YOUR NUMBER, TO GO .ᐟ
ft. kento nanami
cw : fluff. bakery owner! reader. nanami being absolutely smitten with you.

Tumblr media
nanami absolutely despised work environments. he didn’t like the exhausting feeling of sitting in an office, day to day, with nothing but papers and an annoying ring of the telephone to keep him company. he didn’t enjoy the daily routine of work, eat, work again, sleep, repeat. it was getting far too repetitive, and quite frankly, boring. how could he enjoy anything when work was always in the way?
that was until he spotted the cute little bakery on the corner during his lunch one day, practically calling his name to come inside.
as fate would have it, he entered through the dainty doors out of pure curiosity, and with the “—ding!” of a bell, he was greeted with the brightest, cheery smile he thinks he’s ever come across. the excited “ welcome! ” and delicious pastries reeled him in like a fish on a hook, met with a sweet girl dressed in an apron behind the counter. nanami believes he may have just found a gold mine.
he browsed the desserts from behind the glass case, unsure of what to decide on. the strawberry scones? maybe tiramisu? wait, there’s chocolate chip cookies too? he was stuck in his thoughts, options seemingly endless.
and you, an angel sent down to earth, began to speak again, tone sweet like honey, “ first time here? i can recommend you a few things if you’d like, sir. ”
nanami left with an entire box of pastries that day, and he didn’t have one single regret.
the next day, the same situation followed. and the day after, and again after that. his own legs began to betray him, automatically leading him straight down the path to your beloved bakery every time the clock hit 11:15. soon enough, he became one of your most loyal regulars.
you were incredibly warm and inviting. a breath of fresh air, giving him the push he needed to continue through his primitive work day. lunch time was his secret guilty pleasure, which was getting to buy some sweet desserts from an even sweeter girl, who called him “ mister nanami ” as she welcomed him in with a honeyed hello. over time, nanami started to realize that not only were you a pleasant person, but you were also incredibly endearing.
that now leads nanami to his latest predicament, which was how to ask for your phone number without looking like an idiot.
it starts with him showing up to your shop, dressed in his usual work atire, you looking in his direction at the sound of the bell. he makes his way to the display case, mind still whirring with what he should say.
“ oh! mister nanami, i have a new treat today! would you like to try one? ”
nanami is snapped out of his churring decisions, turning to you as you hold out a tray of what you had decided to make today. ah, strawberry sundaes.
“ oh, i’d love to. ” is what he responds with, smiling as you nod your head, taking one to neatly package up for him.
nanami watched your soft, delicate hands wrap his dessert in a pretty cellaphane, all the while you hum to yourself in content as you tie a bow to close it off. your soft humming to the tune that plays like a melody is all too enticing, and— oh, he’s staring. you’ve really got him wrapped around your sugar coated fingers, without a single idea of it. nanami curses himself, really, for not being man enough to grab your phone number before this. hm, how improper and cowardly of him.
“ here you are ! please, tell me how it tastes. i tried a new recipe ! ”
nanami is about to hit his thirties and yet, he feels like a child with the way his heart rate picks up at the sound of your voice. he shovels the comically tiny spoon into the sundae before taking a bite with everything on it.
you’re beautiful and you surely can make a mean sundae. that’s one thing for certain.
“ it’s delicious, as always. how much do i owe you ? let me grab my wallet— ”
“ it’s on the house ! ”
and another thing, you were just so damn generous.
“ i couldn’t possibly— ”
“ mister nanami, i insist ! you’re here almost every day, it’s the least i can do for my favorite customer ! ”
oh ?
nanami thinks all of his logistics may have been thrown out of the window, because the second he heard the implication of him being your favorite customer, accompanied by the precious blush that covers your cheeks, he really doesn’t mind being bold for once in his life.
“ ah. well i don’t want to be greedy, but i wouldn’t mind having something else on the house… ”
“ of course ! anything at all really, what would you like ? ” you innocently asked.
“ is your phone number on the menu ? ”
not a day in nanami’s life would he of ever expected himself to use such a cheesy pick up line on the sweetest girl, but when he sees that same old smile that drew him to you in the first place, he doesn’t regret it one bit.
“ for here or to go, mister nanami ? ”

pairing: Art Donaldson х f!reader
warnings: 18+ smut, p in v, cheat?
English is not my first language, sorry about mistakes
- Would you fuck me, Art? - You ask point-blank, causing Art to choke on his drink. - If it weren't for Patrick, would you have fucked me?
This conversation should not have happened. You didn’t want to go to this party, but you forced yourself to come. You didn’t want to discuss your relationship with anyone, but Art knew about your last fight with Patrick and approached you himself.
And now, after three bottles of beer and a sincere conversation, you find yourself asking a similar question and understand that stopping now is not an option.
You looked at Art so intently, so alluringly, that he simply could not lie to you. And he decided not to lie, finally admitting how much he was attracted to his friend’s girl.
- I would fuck you right now if you asked. - Art whispers this on your lips.
The air around you becomes heavier every second, you feel the familiar heat in your lower abdomen and lick your lips, only attracting the attention of the man’s gaze to you.
- Would you fuck me?
- Yes. - You answer, perhaps, too quickly.
- If it weren't for Patrick, that's right?
- No. I... I would fuck you now, right here... If you asked me.
Your words seem to have broken Art Donaldson. He looks at you silently, thinking about what he heard. He should leave right now: you're his friend's girlfriend, you're a little drunk and upset, you can make mistakes.
But you still look at him, just five minutes ago you said that you were tired of Patrick and wanted to change something. Does this mean you're leaving Patrick?
- Ask me, Art... - Everything except you loses the sound. How can he refuse you? Art has wanted you, you was so close and yet so far away.
Art is a strong man, with a well-trained will, but even he is now ready to break. All he wants now is to be close to you and he doesn't care about the consequences.
- Let's go. - You accept his hand without objection and follow the guy, noting how soft his skin is. Patrick's hands were heavy and hard, Art's were not like that. Having pushed away this comparison, you turn to the crowd, no one seems to care that you are going up to the second floor.
- Whose room is this? - You lean your back on the door, Art leans towards you, otherwise your whisper would not be able to be heard.
- Guest room. Did you lock it?
You pull the handle twice, wanting to check for sure. After making sure that you won’t be disturbed, I quickly take off my shoes, embarrassed to wear shoes in someone else’s house, and sit down next to Art.
- Are you sure? - Art wanted to know for sure, he had to make sure that you really wanted this.
- More than. And you?
- And I. Can I kiss you? - You push back a strand of hair from your forehead and nod, submitting to the tennis player’s touch. Art kisses your neck, his open mouth exploring your hot skin and his hand squeezing your bare knee, not going any further.
- Don't be afraid, I don't bite painfully. - You giggle, seeing only tenderness and affection in Art’s eyes, not a hint of mockery or playfulness, as was often the case with Patrick.
- I’ll be ready to endure even if you take a bite out of me. - Art strokes your cheek with his thumb.
You reach for the next kiss and lightly bite the man’s lip, trying to force him to open his mouth. Art's tongue is very warm and tastes like a mixture of cider and something bitter. He glides weightlessly, pulling you into a long and affectionate kiss and you move easily, feeling his tenderness embrace you.
- I’ve always wanted you... - Art rests his forehead on your shoulder and runs his nose along your skin. - Patrick just... Damn.
- Hey... - You lift Art’s face by the chin. - He's not here, you know? Patrick is an asshole and we both know it. Looks like I picked the wrong guy...
You push Art onto the bed and sit on top of him. The mention of your arrogant and stubborn boyfriend (ex-boyfriend) made you angry and added courage.
- We don't talk about Patrick anymore, okay? - Art nods, watching you in fascination. - Fine. Now touch me.
You begin to pull off Art’s shirt, your hips rise and the man immediately puts his hands on your legs, stroking the skin and rising higher and higher.
- I don’t think we’ll need that. - You unbutton the tennis player’s light trousers and pull them down along with your underwear just enough to free half-erect cock.
- I... Please. - Art whines underneath you, which can’t help but make you grin, you haven’t even touched him yet. - Please, I want it so much...
You take the penis in your hand and make a few slow movements. The soft skin pleasantly rubs against your hand, with your other hand you would grab Art’s balls, he almost jumps on the bed and shamelessly moves his hips towards you.
- My poor baby... - You coo over the already hard member and lubricate the droplets from the red tip with excitement. - No one has touched you for a long time, right?
Art looks at you pleadingly, he is ready to ask, beg you, but you yourself are already on the verge and won’t be able to tease him for long. Especially when Art gets his finger under the hem of your underwear...
- Oh shit! - You stop all actions, and, lifting up your dress, you move your underwear and push yourself onto Ard Donaldson’s dick.
- God! - He opens his eyes wide and squeezes your hips so hard that you are sure that the dress was torn.
- You're so big... - You didn't lie, Art's dick isn't as long as Patrick's, but his girth stretches you out much better. - So good, Art.
A man bites his lip when he hears his name from your lips, it is one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. You both breathe heavily, getting used to the feeling of complete intimacy, you suddenly realize that you are not using a condom (if you believe Patrick’s stories, Art has never been with anyone at all).
You wiggle your hips, smiling predatorily at another hoarse moan, you always liked men who were not shy about the fact that they were receiving pleasure, and Art, with his heightened sensitivity, was just like that.
You lower your hot palms onto his chest, play with the short blond hairs and lean on him, starting to lift your hips.
Art huffs and whines beneath you, his strong hands gripping the blanket until his skin turns white. He doesn’t take his eyes off you, trying not to close his eyes from the pleasure that you and your beautiful velvet pussy give him, which hugs him so tightly that you want to howl.
- I feel you so deeply... - You push back the unruly hair from your face and smile, it was always nice to be filled, especially with Art. With him you feel a certain exclusivity; he seemed to be in inhuman bliss.
- Please, I... Damn! - Art sharply raises his hips and you hear a loud slap with which your bodies met.
- Touch me. - Art immediately slides his hand between your bodies and rubs your clitoris with his thumb. You spread your legs wider so he can see exactly how he slides in and out of you. - It’s so nice, Art.
His name sounds like a song from your lips and Art moves his hands to your waist, helping you move faster. He feels his own dick twitching and tries not to cum at the moment when you squeeze him especially tightly.
- I'm going to cum. - Your voice trembles and you moan, throwing your head back. - Do not stop...
Art continues to move inside you, cumming profusely and swallowing all his sounds, wanting to listen to your delicious sighs longer. You feel a mixture of your secretions flowing out of you, you feel how Art becomes softer inside you. You feel like you did everything right.
- I think we need to call Patrick. - You're breaking the "We don't talk about Patrick anymore" rule. - I'll take my things.
- I will help you. - Art gently traces circles on the skin of your thighs, the fact that you were still connected did not bother either of you. - I have plenty of space at home.

