Love is the overwhelming presence. - TRU
A few moments from my very first traditional Indian wedding. My maternal family and I gathered to celebrate the union of my cousin and his bride in beautiful Balito in Durban. This was my second trip to the warm coast and I was absolutely in love with this side of the world and deeply honored to bare witness and participate in a traditional Hindu ceremony. The brides family were so generous and provided us with traditional saris to wear, this was my first time in one and I didn’t want to take it off. To sing OM together in grace, dance together in joy and bless the hands and feet of the bride and groom with turmeric, as well as have my own Mehndi done was so special. The effort, the place, the natural splendour of this African earth and family gathering in love was a treat that my heart really needed. I Am thankful for the time well spent, the beauty adorned and the love well shared. - TRU

did you find it yet? — all brothers
Tumblr media
author’s note ʚɞ this is based on a really cute, traditional game wherein the bride wears the groom’s name or initials hidden in her bridal mehndi/henna and on the wedding night, the groom must find it.
tags ʚɞ tooth–rotting fluff, it’s a little bit suggestive given it’s their wedding night. no gender is specified but is implied for a female reader. all brothers.
Tumblr media
𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐄𝐑 first thought it would be a chore. once you’re wed, he’s taking you straight to bed. there’s no need for an extravagant wedding or little games when he’s eager to show you how ready he is to be your husband, if you get my drift. but the second he sees your henna covered body as you peel off your wedding outfit, he’s prepared to spend the entire wedding night searching for his name because it is so beautiful and he cannot find the words to describe how gorgeous you look. and he finds you even more stunning knowing his name is embroidered somewhere on your skin. his soft hands trace every inch of your body. “you are so unbelievably beautiful,” he mutters as his hands glide over every curve, teasing your soft skin. none of you goes unscathed by his needy eyes and he lets out the tiniest gasp when he finds his name, his blush dark and desperate. “i’m yours….” he mutters gently, eyes glossing over as his fingers trace his name, “yours forever.”
Tumblr media
𝐌𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐍’s only desire right now is to satisfy you, so when you tell him he can’t touch you until he finds his name, he’s antsy trying to hold himself back as you strip out of your dress, showcasing all the parts of your body decorated with henna. his mouth waters and his hands itch to touch you; he’s bearing his fang, desperate to claim you in each and every way. but mammon is never one to back down, so he throws off his blazer and rolls up his sleeves while you whine at him to hurry up. “shaddup, will ya? i wanna find it just as much as you!” the rare moments when mammon is overtaken with concentration are always beautiful to see, especially when his eyes are intent on covering every inch of your skin. his hot breath teases you as he moves up and down your body in search of his name and you soon regret not allowing even the smallest touch. but your regret is short–lived when mammon rises with a charming smirk on his face. “hah, found it,” he slams his lips onto yours, finally letting go of his restraint. “guess i’m yours forever now.”
Tumblr media
𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 loves games, so this is just another added to his list. however, this cute little game soars to the top of his best game i ever played list. you don’t quite understand how much he loves it until the wedding night and you can tell he’s excited when he’s kissing you breathlessly and haphazardly pulling off your wedding dress. he’s still in his full tux, albeit dishevelled, by the time you’re stripped naked. he pushes you down gently onto the mattress while his hands roam every inch of your skin. he’s never acted so devoted to anything before. trails of kisses grow longer and larger as he leaves behind his lingering touch over the cleared spots, and when he moves onto the next spot, he searches intently before attacking the area with lustful, hungry lips. he’s breathless and clouded with infatuation, adoring your body until he wins this little game. “i found it!” he giggles with a face full of blush. panting, he kisses over his name countless times before you pull him up and replace his name with your lips. “i’m so in love with you i think i’m going crazy.”
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍 loves a good challenge, so he’s ecstatic when you mention the tradition to him. it’s the perfect way to spice up the wedding night. however, he is very impatient. so much that he’s grabbing your hands in the middle of the ceremony to find his name in the henna. “tell me, it’s on your hand, isn’t it?” you chuckle, not giving a single clue to him. it gets a little frustrating when he inspects your hands while you’re trying to eat. “satan, enough!” you whine, hitting him playfully. “you’re supposed to look for it tonight.” he mumbles something about not being able to wait but he also recognises the smug grin on your face; he knows immediately that he’s close. his smile grows and his heart beats erratically. he knows exactly where it is now. while you’re occupied with a mouthful of food, he grabs your hand and slips your wedding ring down slightly, revealing his name in cursive hidden underneath. “you really know how to make things difficult for me, don’t you?”
