were sure that any limits to messages and mentions must have been hit. So not in the mood to hear anyone else’s opinions on your relationship, you didn’t even bother opening social media. 

You saw that James had sent a string of texts and tried calling you several times, and your heart ached. He was the only person who you would listen to about this, but you didn’t want to hear anything he had to say. What could he say over the phone to fix this? 

Then, as if on cue, your phone vibrated with an incoming call from him. 

You were torn on what you should do. Answer and listen to him begging for forgiveness, decline and ignore everyone? If you answered and he asked for mercy, would you forgive him? You even thought about airing out all his secrets online in a petty act of revenge. But none of those really seemed like something you would want. In this fragile state, you wondered if anything could help. 

Then your attention snapped back to the picture of him on your screen, letting you know he wanted to talk. 

Compromising between all the ideas that had just been running through your head, you declined the call and opened your messages. ‘come back home and we’ll talk.’ was all you sent James before tossing your phone aside.

“Y/n, can you come help me put the dresses on? I want to do a grand reveal for your mom.” Bai says the second you walk into the bridal shop. You finish your cafe mocha, courtesy of Felix, and toss it in the trash before heading towards the back of the shop.

You walk slowly through the shop, your hand grazing the beautiful white gowns. You always pictured that your first time in a bridal shop would be for your own wedding. Hell, you thought that you'd be buying a dress for your and Chan's wedding.

When you get to the back of the shop, Bai is waiting impatiently in her underwear. She's never had a problem showing off her body. You, on the other hand, felt self-conscious about wearing anything that showed off your stomach because of the scar that ran across it. The fact that she was just walking around in her bra and underwear without care annoyed you.

"I came in here earlier to pick out dresses to try on," Bai says, not even looking at you.

"Whatever gets me out of here faster," You mumble under your breath. You put your bag down in the corner of the room and go to help Bai into one of the dresses. One of the workers in the shop comes up to help and Bai shoos them away like they're a pest.

You watch as Bai steps into the dress and pulls it up. It's a beautiful white ball gown sprinkled with faux diamond embellishment. The back of the dress is a corset; untied and awaiting you to lace.

"So, how are you enjoying my sloppy seconds?" Bai asks as you tie the corset. You purposely pull too hard, earning a squeak from Bai. One of the dressing room attendants rushes to your aid and undoes your handiwork.

"Felix and I are fine, thanks for asking." You walk off to the corner of the room and watch as Bai gets laced up properly.

"Bet you were shocked when you found out, huh? I can give you some pointers. I know how to keep him satisfied." A smirk creeps on her face. You want to slap it off of her.

"How satisfied could you have possibly kept him if he chose me over you in the end?" You remark. You're taken aback by your own comment, you thought that you had said it in your head. The smirk leaves Bai's face and turns down into a frown. Her face is slowly turning red.

"Don't worry, babe. He'll get bored eventually. Chris did." She says sweetly. You ball your hands in anger instantly and rub your thumbs into the crooks of your pointer fingers.

"Okay, you're all set. Why don't we go show off this dress to your other guest?" The dress shop worker calls from behind Bai.

The three of you walk out to the showroom where your mom was waiting on her phone. Her head pops up when she hears you walk in. She drops her phone in her lap and brings her hand to her face. You roll your eyes at her reaction as you sit down next to her.

"So, Auntie, what do you think?" Bai asks your mother, who now has tears in her eyes.

"I know this is only the first dress, but I think it's perfect. Y/n?" Your mom turns to you for your opinion.

"It's a beautiful dress. The color is wrong I think. Maybe like a black or something. A scarlet 'A' at the very least." Your mother lightly smacks your leg to tell you to behave. You're not sure where this newfound confidence with Bai is coming from, but you don't exactly hate it. Especially watching her squirm when she can't respond how she normally would.

"Y/n, I know you're feeling left out. I picked out your dress earlier, why don't you go back and try it on so we can get the full effect?" Bai closes her eyes and gives you a fake grin.

You follow one of the dress shop workers back to the dressing room area, where she leads you to a smaller room. In the room, the most hideous dress you have ever seen is sitting on a dress form. You let out a distressed laugh and quickly pull out your phone for a picture and send it to the group chat.

Begrudgingly, you walk back into the showroom, where Bai is in yet another ball gown dress. She and your mother are speaking so intently, you feel like you're interrupting something. Your mother's eyes meet yours and nearly pop out of her head.

"Oh my gosh… Y/n, honey, you look… that dress--" Your mother stammers to find the right words.

The dress is way shorter than you would have liked, on top of all the extra unnecessary embellishments like the bow and random ruffle skirt.

"The dress looks so perfect for you! I made sure it was a different style from the rest of the bridesmaids' dresses so that people would know that you're the maid of honor." Bai beams, clearly enjoying your discomfort.

"Thanks," You grumble.

"Oh, Y/n, I was just talking to your mom about this but I had the most wonderful idea the other day. Apparently, some brides gift their grooms something during the rehearsal dinner. I was wondering if you could sing a song for Chris since you have a beautiful singing voice as my gift to him." Bai says, fully turning to face you now.

You want to say no. To scream and throw a fit about everything. But the look on your mom's face stops you from doing just that. Instead, you plaster a fake smile.

"Sure, do you have a song in mind?"

"'Can't Take My Eyes off You.'"

You and Felix sit quietly on your picnic blanket, watching the paddle boats float down the Han River, your view being blocked temporarily by people walking or riding their bicycles. Your food lies between the two of you, mostly finished. The sun is slowly setting as soft pinks and harsh orange streak the sky. An almost picturesque view. 

“She’s stealing my life.” You groan into your lap. 

The two of you were just hanging out since you got out of the dress shop. You didn't intend for today to be another venting session, but your latest interaction with Bai fucked up your mood for the rest of the day. You just wanted to hang out with Felix like a normal fake couple for once.

