arc v 15-22 thoughts!!

-i forgot to say it last post, but i really really love the first op! and the ost in general is rly rly good. going to be very sad when they change the op eventually (prob around the ep 25-35 mark im guessing?) -its so funny yuya doesnt wear his school uniform at all except kinda slinging the jacket over his shoulders. all the other male students have pants that match their jacket! but fuck it hes the protag, he can wear his cargos I guess! -tbh glad shingo pointed out its unfair only yuya has pendulum cards, lol. true. (the fact yuya is upset reiji had them was bullshit! u have protag privilege! u dont even know where the cards came from! be more concerned about that!)

i always wanted to know why u hated nico di angelo but i never asked bc u dont talk abt pjo as much 🥺👉👈 (which is fair, considering how the author is)

Lord this is gonna be a long as hell answer sorry.

1) I was pretty young and impressionable when I first read the pjo books, and when Bianca got introduced I LOVED her. There was a lot about her character that spoke to me, being an older sister who had to give up a lot of things because of my siblings or because like I had to take care of them and be a second mother to them (well back then only to my sister lol but I also had little cousins who were like my siblings since everyone worked and someone had to stay with them) so like. Her dying was very traumatizing to me? Like she left to find herself and like to be able to exist as Bianca instead of as like. The sister of and etc and when she was killed off to me it felt like a punishment? And then later on I realized she was fucking fridged for Nico, to give him a reason to be edgy sad emo boy lol so I've disliked him ever since. Misandry is always the answer.

2) white gays annoy me I'm sick of them and also when I read pjo I hated the sad angsty trope Nico was all about. Maybe if I read pjo now I wouldn't mind so much? Who knows. But I remember I found him annoying and like he brought nothing new to the table, not in the way Bianca would have. God just now thinking how awesome Bianca would've been with the role Nico was given.. her befriending Reyna, being an older sister to Hazel, with a sick sword.. and it would've been such an interesting turn around given that she wanted to move on, but then Nico dies and she feels like it's her fault so she ends up trying to bring him back and it's Nico who tells her to move on and who assures her it's not her fault and that she's allowed to move on and get a life.. we were robbed in plain daylight.

Oh also as someone who's been into pjo since a wee baby I can tell you Nico fans used to be sick in the head. The way they shipped him with Percy and Jason was demented, and they would be incredibly annoying about it all like Riordan making him a main-ish character was sick, I wanted to see Piper Leo and Frank and I got percico and jasico and then they would use Hazel as a tool for his development like nahhh i hated it. I will never forget that and I still laugh a little when white ppl tell me he's their fave character like you couldn't even go for "alleged" white Percy who has more spice, is funnier.. tch.

Cynthia and Gwyneth Fluff Alphabet

A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about each other?)

For Gwyneth, what she finds attractive about Cynthia is her desire to improve the lives of everyone she knows, her warm smiles never fail to brighten up her days when she sees them, her protectiveness of everyone she considers family and most importantly she loves her pure unfiltered kindness

For Cynthia what she finds attractive in Gwyneth is her constant determination to complete any goal that she has set for herself, her gentleness when consoling Cynthia once her nightmares start truly getting to her, her passion about everything she does and most of all how Gwyneth is always there by Cynthia’s side without fail

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

Both Cynthia and Gwyneth absolutely want kids and soon after they get married they start having kids despite their hero career still being a very present presence in their lives. Their daughters is the spark needed for Cynthia’s self worth to become much better and her fire to shut down the Fuego-Jinn Foundation turns into an inferno to not let them hurt her daughters

C = Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

Gwyneth loves it when Cynthia holds her tightly with all of her arms and runs her fingers through her hair as they sit by the fire enjoying the peace they have in the moment. Cynthia loves being able to curl up with Gwyneth and know that nothing will be able to hurt her when she is with her

D = Dates (What are dates with them?)

Cynthia and Gwyneth prefer nice peaceful dates which usually means picnics at Sentinel Park when there is not much people around which allows them to focus entirely on each other and just enjoy the time together

Gwyneth is everything to Cynthia; her world, her anchor, her light in the darkness and the same goes for what Cynthia is to Gwyneth, both of them will destroy anything that hurts the other with barely any hint of mercy for who they are fighting

F = Feeling (When did they know they were in love?)

Cynthia realized that she loved Gwyneth when they were both 16 years old and she noticed Gwyneth kept supporting her through everything she did and tried to make Cynthia realize that her family should not and does not define who she is or what she deserves, it was all of these on top of many little things like Gwyneth always being the first to say happy birthday to her every year or always offering to help when something was frustrating Cynthia

Gwyneth knew she was in love with Cynthia shortly into their sophomore year when Cynthia kept sticking up for her when people in their class tried to put her down for her fixation on flowers and science.Cynthia also made sure Gwyneth knew she could count on her always, no matter what.