Tumblr media
𝐀𝐒𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐔𝐒 is ready to play this game as soon as you tell him about it a few days before the wedding. if anything, he rushes through the wedding, even cutting it short and throwing you over his shoulder so he can get you home, strip you naked and spend all the time in the world searching for his name on your pretty body. he challenges himself not to please you in any way until he finds it, even when you’re begging him to touch you already. to asmo, finding your name is a massive ego boost; his final way to lay claim on your body and make you his forever. so you’re pleasantly surprised when his eyes grow all teary upon spotting his pact mark blooming with henna petals and his name dancing around it, turning his mark into the most beautiful flower he’s ever seen. as if you couldn’t surprise him any better than this, he sobs with a huge smile on his lips. “you are the most beautiful being in all three realms,” he kisses the flower deeply. “i can’t believe i’m yours.”
Tumblr media
𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐙𝐄𝐁𝐔𝐁 does look forward to playing this game on your wedding night, but he doesn’t do a good job of showing it. after you tell him, he seems quite nonchalant, almost bored by the idea. but don’t be fooled by his poor expression of emotion because he is jumping and giggling and kicking his feet on the inside. it’s what he thinks about very single night for weeks before the wedding. he simply cannot stop fantasising about exploring your body, discovering more than just his name before devouring you. you don’t realise how eager he is until he’s dragging you towards the bedroom. you’re too shy, embarrassed to remove the dress so he walks towards you, towering above your dolled up frame. “don’t be embarrassed,” he assures you, stroking your cheeks with doting eyes. “i’ve been waiting so long for this.” and so, he gently undresses you, carrying you to the bed and treating your body like treasure as he searches for his name. and when he finds it hidden in the patterns on your tummy, he grins widely with a hum, knowing nothing in this world can satisfy his beastly urges the way you do.
Tumblr media
𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐆𝐎𝐑’s excitement is surprising given how lacklustre his enthusiasm usually is. in fact, he’s grown a lot more bashful since the wedding was official. who knew becoming a husband would trigger this new side of him? he fell in love with the game the moment you told him about it. and he’s so fascinated by the henna decorating your body, the way your hands and feet look so delicate with the patterns. your wedding night starts with belphie on his knees, taking off your heels and rubbing your sore feet. it was a long day but totally worth it knowing belphie is going to remain by your side forever. but first, he needs to find his name. he’s been bursting with excitement for weeks, obsessing over all the curves and crevices in which you could hide his name. but he finds it in no time, devotedly kissing the spot where his name lays atop your foot. “i thought it would be more difficult to find,” he teases, trailing the kisses up your legs, looking you in the eye the entire way. “but i’m not complaining. now i have more time to worship you.”

controversial take but pakistani ppl in america have no clue how to dress. they dress the same regardless of the occasion. why do you look the same attending a dholki as you going to the baraat?? why do you look like you’re going to a wedding during eid prayer? if you’re a bride you don’t have to get your mehndi done and wear full bridal glam and jewelry just to sit at your own dholki!! every event calls for it’s own dress code and I feel like instagram and tiktok have encouraged people to entirely lose the plot.
this isn’t even limited to dress it’s the way that every event has to be turned into an Event™️ like dholkis originated as casual events?? people in pakistan just pull out the dhol after dinner to have some fun and create an atmosphere of celebration when someone in the family is getting married. it is simple, you decorate minimally, you dress minimally. it does not make sense to celebrate every event with instagram decor! some things in life are meant to be simpler! and that’s okay! they’re still meaningful and festive!

A photo of a potential outfit Piper might wear to Cam's sister Cece's wedding. It's a green anarkali gifted to her by her nano Maya and grandma Kaitlyn, which she had her mama take a photo of. She was worried it might be too fancy with the churiya(bangles) and design, so she texted the photo of herself to Cece, saying it was an Anarkali dress, and asked if it was okay.
Cece: Looks great, Piper. 👍 Honestly, I love to see outfits from other cultures and you look so pretty in the Anarkali. 🥰 I think I might wear the Hanbok that my dad gave me for the reception too.
Piper: Thanks Cece, and I feel like you and Hanh are going to look so pretty in your wedding and reception outfits too. 🥰
Cece: Thanks Pipes, 😊 I've got to go and talk with our flowers vendor but I'll talk to you later.
