HAPPY BISEXUAL VISIBILITY DAY!!!!
Bisexuality is WONDERFUL!!! Bisexuality is beautiful, freeing, and perfect. I love experiencing queer attraction to all genders, I love experiencing attraction beyond the gender binary; attraction where gender isn't a boundary. I love all genders and I love that I have the ability to fall in love with any and all of them.
I love butch and femme bisexuals, I love bisexual dykes, bisexual fags, bisexual fagdykes. I love trans and nonbinary bisexuals. I love bigender and multigender bisexuals. I LOVE BISEXUALS AND BISEXUALITY!!!!!! I LOVE BISEXUALITY AND ALL ITS NONBINARY UNIQUENESS!!! I LOVE BEING BISEXUAL!!! I LOVE EXPERIENCING BISEXUAL JOY AND BISEXUAL HAPPINESS!!!
In every lifetime, if it were a choice – I would choose to be bisexual over and over again.

It has come to my attention that it's Period Drama Appreciation Week 2023. I love period dramas and grew up watching them. They have been a formative part of my life and I'm now too disabled to watch video. Even gifs are too difficult for my brain to process. It is also Bi Visibility Week and I'm posting this on Bisexual Visibility Day. Since I can't safely post a pile of gifs, here is a list celebrating actors/characters/moments from period dramas that have been significant to my bisexuality. [Yes, this is a big list. I am missing out on watching and re-watching A Lot of awesome period dramas and I hate it. This list is helping me reclaim a bit of joy. Also I've probably forgotten some favourites and may update this.]
Lori Petty in A League of Their Own
Jodhi May in any period drama
Mary Wickes in any period drama
Freddy Honeychurch in A Room with a View
Anne Hathaway playing cricket in that rust-coloured dress in Becoming Jane

Suranne Jones in Gentleman Jack
recognising Marian Lister as a bisexual who hasn't realised it yet in Gentleman Jack
Mary Agnes McNue in Godless

June Allyson leaping over a hedge (or is it a fence?) as Jo March in Little Women
the Patricia Rozema adaptation of Mansfield Park
the whole sequence where Judy Garland strides onto the neighbours' porch to sock The Boy Next Door in the jaw in Meet Me in St Louis
Katie the cook in Meet Me in St Louis
the moment where Benedick braces his arm against a doorframe in a desperate panic to stop Beatrice from going to eat Claudio's heart in the marketplace in Much Ado About Nothing

Today's bi book of the day is This Spells Disaster by Tori Anne Martin!
Tumblr media
Fake dating gets a magical twist in this enchanting bi4bi sapphic rom-com where a witch worries that the real feelings brewing between her and her crush were sparked by an accidental love potion and the only way out of the disastrous spell is a healthy dose of the truth—drink up, witches.
Potion maker and self-proclaimed "messy witch" Morgan Greenwood is sure she was hexed at birth. Not only did she drunkenly offer to fake date the woman of her dreams during the biennial New England Witches' festival, but Rory Sandler, spellcasting champion and brilliant elemental witch--for reasons known only to the Goddess--accepted. It's like every good luck spell Morgan ever cast came through at once, and it doesn't take a crystal ball to predict this charade will end with a broken heart. Or is the magic between them real? As Morgan and Rory prepare to fool everyone at the festival, their relationship starts to feel a whole lot less fake--right until Morgan realizes she might have screwed up the common relaxation potion she made for Rory and given her a love potion instead, breaking one of the most sacred Witch Council Laws. To fulfill her promise to Rory, Morgan must somehow keep playing pretend while under the watchful eyes of Rory's family and legion of fans. But to break the love potion, she'll also have to prove how incompatible she and Rory really are. For a screwup like her, ruining their relationship should be easy--except every day, Morgan is becoming more bewitched by Rory herself.

Today is Bisexual Visibility Day!
I figured it would be a good time to share the main findings of my dissertation study with all of those interested. My dissertation study aimed to understand how identity affirmation may protect bi+ women of color from negative bisexual experiences. Thank you to everyone who participated and/or shared my study. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions.