Tumblr media
It’s your first time wearing that skirt. You’ve had it in your closet for two years. At least. You’re not really a skirt person but it’s cute. The floral on black with the zipper up the front. It drapes nicely enough though you’re not used to wearing anything so short. You have a trusty pair of shorts on just in case.
You don’t go out either. Definitely not to places like this. You keep an arm across your middle, gripping your other as the hordes of people make you dizzy. The shining gold accoutrement of the decor along with the waft of low music over the noise of tables and voices add to your vertigo.
The casino is busy and bright and loud. You stay close to your sister as she leads you across the carpet; ivory with golden curliques patterned across them. You’re no gambler either but you’re not there to play cards.
“I think it’s upstairs,” Roxie says as she looks at the tickets in her hand. “Gala Room B.”
“Oh, right,” you murmur and smile at her, “what’s the band again?”
“Don’t worry about it the tickets were free,” she chirps as you look up at her. You feel even more a child beside her; your height often adds to your inferiority complex. Historically, you think, those characteristics have been often intertwined.
“No, but--”
“You need to get out of mom’s place more,” she chides, “I could’ve brought Katie instead, but I chose you, sis.”
“I know, er, thanks,” you run your hand up to your shoulder and rub it nervously.
“Show doesn’t start for another hour. Let’s get a drink,” she insists and turns, strutting towards the long bar at the other side of the grand space. You trail after her, shrinking down even further. She turns back to you as she leans on a tall stool, “what d’ya want?”
“I don’t know. I don’t really...”
“I know, it’s one drink, how about a vodka-cran?” She suggests, “you love cranberry.”
“Um, sure, if you think that’s good.”
She sighs and rolls her eyes. She’s the wild one, not you. You know you bore her and since your parents’ divorce, years ago, you haven’t really hung out together. She went with your dad and you with your mom, since then, it’s all been a bit fuzzy.
She orders as you stand back, not wanting to get in the way of the people all around you. You lean back, rocking nervously as you glance around. You feel underdressed as you see women in cocktail dresses and men in suits. Even your sister is a stark contrast to your overly casual attire; your favourite purple cardigan and the skirt you’ve never worn.
Your eyes scan the room, admiring the golden sconces of bulbs that resemble candelabras and the gilt trim all along the wall. The more you look around, the less you belong. You don’t even know why you said yes. Well, your mom pushed you into it. Just like your sister, she keeps saying you need to get out more.
You rub your lips together and feel around your small tassled purse. It’s used, like most of your things. The thrift store is as much as your mom can afford and you still haven’t found a solid job. You worked at the grocery for a summer before they laid off half of you then did a one-day stint at a polling centre for the last municipal election. Even if you wanted to go out, you don’t have the money for it.
You pull out your chapstick and smear it around your chafed lips as you sway back the other direction. You stop short as you nearly slam into another body and you stumble out of the way of the man in his black-and-white suit. Embarrassment creeps hotly up your cheeks and you cap your lip balm and stand out of his path.
He’s taller than you. Well, everyone is. But to you, he seems huge. His suit is finely tailored to his figure though his hair seems to clash with the refined style. It’s almost to his collar but neatly parted, a shank falling forward to frame his sharp cheekbone. His square jaw is trimmed thickly with a dark beard, peppered with strands of silver and patch along the dimple of his chin. You’ve never seen anything as blue as his eyes, they are almost inhumanly vivid.
“Sorry, doll,” he touches your arm as he passes and smirks, swiftly turning his sights ahead of him.
You gulp as your shoulder hits someone else. You spin to face your sister as she offers you a glass. You take the red concoction with the short black straw sticking out over the ice cubes. You thank her as the chill seeps into your hand.
“Oof, look at him,” she leans to watch after the man in his dark suit, “damn.” You frown and look in the other direction. She scoffs and nudges you, “come on. That guy is totally stunning. Even you can see that.”
“I don’t wanna gawk at him,” you mutter, “he’s a stranger.”
“Oh, whatever, not like he’d notice,” she snips.
You scrunch up your lip and tuck your chapstick away as you peer toward the man. He goes up to a table, sliding in next to a taller woman with honey-blond hair and a shimmery dress. He rests his hand along her lower back as he chatters to her and the rest of the players around the leather trim.
“Sheesh, he’s fine,” she puts a twang on the last word, “mmph. If I wasn’t with Tom...”
“Right,” you look down at the drink and sip from the straw. You make a face and cough.
“It’s not that strong,” she slaps your back, “don’t be dramatic.”
“I know,” you clear your throat, “I just wasn’t expecting the taste.”
“Let’s go upstairs,” she points above.
“Uh, okay,” you agree to her sudden diversion. You suppose you really are boring.
You follow her up the curved stairs and along the railing that overlooks the lower casino room. Arched windows let in the night and the glow of the facade. You lean on the polished wood and peer down at the first floor; it looks even more resplendent from there. You sister puts her elbow on the railing as she looks around.
“We could stick around after, lose some money,” she says.
“I don’t... mom only gave me a twenty and I owe you for the drink.”
“Pfft, whatever, I’ll spot ya. Tom gave me some extra with the tickets,” she trills, “it’ll be fun. Play some black jack. It’ll be an experience. You could say you’ve actually done something.”
You smile, closed-lipped and tight. She isn’t wrong. It’s your first concert, for some cover band, and your first time at a casino. It’s not an exaggeration to say this is the height of your life experience.
Your eyes wander down and meet another pair. You wince. It’s that same man. He walks towards you, a certain swagger in his stride. As he peers up at you, his cheeks dimple and he winks. You wrinkle your brow and look behind you. When you turn back, he’s gone. Right, you’re imagining things.
Roxie slurps as her straw turns hollow. She’s already drained her cocktail, meanwhile you’ve barely taken a sip. She stirs the ice and hums.
“Wait here, I’m gonna get a refill,” she raises her glass.
“Oh, I can come with you--”
“Nah, just stand here,” she insists. “You’ll just slow me down.”
“Sure, uh, okay.”
You curl your shoulders inward as she walks away. Great. All alone. You avoid looking anywhere but your glass. You face the railing again and balance your drink on it. It’s not bad, tarter than you’re used to and a little burny.
You play with the black bracelet around your wrist, the band they stuck around it when they scanned your ID at the door. You suppose it’s a good idea but they wouldn’t be letting kids in here, would they? Oh yeah, the hotel is attached.
As a kid, you never went on vacations like that. No hotels, no casinos, no shows. It seems like Roxie is catching up on all of that and you’re just there. The world is so much scarier when it’s all a mystery to you.
“Excuse me,” a deep voice startles you. You ignore it, thinking it’s merely a passerby, “miss?”
There’s a tap on your shoulder and you barely save your cocktail from spilling over the edge. You clutch the glass with both hands and face the stranger. It’s that same man, with the suit and the long hair and the oceanic eyes. Something about him is familiar beyond your few earlier glances.
“I think you dropped this?” He holds up a chip with a golden 100 on it. You blink and shake your head.
“No,” you scrape out of your throat, “I don’t-- I didn’t--”
“I swear I saw it fall out of your bag,” he looks down at your purse.
“Really, I’m not... I don’t gamble.”
“Ah, well, if it’s just hanging around, might as well use it, huh?” He keeps his hand out, “maybe it’s your lucky day.”
“I couldn’t. If someone lost it...” your voice doesn’t want to go and he leans in to hear you, adding to the heat spreading through your chest. Is it the alcohol or him?
“You’re sweet, keep it,” he shoves the chip toward you.
“Please, I... I... can’t...” you wipe a hand on your skirt and clutch the fabric.
“Doll, I can’t hear you,” he says as he grabs your hand and dislodges it from your skirt, “here.”
He presses the chip into your palm. You stare at his tie then look down at the white chip with gold detailing. His hand brushes yours before he rescinds his touch.
“Erm...” you murmur dumbly and shake your head.
“My treat,” he growls.
“But...”
“Like the skirt, by the way,” he surprises you as he pinches a fold, “cute on you.”
Just as quickly as he appeared, he strides away, leaving you blankly staring after him. His broad shoulders move beyond a thick marble pillar as you hold up your drink and the chip. You just look between them.
“Hey,” Roxie approaches again, “oh, what’s that?”
“A chip...” you state plainly.
“Duh, I know. Where’d you get it?”
You look at the floor. Would she even believe you? “The floor.”
“Ooo,” she plucks it from your fingers, “awesome, “now we’re definitely having some fun tonight.”
“Rox,” you swallow and look up at her, “we should hand it in. It’s a lot of money. If someone lost it--”
“If they lost it, they can afford it,” she bobs her neck as she speaks, “live a little,” she sneers and taps your glass, “and finish your drink. Maybe that’ll loosen you up.”
You nod and recede into yourself, cradling the glass again with both hands. You put your lips to the straw and drink until you can’t anymore. She gulps straight from the brim of her glass and sighs, wiggling as she peers around.
“I almost don’t even want to see these old men play music,” she snickers as she takes in the expanse of tables flashing lights.
“Oh?”
“Relax, we’re going to see the show. You’re a horrible liar and mom will see right through you,” she sneers, “besides, I told her I wouldn’t get you in too much trouble.”