Piper: Okay, talk to you later.
Piper was happy, and kept smiling to herself as she headed back up to her room to change out of the outfit and hang it up in her closet, imagining Cam's face when she'd see her at the wedding.
A few days ago, she had shown Cam some photos from a shaadi (wedding) she and her moms, aunties, cousin Emily, and brother had attended a year ago. Cam's eyes had widened when she saw Piper in her white and blue shalwaar kameez*, churiya, mehndi, jewelry, and makeup. "You look so stunning Pipes." She said, smiling softly. She'd added teasingly. "You didn't outfancy the bride did you?" Piper blushed. "No, she was the most fancy one there honestly. She had on a fancy red lehenga, mehndi all the way up her arms, gold jewelry, bangles, a nath, or nose ring, and a maang tikka, it's like this jewelry that hangs from your hair onto your forehead, plus her matching dupatta/shawl." Cam’s eyes widened. "Damn that's a lot of stuff, but I bet she looked so fancy and pretty." Piper smiled. "She did." She said, showing a photo she'd taken of Iman, the bride before they flipped to some other photos.

How would the Moonboys react to your bridal mehndi.
Tumblr media
≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫
Steven
When Steven enters your room. He spots you in your red wedding dress.
"Oh, love you look gorgeous in your saree. I can’t wait to marry you."
You smile up at him, blushing.
"Thank you, baby."
Some of the aunties outised, were shouting out his name, calling him. But before Steven leaves you called out his name.
"Steven!"
He turns around to look at you.
"Yeah love?"
"Everything alright?"
He comes up to you knealing down, placing his hands on your knees looking up to you.
"Yeah I'm fine. I just needed to ask you something.."
He looks at you waiting for you to continue.
"Um we brides do this thing where we draw on our hands.."
You pulled out your hands, to show it to him. He takes it into his own hands. Looking down at them.
"It’s called mehndi, we do these little flowers designs all over our hands-"
"God, they look lovely! Beautiful even."
He squints his eyes to closely examen your hands.
You love his serious face.
"And we also do this silly ol' tradition, where we put the grooms initial in our mehndi and they must find it. It shows you are meant to be together, you know."
He looks up at you with a smirk on his face.
"And you want me to look for it?"
You look away, you bite your lip.
"Yeah.."
"Alright, then let’s do this thing."
He starts looking for it intensevely, looking at your fingertips, in between the lines and the flowers. Flipping your hands on both sides. It's been about 6 minutes, but he still couldn’t find it anywhere.
"Love are you sure it's here?"
You chuckle at him, looking at him a slightly tilted head.
"What? Do you give up?"
"NO! no I’m just asking to make sure, that's all."
After looking for while, he finally finds it.
"BOOYA! Found it. Look right there, below the thumb. You see?"
He points it out for you.
"Finally! You did such great job sweetie."
You smiled at him.
He looked so proud of himself. He took your hands in his, kissing them lovingly while looking at you.
"I guess that means we are meant together, forever."
You burst out laughing, giving him a big tight hug around his waist.
-----------》
Marc
After the reception, you and Marc left the party for some alone time together.
"God I am exhausted. I didn't realise that weddings can get this chaotic."
You chuckled at him, sympathizing with him.
"Yeah it does. Getting ready, preparing the ceremony, greeting all the guest could really drain all your energy out."
Holding your hands together, you notice a bench under a well-litted tree. So you both go sit under it.
"You know..in indian weddings we also have this THING, yeah. Where the groom has to find his own name in the brides henna, to see if they belong together."
"Really?" He asked
"Yeah, also some grooms have a very hard time finding it you know .."
You look away from him with a grin on your face.
"Are you challenging me Y/N Spector? You really don't think I can do this?"
You shrug at him
"Don't know, just sayin?"
You look back at him, with a cheeky smile.
He takes your hands in his and immediately starts searching for it. In within seconds he finds it.
"Look here, at the tip of the finger."
He points out.
"Told ya babe, I'm too good at this."
It shouldn't have surprised you honestly, I mean he was a mercenary after all.
"I never doubted you for a second babe, I just wanted to let you know."
"Right?"
You give him a quick peck on his cheek
"Comon let's go. Our guest must be wondering by now, where we are."
He stands up, bends down to pick you up like a bridal style.
You yelp.
"Marc! Put me down! Marc..."
He looks down at you with a smirk.
"No, I don't think so..."