G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

Oh definitely, Especially Cynthia after she got her powers but before Gwyneth did was incredibly gentle, barely there caresses, always making sure the other is okay with kisses and holding hands and never forgetting to ask if it’s alright not even once.

H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

They entwine their fingers tightly together, Gwyneth is always on Cynthia’s left side when they hold hands which is a subconscious act to protect the side where Cynthia was impaled by Fracture.

I = Impression (What was their first impression?)

They first met when they were three years old and their first impression of each other was rather simple as expected, Gwyneth thought Cynthia looked like she would be cool to have as a friend and Cynthia liked how Gwyneth wanted to help care for the flowers at the preschool and thought she was very nice because of it.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

Neither of them get jealous, they both know the other loves them truly and unconditionally and would never betray them by actually accepting any romantic advances by other people

K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

Their kisses are very gentle and incredibly sincere which is very obvious to anyone who gets the privilege of seeing them kiss. Gwyneth is the one who initiated the first kiss when they both aced their final exams of their junior year and out of sheer excitement she grabbed Cynthia’s hands and kissed her suddenly.

L = Love (Who says 'I love you' first?)

Cynthia is the one who says i love you first, She did so when she first asked Gwyneth to be her girlfriend and just info dumped everything she loved about Gwyneth and just would not stop until she was completely out of breath

M = Memory (What's their favourite memory together?)

Cynthia’s favourite memory of them together is when they finally moved in together and they got to decorate the whole house however they wanted which of course resulted in both of them getting paint all over their clothes and going into laughing fits over it.

Gwyneth’s favourite memory of the two is the moment when Cynthia fully trusted her to help her be a hero and told Gwyneth all of the secrets that she was forced to hold back in fear of her getting hurt because of them.

N = Nickel (Do they spoil one another? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

Oh absolutely they both spoil the everloving hell out of each other; massages, making each other’s favourite foods all the time, drawing a bath right before the other gets back from work, all that good stuff to spoil your S/O with and they would 100% get anything the other wants without any hesitation at all.

O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)

Red and Blue remind Cynthia of Gwyneth because of the red streaks in her hair, her blue eyes and the blue of her hero suit. All of these comfort her when she sees them

Green, purple and gold are the colours which always reminds Gwyneth of Cynthia because of her lime green hair streaks and her gold and purple eyes which very few people in their dimension have ever seen.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

Gwyneth calls Cynthia Cynnamon which is obviously a combination of Cinnamon and her name Cynthia which actually came about when Cynthia tried to make Gwyneth’s favourite cake, apple upside down cake and the container of cinnamon wouldn’t shake any cinnamon out so in her infinite wisdom Cynthia raised it above her head and gave it several firm smacks which as expected covered her in cinnamon right as Gwyneth walked into the kitchen Cynthia calls Gwyneth Cariad which is a welsh word meaning love, sweetheart or darling and is the first word Cynthia learned in Welsh when she wanted to impress Gwyneth by learning Welsh

Q = Quaint (What is their favourite non-modern thing?)

Interestingly enough they like to collect old recipe books from decades or centuries before they are born to try and decipher the recipes within and see if they can make them properly

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

They like to cuddle up under a blanket by the fire while having some hot chocolate and eventually falling asleep in each other’s arms until the rain stops. Alternatively Gwyneth will read a book aloud as Cynthia holds her gently

S = Sad (How do they cheer each other up?)

Cynthia cheers up Gwyneth by asking about flower facts until Gwyneth’s mind is off what caused her to be upset in the first place then Cynthia makes hot chocolate for her before talking about random stuff to get Gwyneth to laugh Gwyneth cheers up Cynthia by showing her how the lives of the people she has saved has been improved due to her influence on them and reassuring her about how great she is for the things she does voluntarily.

T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)

They like to talk about what they did at their jobs, Cynthia prefers talking about her fitness instructor job more than her CEO position of Parker Industries, Once the two join The Cluster they also tend to talk about all the members and how despite how different they are from each other they all work together to make sure the dimensional cluster is safe from threats.

U = Unencumbered (What helps them relax?)

Just being with each other helps them relax, they both have things that never fail to make them panic or be filled with stress and only the other knows exactly how to calm them down quickly when they pop up and make them feel safe again when they are more coherent.

