Red
✧ Pairing: Hunter x human!reader ✧
✧ Content/warnings: Soulmate AU, takes place during season 3, use of the word ‘damn’ once, the title is bland and I’m sorry, Hunter and the reader are both dorks, first post on here!! ✧
Tumblr media
The “rules” for soulmates, as it were, were pretty straightforward. You see everything in the color of your soulmates eyes. Once you make eye contact with them you can see in full, proper colors. Seems simple enough, doesn’t it? Well, not for you, it wasn’t.
You, for the past sixteen or so years of your life, had been seeing nothing but red. Different shades, thank god, but red nonetheless. And to be frank, you were getting pretty damn fed up with it. The thing is that no one naturally has red eyes. And you would know; you’ve googled it maybe a thousand times already.
So you were fairly certain you didn’t have a soulmate, and this was all some cruel joke from the universe. But life marches on, so there’s no time to dwell on that, is there?
───── ───── ───── ─────
Another day at Gravesfield’s high school, bland as ever. At least until you caught a glance at your friend Luz. Rather, former friend. She’d been acting weird ever since she came back from that ‘reality check’ camp. And not standard Luz weird, no— she’d been avoiding you since then. Acting like she didn’t know you at all whenever you approached her, not to mention her sudden lack of interest in anything she used to like. The Good Witch Azura books, most notably.
So, needless to say, you were a bit surprised at her new look. Curly hair, a new scar over her eyebrow, and a general air of seasonal depression about her. Even though your recent interactions hadn’t gone so smoothly, you couldn’t help but ask. You were still allowed to care about her.
“Luz?” You called out from down the school hallway. She turned her head in your direction, and you could practically see the stars in her eyes when she saw you. She ran towards you, almost tackling you in a hug. Stumbling backwards, you hesitantly returned the gesture. “Good to see you too?” You awkwardly pat her back, unsure of what to do at the moment.
“Y/N, I am so glad to see you! Oh, you have no idea how much I’ve missed you.” She backed away and wiped a small tear from her eye.
“We saw each other yesterday, though?” You chuckled, still perplexed by this whole situation. “Seriously, what’s going on? You’re kinda acting like you just came back from war right now.” Her face fell slightly, but her smile quickly returned.
“Meet me at my house once school’s done, ok? I have… a lot to tell you.” You nodded, and watched her just walk away casually after that interaction.
“Cool. Good talk, I guess?”
───── ───── ───── ─────
“So, if I’m following,” You began, now in the Noceda family’s living room. “You didn’t go to summer camp, but instead spent several months in a fantasy world, and the Luz I’ve been interacting with is actually a shape-shifting basilisk.” You pointed to Vee, who nodded shyly. “And in this fantasy world you became a witch, made a bunch of new friends, and got a girlfriend.” You left out the details involving Belos and the Collector, deciding that you didn’t need to recap whatever nonsense was going on there.
“Yeah, actually. You’re handling this surprisingly well.” Luz noted.
“I think I’m still in shock, to be honest.” You laugh a bit in disbelief. You couldn’t begin to comprehend what she’d been through during those months, and you kind of didn’t want to. “So, more importantly, do I get to meet these new people?” You questioned, and her face brightened.
“Of course! They’re upstairs, so let me go get them and I’ll be right back.” You waited downstairs with Vee, exchanging basic small talk. She apologized for the whole ‘impersonating one of your few friends’ thing, which was nice of her. Eventually Luz came back, new friends and girlfriend following behind her.
“Alright! Everyone this is Y/N.” You gave a polite wave, quickly scanning over the group. “Y/N, this is Willow, Gus, Amity, and Hunter.” You got a proper look at all of them as she said their names, your eyes landing on the blond last. Wait a minute, blond?!
As it would turn out, when you made eye contact with Hunter you could suddenly see a lot more colors. He clearly noticed this as well, as a light blush was present on his cheeks and ears. You could feel some heat rise to your own face as well.
“Y/N, is everything okay?” Luz asked, noticing your stunned silence.
“I, uh…” you stumbled over your words like an idiot, still staring at him. Saving what little dignity you had left, your phone dinged from your pocket. Checking the notification, you gave an awkward smile and held it up to the group. “Oh! You know what, that’s my dad. He probably wants me home for dinner!” You put your phone back in your pocket, and began approaching the door. “I’ll see you guys later, okay, bye!”
You got the words out as quickly as you could, and bolted as soon as the door was open. You ran back to your house, face still flushed from embarrassment and being generally flustered, leaving a room full of witches (and one human) awfully confused.
“Hunter, what was that about?” Willow asked, as he still stared at the spot where you once were.
“Um- good question.”
───── ───── ───── ─────
Later that day, Hunter knocked on the door to Luz’s bedroom.
“Come in.” She said idly, distracted by whatever she had been playing on her Switch. He entered her room, hands anxiously fidgeting at his sides. There wasn’t a particularly easy way to say this, so he just bit the bullet.
“So, you know the whole thing with your soulmate, and how you’ll only see in their eye color until you make eye contact?”
“Yeah?” She encouraged, curiosity evident in her tone.
“Well, it’s possible that maybe, perhaps, Y/Nismysoulmate.”
“What?!” She immediately paused her game, and whipped around to face him. “Really?! Tell me everything!” She sat on the ground and patted the spot next to her, encouraging him to sit down. He did so, face red from having to explain the whole ordeal.
“There’s nothing to tell! I used to only see e/c, I looked at them, now I can see every color, and they— I always thought your hair was black, by the way— and they just ran away!” As Luz sat and processed this information, Hunter continued thinking out loud. “Did they not like me or something? Is it because I’m from the Boiling Isles?” He questioned, grabbing the pointed tips of his ears. Cutting his rambling short, Luz spoke up.
“No, I don’t think so. They were always interested in fantasy like I was. Maybe they were just a bit overwhelmed?” She suggested. He sighed.
“I guess that could have been it.” He said, though the anxiety was still clear on his face.
“Hey, how about I try to get them to come over this weekend? You guys can talk about it then.” He nodded, and watched her grab her phone to message you. Titan, he hoped she was right about this.
───── ───── ───── ─────
A few days had gone by since the whole incident with Hunter. You had been avoiding him since then, though you honestly weren’t sure why. If you had to, though, you’d say it was probably out of shock. I mean, you were convinced you didn’t have a soulmate for years. And now this incredibly good-looking boy comes in from another realm, and he’s supposedly perfect for you? It’s absurd!
Though it was also worry. How would a relationship between the two of you even work out? He’d have to go home eventually, and you probably couldn’t come with him. Maybe he wouldn’t even like you after the way you left the other day, and he’d reject you before you even had a chance. That’d put a quick and easy end to all this.
You’d been really sick of the color red these past couple days. You usually were, but now it was for an entirely different reason.
Though you couldn’t avoid your problems forever, despite your best efforts. Luz had invited you over for a board game night to celebrate the two of you reuniting. And, well… who were you to say no?
───── ───── ───── ─────
The day finally came, and it had been going relatively well so far. No one else seemed to know what had happened or why you left that first time you came over. Though you and Hunter had been carefully dancing around each other the whole time. It seemed neither of you were equipped to talk about your feelings at the moment. But were you really ever?
Eventually you saw him slip out the front door. With a sigh, you decided to finally face the problem. No use in stalling any more than you already have. After telling Luz that you were going outside for a moment, you stepped out and saw Hunter sitting on the steps leading to the front door. He turned around at the noise, and immediately turned back the other way when he saw it was you. Wordlessly, you sat down next to him. After a moment, he finally broke the silence.
“You look really nice.” You glanced at him, and saw the pink dusting his face. You smiled at the way his blush would spill out onto his ears.
“Thanks, but I’m not really wearing anything special.”
“I know,” He continued, finally meeting your eyes. “I just mean, like- you look nice. You’re really cute.”
“Oh.” You said, quite simply, now blushing a bit as well. You looked at the ground beneath you, pondering how exactly to go about this. “So, this whole ‘soulmate’ thing, huh?”
“Yeah.” Was all he managed. His hands toyed with his pants, still a bit nervous about this whole ordeal. Unable to find the words he wanted, Hunter just looked out at the surrounding neighborhood for a bit. Eventually, though, he said the one thing that was on his mind at the moment. “So… what do we do now?”
“Well, if I may suggest something scandalous?” His blush deepened at your words, but quickly faded as he watched you intertwine your hand with his own.
“Wow, and we’re not even married yet.” He joked. You put your free hand up defensively.
“I know, I know! What can I say, I like to live on the edge.” He laughed, and you silently basked in the sound. You set your eyes on the sky above you, a handful of stars already visible in the late evening’s light. Maybe red isn’t half bad after all.

Could you do something with some nice Luz and Hunter sibling fluff (I watched the last 2 episodes of toh and I’m so sad)
They're siblings, your honour 💕
Tumblr media
"You have fire bees here!?"
"No, fire flies. And they don't set anything on fire," Luz said with a laugh. Hunter didn't look reassured. Well, she couldn't blame him; most flora and fauna in the Boiling Isles wanted you dead- or at least wanted to take a bite out of you. All the normal, non-deadly surroundings of the Human Realm utterly baffled her friends.
"I'll show you," Luz promised.
"She's telling the truth," Vee piped up. "They're actually pretty cute."
It was the perfect time of year for fire flies. When Vee told her she'd gathered the courage for a closer look a few weeks back, it gave Luz an idea: fire fly catching! A nice, quiet activity for them all to do together.
Sure enough, once it was dark out, Luz could see the little balls of light bobbing around in the garden. She gathered an armful of jars and her friends, leading them outside.
"I don't know..." Hunter hung back, looking at the bugs warily from the back porch.
"Come on, when have I ever led your astray?" Luz teased. Hunter only raised an eyebrow.
Fair enough.
"Come on," Luz repeated, holding her hand out. A few feet away, Gus was cowering as Vee happily let a fire fly land on her hand. Willow was chasing the bugs with a little too much enthusiasm and Amity seemed enthralled by them all. One even landed in her hair.
Hunter looked at their friends and took Luz's hand. Sometimes it was still odd to hold his hand without his gloves in the way.
"So we just...Catch them in a jar?" Hunter asked. He turned the jar over in his hands, as if looking for a trick.
"Yep, pretty much," Luz confirmed. "And then we let them go. But while they're in there we get a closer look and they're like little nightlights."
Hunter seemed intrigued by that. He looked at Gus, hiding behind Vee, and Willow who was scaring a few bugs away with her wild swinging.
"I, uh...I shouldn't do that, right?" he asked.
"Absolutely not. I'll show you."
With Luz's guidance, they soon had a jar full of fire flies. The little bugs glowed softly, gently flashing on and off, twinkling like stars.
"Whoa..." Hunter held the jar up close to his eyes, closely examining every little fire fly.
"They're cute, right?" Luz asked, nudging him. He nodded, not looking away, hardly even blinking.
Wolves were his clear favourite, but Luz could confidently say that fire flies had successfully won Hunter over too.
Another idea sprung to mind and she smiled. Hunter didn't like the dark, she knew that, but he insisted on powering through it. He utterly refused to leave the basement light on, insisting he didn't want to keep Gus awake with the harsh light. But maybe...
"Remind me to show you some fairy lights," she said and Hunter's head jerked towards her so quickly she thought she heard something snap.
"Fairy what?"
"They're not made from actual fairies!"
"Then why are they called that!?"
"Because-" Huh, Luz had never thought about it actually. "Because they remind people of fairies." Yeah, that sounded right.
She kind of wanted to slap that judgemental look off his face. He was lucky she was feeling so nice.
"People expect fairies to be cute here," she reminded him. Still plainly baffled, Hunter went back to staring at their jar of fire flies.
"I'll show you," she promised. "I think you'll like them."
She wasn't even sure if Hunter was still listening, but after a moment he nodded. "Okay," he said quietly.
Luz's smile grew. Hey, if Hunter was going to be staying here when this was all done, they'd need to make sure the basement was an actual comfortable bedroom for him.
Steady on there, Noceda, Luz reminded herself. But she knew her mamá had been thinking about it. Luz had been thinking about it. Even Vee, who'd been so nervous of Hunter at first, quietly asked her who'd be taking care of him when The Collector was gone, and she'd looked so worried when Luz had been forced to admit that she didn't know.
Belos had been his only family- no, screw that, Belos didn't count. Belos didn't deserve Hunter. They had their own little found family and Hunter was part of that now.
They'd have to discuss it all at some point, but not tonight. Tonight was peaceful and Luz refused to spoil it.
But she'd show Hunter some fairy lights tomorrow.

FTF is so fucking mindboggling to me because who thought it was a good idea to have Willow, Amity, Boscha and Kikimora eat up Luz's screentime? Especially Kikimora because why would you bring in another antagonist when you already have two of them [Philip and The Collector] running around?
If we operate under the assumption no one up top was responsible for some of these awful writing decisions... there was not a single person in that writing room who had enough common sense to say:
"Yeah look, I know it sucks Willow and Amity can't get any development before the show ends. And I know we have fans who want to see the side characters one last time. But we literally dont have the time to do it. We cant take time away from Luz's character arc. We still need to show Caleb and Evelyn so the parallels between them and Luz/Hunter make sense. We also need to show Caleb and Evelyn to contextualize Philip's actions. Luz, Hunter and Philip take top priority in this season because we dont have the time for anyone else. It's awful, but that's just the way it is. It's not a big deal anyway because we can include these minor characters in the timeskip at the end."