-------------》
Jake
You and Jake, both arrived at the hotel that you were about to stay at, for the next few days. Jake had booked a presidential suite.
When you arrived at the reception. Jake gave his name to the receptionist, and she gave him the keys to the suite.
One of the bellhops on standby helped you guys with the luggages.
When you both got to your suite, Jake tipped the bellhop. And he went on his merry way.
You used the keys to open the door. When you entered the room, you hurriedly went to on the giant king size bed and plopped onto it. With a big sigh escaping your mouth.
Jake closed the door locking it. And plopped next to you. You both looked at eachother and laughed.
"Long day, huh?"
"Yeah, I'm tired. I just wanna take this dress off and go to sleep."
"Me too, want me to help you out, amore?"
You nodded at him.
"Yeah, that would be nice."
You sat up and Jake helped you get all of the bobby pins out of your hair. Which was surprisingly a lot.
"Done! Whew that was A . LOT!"
You chuckled.
"I know, thank you."
"De nada amor."
You stood up to go to the bathroom. But he caught your hand. You turned your head to him, confused.
"Do you need help getting out of your little dress, bébé."
You gently slapped his hands away. Making him chuckle. You look at him half-unamused.
"Jake.."
When you both got changed into your comfy clothes. Getting ready to sleep.
You poked at him to get his attention. He turned around to look at you.
"Babe?"
"Sí amor?"
"Can you do something for me?"
He comes up to you laying up against you. With his head on his hand.
"Of course, qué pasa?"
"So I wanted you find your name in my henna. It shows if you belong to one another."
"Oh bébé we don't need to play these silly little games to prove our love."
"Oh comon, please? For me?"
You gave him your puppy dog eyes, you knew he couldn't say no to them.
"Alright..fine, muéstrame tus manos."
You happily showed him.
He looks at it for a while looking for his name then he finds with a heart drawn along after it.
He looks up at you smiling.
"So? Did you find it?"
He suddenly pulls you in for a deep sensual kiss. He pulls away to awnser your quetion.
"Sí. Aquí."
He then cups your cheek with this hands for you to look at him.
"Te amo princessa."
"I love you too babe."
--------------》
BONUS♡
Khonshu
"What? Are you gonna ask me to play your silly game aswell?"
"Well I wasn-"
"Because I am not playing your stupid games."
You looked at him stunned.
"What? Khonshu? KHONSHU?!

A3! Yukishiro Azuma - Translation [SSR] Elegant Ankh (3/3)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Troupe members: Thanks for the food!
Tumblr media
Taichi: Hah, that was great! But I feel like I still have room for more!
Juza: There’s still stuff I wanna eat too.
Tenma: Oh, dessert? Alright, shall we have what Juza-san wants to eat next?
Azuma: Go for it. There are lots of Indian sweets that you don’t see often in Japan, so I think you can enjoy many different things.
Tsuzuru: What are you two gonna do after this?
Izumi: Actually, there’s a booth we want to check out…
Tsuzuru: In that case, isn’t it better to split up now? We’re gonna eat the sweets Juza requests and then head home.
Izumi: Right, that works.
Tenma: Seriously, thanks, Azuma-san. I ate my fill.
Juza: Thanks for the food.
Azuma: You’re very welcome.
Tumblr media
Taichi: See ya, Azuma-san, Director-sensei~!
Azuma: Alright, shall we head to the mehndi shop?
Izumi: Lead the way!
-pause-
Staff: Welcome. Which part shall I work on today?
Azuma: I suppose I’ll choose the back of my hand.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Okay, same here.
Staff: Please select a design. The basic motifs are over here…
Izumi: Wow, so there’s so many kinds!
Azuma: Which design will ask for, Director?
Izumi: Let me see… I’ll go with this flower!
Azuma: Fufu, I thought you would say that. …I’ll choose this one.
Staff: Understood. I will get started then.
Izumi: Huh? They’re using white ink on me.
Staff: This is called white henna and it’s less irritating to the skin that the regular kind. Many people use it for weddings too.
Azuma: Ahh… that reminds me, I heard there are areas where brides always apply mehndi on the eve of their wedding.
Option 1: “It’s lovely”
Izumi: Oh, it’s lovely having that sort of custom.
Azuma: Mehndi is believed to have the power to protect you against evil and bring good luck.
Izumi: I see. That sounds perfect for a wedding!
Azuma: It’s interesting that wedding customs vary so much from country or region.