"What did she do today?" Felix turns to you and places a hand on your back.

"Remember that wedding binder my mom mentioned at dinner two weeks ago? Well, she's taking all of the ideas from my pages. I realized it when all of her dress choices were ball gowns instead of mermaid cuts. And she's marrying the love of my life, so there's that. And for punishment for whatever the fuck I did, I have to wear the ugliest dress I've ever seen and serenade Chan for her with our song." You were choking back tears, the last thing you wanted was to give Bai the satisfaction of crying. She may not be able to see you, but she would know somehow.

"Your song? As in, your couple song?"

"Yeah. I can't even watch 10 Things I Hate About You without thinking about how that's why we chose that song and I'm going to have to sing it to him in front of everyone. And she told my mom about the idea first and she loved it so I can't even say no." You could no longer hold back your tears, they were silently falling down your face.

"Sing it to me," Felix says simply.

"What?"

"I'm your 'boyfriend' and I'll be there, so sing the song to me. Just look at me in the crowd. I would suggest that you don't sing the song at all, but since you have to, singing it to me might lessen some of the pain." You lift up your head and turn to Felix, your tearful eyes meeting his soft ones. 

"Lix, I don't know. I don't think I can sing it at all--"

"Can I ask you something?" Felix brings his hands to your face and wipes the tears from your cheeks with his thumbs.

"W-what? Yeah, I guess." You sniffle and look at Felix confused.

"Why do you even still talk to Bai? She treats you like shit and all of this is clearly taking a toll on you."

"That's...a long story that I really don't want to get into right now. But I can tell you that we used to be super close and that despite that, Bai's behavior towards me is still normal."

"That doesn't make any sense. How could you two have been close but she still treated you like how she does now?" You take a deep breath and sit up, Felix's hands drop from your face.

"Our moms were really close, even for sisters. For a while, it was only Bai. My aunt didn't want any more kids and my mom was having trouble conceiving so for a while, Bai was like their daughter. And then by some miracle or curse, my mom had me. If you ask Bai my birth ruined her life, she's literally hated me since day one."

"Jesus,"

"I know. Anyway, our moms raised us like sisters so we could be as close as them. We did everything together, but everything wasn't perfect. Bai always wanted what I had. It started off with like toys or clothes. If she didn't have it or if she wasn't getting the attention she wanted, she would throw a fit. And a lot of the time I would just give it to her to shut her up."

"So you've always been like this?"

"Unfortunately. When we got older, it shifted to boys. If I even mentioned I had a crush on someone, she suddenly had a crush on them too and they would kiss or start dating or something. She got worse after her parents died, she wanted my parents' attention too and I let her have it." 

"Y/n--"

"Chan was the one person in the whole world that was mine and I wasn't going to give him to her like everything else. I kept him a secret from her for a while too. But I guess that didn't matter, Bai always gets what she wants."

"Not always," Felix chimes.

"What are you talking about?"

"She doesn't have me. You have me."

"Just until the wedding."

"We can remain friends after the fact. I like having you around, despite it only being a few weeks. I feel like I've known you forever." Felix wraps his arm around your shoulder and pulls you in, placing your head on his shoulder.

The two of you sit in silence once again. The sky is more orange and dances across the water like fire. The sounds of children screaming in joy and couples laughing fill the air. 

"Can you tell Hyunjin to stop being mad at me," Felix says suddenly.

"He won't be mad forever. He's just upset because he thinks that you knew Chan was cheating on me back then."

"I didn't-- I only knew that Bai was cheating on him."

"I know. He's felt guilty about introducing me to Chan ever since I found out about him and Bai. He'll get over it soon, but I'll talk to him."

"Thank you," He hums.

Silence falls between you again. You take in the silence and the peace and Felix's scent. Despite the two of you being outside for hours, he somehow still smells like coffee, cinnamon, and sugar. For some reason, it brings you comfort.

"I wish I met you instead of Chan." You blurt out.

"No you don't," Felix responds quickly.

"Yes, I do. We both could have avoided all of this and be so much happier for it."

"Hmm, it might have been worse. I was a mess back then. It's how I wound up getting involved with Bai in the first place. Past me probably would have ended up hurting you more. Hell, it might have even turned out this exact same way.

"I don't believe that." You lift your head off of his shoulder and stare at him.

"Relationships didn't matter to me back then. I just wanted to have fun. I would have just ended up hurting you, I can guarantee that. Despite the circumstances, I'm glad I met you now that I have my shit together." 

"I'm glad I met you too." Felix finally turns to you. A grin so wide on his face that his eyes are like little half-moons.

You're not sure what it is-- his deep voice, his scent, or the lighting on his face from the fading sun that makes him glow more than he usually does-- but you can't take your eyes off him. Your eyes briefly look at his lips, soft and oh-so pink, before you find yourself leaning in. Your lips press into his gently, as if he'd disappear if you added more pressure. Felix has no such fear and presses into your lips. Before you could even process that he was kissing you back, he pulls away suddenly.

"I'm so sorry, I don't know what--"

"Y/n, it's okay,"

"I should go, it's been a long day." You sit up and scramble to pick up all of the food trash that you two had.

FF7 Rebirth - Critics Review Summary and what to expect with Cid and Vincent

FYI: This screenshot is taken from a Spanish critic site, so I apologize for the weird translation. The embargo for FF7 Rebirth has lifted, and the metacritic is out: 93. I browsed through the reviews and have condensed a summary based on what the critics have provided. There aren't any spoilers, but for those who want to go in completely blind, you may want to avoid reading. This summary goes into what we can expect out of Vincent and Cid in a general sense. The purpose of this is to temper certain expectations. Note that some of this may not be a surprise, but for some it might be. As it is, some people are still just finding out Vincent and Cid are not playable. Proceed at your own risk.