-
You were in the school hallway at the end of the day, needing to ask Chris a question. You knew he played guitar in the school band, and you didn't want to pay for lessons, so he was your best option.
As you leaned against your locker, you noticed Chris gathering his books with his brother, Nick. Unsure of how to get his attention, you tapped him on the shoulder, causing him to swear in surprise. "Shit," he exclaimed, turning to face you as Nick chuckled and glanced over.
"Hey, y/n," Chris said with a slightly awkward smile, both of your hearts racing as you stood there, unaware of each other's feelings.
"Hi.. can I ask you a favor?" you inquired, with Nick observing the interaction between you both.
Chris raised an eyebrow before shrugging, curious to hear what you were going to say. He shot a glare at Nick out of the corner of his eye, hoping Nick wouldn't embarrass him in front of you since he had feelings for you and was unsure if you had noticed.
"Well, I know you play guitar, so I was wondering if you could teach me?" You said to Chris, glancing at Nick who smirked, leaving you puzzled but choosing not to dwell on it.
Chris's eyes widened, at a loss for words. "I think he'd love to do that," Nick said, prompting Chris to playfully hit him without you noticing.
Chris looked at you, nodding with a smile, trying to appear confident instead of showing how eager he was. "I'll give you guitar lessons, but only if I get your number."
Nick's eyes widened slightly as he looked at his brother and then at you. Your heart raced even faster, and your knees felt weak. "Okay," you chuckled softly, taking out your phone to hand it to him so he could enter his number into your contacts.
His cheeks reddened slightly as he entered his number into your contacts. He couldn’t believe that the girl he liked and had been obsessed with now had his number.
“I’ll let you know which days work for me, I might be able to meet up today,” Chris said, a small smile on his lips even though he’s jumping like a kid inside.
You smiled and nodded. “Just message me,” you said before walking away to leave school. Nick laughed, but Chris just hit him on the shoulder. “You're so awkward,” Nick said before walking to the exit, with Chris following.
Matt was already home because he had lied, saying he felt ill, even though he just wanted to skip his last lesson, which was PE.
As you walked home, you received a message from him already, saying he could do around 6, which was less than two hours, and you agreed.
You couldn't believe he agreed to do guitar lessons with you. It was convenient as well, since that meant you didn't have to pay for it.
Time ticked and now it was 5:47 p.m. He sent you his address, so now you were following. All you had was your guitar and a case for it which was on your back, knowing you would probably need it.
As you glanced at your phone, you quickly recognized the location and realized you had arrived. Observing the house from a distance, you approached and rang the doorbell.
You heard soft footsteps, and soon the door opened to reveal Chris. "Hey, again," he greeted with a smile, giving you a once-over before grinning even wider.
"Hey," you replied as he gestured for you to come inside. The layout of the house was unfamiliar, but you didn't mind. "Who's there?" Another voice called out, prompting Chris to inform them it was you and to lead you inside.
You followed chris, but Matt couldn't help but speak up when he spotted the two of you, a smirk playing on his lips. "Are you two seeing each other?" he teased.
Chris let out an exasperated groan, clearly not wanting to be teased or reveal any feelings he may have for you. "Kind of, I guess? I don't know," he mumbled uncertainly as he took your hand and led you away before Matt could say more. He guided you to his room.
“Sorry about that," he says as he scans his room, remembering that he tidied up for once, but only for you. "Don't worry," you reply.
He smiles and closes his door, locking it quietly so his brothers won't interrupt.
"So, you're here for guitar lessons, huh?" He smirks as he grabs your guitar from its case and gently places it on the bed.
"Yeah, I didn't want to pay for each lesson separately, so I asked you," you explain. He nods and moves his hair out of his face.
"Electric guitar, nice," he comments as he inspects your guitar, placing it on his bed and the case on the floor to keep them out of the way.
You're not sure what to do, but he seems knowledgeable and just needs some information. "So, what do you need help with?" he asks, his eyes focused on you.
"Pretty much everything. I've forgotten basic things like hand placement for chords like G and Am, so I'm starting over from the beginning.” You answered and he just listened.
He glanced at your guitar, then rose to fetch his own. Upon returning, he placed the guitar on his lap and said, "Okay, now watch closely."
He gestured with his hand, indicating you to focus on it, then positioned his fingers on the strings. "This is Am," he stated, strumming to hear the sound. "And this is F."
He demonstrated the chords, his veiny hands visible, which distracted you from focusing on the task at hand. "Lastly, for now, this is Dm," he said.
You remained silent, observing his hands and fingers, noting that his fingers were longer than yours, leading your thoughts dirty.
"Are you paying attention?" he inquired, meeting your gaze. He sensed your lack of attention, as you were preoccupied with studying his hands. "Yes," you lied.
He playfully rolled his eyes and smirked. "So, what did I just say?" he questioned, but you simply shrugged, causing him to chuckle. "Well what I said was: can you try playing on your guitar now? But since you didn’t listen, do I need to show you again, sweetheart?"
Your cheeks reddened in embarrassment as he smiled, showing his teeth before moving your hair out of your face. "Sorry for not focusing," you said.
He heard your voice and shook his head, then looked at his hands. "I mean, I guess my hands are pretty," he said, moving his hands and even curled his middle finger and ring finger to tease a bit. "But not as pretty as you."
Your heart raced at your crush's words, his eyes on you. "Thank you," you replied, not knowing what else to say. He laughed at your reaction.
Mesmerized by you, he then asked something risky. "Sit between my legs so I can put the guitar on our laps and guide your fingers to the right chords."
You stayed silent, unsure if you could control yourself, but you nodded in agreement.
As you sat between his legs, he leaned back on the pillows and patted his chest, allowing you to rest your head there. You did as he suggested, his guitar resting on both of your laps due to the pegs were already tuned.
Your body language and scent were turning him on, but he didn't act on it. Instead, he closed his eyes for a moment, then gently took your hands and guided your fingers to the strings. "So this is G," he said.
As he taught you, you paid closer attention this time, though the close proximity led to some awkward moments with your bodies pressed together.
He repeated the instructions, noticing your increased focus. He didn't mind if you weren't fully engaged, as it meant more time to chat.
"Does this go here?" you asked, moving your finger to the correct string for F. He nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "There we go," he said.
He admired your body figure in the school uniform, imagining what lay beneath. You quickly picked up the chord, his warm breath occasionally brushing your neck, sending shivers down your spine and leaving you feeling more excited.
Soon you found playing the guitar much easier since you remembered most of the chords with his help. However, Chris was struggling.
"Y/N, can we take a short break?" he asked, feeling the need for a moment to relief himself. He was worried he might mess up everything if you noticed how hard he was. “Sure” you smiled.
He set the guitar down on the bed and then sat next to you. He knew he couldn't just get up and leave, so he tried to distract himself. "So why did you choose me out of everyone at school? I mean, there's the other guitarist in my band," he inquired.
You shrugged. "You seem better, and you're just so nice," you replied, not wanting to admit that the main reason was because you liked him. "I see," he responded.
Despite his persistent arousal, he gently hugged you. "Can I be completely honest with you?" he mumbled, to which you nodded.
"I'm incredibly turned on right now, all because of you," he boldly confessed, causing your eyes to widen as he pulled you closer so you could feel the extent of his arousal.
He looks into your eyes ever since you first looked at his. The way your body pressed against his made him bite his lip. “I swear I won't use you as a toy. I simply really like you and I mean that,” he says.
You were unsure of what to do, but felt the need to act quickly. You leaned in and kissed his lips. He froze, not expecting such a bold move, but wasted no time.
“Didn't see that coming,” he whispers against your lips before placing his hands on your cheeks, which felt hotter than the sun to you.
He slid his tongue into your mouth, cherishing every moment like you did, but soon pulled away. “You're such a pretty girl,” he whispers.
He brushed your hair away from your face and began to gently remove your shirt, making sure not to hurt you. As he caught a glimpse of your breasts through your bra, it only fueled his desire for you even more.
Despite his throbbing desire, he restrained himself and instead kissed your neck and collarbone, his hands exploring your body.
He left some marks on your skin that would result in bruises for a few days because he gave you some hickeys.
You run your hands down his back before taking off his shirt, signaling to him that you were allowing him to continue. "Chris," you say.
He hummed in acknowledgment, his eyes fixed on you. He wanted to be gentle and do whatever you desired, but he also wanted to make love to you until you forgot everything.
You put your hand in his hair. "I need you," those words were like a dream to him, never imagining he would actually hear you say them.
He gazed at you a little longer, making sure you were sincere, and found nothing but honesty. He smiled, kissed your lips once more, then started playing with your skirt before removing it, leaving you in your underwear and bra.
He admired your body, more perfect than he had imagined, unable to look away. "You're stunning," he whispered.
He kissed your neck before removing your bra, revealing your breasts to him, which drove him wild and made him desperate to be inside you.
He removed his school trousers and boxers, revealing his naked body. He was well-endowed, a bit too much perhaps, but he knew how to handle it.
“Eyes up here, darling,” he lifted your chin to meet his gaze, smirking before kissing your lips.
As he kissed you, he began to tease you through your underwear, feeling how wet you were for him, prompting him to intensify his touch without causing any discomfort.
Your moans caught Chris's attention, prompting him to remind you to keep quiet due to his brothers' presence. He trailed sloppy kisses along your neck and jawline.
He was naked atop you while you were nearly undressed. “Tell me how much you want me,” he whispered as he paused his movements, removing your underwear to leave you completely exposed.
“I need you so much,” you whimpered, causing him to chuckle darkly before admiring your femininity. “You're so beautiful,” he murmured, slowly running his fingers over your intimate area before sliding two fingers inside you, catching you off guard and making you arch your back.
He curled his fingers when he found your G-spot, causing you to moan loudly. However, he made sure you were quiet so that no one else heard except for him. "Do you like that?" he whispered.
"Yeah," you moaned in response as a smirk played on his lips. He increased the speed of his fingers, making you roll your eyes in pleasure. "You seem so vulnerable, which is actually quite arousing," he commented.
Leaving kisses and hickeys on your chest, he marked you as his own. "I need to claim what I have," he declared as he felt you tightening around his fingers, indicating that you were close.
Continuing with a rougher touch, he enjoyed hearing your moans and feeling your nails scratching his skin at the peak of your pleasure.
"I guess my hands are good for more than just playing guitar," he remarked, continuing to pleasure you with his fingers. "Cum for me," he urged, sensing that you were on the brink.
As you reached your climax, moaning loudly, he praised you as a "good girl," then withdrew his fingers and tasted your essence.
As you catch your breath, he gazes at your chest and neck, the noticeable hickeys drawing his attention. His arousal is evident as his erection throbs and pre-cum leaks onto the sheets. He kisses your stomach, sensing your skin's sensitivity. "Can I?" he asks, eager to be intimate with you.
You glance at Chris and smile, "Of course," you whisper softly, keeping your eyes on him. He locks eyes with you and leans in to kiss your lips.
His tongue explores your mouth, savoring every moment like a drug. He gently parts your legs, encouraging you to wrap them around his hips.
"You're so beautiful," he admires the feel of your soft skin against his, finding comfort in your touch. He caresses your cheek before slowly entering you. His size is above average, causing a slight discomfort as you emit a soft moan of pain and pleasure.
"It's okay, sweetheart," he reassures you, pushing his hair out of his face as he gazes down at you. He continues to ease himself inside you, eliciting a whispered expletive from you.
He began to thrust in and out of you, eliciting moans from you. "Chris... oh fuck," you whimpered. He increased the pace, not too fast as you were adjusting to his size.
Soon, he found the perfect rhythm, indicated by your pleasurable moans without any hint of discomfort. "That's it," he said as he quickened his movements.
He groaned and bit his lip, then locked eyes with you. "Do you enjoy that? How I feel inside you," he asked. "Y-yes," you stuttered, unable to focus.
"You're quite vocal," he remarked as he intensified his thrusts, alternating between rough and slower motions. He squeezed your breasts before taking a nipple into his mouth.
He gently nibbled and kissed them, leaving faint marks as you whimpered. Pulling away, he resumed faster thrusts while using his thumb to stimulate your nipple, watching as you tilted your head back.
“You close?" He asked as he felt you tightening. You let out a whimper, confirming his suspicion. "Yeah," you replied.
Knowing you were close, he gently rubbed your folds with his fingers while inside you, feeling his own orgasm building up.
"Shit, Chris!" You moaned loudly. Chris was aware that his brothers might have heard, but he no longer cared. "I know, baby," he reassured you.
You reached your climax before him, your juices soaking the bedsheets and him as he continued thrusting a few more times before releasing his hot seed inside you.
Breathing out in relief, he collapsed on top of you, resting his head on your shoulder, feeling your breasts pressed against his chest. "Good girl," he whispered before pulling out and lying beside you.
Both covered in sweat, he gazed at the ceiling before turning to look at you. "Shit, I didn't use a condom," he murmured, feeling his heart sink. However, you just chuckled.
"Don't worry, I'm on birth control," you assured him. He smiled and snuggled closer to you. "good, I was gonna panic then”
Both of you were still breathless, though less so, when Chris spoke up. "I truly mean it. I'm not treating you like a toy. In fact, I've liked you since year 7."
You gazed into his blue eyes before planting a gentle kiss on his head. "I like you too," you said, and then embraced him.
He smiled and hugged you back before teasing, “I thought you asked me to teach you how to play guitar, not for me to fool around with you.” He said, which made you playfully roll your eyes. “Shut up,” you playfully retort.