And why is Willow having this development with Hunter and not Amity? Dont get me wrong, giving Amity and Willow alot of screentime is still bad because they shouldn't take time away from Luz. But having this development with Amity is more logical than having it with Hunter because Amity was one of Willows bullies. She contributed to Willow's insecurities of being "half a witch". AND THEN instead of it being focused on Willows insecurities its also about HUNTER and how he couldn't tell Willow and Gus they were important to him? WHAT.
Hunter did not need to have this kind of development either by the way. Like the kid died and came back to life AND lost his companion in the previous episode... but of course he doesn't feel a certain type of way about what happened in TTT - his REAL issue is that he couldn't tell Gus and Willow they were important to him... WHAT. Also, you honestly expect me to believe Luz wouldn't try talking to Hunter after she literally saw him die and come back to life before her eyes? Or that Hunter wouldnt be concerned about Luz not coming out of the portal even though TTT established a deep bond between Luz and Hunter?
What was the purpose of going to The Owl House if nothing of value was there? Going to TOH would make sense if the memory tweezers were hidden away somewhere in the house, but theyre not. Everyone is just fucking around in the house and wasting time for no reason. You could have just had the tweezers be at the house and everyone have their important talks before they teleport inside the skull. All that school meandering bullshit could have been completely cut.
Speaking of cutting out stuff why wasn't Odalia cut from this episode? She does nothing and serves no purpose to the story. They make you think she might do something conniving in WAD but she actually does nothing. Just cut her completely. This episode is full of characters who's only purpose is to leech from Luz's LIMITED screentime.
Seriously FTF and WAD read like bad fix-it fanfics. Like someone read some garbage takes from twitter and tumblr and decided to "fix" TOH with the last two episodes.

writing request: after getting teleported to the human realm the hexside-squad cant sleep so luz makes hot coco as they all talk through what happened and who they miss
Hope you have fun with it! :)
Camila squeezed Luz tightly. “I’m just so happy you’re home.”
Luz sighed. She could feel the pressure from the hug, but not the usual warmth and safety that came from her mother’s embrace. “Yeah. I’m home. But they’re not.”
In bed that night, Luz stared at the top of the bunk bed, counting her glow-in-the-dark stars over and over and over. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw King hurtling away from her.
“Amity?” she whispered.
“Yeah?”
“You’re still awake.”
“Yeah. You, too.”
“And me,” Willow’s voice carried through the darkness.
Vee’s response was a snore from the top bunk.
Luz rolled out of bed. “Come on.”
She padded down the stairs, Amity and Willow behind her. Luz took out a pan and filled it with milk, stirring cinnamon and chocolate in once it was heated on the stone. She poured the hot chocolate into five mugs, handing 2 of them to Amity and Willow and scooping up the remaining three between her hands. “C’mon.”
She started down the basement stairs, then bumped into someone halfway down.
“Oof.”
“You okay, Gus?” Hunter’s voice murmured from behind the roadblock. “Luz? Is that you?”
“Yeah,” Luz whispered, “Looks like we all had the same idea.”
“Okay. Uh…”
Luz heard Hunter fumbling along the wall, and then the basement light turned on. The five of them tiptoed down the stairs. Gus and Willow claimed the couch, and Hunter, Amity, and Willow all curled up on the floor. Luz handed the remaining mugs to Hunter and Gus, and the only sounds for the next few minutes were sipping and gulping.
Luz broke the semi-silence with a sigh. “All that, and I didn’t even… I wasn’t even able to get to Eda to warn her. King’s with the Collector, and I don’t even know what happened… what happened with…”
Everyone else glanced at each other, and Amity took Luz’s hand. “We… we saw her.”
“You saw her?!” Luz jumped up. “Was she okay?”
Amity tugged on her hand, making her sit back down. “She was… not doing well,” Amity admitted.
“No one on the isles was!” Hunter said quickly, “The draining spell, it was affecting everyone, and they… everyone was down. But it’s fine now, she’s probably fine, because… the collector… stopped…” He fell silent and went back to sipping his cocoa.
Raine will take care of her.
They promised.
“It all happened so fast,” Gus whispered, “It was… we were at the Blights’, and then we were at the sigil, then the head, and now we’re here, and I… I can barely piece it all together.”
“That gets better,” Hunter mumbled.
“What?”
He cleared his throat. “The… fuzziness. Where everything happened so fast, and you can’t really remember. If you give it time, you’ll be able to process it all, and… mostly, anyway.”
Gus curled his knees up to his chest. “I don’t know if I want to process it. It was… a lot. I saw a lot.”
He gave Hunter a meaningful look when he said that, one Luz wasn’t quite sure how to interpret. She gripped her mug tighter.
“I hope my dads are okay,” Willow murmured.
“We left Ed and Em in the mansion,” Amity said shakily, “They didn’t even know, we didn’t tell them anything, we had to go right away to get to you in time.”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry, I…” Luz buried her head in her arms. “I wanted to warn Eda so bad, and I wanted to keep Hunter safe, but it didn’t even matter in the end, did it? I couldn’t get to her, I couldn’t get past Belos. And you guys… came to get me anyway.” Her voice cracked, and she sniffed. “You were put right into the line of fire. I worried all of you, and for nothing.”
“No, not nothing,” Amity murmured, brushing hair out of Luz’s face, “You got a brand on Belos, backed him into a corner. And you kept him from getting away into the human realm.”
“And you did save me,” Hunter piped up, “If Kikimora had taken me instead of you… Belos wouldn’t have wasted time on words.”
“We would have gone with you anyway,” Willow piped up.
“Yeah!” Gus agreed, “You should know by now that we’ll always go right into the worst of it with you. There’s no stopping us. Might as well give up trying.”
Luz wiped her eyes. “Thanks, guys. I just… you’re all trapped here, now, away from all of your families, and we don’t know what’s happening, and… and you don’t have a way back.”
“But we’ll find one, right?” Amity piped up, “We’ll find a way.”
Luz gave her a small smile. “Yeah. Of course we will. Of course.”
Somehow.

Final chapter? FINAL CHAPTER- IT’S HAPPENIN-
Sooo yeah, we’ve reached the final chapter of Tide of Tied Minds, and… wow. I remember when I first started jotting down ideas for the first chapter in my journal, and the idea of writing the final one seemed like a world away. And now we’re finally here? Weird.
Anyhoo, I wanna thank everyone who joined me on this little ambitious undertaking, and those who’ll come to read it still. It means a lot to me that you all like like my random lil jottins. >w<
I’m glad I took this small step beyond my writing norm, too. My usual fare of writing one-shots is something I find very freeing - I can just take an idea and write a quick little thing for it, and bam. Writing this, though, felt that much more rewarding. They’re both satisfying in different ways, y’know?
I think this chapter is the one that’s changed the most throughout this. I originally had a whooole different plan on how I wanted to end this fic, but after WAD, I got a new, small idea and it grew into what you see here. I did keep the idea of having a flashback at the start, though. Also, the original title was Time Well Spent, as kind of a placeholder that looked like it would become the final title, and I was not planning to make another title a song reference after 3 and 4 - buuut as you can probably see, my inner music geek won out in the end. XD
Done with the 6 chapters of TOTM, eh? Well, I am, anyhow - for those of you clicking on this post for the first time, there’s still one more ride left…
Tide of Tied Minds
Chapter 6: The Stars Are Projectors
Summary: The Collector reflects as they prepare for their favorite human’s celebration.
Chapter Word Count: 2,578
Trigger Warnings: Discussion of death; discussion of trauma
-
Their powers were fading - thanks to Belos’s green goop spreading up their wrists - but they were not about to let anything happen to all the people still in the Archives.
Puppet strings snagged each jutting spike on top of the building, and the Collector put all his strength and willpower and adrenaline into keeping it upright. Some of the people in there walk into his line of sight, looking shocked, a few pointing up. He smiled down at them to tell them everything would be fine; they’d all be safe because he’d make sure of it.
Finally, the house stopped falling - just in time, too. The Collector’s strings all snapped, and all the tension sagged out of their body at once.
It had taken pretty much everything they had, but they’d done it; they’d saved the Archive House and all the people in it from collapsing into the Boiling Sea.
Cool; just gonna… rest now, for a few billion years. Maybe more, he thought as he flopped down onto a travel star.
The star floated down until it gently put the Collector down onto the front of the Archive House’s balcony, where he flopped down sprawled on his stomach, breathing heavily.
A group of Luz’s friends/classmates approached him, led by a purple-haired witch girl - Amity, their mind supplied.
He shrank away from them, expecting them to scold or punish him, to hate him for all he’d put them through.
But when that didn’t happen, they caaarefully peeked an eye open - and saw Amity offering them a hand, a small smile on her face.
Happy and relieved all over (which caused more of that weird wet stuff to well up in their eyes), they took it, and she helped them to their feet. A woman who looked like Luz walked up to the front, approaching the Collector. Her face carried a kind of warmth they’d never recognized before. “Thank you for the help, pequeño amigo.”
-
During their last visit to the Owl House for a short while, the Collector had spent some time getting to know the others.
Amity, the sorta sassy abomination-focused witch and Luz’s girlfriend, who treated them with an almost expert patience.
Willow, the super-strong plant witch who looked out for all her friends, whether that be through gentle caring or kicking someone’s butt with vines.
Gus, the fun-loving illusionist who could rival the Collector’s chaotic energy, and who excitedly told them all his favorite things about the human realm.
Hunter, the Grimwalker that he’d finally gotten to know as his own person, not just another one of Belos’s toys and attempts to bring back his brother.
It was a breath of fresh air; getting to kick back, make some new friends and just… be a kid for a while.
After a while, though, unwelcome thoughts and memories started to settle back in, the closer he got to the group. They initially tried to shove these to the back of their mind, wanting desperately to have as much fun as he could, and not fall back into being slammed with things he didn’t want to think about. But the more time he spent among mortals, the more reminders he’d get, until they were all-encompassed by the now-unavoidable notion.
The notion that finally made their decision for them.
They were going back to the stars.
Not permanently, of course - but there were some things he felt he could only sort out away from the Boiling Isles, and some things he was sure the people of the Isles could sort out most effectively with some space from him. There were a lot of… complicated feelings the Collector had that were tied to the place; it was where they’d been imprisoned, where they’d met and been pulled into a false friendship by Belos. He wouldn’t blame the people of the Isles if they held complicated feelings toward him in turn as, sure, being kept in the Archives had kept them from being swept up in Belos’s takeover of the Titan, buuut being turned into puppets and used as playthings was evidently not an easy thing to be put through - if the way a lot of people had regarded him with fear and still seemed wary was anything to go by. That was part of it, too; guilt over what they’d done.
But bigger than each of those things, perhaps, was the notion they’d been trying so hard to avoid this whole time - he had terrifyingly up-close knowledge that mortals could break for good, but a lot less knowledge on what it could take to break them. That scared them more than they’d probably admit, especially considering how powerful their own magic was; he could hurt someone before he even knew it. It was better, safer, he thought, to keep a distance from these new friends until he’d learned more about how to control his powers. Maybe King could also teach them more about mortals, too - after all, they could (and most definitely would) be in touch with him whenever they wanted.
Besides all that, they haven’t been to space since they were trapped, and, well… they really wanted to see it again, wanted to explore far and wide just like they used to, now that he could. Space was familiar, home-ish and comfortable in a way the Isles wasn’t quite yet. He didn’t know how long it would be until it did become that, or until he could be among his witch and human friends without feeling all jumpy that any of them could get hurt at any moment - but they did feel that those things were very much within reach.
When the Collector first told everyone he was leaving for a bit, and explained why, some people seemed worried. Luz and Eda asked him if he’d be all right on their own, and it was stressed to him that he could always come back, that they had a place here, should they need it.
Everyone said their goodbyes, and he gave Francois back to King. Just as the Collector was about to step outside, though, they were stopped by King. His Titan buddy pressed the rabbit plush into their hands; a gesture of trust, a reminder that the Owl House would always be open to them, and a way of ensuring they’d never really be alone again.
Then King pulled the Collector into a hug, whispering “I hope I see you again soon,” into their ear.
At that, they almost broke down right there, out of pure sentimental joy.
He didn’t, of course. But he came close.
-
During that time since they’d overrun - and then helped save - the Boiling Isles, the Collector kept in touch with their friends and family, and visited them often. They’d left the door wide open, after all, and he was more than happy to make use of that as often as he pleased inbetween their little space escapades.
This particular visit was a little bit different than usual.
Luz had told them about the upcoming celebration of her birthday - or quinceañera - during his most recent visit. According to the people they’d asked, a birthday was meant to commemorate the passing of a year in someone’s life. It never failed to fascinate the Collector how, in the face of their relatively short lives, mortals came up with all sorts of ways to celebrate and make the most value possible out of their time.
At the notion of celebrating such a meaningful event for his pal Luz, well… when he went back to exploring space that day, he miiight’ve dream-visited King and told him about something special they wanted to do for this day.
Their first trip back in space was a blast. Everything they’d missed about the place was there for him to get into all over again! He counted stars, slept in the nooks and crannies of slow-moving asteroids, and saw loads of different planets. King kept them updated whenever the mood struck him, and gladly answered any questions they had. The little exploration had lasted about a month or so before they’d decided to see the Boiling Isles in person again. He felt like he was ready to see everyone again, safely this time.