Based on the reviews I've see thus far, the general consensus is that even though Cid and Vincent join Cloud and Co to complete the entire party (and as we know are not playable), screentime for both characters are minimal. Case of Cid I'm very sorry Cid-fans, but it looks like Cid has been reduced to a chauffeur/pilot and barely does much with the main party. This had previously been a speculation based on interviews. However, based on what I've seen in the critic reviews, this has been confirmed to be the case.

In terms of Cid's personality, there was a lot of talk about Cid being 'too nice'. And based on the reviews, this also seems to hold true for the duration of Rebirth, albeit we don't know the reason. Cid is stated to be very upbeat in Rebirth, unlike the cranky foul-mouthed guy we know from OG. But I wouldn't despair on this just yet... Cid Speculation While it is unfortunate we don't see the usual Cid, consider the fact that we've heard nothing about Rocket Town, Shera, or if we'll even get Cid's story on how Shinra has treated him. It stands to reason that this view of Cid could be meant to shed light on why he becomes harsh and abusive to Shera (part 3). We may better side with Shera and why she is willing to take the abuse, knowing what he used to be and what he (presumably) becomes in part 3.

Case of Vincent There were a fair amount of positive comments on Vincent's reveal and his characterization, particularly his voice and moodiness which is a comparatively stark contrast to Cid's personality. So good news is, Vincent is as broody as ever. However, just like Cid, Vincent has little time to shine and keeps himself in the shadows, both visually and verbally. Vincent has some side quests that still give his personality time to show, but it would be prudent to not expect much screen time from Vincent in Rebirth. In spite of his lack of presence, however, consider that this still falls in line with how he is in OG. Vincent Speculation "Don't expect anything else from me except fighting beside you." If any of you recall, Vincent in OG made it very clear that he was going to do as little as possible when it came to getting close with the group. It isn't until after Aerith's death and defeating Hojo that Vincent finally comes out of his shell. Even then, by the time Meteor falls, he actively avoids getting close to the group (noted in On the Way to a Smile and Dirge of Cerberus). I think Rebirth is going to establish the vivid contrast between Cid and Vincent, and will then delve heavily into their characters in part 3. While it is upsetting we get so little screentime with Cid and Vincent on top of them being non-playable, consider where we are in the story. Critics have also confirmed that Cid and Vincent arrive fairly late into the game, so on top of story reasons, it makes practical reasons, as well. Given how ambitious Rebirth is, it only stands to reason that part 3 will have a ton more pressure to surpass Rebirth's expectations, and that includes delving deeper into Cid and Vincent via their personalities, gameplay, and backstory. Fans will rightly expect Square Enix to make up for the lack of Cid and Vincent's time in the spotlight. And I'm sure SE knows this.

Other Speculations Given the many hints about Dirge of Cerberus becoming more important to the story, and how strongly they are leaning into Vincent's Chaos, many fans are beginning to speculate that part 3 will draw a lot of elements from DoC, and rightfully so. We know we won't get any Deepground in Rebirth. So likely we will see them in part 3 to wrap up the whole story--- which if you know DoC's story, you know why Vincent will be very important to the ending. And then of course there's the issue with the secret ending aka Genesis, who we also know is connected to Vincent aka Weiss. On top of OG's latter end story and including compilation elements, I think we can safely assume we will get our Vincent/Cid appetites whet in part 3. Yes, it's unfortunate we have to wait another 3-4 years. But I'm thankful we do get some time with both Vincent and Cid in Rebirth, regardless.

ASLFUA Rant//

So I was informed that my very first theory posted on here was shared on another platform. While I'm always open to civil discussion and sharing ideas, I was sad to see just how much my words were taken out of context. I want to thank the person who sent me the screenshots and I want to take this opportunity to address and clarify some things that were written about me and my posts:

First of all, a theory is called a theory for a reason. It does not mean I think what I post will 100% happen or it has to happen in the story. I write about possibilities, and I try to support my ideas by using the webtoon as the primary source. Reader interpretation can vary among different people, that's the fun of reading and the very reason why I started posting in this fandom after seeing that these theories hadn't been discussed before.

I have repeatedly emphasized that I do not care about romantic outcomes in this work because I view the webtoon as a growth story. In my ASLFUA ending theory I wrote about the possibility of Jisu ending up together with Miae. At that time, it wasn't a popular theory, that's why I raised the possiblity of it happening. It doesn't mean I won't like the ending if it doesn't come true. It was a theory for a reason. I wrote that if Jisu was only added to the story to create tension between the two main characters, it would mean bad writing. I never said Cheol ending up with Miae would be bad writing. What I meant was that I want Jisu to have his own character development outside of the Cheol-Miae romantic storyline. I firmly believe he will be an important character because there was no way the creator has left clues about him since the beginning if he wasn't going to be relevant to the main plot. Ever since then, I have made many theories about his role in the story, and I never said he definitely has to be a love interest. Please stop taking my words out of context.

Someone accused me of spreading mistranslations, referring to the lines in ch 2 and 4 about how Cheol will be a special person to Miae whom she'll never forget. The official English translation here is not wrong, it's the same in Korean. If you don't believe me, read the comment section on Naver under episode 2. There are a lot of readers who went back to that episode trying to understand why that line was there. It had a very important placement because it was at the end of the episode, right before the cover of the series which itself was also very symbolic. In the comment section readers have made theories about that line and many expressed their sadness over the possibility of the main characters not ending up together. About the emoji added in episode 4 after the same line, it really depends on your interpretation. I have written several posts where I mention how the narrator treats the characters as kids and uses a playful tone reflecting their age and inexperience about the world. This could be one interpretation - the narrator is looking back on these moments, knowing full well what's going to happen, and even if they don't end up together the tone is playful because those feelings are nostalgic (because with time you grow and look back differently on sad memories). Or you could say the narrator is playful because they are lying and the main characters will actually end up together. As of now, we don't know the answer, so anything is possible. The English translation is not wrong, one question about the series is why that sentence was added in the first place, which opens the door to many interesting theories.