Pairing: Benedict Bridgerton x F!OC Word Count: 3.2k Tropes: mutual pining, fluff, angst with a happy ending, royalty Warnings: (eventual) canon death Summary: Two second-borns looking for direction meet by chance. Can they find purpose in each other, or will circumstance keep them apart? A/N: I do not necessarily intent to update this everyday, but then again I won't complain about it when I'm motivated enough to make it happen. Hopefully this isn't too sloppy; I wrote it on about two hours sleep, and did my edit right after a nap. So be forewarned I may have made some egregious typos. I beg your forgiveness for whatever you may stumble across in there. Also, just as a side note: My knowledge of the British aristocracy and the laws of inheritance in England at this particular time are shaky at best. Some things I will research because I feel like I can't leave it alone, but in this case I honestly do not care how historically accurate every single detail is. Again, Bridgerton is an AU, so I'll do what I want.
Benedict slumped down on the settee, arms crossed and his brow furrowed. He was all but lying down with how far he had sunk, and as he half-lay in his seat, his mind raced.
He was frustrated.
It had been days since the Danbury ball, and yet he was no closer to discovering the identity of the enchanting young woman he had met there. In these past few days, she had occupied more space in his mind than he was comfortable admitting. He needed to see her again--or at the very least learn her name.
He had been through every family he could possibly think of, but all had been dead ends. Not that he was familiar with every household in the ton, but certainly his mother had briefed him on many of the households with eligible debutantes. He thought surely one must be the home of his mystery woman.
Anthony strolled into the sitting room, an eyebrow lifting as he looked over at his brother.
"What's got you brooding so?" he asked, taking a seat next to Colin at the small, round table that had been laid out with confections. He took a jelly tart for himself as he eyed Benedict from his seat.
"I do not brood brother--you are the one that broods," Benedict corrected, wiggling himself further down the settee, "Honestly I am pouting at best."
"Then what has you pouting so, Benedict?" Colin chimed in, setting the book he had been reading aside.
Benedict thought for a moment about telling them. They were his brothers after all, and there was the possibility one of them may even have some insight into the young lady's identity.
He thought better of it almost as soon as the thought entered his mind.
There was the potential to gain valuable information yes, but the ribbing he would receive in return would be never-ending. And there was the risk of the information reaching his mother's ear. He shuttered to think what she would do if she believed he was actively seeking a wife--he saw how she was with Anthony last season.
He certainly didn't want anyone in his family to presume something so ludicrous as his desire to marry--he wasn't looking for a wife, he was only curious.
Yes, curiosity. That was all.
He decided it wasn't worth the trouble; not yet, at least. While he had no luck finding her again, at the very least he knew she was aware of him. There was a chance she may seek him out, however slime it may be. And of course it seemed very likely she would attend the next ball. A debutante newly introduced in society could hardly be kept from every dance and social engagement. Even if she herself had seemed less than taken with the last event, there was surely a pestering mama in the picture that was pushing her forward regardless.
So he would wait to speak of it with his family until he had no other options.
"I was just thinking longingly of the peace and quiet in the house while the two of you were away," he joked, his hands moving dramatically to press together, as if in prayer.
"Well now I know you're lying," Anthony smirked, "Since when did you enjoy peace and quiet?"
"It certainly sounds out of character," Colin agreed, "Perhaps he simply enjoyed having fewer people around to catch him leaving for his nightly excursions."
"Yes Colin, I think you're right," the eldest brother replied. Benedict scowled, finally sitting up straight as to address his brothers at eye-level.
"That is quite the accusation, dear brother. Care to defend it on the piste?" Benedict challenged.
Colin smirked, "Careful brother--I'm stronger than I used to be."
"Well then, perhaps after another trip abroad you may finally pose a slight challenge for me," Benedict quipped, "Shall you join as well Anthony? You wouldn't want to miss our younger brother's humiliating defeat."
"He has been rather big-headed since his return, it would be quite nice to was his ego deflate," Anthony grinned over at Colin, "For his own sake as well as ours."
"Would the two of you like to back up your boasting, or shall we sit and discuss it for another hour?" Colin huffed. Anthony and Benedict exchanged knowing smiles.
"Very well then," Benedict said as he rose from his seat, "Shall we then?"
The three brothers exited the room, pushing each other lightly and laughing as they headed for the back garden.

Beatrice slumped forward in her chair, frowning as her unfocused gaze fell to the bookshelves that lined the far wall. Her chin sat balanced on one hand, as the other absentmindedly fiddled with a page in the large book that lay on the table in front of her. She knew she would be reprimanded if her tutor--or worse, her grandmother--saw her slouching, but she was too bored to concern herself with it at the moment. She sighed, glancing down at the page she held between her fingers.
As the second child of the Prince Regent, Beatrice was fourth in line for the throne--soon to be fifth, once Charlotte's child was born. She no longer needed to prepare for a hypothetical future where she would someday need to step up and become queen. Yet still, her father insisted she continue her studies while forcing her to follow his excessively strict rules. Even convincing him to allow her stay at Buckingham House had been a struggle. Luckily, her father was rather a pushover when it came to his mother, and when the queen had insistent Beatrice be allowed to stay for the season he could hardly say no.
She straighten, only to fall back into her chair. It's not as if she disliked the act of learning altogether. There had been many times when she felt she had truly enjoyed her lessons, having looked for to many. But there were others that felt rather pointless; just tedious memorization that she would never have need for even if she were to become queen.
Studying the crest and founder of all the current noble houses, along with the family tree going back at least three generations, was not exactly thrilling.
She had found some enjoyment when she first started, flipping immediately to the section concerning a family she was now quite interested in. It did somehow feel a little like snooping, and she felt a bit guilty looking through Benedict's family history. However, she told herself it was all public knowledge, and after all it was a part of her studies.
She learned quite a lot about the family--their crest, the first Viscount's name and history, and of course the family as it stands now. It was a surprise to learn Benedict had seven siblings; she couldn't even begin to image having such a large family. Then again, her father was one of fifteen children, so perhaps eight was not so unreasonable.
After learning all she could about the Bridgertons, she moved on. She was less enthusiastic about learning anything at all about the other households, and soon she found her thoughts drifting.
It had been a few days since the ball. Beatrice had been the one to ask if she could attend, and at the time truly thought she would enjoy going. She hoped she may make a friend--possibly even two. She had been so isolated as a child, and her sister had always been little company to her. It would have been nice to talk to people her own age.
However, she had not expected she would cause such a frenzy. She hadn't realized how little people saw of the royal family at such events--with the exception of the queen, of course. It made Beatrice too conspicuous. She was a shining light of hope representing the next generation of the monarchy.
Then of course, there were the men. Knowing nothing about her, yet treating her like a prized mare up for auction. She supposed even as the second child, she must seem appealing to them. The crown may be out of reach, but her future husband would still be a prince--and of course, there were the considerable amount of riches she had access to as a member of the royal household.
Perhaps that's why she had been so taken with Benedict Bridgerton.
He had clearly not known who she was. Perhaps he had arrived late, or been out of the room when she had been announced alongside her grandmother. Either way, he seemed truly clueless to the title she carried. It made him seem so genuine compared to the others she had met that night. It had been so refreshing to be treated as her own person, rather than a royal. It may well be his motivations were less than pure, but at the very least he seemed like an honest person. Perhaps more prone to humorous banter, but still so sincere when it was needed.
This left her with a rather vexing problem.
On the one hand, he would certainly learn her identity sooner or later. It made sense to simply tell Benedict now rather than hide it from him, which may go poorly when he did eventually discover the truth. On the other hand, she had enjoyed their conversation immensely, and if he found out she was a princess after only a single meeting, he would likely feel the obligation to treat her just as everyone else did. She would lose her one chance to have a real connection with someone that wasn't singularly focused on her proximity to the throne.
If she wanted to continue hiding her title from him, she would need to find a way to see him. If they built up a friendship first, perhaps once he did learn the truth he would be less inclined to treat her differently. She was nearly guaranteed to see him at the next ball, but then she would once again be announced as a princess. Whatever caused him to miss her entrance at the first ball, she doubted he would do so a second time.
With that being the case, she either had to wait and see him at the next ball, holding out hope he may continue to act as he had before. Or, she had to see him outside of a ballroom. She couldn't bare the thought of losing an opportunity for real friendship, but of course she would never be allowed to leave Buckingham House on her own. This left her only one option.
She would have to sneak out.
---
Benedict lounged lazily on the sill of his bedroom window. His head leaned back against the wood of the frame as he gazed out over the lamp lit streets below. In his lap sat his sketchbook, filled with half-finished sketches of a lovely young woman whose face he couldn't quite capture.
Spending the afternoon with his brothers had been a nice reprieve from his mind, but night had fallen and now he was alone. There was nothing to stop his thoughts from wandering every corner of London, searching for a girl he hardly knew. Benedict threw his sketchbook to the floor with a groan, rubbing his charcoal stained hands down his face in frustration.
He felt ridiculous, being so overcome with thoughts of someone he had met only once. The mystery and intrigue of it all certainly played a part in his curiosity, but he would be lying if he said it had nothing to do with the girl herself. Such circumstances made her a novelty to be sure, but she had exhibited qualities he had not often see from those of the ton. He had replayed their conversation a hundred times at least, and he was sure now that he knew at least a few things about her character.
To Benedict, she had seemed a well of profound, thoughtful emotion. She felt things deeply and was not ashamed to show it. This was in contrast to so many in his social class, who held propriety above all things; even their own feelings.
She had been shy, but still wasn't quite as naive as he may have first thought. She was clearly kind, but that didn't stop her from being quick-witted when she saw the occasion for it.
It had been such a short amount of time, but what he had learned of her had only fueled a desire to learn more.
Perhaps most interesting was that her insecurities seemed to match his own perfectly. He had been feeling rather useless following Anthony's return, and from what she had said she felt quite the same about her own situation. He had never expected to find a kindred spirit in one of the young ladies of the ton.
Not that Benedict thought them all completely incapable of deeper thought, it was only that his situation as a second-son was rather obviously specific only to sons. A woman could not inherit her families title even if she were the first born child, so it was unlikely to find one so worried over her place within the family hierarchy. It was their future husband's title that truly mattered.
He didn't know enough about the young lady's family to know for sure, but he supposed if her family had only daughters it would be up to the eldest to marry well to secure their family's title and estate. A second daughter would inevitably leave once she was wed, leading him to believe his mysterious young lady must also be quite loyal to worry about her family so.
Perhaps that was something to think on.
---
Benedict, so caught up in his own mind, failed to notice when the very woman occupying his thoughts appeared on the street below him.
She pulled the hood closer to her face as she looked up at him, his shadowed profile gazed up at the stars. He was difficult to make out with so little light, but she was still quite certain it was him.
Benedict Bridgerton.
She was thankful to arrive having drawn no unnecessary attention. This time, she wore a less conspicuous dress than she had at the ball. It was made of a pale green fabric, cut in the popular style the other ladies of the ton were wearing. She had worn a silken, violet cloak over top so she was able to hide her face from view. Perhaps walking around covering her face was in itself a suspicious act, but anyone who may look at her strangely for it would have no opportunity to get a good look at her face, which was all that concerned her.
She may have avoided notice so far, but she faced a new problem: How she could she catch Benedict's attention without drawing the eyes of the passersby on the street. She could not simply call out to him, but she would need him to look at the street to alert him quietly. And for the moment he seemed intent to continue looking up at the sky, rather than down to earth.
She had only one other idea.
---
As Benedict sat deep in thought, he was roused by a small clank on the wall near his window. Before he had the chance to turn his head, something small and hard smacked him in the forehead. The surprise caused him to lose his balance, his body rocking back and forth in the open window. When he at last steadied himself, he rubbed his forehead, looking down to find whomever it was that had struck him.
A woman in a hooded cloak looked back up at him, gloved hands raised to her mouth in worried surprise. Once his attention was on her, she pulled back her hood, and Benedict felt his heart jump to his throat.
It was her. She was really here.
This time, the shock did cause him to tumble over, though thankfully landing on his bedroom floor rather than the street below. He scrambled to the window, popping his head out as he gripped the sill. She had one hand to her lips, her shoulders shaking as she tried to stifle a laugh. She beckoned for him to come down, then turned away, pulling her hood back to it's place atop her golden hair.
Benedict fumbled as he stood, grabbing his coat and gloves from their place discarded on his bed as he all but ran out of the room. He nearly barreled straight into Anthony as he flew down the stairs, one arm in his jacket.
Anthony gave Benedict a suspicious look, "And where are you going in such a rush?"
"Out," Benedict replied simply, sliding his free arm through the empty sleeve.
"Out where?" Anthony asked, annoyed.
"Just out," Benedict reiterated, "Honestly brother, do you truly want to know?"
Anthony sighed, "No, I suppose I don't." He gave his brother a stern look, "Just be sure your mother doesn't catch you--I have to hear enough from her about Colin as it is."
Benedict smiled. He grabbed Anthony's face between his hands and gave his cheek a quick kiss, "Thank you brother!" Anthony made a disgusted noise, knocking Benedict's hands away, "This is why you're my most favorite elder brother," he added as he began descending the rest of the staircase.
"I'm your only elder brother!" Anthony shot back, shaking his head as he turned away and continued up to the second floor.
Benedict grinned from ear to ear as he burst through the doors of Bridgerton House. He turned when he reached the street, catching sight of her as she fidgeted with her hands nervously. His smile softened as he watched her, though in truth he was beginning to feel quite nervous himself. Benedict started to move toward her, and soon enough she caught sight of him. He smiled at her, his stomach doing somersaults when she shyly smiled back. They stood there in silence for a long moment, taking each other in.
"You're here," Benedict commented at last.
"Ah, yes...I am," she smiled as she glanced down briefly, "It's good to see you again, Mister Bridgerton--and I am quite sorry, about the rock." He looked at her in confusion, until she quickly pointed to her forehead and he realized her meaning.
"Oh! Was that what that was? It's no bother--after all I can think of far worse things you could have thrown at me." The back of her fingers pressed lightly to her lips as she laughed. He smiled, feeling emboldened by her response to his rather silly joke. "Though, if you truly wanted to make it up to me, you could start by telling me your name?"
She looked surprised, "Oh, right. Of course. I suppose I did fail to give it to you when we spoke before."
"Yes, and I must say I've been taking it quite personally," he said, his lower lip pouting as he looked at her in mock sadness. She smiled.
"Well, I would hate to think I had caused you any grief," she joked, and he grinned back. "You may call me Beatrice."

