Jasnah Kholin:

She was a teacher to another protagonist and took a practical approach to the philosophy lesson by baiting some murderers into threatening them and then proceeds to kill them by turning them into fire. She is a brilliant scholar, and a proud athiest in a very religious world. When fighting a war she argues that they shouldn't negotiate with the enemy but that they must all be killed (not just the men but the women and the children). She also becomes queen and one of her first acts is ending slavery.

Liraz:

Girlie is from a society where she was born in a breeding facility to make child soldiers and she was the most effective! She's slaughtered hundreds of innocents as shown by the tattooed tally marks on her arms that look like lace gloves that go up to her elbows, but she also wants to cut off her arms to try and absolve her crimes. She also bullies her brother for falling in love with the enemy and then goes and falls in love with the younger brother figure of her brother's lover. She also begs for the enemy to heal her other brother.