V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

Gwyneth loves to show off her garden and all the flowers she helped make and you better believe she is so proud of it all. She is also very proud of Cynthia for everyone she has helped with Parker Industries and hero work

Cynthia has a photo album of all the achievements she and Gwyneth have done in their lives and she likes showing it off to people who visit their house to make them learn how great Gwyneth is with a side effect of them learning how great Cynthia is.

W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)

Gwyneth is the one who proposes a month after Cynthia starts therapy with Cheesecake. She proposes at the Flaming Grove, Their friend Nico’s restaurant, when the full moon was at its brightest cause Gwyneth thought it would be nice if she got the moonlight to shine on them when she proposed.

X = Xylophone (What's their song?)

Cynthia and Gwyneth’s song is Protector by City Wolf which while at first you may think is from Gwyneth’s POV it can also be from Cynthia’s POV when Gwyneth also goes through bad times

Y = Yes (Do they ever think of getting married/proposing?)

Absolutely, while Cynthia’s self-worth is absolutely low, she definitely wants to marry Gwyneth but she is not certain if she even deserves to do so but she will not say no if Gwyneth proposes to her. Gwyneth on the other hand is damn sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with Cynthia and swears that one day she will make Cynthia realize that her past actions or her family have no impact on what she deserves

Z = Zebra (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)

Both Cynthia and Gwyneth are very much cat people so would definitely get at least one cat at the first chance they get, the fluffier the better in their eyes to cuddle with at night or close to the fire in winter.

A-About, what about you made them want to marry you?

The affection that they showed V made him want to marry them. Just showing they cared by reminding him to take care of himself, to eat, get enough rest, and even the moments where their skin brushed against his own made his heart flutter. And he makes sure to return the favor.

B-Baby, would they want kids with you as soon as possible?

V wouldn’t mind having kids from the get-go, however, he does ask his partner what they wish. If they wish to have children later, he’ll understand and not press the issue. He knows children are a very big responsibility, and communication is key.

C-Celebration, how would they celebrate your anniversaries?

A picnic on the beach late at night with an extra blanket in case they get cold. For one, it speaks to V’s aesthetics, while for another he loves how the moon and stars reflect off the water and his partner’s eyes. The sounds of waves crashing against the shore also set the mood, along with a few candles. Also, he’s fond of engaging in a childish splashing war against his partner, as it makes the prize, a kiss, all that much sweeter.

D-Divorce, how would they handle if you wanted a divorce? What caused it?

A divorce would just shatter this poor man. V is the type to throw his whole being into marriage and would do whatever he could to try and make it work. However, if the marriage makes his partner unhappy regardless, he is willing to let them go as their happiness matters more to him than his own. As for what caused it? Probably his Devil Hunter lifestyle.

E-Earnest, are they serious about your marriage? Or can they be a little immature about it?

V is 100% serious.

F- Favorite, what was your favorite things before and after you got married to each other?

His favorite thing is just having the time to surprise his partner by showing up on their doorstep with a small trinket or something that caught his eye and reminded him of them. As they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder. After they’re married, his favorite thing is to come home and relax with them on the love seat and read aloud his favorite poems, or theirs, or even a novel or two depending on his mood. And if they have kids, he greatly likes hanging out with them, too, and asking about their day.

G-Giving, do they spoil you?

Not in an over extravagant way, no. V is all about giving his partner praise when it’s due, and maybe teasing them with light kisses that have them begging for more, along with light cresses. V also tends the spoil them by always having their favorite flower(s) on hand. No one, not even Griffon, knows where he gets them from.

H-Honeymoon, what did you two do for your honeymoon?

One thing for sure they did was visit The Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge, Cluny Museum - National Museum of the Middle Ages. V is a sucker for the Gothic and loves strolling through the place. He even geeks out a bit, which is so cute to watch. Also, the Louvre Museum is a must as well as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Paris Underground Catacombs. Be ready for V to actually scare his beloved while in the catacombs, or even sneaking them away to a private alcove for a quick kiss or two.

I-Invest, how much do they contribute to your marriage?

V contributes a lot to the marriage and expects his partner to do the same.

J-Jealous, do they still get jealous even though you’re completely theirs?

It doesn’t happen as often as it did when they were just dating, however, the little green monster sometimes rears its ugly head when someone blatantly hits on them even though it is obvious they are married. V has threatened others more than once that has come to his partner with unwanted advances, which Griffon gleefully helps with.

K-Kiss, how often would you two kiss? Do you still have that spark?