When he came back, he wasn’t sure what to expect, or how much he’d be welcomed. That almost didn’t matter when they entered the Owl House and were greeted by Eda and King like an old friend. Luz was further back in the house with her mother Camila, and gave him the same welcome when he saw her - this was also when he met her basilisk sister Vee, who was (coincidentally enough) also having her first visit to the Isles in a while.
They stayed on the Isles a long while, almost twice as long as their space trip, getting to know everyone all over again and learning what they’d been up to. He was surprised at how natural it seemed, talking to all their friends and listening to them talk with zest and zeal. He got closer to everyone; closer than he’d ever been.
The place they spent the most time, though, was at the Owl House, which pretty much became his home on the Isles. Luz, King, Eda and Raine (Ray-Ray) all helped him figure stuff out about himself and the things and people around him, and showed them things they’d never known before - like family. A long time ago, family hadn’t meant much to him. From the Archivists and their constant, annoying dismissals of their little sibling, to Belos and all the Grimwalkers he only pretended to love, but who all had no worth of their own to him as long as he could make more. This, though, was different. This felt… right, as weird as it felt to call anything in his life that. It was a strange feeling, having people who understood him. They remember how Gus told them he knew what it was like to think someone was your friend, only to find out they were just pretending in order to use your abilities for their own gain.
A few times, during their visits, he approached some residents of the Isles and offered to help with the rebuilding, partly to test how they felt around him - and while some were still kinda wary, they never protested the idea of the Collector willingly helping take back some of the damage he’d done to their home. It gave him hope, and made him realize that he’d begun to find not just friends and family, but a community. For all the differences and knotted-up feelings between them, there was one thing that inspired some solidarity among them all in general - the same guy had once had them dancing to tunes of his choice. This was something they all understood, even when it came to the Collector. He got a taste of this when Hunter told him about the things he was forced to do under Belos, and how he coped with it.
The rebuilding took a long time and was not easy, as the former ruler’s final act had dealt a looot of damage to the Isles. There was definitely a lot of deeper damage the guy had done, that wasn’t as simple as being repaired. All the same, the Collector got the sense that, given enough time, things would (eventually) be okay, especially as people were now able to put energy into doing things they enjoyed without fear or restriction. Once, at his prompting, Willow had told him about flier derby, and how it gave her a sense of freedom and fun she hadn’t had a long time before. He sensed that all over - how, even if things would never really be the same as they’d once been, people could come together and find ways around that, to be able to flourish and be free again.
One time, Luz gathered a bunch of kids around herself and Amity, and together they regaled the group of a tale they’d told the Collector briefly before - how Belos was finally defeated. The kids watched, wide-eyed, as the two recounted the moment he was ripped from the Titan’s heart and melted by boiling rain, before being stomped on and finished off for good. For all his palisman-prolonged life, death had finally caught up to him.
Death…
It’s something the Collector tries not to think about, as much as that doesn’t do to actually stop his mind from going there. It’s something they’ve seen only a few times and still don’t completely get, but they hope beyond hope to never see it again. Sometimes, on bad days, just a glimpse of the decaying bones the adult Titans were reduced to brings on memories of their hands shaking and stained with red, or grasping desperately onto an orb of light.
Just like the Isles and the people on it, there are things in his life he’ll never fully be able to heal, but they’re learning to be able to live with that.
Four years. A pretty insignificant chunk of time by his standards, and yet so much has changed.
The Collector peers down at the Archive House, resting on top of the Titan’s skull like a crown. The huge left hand that reaches up, fingers poking just above the planet’s atmosphere - almost as if in greeting to the cosmic deity, or wanting to reach out and cradle them on its palm.
Come to think of it, there was one other thing Luz had told the Collector.
At first, he didn’t get how she’d been able to fix herself, when even he couldn’t fix her. Well, not until she told them that it was the Titan - the Boiling Isles - King’s Dad - who had given her his last bit of life to bring her back from wherever she’d been (which also explained why the big guy’s glyphs weren’t working anymore).
She’d also told them that the Titan had confessed they’d made a mistake by trapping the Collector.
The Collector goes into a dive toward the outstretched hand, then spreads out his arms at the last second to slow their fall and land gently onto its clawed thumb. He reaches out one of his hands and gives their perch a little pat. “Farewell, big guy.”
Just then, small, bustling sounds catch the Collector’s attention. Leaning forward and zooming their vision in, he browses around Bonesborough until his eyes reach the Owl House - where they see a crowd milling outside, coming to greet Luz and her mother Camila with lights and a huge banner. Whoop! The Collector quickly jumps up, hovering a few paces above the thumb. The celebration’s starting, and they will not let the fun end without doing his bit.
Time to put on a show. Grinning gleefully, the Collector conjures a ball of cosmic magic and raises their arms to light up the night sky.
Once they start wrapping up their display and turn to leave, he hears a faint sound - a massive chorus of “byyyeee!” from a gathered crowd in front of the Owl House, all waving excitedly to him.
The Collector laughs, the sound tingling through their whole body and making it feel lighter, a sound of pure, hearty jubilation. He waves down to his people as he flies off. “Kthanksbyyyeee!”

THE OWL HOUSE SEASON 2 HAS CAPTIVATED ME, so here are my reactions/thoughts to episodes 18 and 19
Episode 18: FINALLY MORE GUS TALK!!!! We get so much information about all the other characters I WAS BEGINNING TO THINK MY GUY GUS WAS BEING NEGLECTED!!
His power is so cool, I need more people to be as excited about illusionist magic as me and Gus are! HE LITERALLY CHANGED THE WHOLE SCHOOL AND TRICKED THE HEAD OF ILLUSIONIST COVEN!
Speaking of, the head of the Illusionist Coven being just some wanna be director is fucking hilarious, he is a snob and I hate him with a passion but I want to laugh at him, so much
Gus literally saving all the students at the school too is being SEVERELY looked over right now, like DUDE HE LITERALLY SAVED ALL OF YOU!!!!
All the guards this episode had me in stiches!!! I WANT MORE GUARDS BEING FUNNY IDIOTS!! ESPECIALLY SEVERINE, god, someone get Severine some therapy, like SLAYYY GO BACK TO THE TINY CAT COVEN! GET SOME SELF ESTEEM BACK!
Obviously, i cannot talk about this episode WITHOUT talking about our boy, Hunter.... who was living in the school stage. Listen, I won't judge the guy, he is homeless, his whole life has been thrown upside down, I feel for the guy it was just a surprise! (/lh) ANYWAY, I LOVED THE GUS AND HUNTER FRIENDSHIP GROWTH! From the sharing of the breathing thing (TWICE!!!) and the comforting each other AMAZING
Amity and Willow learning how to be friends again was also an amazing plot line, I love to see how their friendship will expand
Episode 19: THE WEIRD DREAM THING??? AND KING BEING CONNECTED TO THE COLLECTOR?!? Listen, I still don't fully understand who the collector is BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE APPEARED IN ONE OF THE GANG'S DREAMS! Yeah, I haven't forgot about it being in Eda's dream too! I am very confused, it seems lonely, but evil, but also just a chaotic vibe, I am conflicted
POOR KING! He literally just found out traumatising news and THEN people keep treating him differently now?? I spent the whole start of the episode wanting to just hold King and keep him safe from everyone, HE IS JUST A LITTLE GUY!!! HE IS JUST A BABY!!!
BUT! Steve to save the day. I am now a Steve Stan. I am a Steve fangirl. If Steve has 1 fan, its me, if Steve has 0 fans, I am dead. BRING BACK STEVE!!!! I adore Steve, with every essence of my being, HE WAS ACTING LIKE KING WAS FAMILY AND- AHHH, best friends your honour, they are best friends
FUCKKK The Eda and Raine and Luz angst was a plotline I was NOT ready for after the absolute fluff that was King and Steve helping people and vibing. SOMEONE GET MY PAL RAINE OUT OF THERE!!! Plant coven girl is literally obsessed with them, tf
Eda just wanting to save the kids, to protect Luz and King- I will admit, it hit me in my feels, Eda still treating King as a kid (AS HE SHOULD BE) and Luz and wanting them both away from danger AHHHHHHH
Luz bestie, I love you, but PLEASE EDA WAS RIGHT
HOWEVER HARPY EDA CAMEO!!! RAHHHHHH, I am still obsessed with it, we need more of Harpy Eda in this show.
AND FINALLY, THE ALLIES!!!! GOD. I am obsessed DARIUS I KNEW I COULD TRUST YOU!!! I don't know if I posted, but I REALLY liked Darius but knew (well, thought) he was evil, BUT NO I CAN NOW FINALLY LOVE HIM! AND EBERWOLF! Didn't forget him (did just have to search his name tho)
OH AND! The Palisman!!! I was going to mention this as I hadn't been mentioned in a while, BUT CARING FAMILY BONDING BETWEEN EDA, LUZ AND KING!!! I fucking love found family. Can you tell!!#
IN OTHER EXCITING NEWS! I am about to watch the season 2 finale episodes! No idea what to expect, but I am literally addicted so will take anything, i am sad I am so close to finishing it though, as Season 3 has less episodes
BUT it means I can finally interact with the fandom, etc etc
Thank you to all following my journey watching the series for the first time

We did return to The Owl House, just like I wanted. Although I didn’t want it to be like this.
We saw the house ransacked and emptied before, back in… it was O Titan Where Art Thou, right? I think it was. Yeah, because Luz & Eda went on a mission to get King’s stuffed animal back after the Emperor’s Coven stole it.
It’s bee further vandalized, with rude graffiti left by the Emperor’s Coven. And interestingly enough… based on the ”There is no Titan” one, I think this mightäve been fairly recent. As in, after the Day of Unity. Which, hm…
(Before I get into that though, I just… ”Kiss my grass.” I…I-I genuinely can’t believe they got away with that)
At this point it is not entirely clear what happened, but based on what I did see, I think what happened is that at the Day of Unity, The Collector sent out his little star minions to take control over people so they could participate in the grand game of Owl House.
We saw people fighting the star minions, meaning that it’s not impossible that there are groups of people who managed to avoid getting taken. Some of those may have been members of the Emperor’s Coven. And it kinda makes sense that the trained military/police witches would be able to put up the best fight.
Furthermore, let’s say that, oh, I dunno… a high-ranking member of the Emperor’s Coven with some experience in leading troops and maybe a big mech to back her up… if someone like that happened to be around, then she could maybe take control over a small group of remaining Coven Scouts and create her own little empire.
Tumblr media
Pictured: Camila realizing that maybe asking these two kids about advice on a complicated emotional situation that she, an adult woman, can’t figure out was maybe a bad idea.
Either that, or she just has no idea what they’re talking about.
I joke, but I can appreciate Camila realizing she’s a bit out of her depth and resorting to asking someone else for help and advice. After all, it was Luz' new friends here in the Demon Realm that made her want to stay there in the first place, so they’ll be the ones to make her change her mind about never coming back.
(Future Lampman here: Also, she was the one who made Luz promise to stay in the Human Realm. That's kinda important. Maybe Past me should've brought that up, if he had remembered)
Tumblr media
Lot’s of stuff going on here in rapid succession.
Gus tearing up at the thought of his dad being in danger… it’s the silly little guys breaking down that gets to you the worst.
Camila reaching out to comfort them both…
Hunter slowly losing his mind…and then he reflexively tries to summon Flapjack when he hears something in the bushes only to be reminded of his loss again.
Then we have Willow saying she’s ”the reliable one” and how she’s totally fine. Then she walks off, leaving a trail of sprouting plants that force themselves through the cracks of the floor. That’s totally not symbolic of anything.
Willow’s right, throughout a large part of the show she has been the reliable one. Her considerable magical power has gotten the gang out of trouble on multiple occasions, and she has yet to fall. But… there are only so many storms a single tree can take before it falls. And constantly putting others before yourself can be very tiring. It’s okay if you’re the one who needs help every now and then.
Tumblr media
I was just about to make a joke about Luz trying to hatch her palisman egg in Eda’s nest when Amity stole it away from me.
Tumblr media
Ooh, are we finally going to get the backstory on how Amity got her palisman!? Ghost, I think is its name?