Some people say that Azriel avoids Elain because of the mating bond's scent??
NO
He'd been so vigilant about keeping away from Elain as much as possible, and had stayed up here to avoid her, and tonight...tonight had proved he 'd been right to do so.
The reason why he's avoiding her has been clearly explained, he knows that they are extremely attracted and desperate for each other that if they spend time together, something like getting aroused and nearly kissing in the family room is bound to happen.
However, the reason why he was precisely avoiding family dinners during the solstice festivities is that Lucien was present, and it's then when he can smell the mating bond:
He left the rest unspoken. Because her mate was here, sleeping a level up. Because her mate had been in the family room and Azriel had needed to stay by the door the whole time because he couldn't stand the sight of it, the scent of their mating bond, and needed to have the option of leaving if it became too much.
Elain's large brown eyes flickered, well aware of all that. Just as he knew she was well aware of why Azriel so rarely came to family dinners these days.
That means he can smell the mating bond only in Lucien's presence. When Elain is alone, he doesn't smell it and isn't bothered by anything. The proof is that he was happily drunk on Elain's sweet arousal scent without any other scent bothering him.
And that actually makes it even weirder because, regardless of the fact that mating bonds normally can't be scented before being accepted, it's only Az who can smell it and he can't stand it. Normally, it should be scented on the female even if her mate isn't present. For example, when Feyre went back to the Spring Court, they could smell her mating bond. That's not the case for Elain, which is weird.
Something is odd with that mating bond

Can you combine 8 & 9 from your off-season prompt list for John? 😂
An Abrupt Wake Up || John Marino
Prompt: 8. “You snore. Loudly.” & 9. “I don’t understand how I slept so good last night.”
WC: 1k+
A/N: I know I’m a slow writer but I had to post something for John’s birthday!
Summary: Making your relationship official during the hockey season was amazing, however, the off-season sheds some light on some things you didn’t know about your boyfriend previously.
Tumblr media
Despite officially dating John for five months, now. You had never actually seen him get a good night's sleep. You spent the night over at his place and he’s slept over at yours so by now you thought that you understood his bedtime routine and weird sleeping idiosyncracies.
You were wrong.
For some reason, it hadn’t occurred to you that John would sleep differently during the off-season than during the regular hockey season. He had always seemed like such a light sleeper. Coming back from a game or a roadie and just passing out and waking up a few hours later still in the same position he fell asleep in. This Summer you had quickly come to realize that he wasn’t getting really sleeping, if he was getting anything it was a power nap.
You had only come to this realization this morning as you watched him sleep and listened to his air horn of a snore. When he invited you to come home with him to Boston this Summer, you thought it would be peaceful and relaxing. There wouldn’t be any nerves because you had already met his family during the season. You couldn’t have predicted that your eyes would be bloodshot and that you’d have bags under your eyes after the first night. It wasn’t your preferred method of staying awake all night because of John, in fact, you’d rather stay awake with John, but that wasn’t the case.
Your eyes shifted over to the clock on the bedside table and you realize that now would usually be the time that you would wake up and get ready for the day. Instead, you wanted to grab earplugs and hide under the thick comforter and sleep until the sun went down but because that wasn’t an option at the moment you decided that John would just have to be awake with you.
There wasn’t much thought put into it before you leaned over the side of the bed and grabbed one of the decorative pillows and came back up and hit him in the face with it. Had you not been so grumpy from your lack of sleep you probably would have felt bad or at the very least chucked the pillow across the room to get rid of the evidence.
With one final deep and guttural snore, John sat upright in a panic, blinking his eyes several times before they finally adjusted and landed on you.
“Did something happen? What’s wrong?” You almost felt bad.
You shrugged your shoulders and adjusted your pillow before you snuggled into it. “It’s time to wake up. You said you wanted to hit the gym early.”
John rubbed his eyes and looked at the clock, similar to the way that you did you few moments ago. As he stretched you used it as an opportunity to steal some of the comforter that he was using.
“I actually feel well-rested,” his voice was deep and heavy and you usually would have pulled him back into bed for some morning fun before he went off to the gym but now you just wanted him to go lift weights or run on a treadmill for a little while while you slept the day away. “I don’t understand how I slept so good last night.“
John’s last few words made you peek your head out from under the blankets and finally take in your boyfriend. His curly hair which you loved so much was a mess and he was rubbing at his eyes. Despite your previous frustration and your current exhaustion, your heartbeat sped up as you looked at him. For the first time in months, he did, honestly, look well-rested and although it was at the cost of your own sleep you still smiled knowing that this Summer you were probably going to see a new side to John. A side that the hockey season had no room for.
No more words were said between the two of you as you fell lightly in and out of sleep and John got ready to go to the gym. It was only after he laced up his shoes and grabbed his gym bag that he came over to give you a kiss goodbye. You smiled softly at the touch but immediately frowned as you remembered something.
“You snore. Loudly.“ It’s quiet and had John not been inches away from your face he probably wouldn’t have heard it but he needed to know. You weren’t about to let him leave and have him be clueless.
“What?” Confusion was written all over his face as he stood up. It wasn’t hurt or anger but you wondered if the confusion was because of your timing or if he really didn’t know he snored. Surely he had to know, an atomic bomb would be quieter than him.
You pulled the covers up to your chin and closed your eyes as you said, “You have got to give a person a warning when you snore that loud. It’s common courtesy. It’s like if you offered me orange juice and I said ‘yes’ but you gave me a glass of orange juice but with pulp.”
When he remained silent you cracked an eye open to look at him. He found it humorous and even while you were close to falling asleep, you were also itching to hit him with a pillow again. “Warning is all I’m asking for because last night I learned that when you aren’t playing hockey you moonlight as Thomas the Train.”
John’s laughter filled the bedroom. It wasn’t just the sleeping that felt different. It was his entire being, he slept harder, laughed louder, and in general seemed lighter. You loved this man but you bit your tongue. It wasn’t the right time for you to confess your feelings. Not right now.
“While I’m out I’ll pick up some noise-canceling headphones or earbuds for you,” he finally says as he leans down again to kiss you softly on the lips.
You give him one last peck before pulling back and smiling up at him with what probably seems like a dreamy expression but you couldn’t care less.
“Okay, I’ll see you later, Johnny.”
“I’ll see you later, baby”