Izumi: So true! Just looking at the clothing, you can choose either western style or Japanese style in Japan.
Azuma: …
Izumi: W-what is it? You’re staring all of a sudden…
Azuma: I was just imagining which one would look better on you if you became my bride.
Izumi: You’re saying stuff like that again! Geez…!
Option 2: “It’s beautiful”
Izumi: It’s beautiful. It almost looks like the lace of a wedding dress when they draw with white ink.
Azuma: Actually, white henna fades in 2 to 3 days since the ingredients are different from the brown type.
Izumi: Eh, really? That’s so short…! Aw, that’s too bad.
Azuma: That’s how it is. So… Won’t you stay with me until it fades? I’ll watch over you morning, noon, and night.
Izumi: There’s no way that’s happening! Or rather, you’re teasing me, right?
Azuma: Fufu, I wonder?
Staff: You should do mehndi at your real wedding if you try it here and take a liking to it!
Izumi: (Real wedding…? Wait, are they misunderstanding something here!?)
Azuma: Sounds great. I’m sure Izumi would look wonderful with white henna that matches her wedding dress on.
Tumblr media
Izumi: !?
Staff: Absolutely. Please consider it!
Izumi: H-hold on, Azuma-san! Can you not say things that’ll cause a misunderstanding…!
Azuma: Fufu. Sorry, sorry. Your reactions are so adorable, it just slipped out.

HEY GIRLLLL I LOVE THE CHAPPPPP
anywayssss
your cat is so cute!! im literally in love <333
also I HAVE DRAMAAA
so im not going to go super im detail because im not even sure what happened but basically for the mehndi "a pre-wedding celebration in Hindu and Sikh culture; during this event, the bride has a red-orange mehndi "stain" applied to her palms" copy and pasted this! but we want all the brides side to wear a variation of blue and the grooms to wear a variation of yellow while the couple wear green but the mother of the bride was like "this fucking indians they can't just let it be simple and such, i still don't understand why (brides name) can't wear white to the indian wedding"
in hindu culture you wear white to funerals!
we are trying our best to try and respect the brides wishes esp because she's never experienced an indian wedding before so my brother was like "oh (almost mlw) we don;t need to do the dress codes we can keep it simple blah blah blah" and she was like "NO SHE NEEDS TO WEAR WHITE AT THE WEDDINGGGG GRRRRRR'
keep in mind we are ALSO having a christan wedding for their side and letting them do whatever with no complaints
i dont know what happened after that but its just so frustrating for our side and the bride too because (future slw) was like "i will wear literally whatever i dont know why my mom is being so difficult"
ANYWAYYY HAVE FUN AT YOUR PARTY YOU DESERVE ITTTT and send photos of the tattoo fr !!!
i love you smmm, make sure to drink water, eat food, and smile :))
Tysm! I only have a few more updates until I'm done with the smau... T^T
Wedding drama is always the craziest drama 😳
Different Wedding culture is interesting! Most of the weddings I've been to have been red neck weddings💀 from my dads side of the family
Mil sounds like a nightmare
The mil is controlling af... It's the bridr and groom who has the final say so idk why she is fighting so hard
The mil sounds low key high key racist
And their having TWO WEDDINGS!! Like why can't she just be happy 💀😭
Honestly so happy that it's not only my graduation because I hate when all the attention is on me!
The party isn't until the beginning of August which is late but it's the only day all my family can come down
And my bff is happy because she is going somewhere and missing everyones party besides mine 🤞
Idk if i posted my tattoo before but it's a matching tattoo with my mom! Got it when I turned 16
Tumblr media
And these are the ideas for my new tattoo!
I know I'm getting hoshi’s tiger drawing
But idk if I want the bear (for haechan) ... I was thinking something like it with the words “we on the way up” 😩
I still done know what nct dream tattoo I want ughh
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I've been drinking lots of water!!
Don't skip a meal!! Love yah <;3

You’re right about Kate deserving a wedding!
Their excuse for not giving us the Kanthony wedding was that it wouldn’t be a favorable comparison to the pomp of Edwina and Anthony’s almost wedding, but if they’d given Kate her traditional wedding, I don’t think that would have been an issue at all. And after we had to watch her suffer through episode 6 we deserved to see her happy on her own wedding day.