in honor of both the owl house and the dragon prince trailers being released i bring you: the main characters and main villains of each show in each others’ universe
so basically for the owl house characters it’s just going to be which type of magic they have maybe of who i think they resemble in the series and vice versa!
the owl house as the dragon prince:
Luz
is obviously Callum in the sense that they are both the main character, kind of childlike, and want to learn magic when it is said for it to be impossible for humans
ends up learning sky magic like Callum does
Amity
i’m obsessed with the idea of her being Rayla, main character’s enemy turned love interest, badass, parent issues, great hair
obviously moon magic since i just feel like it fits and she has that moon necklace
Willow
i don’t really know who she would be in the dragon prince universe tbh
earth magic bc plants are kind of part of earth. idk if she would be an earthblood elf tho. i know there are other types of earth elves but it hasn’t been said what they are yet
Gus
he’s Ezran all the way bc he’s younger than everyone else and gets underestimated all the time, but is actually more than capable and was forced to grow up sooner than everyone else
obviously he would do moon magic and would specifically be an illusionist
Hunter
Soren!!! both of them are my favorite blond white boys, and very skilled in hand to hand combat, have an abusive father figure (Viren and Belos) that they later got away from
no magic, sword fighter on the king’s guard
Eda
Ethari bc they were the best of their kind (in magic and fighting) and saw a child and immediately adopted it, she could also kinda be Lujanne
i could see Eda doing sky magic with the whole wing transformation thing (like harpy eda form)
King
Zym. hatched without his parents and is going to grow up to essentially be a god but looks so cute rn, and never knew their dads
because of all of that above he would be a sky dragon
Belos
as said above he’s viren. learned magic he wasn’t supposed to and was an abusive father figure that hates the magic people and betrayed his brother (i’m talking about harrow since viren called him a brother)
dark magic
The Collector
aaravos. ok so yeah ik that they are almost completely opposites personality wise but they’re both starry people that used the main villain of the first couple seasons as pawns in their game and were/are trapped in a prison by the cute little guy’s dad
star magic
the dragon prince as the owl house:
Callum
as said above, he’s Luz
he would definitely be so excited to learn magic that he would forget to choose a type and he would be in every track
his palisman would be an owl bc they’re nocturnal birds and it just makes sense
Ezran
gus, as said above
he would be in the beastkeeping track instead of illusions tho since he can actually speak to animals
Bait is his palisman
Rayla
amity
i don’t think any of the tracks really fit rayla for some reason but maybe oracle?
her palisman would be a tiny little dragon
Zym
a titan like King
i don’t think any further explanation is needed
Claudia
hear me out. Kikimora with a bit of Willow. too loyal to the human that shouldn’t know magic, but is also cute and goofy.
she would also start consuming palisman like belos did but idk for what reason yet. maybe she just plays the role kikimora did but is still a human.
Soren
Hunter, as said before
no magic without his palisman, which is a german shepherd
Viren
obviously Belos, down to his appearance being changed from the magic he’s not supposed to be doing and nearly dying from it
consumes palismen to keep himself alive, but turns into a monster
Aaravos
The Collector
too op and is having fun with it
not demon, which or human and is born from the stars

Who Knew Grimwalkers Were Himbos? (Crossover Fic)
A Dragon Prince and Owl House crossover fic. Once I realized how fun this was to write I decided to split it into multiple mini adventures, so at least something could be posted eventually. But yeah...definitely more to come from this. Thank you to @jgvfhl for the ideas, encouragement, and lovely commentary as I’ve been working on this. Hope y’all enjoy!
Summary: Hunter and Darius are brought to the Owl House for their advice on an...interesting, and vaguely familiar, individual. Who knows what adventures are in store?
Word count: 2.1k
“Hunter?” Darius knocked softly on the door.
Ever since the defeat of Emperor Belos and The Collector, the Boiling Isles had returned to its own brand of normalcy. Willow and Gus had gone back to living with their parents, Amity and the twins were reunited with Alador. King, and even Luz, were back to living with Eda for a time. Eda and Alador had both tried to take Hunter in, but one strongly worded conversation, and lots of Abomination goop later, Hunter was taken under Darius’ wing.
“Mmm…yeah?” Hunter mumbled, coming out of sleep. “Whassup?”
“I’d prefer not to interrupt your sleep schedule, Little Prince, but unfortunately we do have to go to the Owl House later this afternoon.”
“How soon?”
“Five hours.”
Hunter slumped back down in bed. “Why are we up so early, then?” he mumbled into his pillow.
“Because good hygiene should not be ignored. This should give you plenty of time to wake up, get yourself clean, and put on some fresh clothes.”
As Darius left, Hunter mumbled, “Just because you need half a day to be able to leave the house doesn’t mean we all do.”
~
By the time Darius had gotten ready, the core tenants of the Owl House were gathered in the living room. As much as he wanted to leave his Golden Guard training behind him, Hunter couldn’t help but notice the energy of the room. Luz’s nervous pacing, Eda’s tight grip on her staff, Lilith’s absentminded stroking of her palisman. Hunter instinctively reached for Flapjack, stroking the cardinal on his shoulder as he took in the scene before him.
Darius cleared his throat. “So, care to explain why you’ve invited us over? I’m assuming it’s not for a friendly cup of tea.”
“Not exactly, no,” Lillith said. “There’s been…a situation.”
“Good or bad?” Hunter asked.
“Not sure. We think it’s fine, but…” Eda knelt down in front of Hunter. “Kid, this might have something to do with Belos. We don’t know for sure, but we want to make sure you’ll be alright, got it?”
Hunter nodded. Between Darius and the therapist Steve recommended he was doing better in terms of flashbacks and attacks. He focused his breathing like Gus had taught him and nodded. “He can’t hurt me anymore. He’s gone. I’ll be ok.”
Luz looked over to Hunter. He could tell she was nervous, and he gave her a nod of confidence. “Hunter…we think we found another Grimwalker.”
Hunter was silent. He somewhat registered Darius, Eda, and Lillith arguing, but he was too focused on what Luz had said. Another Grimwalker… another witch like him? Someone who also escaped Belos? Someone he could maybe call…a brother?
“I’d like to meet him.”
The arguing stopped as the adults turned to look at him. “Kid, if you’re not sure,” Eda started.
“I am. I want to meet him.”
~
“Hi, I’m Soren, nice to meet you.”
The man standing before Hunter didn’t seem threatening, not in the slightest. But Hunter couldn’t help but notice how much taller he was. Built, muscular, not as many dark circles under the eyes. The eyes…they were blue. And his ears…they were round, not pointed.
Inadequate. A failure. Imperfect copy.
The words rang in Hunter’s head and almost sent him reeling. Gus had shown him the images; he knew who he was a copy of. A human. Belos always said that Hunter had been the closest…was that just another lie?
His legs grew weak and he started to fall over.
“Woah, little dude, careful,” Soren said, catching him. “Hey, are you ok? You look a little pale.”
Hunter opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. He knew he wasn’t in any danger, but why did he feel so…tense? Angry? Jealous?
“Alright, alright, give him some space.” Eda swept in between the two as Darius and Luz eased Hunter over to a chair.
“Sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt him. Are elves just really fragile?”
“He’ll be fine,” Luz said. She looked at Hunter and he nodded, breathing deeply in and out. “By the way, why did you call him an elf?”
“Are…are they not elves? I mean, I’m pretty sure you’re human, but they’ve got the…y’know.” He gestured to his ears, miming the exaggerated points the others’ ears came to.
“Not elves, no. Witches,” Lilith spoke up.
“Witches? Huh…so…what part of Xadia are we in? Cause I’m preeeeetty sure we’re not in one of the five kingdoms.”
Everyone stared at him.
“Um, none of the above?” Luz suggested. “We’re in the Boiling Isles, in the Demon Realm.”
“Demon Realm, huh?” Soren raised an eyebrow. “Man, Claudia, what did you get yourself into?”
“Who’s Claudia?”
“Oh, she’s my sister.” Soren smiled, his whole face lighting up. “She’s pretty great actually. Knows magic and all sorts of stuff. You have to try her hot brown morning potion some time, it’s AMAZING. I mean, I don’t drink it cause I get all jittery, she says it’s some kind of side effect-”
“Alright, Blondie, we get it.” Eda sighed. “Is she the reason you’re here?”
“Well, yeah. She was trying to…” Soren trailed off, almost seeming to deflate in the process. He sighed. “She was trying to help our dad, Lord Viren. He…he wanted some kind of portal and cause she’s so smart she was helping, and I was just standing there, you know? There was this light and this doorway opened up, and…I think I tripped? Anyways, I was trying to catch my balance but I fell through and when I turned around…”
“The door wasn’t there.” Luz finished.
Soren nodded. Darius, meanwhile, pulled Lilith off to the side.
“You said this was of vital importance, and I hate to say it, but it’s not.”
“I doubt that you hated saying that,” Lilith muttered under her breath. “But I swear, I thought there was some connection. We met him while he was stumbling through the forest, saying names no one recognized and talking about some portal. And just look at them!” She gestured to Soren, then over to Hunter. “Can you honestly deny that they look similar? If I’m being honest, I thought he fell through a time pool who knows how many generations ago! How was I supposed to know any better?”
“You could have talked to him before involving us, Lilith. It’s clear that this teenager has no connection to Belos. More than likely he went through a doorway and ended up here by accident, just as our own Miss Noceda did.”
“Fair points all around, Darius.” Lilith deadpanned. “Still, I wanted your, and Hunter’s, opinions on the matter.”
“Well thank you for the invitation, but Hunter and I really must be going. Hunter?” Darius turned to the former Golden Guard only to find him looking ahead at Soren.
“So you’re not a Grimwalker? You never knew Belos?” His voice was hoarse, but he seemed more composed than he was earlier.
“No and no. Never heard of either of those things. Is that a good thing?”
“Yeah,” Hunter’s voice cracked, and he cleared his throat. “Yeah, that’s a good thing. I was wondering…do you need a place to stay?”
All heads in the room turned towards him. Darius was barely concealing his shock, but no one said anything to the contrary.
“Um…sure? If that’s alright with you all. And at least until I get back to my world.”
“Yeahhhh, I’m pretty sure the portal I use wouldn’t work for you, unfortunately.” Luz piped up. “We have some experience with that kinda stuff, though, so I’m sure we’ll be able to provide some help.”
“Thank you, I appreciate it.” Soren looked at Hunter and Darius. A facepalm and long sigh later, Darius gathered the two teenagers and brought them to their home.
~
It didn’t take long for Soren to get settled in. He didn’t have much besides the armor he was wearing and a few weapons.
“So, I know this must be a lot, and you’re probably overwhelmed,” Not like Hunter wasn’t overwhelmed by this situation. “But if there’s anything I can do to help make things easier, or if you need me to clarify anything, I’ll do my best.”
“Well…there was one thing.” Soren took a deep breath, and Hunter prepared himself for any number of questions. With all the books he’d read on the history of the Boiling Isles and wild magic, he was confident he could tackle any question.
“What’s up with that guy’s hair? It’s, like, purple, but it moves?”
Well, maybe that wasn’t the question Hunter was expecting, but it was still one he could answer.
“It’s magic. Specifically abomination magic. It’s a branch that deals with all kinds of creations and weapons utilizing abomination gel.”
“Ok…but why?”
“Why?”
“Yeah, why? I mean, I don’t know if he just has bad hair days, but why would anyone willingly put weird purple goop in their hair?”
“Oh. Um…not sure? Honestly I think he’s just going for a whole aesthetic, and this way is just easier.”
“Alright, makes sense. Follow up question: can I touch it?”
Hunter waited for the “gotcha” moment. Willow and Gus had thoroughly educated him in the realm of sarcasm and jokes, but Soren looked dead serious.
“Well,” Hunter hesitated. “Guess it depends. Are you curious about the abomination gel itself or just Darius’ hair?”
“Yes.”
“It would probably be a lot smarter and a LOT safer if we just found some abomination gel.” He was about to present some reasonable alternatives when he looked at Soren’s expression. The wide eyes, the curled lip. There was just something so…convincing about it. “But…How good are you at stealth missions?”
“The best. It was part of my training, after all.” Soren didn’t feel the need to mention how several of his “stealth” missions were just the result of pure luck. The results spoke for themselves, regardless of the events that got him there.
“Hm. Good.” Hunter glanced at a nearby clock. “Alright, here’s the plan. Darius goes off for his beauty rest in ten minutes. That gives us a half hour window to sneak in, get all your curiosity out of your system, and get out before he notices. Simp-AH!”
Hunter yelped as Soren pulled him into a big hug.
“Thank you thank you– oh, sorry.” He let go of Hunter, looking embarrassed. “I should’ve asked first. I just got excited.”
“It’s alright,” Hunter said, gathering himself. “I get it. I also… just need to get used to that vertical arm thing.”
“You mean a hug?”
“Is that what it’s called? Guess it’s simpler to say than ‘vertical arm thing’.”
“Do you…do you not have hugs here?” Soren tilted his head, confused.
“I mean, kinda? Sort of?” Hunter stumbled over his words. “Luz introduced them to her friends, and they kind of introduced it to me, but I’d never really participated in one before.” He paused for a moment. “It was nice. I mean, I’d rather not have been surprised like that, but regardless…I didn’t hate it.”
“Well, I’m glad to hear it. And I’ll be sure to ask next time, too. And if you ever want a hug, I’m your man. The hug man. That’s me.”
Hunter stared at Soren in slight befuddlement. Judging from the armor and weapons, he was clearly a skillfully trained warrior, but everything about his demeanor suggested the contrary. Let’s just hope you really can pull off a stealth mission, Hunter thought.
~
“I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE BEST AT STEALTH MISSIONS?!” Hunter bolted behind another corner, Soren right on his heels.
“OF COURSE I AM! It’s got to be this realm. It abides by weird rules or something. It’s the only explanation!”
Sure, the pair had snuck into Darius’ room simply enough. Soren was able to touch the semi-floating purple hair, but it wasn’t enough to satiate his curiosity.
Just a little piece, Soren had thought. Before Hunter could stop him, Darius found himself face to face with two teenagers yanking on his hair. They didn’t stick around long enough to hear what he had to say on the matter.
“Boys!” Darius’ voice echoed behind them. “I just want to talk!”