Just my personal opinion, but I do not understand why Cheol and Miae not ending up together would ruin the story when they are 14/15 years old. I don't think many people stay with their first loves, especially if they start dating as teenagers. Then would you guys say that your first relationship was meaningless? Every social encounter, especially romantic relationships, are meaningful because they change us in many ways. We always learn from our experiences. Although, if they end up together, that's also good because some people only date once and stay with them for the rest of their lives, it's not impossible, and those people are lucky. I'm just saying for me a bittersweet ending wouldn't cheapen the story. And I don't understand why it would be a copy of 25 21 when ASLFUA was published before that tv series and likely had its ending planned out by that time.

Last of all, every one of us is entitled to our own opinion, I always ephasize that my theories might be totally wrong, they are theories for a reason. I never try to force my opinions on others, that's why I would happy if even if you share my posts, you wouldn't attack me because we have different theories or interpretations about the series. I won't take down my posts because I have very kind readers who might want to read them again, but I wanted to clarify my stance on this whole issue.

Like… whoever they are searched up “smear campaign” and “defensiveness” and then reblogged the first thing that seemed to support her.

I wanted to actually go over these points and reflect on the orchardsphere and the actual allegations to see if any of this fits.

Disclaimer: gonna be talking about stuff like grooming, S/A, etc. please be aware I am a third party and have no affiliations to any of the parties involved, this is both a thought exercise and my own 1.5 cents. I will admit I believe Courtney way more than I do Lily in this case so if you are someone who supports Lily, you can disregard this post if you so please. Or comment any rebuttals, I don’t mind.

I’m not trying to refute it at all, in fact I think this is a great resource to recognize when you are caught up or being the target of a smear campaign. I’m just going to be going over each point and seeing if this actually is a smear campaign like Lily says it to be.

• Victims's "crimes" will be enlarged, and even if they're small missteps, they will be treated as if only the worst person on the planet would do such a thing

Okay so said “crimes” Lily is being accused of are Rape, Child Grooming, Sexual Harassment, etc…. None of these are small missteps. Hell, these are some of the things only the worst person on the planet would do. Now, if we’re talking about when someone on tumblr will take a screenshot of Lily having a bad take on a show or media and turning to into “oh she must be __ist because ___” then yes, this could be considered enlarging missteps. However, these were before Courtney’s allegations, Lily has been saying stuff that people took problems with for years. This is also ignoring when Lily would in fact say actual troubling stuff. I also will talk about why people having a problem with what you say about media matters in a later point.

• Accusations against the victim will always be a reach, aka, they did 'this little thing' but it actually means they're a racist/murderer/genocide supporter/fascist/have blood on their hands, even when the person's actions never conformed to those crimes

Again… the accusations was that Lily raped her sister. Not a little thing. And it wasn’t gleaned from unfortunately worded tumblr answers, no. It was from the victim’s testimony from her sister. Not a little thing. Now, about the actual little things people base their view on Lily (Namely opinions on media, stories she’s written and art she had her wife drawn), notice the last sentence. even when the person's actions never conformed to those crimes.

I’ll be frank, people have been accusing Lily of being many things over the years but the one thing I’ve noticed to be a constant is incest. She’s written stories of it, replied to asks about it being sly, the entire baldurs gate mod thing and damn she can’t stop talking about the coffin of Andrew and leyley. These get suddenly more serious when an actual testimony of incest comes out.

Like it or not, what you put out on the internet will determine your character. Yes, I’m of the people who think that what you consume and like in media does not inherently translate into what you like and do in person. However at the same time, people have the right to block you, avoid you, even hate you for what you put out into the internet. Your posts altogether will paint a character of who you are.

Also Lily straight up admitted to writing stolkhom in a recent stream so people accusing her of at least writing pedophilia was right and she literally did “conform to the crime”-

• All and any actions of the victims will be misenterpreted in the worst possible way, anything the person does will be taken as an offense and intentions will be read as hostile and manipulative, regardless of how clear they are

This sorta ties in with the previous point- People do overanalyze any and every of Lily’s posts. However I’d like to point out that Lily prides herself in being hostile. In answers, in comments, in videos, her literal cadence of speaking is almost always yelling or talking like a sarcastic wine mom who’s one step away from slapping you. Her typing quirk is swears (I forgot a homestuck tw sorry). This sort of constant aggression will taint how people view your arguments for anything because surprise surprise it makes people defensive when you come at them offensively.

Sorry to bring this up again but wow, we totally twisted Lily writing stolkhom in the worst possible way you guys!

• All victim's actions will be taken out of context; ie, victim said something cruel to someone, but they take out the context of the victim being abused, threatened, tortured, forced into defense mode and finally attacking out of desperation to defend themselves and get free

I’d like to briefly point out that this could be said about Courtney too? For instance, in Lily’s video she does not show us the time or date for Courtney’s posts. Not for the reactions to Lily’s post about cuddling with Courtney, not for Courtney’s “golden child” rant (it says two months ago but that doesn’t help. When was this screenshot taken??), not for the fucking gotcha screenshot of Courtney reaching out on deviant art.

Meanwhile for Lily… were you forced to write stolkhom? Were you trapped into saying anything on your tumblr, an account you had full control over?