Another continuation of my poll fic; the previous part is here.
.
“Hello?” called Danny.  “Is anyone there?  Hello?”
There was no answer except a further flicker of light, more distant.
Danny touched his tongue to his lips briefly, then marked his place in the intake book using one of the blank cards.  He slid out of the chair and off his stack of books to stand.  The cold wood and iron of the floor made him rethink that and he floated up.  It was better that way, anyway, in terms of vantage point.
He approached the gap between shelves.  “Hello?”
Looking out into the passageway beyond, the light seemed to wrap around and layer over itself with different levels of brightness.  Danny looked back at his own trail of brilliance, saw where it faded, saw where it was fresh and new.  This other trail, it looked like someone had walked this way multiple times.  Going in circles, maybe?
He floated upward, trying for a better vantage point and jostled a set of what looked like windchimes, long triangular metal rods covered in tiny symbols gathered together under domes.  They jingled and jangled musically in the muffling silence of the library.  He stilled them with one hand.
There was movement out of the corner of his eye and turned.  There, just before the passageway bent around a particularly precarious collection of papers, floated a ghost.
It was a very strange ghost.  It glowed like a small sun, and if Danny’s eyes hadn’t been changed by his own alteration, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to look at it.  It had long, long ears, shaped mostly like a bat’s but furred like a cat’s.  Their eyes, too, were catlike, slitted.  It had wings, and at their ends they were thin and flat, like a moth’s or butterfly’s, but they were fluffy with fur and feathers near their bases, and there was something birdlike about their structure there as well.  Its body was relatively small, and looked soft, although it wasn’t nearly as small as Danny currently was.  Danny couldn’t tell if the ghost was male or female or something else entirely.
But perhaps the strangest thing of all was the pervasive sense of silence it carried with it.
In any case, Danny saw no golden thread, and some of the other features - like the light - seemed to match with the aids offered to guests.  Only, like.  A lot of them.  All at once.  Meaning they must’ve gotten lost a whole bunch of times, even if Danny couldn’t see any visitor badges on them.
“Um, hi,” said Danny.  “I noticed, um.  Are you lost?  The attendant should be coming before too long.”
The faintest of breezes tickled the back of his neck and he looked behind him, to the other end of the passage.  There was another almost identical ghost hovering there.
“Um.”  Danny was, perhaps, getting just a little nervous about the silent staring.
More light.  Yet another similar ghost floated at the opposite entry to the card catalog space.  And–
Danny moved backwards, into more open space as the area brightened further and more luminous, winged ghosts floated into view or poked heads up over shelves and other barriers.
“Danny,” said Mom.
“Not now,” said Danny.  He blinked.
Next thing he knew, fingers were brushing his throat.  He flinched backwards and away.  Fast.  Either naturally so, or via alteration.  Or, if they weren’t visitors, maybe because of a home-field advantage or disadvantage on Danny’s part.  Some places did that, and he hadn’t been here long enough to determine if this was one of them.
“I don’t want to fight,” he said.  Or tried to say.  He went through the motions, but his voice made no sound.  He made no sound, period, not even the sound of his tongue tapping against the roof of his mouth.
He’d been silenced.  Not good.  That meant that not only could he not negotiate, he couldn’t call for help.
He was left with limited options, and limited time to choose between them.  Luckily, those same battle-born reflexes and reactions that were inconvenient elsewhere served him well now and gave him the chance to choose.
He could fight.  The librarians would be unhappy.  It was against the rules that the receptionist had given to him, and likely to damage the books and card catalog, so he’d probably be kicked out.  But, if he fought, he was sure he’d win, even with these numbers, and that would be safer than his other options.  He couldn’t imagine that this many people ganging up on someone who looked like they were five meant well.
He could flee.  He would almost certainly get lost, but that was a lesser crime than damaging the card catalog.  Whether or not he’d get caught… well, he had about the same amount of experience running as fighting, but he usually wasn’t running from a group this large in unfamiliar territory and facing unfamiliar powers.  These silent ghosts could have further unpleasant abilities.
He could freeze.  Literally.  He could build a shell of ice and ghost shields up around himself and hunker down until he either thought of a better plan or the attendant came back.  That might put the attendant in danger, but Danny didn’t know if it would be more danger than if he just ran away.  Anything other than fighting and winning decisively meant that these people would still be around.  But if they were meant to be here… if the attendant could negotiate with them or authorize a fight…
Too much speculation.  He had the space of a breath in which to act.  Less.

I think one of Ever After High's biggest problems is the lack of characters and/or the lack of commitment to the rebel and royals tension. (Also this is coming from someone who has only really watched what's on Netflix. I have seen everything but I have just watched the Netflix specials wayyyyy more)
But what I mean by that is there will be moments when our main characters will be really hostile towards each other. Like during Legacy Day when all the royals were booing at Raven for not signing the book. Or the cafeteria fight after Legacy Day. Which makes a ton of sense for the plot of EAH. However, there are also a lot of moments when the rebels and royals are friendly with each other. That doesn't make a ton of sense when compared with the two instances I mentioned earlier. An example of this would be in Briar's Study Party, where they are all studying and dancing together. I just think it's strange. Also I'm not really thinking about Apple in all of this. She feels like a special case. I'm more so thinking about Briar, Ashlynn, Dexter, Blondie, Daring.
So I think in order to remedy this there are two options. Maybe even three. I'm also going to be focus on the royals more in this because I think my problems really lie with them.
Option 1: add more side characters that are the hostile ones during scenes like Legacy Day and the cafeteria fight. (Specifically royals) That way, our main characters like Brair and Ashlynn don't seem fake when interacting with characters like Raven, Maddie or Cedar outside of the scenes.
Option 2: make the royal characters specifically be mean/rude/hostile whatever to the rebels all the time. Some ways I would incorporate it into scenes already present in the show would be: when Apple and Raven are going to find a new mirror (which they go to all royals) have the royals they go to be curt with Raven. Or the look on their faces turns into a frown whenever they see her. So we can keep up the rebel vs royal and make it seem more believable.
Option 3: make the royal vs rebel tension a complete facade. A facade they only keep up around teachers or their parents. I guess one could potentially make an argument that this is kinda what the show is doing already, but not really. Because you have characters like Blondie who does everything to be consider a royal or Apple's whole thing she's got going on. It's obvious that the tension is truly there, especially with scenes like the cafeteria fight who would they have been pretending for? There were no teachers or parents there. They genuinely were fighting. So in order to make if feel like a facade I would have a scene where characters admit that they don't feel any hostility towards the other side but feel as though they need to act like they do. That would explain scenes like the booing at Legacy Day. And if you put some teachers in the cafeteria when the fight happened, it would also make more sense. But just to make it a little more interesting I would have scenes with the rebels feelings being hurt. Like Raven feeling absolutely awful after Legacy Day and refusing to talk to Dexter afterward because he was booing too. Also this pretending would primarily fall with the royals because I feel like it benefits them the most but we can have some scenes were the rebels do it too.
But those are my thoughts on that. I've always thought the characters' relationship was weird. Ever since I was a little kid. Also this is not a complaint about the show. I love this show so so so so much. It's one of my favorites ever.

This is not at all coherent, I don't think. I have a cold and woke up from a nap with a weird idea so I'm putting it out into the world in case anyone else finds it as entertaining as I did.
Do you know what I think would be a hilarious Dead Boy Detectives ship? Jenny/The Night Nurse. Now hear me out.
Imagine Jenny who goes to England with the ghosts and Crystal because her whole life has been turned upside down and she needs a new start. Imagine her trying to adapt to a new, completely different place, after spending her whole life in Port Townsend. Imagine her trying to cope with the fact that the supernatural exists and things are not how she believed for all of her life.
Imagine also the Night Nurse who has just been basically relocated from her job and forced to oversee these kids that have made her existence so incredibly hard lately. Imagine her having to live on Earth full-time for an indefinite period of time just because those pesky kids managed to charm her superior. Imagine her being incredibly frustrated about all of this, and not really having a way of venting about it because all of her power is meaningless in the face of her superiors.
Now imagine them meeting at the Agency office. Just a casual meeting once, when Jenny comes over to pick something up while Crystal and the boys are off on some case. Jenny remembers some of her first meeting with the Night Nurse. Not the specifics, of course, because the Night Nurse took that, but she does remember the fear and the weirdness afterwards. And to the Night Nurse Jenny is just some random human of no interest. So that first meeting again is kind of awkward.
But then, they keep crossing paths. They've both become this sort of reluctant parental figures to the Agency kids. Like the Night Nurse is obviously ordered to be Charles and Edwin's keeper, and Jenny has sort of taken it upon herself to look after Crystal (whose parents suck) and Niko (once she gets back to them, because I don't believe in a world where she doesn't make it back to her friends from whatever weird limbo state she is in.) And then because the four teens are now a package deal, Jenny and the Night Nurse start spending more and more time together.
Eventually, they get to talking. Still a little awkwardly at first, but they start finding common ground (complaining about the teens) and spending more time together with the only other adult figure in the group. Yes, Charles and Edwin have both been around for longer than Jenny has been alive, but they still at like teens most of the time. And yes, since Jenny's human the Night Nurse doubts their experiences can truly relate and they're not actually anywhere close in age, but it's not like she has many other options. So they talk sometimes. And slowly those talks become more and more frequent.
They start meeting like once a week. Jenny has opened a new shop down the street from the Agency and they meet there when the kids are off on a case. Maybe they share a bottle of wine or something and trade stories. Mostly complains about the teens, of course, but then also more personal things. Jenny's brain isn't quite able to grasp everything about the Night Nurse's lore, so she just drinks and listens.
The Night Nurse wouldn't admit it to anyone, but she enjoys having someone who will listen to her complains and not act like she's being unreasonable. Why wouldn't she be annoyed that this kids keep making messes for her to clean up and leaving her with mountains of paperwork to fill? (Some things never change, huh.) Jenny understands. She also finds the paperwork tedious. She also thinks the kids have an otherworldly ability to make stupid decisions and get on their nerves.
I think Jenny would be the first to catch feelings. Or at least she'd be the first to realize.
Once their meetings stop being a weekly thing and become almost daily, she starts noticing all these little things. Like how the Night Nurse is actually really soft for the kids, even if they annoy her. How she genuinely cares for her job in a way that goes beyond just being made for a job and preforming it for eternity. How she always does her best to keep the teens safe even when she knows they will try their best to get into as much trouble as possible. How she can be all dry humor and unexpected kindness underneath her business attitude. Eventually, she realizes that there's something about the Night Nurse that really calls to her, that draws her in despite her better judgement.
Jenny wouldn't do anything about those feelings, though. How do you go about romancing an eternal, trans-dymensional being? You don't. You sip your wine and listen to her as attentively as you can manage and you don't say anything.
The Night Nurse would take longer to realize she's falling for Jenny. It's not that she doesn't know how human relationships work or that she doesn't understand that she and Jenny are getting closer. It's just that she has many other, bigger, concerns.
It's not until much later, after a bad case, that she realizes. It's the kind of case that gets them all banged up and somehow, Jenny ends up involved in it too despite her insistence that she wants nothing to do with Agency business. I'm going cliche here, but I think her somehow getting cursed to be trapped inside her mind or something could work well. Because then the Night Nurse would have to go through her memories to get her back or something like that. And along the way, she would realize Jenny has a crush on her, of course, but also she'd realize she has a crush on Jenny too?
These past few months or however long it's been have been so much better knowing that Jenny understands at least some of her troubles. She can't begin to explain how much it means to her, knowing there's someone who will listen and commiserate and give the most human advice imaginable. It's a lot and she cannot ignore it now that she's realized it.
So, once things are back to normal and the kids have gone out to celebrate another case closed, the Night Nurse slips into Jenny's shop with a bottle of her favorite wine. Jenny still looks a little shaken, but she smiles and brings a couple of glasses to their usual corner and blushes prettily when their gazes meet for a second too long. Neither mentions it, but they're both aware of what has changed between them. And as the Night Nurse settles her hand on Jenny's she thinks of a man living inside of a sea monster and wonders if this is also an adventure worth talking about.