“This way!” Hunter grabbed Soren’s arm and led him out of the house. He gave a sharp whistle and a small red cardinal came to meet them.
“Let’s book it, Flapjack!”
“Aw what a cute OH MY GODS!!!”
As they saw Darius emerge from the house, Hunter shouted over the sound of Soren’s yelling. “Sorry Darius! Emergency errand! Be back later!”
And with that, the pair soared, and partly screamed, their way over the isles, off to avoid consequences and seek whatever adventure awaited next.

Just some dreams I’ve had about The Owl House
Most of the stuff I’ve written in this blog so far has been more serious analysis type stuff so I thought today I’d talk about something more light hearted. Most of these were from before 2B came out so they’re pretty inaccurate to canon now although they were already pretty inaccurate due to how weird they all are (for the most part).
1. Switching Places
Luz sees Eda is sad and believes it’s because she feels bad about someone she loves so somehow she finds a spell that helps you to find someone you’re romantically in love with. So she uses this spell on Eda who talks to a very confused looking Raine before disappearing and Raine reappearing in her place. It turns out this spell also makes the people it’s used on switch places so Eda’s now trapped in the castle. Luckily Luz and King are able to rescue her so she’s ok and reunited with Raine :)
2. Keychain
I was in a shop that for some reason had loads of keychains of Kikimora. People keep trying to give them to me but I really didn’t want them (I’m not a big fan of her).
3. Plushie
Luz, Eda and King were watching a play, I have no idea what it was about. Neither did King as he ended up falling asleep cuddling a plushie of himself.
4. A Plan
Somehow Belos is able to catch Luz, Eda and King and asked Luz to give up using magic or join a coven. Obviously she said no but he threatened to hurt Eda and King so she agreed. Later on Amity gets really mad at her for agreeing to do this (Gus and Willow are weirdly fine with it). Luz reassures her and says that while Belos has a plan she has her own plan to stop him. Unfortunately I have no idea what this plan was since I woke up at that point. I was so annoyed!
5. Aftermath
Unlike the others, this one is pretty recent and happens after Kings Tide. King is trying to get some supplies into the BI but the Collector stops him for some reason and they go to the Head, which is still there for some reason. Then it’s revealed that Belos cloned other people, not just Caleb and the Collector wants to kill then for some reason but King wants to keep them safe. Then they start debating about the ethics of cloning people until Kings collar almost falls of the cliff but he manages to grab it in time and that’s where this dream ends.
So yeah that was some weird TOH dreams, I may make a follow up post about Amphibia dreams in the future. It’s been pretty fun to talk about these! :)

Now to finish this up...
LETS TALK ABOUT EDGE OF THE WORLD AND LABYRINTH RUNNERS THE OWL HOUSE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Let’s go first with Edge of the World.
THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A FLUFFY EPISODE. THEY SAID IT WOULDN’T HAVE PAIN
but it did
And ooooh boy, a lot of it!--
I’m gonna be honest, i got a little confused by the beggining, as i didn’t get it was a dream-- But yeah! this episode was great!!
Also, Some things about this episode i would like to mark out: -This episode didn’t have a Plot B as the other episodes -Eda probably just let them go because Hooty said that he heard footsteps -Hooty has been very protective with the kids -KING IS A FRICKING TITAN -The collector is probably the one taking the Titan Blood to Belos, using Bill and probably his predecessors. (maybe this is why Belos wasn’t excited to get that little of titan blood from Hunter, since the collector has given him a LOT more) -King just wanted to play fetch :(
And, now, some thoughts about the episode: Luz being able to open up and etc to the owl house gang was so... yeah... KINGGG.... MY... NOOOOO. like. Now that he’s a Titan... i’m pretty sure Luz can use his blood to open the portal using a syringe... but belos... belos would KILL him. AND THERE THE THING THAT. The collector probably KNOWS. AND ABOUT COLLECTOR KNOWING... a little thing... did you guys notice that... king’s eyes when they shined... really REALLY look like...
Tumblr media
And also... when king got into luz’s body....
Tumblr media
(i know it was a way to tell us who’s who, but... if luz is swapped with king... and, before, king gets possessed by the collector, then... it literally would kill two birds with a stone-- maybe even three: Luz would be killed AS WELL AS give them the Titan Blood to finish the day of unity + the collector gets a proper body to play with...) i’m gonna make a proper post with this idea hold on i’m onto something
ALRIGHT NOW!! ITS TIME FOR... Labyrinth Runners!!!
this episode was... ooooooh wooooow!!!
with the Cliffhanger of the last episode, people were concerned about this one... but... would you look at that! they didn’t even put this as a plot C or something-- and that’s totally fine... it was already time for the other characters to shine...
So! some points i would like to mark out!:
-Very happy that it took some time to Amity and Willow friendship to reconstruct -Show kids about the breathing exercises to calm yourself calm is SOOO important!! I had a panic attack before, and knowing how to calm myself was very very important to overcome it! -Hunter was reading about grimwalkers in his hideout -Both Gus and Willow are VERY strong! And, their powers seen to amplify when their eyes shine! -GUS DEFEATED A FRICKING COVEN HEAD, WITH THE POWER THE COVEN HEAD SPECIALIZES WITH! eeeven tho the Coven Head doesn’t seen that powerful compared to the others, since he uses a amplifier, it’s still a big feat!! -Adrian looks like just a name for the “good Graye”, as Adrian is only used by Graye himself, as the rest always refer him as Graye, + Adrian doesn’t appear in the credits. -Principal bump uses his palisman as a hat. And that’s interesting. -Luz doesn’t appear at ALL this episode, this may be the first ep she doesn’t appear, and just is mentioned by Amity.
And, at last... some thoughts about this ep DARIUS AND RAINE ARE PROLLY SO FRICKING PROUD ABOUT HEXSIDE BEATING GRAYE UP. i like to think they are. i really like to think. About the books Hunter was reading!! there’s one called the “Extinction of the Grimwalkers”...huh? were they extinct? WHAT happened?? were they a species of their own? or were they simply not used anymore for some motive? The Gus, Luz & Willow trio have a new member!! Welcome to the group Hunter!!!! “Graye is gay and homophobic” AND ANDDDD!!!! FINALLY A GUS EPISODE!! SOME SPOTLIGHT FOR HIMMM WOOOOOOOOO HELL YEAH Bump should be sponsored by Pantene. yeah that’s it. OH YEAHH Also Also-- about the shining eyes thing with Willow & Gus... they shine just like when darius for example, have his eyes shine green to transform into his abomination form.. AND, in the Ep we see how only gus’ left eye is the one shining to represent how he’s not on control, sooo... maybe Darius’ eyes shine green bc of 1: bc he IS on control, and dominates the form completely, thus shining with his own eye color, or 2: his eyes just shine green bc abomination eyes are green... which... is prolly that... but........ Luz unappearence in the last episode, analysing the text she sent to Amity, she seems to be in a hurry, since some symbols don’t make sense... BUUT, since she was able to give hearts to Amity, + the message was long, she probably is fine (i hope), but hiding. (please for the love of THE TI-- KING. NO MORE PAIN) THIS CLIFFHANGER TOO. THINGS ARE HAPPENING. TRULY HAPPENING!!!! HEXSIDE JOINING THE REBELLION GROUP MAYBE (or the reverse)?? HELL YEAH!!!
AND! i think that’s it!! Good job on reading it all!

TOH S3 EP3 REACTION, AKA, THE SERIES FINALE PEOPLE!!!!!!!
I have no idea how long this will take me, just as a warning idk how long it will take me to watch and write all this, its about an hour long episode so
LETS GO!
Woah, instantly, King's dad maybe?? Or just some other titan guy is telling Luz to wake up from maybe the mirror realm thing established? Cool!
Now Luz, how the hell did you get there? "How did I get here?" LUZ DON'T STEAL MY QUESTION
Oh fuck she is in the emporer's.. temple? Already forgot the name, but i assume its some sort of dream as, this was destroyed? By the collector? Who knows really
WOAH guys, Bump as stone ain't funky, i actually came around to liking that guy, they were dolls last time we saw them!!!! Definitely some form of dream
"Don't you remember?" From Amity CONFIRMED to me that its a dream, there is 0 way we are gonna witness a breakup this episode, I refuse
Amity looks so good with this hair I can't lie, idk if I have commented on this before, but if so, I will say it again, she rocks it! And I want her moon necklace and shoes, that's a given
"This isn't a dream, it is a nightmare!" Love that it took until her girlfriend was trying to kill her for her to realise, fucking love Luz man
EDA!!! LOVELY TO SEE YOU, as always. HARPY EDA`1 ...In prison. Well, it is a lovely call back to season 1 episode 1 so I will accept it!
AAHHHH Her first thought after seeing her mum and sister is "THANK GOD, now lets go find king" I LOVE TOH FAMILY
"Dangerous beasts need to be kept in cages" I know this is a dream, but Lilith queen, you ARE a DANGEROUS BEAST TOO, Eda come on, don't fall for this, have a lightbulb moment like Luz
WOAH DON'T BRING HER DAD INTO IT! DON'T DO THAT TO MY GIRL,, she will cry! Collector (I assume its you) THIS ISN'T VERY NICE
King: *gets jump scared by the guy who is trying to kill him and his species and who wear's his family's skulls"
Also King: "Bill! You crazy jerk! How did I get here?" THAT IS AN UNDERREACTION KING....... See, I TOLD YOU it was an underreaction! He is now trying to decapitate you!
WILLOW! Well. What else did you expect from a nightmare Luz?
GUS! GOD I love Gus, even mean dream Gus is iconic, what a performer
HUNTER! "He was more than a paslisman, he was my best friend." ....guys I won't lie, its a bit difficult to still be in denial about Flapjack, ngl.
.....The challenging to a witch's battle thing made the really intense moment, really not tense anymore because it feels like something out of like harry potter or something
"bip. boop." .....Luz, bestie, what are you doing, because whatever it is, its hilarious. "But you aren't amity!" WE ESTABLISHED THIS BRO, whether its a dream/nightmare or some illusion, IT DOESN'T MATTER, it still isn't real.... maybe she was making a joke when she said nightmare.
OOO PUPPET STRINGS! Cute.
Woahhh rubix cubes exist here?! KING EDA AND LUZ REUNITED, "Are you both really here?" AHSUHDKLDF fuck I will cry
"Ray-Ray" I HOPE WE ALL STEAL THIS NICKNAME FOR RAINE
"King is going to hate me for this" AWWWWW, I mean. Totally not aww, the collector is doing evil things. "My powers don't work on king." "The dog?" "Yeah, cause he is a titan" the Collector just told Belos the biggest fucking news, but also Belos calling King the dog just makes me think that King is like scooby doo or somethin
HEY DON'T HIT FRANCOIS, fucking bully you are Belos, that was not cool!
ABSJHNFEOFN OWLBERT AND STRINGBEAN FRIENDS, AND EDA BEING EXCITED ABOUT LUZ'S PALISMAN!
"....Do you not understand what death means to mortals?" Well. As an immortal, probably not, but as a KIDDO, definitely not, again, feel bad for the Collector, if only we get just stick our heads back on after we chop them off (Eda can legit do that tho wait-)
RAINE you are back! Oh well, you were. "Annoying powerful" just say you are jealous broski, Raine IS great, love them
OOOO Amity is moving, slowly. Huh.
ARE THEY PLAYING PACMAN?! AND NOW MARBLES!? Awww, see, they are just a kiddo!
JENGA! Iconic group of games. Poor Collector just wants toys and friends bless them
"The archivists, my siblings" Man, TMA fan in me was like "JON IS YOUR SIBLING?! Makes sense."
......AWWW. WAIT WHAT NO. Okay. so BASICALLY, the Collector's siblings went "go play with the titans, we don't like you" blah blah, and THEN when the collector goes and plays with the titans (especially the little guys, like King) THE SIBLINGS GOT UPSET SO KILLED OFF EVERY TITAN?! But King's dad went to the Collector "YOU are the bad guy, I am hiding king from you and trapping you" DAMN IT
"I know its just pretend, but I don't care, i will pretend for as long as I want"...... Okay well again, THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE HARD HITTING LINES BRO
RAINE ARE YOU BACK?! Hell yeah, bard magic is sick, HELL YEAH, Raine pal don't injure yourself BUT GO SAVE EDA i think Belos means Eda anyway
...this isn't King's heart is it? Like, how would that work? Maybe its King's dad's heart? Idk
NOOO THE GOO GOT ONTO THE HEART, Belos that was mean, BUT RAINE YOU DID SO WELL, IGNORE BELOS YOU DID AMAZINGLY
OKAY so it isn't King's heart, that's good, i was confused
NOOOOOOo STEVE IS A PUPPET, well the whole island is, but still, STEVE I MISS YOU
"None of us felt like we fit in. So we decided to not fit in together" GOD YOU ARE HURTING MY FOUND FAMILY HEART IN THE BEST WAY
TITAN MAGIC!!?? King bestie YOU CAN DO IT
Belos I am being deadly serious what is your plan, I don't get it, you wanna kill all witches and demons, sure, but this is just making the area ugly, turning it into the dead coral reef ain't going to help
...................Okay Belos you are just ugly now. How do you keep getting uglier, its shocking
....................."You just need kindness and forgiveness huh" COLLECTOR BESTIE, OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THAT WOULD WORK ON, BELOS IS THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN'T
"But i thought I was doing the right thing" OH MY DARLING COLLECTOR, MY KIDDO, how do you explain this to him, why is THIS the closest i have got to tears
LUZ BESTIE. If I had a nickel everytime Luz got almost turned to some form of stone in a season finale by Belos, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice, right?
