Starting off the new year with I think the most background heavy piece I've ever made! I think Rainwings and Nightwings would celebrate their traditional holidays together after the events of The brightest night. So this drawing is meant to show their cultures kind of blending together during a very joyful time. I remember talking about this concept with someone on tumblr a year ago but when I went back through my posts I couldn't for the life of me find it - so if your reading this, I remember you and this drawing stems from that conversation so thank you!

Idea!

Ex-Twin

Damian and Danyal were twins. They were very close but only within their mother's sight. Everyone else only ever saw a cold indifference.

Danyal has failed a mission at the age of 6 which resulted in his death. Damian was with him at the time and retrieved the body. In a desperate attempt to get his brother back, he tried to dip him into the Lazarus Pit.

The Pit took him away much to the heartbreak of the living boy.

Damian threw himself into an even more ruthless training and excelled at it. With time, Ra's was even happy that the other boy has died. It served as an excellent motivator to his heir.

Years passed. Damian has been with his Father for a long while now. He was now turning 22 and Father held a Gala in his honour. Damian has long since realised that it was quite unnecessary but it helped their covers and allowed him to make connections.

However, they were just as boring as ever. Same faces, same lies, same talks. Nothing aloevera changed

Until a new couple from a city Amity Park, came with two teenage children. Samantha, the girl, was expected. Her bright pink gown less so if any information on her was any true.

Her companion, a boy her age, clearly uncomfortable in the suit and tie, made the ground under his feet disappear.

He looked so much like Damian himself did at the age of 15. And his eyes were that familiar, haunting blue.

Damian excused himself from his current conversation, and gracefully strode out of the room past the young teens.

Maybe he was being paranoid. Most likely unreasonably hopeful. Perhaps he was behaving irrationally.

Nonetheless, long minutes later, the scan of a hair he managed to snag revealed the truth.

It was his brother.

He came back.

Um... so, Maddie and Jack got dozed with some old Ecto at some point during very early stages of Maddie's pregnancy and Lazarus (Ectoplasm+Clockwork) infused the preserved genes of the baby, who died so early and had a glorious life of adventures ahead of him, into the barely formed zygot.

Danny's adventures happened. Phantom Planet not so much (unless you want it to be after the AGIT). Sam's parents finally made into an even bigger leagues and were invited to the Gala.

Danny had a bad feeling. Anything to do with the extremely rich was always problematic. No offence, Sam.

Thinking about Aether teaching Phantom about the space race, and about the animals we sent into space before we sent people.

Phantom would would absolutely sob at Laika's story, relating almost too deeply to her. Abandoned by humanity and cast into a wild dark unknown, all while holding onto hope for so much more. He would go out at nights and sit on the opposite side of the courtyard from Aether, not to disrupt his own prayers to the stars.

Phantom would search the sky each night for Canis Major, before spilling his heart to the stars. The first time he did, he realized why Aether would go out and convene with the great beyond each night. The catharsis, the tears, the ability to share all of you with something far greater. Watching the stars twinkle, as if in response to the cries and pleas you make. The blinking, almost like Morse code, that told you it was all going to be okay. That you had no other choice.

Wildfire, a SkyWing who works for a branch of the Talons of Peace- the DeathWings.

Formed after the Great War, the DeathWings’ job is to keep an eye out for conflict and specifically resolve fights. Their cloaks are brightly colored in order to always stand out to dragons who need help finding them in a crowd quickly, and as for their namesake, DeathWings are a legendary tribe in Pyrrhian stories, the dragon equivalent of elves basically. They are said to appear to warn others of danger, and are most recognizable by their skeletal faces

On December 4, periodic Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks was found sharing this telescopic field of view with Vega, alpha star of the northern constellation Lyra. As the fifth brightest star in Earth's night sky, Vega is 25 light-years away while the much fainter comet was about 21 light-minutes away. In recent months, outbursts have caused dramatic increases in brightness for the comet. A Halley-type comet, 12P/Pons-Brooks last visited the inner Solar System in 1954. Its next perihelion passage or closest approach to the Sun will be April 21, 2024. That's just two weeks after the April 8 total solar eclipse path crosses North America.

He can breathe Underwater and breathe fire. He is Part of the Skywing Royal Family after one of the princess's slept with a Seawing lmao. He is very Smart and Elegant, but is also very full of himself and barely cares about anyone else (except for maybe a certain Leafwing)

Venus the Leafwing

He has Leaf speak. Born on Pyrria, he was raised in the Rainwing Village after his Parents disappeared, before he grew up and went to serve as a personal Bodyguard for Kingfisher. He is very strong both physically and emotionally, along with being very supportive and kind, but he is a bit clumsy!

Queen Glacier of the Icewing Kingdom :O

Made her look like the most Icewing Icewing to ever exist, my headcanons here are that all Icewing royalty has antlers. Something interesting is that Glacier specifically stated that she wanted to help Blaze run the sanding kingdom not take advantage of her like the dragonets thought, so Blacier for the win! I feel like she could have been explored a bit more cause she often feels like a blank state that only thinks and does as the plot demands. Although her scene in Snowfall's vision and her death scene was great.