• The victim will commonly get provoked into giving a bad reaction, (anyone gets defensive if they're accused of the crimes they never did, or simply triggering insults until they snap), and the reaction will become the new 'proof' that the victim is in fact, evil and guilty

Now I admit, this is one of the more stronger points. After all, I am posting about her bad reaction of a sock puppet account. However I’d like to point out that choosing to have your wife draw your supposed rapist as the less incestuous sibling of a video game is the least common “provoked reaction” to exist. It’s not even degrading Courtney, you’re projecting them onto a character of a video game you like. He’s drawn cutely and if it wasn’t for the leyley comments, people would just assume you deadass drew fanart. How does someone provoke you to draw fanart of your abuser?

• A lot of pressure will be put on you to react 'correctly' to the smear campaign; if you don't accept to demonize this person at once, you're getting scrutinized, shamed for your lack of morality, told that you support all these horrid things and that you are just as despicable

…who’s the one with the sock/fan calling anyone who believes Courtney are rapists? Who’s the one calling any allegation against her as transphobic? Who’s the one with fans who are calling people everything under the sun? Most Lily dissenting blogs I see clarify in big ugly text DONT HARASS OR INTERACT WITH LILY.

Hell, I personally don’t blame people for believing Lily. It’s a tricky situation with many moving parts and people will have an emotional reaction to a very serious matter that affects a lot of us. I am a survivor of SA and grooming myself, I have emotional stakes in this despite not being involved at all. So does a lot of people on either side.

• You will notice a trend of people ganging together based on their demonization of the victim; they will set a standard where you're accepted and welcome if only you also will demonize and hate this person, and if you don't, you're blocked, cast out, and accused of causing harm

Do tumblr blog accounts count?? Like this isn’t a discord server where it’s a contained space. I’m not seeing any people begging to be part of the Lily takedown gang, just people posting their own stuff and interacting with others. Now if you’re talking about being blocked, cast out, accused of harm… damn Lily, your YouTube comments be looking oddly clean.

• It will feel very easy to accept to demonize this person, and going against it will feel risky, like going against the grain, doubting the word of the many and risking being demonized yourself.

Again, who’s got someone’s alt out here calling everyone rapists, retards and reeeeing? Is that really going against the grain? You also have people accusing anyone not supporting Lily as transphobic. Isn’t it risking being demonized if you don’t support her? Isn’t it risky to be against Lily if you’re going to be called a rapist?

• The smear campaign continues all the way until the victim is chased out of the community and denied a voice, even if the victim commits no further crimes, awful things will be said about them, their past 'misdeeds' continually brought up, until the victim is commonly believed to be worthless, and becomes completely isolated, scared of society and alone

Lily has a voice- her biggest platform of YouTube. Where she gets to silence anyone she wants on there. It still isn’t clear whether tumblr staff nuked her tumblr account or she did herself but if it’s the case of staff… unless you think staff is directly feeding into this “smear campaign”, why would they delete her blogs without reason? If it was herself, this could hold more credence. However this would be more dependent on whether she nuked her blog before or after Courtney’s accusations. If after, it would be a direct reaction to the accusations, not a smear campaign of the general tumblr masses. If it was before… then it wouldn’t be Courtney conducting a smear campaign since it would be lily finally breaking from the years of tumblr abuse. So which is it? Is it a smear campaign Courtney started before they ever posted their video or is it because of their video and now a smear campaign against a blog that no longer exists?

I could probably word it better but my fingers hurt-

• There will be no limit to what is considered okay to do to the victim of a smear campaign; even if the victim is accused of minor bad behaviour, it will become okay to threaten, insult, shout slurs, trigger, provoke, humiliate, manipulate, and repeat any kind of abusive behaviour to the victim, all because 'they're bad so they deserve it'.

Again, I have not seen any lily centric blogs without ‘don’t harass lily’. That’s a limit. I have not seen anyone calling her slurs that wasn’t disapproved of themselves. That’s a limit. I see blogs like 246bits here using retard. Thanks for using a slur. Oh and reblogging multiple people’s posts to insult them totally isn’t harassment.

• It will never, ever be acceptable to show any mercy to the victim. Forgiveness is out of the question, trying to understand them is out of the question. Even reading or listening to what this person is saying will be banned and forbidden, unless it's for humiliating purposes. They will be shown as absolutely irredeemable, and associating yourself with them as evil and unforgivable. You will be instructed to block or unfollow or report the person based on what you're told, without any significant proof.

Imma be real, I kinda do understand Lily. There are aspects of her reactions, her reasonings, etc that resonates with me. Probably the reason why I was a fan of hers. I have no doubt that she was abused as a kid. Both of the orchard sisters have stated how growing up was shit and how they both describe their parents brings back my own traumas and memories of my childhood.

I don’t see much people saying anything about that aspect of the allegations… probably because you can’t really prove or disprove that. This happened years ago, between fucked up siblings in a fucked up family. There is no hard evidence since kids don’t really think to document abuse so there’s nothing really for anyone to prove or disprove. Is it really even anyone’s place to?

That is a sort of criticism I have to people who don’t support Lily, the automatic calling her portrayal of her own childhood as a lie. No one can prove or disprove that, really. And that’s why a lot of rape victims go without justice. The evidence for this real life horrible thing that happened to you just… doesn’t exist. It’s sad. It’s painful.

…in that same vein, you cannot prove or disprove Courtney’s portrayal of his own childhood. You cannot say “no one went to jail for it thus it never happened”. Otherwise why isn’t Courtney in jail? Why isn’t Lily’s other abusers in jail?

The testimony is in itself not enough. What’s left is either cold hard evidence or character.

What does exist however is what we can document. Your adult life. Your life online. What you say to people. So, uh… in “theory”, what the heck does one do if they find their posts (and the posts of others) reposted onto another website? And it’s not just a case of a popular post getting screenshotted and breaking containment on Pinterest or something, these are outright the pictures you yourself posted, usually with the captions you yourself wrote, put up by someone else on Instagram as if they were theirs with absolutely no credit to the people who originally made them.