.......Alright so why is this not solving itself, am I going to have to wait until the finale minutes to see how Luz gets un-coral-ified?!
WHERE DID SHE GO, okay well now the Collector has a tiny sparkley thing of Luz she will survive, no idea how but still
DOES EVERYONE KNOW THIS IS LUZ, I would be mad as fuck if my ashes were being floated across the city, like, damn, do I not get privacy in death?!
EDA AND KING GOING FERAL BECAUSE OF LUZ'S TEMPORARY DEATH IS ALL I NEED AIUSDAOWDEJWAOR
Poor collector, he is just a kiddo, he doesn't understand, bless him
waIT NO DON'T LET GO OF LUZ, SHE IS NOT REALLY GONE DUMBASS
SEE! The little sparkley thing is vibing, in the mirror, realm bit
OH ARE WE AT THE BEGINNING AGAIN! WOO........ Okay why does King's dad have a mini Hooty in his eye and have a "Bad girl coven" t-shirt?! I LOVE HIM, but why is he so short? Is it because they aren't in normal realm so size is weird?
"I am both King and Queen, best of both things" IS THAT A HANNA MONTANNA REFERENCE?!?! IS KING'S DAD A HANNA MONTANNA FAN!? also does that mean gender is just, none existant here? SLAYY
"What? Have you been drinking Eda's homemade apple blood?" BEST RESPONCE TO THAT QUESTION
WAIT DON'T DIE KING'S DAD, NOOOOOOOOOO
.....Does this make Luz a titan? Temporarily one. "Eda the owl lady? Send her my regards. Big fan" AKJFSNFJ:EDOFL
Okay so yeah, he is huge, did think so.
RIP KING'S DAD, I WILL MISS YOU AHHHHHHHH
I will end it here for part one, its now been an hour and a half since I first started the episode and I am half way through so!

Yeah so, let me preface this MOUNTAIN of text by saying this isn't a in-depth prediction covering every single character and what they might be doing in the final two episodes. To be frank, I only care about the drama between Luz, Hunter, Amity, and Belos. So, this isn't super detailed, but I do write out my reasons for why I think certain things are going to happen:
1. Hunter is pulled aside by Gus and Willow. They tell Hunter being a Grimwalker changes nothing about their friendship. Gus mentions he knew about him being a Grimwalker since their fight with Belos in Kings Tide. He was also trying to get Hunter to open up about it to him through Cosmic Frontier. Gus asks Hunter how he feels about Luz helping Belos meet the Collector and he tells both of them he isn't mad at her and in fact knew for awhile. He specifies he heard Luz's secret accidentally, because he wants to be transparent with them from now on. He now trusts them wholeheartedly.
I honestly don't think either Gus or Willow is going to ask him why he took the rebus and ran away with Luz knowing they wouldn't be able to follow them. Firstly, this is question is more meaningful coming from Amity and secondly, Gus and Willow know Luz and Hunter well enough to know neither of them did this with malicious intent. Hunter didn't take the rebus to stick it to Amity and Luz didn't do it to be a bad girlfriend to Amity.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2. Amity asks him why he took the rebus from her knowing she wanted to surprise Luz with it. Amity will not believe him when he tells the truth because she knows how emotionally manipulative he can be when he’s pushed into a corner [example: Eclipse Lake]. And his actions in TTT don't match up with what he's telling her. It also doesn't make sense to her why Hunter AND Luz kept quiet about Belos being alive. It doesn't make sense at all for them to be so stupid as to run off to some known location knowing there's a chance they'll have to fight Belos. Hunter has Flapjack and is a "teen prodigy", but Luz is still defenseless. Nobody had any idea Luz would actually be able to use magic within a certain proximity to the Titan Blood.
So to Amity, it looks like Hunter is lying - he just wanted to take all the credit for finding the titan blood. But was unfortunate enough to run into Belos and nearly die from possession. By taking the rebus it looks like he wanted to impress Luz and steal all the credit for discovering what the rebus was.
It was Amity's idea to go around town and find someone who can help them with the rebus. She spent hours running around town with Willow, Gus, and Vee while he was doing jack all somewhere else. It was Amity, Gus, and Willow who made a guess about the rebus leading to Titan Blood. This is where Amity's competitive side starts to resurface. I honestly think it'll come back because this issue she has was never properly addressed and resolved. You can even see her competitive side resurface a little bit in the beginning of Thanks To Them during their Spanish session, where Vee is congratulated for being the top student.
I can see her straight up asking him if he has feelings for Luz, because of how suspicious his actions were in Thanks to Them. Like how he tells her he'll catch the next bus into town but never actually shows up. The next time she sees him he's walking through the door with Luz, lying about where they've been and what they've been doing. So it looks like he may have gone to the clinic to hang out with Luz and then after Luz was done at the clinic, they went somewhere else to hang out.
I want to point out that when Luz is around, Amity spends all of her time hovering around her - and vice versa. Even when they hang out with their friends they're still together. So, Hunter never showing up to join their little fieldtrip around town looks like he's being opportunistic. By that I mean he's taking advantage of the only time Amity isn't clinging to Luz do go spend some one on one time with Luz.
Then [again, this is from AMITY'S perspective] he takes the rebus from her while she's distracted by the storytellers tale on the carriage ride. And when he notices Amity hangs back with Willow and Gus to take in the story they just heard, he takes Luz and runs off to an unknown location with her. Hunter knows they won't be able to follow them, because they have never been to the location on the rebus before. They were all going to go together after Amity gave the rebus to Luz.
If Luz didn't have her phone they would have never been able to find them. But yeah, it looks like he wants to impress Luz by taking all the credit for figuring out what the rebus lead to. Even though he never joined in on Amity's, Gus', Willow's, and Vee's little field trip around town.
This is why it's not completely unrealistic for Amity to assume Hunter could have a crush on Luz. So, she can start getting competitive with him. I honestly don't think Flapjack dying would make Amity any less competitive because first of all, her hyper competitive side has never been properly addressed as a problem. The only reason why she stopped being competitive with Willow is because she switched over to the plant course. Therefore Willow was no longer perceived as a threat to Amity's top student status. Amity has never had any repercussions for being hyper competitive, so of course she's still going to have this problem.
And another thing... the way Hunter treated Amity in Eclipse Lake hasn't been brought up AT ALL. And the show doesn't even bother to give us any evidence that Hunter and Amity are on good terms during TTT. There's no photo in the photobook and there's no ending credit art to indicate Hunter and Amity are friends with each other.
Literally the only "friendly" examples we have are Amity and Hunter standing right next to each other as they're giving Luz the "food" they made for her and having both of them sit next to each other at the movie theater. But even at the movie theater - Amity is STILL sitting next to Luz.
Amity is attached to Luz at the hip - the only times she isn't is when she goes around town asking people for help with the rebus or when Luz is at school. And when Hunter and Amity made food together it was still something they were doing FOR Luz and they were cooking with Gus, Willow, and Vee. They don't have ANY one on one time together, so how can I possibly assume they're friends?
They've lived together FOR A FEW MONTHS and yet, we are never shown anything that makes us think they're FRIENDS. The only time Amity and Hunter talk directly to each other in TTT is when Amity is being dismissive of his outfit choice, which is really weird because it doesn't matter if Hunter wants to dress as his favorite character. All they're doing is going around town and asking strangers to help them figure out what the rebus is. And yet, Amity feels the need to be dismissive of his outfit choice... that doesn't scream "friendship" to me. Nobody else cares about Hunter going as his favorite character besides Amity.
Showing Hunter and Amity having one on one time would have been so easy to do btw, because AGAIN Luz is at school for a good chunk of the day. But they never bother to give us anything - not a single photo or drawing of them hanging out lmao. She won't spend time with Hunter without Luz being present despite him being the kid she can relate the most to just because of their past confrontation in Eclipse Lake. Even though Amity has a rocky relationship with Gus and Willow, she will spend time with them and LIKES to spend time with them. Like how they were learning Spanish at the beginning of TTT and how she lead their little field trip around town. She clearly wants to spend time with Gus and Willow and not Hunter... like she doesn't even bother to ask WHERE he is during the whole field trip.
So... yeah...
How can I not think she'll be mean to him in the next episode, when the only interaction Hunter and Amity have in TTT is laced with negativity and we are never given any evidence that they hang out together when Luz isn't around? And she now has reason to suspect Hunter might have a thing for her girlfriend.
Amity's hyper competitiveness is going to resurface - it literally doesn't matter that Flapjack just died - because again, this issue she has has never been addressed as a problem within the show and it's still a part of her personality [as you can see in the beginning of TTT] ... so she is not going to magically stop being hypercompetitive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3. Luz doesn't tell Amity Hunter knew about her helping Belos meet the Collector before she did because she doesn't want Amity to feel a certain type of way. Amity talks to her about Hunter acting weird in "Thanks to Them" and makes sure Luz knows that it was her, Willow, Gus and Vee who did all the work figuring out what the rebus was - this is when Luz has one of her internal freak-outs, because she realizes she needs to tell Amity about Hunter knowing her secret way before she did. And she also needs to tell her that it was HER who ruined Amity's surprise and not Hunter. Luz prompted him to take the rebus.
Luz will once again "tell her when she's ready" like she did in Thanks to Them. And by that I mean she will never tell Amity unless she is placed into a situation, usually one of her own creation, where it gets so out of control she is forced to tell Amity OR someone else tells her secret to Amity.
The person who is going to tell Amity is most likely Willow, because Amity has gone to Willow asking for advice on how to deal with Luz's cageyness. See, here's the thing with the whole "Hunter knew about Luz helping Belos before anyone else" secret: it's not a secret Luz can keep Hunter from telling, because it is HIS secret to tell. It wouldn't be fair of her to ask him to keep it on the down-low just because she's nervous her girlfriend might feel a certain type of way about it.
Going back to what I said in point #1: Hunter wants to be completely transparent with Willow and Gus because he trusts them wholeheartedly.
But more importantly: Hunter now knows how dangerous it is to keep secrets from his friends even if he thinks he's protecting them. Him being adamant with keeping quiet about Belos being alive nearly costed him his life AND it got Flapjack killed. If he had just told them Belos could still be alive they would have examined him and found out he was possessed. Or they would have found signs of possession if Belos left Hunter's body before they examined him. Because when Belos possesses something he literally eats away at the host, so he would have left some scarring on Hunter's body.
If Belos decided to throw hands with them it would have been an easier battle since they would have more area to fight on than they had in King's Tide. Also, because of his condition, Belos tends to not be lucid 100% of the time. In King's Tide he almost destroyed the portal door, despite needing it to return home. He calls Hunter "Caleb" in King's Tide after seeing Flapjack. And he calls Luz "Evelyn" and Hunter "Caleb" in Thanks to Them. This is why he needs to consume palismen souls, he needs them to regain mental clarity and retain his human form. But yeah, the point is is that this hypothetical fight with Belos would have been easier to deal with because they have "home advantage", more area to fight on, and Belos' mental state isn't completely lucid [even more so since he's gone a few months without consuming palismen].
I'm not counting Hunter not telling the other's Belos could still be alive as a "Belos was possessing Hunter to make him act a certain way" moment. Because there is no visual or audio indicators that Belos was possessing him when he was telling Luz "No! We have to take care of this ourselves!" like there was when "Hunter" yelled at Flapjack to get the rebus. Not telling the other's about Belos possibly being alive is 100% on Hunter.
Here's the thing: Unlike Luz, Hunter has received severe consequences for keeping secrets. So he is not going to do it again, even if Luz asks him to do it. He now trusts Gus and Willow wholeheartedly and wants to be honest with them. Luz has yet to receive any severe consequences for lying and keeping secrets, so she is going to keep doing it. This could cause conflict between them, but it's not going to be that severe. And I don't see Luz being legitimately angry with him for wanting to be honest with his friends. Because whatever repercussions Luz receives from not telling Amity about Hunter knowing her secret before anyone else did is entirely on her and not Hunter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4a.  Amity, of course, picks up on Luz being cagey about something. Because she has always known when Luz is being cagey about something lol.
But despite her growing frustration, Amity will not force Luz to tell her what she's keeping secret, because it's not in character for Amity to do that to Luz. She has never done it before and she will not do it now. It's actually more in character for Amity to run away from Luz whenever she becomes too frustrated with Luz lying and keeping secrets from her [Reaching Out].
She talks to Willow about how Luz and Hunter are acting weird. She talks to Willow specifically because she has sought advice from Willow on how to deal with Luz's cageyness in the past [Follies at The Coven Day Parade].
Willow casually drops the truth about Hunter knowing Luz's secret before anyone else did thinking Luz already told her about it.
I want to point out the possibility Amity might not even believe what Willow told her about Hunter knowing Luz's secret before everyone else. Again, Amity is the only one who knows how emotionally manipulative Hunter can be when he's pushed into a corner. So this can be perceived as another attempt at making Amity question her relationship with Luz. Because by the time we reach this point I believe Amity will have already put two and two together about Hunter being a clone of Belos' witch-hunting brother.
