You could have been no more than eight summers' old, clutching your mother's apron, eyebrows singed off by the fireball you'd unleashed into your neighbour's rose bush. You were crying because the flowers were so beautiful, and you did mean to destroy them.

How kind, how eager, how brilliant you were. And yet so naive. You could not yet see that power so careless begets destruction, but so too might your good nature be the guiding light by which your bailities might shape our world for the better.

Where is that child now, I wonder? Did he remain at Blackstaff, nose buried in his books? Does he live within his mother's ageing heart, weeping for those roses? Or is he within you still, lost amongst the trappings of godhood you so casually adorn yourself with?

Whereever he is, I hope he can forgive me. To him I promise - I will not make the same mistakes again.

(Or, it was incredible. Absolutely blew my socks off. Please go and see it. You do not need to have watched anything else in the franchise, it's completely standalone (though it very much retains much of the symbolism of the original and other films). Especially go see it if you like kaiju films. But it was such a good film about humanity and hope. Just incredible. Go and see it.)

Holy cow there’re a lot and I really do mean A LOT of Welcome Home AUs, and more coming too. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it makes sense considering WH doesn’t have a lot to work with so it leaves tons of room for fans to play around with. I just hope it doesn’t get outta hand like what happened to Undertale with its AUs.

People are free to have creative liberty on what aus they wanna make- like you said there is very little canon content to munch on so people will pull a “fine I’ll do it myself” JCHFHDHU-

I personally don’t mind it as well, but I do enjoy the aus where they purposely change Wally’s height just to make him more simp-able LMAOO

I know for sure you made a most showing all of Hunter's official scars from crew art and whatnot, and I straight up cannot find them anywhere, do you happen to have reference photos??? I've looked in so many places (art reference struggle)

OOF. okay, lemme... make like an entire reference post lmaokxjsk

first of all, we've got the Cheek Scar. we all know this one:

(aw he looks so happy. i'm sure it'll stay that way!)

secondly, there's this scar on his left ankle:

it's on the outer side of his leg, located slightly above his ankle, and it seems to kinda "curve around" his leg too, since we can see the scar up-front as well as from the back.

then, there's the scar on his left upper arm. we can see it in the show, in dana's art, and in color design refs for the episode:

(cannot stop thinking abt him wearing the vet clinic t-shirt btw... he definitely voluntereed at camila's clinic at some point........ he must've been so happy. just helping out, taking care of little creatures.. ough. he'd love that..........)

BUT ANYWAY, the scar also seems to kinda curve around the outer side of his arm (similar to his ankle scar) and it's a little bit diagonal.

next! we also see a scar on his right upper arm, although it's only in this scene, so there’s a slight possibility it’s actually an animation error, but nevertheless! it is there, so:

it’s curved around the back of his upper right arm, horizontal.

then we have scars that dana has drawn on him but that aren’t actually drawn in the show:

an x-shaped scar on his right knee, a scar on the outer side of his left calf/on the back of his leg, as well as a diagonal scar on the top side of his left lower arm (peeking out from under his glove).

AAAAAAAANNDDDDDD...... then we’ve got the new scars, too. ow.

so............ he basically got new scars in most places belos’ goo was; probably wherever it was long enough to, uh, literally eat through hunter’s skin.. considering every animal belos had possessed before ended up being a skeleton....... SO..

new scars: - a scar on his left cheek (similar to his previous cheek scar but mirrored + slightly smaller/shorter). - a scar on his left ear (it goes allll around the back too), around his ear nick. - a scar on...... a BIG portion of his right body: it has rather “jagged” lines and it starts and goes over his nose, his entire right cheek (covers a bit of his lower eyelid too), then it continues down to his neck (probably covers the entire right half of it, up-front and from the back), it probably covers his entire shoulder.. at the Least, and then it continues on and ends at his right upper arm....... uh - a scar on his left arm. it extends from his wrist to mid-upper-arm (and also has jagged lines).

.........so! i’m in pain, i’m in agony, i’m in agony and pain and i just want him to be hAPPY.

but yeah! these are all the scars. i think

VERY clear.#the entire hunting palismen scene. the post-eclipse lake flashback. him flinching. talking abt how the 'emperor is not a merciful man'#EVERYTHING. it's extremely obvious where he got his scars #but now it's....... this is the first time we see belos ON-SCREEN full-on truly give hunter scars. even if not directly it still HAPPENS #and it just makes me so................ god.#i feel so bad for him i feel so heart-broken abt him HE WAS SO HAPPYY. she asks that i tell you to remember her

the storylines with no way to change the outcome are amazing, and yet they inspire hate in my heart. especially if i end up in them repeatedly without planning to. i realised that i do not, in fact, like when all-powerful women step on me. and sadly that does mean that replaying this game again and again, i have come to dislike shifty quite a bit.

during my first playthrough, we felt like equals. we're both confused. we're both trapped. i'm still not sure wth is up with the narrator, but i'll be damned if i trust that dude. shifty, or "hands" as i was calling her at the time, felt like an ally. but overtime, she has started to feel like another captor. especially since i knew what she was going to become (specifically how frickin mean and domineering she was gonna get all of a sudden).

and then... one of my favorite repeating moments in the entire game is the end of the first loop.

she asks that i tell you to remember her

chilling. amazing. love it.

but then i thought about it a bit more and... i love this moment even more.

cause this is classic shifty. she talks about the vessel as if it's just a vessel and her wishes don't matter that much, she doesn't give you a chance to respond, she's kind of distantly cruel, flexes her power while sitting on her high frickin horse. but she's also wrong.

cause you do remember her. not just because you're a player and remember the route you took and not because she reminds you with the montage. you just remember her. that's who the hero takes you to. the vessel you met the first time. the one that asked you to remember her.

and i think that's beautiful. not just because it feels like i'm flippin an all-powerful shifty off.