I’ve been sitting on this for about a month feeling like I’m losing my mind and not quite being able to tell whether I’m overreacting or not, but it’s all been incredibly bizarre. I happened upon this person completely by coincidence — I got a Classic Who post recommended to me, then checked out the person it came from because I’m always happy to find another Classic Who page to follow (and because their url is even lifted from a tumblr user, I thought it may have been them at first so I was curious), and lo and behold as I scroll down their stuff I find myself looking at… me. Repeatedly. Like, a rather surprising amount of my own posts. Then I noticed there was quite a bit of @junkyardbluebox as well (whose url is the one being used), and a fair few @unwillingadventurer, along with other posts that I’ve seen before but couldn’t tell you who made them.

I commented on one of the posts that was my own, saying that some of these were mine and that I recognized others, and calmly asked out of curiosity why the reposting without credit to any of us. I don’t remember my exact wording anymore but it was very polite, like “can I please ask” levels of polite, nothing that should have come across as being judgmental or upset, because for all I knew maybe this person just genuinely didn’t understand that it’s generally frowned upon to repost other people’s things as your own and I didn’t want to be rude at all. I wish I had taken a screenshot, but I wasn’t exactly anticipating that they would straight up delete my comment.

Since then there’s been a strange rollercoaster of this person adding a bunch of new posts as if to bury the stolen ones, then proceeding to repost our stuff again anyway, then hiding and unhiding and rehiding so, so many of their posts over and over (and in the words of another thing I keep seeing on Instagram lately — I wasn’t aware that was something a person could do), like they can’t decide what they want their page to look like.

Every time the stolen posts got hidden I would think maybe they’ve decided against taking other people’s things and I could leave it alone, but they’d inevitably come back, and there continue to be more new posts taken from Classic Who fandom tumblr users. I drew a line when I saw that they had begun posting screen recordings of gifsets made by @stephadoo and decided to try saying something again, this time making sure I had evidence, which is good because this got deleted, too:

I feel like I bordered into being rude here (probably not, but I felt like it, anyway), but it was one thing to repost pictures that aren’t technically mine because they’re episode screencaps and another to repost gifs that someone actually worked on making themselves. They did end up deleting the gifs (unless they’re just hidden like everything else keeps being, which is always a possibility), but plenty of other stuff is still there — at one point there had been more junkyardbluebox than anyone else, but at the current moment most of those are deleted or hidden, so as I write this most of the copied posts, at least the ones that I recognize, are mine — and they actually reposted a few more of my things immediately after deleting this comment. Everything remains creditless.

Again, part of me feels like I’m completely overreacting to this, but it is weird as heck to see your own posts on somebody else’s page as if they made them, many of them still with your own specific captions — my favorite being some rather detailed thoughts on One and Katarina while watching The Daleks' Master Plan, presented as if those were their thoughts while watching it, and I’m sitting here like

This is one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me and I genuinely have no idea what to do about this, if anything at all (if nothing else I want to get this craziness out of my system!). I don’t want this person to get dog-piled or bullied, but I also think people should know their things are being posted on another platform as someone else’s without any credit — and more than that, by deleting my comments about it it gives the impression that this person doesn’t want evidence to exist that these posts are not theirs, and they deliberately choose to continue not giving credit after being politely asked twice.

For the sake of providing evidence in case these things get hidden again, screenshots of my stuff below…

7. What is your deepest joy about writing? I just... man. I just fucking love it. I love being able to take what's in my brain and put it down in a (semi) coherent manner. Because what happens in my brain and what comes out of of my mouth is a very twisted game of telephone. But being able to finally get it out brings me so much joy. And people responding to it! There are times where I've literally screenshot comments. I have an album on my phone for comments that always make me smile, especially when things get hard and it doesn't make sense to me anymore.

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you? I'll say this. I went through my ao3 history and my most-visited fic right now is @thirteenyasmin/explosivesky's is at the top of my list. I am, you could say, haunted by how good that fic is. I think it was my first introduction to the 'Switzerland Era but make it they-get-together' vein of WN fic. It was just too good. The bar was set rather high. As for myself, I don't know that a fic has ever haunted me, or lingered with me long I've put it down. Maybe the last prompt fic I filled, where Bea has a panic attack? I dreamed that one up for something else, but it just didn't feel ready. So I guess, in a sense, it haunted me until I did something with it. And I still think about it now.

No, my entire writing adventures exist within the four walls of my living room, with my dog pressed into one side and small hands constantly asking me to fix this Barbie's outfit or unstick two Lego pieces. I have a sectional couch, deep and gray and a hole in one place where the dog's nails caught, and I sit at one end, pressed up against the arm rest that's slightly dented from the time my son stepped on it to turn the lamp on above it. There's a side table where I keep my things: my She-Ra and He-Man coasters, my ever-cooling coffee, a set of headphones for when things get too noisy, a collection of artwork my daughter draws for me. The sliding table, the one that tucks under the couch so I don't have to stretch forward, has a slightly-bent frame - I once got tangled in a blanket trying to get up and took it down with me, re-shaping the metal of it with the help of the solid wood coffee table. The edge of it is where they've glued a flexible trim to it is cracked at the seam. It's taken a beaten, but still stands well enough that I use it for hours a day. The walls are painted forest green. I came home one day to find everything was pushed to the center of the room and my wife had painted smeared across her cheek. My wife's art hangs on them, along with a picture of my grandparents on their wedding day and her grandparents at their senior prom. We have a faux fireplace, leftover by the last owner, and my wife decorates the mantle for every season. Do you know the Target birds? We have them all. It's not an office or a room just for me, but that'll happen when it's supposed to. And for now, I'll hope the couch lasts a few more years.