V’s not gonna outright pull his partner into a deep kiss in the middle of the street or anything, though he may place butterfly kisses on their fingertips or kiss their knuckles, which always sends his partner into a flustered mess. So yeah, there’s always a spark, regardless of the kiss.

L-Live, where would you two settle down at?

V would prefer a home out in the countryside. Maybe a cottage or ranch style home... Though he isn’t opposed to converting a place into a home, mainly if it has an interesting history or something. Like an old church or maybe a classic schoolhouse.

M-Make, do they still make your heart flutter after years of marriage?

Oh yes, V will always make his partner’s heart flutter even after years of being married. He lives for it.

N-Never, what is something they would never do?

Cheat. V is very much a faithful man. He always would never harm his partner either.

O-Opportunity, do you two still get the opportunity to be intimate with one another?

For sure. V just has Kyrie and Nero babysit the kids when they wanna do the naughty.

P-Pet names, what pet names do you two give each other?

“Dear” “Sweetheart” “Love” “Darling” “Beloved” etc are all types of nicknames V calls his partner. His partner mainly calls him “Pretty Boy” “Poe” or, just to be funny, “Sweeny Todd” or “Ichabod” just because it seems to fit (and not that V could totally pull of either of those Johnny Depp characters, what are you talking about?).

Q-Quiet, do you two keep quiet about your marriage? Or do you always brag about one another?

V keeps it relatively quiet. He’s not one to really brag about it, however, if someone asks or needs clarification, he won’t hesitate to say “Yes, [Name] and I are happily married to each other.”

R-Romance, how do you two keep your romance alive?

Candle lit dinners and evening strolls help.

S-Selfie, would they take multiple pictures of you? Would they save them on their phone?

V has a few photos of both of them together on his phone and about 10 or so of just his partner. One of which is his partner reading under a maple tree during late fall when all the leaves have changed color. It was so beautiful that he made it his lock and home screen. In contrast, his partner has hundreds of V, and they have yet to figure out their favorite of just him, but they adore the one Nico took of them carving pumpkins together, with Griffon passing judgment at V’s pumpkin.

T-Teenagers, do you still act like teens when you’re older?

A bit. There are just some things that V cannot help but get giddy about, mainly Halloween. Around that time it is like everything froze from back when they were younger and getting to relive those moments over and over.

U-Unrelenting, what hasn’t stopped since you two got married?

V picking up little trinkets from the times he’s gone on his Devil Hunting missions. Without fail, he always brings something back that reminds him of his partner.

V-Valentine’s Day, what plans do you two make?

V always plans for them to either see a concert, be it classical or rock music, or a play/opera before going out to eat. One year it might be all dressing up and glam, while the next its more down to earth and homey.

W-Wedding, what was your wedding like?

You’d think it’d be this small classy affair... Nope, V is just as prone to the dramatics as the other DMC guys are. V wanted a small outdoor wedding that seemed like something out of a renaissance romance. Everyone would’ve expected fairies and elves being apart of it if they didn’t know any better.

X-X-Ray, can you two see through each other? Can you see when you’re lying or not?

Given that he’s pretty perceptive, V has an easy time reading his partner, though, on the other hand, his partner has a hard time reading V because he is so good at bottling up his real feelings. They just trust that with time he will come to them in his own time.

Y-Yearly Tradition, what do you two do every year for your wedding anniversary?

Normally travel to places that are rich in history and art and explore, similar to their honeymoon.

took me a little while to warm up to it idk why maybe because its not as up tempo and its a shonen and i want to get hype but i love it now. love the part where the camera pans around team 7 fighting randos they are babies… also its so funny when sasuke holds out his hand to naruto to help him out of the lake and he jsut fist bumps him. gay boy

DO you remember that long lost DREAM!!!!!!!!!!

BLUE BIRD YA BANGER ok the whole symbolism. when naruto falling next to sasuke rising is positioned like yin and yang lol. when naruto is falling from the sky but then sasuke comes to mind and he springs into action lol. ok random people from the fillers i dont care about. naruto fell in the lake he picks up the bird feather interspersed with a couple shots of sasuke horgh. additional reading: paper bag by fiona apple

closer is one of the ones where im like eh its ok its not my favorite and then it gets to the chorus and my dumb ass is jsut screaming YOU KNOW THE CLOSER YOU GET TO SMETHING THE TOUGHTER IT IS TO REACHIT. the funniest part where narutos moping and thinking of sasuke and then he just perks up and smiles at the camera like. gay boy. like getting to see the asuma fight scenes in this op, also it was so funny seeing him get all the screentime in this op knowing hes about to die like yeah very subtle