I think that’s why so many people really wanted it. In the books there is no Edwina and Anthony wedding so it doesn’t matter if we don’t have much of a Kate and Anthony one. But since they dedicated an entire episode to someone else’s wedding in Kate’s season, it feels like a glaring omission to not even give us a montage on hers. Sigh.
The way you described how Kate’s wedding should be is beautiful. It’s what she deserved. 💛
Kate literally went through one of the circles of hell (I over exaggerate but still that's how it felt) she deserved to smile on her wedding day as Anthony recites the seventh vow with her.
Plus Kate deserves to be dressed in a red lehenga/sari alongside her sister and mother (and perhaps a lavender one for the Sangeet since South Asian weddings are known for their gorgeous outfits) and to have her own Haldi and Mehndi ceremonies.
It would have also given Edwina, Mary, and Kate a chance to finally make up and have a conversation with one another about everything without relying on Horse Accident ex Machina. And it would've been a beautiful parallel to Edwina's own Haldi ceremony.
But to have a traditional Indian wedding would've required the Bridgertons to immerse themselves in a culture that they didn't belong to and one that was different from their own while facing the fact that the British Empire is literally subjugating and colonizing the continent Anthony's future wife came from and loves and lbr the show would rather kill of one of their main characters than deal with that imo.
So alas, it only exists in my mind but it is beautiful.
I didn't mind the Edwina/Anthony wedding cause I'm a sucker for messy weddings and the runaway bride trope, but how everything unfolded afterward is what I have issue with.

Girly question time! What are your favorite royal wedding veils! I love a good veil moment and need some daydream inspiration
!!!! I'm having a rough week so I NEEDED this kind of light hearted distractration! Thank you!
I'm probably gonna disappoint you here but I didn't grow up in a culture of white wedding dresses and veils so I don't think I like veils? I can appreciate how pretty like look and the craftsmanship with the lace, but I don't like them, especially the long ones.
However. We're still gonna talk about pretty veils, they just might not be a lot of western veils 😅
Princess Sarvath Al-Hassan's reminds me of my mom's veil, which she doesn't have anymore, so it always has a special place in my heart.
Tumblr media
Her daughter's, Princess Badiya, mehndi outfit and veil are GORGEOUS
Tumblr media
For western veils, there really aren't a lot I like tbh. I love Grace Kelly's, the juliet cap, the delicate lace, the length, it's all perfect in my opinion.
Tumblr media
I love Catherine's for the same reasons--the length and the delicate late.
Tumblr media
The only long one I think I like is Queen Sofia of Spain's but that too I think I would have preferred it to be shorter.
Tumblr media
Do you have any favorites? I don't plan on ever having a white wedding (brides in my culture wear red) but if I ever did I would personally choose a short veil like Catherine's and a dress with a moderately long train.

Ritual That Followed In Punjabi Wedding - Eazyvenue
Punjabi wedding means lots of fun. There is a lot of fun in this marriage and people make lovely memories while enjoying each and every moment among their loved ones. In the midst of all this, the bride and groom become a part of several rituals, which help them and their families gradually come closer and understand. These rituals are like a ladder, walking on which the couple reaches the wedding and becomes each other forever. This is the reason why every ritual has special importance.
Tumblr media
Roka is the ritual that takes place before the engagement. As the name suggests, this ritual means that now the bride and groom's relationship is fixed with each other and they will no longer look to anyone else for their relationship. In this, both the families give and take gifts among themselves and celebrate the firmness of the relationship. Usually there is no ring exchange in this, but nowadays many couples also get engaged in Roka itself. After the roka is done, both the families fix the date of the engagement and then the couple exchange rings.
Kirtan and Dholki
Puja and kirtan are held at the house of both the bride and the groom, in which especially the women of the family take part. This program, kept for the auspicious beginning of the relationship, goes on throughout the day and sometimes ends late at night. After this comes the turn of Dholki i.e. music ceremony. In this, the family dances and sings to the beat of the drum. However, nowadays its form has changed. In modern weddings, DJs are arranged and members of both the families are seen giving different choreographed performances.
Mehendi Ceremony and Jaggo
This is a very important ritual. The hands of the bride to be in this are decorated with henna, for which a woman from the family or an artist from outside is called. The hands as well as the feet of the bride-to-be are decorated with beautiful bridal mehndi designs and are expected to create a deep hue. Mehendi is also applied on the hands of the groom. On the other hand, during the Jaggo ritual, the bride and groom stay awake all night and celebrate with everyone. During this, lamps are lit, which the bride's maternal aunt carries on her head.