well, it finally happened.

i got my first hate comment from one of my former friends, who wasn't even really my friend at all, we just had a mutual friend. she of course brought up a situation from nearly three years ago so it's good to know she's hated me all along, just as much as i hated her.

and to top it all off, i blocked her but she somehow has access to my private twitter account and sent me screenshots of a post i made concerning the situation and accused me off saying i could out my former friend bc i had insider knowledge. i would never do that bc i know the pain of being outed, bc she herself outed me to all our friends years ago and made it some big whoopsy joke. i have plenty of other ammuniation to use against her, such as her and her brother's heavy drug use, or her engaging in lots of premarital sex which her parents would hate. she's very financially dependent on them in a way im not and telling them anything would ruin her life. but i wouldn't do that bc i'm trying, of i'm trying, to be the bigger person. it's hard.

how can i be the delusional, obsessed one when their tracking and stalking ME on social media? sending me hate and directly mentioning me online? she clearly has told them a made up version of what happened if this is the reaction. i can be content in knowing i was right and i did the right thing. there is no coming back from this and that makes me sad. and the fact that they constantly talk shit about each other to one another and still want to be friends makes me laugh. as long as they can laugh at me privately in their hateful groupchat, i'm good. hate me, love me, i don't really care.

Art proof is essential when it comes to posting art around here. This is to verify that you had drawn the art. Whether it’s obviously yours or not, most of everyone must abide by this rule.

If you find yourself wondering as to how you should provide art proof, this should be of help! I’ll be explaining and showcasing ways proof is shown!

Before we start just know that:

•You don’t need to provide proof if you have the “verified artist” title!

•If your art has been featured approximately 5 times, you can send in the links of those featured posts to the leader (TB) and claim the “verified artist” title!

•You’re only required to show ONE proof per piece! (if you add more than one, that’s perfectly fine)

•Everything you draw requires art proof. Even if it’s a sketch/doodle.

•While this is optional, we highly recommend you adding your signature/watermark onto your proofs to avoid it from being stolen.

It isn’t. Reason being that anyone could take any artwork that doesn’t have a signature/watermark and place their own onto it. There’s some who even photo edit artworks with signatures/watermarks and completely remove it. Due to this, we have concluded that it’s not a viable enough proof.

However, we still do recommend placing a signature/watermark just to decrease the chances of your work being stolen.

”Isn’t it obviously my artwork?”

It’s not a matter of what’s obvious. It’s a matter of following by the guidelines like everyone else. If you’re not verified or certified, you need to provide art proof whether it’s obvious or not.

After some discussion, we decided to add this exception.

For our members who don’t have the “verified artist” title, this is a certification that enables you to post anything ask blog related without having to provide proof.

But in order to be certified for this exception…

•You must have provided art proofs for three answers drawn in response to questions asked in this Amino

•Have a recognizable/consistent art style

One of our staff members will notify you if you’re certified for this exception. Keep in mind that if we catch you tracing/heavily referencing another’s work and portraying it as your own efforts… your certification will be revoked. Also note that… If the art isn’t in correspondence of answering questions, it will require art proof. If you want to be completely proof free, you must get the “verified artist” title.

If you do happen to drastically change your art style or answer questions from other platforms, you’re not in trouble for it. These are just requirements if you want to be certified for the exception. Remember that the Ask Blog exception is completely optional.

tommy's character gets far too much shit.

hi tumblr. i'm gonna need a few bitches to spread this post everywhere, essentially because i want someone, or just tommy really, to see it. so if you really want, you can screenshot it and post it on twitter, reddit, link it everywhere - go absolutely buck wild. i know he reads the VODS comments a lot, but they're chock full of people just insulting him, his character, his writing and everything about his story in the dream smp simply because they don't understand it and because they refuse to acknowledge his character's perspective (mainly because they only care about the pig). reading that many critical comments on something you've created can only make you feel worse about it eventually, and in light of all the awful techno apologist takes on his character, i wanted to basically just word vomit about how wonderfully crafted c!tommy is, as well as compile some other tumblr posts about his character.

there is a massive fuckin community of people who enjoy the character of tommy, because the character is incredible. i myself have made post after post after post commenting on and analysing tommy's character because i find that there's so much to pick apart. but that enthusiasm for his character only seems to be found on tumblr. reddit and twitter seem to hate his character, the VODS seem to be filled with comments from people who only care about techno's perspective (and treat techno as a reliable narrator, which, is the furthest thing from the truth - that guy lies through his teeth all the time), and the smp wiki is a hellscape of godawful takes and mistruths, not even on just tommy's character.

c!tommy is brilliantly acted and brilliantly written, and almost everything he does is either justifiable or has been rectified or admitted as a mistake. you can clearly make connections as to where he got his conclusions from. you feel what his character experiences, as a member of the audience, vividly.

if you look in the more objective sense, c!tommy, and this is especially in the context of him being the youngest character, is a scapegoat. people claim he's awful and destructive when in reality he's a lot less destructive than most characters on the server. a moment that comes to mind is where he diverts schlatt and quackity's attention from pogtopia by breaking part of the flag in manberg, and then replacing it so as to buy tubbo some time - he literally monologues after it about how he doesn't want to destroy but instead rebuild, and how he feels as if nobody else seems to understand that.

his arc in season two was incredible. it was very character driven, and it gave a spotlight to his motivations. at the start we see him in new l'manberg, and he's enjoying his time there, he's skeptical of his friend's presidency, but his main goal is to get back the discs so that he can stop dream and eliminate that threat. he made one screw up that didn't even matter to george, and he paid for it tenfold, even after dream had spent a while with puffy griefing the server and framing it on tommy - what tommy and ranboo did was convinient. then, in exile, we see c!tommy straight up get abused. he's gaslit and conditioned into being c!dream's friend, and in his brain he teaches himself that those acts of abuse are moments of bonding, and it eventually brings him to the point of wanting to end his own life - he's been torn away from his friends and his support system, and nobody will visit him consistently anymore because they only showed him pity, and all he had left was dream, who had hurt him.