signs another one of the ones where im like eh whatever its fine but not my fav but by the chorus i am standing on the table freaking out. like fuck jiraiya but this one got me a lil. the lighting and choreography of the sasuke itachi fight bit is sooooo nice and pretty, love getting to see all the new players in the story. baby ame orphans fading to the shot of yahiko as pain.. :(

this one literally makes me cry. i get chills what the fuck. definitely one of my favs. am i a bitch? maybe. i like the song by itself but like the way the rise/general shape of the melody flows with the visuals its like oh god oh fuck. again fuck jiraiya but like the role his character serves as a link between these disparate groups of people and the way thats used in this opening… how it starts and ends with him writing and this is the arc where naruto reads tales of a gutsy ninja and he learns about how he got his name and jiraiya wrote the book and hes WRITING and im going CRAZY!! i’m starting to tear up watching it rn. the shot of konan and the pains in that moment just before they leap forward. Sayonaaaaaaara aa lksasldfkwpoeifjhnuerIELFeuiertekdjsnlfweiourbg kakashis moment is cool in this op. also love to see the girls getting fight scenes in this op cus they sure dont in the actual show LOL anyway yeah im at the part where the melodys just hitting sooo different oh my god naruto frog eyes

DIVERRRRRRR. FAV literally like naruto is drowning. hes drowning and everyone is pushing him up so he can breathe again everyone is fighting to save him and thnen he s ouf ot the water and then he sees sasuke drowning and he JUMPS BACK IN. FOR ONE PERSON EVEN THOUGH ALL THESE OTHER PEOLE were working to help him out he dives back in for SASUKE whos drowning in the eyehole of obitos mask which is cool. ok yeah this is another one where im like tearing up because THe cymbal is em….. the way The movement of the visuals is choreographed with the song is so much. nico TOUCHED the fucking walls.

this one kinda annoys me i dont know why it just wasnt my favorite. love the sasuke and naruto staring at each other intensely moment though, would this be a shippuden opening without that. also the part at the end where sakura holds up her kunai and it like slashes and covers sasuke and naruto… inch resting…

newsongs so weird i love it. like what the hell is going on. why is naruto running like hes from some weird gmod video from 2013. love the LITERAL choreography, everyone dancing to the song like this is a musical. theres just a lot of weird moments which is fun. love sai naruto and sakura making the seal together to shoot lightning. raikage leaping gracefully across the beach

i do not enjoy this one. i just dont. it just feels like we’re bootlicking which of course we are because this is the war arc and everything is a nightmare

i remember seeing the first episode with this opening and i was excited bc its like… great another naruto pining for sasuke one this is what im here for. a light banger. minato manlet monday. ohh right this was the one where gaara sees his dad again and his OH I SEE SASUKEE

Banger! nico did indeed touch the walls again. i like that this one is like visually thematically consistent thru the whole thing, i like the nighttime dimly lit atmosphere with the bursts of brighter colorful lighting, also whenever i see tsunade i freak out. narutos cute at the end

SUCH A BANGER!!! also very cool visual style, appreciate it for that like the last one, its got that pretty consistent aesthetic with the red sky and the high contrast black blocking its fun and cool to watch. did i mention the song is a bit of a banger. obito passing thru the rock is cool too bad hes an idiot

ok from this one there were two lines i remember always seeing in the english sub that made me freak out. and one of them was like “this red hot love burning my heart” and it was over kakashi and obito fighting like damn OK. also the “i put the candle out with my finger” thing sticks in my head idk why. hate that we have the narutos big meaty claws i mean manly hands moment though. omg its hashirama and madara and then it CUTS TO SASUKE AND NARUTO IN THE SAME POSE LOL OK…

SILHOUETTE IS a banger… not as much so as some of the others but its a lot of fun. very colorful op, we got some naruto pining for sasuke, classic. also love the thing where ppl are running and they age as they do and they sort of grow into their present selves, a fun visual bit. the end where narutos like obito be nice now look at all these people behind me who think youre a meanie please be nice :(((((((((

another one with a really good visual principle ugh i love how the style of the show is integrated w the styles of more traditional printmaking its very swexy and nice to look at

LINE uugrgh i love this one, maybe a fav… naruto chasing after the light and sasuke trying so hard to snuff it out as they both reflect on their memories of each other oh god oh fuck… also i love the bits where it just has all the characters in a row like it reminds me of that one post about how in the endgame trailer they had a shot of all the female characters together to be like Girl power!! and someone was like yeah thats them showing u exactly how many women theyre going to disrespect LMAO but yeah i do love this op. also the song itself being slower w/ the triplet tempo is a nice change of pace