I love Dimension 20 and all the people that work on it, but there’s something they’ve done this season (FHJY) that’s really bothered me.
When Cassandra was first introduced at the end of Sophomore Year, Brennan set the precedent of using they/them pronouns for them, and the rest of the cast followed suit (SY didn’t have the handy-dandy graphics with pronouns). However, when Cassandra was first introduced this year, their graphic only had she/her pronouns. This is despite Brennan and Ally confirming in 2020 that Cassandra is non-binary and uses she/they pronouns.
Tumblr media
This was amended a few episodes later, the next time Cassandra’s card popped up.
Tumblr media
However, I don’t think Brennan or any of the cast members ever used they/them pronouns when referring Cassandra this season, despite doing so in the previous season. And while using she/her pronouns for Cassandra is totally fine, ignoring their other set of pronouns feels weird. I’ve seen this happen with multi-pronoun folks in my life before where others around them default to the binary pronouns (she/her or he/him) rather than neutral pronouns (they/them or neopronouns). It feels as though they are ignoring that person’s genderqueerness and simply doing whatever comes naturally to them. In this case, Cassandra is presented as a feminine person, so since the option to use she/her pronouns is there, that’s what the cast does. (A similar thing happened to Baron in Baron’s Game and also in general. I could go on about the weird aphobia vibes in that episode…)
It’s a little strange to me since the cast is so good with pronouns for IRL folks like Ally; I would have thought that mindset extended to everyone else, but it seems not to have. Which is disappointing.
In a way, it’s funny because they’re doing what the villains are doing to Ankarna in this season: projecting human priorities such as the gender binary onto divine beings.
To clarify: I’m not saying that you can’t use binary pronouns for multi-pronoun folks as long as it’s fine with them. But only using binary pronouns when there are other options feels so limiting.

PICK A CARD: what's your genshin impact life like, and what vision would you have based on it?
DISCLAIMERS & CONTEXT: this is important so don't skip it.
Since genshin has 7 types of visions, it felt unfair to me to just do three options to choose from like I normally do, that being said, I'm doing 9 options, with (hopefully) a short backstory, and then based on that, choose a vision. That means probably some visions would be left out of the post, and/or one or two elements could appear a lot. I could try and control that all the 7 elements appear but it wouldn't be a genuine reading since it'll be some manipulation, and that'll be dishonest and I'm not about that. Also in case anyone want to know what I took into account for selecting the visions, unless stated otherwise, I used this as a guide.
Anything said here about your life/ideals/past events is ONLY related to the hypothetical scenario of you living in genshin, DON'T take the reading as guidance, and DON'T feel that you HAD to experience the things said in real life to be able to relate and have that vision. This is just a fun what if based on your energy right now.
With the explanation and disclaimer out of the way, pick whichever picture you feel more attracted to and skip to that pile.

Pile 1
the moon, ten of pentacles, ace of pentacles.
So, right of the start, without the interpretation of the meaning of the cards, the moon is in 2/3 of them, and what is the moon associated with? exactly, water. So right when I pulled the second card I knew y'all vision was hydro. I have this feeling that in genshin you would be from a kinda rich family, of course you're not feiyun commerce guild rich, but your family is well off and you don't need to worry about money. Talking about family, it seems that you have a good relationship with them, and they just support you and want you to live a fulfilling life.
So, for how you got your vision. It was at night, you were in your room, laying in bed or looking out the window, and you were thinking about your future. You wanted to continue the family business, how could you not?, your family has always done so much for you, and asked so little in return, this had to be right the way to repay them. At this point someone from your family close to you entered your room, I'm getting father figure vibes, definitely a masculine energy. One thing leads to another and you confide that you want to continue inherit the family business, but something deep within you is toughing at your heart strings, as if to trying to tell you something. This father figure tells you to really think this through and that the feeling you have might be because you are not fully convinced in what you want. Before leaving he reassures you that the family business is not that important, that you don't owe them anything, and that all they've done for you has been out of love. Then when you are all alone again and finally realize that you don't want to stay in the family business, but to do your own thing; a hydro vision appears next to you, and you know you've made the right choice, in wanting to pursue what you are passionate about.

Pile 2
three of swords, king of cups, the empress.
This pile is giving me a lot of mixed messages, like in your genshin life y'all are a kind, compassionate person, and also a very wise, but something tells me that is not dendro wisdom, but more like leader wisdom, if that makes sense. With the empress I see that you have children at you care, could be your actual children, but I'm getting more of a head of an orphanage type of vibe.
For how you got your vision, I'm picturing that you are in some kind of meeting with important people, and they are pressuring you sell the orphanage, so they can close it and make something else where it's located. This is a negotiation they've been trying to make for quite some time now, and are trying to convince you with any way possible to sell it, and at this point you were tired of them showing up to the orphanage trying to convince you; probably some of the older kids starting to piece things together and are worried you might abandon them. So you agreed to go to their company headquarters to negotiate, away form the kids so they can't listen. So once you're there they start to bring up the fact that you're the only staff in the orphanage, and don't have anyone to help you finance and care for the children, and after some other valid arguments you start to doubt if you should just sell it and use the money to open a new one some other place. But something doesn't feel right and you stand your ground, telling them that the property is not for sell, that is your home and the home of all the children, you just can give that away like nothing. When you go back to the orphanage the first thing you see is the kids waiting for you, and you figured that everyone was aware of the rumors of you abandoning them, since you could see some of them had been crying. When you tell them the good news, they run to hug you, and only when one kind complains that they hit their head with something that was hanging from your waist, you realize that the gods had looked at you, and granted you a geo vision.

Pile 3
wheel of fortune, the high priestess, queen of swords.
Something about this pile gives me anemo, but at the same time it feel too different from it. In your genshin life, you went through many hardships, and there was a point were you ended up in a situation where you couldn't defend yourself, and needed help to overcome it. This brought a big change into your life, an that's how you were able to obtain a vision.
Now, the story of how all that happened, actually started long before you got your vision. When you were on your lowest, a feminine energy help you, someone intelligent, witty, honest, and strong. She saved you from some monsters that were attacking you, and even tho you tried to fight back, they were way more stronger than you, so when she came to your rescue you felt ashamed for relaying on another person that happened to pass by and were kind enough to help you. You ended up asking them to teach you how to fight, so you could become stronger and better defend yourself. At first she refused and point out that your intentions weren't pure and that you just wanted to become stronger for selfish reasons. After some meditation on why you wanted to become stronger, you reached the conclusion that you actually wanted to be someone reliable, that everyone could depend on if they ever needed your help. After you told her that, she agreed to train you. You spend day and night learning from her, not only things combat related, but also how to be a better and more kind person. By the ending of your training, you viewed her as a mother figure, even to she wasn't exactly caring and gentle, despised her cold and serious face, you knew she cared for you. When you finally finished training and she said you were ready for anything you wanted to do, she gave you your first weapon as a gift, along with a box that contained a another gift she prepared. When you opened the box, next to the bracelet she bought for you, there was a pyro vision placed next to it, although no one knew how it got there.

Pile 4
ace of pentacles, the emperor, queen of swords (reversed).
I'm getting this strong feeling that you would be some business owner, although I don't get a feeling for anything specific. You also probably come across to others as someone really intelligent on the art of business even if you follow these unorthodox methods that look like they are meant to fail, but for some reason for you it always work out. I feel that some might see you as a stubborn, maybe even ruthless person, like you are definitely a serious type.
For how you got your vision, you were probably in your office, just when you started to see profit from your new business. You went through a lot of challenges to get where you were, but you still weren't satisfied and had a lot of goals in mind, so you never let yourself take a break and were always working. You were drowning in paperwork, quiet literally, you couldn't even see the surface of your desk because of all the papers scattered. At this point you had too much in your mind and were starting to get a headache, so you decided to take a short break to eat something. Before leaving you decided to clean your desk and organize all the papers on it, and while moving them, that's when you realized that there was a dendro vision on your desk.

Pile 5
the sun, page of swords (reversed), queen of wands (reversed).
I'm getting really positive and playful vibes, almost childlike, so my guess is that y'all are really young, or that are in touch with your inner child so much that even in a hypothetical scenario about a video game, you still are coming across as someone curious, with and adventurous spirit, and overall really happy and someone comforting to be around, definitely someone who is always playing with kids and helping those in need. With that being said, it may come as a surprise that y'all are involved in a bad organization, and not bad as in "they don't pay extra hours" bad, but more like "we control all the city and we decide what are the rules and the only valid law is ours" bad. The thing is, I don't really have any information about what the organization does, or what is the thing that you're supposed to do in it, so I think you actually don't really know either, and that's why I can't see it, OR there's too much hidden things around you that you want to keep a secret. Like I feel that you want to bring justice to bad people, and that you joined the organization because they basically lied to you and made you believe that they were good guys. I really have a feeling that you found out about what the organization really does but you're unable to leave so you are ashamed of being part of it or are ashamed of what the organization asked you to do, so you don't want anyone to know. Anyway, this is funny because I can't see how you got your pyro vision either, just that it happened near the time you joined the organization.
**As in all the PACs, just take what resonates and leave what doesn't, this is for entertainment only, so have fun with it!
Tumblr media
Pile 6
ace of wands, four of swords (reversed), ace of cups.
Something happened to you that made you isolate yourself from the word, in the literal sense. I feel that the was a heartbreak, not necessarily romantic, that made you so sad that you decided you needed to go get yourself lost in nature, to meditate and work on yourself. I don't have a clear answer on who that person was, but I'm getting the mixed signal that was a lover or a really close friend that betray you, and your trust, and then not long after they got out of your life, either by death or by moving really far away.
So, how you got you vision is a little interesting. Remember I said you went out and got lost in nature? Well I'm not sure if it was 100% true, I can feel that for quite some time you actually were living in this sort of cave, with a river nearby and some sources of food, but also I can see that some weeks before getting your vision you were living in a really really really dark cave and I believe is some kind of metaphor on were you where mentally at the time. But then this beautiful moment happens where you decide you've been lamenting and torturing yourself emotionally for a long time now, so you gather courage and decide to go out of the cave. and of course at first the sun is too blinding, and you have to close your eyes and cover them with your hand at the same time. Then you start to thinking about going back to the comfort of the darkness, but really want to feel the warmth of the sun in your skin again so you continue forward even with your eyes closed. After some steps you can feel that you are outside but are too afraid to open your eyes so you just keep walking until to feel your feet touch something metallic, you look down and open your eyes to see what it is. And the first thing you are able to see is an anemo vision, and at that moment you know is yours, and it feels as if you've been born again.

the magician (reversed), wheel of fortune, king of swords (reversed).
I don't know how much y'all are gonna like this but listen, someone from this PAC had to be the bad guy, surely from 9 piles not everyone was going to be good people... it's you guys, y'all are the bad ones, and you know it and you aren't ashamed of it (remember this is about your genshin life and that I'm not actually saying that in real life y'all are bad people). So, how do I put this. Y'all actually don't have a vision right now, you will, you will soon, I promise, just not right now.
Okay so, give a chance to explain. Y'all are power hungry, ruthless, tyrant, or at least that's how the others perceive you. They see you like an authority regardless of your ethics and morals not aligning with what everyone considers as "good", and they trust your judgment in a way, since you seem so disciplined and don't allow yourself to doubt on what you believe. That being said, I so feel that there's some major event that is going to shake your foundations, and send you on a spiral of some kind of identity crisis, and realizing that the things you believed in were wrong, or weren't even true at all. When that happens and you try to seek support on someone you trust, they're gonna deceive you again and betray you, which in return will amplify all the negative and complicated emotions you are feeling, and somewhere along your journey of change and acceptance is when you're going to get a cryo vision that's going to make you company for the rest of your life.