Because Belos' lines "You did do something good. I thought this one was another lost cause. Because of you we can continue our work as witch-hunters. Starting with them!" This line alone makes it really obvious how exactly Hunter relates to Belos.
So, from Amity's perspective it doesn't make sense why Luz would trust the clone of Belos' witch-hunting brother over her literal girlfriend. Also, if Hunter really found out by accident, how come Luz is afraid to tell her? And why would Luz run off with only Hunter knowing there was a possibility that Belos could still be alive?
Amity is going to become increasingly frustrated trying to get the truth from Luz and Hunter - two people who have a history of lying directly to her face.
4b. Hunter attempts to confess to Willow.
He just had a near death experience and there's a chance he'll have another one. Because not only is Belos still alive, there are going to be aloooooot of angry members of The Emperors Coven who want his head for attempted genocide. So, basically he wants to tell her A.S.A.P because he doesn't want to die with any regrets. However, Willow will tell him she doesn't feel the same about him. Hunter will feel a bit dejected but he gets over it relatively quickly. This changes nothing about their friendship.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5. Lilith and Hooty are found at this point.
Okay so, I'm just going to copy and paste what I wrote on the discord server. Where I talk about Hooty telling Luz and Hunter about Caleb and Evelyn:
-----
Not sure why it took me until just now to realize this. But there's a chance Hooty is going to give Luz and Hunter unbiased information about Caleb and Evelyn. Because house demons like Hooty have insanely long lifespans just like palismen have. They're also living objects like palismen. Amity's comment in KKKOHD states that house demons can get "strange" after a few thousand years. Hooty's age is never stated, so there's a possibility he could have been with the Clawthorns for generations - even predating Caleb and Evelyn.
But yeah, he's pretty much the only one who can give Hunter and Luz unbiased information about them. I think the writers are going to go this route because the MAJORITY of the audience - the people who aren't going to look through the details like we're doing - don't actually know if Caleb and Evelyn were lovers or not. The tale at the faire and the storytellers comment left it ambiguous from their perspective. We know they were lovers but the majority don't, so I think they're going to clarify it for them. Either Hooty tells Luz and Hunter or they somehow go into his mindscape. I honestly believe it's the first option because it's much less time consuming.
Hooty will be reminded of Caleb from looking at Hunter. Since he can actually get a good look at him this time around [unlike in Hollow Mind]. He takes a look at //the only Grimwalker who looks the most like Caleb// and remembers all the years he had with Caleb and Evelyn. God... maybe we'll even get a proper flashback of them. I mean, they gave us a glimpse of Caleb as a teenager [edit: In TTT during the montage where Hunter is alone in the bathroom]... so maybe they'll take it a step further and give us a proper flashback with him and Evelyn.
So I'm just thinking - Hunter knows about the Witchunters of Gravesfield. We can see him with the book in the part of the montage where he's in the bathroom by himself and in that one picture in the credits section where he's sleeping. And he knows what Caleb looks like because of the statue - he has a picture of them in the art where he's sleeping [credit section].
It is unclear whether or not Hunter asked Flapjack about him and It is unclear whether or not Flapjack even wanted to talk about Caleb with Hunter... the little guy didn't even tell Hunter he was a looking for a rebus that lead to Titan Blood - he didn't even tell him the rebus was even a rebus to begin with.
This is why I think they're going to have Hooty give the audience information about Caleb and Evelyn. It'll be more impactful that way because Flapjack can't communicate with words and only Hunter can understand him. TTT also wouldn't have been the right time to give Hunter this information. Hooty telling Hunter and Luz about Caleb and Evelyn could be the thing that let's Amity put two and two together about Hunter being a Grimwalker of Belos' brother. It's a bit contrived because Hunter could have just asked Flapjack about him - but it had to be done to make THE STORY more interesting and impactful.
-----
I'm going to make a correction to the above text: Hooty DID get a good look at Hunter in Hollow Mind, but didn't recall any memories of Caleb. This doesn't actually negate the possibility that Hooty could have known both of them, because it has been centuries since he's last seen Caleb.
I also need to point out: unlike in Hollow Mind, Hunter now looks MUCH more like Caleb. I also need to remind people Hunter is the only Grimwalker who looks the most like Caleb - and now he shares even more physical traits with Caleb. Hunter has the same hairstyle Caleb had in Hollow Mind [albeit Hunter's is more unkempt] and now he has brown eyes just like Caleb. AGAIN Hunter's eyes DID NOT NEED to have a color change and his hair did not need to remain long UNLESS IT WAS IMPORTANT to the story. There are no coincidences in storytelling, because all writing choices are made by living breathing people who put some kind of intention behind these choices.
Hunter's new appearance will undoubtingly cause Hooty to recall some distant memories about Caleb. I honestly do not see the writers NOT bringing up Caleb and Evelyn because they left the exact nature of their relationship ambiguous to the majority of the audience. And now that Hunter and Luz are tied to Caleb and Evelyn, by Philip literally calling them Caleb and Evelyn in Thanks to Them, they HAVE to make it clear to the audience what Caleb's and Evelyn's relationship was actually like.
I mean, the people who look at the background details already know Caleb and Evelyn were lovers. We've known since Hollow Mind, but the majority of the people - the people who are not going to go through each episode with a finely toothed comb - aren't going to know that.
They will definitely clarify it before the start of the third episode.
I also want to make a correction since i wrote the Discord text BEFORE writing this post: I believe Amity will have already put two and two together about Hunter being a clone of Belos' witch-hunting brother before she even hears the story about Caleb and Evelyn... If she even hears Hooty's story about them to begin with.

6. Okay, I'm going back to point number 4a: Now that Hunter’s integrity is involved in Luz’s and Amity’s relationship drama Luz HAS to tell Amity the truth.
This is interesting to me because the only other person that's ever been involved in their communication issue is Hunter. All the other times it was only Luz’s integrity on the line. So, this ties back to Eclipse Lake where their communication issue is first presented and Hunter is involved in it.
But it's different this time around because Hunter isn't emotionally manipulating Amity to create an advantageous situation for himself. However, unlike in Eclipse Lake, Amity will interpret his answers as him trying to emotionally manipulate her and she won't be as nice to him this time around. Again, she has no reason to believe what he's saying is true, because if it was true then Luz shouldn't be afraid to tell her about Hunter accidentally finding out her secret.
Here's the thing: Amity's going to feel a certain type of way whether or not Luz tells her the truth. Because of how nervous Luz is acting with this information, Amity's going to assume Luz told him directly. That's why she doesn't want Amity to know. This is what Amity's going to assume because she's always been insecure with her relationship with Luz. This is why she tries really hard to prove over, and over again that she is "an awesome girlfriend". Amity will start to compare herself to Hunter to find out what she's missing - and it'll amp up her hyper competitiveness.
Also, from Amity's perspective it doesn't make sense for Luz to run off with only Hunter to an unknown location where they could run into a murderous dictator who wants all of them dead.
Hunter can defend himself with Flapjack, but Luz is completely powerless. Luz didn't know glyph magic can be used within a certain proximity to Titan Blood. So, Amity will not believe Luz would do something so dangerous and stupid just because Hunter didn't want anyone to know Belos could still be alive. It'll make no sense to her. So, not only will Luz confirm for Amity Hunter DID know before anyone else - she also prompted him to take the rebus from Amity, knowing that she wanted to surprise her with it.
Unlikely but i might as well put this here: She also tells Amity he did not show up to the clinic while she was going around town asking about the rebus.
Amity's issues around hyper-competitiveness not being addressed until now makes sense to me. Because it's needed to create conflict between Amity and Hunter - which forces Luz to tell Amity the truth about Hunter knowing her secret before she did. Because as we can see with Thanks to Them and like, literally every single episode that focuses on their relationship, Luz will not tell Amity unless she's forced to or someone else tells her her secrets.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7. Amity breaks-up with Luz and tries distancing herself from her. She decides to head off on her own to go look for her father and siblings. Let me remind you all: the last time she saw Alador alive was when he gave her the master controller for the Abomitrons. He stays behind to disable the Abomitrons approaching the airship wreckage. The last time she sees her siblings they're being carried off by Abomitrons. And they don't show up before everyone boards the airship. So they're most likely going to be with Odalia the next time Amity sees them.
Willow and Gus go with her because they don't want to leave Amity by herself.
Okay so, I just want to point out some red flags I see in Thanks to Them which indicate to me a break up is coming:
Amity was the most excited to show everyone at home the photobook Willow made of their time in the human realm. Alot of the pictures we see are of Luz and Amity.
Amity says Luz's line from KKKOHD - the episode where they started dating. That is an odd line to bring back and put RIGHT BEFORE she tells Luz "but no more hiding okay?". Because the thing is, Luz is not going to tell Amity about Hunter knowing her secret before she did. And it's going to be Amity "The Awesome Girlfriend" who breaks it off with Luz. So this line is going to hit the audience extra hard once Amity - the "Awesome and Supportive Girlfriend" has had enough of Luz lying and keeping secrets from her. Amity is going to be the one to break it off because she is the only character who gets worried or upset when Luz hides stuff from her. It's literally shown to us in every single episode that focuses on their relationship.
Yeah, and another thing: Amity isn't "the clueless lesbian" this braindead fanbase thinks she is. She has never been oblivious to Luz lying and keeping secrets from her. She could tell Luz was lying in FATCDP, that's why she sought out Willow for advice to begin with. She notices Luz being cagey in Reaching Out because not only is she just good at noticing Luz's sudden changes in mood - she also has very fresh memories of her being cagey from FATCDP.
In Thanks to Them she can tell Luz is bothered by something that goes beyond being frustrated with not being able to build a proper doorway to the demon realm. She wakes up in the middle of the night after Luz leaves her room to go talk to her mother, but she does not actually stop Luz to talk to her. Because ya know, Luz has never talked to her about what's bothering her even though Amity has told her [in FATCDP] she can't help Luz unless she tells her what's wrong LMAO.
Another thing: I don't see Camila's: "It's our duty to make sure your friends get back to their families" as confirmation everything is going to be sunshine and rainbows up until everyone is reunited with their families. That there couldn't POSSIBLY be a sudden group break-off before the fights with TC or Belos. Especially if it's initiated by someone like Amity - who HAS run off on her own when she's been hurt by Luz's behavior. You can see this in "Reaching Out" where she takes one of Luz's invisibility spells and runs away from her.
It would also be boring storytelling-wise to have everything go smoothly for the protagonist. Good stories don't just have the protagonist hop, skip, and jump to the plot goal without some obstacles standing in their way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8a. This where the Hexside gang is forced into two separate groups until they meet up later to fight The Collector.
Hunter and Luz are accompanied by Camila, Lilith, and Hooty. While Amity, Willow, and Gus go off by themselves, but eventually meet up with their families.
Eda and Raine are found some time after the group split off. I see this happening rather than Eda being found right away, because it creates a sense of tension. Luz misses Eda and King the most, so by having their meet-up be delayed it makes the eventual reunion more emotional.
Luz, Camila, Lilith, Hooty, Eda and Raine protect Hunter from any attempts on his life by enraged members of The Emperors Coven. Along the way they meet Darius and I guess maybe Eberwolf. This is where Hunter and Darius will reunite. Okay... I'm only half serious about this one but maybe… since Luz and Hunter already had the “Possessed Boyfriend” and “Come back to me” tropes Darius might ask Hunter if Luz is his girlfriend when Luz is out of hearing range LOL
I’m only half serious about this one, but since Luz and Hunter already have so many romance tropes associated with them I'm expecting another one to come up at some point. And who better to say it than Darius. He was the former protégé of the previous Golden Guard and he’s the only adult on The Boiling Isles who’s expressed some care for his wellbeing. And like... he's going to be a father figure to Hunter... so it'll make sense for the "Is she your girlfriend?" trope to come from him.
Maybe it's a little too mean to have this trope come up right after a Luz and Amity break-up... But Dana is setting everybody up with the incredibly ambiguous "Hunter Noceda" bullshit and has let Sarah say contradicting information about Luz and Hunter.
Like... ya'll do realize that if Dana wanted everyone to know Luz and Hunter were siblings... Zeno AND Sarah wouldn't be so ambiguous right? Dana already spoiled King and TC becoming actual friends, so why wouldn't she tell them to be less ambiguous with Luz's and Hunter's relationship? But yeah, just because I think it's mean to have this trope come up right after a break-up, doesn't mean Dana thinks it is lol.
8b. Okay, so, I've been toiling with this point for awhile. I honestly don't think they are going to go the route where the sigils are removed, because it'll undercut the generational and cultural impact of Belos' rule. Like yeah, The Collector taught Belos the draining spell, so TC could probably remove the sigils. But the writers don't need to do it because glyph magic exists. Eda and Lilith know how glyph magic works, so they've probably been teaching it to people who are brave enough to stand up to a deity-like being. They've had plenty of time to figure out the combos for powerful spells. Because glyph magic users have access to all the spells a witch or demon without a sigil would have. They just have to write them out and figure out the combination for a spell they want.
8c. I've been wondering what "For The Future" could mean. Like, yeah, it's probably just part of a line someone says after rallying everyone together to fight The Collector and Belos, but I'm wondering WHO says it. I'm thinking it's going to be Hunter, because he's the prince of The Boiling Isles. And having him say it will contrast nicely with Amity's line: "Luz, I know things are scary and I don't know what the future holds. But it would be so cool if you were a part of that."