Turmeric and Chuda
Turmeric is applied to make the hands of the bride and groom yellow. In this, along with his family members, close friends also participate. The girl is offered bangles on behalf of her maternal uncle. Everyone touches it and gives their blessings. The eyes of the bride are kept closed while wearing it. Later the bangle is covered with a cloth.
offering sehra and mare
When the boy gets ready in the dress of the groom, his sister wears him Sehra. After this a small puja is performed. Sister also applies Surma to her brother so that he does not get evil eye from anyone. Family and friends together offer him a mare. He is accompanied by a younger child, who is usually a nephew or a younger brother. He stays with the groom throughout the procession. (Photo Credit: istock by getty images)
meeting and marriage
On the arrival of the groom, the girls welcome him. Both the families hug each other. The bride gets ready and reaches the stage and the couple garlands each other. This is followed by a ritualistic phera and the girl's parents perform her Kanyadaan, followed by an emotional farewell.

Today’s Paper Doll Is: An Indian Bride
“An Indian wedding typically is a riot of color. The bride’s apparel generally consists of three items: the choli (blouse), the ghagra (skirt), and the sari (shawl). (In times past, the midriff was left bare, but today it is more stylish to cover it up.) Red sheer fabric, worked with metallic gold patterns, is the traditional Indian wedding-dress color. Mehndi--henna patterns--are painted on the bride’s hands and feet in a ceremony for the bride and her retinue the night before a Hindu wedding ceremony.”

Capturing Forever: The 5 Must-Have Shots for Your Asian Wedding in Leicester
Your wedding day is a culmination of love, tradition, and joy, and capturing these moments is an art form. In the vibrant city of Leicester, known for its rich cultural tapestry, an Asian wedding is a celebration that blends tradition with modernity. To ensure that your wedding album tells the complete story of your special day, here are five must-have shots that your Leicester wedding photographer should capture.
The Traditional Vows: The heart of any wedding lies in the exchange of vows. In an Asian wedding, this moment is steeped in tradition, often taking place against a backdrop of intricate mandaps or under the open sky. Make sure your photographer captures the intricate details of the ceremony, from the floral arrangements to the expressions on your faces as you exchange promises. These shots not only freeze the moment but also become timeless reminders of the cultural richness of your union.
Colorful Cultural Attire: Asian weddings are a riot of colors, with brides and grooms adorned in traditional attire that reflects their cultural heritage. Whether it's the resplendent reds of a traditional Indian bridal lehenga or the elegant whites of a Pakistani wedding dress, ensure your photographer captures the details of your attire. These shots not only showcase the beauty of your cultural clothing but also serve as a visual feast for generations to come.
The Emotional Candid Moments: Beyond the staged shots, the magic of a wedding lies in the unscripted moments. Leicester's Asian weddings are filled with emotion — the tears of joy, the laughter of friends, and the shared glances between the couple. Ask your photographer to be on the lookout for these candid moments. Whether it's the emotional hug between you and your parents or the infectious laughter shared with friends, these shots add authenticity to your wedding album.
Culinary Delights and Cultural Customs: Asian weddings are known for their sumptuous feasts and cultural customs. Capture the essence of your culinary experience by having your photographer document the beautifully plated dishes, the culinary artists at work, and the joyous expressions of guests savoring the flavors. Additionally, don't forget to include shots of cultural customs like the mehndi ceremony, where intricate henna designs are applied, or the exchange of gifts, which are a significant part of many Asian wedding traditions.
Dazzling Decor and Venue Shots: Leicester offers a variety of stunning venues for Asian weddings, from traditional banquet halls to modern event spaces. Ensure your photographer captures the grandeur of your chosen venue and the intricate details of the decor. Whether it's the elaborate floral arrangements, the soft glow of fairy lights, or the carefully chosen centerpieces, these shots provide a visual narrative of the atmosphere that surrounded your special day asian wedding photographer in leicester.
Conclusion:
Your wedding day in Leicester is a chapter in the story of your love, and the photographs captured on this day are the visual narrative of that story. By ensuring your photographer captures these five must-have shots — the traditional vows, colorful cultural attire, emotional candid moments, culinary delights, and dazzling decor and venue shots — you'll create an album that not only reflects the beauty of your union but also celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Leicester's Asian weddings. So, as you plan your special day, remember that these shots will be the timeless memories you'll cherish for a lifetime.