Pile 8
ace of cups (reversed), four of swords, ace of wands.
So, you guys had a lot going on, that left you in a really bad mental space. With the ace of cups we can assume it was something like a wedding or engagement getting cancelled, but that doesn't have to be necessary it, since I'm also seeing that there was some type of social event where there was something you did and people didn't approve that left you so anxious and/or embarrassed that you had to leave early, so if you're not vibing with the wedding/engagement thing, it could be that. The point is that that event made people single you out and start to be more wary of you and more hostile. This left you feeling overwhelmed since you always thought that you were well liked in the community, like at the end of the day it wasn't that serious to them, but for you it hit really hard and made you see that maybe the world wasn't really like you believed.
At the end you allowed negativity to really set in your life, until at some point you decided that you needed some peace and quiet, make some introspection, relax and really think about how you are going to life your life from now on. Thankfully you found a solution once put your mind into it, and made a plan of moving somewhere else, to start again, so actually in that same day you started looking into it and by the end of the day of the day you had almost everything sorted out. You went to sleep really excited to the though of finally having your life back in control again, and there was definitely this new spark in your eyes and this feeling that almost didn't let you sleep, thankfully you did, and when you wake up you'll start this new life and the first thing you'll see will be this electro vision that accompanied you on your sleep.
**As in all the PACs, just take what resonates and leave what doesn't, this is for entertainment only, so have fun with it!

Pile 9
two of swords, the high priestess, the devil.
So uh, a lot to unpack here. First things first, like pile 7 based on the story that the cards are telling me, I don't see you having a vision right now, but you will have one in the near future. Funnily enough, you guys also share with pile 7 that you will have a cryo vision. So yeah, I just wanted to be straight forward with it in case you don't care about your backstory that much because it doesn't really mention how you got the vision, I just a very general idea of how it happened.
So your story is that you're feeling trapped, and like if things are out of your control, and that you have to make this big decision between two friends. I feel that one of them is trying yo leave, it could be from town, or organization/institution, or isn't happy with the friend group anymore and how it has changed. And they're your best friend so of course you want to support their decision, but you have another really close friend that isn't happy with they wanting to leave, and this ideals they have, so both of them start fighting with each other. And you are such a loving and caring friend, you don't want to see them fight, so you're trying to mediate the constant argument, and trying for them to reconcile, and it's very stressful because none of them wants to give in and compromise. And this is pretty much what the cards say, except for the high priestess, that is encouraging you to trust what you believe, and take action, follow your intuition, etc. So my guess is, you guys realize that the argument is pointless, and let your friends know, and kinda distance from them yourself from them because you realize they're not the friends you've always loved anymore, and that their change is not really the best thing for you right now, and then when you do that and you accept it and really embrace and believe in your decision, you'll be granted your vision.

Thanks for reading!
I usually write this notes before doing the readings, so I don't really know how it went, BUT I can already tell this is gonna let me feeling really tired.
So yeah, I'm drained, it's been two days and a lot of hours spend on this so future me can worry about spelling mistakes to fix. If I ever do a PAC this long again, I better get paid or something this felt like working 12 hours straight, I had so many issues with the formatting it's not even funny, and don't get me started with pile 5, or that error I had with the poll, or the fact that the cryo users didn't have a vision yet. Anyway, this will be my only 9 option one in a while, the next ones will be back at 3 options, 4 if I'm feeling generous.
All jokes aside, it was really fun and I really wanted to do this PAC, so it's still worth it. Can't wait to read what you guys think, lot's of love! 💕
You can find more of my PACs on my master list, and if you have any suggestions on future PACs you want to see me do, you can send me and ask.
Bye byee ✨

I'm planning to write a fic about a media that includes a canonical wheelchair user who's paralyzed from the shoulders or neck down except for one arm. Canon never says what caused her condition and there isn't anything to indicate other issues. What things could cause this kind of paralysis?
Hi!
That's certainly an uncommon set of symptoms, but not impossible.
What you're describing is called triplegia, and it's very rare (I have personally never met a person with it). It's probably most common in cerebral palsy, but CP doesn't cause actual paralysis, so it might not work for you. Another option could be incomplete quadriplegia. It would be very unlikely that she would have 100% paralysis in the three limbs and ~0% in the fourth one, but something like "paralysis of both legs, trunk, the majority of one arm, and the finger function of the other arm" would be more probable, I think.
Triplegia could also be caused by a stroke, or other kind of severe brain injury, as those are very unpredictable and can have a very wide range of symptoms. It could even technically be a side effect of a surgery (though I was only able to found this, which describes one person - but then your character is one person too, so).
I also believe that multiple sclerosis could theoretically result in triplegia, but my source is "trust me bro", so take it with an extremely big grain of salt.
It's important to remember that none of the above would have triplegia as their only symptom. I'm assuming that it's not the case in the original work where she's from, but for a more accurate representation you will need to make some changes.
I hope this helps - sorry for the late answer!

I don't really think Wyll qualifies as a member of the nobility.
(For clarity, I will be using nobles/nobility, gentry, and patriars interchangeably. The term patriar is Baldur's Gate specific.)
Wyll isn't a patriar. His father is the son of a blacksmith. We don't really get a clear explanation of what it takes to be considered nobility in Baldur's Gate (if you have a source that details this please please share) but we do know what it takes to be considered nobility historically.
First, what is required for one to be considered a noble? Generally speaking nobles are usually landed or titled or both. These are pretty straightforward terms. Landed means that a person owns land. Historically, owning land was not as easy as it is today. It also wasn't very clear cut. Depending on the location owning land could be a super huge deal. Not only did it require lots of money, but it also often required extensive connections. In some places if you weren't the reigning Monarch it was illegal to make any kind claim to land. (chop your head off kinds of illegal).
Is it possible Wyll's father owned land even while Wyll was growing up? I think it's extremely unlikely. While Ulder Ravengard did rise through the ranks of the Fist quickly and was therefore a respected member of the upper brass, he probably wasn't rich enough to buy land within Baldur's Gate and he is described as “lacking sophistication and tact” when it comes to matters of politics. Would he have managed to create the connections necessary to even be allowed to buy land? Doubtful.
The other option is being titled. Simple enough, it means someone possesses a noble title. Most titles are inheritable, but 'Duke' is not an inheritable title in Baldur's Gate. Dukes are elected by the Parliament of Peers.
A quick aside to explain how the government works in Baldur's Gate. Baldur's Gate is controlled by the Council of Four: four elected Dukes whose votes are what allow policy to pass into law. The Grand Duke is able to decide in the case of a tie-breaker being necessary. The Dukes are elected by the Parliament of Peers, those seats are held by patriars. There is one sort of exception. One of the positions of Duke is traditionally held by the head of the Flaming Fist, i.e. the Marshall. The Marshall of the Flaming Fist still has to be elected to Duke, they don't just get that position automatically, but most people don't like to go against tradition. (Though I've seen some sources point at Ulder Ravengard's not being immediately elected Duke? And it was tied to him not being a patriar/well liked? I haven't been able to find which DnD source book this comes from yet grrrr so I can't confirm)
So Wyll's father is likely elected Duke after Abdel Adrian's assassination (see previous post) on Returning Day in 1482 DR. Baldur's Gate takes place in 1492 DR, when Wyll is 24. So yeah, some quick math and Wyll wasn't the son of a Duke until he was around 14. He's banished at the age of 17. A grand total of three years where he has some political standing.
But Wyll was the son of a military man his entire life. A man who was known for being extremely strict. A man who often had to travel for his work. A man who, in spite of his best efforts, was distant from his son. Yeah.
Wyll's not a noble. Wyll is a military brat.

Bad Polls and the Art of Engagement Bait
So as anyone who follows this blog probably noticed, I posted a poll yesterday. Sorry ace attorney tumblr, it was bait. That was part of a little social experiment to test some theories I had about engagement bait and the tumblr "algorithm"-- and it was a resounding success!! I even made a replicate, that being a similar poll only hours later, which had basically the same result. Somehow. Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, I thought it would be fun to talk about it!
The entire point of this little social experiment was to combine some observations I had about what posts do well, the general attitude of tumblr users, and how to maximize engagement with minimal effort within fandom spaces. Thus, I'm combining all my thoughts into a little guide: how to make the lowest effort, highest engagement post possible:
Recognize that negative engagement on tumblr travels father than positive engagement Tumblr may not have an algorithm, but the system is still set up in a way where negative engagement rewards the poster more than positive engagement. A simple "like" is enough to show agreement or approval, but dissent or shock requires replies or reblogs (the latter of which are significantly more common). More reblogs = more people seeing the post, and thus posts that elicit a negative reaction tend to travel further than positive ones
Capitalize on the fact that people love to bitch about things when given the opportunity Generally speaking, going onto a random post you hate and exclaiming how much you hate it is a bit of a tumblr faux pas. Same thing with venting about how much you dislike something. While bringing up the topic yourself and being snippy to specific people are frowned upon, however, places like polls that provide an opportunity to bitch about things are a great outlet, and a LOT of people will take it
Take advantage of the poll's inherent anonymity This may seem counterintuitive-- the person posting the poll and everyone reblogging it aren't anonymous at all! This doesn't matter though, only the votes do. The anonymity of the votes on a tumblr poll turn the opinions of others, no matter their relative size, into a nebulous opinion of the indeterminate masses. THIS is the most important part of the engagement bait, because tumblr users love to complain but aren't likely to do so to someone directly for fear of hurting their feelings or getting called out for being rude. If you can take a dissenting opinion and remove the actual user from the equation, people are far more likely to share exactly what they think about it-- this is when the "no reading comprehension" and "you people seriously think (X)" and "ugh I hate fandom" takes come out en masse. Tumblr users may be mean, but more importantly we are also cowards. In the case of the poll I posted above, even extremely small minority opinions were being commented on in almost every single reblog, despite the fact that these opinions made up less than 10% of the votes for a majority of the poll's run.
More buzzwords, less nuance Buzzwords and a lack of nuance work together to make engagement more likely-- buzzwords are often both overused and misused, while a lack of nuance (typically in the form of a yes or no question) eggs people into explaining themselves. Combine these two and you add people justifying themselves, arguing with others, and complaining about the buzzword in general into your reblogs, boosting your numbers even more. In my case, I chose the lowest of the low when it comes to poll topics: "Is (recognizable character) (buzzword)?". How people fell for this twice I'm not sure, but it works!
If things are getting boring, stir the pot yourself You can use alt accounts or just make up tags yourself, but I was too lazy to do this. However, there's always the option of cherrypicking-- screenshot outlandish or dissenting tags, even if it's just one in a sea of hundreds, and post that in a reblog with an incredulous caption. Bringing tags to the attention of the majority invites new focus on those tags AND your poll, giving people another outlet to add their takes. Some people will likely even reblog it Again.
Now that the bait is set, watch people in your notes talk over themselves like a flock of seagulls
Congrats! You've now made a successful bait poll. Fortunately or unfortunately, mine worked so well that people fell for it twice, both of them got thousands of votes each within the day, my notifications are overflowing, and popular blogs have made posts referencing it. Point proven, hypothesis verified. As they say: easy website.