There's no way Hunter is going to have a nice and unbothered journey to defeat Belos with his friends. Hunter's face is known to all members of the Emperor's Coven and his voice is so distinct people can recognize him out of uniform. In "Clouds Over the Horizon" Hunter "begged" Gus and Willow to help him protect Luz because he was afraid of being recognized. Darius ordered Hunter to protect Luz, but Hunter wanted them to come along. Gus and Willow were planning on going into hiding, but it was Hunter who convinced them to help him protect Luz. Kikimora has recognized him by his "annoying voice" when he was out of uniform on two separate occasions.
Sooooo yeah, I can see them dedicating time to Hunter redeeming himself in the eyes of the Emperors Coven so they AT LEAST won't attack him. Despite what a lot of people think, Hunter isn't going to go back to the Human Realm, even if Darius gives him an out. Hunter is going to want to undo all the damage he and his brother caused, which could take years to accomplish. And there will be some things he could never undue, like removing the sigils. Yes, Hunter is a child and doesn't actually NEED to clean up the mess his ADULT BROTHER made.
But it's in character for him to be disgusted by Belos' actions. Just look at the way he reacts to Belos killing and maiming people in Hollow Mind. Hunter was indoctrinated to believe Belos is infallible and that all his actions were "for the greater good" [a.k.a the Titan's Plan]. He is going to want to try to repair the damage he and his family caused over the last few centuries. That's more true to Hunter's character than having him ditch the mess he unwittingly helped his brother create just to go live a carefree life in the human realm.
See, here's something people don't get about Hunter's desire to stay in the human realm - he was trying to distance himself from his identity as the GG. [A.k.a dodging accountability for his actions as the GG and for the actions of his family.] If it weren't for Flapjack dying, Hunter WOULD NOT have gone back to the demon realm. This is how paranoid he was about people seeking justice from him. This is WHY Flapjack had to die. Hunter needed this push to return to the demon realm and take accountability for his actions as the GG and for the actions of his family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9. Hunter, Luz, Camila, Lilith, Hooty, Eda, Raine, Darius and I guess maybe Eberwolf are going to be looking for King. Then we'll get a scene shift where we see King and TC's dynamic.
King has been "friends" with The Collector for months. He knows how to push TC in certain directions to keep him placated and not go completely out of control with his powers. King hasn't gone through his "growth spurt" yet - but it's any day now - maybe any hour. He'll probably have visual indicators that it's about to happen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
10. Everyone besides Luz and Hunter will work hard to help King win his fight against The Collector.
The reason why Hunter and Luz won't be included in this fight is because Belos will isolate Hunter and Luz from the group. He's going to target them specifically because he now sees them as Caleb and Evelyn. Luz and Hunter aren't going to immediately fight Belos - but they'll be separated from their friends and trying to find a way back to them.
I've been thinking about how this fight between TC and King is going to start and Eda will most likely play a role in it, because The Owl Beast and TC are connected in some way. The Collector hunted down the Owl Beast to turn it into a "curse" for some unknown reason. So TC might want the Owl Beast back - and he might try to pry it out of Eda. Which could kill her since her curse is tied to her biology.
The Collector and King fight is going to be instigated by Belos. Since he wants to destroy everything the perfect way to do it would be to piss off the literal god-child and have him go on a destructive tantrum. I don't think he'll try possessing King because he doesn't know King is a Titan. Even if he did want to possess King and succeed in doing so, TC will literally just expel him from King's body. I don't think he'll try possessing The Collector either. TC is too risky of a target for possession, since this being can move planets with a single flick of his finger he can most likely expel him from his body. And there's a chance The Collector could sense Belos within a certain proximity, so he might not even get close enough to possess him.
The safest option for Belos is to cause a rift between King and The Collector, so that The Collector will throw a planet destroying tantrum. He's going to do it by forcing Eda and The Collector to meet.
I really don't know how this fight is going to end, but I do think Amity would play a big role in reigning in The Collector since she has been shown to be great with children. The Collector is clearly much younger than the main cast, he's around the same age - mentally and physically - as the kids Amity reads stories to in the library. I also think the writing team would give Amity this level of importance to offset her break-up with Luz.
Amity doesn't exist specifically to be "Luz's Awesome Girlfriend" - so I think they'll give her this moment as a way to keep her relevant to the story - to prevent her from getting pushed to the background since she is no longer attached to the protagonist at the hip.
So, while King will have all this godlike power at his disposal he will be at a disadvantage because he doesn't know how to use his powers properly. He also doesn't know what he's capable of. I honestly don't think he'll become the size of TBI's. In "Edge of the World", you can see the Titan skeleton in the building and the titans on the wall carvings aren't nearly as big as King's Father. Even the skulls in the shrine of the Huntsman are of various sizes - from the giant skull of the doorframe to the smallers ones littered around the shrine. So it looks like size is determined by the age of the Titan. The biggest I can see King becoming is about half the size of the skeleton in the main hall.
Another thing: King knows how to make himself invisible to The Collector. So he can teach other's how to make themselves invisible to The Collector as well. King was invisible to TC because of the symbol he carved into his collar. The symbol came from King's tower, which was carved into the tower by Kings father so that TC [and the species TC is a part of] couldn't find King. This symbol is going to be important in deciding the outcome of their fight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
11. Vee sends Luz’s palisman to The Boiling Isles. This way Luz can have some extra firepower for her final fight with Belos. I'm thinking her palisman might be sent to her in between the time Luz and Hunter are isolated from everyone else and before they actually fight Belos.
The Collector fight and the Belos fight are going to happen at the same time, but The Collector fight will start before the Belos fight does and it will end before the fight with Belos does. But not soon enough where the others have enough time to get to Luz and Hunter before Belos mortally wounds Luz. I think the battle between King and The Collector might end around the time Luz get's stabbed by Belos. Luz is 100% going to get stabbed by Belos, because not only has he nearly stabbed her in their past confrontations there's foreshadowing of it in Thanks to Them.
Tumblr media
This is where Hunter and Luz, the two witches without any inherent magical abilities, will be forced to fight Belos. I just want to point out that Luz using palisman/staff magic and Hunter using glyphs during this fight is a nice inversion. Because they’re using each other’s signature magic style.
I think they'll go this route rather than have the Belos fight be a group battle. Not only does it add more tension to the fight by having two characters with no inherent magical abilities fight against a villain with supernatural capabilities - it also makes sense from a narrative standpoint to have Hunter and Luz be the only ones to take out Belos.
Because Hunter and Luz represent Caleb and Evelyn - it's unambiguous as of Thanks to Them. If the Caleb and Evelyn parallels weren't important, they would have never been brought up in the show... but they have been brought up and they are tied to Luz and Hunter specifically. This entire story was started by the actions of two lovers with ties to the main villain, so it only makes sense for the story to be concluded by two characters who represent those lovers AND have meaningful history with the main villain.
But yeah, Luz is going to be mortally wounded by Belos and Hunter will use her palisman to defend her. I don’t think Hunter is going to deal the final blow - it’s going to be Luz. Hunter is going to give her an opportunity to use glyph magic to send him to his death/a fate worse than death before she loses consciousness from her injury..
As for how Hunter will bring back Luz - I honestly think the Galdorstone in his chest will play a major role in it. Hunter knows what Grimwalkers are made of. You can see him reading books about Grimwalkers in Labyrinth Runners, so I think he will use the stone in his chest + Luz's palisman to give him the power he needs to bring her back.
Grimwalkers are interesting as their "heart and power" is where the heart is supposed to be. Grimwalkers made from the bones of witches or demons most likely come with a bile sac. So to have a Galdorstone attach directly to the bile sac essentially makes the Grimwalker a force to be reckoned with. That's probably why knowledge of them faded into myth, so people wouldn't try to create superpowered witches or demons. Hunter wouldn't have that kind of magical advantage unfortunately because he's a clone of a human. He doesn't have any magic in him because in King's Tide you don't see any magic flowing out of him like you can see with all the witches and demons. The sigil was affecting him the same way it was affecting Belos.
But yeah, I can see this causing some irreversible damage to him, because the Galdorstone is his "heart and power" source. What power means is vague, but it's probably referring to Hunter's "lifeforce". The Galdorstone is most likely tied to his biology, so if he overuses it it could damage to his health. He could develop some kind of "heart" condition if he taps into it's power for too long.
Tumblr media
[There's also the chance he wouldn't be able to heal Luz completely. She might have some lingering health issues from her wounds.]
But yeah, going back to Belos: A proper fate for him would be a similar punishment TC went through: eternal imprisonment.
You know that "mirror" TC was in? According to World's Edge, only a Titan can free him from his prison. The titan trappers were wrong with their assumption that King needed to die in order for "The Great Huntsman" to be summoned. So there's a chance Belos is going to be put in that mirror and tossed into some other dimension - where he'll never be able to meet another person ever again. That particular dimension TC was in seems to be something only Titans/people with Titan Blood have access to. But the "bubble" The Collector was in seems to be connected to the mirror. This "bubble" doesn't look like something that can just be undone so easily, because if it could be The Collector wouldn't need a titan to let him out.
But the mirror might be too risky of a punishment because a Titan can stumble across him while traveling in the "in between" dimension and release him from the prison. I honestly don't think every single Titan in existence is dead. These creatures have the ability to travel across the universe by accessing the "in-between" dimension using their blood. So while Titans might be extinct on the planet The Boiling Isles resides on, it doesn't necessarily mean there aren't more scattered across the universe.
That being said, I still think they'll use Eternal Imprisonment as a fate worse than death for him. It would be a fitting ending for him. He'll never be able to return home as the hero he always believed himself to be. The "evil" he hoped to destroy survived and will continue to persevere. He will be subjected to eternal loneliness, never to see home or his brother ever again. It's a fate he deserves and it's one I can see them giving him.
[I have been side-eyeing the way Belos put a sigil on Hunter ever since Hunting Palismen. I don't know if he did this as a weird ass "test of loyalty" kind of thing or if he did it to diminish the Gladorstones power. Hunter doesn't have magic inside him like witches and demons have. You can see this in King's Tide. When the Draining Spell is going off you can see there's no magic leaving his body like there is with the witches and demons. So, the sigil might have been placed on him to diminish the Galdorstone's power just on the off chance Hunter discovered all the glyphs. Because all the glyphs can be found in nature, with the light glyph being the hardest one to find. Belos knows all the glyphs, but he never teaches them to the GG's and he makes sure they all use artificial magic. Galdorstones enhance all magic types besides illusion magic and there's a chance these stones don't interact with artificial magic. That's why he gives the GG's artificial magic, despite every single one of them harboring a Galdorstone inside them. So if Hunter's sigil is removed, would his glyph magic be more powerful? I honestly don't think Hunter's status as a "teen prodigy" has anything to do with him having a Galdorstone inside him. I just think he's naturally good with magic - doesn't matter if it's artificial or "real" magic. Just like how intuitive Luz is with glyph magic despite not having inherent magical capabilities. It took years for Belos to figure out you can combine glyphs while it took Luz what... maybe a week or two to figure that out. I just think Hunter excelling in something that doesn't come naturally to him is more interesting than "he's a prodigy just because he has a special stone inside of him." ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12. For an ending, I really don't think they are going to go for a merging of worlds. Because it would cause severe ecological damage to TBI AND to whatever area on planet Earth they land on.
Humans would also not be cool with a landmass/dead body the size of Vermont being plopped randomly into the ocean or on another piece of unoccupied land. Also... once humans find out a race of demi-gods pulled up on their turf they are going to want them dead. Or they're going to find a way to control them in the same way Belos did.
If Luz can find all the glyphs, I'm sure other people can as well. If Mr. Puritan man can create artificial magic, which can hold it's own against "actual magic" then so can a bunch of scientists dedicated to studying TBI. They'd be able to do this with alot more ease because they have access to resources Belos could never dream of having. Humans aren't going to be particularly merciful to witches and demons, they will most likely wipe them out and take the Titan's Body for themselves.
Basically, witches and demons are fucked if they have to merge with planet Earth, because they are going to run into alot of people who are exactly like Belos LMAO.
I also don't see them going for a "Luz and Camila stay in the demon realm and Vee stays in the human realm forever" ending because I don't see King getting killed or being sent to a place he can't come back from. He also needs to live so he can keep TC in check and teach him how to respect less powerful beings. And... it would just be weird to leave Vee by herself like that lol.
The ending which makes the most sense to me is the one where Luz and her friends can go back and forth between worlds. I honestly don't see the realms being severed as a way to "protect" both realms because like... how would a separation guarantee that? The technology on TBI could advance to a point where they can create alternative power sources which allow them to travel between worlds... Or it could advance to a point where they can build spaceships to travel off world...
This ending just seems so unnecessary to me... why should Luz give up her happiness just because some assholes in the future might wanna fuck shit up? Luz doesn't have any control over how other people act... there's always going to be shitty people... so why should Luz give up her happiness for temporary safety between realms?
Like yeah, Luz's life in the human realm is getting better. Like how those new kids who approached her to invite her to the faire are most likely going to be future friends. But that doesn't mean Luz has to give up the family she found on TBI. This ending doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me and just seems so fucking cruel and boring lol.