but he doesn't die there, because while he didn't understand the full gravity of it back then like he does now, he recognises that dying isn't an escape, and he can beat dream, even if he doesn't know how. so this is where he goes to techno's place, and here's where the fandom starts to misinterpret the situation wildly.

it's the problem similar to when your parents tell you that they're owed something back because you put a roof over their head, despite that being Not How It Works. techno took tommy in and severely mistreated him emotionally. sure, and i understand this, c!techno is a bad communicator who isn't really that empathetic to anyone who isn't phil or wilbur, but that doesn't excuse the blatant lying to c!tommy's face, the guilt tripping, the friendship buying and the degrading. the day before the festival, tommy finally does something violent in his interrogation of fundy, and only then does techno tell him,,,,

that tommy's not equal to him, that techno doesn't respect him all that much, and that they're not friends.

from techno's perspective, and at the time, this was viewed as a positive development in their relationship. oh, he's starting to warm up to tommy! this friendship could really blossom!

no. from a more objective standpoint, what techno has just said to tommy is : 'i respect you only a little bit more now, because while you're starting to act more like me, you're still annoying and a burden.'

and i haven't even touched on the whole 'erasing the words 'Destroy L'manberg' from techno's to-do list' thing, because that instantly refutes the point of 'techno was upfront with his intentions the whole time' - because he wasn't! he may have said it the first time, but you also know what else he did? he repeatedly told tommy that they'd 'air the details out later' whenever the discs were brought up, and from a tommy viewer's perspective at the time, it was framed as if techno was no longer going to do that.

and i also haven't dared touch the 'i would have fought them all for you', because that's major guilt tripping if ever i've seen it.

so, the day of the festival comes, and here's where c!techno and his apologists completely misread c!tommy's thought process, and why he makes the decision he does.

tommy instantly regrets valuing the discs over tubbo, and it's framed as the culmination of tommy having become all the people he said he would never want to be like. and what does he immediately do? he tells tubbo to give up the disc, and he sides with tubbo. he puts his value in his friends, and, by proxy, l'manberg. and when he betrays techno, he tells him 'i'm sorry'.

from a more objective standpoint, tommy's time with techno is him valuing the discs over almost anything else. so, in leaving techno to be with tubbo again, he is valuing people above the discs. so when, on doomsday, techno says his 'discs aren't people' line, what he doesn't realise is that he himself fueled tommy's valuing of discs above people when attempting to fuel tommy's vengeance against tubbo and l'manberg. techno doesn't realise that he was an unhealthy presence for tommy, and an even worse influence.

what techno also doesn't seem to understand is that tommy never hated tubbo or l'manberg - tommy recognises, now at least, that his exile wasn't a product of tubbo, but a product of dream's manipulation, likely in part because at the time, especially with dream lying about tommy blowing up the community house, tommy was the only one who could see it because he had experienced it firsthand. so when techno sides with dream, it's like kicking tommy in the teeth.

and i want to mention that betraying someone doesn't necessarily make the person who was betrayed good, or in the right, or even justified, because tommy was entirely justified to leave techno. you know who else was betrayed? schlatt. but i don't see many schlatt apologists around angry at quackity for joining the rebellion.

tommy stole the axe of peace? good. it was a moment of tommy defining his self-worth, instead of having it defined by others. gone is the age of c!techno belittling him and deciding how much c!tommy should be respected. NEXT!

here's a moment i wanted to talk about that will forever be funny to me.

'i am a person.'

techno's very famous line from doomsday. techno says to tommy that discs aren't people, and that tommy should value people, despite not understanding that by leaving techno, he did just that. and what does tommy say in return, which has been omitted from every c!tommy-critical analysis, and every animatic?

'yes you are, but so are we.'

an acknowledgement of techno's hurt, to which tommy has already apologised for. a statement that says 'your hurt does not excuse, nor justify, the hurt you have inflicted onto us.' an acknowledgement that tommy has already learnt the lesson techno seems to be trying to 'teach' him. but you can't teach him anything by destroying.

c!tommy has had almost everything he has ever owned or built either taken from him or destroyed. ranboo even points out that the only two things of tommy's left standing are his house and his hotel, and if i'm honest, his house is dissheveled. it's a labyrinth of terror due only to how many times it's been torn apart. l'manberg being blown up didn't teach anyone anything about anarchy, or about valuing people over possessions. logstedshire being blown up didn't teach tommy to be obedient.

i could honestly ramble for ages about how nuanced tommy's character is and how much depth and complexity there is to his character's process and his relationship with others, but more than that, c!tommy is forgiving. he invites almost everyone who hates him to the grand opening of his hotel - if that isn't an indicator that he just wants friends, and not to be treated like the embodiment of evil, then i don't know what is. he holds grudges, but he doesn't really actively hate anyone, other than c!dream. but, we'll let him. c!dream deserves nothing but to be pummeled into the floor.

tommy doesn't spoonfeed his character nuance, and he doesn't really spell it out for his audience. he'll mention things like trauma and triggers in passing, but a lot of analysis on his motivations has to be picked up from what is said in passing or from what can be seen in between the lines.

i'd be here for hours if i were to talk about everything i love about c!tommy, because honestly he's one of my favourite characters, and there are so many angles you can look at his character from in terms of his age, his relationships with others, his motivations, his personality, his character arcs etc etc. so instead of doing that, i'm going to compile some much more specific analysis posts below to skim through because they highlight so many good aspects of his character.
